The air is cold, musty, and has an unusual smell to it that’s somewhere between chlorine and copper. The room is dark and now that the Firushudot’s are gone it’s eerily quiet again, save for the sound of your heavy breathing and the pounding of your heart.Just as you stand up, finished with your rest, a familiar voice shouts out from the speaker of your walkie-talkie.“Bass? BASS! Are you there? What happened?”Pulling the Walkie-talkier off your hip you press a button on the side of it and speak as clearly as you can with your shortness of breath.“I’m fine Ira. I ran into a couple of nasty Reaverbots and had to fight them. I destroyed one, disabled another, and chased the other two off.”“Really? Good job!” Ira says letting out an audible sigh of relief before returning to her usual excited tone “Cruiser says you should bring that disabled Reaverbot up with you before you leave. Even if the insides are junk he can still use the shell “ “It’s pretty heavy and kind of big, do we have room to take it back?” You look over the remains of the two Firushudot’s as you speak. One is completely intact while the other is nothing but a pile of burnt, warped metal where not even the refractor shards survived its destruction. (Continued)
>>29948682“He says we might be able to fit it in the trunk or in the back seat. Bring it up whenever you feel you should and we’ll figure something out.”Placing the walkie-talkie back on your hip you think on what to do next. This place seems bigger than the Forest Ruin and so far it seems a lot more dangerous. You could leave the disabled Firushudot here and continue exploring, but something could happen to it or you could be forced to leave it behind due to a trap. The thing is pretty heavy and dragging it will no doubt make a lot of noise that might attract unwanted attention. Still, it is pretty valuable and no doubt has a lot of refractor shards inside that you can’t get too without busting open its shell. So, what do you want to do Bass?>[A] Attempt to drag the intact Firushudot back to the elevator and bring it topside.>[B] Leave the Firushudot ‘corpse’ here and continue exploring, you’ll get it later.>[C] Other (Write in)
>>29948701>[A] Attempt to drag the intact Firushudot back to the elevator and bring it topside.I don't trust whatever pseudo-ecology the Reaverbots operate on to not eat this thing while we're gone. Let's bring it back to Cruiser and then we can do more exploring if we still have time left in the day.
>>29948701> [A] Attempt to drag the intact Firushudot back to the elevator and bring it topside.
>>29948762>>29948777This thing is too valuable to just leave lying around. Taking off your Bustergun you grab the large, metallic crocodile and try to bring it back to the elevator so you can continue with your exploration...(Roll 1d20 to see if you can carry the dead Firushudot back to the elevator)
Rolled 20>>29948971Of course we can. Bass is the strongest.
>>29948991I BE THE BRASS BASS!
>>29949049>Yes it does>>29948991Grabbing the metal corpse with both hands you lift it over your head and set on your shoulder, carrying it to the elevator with little effort and almost no noise. It's times like this you're thankful of all those years you begrudgingly helped your father carry his heavier catches to market.Riding the elevator back to the surface you haul the Firushudot over to the car and load it into the back with a little assistance from Cruiser. "Wow! Nice catch! I don't think we'll have to worry about it waking up and tearing up my upholstery. That smell definitely means it's internal systems are about as cooked as a baked potato. Still, the shell is totally intact and I know I can make something useful out of it." Cruiser slams the rear door of the car as you look up and see the sun shining down from the clear blue sky. You still have plenty of daylight to burn and you've only been in the tower for about an hour. Do you wish to continue Digging or return to shore?
>>29949212Let's continue exploring. Have those two watch for anything suspicious while we're in - can't have some reaverbots come out to salvage that thing or give it a burial or something.
>>29949212Let's go digging. We've got time. Let's see if we can find what was making that rumbling noise. Hopefully not a giant Reaverbot.
>>29949249>>29949282>>29949258The day is still young and there's so much more to do, why stop digging now? You leave Ira and Cruiser to watch for anything suspicious as you return to the ruinous depths.Stepping off the elevator you walk into the hall. Do you want to return to where you were and continue exploring from there or do you want to check the hallway to the east? When you first entered you heard an odd grinding sound from from somewhere down that hall. What do you wish to do?>[A] Return to where you originally were and continue exploring from there.>[B] Check the Eastern Hallway and head south to check out the origin of that noise.>[C] Other (Write in)

>>29949595> [B] Check the Eastern Hallway and head south to check out the origin of that noise.Beware of ambushes, traps, all that. Be careful.
