Today is a repeat of yesterday. Tomorrow will be a repeat of today. You can't even remember how long it's been since you were unable to relax in your own house. It's been about an hour since your confrontation with Kadokawa. You're positive that situation could have gone a lot better than it did, but nevertheless, you still took her unconscious form back to your house for questioning. Claire took her to your room in order to restrain her, but you haven't gone in just yet. Something about knocking someone out and then forcing answers out of them just doesn't sit well with you yet.

The stack of papers you stole from the Sergeant's safe are sitting on the kitchen table in front of you. You still can't read them because of the code, and you're not sure how you're going to begin breaking it. You think you could ask Kadokawa later, but if she doesn't know the code, you're not sure where to turn yet.

You take a look at the clock and note that it's still late afternoon. You still have time to go do your inspection on the athletic fields later, as long as you don't take too long talking to Kadokawa.

After finally getting up your nerve, you stand up from the kitchen table and think about how you're going to question Kadokawa. You're not experienced in this whole interrogation thing, so you pause to consider your options.

>You catch more flies with honey, they say. Maybe you should bring her a meal and a drink when you go up?
>She was clearly involved with someone shady. You should put the screws to her.
>...There's no need to make a huge deal of this. You're sure you can just talk to her casually.

Yeah, there's no reason to get all worked up. It's not like you're doing anything wrong here, and she's already been found out. Besides, you're sure that Claire has already made the poor girl anxious enough.

You climb the stairs to your room, confident that you'll be able to have a normal conversation with someone for the first time in a long, long time. Kadokawa seemed sane enough, unlike the rest of the people you've been stuck with. Maybe being a lunatic is a requirement for joining the UGN? It makes sense until you realize that they've repeatedly asked you to join...best not to linger on that thought for too long.

As you go to open the door to your room, you hear the faint sound of whimpering from within. It's not Claire, so it must be Kadokawa. You did beat her up pretty badly back there, so she might still be sore. Slightly concerned, you open the door and step inside. What you see stuns you for a moment, and you have to take a step back.

Kadokawa is laid out on your bed with a look of utter despair on her face. She's bound by what looks to be a single length of rope, crossing over her body in an odd diamond pattern. Her hands are tied above her head, and her ankles have been strapped together. You see the rope digging into her upper thighs and chest, and you can tell from her labored breath that they must be very tight. As soon as Kadokawa sees you, her eyes well up with tears and she begins squirming.

"N-no...I didn't want the first time to be like this..."
>>
>>30024612
Claire approaches her from the edge of your vision, hopping along the ground. Hm? Is she tied up too? How in the world did she tie herself up? Claire throws herself onto the bed and leans against Kadokawa's shoulder.

"Don't worry. I'm sure Captain will be a gentle lover."

You immediately bean Claire in the head with your alarm clock, quickly pulled from the dresser at your side. That will be quite enough of that behavior, thank you.

You sit down on the bed and clear your throat.

You decide that you should probably cut Kadokawa loose before you ask her anything. You reach over to her and start struggling with the knots. It's very difficult to untie her. Not only are these knots and bindings incredibly complex, it's difficult to get anywhere with her flinching and sobbing every time you touch her.

Eventually, after figuring out you're not getting anywhere, you decide to apply brute force to the situation. You grab a fistful of bindings and pull as hard as you can. Kadokawa cries out suddenly as the ropes bite into her, and you nearly lift her into the air before the rope finally snaps. Kadokawa lands on the bed, gasping for air and visibly shaking. You look over to Claire, who is still bound. She looks between you and Kadokawa, then presents the back of her bindings toward you. Although you'd like to put an end to this insanity as soon as possible, you get the feeling that Claire would enjoy being squeezed by the ropes too much and decide to leave her be for now.

You pull up the desk chair next to your bed and have a seat. It's hard to imagine yourself as anything but a UGN agent at the moment, and you make a mental note to complain loudly to the Chief for forcing this assignment on you. Kadokawa, regaining some composure, leans up against the wall and pulls some of your sheets over herself.
>>
>>30025141
Well, first things first. You know her name and a small snippet about her, but that's all. You'll need more information than that.

"Y-Yes, sir. I'm C-Cadet Rin Kadokawa. Ranked last in my class and worst overall for the past ten years. I'm sure you already know I'm Overed, s-so..."

Well, what else? What is Kadokawa's Breed and Syndrome's. Judging from those electric attacks you'd say...

"B-Black Dog, sir. I'm a Crossbreed so there's one other but...I don't like to use it."

Well, that's her business you suppose. You already know she was working with that suspicious individual. What you want to know right now is...

>What she did for them.
>Why she is cooperating with them?

>>30025164
Why would she work with someone so shady? They can't be up to anything good if they're arranging for secret meetings like that. Kadokawa looks down and wipes the tears and snot off her face with your sheets. Great.

