Previously: A young rocket leads a team to re-secure the Vermillion Power plant from a compromised staff, her secondary team finds the culprit, and they move to engage after a grueling series of stairs... so many stairs...
A young rocket declares war on stairs! Stairs are forever her enemy!

By coordinating with her team, she takes down the target, the young hound going in for the overkill in a rage of blood! The young rocket cools his head, literally! They turn over the hybrid monster to the authorities and report to their boss after the Head Esper of Saffron passes her cruel eye over a fighter, while smiling gently to her only offspring!

Espeons are a menace to the dome! A young ranger reports to her boss, assessing her team with a clear head!

What now lies in store as this City-wide mission comes to a close!? Stay tuned to find out!

Would upgrading Ice Shard improve Icicle Gun or does that only improve with Water Gun upgrades?

How does it interact with the level buff from the freezer array?
>>
>>29836770
I say Snarl, Rest, and Ice Shards to start with.

I think it'll cost 7 to get those upgraded, which should leave us enough to get Icy Wind upgraded as well.

>It counts as Ice. It improves with both.
So, just making sure I have this right, but it gets a lethality boost over Water Gun and then also gets a buff from the +1level from the FA?
>>
>>29836864
What's the cost for Ice Ball anyway? Should we consider it as if it was (0), except usable?
>>
>>29836852
I'd replace ice shards with thrown weapons, to keep them at the same level. Quick attack is also way too useful with everything to not have at least 1 point in it.
>>
>>29836864
Professor how much stamina does Bubblebeam cost?
>>
>>29836674
want put some into rest, nasty plot, water gun, and or frosty breath.
>>
>>29836925
Feint Attack and Quick Attack occupy the same general niche, though a level in it isn't a bad idea.

And I suggested upping Ice Shards because it upgrades icicle gun as well.
>>
>>29836918
Yes.
>>29836949
For stamina costs I take the total PP of a pokemon move by canon and base it off of how the percentage for how many times it can be used.
There are exceptions to this however, and a few notable ones that will always put you at 0 stamina.
>>
I'd say
Icy wind +1 (cost 4) (trying to unlock blizzard)
Sleepwalk +2 (cost 2)
Thrown weapon +2 (cost 3)
Snarl +1(cost 2)

4+2+3+2=11
>>
I hope we get psybeam and bubble beam up to at least one rank.

I mean, they're basically alternate firing modes on our water gun. Grenade/mine mode and ethereal blast. Good for attack shaping.
>>
>>29837004
Sleepwalk doesn't upgrade itself. It's part of Rest. You gotta put points into that.

The rockets file out of Giovanni's office, you find yourself the last to leave, with the feeling of Devon's stare drilling into the back of your head before he finally marches on out.

Your review seems to have put everyone in a good mood except for him as you see him stomping away, down the hall.
As you watch after the evil ranger, his spaded tail flicking with agitation, you feel a hard slap upon your back, snapping you out of the lull of the depressing mood.
You arch your back away from the hit and kind of noodle yourself around it uncomfortably in your surprise.
“Figured you needed that.” You turn to see Bruise, smirking at you, his hand moving to gently squeezer your shoulder.
“I... I'm okay Bruise.” You touch your arm sullenly, your mind flashing back to the things that Devon said at the penthouse, with his mouth all bloody.

“No you're not,” Bruise leans in close, his face not far from yours,”I've been training with you long enough to know when something's bothering you. I know what he did was pretty messed up. You don't have to work with him again though, you know?”
You stare at bruise for a moment before blinking your second eyelids, something that always proves to take him aback. Smiling a little sadly, you look to the others as they leave.
Goldie's still kind of giddy with whatever happened earlier, Alexis following a few paces after. Devon's by himself, and Sanna must be running right back to her room, leaving the two of you alone.

You know yourself that you'd just like to fall into bed at a time like this. It's shaping up into the evening after the long day.

I'm leaning towards Ice Shards myself. UNLESS quick attack lets us quick draw our water guns?

“How about we go down to the cafe for some food? Or out into Saffron for a restaurant or something-you know, since we've got the...” He pauses for a moment,”On second thought, I think everyone still might be scared after the lock-down.” Chuckling, he parts from you, scratching his head.

You blush a little beneath your fur, kind of unsure on what kind of offer that was. It sounded like something an adult does.

>>
>>29837219
I like your build. Rest and something Icy is a good thing.

I'd prefer Ice Shards over Quick attack, because it would improve the Icicle Gun.