>>29949689>>29949678>>29949621Deciding to check out the noise you heard earlier, you take the hallway you skipped over and began walking down it, checking for traps with your extendable pole and looking for anything of interest. You pass another corridor and a door, but continue walking down the hall to fully explore it. It appears like all the other hallways you've walked through so, but you can tell that something has been through here recently as the dust on the ground has been obviously been disturbed by something large.Turning to the west you come to a dead end, but find an orange chest sitting up against the wall. Popping it open you find some kind a large, grey, key like device. In fact you don’t think it’s a device at all, it looks like a big key or something you’d club someone to death with. Unsure what do you with it you call it in.“Hey Ira, I found what looks like a big key…” “A key? That’s odd, why would a key be down there? Well maybe there’s something down there that takes it. I’d keep an eye out for anything it might go too.”You stuff the ‘key’ in your bag and go back to the door you passed. Opening it up, you step inside and find yourself in another room with water filled channels. Across the room you see two doors, the western one leads back to the room you fought the Firushudot’s in and the northern one leads back to the hallway you just walked in from. Before you can wonder why there’s a redundant hallway, you stop dead as you see something floating in the air in the darkness of the room. It’s hard to see them even with your headlamp, but floating in the air above the channels are six oddly shaped Reaverbots, your stomach turning a little as their appearance reminds you of fish.(Continued
>>29950294They haven’t spotted you yet, but that could easily change if you stand around gawking at them. If you’re quick maybe you can sneak past them and get to the southern door. Or maybe you could attack them and take them by surprise. Or you could try to see if you know what they are, but that could get you spotted and leave you vulnerable. What do you wish to do Bass?>[A] Try to sneak past them (Agility check 1d20)>[B] Catch them by surprise and attack! Rolled 4 + 3>>29950329>[C] Try to Identify them (1d20+3)
Rolled 18>>29950329>[B] Catch them by surprise and attack! (Roll to attack 1d20)
Rolled 20 + 3>>29950345Oops, forgot roll.
>>29950387YEAH!!! WE ARE A WALKING REAVERBOT ENCYCLOPEDIA!
>>29950420A shame we can't crit anymore.
>>29950435Well, I'm hoping we would be able to if we got it on the first roll, which technically, mine is.
>>29950459It's the third roll for that option, so it counts.
>>29950497No, but I forgot to roll, and I replied first.
Rolled 5, 10, 17, 11, 15, 2 = 60>>29950435(That's only for rolls with DC's over 20, I keep telling you guys this)>>29950387>20+3 = 23>CRITICAL SUCCESS!Instead of attacking or sneaking past, you try your best to identity them from afar, hoping they wouldn't spot you in the mean time. After a few minutes of hard thinking and remembering back to all the Reaverbots you've heard about you can safely say you've never heard of a Reaverbot like this.Sure you've heard of other, slimy, disgusting Fish-like Reaverbots before but nothing that matches this description. You have a limited array of knowledge, but considering how many different types of Reaverbots there are you may have very well discovered a new type! You have absolutely no idea what it can do, but you should name it so you have something to refer it by other then "disgusting evil fish Reaverbot"What do you want to call this Reaverbot Bass?
>>29950568No, that's too straightforward. Reaverbots require dumb names.>>29950533Let's call it the Gyorife, after the long tradition of fish-like Megaman enemies having "gyo" in their name. Which makes sense, since I think that's Japanese for "fish".
>>29950533I suggest Tri-Angler. In reference to Bass' fishing background.
Rolled 17>>29950533Fluffy bunny fish.
>>29950708Ok, I like this, very much.
Rolled 6>>29950790oh, I'll roll for it!
>>29950708Sounds alright with me.Keep observing them, see how they move or act.
Rolled 7, 1 = 8>>29950845>>29950790>>29950708(Tri-Angler wins with three votes, although I did like the sound of Gyroife)>>29950614Since most Reaverbots have odd or plain stupid names you decide to keep to this theme and name these new Reaverbots something appropriate. After a couple moments of thinking you decide on "Tri-Angler". Muzzlefish and Gyroife sound cool, but this is a FISH Reaverbot, why would you give a cool name to something that looks like a disgusting fish? Before you can feel giddy that you just named your first Reaverbot you look up to see two of the newly named Tri-Anglers floating towards you, apparently having spotted you while you were standing around trying to think of a good name for them. They don't seem to appreciate your hard work as they immediately attack you, firing bursts of something out of barrels on their bodies. >(Roll 1d20 to attempt to avoid the Tri-Angler's attacks)
Rolled 15>>29950922pleh easy we dodge
Rolled 14>>29950922Try and shoot while dodging.