"M-my brother, Kazuma. He went overseas to fight in the Ajuraan conflict."

Isn't that another one of those Middle Eastern hotspots or something? Is Kadokawa's entire family in the military?

"Well, a few months ago, I suddenly got a call from a number I'd never seen before. They said they had my brother, and that I needed to cooperate with them. I...I didn't believe them at first, so a week later, they sent me a picture of my brother. They'd beat him horribly...I-I didn't know what to think. I tried to talk to my superior, the Sergeant, but he wouldn't listen to me at all!"

Kadokawa blows her nose into your blankets again. Ugh, they're seriously going to need a wash.

"After that, they sent me one of his fingers. Since then, I've just been doing whatever they say. Finding other Overed, helping them move d-drugs...the trap on the bleachers..."

She breaks down again and begins to cry openly.

There's a trap on the bleachers?

"Y-yes, sir. I'm not that strong but I can make good traps. I-I can show you if you want..."

Well, if she'll show you and disarm this trap by herself, that will take a large burden off your shoulders. But won't her brother get hurt if she goes back on her deal? Isn't it enough to just tell you where it is?

"I don't like to brag, but...I don't think you'll find it without my help. I'm sorry if I sounded arrogant there, sir."

This is difficult. Even if she wasn't being blackmailed, do you have a reason to trust her on this? You look to Claire for advice.

"It's my opinion, Captain, that she's telling the truth."

Oh? What makes Claire so certain about that?

"Such a cute girl can't be a liar, can she?"

You pick Claire up by her bindings and throw her outside of your room. You can hear her cries of agony(?) as she tumbles down the stairs. Returning to your seat, you pause to think. Can you really trust Kadokawa on this? She doesn't stand anything to gain by helping you. Then again, if she's right, there's no way you'll be able to find her trap without her help.

It doesn't make any logical sense to you, but you decide to trust her this once. However, there will be a few conditions. First of all, you're going to call this into the Chief. It doesn't get to be a secret between you and her. Secondly, she's going to show you this trap right away. Finally, if she somehow tries to trick you, you're going to let Claire keep her as that 'love pet' she was talking about.

"Y-Yes, sir!"

You nod and head downstairs, telling Claire to make the call while you deal with your other preparations. After you're ready you call for Kadokawa, who walks downstairs, dragging your freshly snotty blanket with her. ...Is she going to try to take that with her?

"I-Is there a problem, sir?"

Following your gaze, Kadokawa realizes what she's doing and drops the blanket. Turning red, she awkwardly marches past you, keeping her eyes on the ground.

--

"Here..."

Kadokawa points up at the underside of the plastic bleachers. You peer in, but you can't really see what she's getting at.

"Um...M-Maybe I should show how it works instead...?"

Kadokawa places a finger on the bleachers and you see sparks leap from her fingertips. All along the seating, you see bolts of lightning arc upward toward the sky. The entire seating area is a light show of electrical power, and you're frankly surprised that you're not getting hurt either. Still, this doesn't seem like much of a trap...She's a Black Dog after all.
>>
>>30026735

Kadokawa shakes her head and takes her hand off the seats. Tentatively, she reaches out and takes your hand, then places it on the backside of the bleachers. You feel a small depression and your finger instinctively pushes in. Immediately, the exact same shock runs through the stands. This is...

"Yes, sir, I set up hundreds of...wires that each contain their own electrical charge around these bleachers. Anybody can complete the circuit now. Since there's no generator and the wires are almost invisible to the naked eye, it's virtually undetectable...probably...maybe...sir."

But why would they want her to do something like this. This much shock should kill someone. Unless they want to make sure there's a bunch of corpses, you don't see the point of this trap.

"I-I'm not sure myself. They asked for a very specific amount of power but besides that..."

You have to drop Kadokawa off at UGN headquartes, but before that, should you go ahead and remove this trap?

You tell her to disarm her trap. There's no reason to leave something this dangerous around. Kadokawa nods at you, then places her hand on the bleachers again. You see a small spark jump from the bleachers, and then nothing more. After a few seconds, Kadokawa turns back to you.

"I've broken the circuit, sir. You shouldn't be able to trigger the trap, and in a few hours, all the power will have discharged from the wires..."

She clasps her hands and begins to twiddle her fingers. She looks down.

"So...I'm in trouble, aren't I?"

"Indeed you are!"

You see the Chief, accompanied by Claire and Lunatic High. While Claire gives a friendly wave to Kadokawa, the Chief looks absolutely furious. She stomps over to Kadokawa and glares upwards at her.

"Just what were you thinking, you fool? Is this what your brother would have wanted you to do?"

"N-No, I didn't..."