Psybeam is just kind of a why thing. We have far better espers than anything we can put out. We operate in squads for a reason.

Maybe get both Ice Shards and Quick attack and leave Psybeam alone?
>>
>>29837226
We're tired, visit Lilac tomorrow.

[X] Well, we could try... How about a swim?

Give Bruise a hug, the fluffiest hug we can.

"How about we grab some food and hit the water. I could use a chance to just relax, swim a bit.

You're a good guy Bruise, thanks."
>>
>>29837219
If people want this, we need to decide on whether or not we get Ice Shards or Quick Attack.

>>29837261

>>
>>29837226
>[X] I want to vist Lilac.

Icy Wind (5) - 4
Rest (4) - 3
Ice Shards (3) - 2
Quick Attack (2) - 2

>>29837313
Psybeam is useful for confusion, and it'd be nice to be able to have a little variety.
Besides, it's not that expensive.
>>
>>29837313
That's also an option, we'd just use all 11 skill points we have right now. Would everyone be fine with that?

What would Psybeam even upgrade into?

What situation would we use it in that it would outclass Goldie/Alexis or any of our Water or Ice moves?

Really not trying to be a whining sore loser about this, but I'm genuinely curious. What is good about this thing at all other than the fact that "Psionic Laser" sounds cool?
>>
>>29837788
Well, what won it over was the fact that it can't be blocked by barricades.
>>
>>29837788
Gives us more options. What if we get in a fight with an ice monster? Would be nice to have something that it wont resist.
>>
>>29837788
It's not about outclassing Espers, bro.
It's about variety. Possible combos. Flexibility.

What would it upgrade into? I'm not actually sure. If we like it, we could find out. But if no one does, then well, we won't.

Set 2 it is. Cerulean enters the psybeam.

>>29837788
It could become Psyshock, psywave, and maybe heal-pulse with training.

>>29837833
Indeed. As a non-esper you'll always be outclassed by espers when it comes to esper ability.
Just like you'll always outclass them when it comes to shooting water.
>>
>>29837853

>>29837853
>Psyshock
>Heal Pulse
Ooo, that's intriguing.

But next XP haul I want us to focus on water upgrades.

I want Surf, damn it
>>
>>29837788
There's a few things I like about Psybeam:

1.) It provides good coverage if there aren't any espers available.

2. ) We can use it in conjunction with our other attacks.

3.) If can bypass barricades, meaning it goes through walls, which is always a good thing.
>>
>>29837817
Yes, but we can't see or otherwise sense through them accurately like Goldie or Alexis can.

Wall penetration is neat, but the only way it will be a good chance of hit is if it's a small barrier that they're ducked behind, and if that's the case then AoE from Icy Wind would probably be better.

>>29837832
Ice doesn't resist anything other than Ice. Water does fine.

>>29837833
We have a squad for coverage.

>>29837853
>It could become Psyshock, psywave, and maybe heal-pulse with training.
>heal-pulse
>Psyshock
Ok. THAT won me over. Psybeam wasn't as bad as I thought initially.
Well, it is bad. It can just become something better.
>>
>>29837853
Question; how will upgrading our psychic moves affect our interaction with other psychics? Does it make us more susceptible? Would we resonate more with beneficial psychic affects? Would we be be able to better resist psychic moves?

>>
>>29837905

Should Cerulean learn how to dive too? Or how to cut things?
>>29837925
For Cerulean it's classified as an esper-like. Psybeam interacts with something's mind thus it doesn't strike at the flesh alone.
>>29837955
It also works with lock-on.

Psyshock's implement would basically be a psychic surge that could eventually smash boulders while not originating in the mind.

You mull it over in your head for a moment, as he looks down to you, running his fingers over his cornrow braids. Lilac played a pretty big role in this whole thing, but she didn't get any reward or congratulations... It kind of sucks.
“I.. I want to tell Lilac how this all went. She should know. It might be nice to get her something too...”
Bruise raises an eyebrow among his gray skin,” You'd like to get her something now?”
You struggle with that for a moment before shaking your head,”Yeah, no.. Now's not a good time. I should ask her what she likes.. Ahh.. Could you maybe come with me to do that?”

Bruise's eyes go wide for a moment before his posture turns decidedly nervous,”I-well. Heh, I don't know if I should be asking that. You know the way she looks at me sometimes.”
“What about the way Kitty looks at you?” You say with a bit of a pout.
“That-” He points to emphasize the point, as if it's needed,”That is different.”