Rolled 7>>29950922Imma roll too!
>>29950969Or dodge so they hit each other.
Rolled 19, 14 = 33>>29950949>17 vs 1 & 7>Success!With limited room to move or maneuver you throw yourself up against the nearby wall, the Tri-Angler's attacks missing and spraying the door behind you. Only one comes close to hitting you, the other just fires off into the wall next to it until it's weapon stops firing. You glance back at the door and see small dents in it from where the Tri-Angler's attacks hit, however it's also very wet. Where they firing super-pressured water at you or something?Regardless of what they were firing getting hit with it doesn't seem like a good idea. The Tri-Angler floating over the water (Tri-Angler 2) seems like it's still able to attack you, the one floating over the solid ground (Tri-Angler 1) appears to have a problem with it's weapon. You could fire on the one that could still attack you with your Buster Gun, or you could run up and destroy the closer Tri-Angler with a good kick or punch. What do you want to do Bass?
>>29951182Can we shoot the water in front of 2 to create a distraction and throw off its aim? Then we can go deal with 1 in melee.
Rolled 10Kill 2!!!
>>29951182Attack Tri-Angler 2. Tri-Angler 1 is having weapons difficulty, we can ignore it for the moment. Take out the one with access to a water supply. Move towards 1 as we fire, though, so we can immediately proceed to suplex it.
>>29951182Run up to the disabled on and unload on it, and then use its corpse as a shield for the attack of #2.Damn these captchas.
Rolled 11>>29951233There's a 5 foot drop to the water in the channel from ground level and that Tri-Angler is floating 9-10 feet above ground level. You don't think you could send water 15 feet into the air with a shot from your Bustergun, besides it's energy based, you'd need a ballistic or explosive weapon to do that since Buster Gun shots are energy based and would probably just turn some of the water into steam.>>29951326Taking aim at the combat capable Tri-Angler you fire a shot from your Buster Gun in the hopes of taking it out.(Roll 1d20 vs Tri-Angler's room to hit)
Rolled 16>>29951402aye aye bossman
Rolled 16>>29951402We might not be able to retrieve the remains if it falls in the water.
Rolled 3>>29951421>16 vs 11>Bass Hits! The Tri-Angler attempts to float to the right to avoid being hit, but your shot connects with it's flimsy body and blows it out of the air, sending it's smoking exploded remains into the murky waters below it.Across the room the other Tri-Angler's don't appear to have noticed the battle going on or heard their brethren blown to smithereens. While the other's float around ignorant of the battle, the other attacking Tri-Angler appears to be ready to fight again as it turns towards you and levels out it's barrel to fire. What do you wish to do?>[A] Run up and melee it before it can get a shot off!>[B] Get ready to evade>[C] Other (Write In)
>>29951671> [B] Get ready to evadeAnd follow it immediately with a blast to the face.
>>29951671>[A] Run up and melee it before it can get a shot off!Judging from the map the others won't aggro unless we start going down that pathway between the pools.
>>29951671>[A] Run up and melee it before it can get a shot off!
>>29951671>[A] Run up and melee it before it can get a shot off!Suplex that fish bot. It will be incredibly cathartic for Bass.
>>29951875>>29951849>>29951822You run up to the Tri-Angler and jump, throwing a kick at it in an attempt to smash it's slim, fragile body into pieces with a good smash from your steel toed boots. Anger wells up in you as you put some of your pent up hatred for fish into the attack.>(Roll 1d20 to relieve some stress by smashing this thing!)
Rolled 16>>29951994Punch its lights out. Try to keep it in one peace so we can salvage it.
>>29951822I could also be completely wrong, and the start shooting as soon as something enters their line of sight. In which case gg Bass.
Rolled 7>>29951994Fuck metal fish.
>>29952016Gritting your teeth you smash your foot into the hovering Reaverbot, shattering it's eye and pounding a foot sized dent into it's thin, triangular body. Sparks fly out violently from it's barrel nose and it drops like a rock, crashing to the floor mostly intact but sparking and fizzling violently as it's wrecked insides begin to catch fire. You look over and see the other Tri-Angler's still haven't moved on you, they float around, unaware you killed two of their comrades without so much as a scratch. You could try attacking them now, it's obvious they can't take a single shot from your buster gun and since it's obvious they have some issue or limitation in regards to detection, you might be able to shoot the four remaining Tri-Angler's down in rapid succession.Of course, you could always try sneaking past them or leaving for another room if you wanted too. What do you wish to do Bass?