"Of course you didn't think!" The Chief reaches up and grabs Kadokawa by the ear. Spinning on her heel, she immediately turns around and begins to drag the girl off.

"You did good work today, Wild Card. We will take her to headquarters ourselves and process her. Your work is done for the day. Go home and rest. You deserve it."

After the Chief and her escort disappear into a black sedan parked on the side of the road, you're left by yourself. This was a long day, but at least you got your work done...

"It's such a shame she had to leave, Captain," Claire says, taking her place beside you, "But don't feel lonely. I'll keep you warm tonight in her place."

You decide to ignore Claire and begin to head home, your UGN watchdog hot on your heels.

Um...yes? That's been pretty conclusively established by now. Claire's turned on by our fur. She wants to touch the fluffy tail.

>>30028464
I must be misremembering, then. I guess Claire's got some other reason for her doggedness. Hopefully it's not the forgotten childhood friend angle. Because that girl always wins in harem manga. Claire's already the first girl, she doesn't need more of an advantage. Captain does not want to go down that ending path.

>>30028273
Ahh, it's a nice dream. You're young again, back when you thought that life was wonderful. The birds are singing outside, they seem so happy. The sun is shining, and you feel a magic in the air. Your heart feels at peace, an emotion you've long since forgotten. The smell of bacon and pancakes fills your nose.

That's right, you're about to have breakfast. You look around. Your father is at the opposite side of the table, reading the newspaper. Looks like the football team did well, because you can hear him tapping his foot with excitement. You look over to the kitchen and see your mother at the stove. She's flipping over the pancakes, and you can see a pan to her right. From the popping and sizzling, you know that must be where the bacon is being cooked. Hmm...there's someone else tending to the bacon. You know this person, right? You were friends, weren't you? Why did you stop talking?

You are awoken from your slumber by the taste of fried pork. Bacon? You open your eyes to see Claire straddling you, shoving food into your mouth.

"Good morning, Captain. Every part of you seems absolutely healthy this morning."

You choke on the food, but eventually manage to gulp it down. Sitting up, you demand do know what she's doing in your room and why she's force-feeding you.

"I'm tending to your needs, Captain. You should know by now that it's not healthy to deny one's impulses completely. Especially for those carrying the Renegade. You feel hunger after using your powers often, don't you?"

Well, that's true but...

"Then, say 'aah'."

Claire holds out another slice of bacon. You are hungry. Starving actually. You feel like you could eat a horse. But...should you really indulge her?

>Go ahead and eat.
>Deny your hunger (Regretfully).

>>30028611

Well, that's a larger vote than normal.
>Counting then writing
>>

>Since there was a larger turn out and the vote was more or less split down the middle, I decided to compromise.

You abruptly sit up, snatching the bacon from Claire's hand. You're not some animal that has to be hand fed or something. You put the slice of meat in your mouth and proceed to lift Claire off your bed by the back of her shirt. You give her a wary eye as she turns back to you.

"I've also prepared pancakes for you downstairs, Captain. Please hurry, before they cool."

...Is she sure they're edible?

"How cruel, Captain. I am prime wife material; there is no manner of domestic life that I am not a master of," Claire reaches down to the hem of her skirt and begins to pull it up, "Though my understanding of the bedroom is still theoretical, perhaps you would be willing to tutor--"

You toss her down the stairs again while you get dressed.

--

Though you absolutely, positively refuse to tell Claire, and it is difficult to even admit it to yourself, her cooking is every bit as good as she said it was. You're already on your fourth plate and you don't know when you're going to stop. Claire sits at the opposite end of the table from you, with her hands on her cheeks. It doesn't look very demure with her empty face.

"Yes, Captain, please eat your fill. It's bad to keep your urges in, especially after you've been working so hard."

You were never a big eater before you became an Overed. You wonder if everyone goes through this.

"Yes, but it is not all the same. Some crave destruction, others find themselves eternally sleepy. The Chief will scold me for saying so, but she apparently has a taste for blood. Personally, I've never seen her indulge it, but I imagine it is quite difficult on her to find an acceptable time and place for such things."

Yes, well, that's fascinating but what you really need to discuss is...

This is her at her best, really. She's showing off some of the things that make her good wife material: virgin, cares about your health and well-being, good at cooking, likes sex (with you).

(Right now she's not showing off the things that make her bad wife material, such as her total lack of ability to respect boundaries. Actually, that may be the only one, now that I think of it. Shows how important it is, I guess.)

Those papers you collected have been bothering you. You don't know how to even to begin to decode them, and whatever is on them is most likely relevant to this business. You pick up the papers between bites and try to come up with some kind of resolution to this.

"I'm afraid to say that I do not know how to decrypt this particular document either, Captain. While I'm versed in many conventional codes, I have not seen this particular combination before. Instructor Luna may know, since she used to be part of the United States military, but that was a long time ago. If you'd like, we can request her aid before setting out for today's investigation."