With a sigh, you let it go,”I'll just go alone, thanks for nothing Bruise.”
“Hey, wait a second Cerulean.” Bruise tries to get you to stop, but you're already walking away.

You give him a tired wave, this whole thing with him is kind of complicated, isn't it?

===================================
You arrive at the graven spire, it's a bit later, though there's still time for the last tram.
Place is spooky and haunted as it always is, but it's kind of a nostalgic feeling, if that makes sense for one as young as you. It feels kind of like home, a home away from home where you have a lonely friend.

You approach the Miko at the door. Another different one on the rotation. You can tell their minor differences in their height, their hair color. Yet they've never given you their names.
“Hi I'm here to see Lilac.” He smile at her, awaiting the smoke test.
>>

In 1v1 fights it would resist Bug, Dark, and Ghost while being immune to Psychic, Fighting, and Normal.

Then STAB+Supereffective against Fighting, Poison, Ghost, Psychic, Dark, and Dragon while having unresisted neutral against everything else.

-Absolutely disgusting-

The Miko looks at you, moving a strand of hair behind her ear carefully,”Hm? Ah, visitor. I am sorry. You are not allowed to see Lilac, she is being punished right now.”

Your heart drops, and your jaw slacks a little with worry welling in your eyes,”I... What? Why? Why is she being punished?”
The Miko frowns at you,”I am sorry visitor, this concern is of the Spire. I must ask you to leave unless you are here to see a resident.”

God damn it Agatha, you're mean.

We have 19 Charm now, it's time to use it.

Ask the Miko for more information, try to look cute, mention that we're Lilac's friend if it helps.

Once we've got as much information out of her as we can then try to charm her into letting us in anyway, but that probably won't work and we'll have to demand entry.

Your raise yourself on your toes a little bit, swaying back and forth with an averted gaze, the kind that you've used now and again to manipulate those that see past your monstrous appearance and see how adorable you really are.
“So.. I really can't see Lilac... I wonder what happened.” You act disinterested as the miko looks down on you, her somber gaze trademark for her position. The stagnant, fragranced air of the Graven Spire looms around the two of you, drawing shadows across your visage.
“Is it really such a big deal if you tell me? I just want to know what's going on with my friend.” You appear genuinely disappointed, as you rightly are.

The Miko's face still looks past you, through you even at this point, holding her ground.
“Please?” You finally offer with a really pouty lip and she squints her eyes closed, finally folding.

“Visitor, I know Medium Lilac is your friend. As her friend, you should know that she is disallowed-by Agatha from chanelling and especially from-” She goes quiet, opening her eyes. Leanin down she whispers,”Eating them.”
She brings herself back up into position,”I am sorry Visitor. I can not allow you to enter unless you are here for a resident. The Medium Lilac is indisposed due to her misdeeds.” She sets herself right back to the dutiful maiden that guards the spire.

Ceru isn't expected to remember the protocols of the Spire and the way they work is kept a mystery to everyone else. In fact, Ceru has a reputation for being quite disciplined. If she was properly educated on what's expected of a medium, she'd be a good influence on Lilac.

>I'd allow it.
>>
>>29839991
The problem, I think, is that many of the rolls you give us often require a roll on the 16-20 range. And 5 rolls can be harmful when there's a chance for a 1 to pop up and make it a crit failure. I believe someone raised the probability of a 1 coming up to you? Either here or in the QTG.

I still prefer Psybeam being more of a mind scrambler.

'Filling' a bubble with psychic energy sounds ridiculous to me, but if Prof. allows it with POKESCIENCE, then by all means, we'll use it if something boils down to it.
>>
>>29840173
It's still a horrible system.
>>
>>29840115
That sounds like it's just Psychic damage and not the psychic/water/ice/normal combo you were saying.

No, its just that twelve is the number i think of when i think small child. Once it was pointed out i remembered.

Been here from thread 1 actually. I was the guy who kept bugging the Prof about Bruises pastebin saying no implants.

>>29840204
Mind scrambling explosive bubbles will confuse and stun and damage enemies.
>>
>>29840204
Oh, well, if we can infuse stuff with psychic energy....

Idea: What if we infuse our icicles with them? We can shoot them into the ground in a circle to set up some sort of "psychic" field that confuses people inside it. Maybe act as an amplifier for the abilities of other psychics too.

Hey, uh, professor, I just had a suggestion.

If none of this stuff is secret, why don't you put the 'final form' of some moves in the pastebin? It would clear up a lot of this mindless chatter.