>>29952349Strafe and fire?
>>29952349Keep going west...for now, at least.
>>29952349Charge Up and Shoot the closest one. Then again after we destroy the first one we shot.Continue until all are dead. Pretty much aggro only one of them and then kill that single bot. Repeat until all are dead.
>>29952349Do those things leave anything behind?Let's clean the room.
>>29952508They leave behind Crystals or shit. They should anyway.
>>29952349Try and loot the remains and then try and run into that door to the north.
>>29952349they seem to be more like worker reaverbots, so getting rid of them might prevent us from getting in trouble. I vote for getting rid of them
Also Crosswire, One of Bass Flaws is His Fear of Fish right? Can we [BREAK] Flaws and turn them into Virtue or something? Also, Cruiser Charisma Stat is low because he can't clean himself up. That must be one of his flaws, his hygiene. Cruiser seems to be able to have great ideas but lose track of what really important. Right now though, he didn't do any of that.Ira however got a fatal flaw due to her credit or shit. That why she can't get loans for shit. Likely due to her parents doing shit, her biological parents that affected Ira life.
>>29952726I think another flaw of Bass is his ambition. He fucking reckless as hell. But that what it takes to be a digger. There also Cruiser Wrestling shit. Cruiser can't handle someone calling Wrestling fake. He will fucking FLIP AND LARIOT THE ONE WHO SPOKE LIES!
>>29952726(Most flaws are permanent and are an aspect of the character, some flaws are more like disadvantages and can be gotten rid of with a lot of effort) >>29952627>>29952614>>29952508You search the Tri-Angler you destroyed and find 500 zenny, you'd search the one that fell into the water but you don't want to risk ruining your equipment or getting attacked by what could very well be lurking underneath the murky surface.>>29952458>>29952417>>29952692Raising your Bustergun you begin moving down the path towards the other Tri-Anglers. Aiming carefully, you fire off four shots in rapid secession, attempting to rid yourself of these Reaverbots quickly so you can continue your exploration.(Roll 4d20, only the first group of rolls will be accepted)
Rolled 11, 20, 14, 10 = 55>>29953216
Rolled 1, 18, 7, 10 = 36>>29953216I doubt these things would even pose a threat.
Rolled 6, 6, 6, 11 = 29>>29953216
Rolled 14, 5, 13, 17 = 49>>29953300DOUBLE DUBS.THE NUMBER OF THE DEVIL
>>29953257>11, 20, 14,10>ALL HITS CONNECT!Four shots leave your Bustergun and four shots hit their targets, one in particular completely obliterates a targets while the other three manage to do their job and send the Tri-Angler's into the drink below. The room is empty now and you can continue west through the door and continue your exploration. What do you wish to do Bass?
>>29953537Let's head south.
Rolled 17, 9, 11, 8 = 45>>29953537Go south. There a reason why there were turrets. Also, can we have a full map on the dudgenon.Or at least the parts we been through. It confusing where we came from or where we already walk through.
>>29953537Dive and collect those 500 zenny from the remains. Let no money be lost.
Rolled 7, 7, 13, 14 = 41>>29953537Wait a minute.Gyroife? The fuck?>>29953657NO ANON.The buster isn't water proof. It also not fucking safe.The Zenny isn't worth the risk. Keep on moving.
>>29953576>Also, can we have a full map on the dudgenon.I barely understood that due to the awful grammar but sure. Here's the full map and the parts you've already been through.
>>29953716lets head west.
>>29953716Thanks Crosswire. The upper path in the room we are is completely useless though. Why built it anyway?Unless it a fucking trap.Still, I think we should go south.
>>29953760I prefer going away from the sound first, but okay.
>>29953760Remember, the ruins aren't intended to be functional as habitation. They're the scattered remains of the Elder System, our ability to move around in them is largely coincidental to their purpose. Of course, what purpose actually is remains ambiguous, since Legends 3 never got made. All we know is that it's probably capable of killing everyone, if the ruins were ever reconnected and activated. Which they were at the end of Legends 2. Which was five years ago, roughly, in this continuity. So the whole planet is basically a bomb waiting to go off. And we're poking around in its mechanisms.