It might be a good idea. Then again, when did that drunk ever give you any good advice? The last time you spoke with her, she just pestered and teased you about Claire. You're not eager to relive that experience.

"Speaking of the investigation, I believe we can put North-Star behind us. Which of the other two institutions would you like to visit today?"

Claire x Captain could be a good pairing. They have fun chemistry, and it could still be fun as a couple. You know, she's the ridiculous, autistic pervert, and he's the dour, long-suffering salaryman who somehow tolerates her eccentricities.

The problem is that I doubt that /tg/ can both waifu Claire, and play the Captain as fundamentally indifferent to her in the way he would need to be to maintain that chemistry. I mean, I love you all dearly, but the gestalt entity of your decision making processes is just an absurd stereotype of the nerd who just got his first girlfriend and will let her walk all over him.

>>
>>30030192
To be fair, Rin only thought she was going to be raped because of Claire. I think Rin should be the only female character Captain is actually nice to, not because he likes her but just because he feels so guilty for letting Claire get out of hand like that. He's had to live with that for two months now, he knows how unpleasant it can be.
>>
>>30030268
I don't think Kadokawa thought it was very funny while she was sobbing tied up in a bed.
>>
>>30030304
Then it's a good thing that Kadokawa is a fictional character, and so it is possible to laugh at her suffering without guilt.

>>
>>30030345
We really need to make it up to the poor girl. Rin seems to actually be sane, unlike everyone else Captain knows. So far she's the only character to have entirely reasonable responses to the madness around her. Even her submissiveness was probably just because she was beaten up and kidnapped and threatened with rape by one of her captors.

"I understand, we will make for Yamada Girl's Prep School as soon as we finish our business with these coded documents. Now please, eat your fill. I made all of this just for you, and even used the secret ingredient."

She lets the sentence hang in the air. You know what she means, but you absolutely refuse to play along.

"...The secret ingredient is l, o, v--"

Yes, yes, that's enough.

--

You sigh. You don't really want to consult with Lunatic High on this. That smelly, foul-mouthed, filthy drunkard is probably one of the more annoying people you've met in the past few months, and that's including the pervert that's attached to you at the hip. You're sitting in the teacher's lounge, waiting for Lunatic High to wake up from her afternoon, alcohol induced coma. Claire is waiting outside, supposedly keeping watch.

Feeling rather impatient, you start to wad up pieces of scrap paper and lob them at Lunatic. If you can land one in her fluffy ear, that's two points, if you can land one on her nose, that's three points. If you can somehow launch one into her non-existent cleavage, that's six points. You've played this game before and never been able to land a single piece of paper down there.
>>
>>30030641
Eventually, after scoring twenty-seven points, Lunatic stirs, looking up at you.

"Oooh...hey, boy. Feelin' good today?" She looks back and forth, "Eh, Bullets ain't with you? You get into a fight? Did you try to put it in her butt like I told you to? I said you needed lube, boy, lube."

You really don't have time to entertain her ridiculous line of discussion today. You slap the papers down on the coffee table in front of you. The only thing you need to know today is if she can decode these for you.

"Whaat? I already have to do enough paperwork with this stupid job. Don't give me more. You don't even do the homework I give you."

You don't feel particularly compelled to do any homework which involves spanking Claire. You firmly point at the papers again. Can she decode these for you or not?

"...fine, fine. Yeah, I can get this done. Come back to me at the end of the day. I'll have something for you...stupid kid acting all high and mighty he just needs to bust a nut and..."

You get up and leave Lunatic to her rambling. After you meet up with Claire outside, you head to the place you need to investigate today.

>>30030657
Yamada Girl's Prep is a lot more modest than you thought it would be. While it is clearly constructed with exacting precision, its walls are plastered with a soft brown color, and it sports a white roof. The grounds are neat and clean, with decorative shrubs that are clipped in a conservative fashion. You can see the students walking back and forth in loosely grouped units, chatting quietly with each other.

Of course, this is all from outside the gate. You're standing in front of a large, iron gate, topped with menacing spikes and surrounded by barbed wire fences. You can hear a slight pop whenever an insect lands on it, letting you know that it's electrified. There is a small buzzer on the side of the gate, along with an intercom. You suppose you have to ring that to get in.

After telling Claire to be on her best behavior, you think about how you should do this. It'll be more difficult to move around here than in North-Star

>Rely on that I.D. You do have permission to be here.

As far as I can tell, Captain's rejections have always been ambiguous. Most of the time he just ignores her, physically removes her, or puts off telling her "I don't want you" by telling her to get out or shut up or something like that. A normal person could intuit the meaning that, but Claire is...special.