Like, list the prerequisites, and what have you.
>>
>>29840247
That's it, I now support Psybeam to the fullest extent. Goes through walls, hits people like it's a goddamn flashbang. It can even upgrade to different useful shit.

>>29840271
I still don't like it; shouldn't psychic energy be more like something you channel through concentration? It makes pseudo-sense by 'containing' it with bubbles, but just infusing it with the ice is something out of fantasy.
>>
>>29840388
>>29840383
We have to have either mystic water or be in water for that
>>
>>29840407
I think you've got it backwards dude. Water Gun training is pure power, whereas the bubble-line is training to create special effects to stun/confuse opponents.
>>

We just got Psybeam for that. If you really wanna do water and confuse, shoot them at the same time.

Besides, I imagine Hydro Pump is more about strength of blast, not the amount of water.
>>
>>29840433
the flashbang part was more from the combo of stunning with explosive bubblebeamness and the confusion was from the psybeam part.

for flashbang effect you need both
>>
>>29840439

You look down to the ground, nearly defeated without much left to say. Lilac's getting punished because of you. But that's not fair. No. You're the one that did wrong. You sniffle, feeling a tear welling within your feline eyes, the quiver of your second eye-lids sends it streaking down the tracks in your fur.
“I-it's not fair,” You blubber, your eyes starting to sting from the salt,” I'm the one that got her in trouble, why's she the one getting punished? She should punish me instead. Lilac's not the one that should be in trouble...” You *hic* as you try to keep your words coming out.
“I-I'll t-take the blame. J-just don't hurt Lilaaaac.” You sob out, burying your tears in the fur of your arms.

The Miko sighs finally, not quite keen on touching you,”I'm afraid that we can't do that Visitor. You are not under Agatha's domain, she cannot punish you for what Medium Lilac has done.”
“B-but, I was the one th-that...”
“She should have offered the task to another. She knows what she has been forbidden.”

With her same solemn look,”I must ask you to leave now visitor. You make the spirits restless.”

Defeated, and still crying you finally give up, taking the tram home without seeing your friend. You rub away at your eyes with your fur, only to find a bit more irritation at the sparsely shedding hairs from your fur.
During your ministrations, you feel something sharp poke your cheek, “Oww...” You sigh, feeling a spot of blood wet beneath your head. Looking to your arm, you see something sharp and white, slightly translucent, poking through. You hadn't noticed it before.

On the way home, you're fascinated by this new development with your body, finding that there's a few other spots that itch a bit as other little bumps can be felt on the outside of your arm.

You'll need to get yourself checked out by a professor or something...

Now that you say it like that, I imagine it like this.

You can use psychic energy to warp materials so that they can be more conductive of it. Therefore, we warp the explosive bubbles in such a way that when they burst, they release a wave of psychic energy as well.

And I guess the ice is warped in a way that spoons are; like with how Alexis used a billion spoons in a circle to help her free us from Hypno's mind whammy.

There, POKESCIENCE.

It's not that Devon is at all ignorant of the effect that his implant has on his mind. Right now, there are two directions his character development can go in. No, we'll be following the god damn rules. No fights in the Dome, I'm pretty sure. If he wants to issue a formal challenge, we can do that I guess, but it won't change anything. Devon's older and more evolved then us, and even if we do beat him he'll just blame it on not being allowed to use fire.

It is, as an anon above said, a no win situation

Yeah, agreeing with this guy. You're really off the mark.
>>
You put on something clean and push out of your dorm, walking down the hall with a feeling of dread lingering in your heart. You're kind of scared that he'll say something bad, or be mean or.. or something.

Halfway down the hall you let out a deep sigh and stop walking, leaning back against the wall.
Boss would probably say the wall doesn't need any support. You droop down onto the floor, cradling yourself in your arms as he lean your head against your shoulder.

Boss thought you did well... But... It's your fault that Chuck died. Then it's your fault that Lilac's in trouble. You could've hurt Devon on the mission because you went too far alone.
You drive your palms into your face, you guns tightly closed, as you start crying again, hoping that no one can hear.

You shake your head. No. You can't let them... You can't let Devon see you like this. He'll make fun of you or call you a big fat crybaby. You can't deal with that right now. Oh Reverse, you can't do it.

You get up, dragging your claws against the wall to pull yourself up, running back to your room and slamming the door, catching your breath between sobs.

“Oh,” You hear from behind you, causing you to jump, your tail reflexively freezing over into icy spikes. Wait, that voice...
“My dear friend, what's wrong?” You know that voice, the air.. it smells like lavender.