>>29953942Wait what?ALL THE RUINS ARE CONNECTED?Ah shit. That happened 5 years ago? That some bad shit. AH.The week of ruin. That what happened. Still, a fucking ticking bomb. But we got to do something about it. It a TICKING bomb.AKA, it gonna blow up sometime. Might as well try to stop it than to do nothing and certainly die.
>>29953574>>29953576>>29953760>>29953806You make your way south through the door and navigate a confusing hallway before heading through another southern door, entering another large room filled with water. This time however there doesn't appear to be any Reaverbots in it. Water flows in from tunnels on the southern and eastern walls, which flow through channels built into the northern wall, probably connecting to the other rooms in this ruin.To west you see another door and to the east you see a single chest sitting alone against the wall. There's a gap in the floor where the channel is. There isn't a metal plate to walk over like there is with the other channel to the west.Still, you could easily jump the gap to get to the chest, but one slip up and you'd end up in the water, or worse, sucked into the channel and carried god knows where. What do you wish to do Bass?>[A] Ignore the chest, go East and continue exploring. >[B] Try and leap the gap to get to the chest, it's not too big. >[C] Other (Write in)
>>29954050>>[B] Try and leap the gap to get to the chest, it's not too big.
>>29954050Go for it.But leave the Buster on the ground if we kinda fuck up the jump. We can just get the chest and then put on the buster back on again.
>>29954050get as close as possible and shoot the chest first. I will never forget the first time one of those things attacked me.
>>29954143....SHIT.Shoot the chest first. Not a charge shot but a normal shot.If not a trap, then jump.
>>29954165Oh yeah. It would suck if it was a mimic or bomb chest. Tough those can be worth a lot of zenny if you destroy them before they attack. Hey, Crosswire, could we get our hands on the Vacuum Arm sub-weapon at any point? Or is that really more of a game abstraction thing that wouldn't carry over to this quest? Because it would make things a lot easier.
>>29954050No picture?>[B] Try and leap the gap to get to the chest, it's not too big.

Rolled 14So its Bass' name Bass or Bass?
Calm yourselves people. It's from where the water is coming.
I say go up north, then west.
>>29954477Characters named Bass in Megaman usually pronounce the name like the musical range. But this Bass commented that he thinks he was named that because his dad's a fisherman, so it might be pronounced like the fish.

If you really want a vacuum arm you could try finding parts for it, just don't expect it to operate like it does in the game, especially since Zenny doesn't magically fly out of defeated enemies here.)>>29954165>>29954143You're at first tempted to get a running start and hop across the gap to loot the chest, eager to find what new treasure you've stumbled across. However as you realize the out of place peacefulness of the room and how nothing has tried to kill you you stop and realize this seems a little suspicious. Raising your Bustergun you decide to test the waters and fire a regular shot at the chest to make sure nothing is wrong with it.Flying the short distance to the chest, the ball of energy smacks into the chest and at first doesn't appear to have done anything. Moment later however the Chest begins to shake violent and LITERALLY sprouts a pair of legs and charges straight towards you.It immediately falls through the gap in the floor between you and it, crashes into the water, and is swept into the channel by the flow of water, the violent snapping of it's lid fading away as it's carrier into the darkness.(Continued)

Massive pipes cover the length of the ceiling and many more stick out of the floor, connecting this way and that way to the strange but obviously advanced devices that take up a good portion of the room. There's a lot of condensation coming off the pipes and the room is as wet as the rooms with the open channels of water in them. If you had to take a guess you'd have to say these machines much be a smaller part of this ruin's pump or purification system considering all the water in here is fresh when all the water outside is salty sea water.A search turns up no physical controls and you doubt you can take any of these machines with you, whole or in pieces, without destroying them and disrupting whatever system they are connected too. What do you wish to do Bass?>[A] Leave these machines alone and continue exploring.>[B] Destroy these machines>[C] Other (Write in)