Look no matter how determined the Captain is he can't very well ignore it if she starts stripping while being ignored by others due to Overed juice.
>>
>>30031027
Well shit, I actually archive binged Gaijin Smash once upon a time. Huh.
>>
>>30031062

We can and that be hilarious.
>>
>>30030917
Maybe when Claire does something to push Captain past his breaking point. But just walking up to her and saying it will probably not happen.
>>
>>30031032
This. Captain has to explain that all this creepy shit has pretty well blown her chances with him, and the he's not interested in anyone involved with this bullshit besides.

I figure she either goes mental or she doesn't, that's out of our hands.
>>
>>30031095
I think rather than a loud outburst the Captain would just calmly tell her off. It fits his image more.
>>
>>30030678
Plan in mind, you press the button next to the gate and wait for the response. About a minute later, a scratchy voice comes over the line and asks your business. You reply that you're from the Fitness Day Committee and you need to make sure that everybody is doing their part to be ready for the events. After a few minutes of waiting, the gate opens to you and you're let inside.

The inside is austere, designed with what you think is cherry wood and an off white paint. Various antiques, trophies and pieces of art line the walls every which way, and unlike your public school, there are little to no lockers of any kind to be found. Every student that passes you gives you a slight nod of her head, and it makes you feel a little important as you pass. The well mannered nature of this place is even rubbing off on Claire, who has kept silent this whole time, gently bowing to every adult that wanders by. Eventually, you are approached by a young woman. She's clearly not a student here, her traditional dress stands out against the walls of sailor uniforms. She hands a small card out to you.

Minako Suzuki. Professor of Japanese Classics. Is that even a real subject? You turn the card over to find some more information.
For the UGN Agent: The Archery Range is strange at midnight, please investigate. Please also look into the Tea Ceremony Room. It is haunted.

You look up to ask more, but the woman is gone. Well, you have your leads. Which should you take care of first?

How about we don't investigate the tea room

It not midnight yet so Archery Range goes latter.

It might be better to check out the range at night when things are going down.
>>
>>30031185
>Tea Ceremony Room
>>
>>30031185

Clarie in a tea room ah shit lets do this
>>
>>30031185

If we have enough time, let's actually try and go to the archery range at midnight, or close to it. I say we go to the tea room.

If we don't have enough time to go to the archery range tonight, I'm okay going to it now.
>>
There is the option of splitting up right?
>>
>>30031185
>The Archery Range
If the Archery Range is weird at midnight it might be worth it to check it out now. Whatever is causing it would probably be dormant right now. Assuming it's not just some Overed sneaking in to practice their abilities or something like that. I'm worried it might be a Renegade Object or Being, though. Especially with the Tea Room being haunted. Renegade Beings can form as a result of Renegade particles somehow imprinting on rumors and myths, it's possible that there really is a "ghost" in there.
>>
>>30031185
>>The Archery Range

This isn't likely to give us any trouble if we find it during the day if it's only active at night.
>>
Also remember that Kadowaki's contact appeared to be a disembodied voice, if I remember right. What can do that besides Angel Halos?
>>
>>30031185
What time is it now? If the Archery Range only happens at midnight, and that isn't for a few hours, then check the tea room.
>>
>>30031355
In Double Cross Time, it is 3:45PM
>>
>>30031340
Hm, perhaps Hanuman...
>>
>>30031340
A long distance Hanuman user? It says they are capable of creating sound waves.
>>
>>30031127
Or we could see if Chief can fix this problem. Remind her how well ignoring Yeager's creepy shit turned out and tell her Claire has gone way past even that level.
>>
>counting then writing
>>
>>30031340
Orcus Overeds can warp space around their domain to render it invisible. And we know there's an Orcus involved with the sabotage, so it could be them. Balors can warp space to hide things too, as I recall. Alternatively, Hanuman Overeds can project their voice over a long distance.
>>
A simple solution would be to somehow prevent Claire from entering the Captain's house. That would prevent most of her advances.
>>
>>30031427
>>30031382
>>30031391

didn't we sense a presence however? Probably invisibility if that as the case
>>
>>30031395
Wasn't Yeager's "punishment" getting to go to california with his crush? How do we know that Chief isn't already shipping us with Claire, like Lunatic seems to be doing?

>Claire has gone way past even that level.
well, she hasn't tried drugging us substances that are very likely to cause our death.
>>
>>30031505
That we know of.
>>
DXR are we ever gonna get an explanation as to how Claire tied herself up?
>>
>>30031534
She probably created the rope.
>>
>>30031534
She can produce tangible illusions, that might have been a factor.
>>
>>30031458
We need to form our own faction. There must be other Overed out there dissatisfied with their only choices being between nutjobs and lunatics. We can't be the only normal dude on the planet, we'd have noticed.
>>
>>30031534
There's not going to be a good time to tell you in the story: She created the rope around herself, already in place. Normally, this is too complex to do, but she practiced for weeks in case Captain ever asked her for some shibari play.
>>
>>30031551
Yeah, that would be my guess. Wrapped a sheet around herself and transmuted it into rope.
>>
>>30031514
She'd need Shining Void's help, though I bet Lunatic would be willing to assist in pressuring her into making some kind of cocktail, just to watch the fallout.