The guy who first discovered and reverse engineered that technology got rich off it.""Is it worth any money now?" You ask."Not really, just about every proper settlement has one and disassembling one of those and hauling it topside would probably be and cause more trouble then it's worth. Still, the fact that ruin is purifying water means it's being used for something...or whoever made the ruins was crazy. Ether way keep your eyes peeled for anything weird."You head North and enter the room you fought the Firushudot's in, finding that it's still empty and the fiendish metal crocs haven't returned. >>29956472>20+3= 23>CRITICAL SUCCESS You search and room and while you don't find any traps, you do find a gun in the corner, probably thrown and knocked out of the hands of the dead guy who know lies in the middle of the room. It appears to be an old machinegun of sorts and it's in pretty bad condition, the barrel is bent, the magazine is flattened and what's left of the wooden stock is rotting away. Still, stuff is stuff and you decide to take it for Cruiser to work with.Going over to the corpse you cover your mouth and give it a good look over while trying not to dwell on the smell for fear of getting sick. The body is obviously that of a human, he or she probably would have stood around 5,9 or 5,10 though with all the diving gear your estimation on the individuals size might very well be skewed. You can't see the person's face but a quick glance through the torn up and damaged diving suit shows that the body is skeletal and looking probably wouldn't help you at this point.Taking out your Walkie-Talkie you call Ira."Hey Bass, what did you find now?""A body.""A body? Oh no...""Don't worry it's been here for a while considering the gear on him and the fact it's less of a body and more of a skeleton now. I was wondering if you could use your medical knowledge to help me figure out how this guy died.""Sure, I just need you to check some things for me. It's going to mean looking over the body so I hope you brought gloves..."You don't have gloves, but you have a spare t-shirt you didn't intend to wear. After a few minutes of Ira's medical questions and manhandling the skeleton Ira's finally able to give you an answer."That guy was definitely crushed. There's no way the rip cage or arms would look like that." "Crushed? But there aren't any traps in this room...""Then that probably means there's something in there big enough and strong enough to crush a full grown man with ease. Please be careful!""I will. Thanks." You think about taking the diving helmet, but considering it had a rotting human head in it for a couple years you decide against it and instead take the ruptured oxygen tank with you. It's useless now and kind of heavy, but it fits in your bag and you have a feeling Cruiser might be able to do something with it.You check the body to try to find some ID, but all you can find is a water proof tube with some faded papers roll up inside that you can't really read. Stuffing them in your bag all that's left to do is pay your respects and move on.Where do you wish to go now Bass?

They are called Kurugurus and they're somewhat comparable to a turtle, if a turtle had jaws to crush and rip peoples legs off with. They're slow and heavily armored, but they can charge very quickly when people get close to them and are infamous for taking more Digger's legs then any other Reaverbot. Kurugurus have an almost impenetrable shell, but they have a soft underbelly. Problem is you need to flip them to get to it, or if you have explosives just toss them underneath. How you're supposed to flip them without being made a lot shorter is beyond you.Still, these Kuruguru's aren't exactly fast, maybe you could leap over them before they notice you. What do you wish to do Bass?

>>29957816>>29957877>>29957885Since you don't know how to flip one of the Kuruguru's over and you don't want to risk getting your legs bitten off trying to learn, you decide the safest place to be is on their backs. It's not like they have arms or anything so what are they going to do? Getting a running start towards one of the Kuruguru's (Kuruguru 1) you kick off and leap towards it in the hope of landing on it's back. Due to being pretty wide this is rather easy and you manage to land and steady yourself with very little effort. Quickly the platform like back of the Kuruguru begins to wobble and it soon realizes you're on it's back. The Kuruguru begins to thrash violently underneath you, but you manage to hold your steady. Lowering your Bustergun you get ready to take a shot at the Kuruguru's eye when you feel a sudden lurch in your stomach as the Kuruguru propels itself high into the air with tremendous power, throwing you off from the sheer force and sending you falling downwards towards the water below.Desperately you try to straight yourself out, reaching out to grab the ledge of the walkway...(Roll 1d20)

You're nearly backed up against the wall at this point and have even less room to maneuver. Please do that right now."You look at the room full of chests with awe and dread, knowing that any of them, or all of them could be homicidal treasure chests that could easily sprout legs and chase you down if disturbed.Taking out your extendable pole, you begin to carefully and methodically search the room for traps.(Roll 1d20+3)
Rolled 4 + 3>>29960120
Rolled 13 + 3>>29960120
Rolled 18 + 3>>29960120
Rolled 1 + 3>>29960120roll for trap and treasure
>>29960151thank god your late.
>>29960120>>29960143GOOD SHIT!!!>>29960151FUCK YOU 1, WE DODGE YOU ONCE AGAIN.Fisher Bass is too good of a Fox Hound Soldier.
>>29960151that's the third 1 that Bass dodged right? Crossfire reduced the number of rolls to 3 with the intent of having less crits right?damnit Bass, just....you boss.
>>29960239Not boss.Big Boss.
>>29960143>18>SUCCESS After a good 30 minutes of poking, prodding, and careful observations you can safely say the room is not booby trapped. The chests however could be regular, crazy, or for all you know stuffed full of explosives. The large chest obviously seems important, but for all you know that could be a trap too. You could try triggering the chests one by one, but for all you know they could ALL be homicidal and could trigger all at once. You have a gut feeling there is a key in here somewhere, but at the same time you really doubt there's nothing in this room that won't try to kill you if you do something stupid. So how do you want to approach things Bass? You need to find that Key...
>>29960315Open them from the side, and either have the buster ready or a mirror to keep watch of all the other chests.
>>29960315SHOOT a charged shot at the big chest.
>>29960315>18you mean 21
>>29960315>>29960339This vote man.
>>29960352Yeah, I forgot to add the three
>>29960315Stay by the east exit, shoot one, wait, see what happens. If they all pop out as mimics, gtfo; if the one is a mimic, kill it, then loot the zenny, return to the doorway, and repeat
>>29960365>>29960339Combine these two. Test each chest with a buster shot first, and if it doesn't respond open from the side. Even without mimics there are bomb chests.
>>29960393Sounds good to me
>>29960403Don't forget that we have a pole. We just need to be careful and keep a good distance. Still.. it may also be a test.
>>29960339>>29960361>>29960393>>29960403Staying by the close to the east exit, you raise your Bustergun and fire off a shot at one of the chests to see what happens. Immediately you get to see what happens as the chest explodes, causing a violent chain reaction that causes chest, after chest to explode in a rapid chain reaction that quickly travels through the small chests towards you...>(Roll 1d20 to try and avoid the blasts...)
Rolled 16>>29960566Well. That's just great. Maybe we can at least get some shards out of it.
>>29960566>>29960586Dodge that Chain Explosion like a boss.
>>29960625Hopefully knowing it was likely a trap and seeing the explosion chain gave us a bonus in some way.
>>29960586>16>Success!Reacting quickly you open the eastern door and throw yourself into the hall, the force of the blasts enhancing your momentum and sending you crashing into the adjacent wall.Despite it hurting the blow hasn't too bad and entering back into the room you see it could have been a lot worse, as all the chests besides the large one were gone, only black scars on the ground were left to mark the existence of the devious chests. Walking up to the large chest, you do a few quick checks and eventually pop the lid. Reaching inside you pull out another large key, almost identical to the one you found before.Backing away from the large chest, you keep an eye on it till you leave the room and exist back into the hallway. There was only one more section of the ruin you haven't checked yet, and only more more key left to find. What do you wish to do Bass?
>>29960852Go and get the last fucking key.BASS, ACTION HERO.Man. After the shit Bass did from the first ruin run to the torture scene to the girl betraying to the exploive escape.Bass life as a digger been nothing more than Action hero shit.
>>29960852Head around the corner.
>>29960852Head south and ask our friends if they have any ideas on how to beat the turtles?
>>29960852Welp, time to search the final area that is NOT a boss room before heading back. Place has been pretty light zenny wise, hopefully that gator has all that delicious refractor still inside it.
>>29960931we already know thoughexplosives
>>29960939This. Get to the last key, get the whole map filled and GTFO.
>>29960939So we still have the tower and the large island to go.
>>29960958Is it know in character? Can the car fit in the elevator?
>>29961003Even if it could, I don't think we could drive it through the hallways. If we do manage to beat those things, I want armor crafted from their shells.
>>29961054hmmmm maybe a EMP grenade instead of a frag may be need for that
>>29961054I was thinking that maybe those nice big guns from the car could help against them.
>>29961054Maybe we should ask crosswire about if the car can make it through the hall ways/elevator.
>>29961086We really need some skills in disarming traps. Those chests could've been used for explosives.
>>29960896>>29960906>>29960931You head south and make your way through another large, winding hallway, eager to find the last key and discover what's behind that locked door. After what seems like ages you finally come to a door and enter into a large open room. Immediately you spot the glimmer of orange in the distance and see another large orange chest up against the back wall. Just as you leave the doorway to go over to it however, large metal grates slide over the exits and a large, menacing red eye stares at you from out of the darkness.Coming into view of your headlamp you recognize it almost immediately as it raises it's arms to attack.A Hanmuru Doll is defending the last key...(And this is where we'll end things tonight)
>>29961213Shit.So Crosswire, what do we earn in this run due to 20 rolls and actiosn?