Bondage. Specifically a variety popular in Japan. I don't know the details, just that it uses rope instead of any other kind of restraints.

DRX Chimera animal qualities do no have to be mammalian right? They can be reptilian as well? Not for the captain I just like the idea of making a Overed that's a dragon using Chimera and Salamander.

Midnight won't be for a long time, you'd better go see about this Haunted Tea Room. You're not sure if you buy this whole ghost nonsense.

"No, it's very possible for it to be a ghost," Claire walks up beside you and speaks for the first time since you entered this place. You sort of miss the silence, but this sounds like a topic you should learn about.

"The Renegade sometimes patterns itself upon the memories of dead human beings. It's possible for a strain of sentient Renegade to take on the personality and likeness of a deceased human being, so long as enough of their remains are intact. These ghosts and other beings with similar origins are called Renegade Beings. They're essentially the will of the Renegade, given tangible form."

Oh, that was very informative and to the point. Claire seems to be very subdued at the moment, what's brought about this change?

"...To tell you the truth, I am not very good with ghosts. But if you're here, Captain, I can do anything."

You're not sure if your claws can do any good against a ghost, though...

--

The Tea Ceremony Room is quite cramped. You can see a small table with what looks like a portable stove on top of it. That must be what they use to boil the water. All around the room there are cabinets, each filled with what looks like boxes of tea leaves. There are several sets of pots and cups in the corner, next to a sink they must use to wash everything when they're done. There's a small window at the top of the room, and the light from the afternoon sun filters down onto the table, making it warm to the touch. Just by putting your hand on it, you feel like you could take a great nap here.
>>
>>30031874
No matter how you search, though, you don't find any trace of this supposed ghost. Was it just the schoolgirls making up rumors? You turn to check with Claire, who is frozen solid just a few feet from the door. Seems like she doesn't want to come all the way into the room just yet.

So, what now? You do have to wait until midnight before you can check on the archery range, and that table does look mighty comfortable. You could nap until then. You could also have Claire help you out. She's supposed to be able to see things you can't with her powers, isn't she? So what if she's a little scared? Or you could just forget all of this and go check on the Archery Range or perhaps the Fields early.

>Take a Nap
>Have Claire inspect the room
>Go to the Archery Range
>Go to the Fields

(Gettin sleepy guys. You still up for more or have I reached my quest quota for the day?)

Alright, so here's what I'm gonna do. I'll tally these votes and write up the OP of next time based on this choice. I'll stick around for about 20 or so minutes and answer some questions, since it seems y'all have a lot to say today.

I don't think so. Lunatic is here, after all. All I know is that she definitely doesn't see us when she looks at us, she see's some sort of sexually ravenous chimera Adonis that only exists in her head. That fantasy has to be coming from somewhere, but damned if I can tell where.
>>
>>30032020
Does the Chief know of Claire's actions, and more importantly does she condone them?

>>
>>30032075
Yes. Claire fills out extensive reports of the interactions between her and the Captain down to the minute. Claire has extremely good memory, so pretty much everything you guys do to her also gets reported (your actions are always rose-tinted).

>>30032111
Well....that good...AND bad.

The UGN would like us to be in their organization.

The UGN is indirectly responsible for the Captain's degeneration seeing as how they keep sending him into hazardous situations. Hell they probably plan on never letting up on the observation period due to his usefulness.

>>30032136
The Chief continues to approve of Claire's effect on the Captain and vice-versa. I'll tell you because it's in reports that the Captain has probably already read, but there's evidence that Claire is stabilizing his encroachment rate, and Claire's encroachment rate has dropped significantly.

She cries on the floor and Captain walks past her giving her a swift kick to the gut
And this happens day after day but claire is happy that Captain finally needs her for something
>>
>>30032387
It makes a twisted kind of sense. If he is thinking about how ridiculous Claire is he isn't thinking about the hunger that is now a part of him.
Same thing with Claire. Her obsession is distracting her from other issues.
>>
Why does Lunatic want us to put it in Claire's butt?
>>30032410

>>
>>30032291

>>
>>30032421
The hatred and annoyance is the only thing keeping us sane. That's like the exact opposite of how this usually goes.
>>
>>30032420
i want claire to internally suffer as she watches us date a nice, wonderful girl who we shower with love and affection that we never gave her
>>
>>30032434
That's how encroachment works. Any relationship is good. Hell, if Yeager was still around being a cunt HE would be lowering our encroachment, if interaction was meaningful to Captain (i.e irritated the fuck out of him)
>>
>>30032456
Why the love for her? She's a fucking psychopath. Classic /tg/
>>
So going off what that one guy said, can Orcuses really affect things outside of their zone?
>>
>>30032422
>Why does Lunatic want us to put it in Claire's butt?
Claire is one of Lunatic High's favorite students, and wishes the best for her. Lunatic High is also a woman with much experience with relationships. Lunatic High is also drunk all the time.