>>29961213can you show us the map?
>>29961213HAHA TIME FOR SotCNext thread is going to be good
>>29961213Neat. ETA on the next thread?
>>29961213Oh my. We do not have the weaponry needed to take it on. Well, next time should be fun. Sorry, I meant "fun".Seriously, though, fun thread. See you next time, Crosswire. Are you doing AGE Quest this weekend, too?
>>29961271Well if we do beat it, we should be able to get a weapon or something out of him that allows us to take the turtles on.
Thanks for running Crosswire.Great thread as always.
>>29961229Nothing. If you read the modified rules I posted you'd learn that I kind of gave up trying to make the 'organic' experience system work. It was too unbalanced and difficult to maintain for me.Bass gains 800 experience for his hard work today. He only needs 3200 points to get to level 4. Once he levels up you can spend points on skills, talents, and other such things, it's a lot easier for me.>>29961271>>29961266To be honest I REALLY need more time to plan and prepare for Gundam AGE Quest. So to be honest, I think I actually might pull double duty with Digger Quest and run the conclusion of this tomorrow since I have things set up and ready to roll for this Quest unlike in AGE Quest in which I'm trying to figure out a few things. How does that sound?http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29948682/
>>29961213FUCK.A Team of Diggers Get WRECK by a Hanmuru Doll.We superfucked UNLESS.We focus on all our shit we earn on this thread for the upcoming battle.
>>29961326Fantastic, but at what time?
>>29961326Yeah, that's fine, Crosswire. Out of curiosity, though, what are you deliberating about AGE Quest? Is it plot or rules that needs revision? ADX got shared last thread, are you thinking about switching to it?
>>299613562:30-3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, I'll post what time up on my Twitter. >>29961363Yes. I'm thinking of switching over and trying ADX or a modification of it to see if it works better then what I'm currently using. That and I need to plan some stuff out for Jake's Grand Adventure in time and space, because really it's a complicated deal and I need to try to make it fun while also making it so what happens during this doesn't bite me in the ass later on.
>>29961402So Crosswire, will the feats and the stats we going to get are higher/better due to how little we going to earn those things?
>>29961437I honestly have no idea what you're trying to ask me, I can't understand what you wrote.
>>29961437Shit.I mean, Are the Stats and Feats are going to come in a bunch or be better due to how little/rare/hard it is to level up.
>>29961475You'll have the option to spend points on increasing your stats, increasing your skills, getting new skills, or buying talents. How many points you get to spend that level depend on what you accomplish to get to that level.
>>29961512We dodge, strafe and kill reavorbots. We were smart enough to see through traps. We jumped, got rocketed off, did a backflip and caught the edge with a single hand. Almost lost a limb.Check out traps in the treasure room and manage to dodge an chain explosion with no harm. And now we gonna fight a fucking Doll. You know, something that kills a Group of Diggers in direct combat.
>>29961363It's probably switching to the new system.Or thinking of new ways how to ruin Dirk's day.
>>29962024Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take that into consideration.
>>29961402ADX has a lot of neat concepts, but I'm not sure how well it would work for AGE Quest. Managing the fate point economy might get a little hard for a communally-controlled character. Also, the AGE Builder would be difficult to implement. Either it would be incredibly over-powered or just become set dressing. You should definitely rip some of its rules, especially mecha Generations and the Drive Die, but I think they'd do better tacked onto the existing system than as a complete replacement.Thinking about it, Legends of the Wulin might work better. Rippling rolls and conditions work nicely to simulate the back and forth of mecha combat, with Lesser Legends and Minions for when a fight doesn't deserve that level of detail. The system for acquiring chi conditions would also work well for the AGE Builder. "Oh, you want to modify your beam cannon to have immense power but consume so much energy that your thruster suffer for it? Great, make me an Engineering roll to create a paired Hyperactivity/Weakness condition." Unique systems that require more detail than a simple stat tweak could be represented as buying new techniques. Chi would represent a general abstracted pool of our remaining endurance, ammunition, energy supplies and willpower. And Destiny Entanglement is great for letting us give mechanical weight to our narrative choices. I think that could actually work pretty well. I'm up for working out some AGE Lore Sheets if you'd like, even. Just give me a few days, I have a project I should finish before I start any major hobby-related work.>Whoops, somehow deleted my post. How do I computers?