>>30032421
>>30032466
This is exactly how it works. Claire has such a pronounced effect on Captain because she's annoying you guys. Germs (Gjaums) can form for many reasons, but social isolation causing them to focus on their new, inhuman needs has an exponential effect on your encroachment rate.

Simply put, if Captain continued to live the life he did, his life as an Overed would be short.

>>
Thanks for running DXR. Hope the scum Clairefags die out soon. Good night
>>
>>30032848
Now I'm imagining her being voiced by Dan Mintz. It's definitely an improvement.
>>
>>30032861
>i've read and watched too many mangam anime and hentai to see where is char is going.
>>
>>30032861
It's mostly people who know that Claire is an unbalanced mental patient. While a couple morons think "no she's not that bad just misunderstood"

But yeah, it is pretty impressive
>>
>>30032844
Have they specified the amount of time? I imagine he may be in for a surprise if all his work shortens it by a week.
>>
>>30032861
Because Claire has gotten such a strong reaction, she's pretty much filling Captain's entire quota of "meaningful human relationships". Had she gotten a more lukewarm response, there would have been Persona level social link juggling in order to make enough relationships to balance out Captain dying multiple times every few weeks
>>
>>30032874
What?
>>
>>30032785
I just want to have the Cap'tn work and have relationships with people who are not drunk constantly, videotaping sexual encounters, being stuck up and holier then thou, and most importantly, NOT BEING A CREEPY MOLESTING SEX OFFENDER WHO WOULD POSSIBLY MAKE US INTO A REALISTIC SEX DOLL.

Is that too much
>>
>>30032905
It is for this thread. Maybe next one. We gotta stay strong and prove the power of our mediocre lifestyle choices.
>>
>>30032892
I'm pretty sure the Chief mentioned 4 years the first.

>>30032895
>"Holy shit, have you read these reports? She is irritating the FUCK out of him."
>"At this rate we won't even need to try and find a compatible team, she's nearly stabilized his encroachment singlehandedly."
>"Good work gentlemen. Beers?
>>
>>30032892
Lunatic High said she'd work on getting your time cut in half.
>>
>>30032905
That Kadokawa chick seems pretty sane, all things considered.
>>
I just want to say one thing before I sign off for the night. If you like Claire, that's great. I'm glad she's making you happy. If you hate Clare, that's also great, because she's also purposefully infuriating and odd. Ultimately, I just wanted a strong reaction from her, and I'm glad you gave it to me. Now, unless something pops up that I can answer quickly, I'm heading to bed.
>>
>>30032829
More like theyre trying to to play a caricature of what they think a normal person would act like. I mean, a normal person has at least a passing interest in other human beings, friends, family, interests... They react emotionally at times to situations, and things like pain and death happening around them.
You guys have been actively avoiding doing Anything that actively engages with any other human being unless forced to, and not even just the unusual or crazy ones. And avoiding doing anything productive thats not going to have a negative consequence, like eating or doing homework. When met with violence or suffering of people close by, No emotion or sympathy is ever shown, and usually the issue is ignored completely. This is not a normal person, this is a fucking emotionless android. oh wait, he feels anger apparently. but only for purely selfish reasons.
>>
>>30032895
>the more angry you get, the more screentime I give her
Pfthahaha.
I guess the trolls should just shut up, then?
>>
>>30033033
Uh, do you remember the posts suggesting he be played as a Depressive or Schizoid? And reclusive isolation is a Renegade Impulse, pretty sure.
>>
>>30033032
I just think Claire is hilarious. Filthy pettan is my waifu.
>>30033033
We're playing Captain as he was a presented to us in the first thread. It has been determined that he almost certainly suffers from schizoid personality disorder.
>>
>>30032905
No, but I also dont see anyone trying to adapt at all to improve the situation either.
>>30032921
Stop using that word.
>>
archive when?
>>
>>30033033
That's just it. We haven't gotten the chance to interact with normal people in a while, though I will admit that there is a lack of empathy.
>>
>>30033097
>Filthy pettan is my waifu.
Filthy Waifu bro!
>>
>>30032958
And the very next day we jump off a roof in our Xenoform and land in a bus to escape Clare.
>>
>>30033097
>>30033090
>>30033090
So is he being mediocre, or Schizoid? Theyre NOT the same thing. make up your minds on what youre trying to do
>>
>>30033168
He is a schizoid seeking a mediocre life.
>>
>>30033123
Well, at least new girl might be normal...

Hell, lets call Ayase. She's normal enough and far less infuriating.
>>
>>30033228
She's not really normal anymore.
>>
>>30033168
I don't think I've used the word mediocre at all in this quest, or if I did it was very early on. I like the mental disorder take because really, he should [have been]be exhibiting higher levels of psychoses than any of the UGN folks. He just hasn't been allowed to indulge it thanks to them, so they're doing their jobs. (I also had hoped that the Chief making his home a command center was to force interaction upon him since she knew what was up)
>>
>>30033255
She's not gunning for our old wank rags, either.

She's normal in terms of not being a lunatic.
>>
>>30033255
She might not be weird about it if we apologize for Claire and explain that she's a fucking nutter with really weird expectations regarding us.

Almost forgot to archive, guys, but it's up now.

>(I also had hoped that the Chief making his home a command center was to force interaction upon him since she knew what was up)
>>
>>30033255
Are you referring to Kadokawa or Ayase?
>>
>>30033301
I suppose that's the best we are going to get.
>>30033378
Ayase.
>>
>>30033228
Thats true. Sure, she talks a lot, but it's not like she even requires much input from us to hold a conversation.
If we hadnt avoided her wouldnt even have been Overed, and we'd actually have a normal human acquaintance.
Im not even pushing for friend! just an acquaintance.
>>
Thanks for running, DXR! Fuck the haters, they're just taking this too seriously.
>>
So, am I the only one thinking that Claire only acts out so much because Captain's responses have been so cold? For some people, especially those without much experience with the opposite sex or social interaction in general, they feel like they have to up their game and get more and more extreme to get someone's attention. Claire has only increased her antics the more we've avoided her. Remember, the one time we praised her, she went on to do exactly what we wanted from her (and very well) without any further prompting. Maybe if we're nicer to her, she'll stop feeling like she has to continue to escalate in order for us to notice her?
>>
>>30033617
The relationship is in a death spiral. The more she acts out the more dismissive he gets and the more dismissive he gets the more she acts out. Eventually this situations is going to come to a head and end badly for both parties.
>>
>>30033679
We just have to be a little nice to her. Just a word of praise for something she actually does that we like. Like now, when she's being a little scared and genuinely demure, we could say that we liked that.
>>
>>30032623
>Everybody else is about the same.
Even Diablos?
>>
>>30033703
That's not behavior to encourage, especially when you know she would latch on to the tiniest praise and overemphasize whatever behavior she was exhibiting at the time, just becoming another irritating caricature. We need to firmly establish boundaries, such as informing her about the concept of personal space, which is not to be intruded on unless our life is in immediate danger; and that implications of sexual assault are not to be made when we are trying to speak to someone.
Just curb the disruptive behavior and maybe we can talk to each other like regular human beings "So, what was it like growing up with the UGN?"
>>
>>30033703
Oh you know she's just playing that up to get his attention. Like how she played up being hurt in the hospital.

The problem is is gotten to the point where he's so irritated with her that it would take her doing something extraordinary to elicit any sort of praise at all.
>>
>>30033781
You know, with his Syndromes, is possible for Diablos to completely change his appearance. Diablos might not even be a man, or hell, even human.
>>
>>30033849
It's possible, but I think Claire is really bad at understanding that kind of information. I mean, really, she seems to be convinced that we'll love her if she proves she'll gladly take any degradation we throw at her. She must know that it's not okay to hit or throw her around, since she lies about it on her reports. I think if we do explain things to her, it should be asking for some behavior we want. Obviously we can't say something like "don't be a freak" because she won't get it. Maybe something like: "Please keep that erotic talk for private times and please knock on my door to wake me up."

>>30033863
>Oh you know she's just playing that up to get his attention. Like how she played up being hurt in the hospital.
But Claire is a horrible actor. That's why she was instantly found out.
>>
>>30033936
>She must know that it's not okay to hit or throw her around, since she lies about it on her reports.
Urgh, that's... so ugly. Of course it happens in the spur of the moment (and I assume she is more durable than a regular human, despite not having one of the exceptional durability/regen syndromes), but I wonder if it would give the Captain pause to see that in a report.
>>
>>30034180
Maybe? I don't know. Captain seems to be developing vague feelings (like not being comfortable with an interrogation) but he's really something of an abusive asshole, even considering how annoying Claire is.
>>
>>30034481
It's actually scary easy to see Captain as a monster. Some kind of uncaring animal that ventures forth from its lair to feed, destroying everything that gets in its way, then goes back and sleeps the activity off.
>>
>this thread
Not sure if I'm glad or sad that I missed the shitstorm.