You turn, into your room from facing the door, seeing a figure reclined upon you bed in traditional robes that you've only really seen worn at the spire. Her fingers trace over the definition of a scabbard, her yellow eyes glimmering in the dark as her pale purple hair catches in the moonlight.

She outstretches a hand to you,”Ceru, tell me what's wrong. We're friends right?” She brings the other hand out to welcome you into a hug.

THE DIVIDE

Honestly, I'll have to agree with the "Devon is human" side here. We're all still children and early in on developing our personalities. Devon may one day become a complete monster himself....or he may not. Right now is what's important. What happens in our formative years will develop his character.
>>
>>29841465
He has given no evidence of that. None whatsoever. Every conversation we've had with him has had him insult us and challenge us.
>>
With another sniffle, you pounce into the arms of your friend, burying your face in her fragrant bosom. “Lilac... Lilac.. I'm sorry...” You sob and cry freely as she pats the back of your head, leaning back just enough to avoid being caught by your horn.

You look up into the enchanting yellow eyes of your friend, the gentle flutter of her eyes traced by her dark eyelashes. You grip her a bit tightly to make sure that she's real once you've come out of your initial joy.
“L-lilac You're... You're really here.” You pull yourself away. Gripping at your shoulders with apprehension as your heart thumps away and your brain beginning to form its own ideas of what transpired.

Lilac's exceedingly calm, more-so than usual. Or rather, she's happy? “Yes, I'm really here...” She adjusts her grip upon her sword, pulling it close and against her breast like some kind of stuffed animal.
“I... Ran away.” She whispers with a smile, such a thing that might be considered a terrible secret, or an obvious truth.
No. Nono. That's not what you wanted to hear her say. You grip at yourself tighter, feeling your claws press sharply through your fur,”Lilac, you ran? How.. How could... why...”

Lilac's gentle expression seems to belie some kind of abandonment, a detachment from her situation as her fingers trace across the edge of the scabbard, her claw-like fingernails scraping the wood ever so gently. “I couldn't stay there any more... Agatha found out what I did. She said that I wouldn't be able to see you anymore. She was mad.” Upon her reflection she looks like a guilty child, knowing that she's done wrong yet still feels it's unfair.

“Lilac..” You start to shake your head. This is against the rules... If Agatha catches her...

“But,”Lilac smiles, that detached look returning,”I've got an idea. But... But you need to promise to keep it a secret Ceru, because you- you're my only living friend.” Her eyes plead you now.
Your gut twists with flutterbies flitting about. Something tells you that this is just going to be worse...

The alternative was being forbidden contact with us. And probably all people, in case we had any funny ideas of sending Bruise to act as an intermediary.

This is a reasonable response from a child who's been burdened with responsibilities and expectations all her life. Who's been kept in the Spire all her life.

Either we choose to abandon Lilac to her fate and close off that link to her, or we grab hold of it and try to find a solution.

The bottom two don't really hide anything
>>
You buckle under her gaze and shudder out a deep sigh, taking one of her hands into yours,”I'll keep it a secret Lilac... It's what friends are for, right?” She sets her sword down upon her lap, clasping her other hand over years. You feel the coolness of her wispy fingers against your own. She doesn't feel warm.
She nods slowly, that pleading look in her eyes remaining,”I want to leave the dome. If I can... If I can get to Johto, the leader there can train me, and I'll be free from Agatha... If.”

Your eyes go wide and you squeeze her hand within your own, pulling them to you,”You can't leave the dome alone. It's dangerous Lilac.”
At that, Lilac looks hurt, her smile quivering to stay as it is, her eyes wavering with their own water,”I can't stay here Ceru. I can't stay in that place.” She slowly shakes her head, her hands trembling within yours as a tear runs itself down her face, dropping onto the scabbard of her blade.
“I can fight. I don't care how far it is. I'd rather see the reverse than stay here.”

Lilac's posturing finally breaks as more tears run down her face, turning into long heaving sobs that pitter patter against the scabbard. The wrap around the blade slowly rises up, a sash of blue cloth wiping away at her face.
She touches it with her left hand, calming slightly, though her eyes are stained with the sadness of tears.”Thank you,” She whispers to the unseen entity.

Honestly, looking at our own attitude towards Giovanni, I can see why Kitten likes him so much. He's affable and he's powerful. He's like your rich dad who pays attention to you and knows when to indulge you and when to be stricter (for your own good).

Deeper into the cult we sink.
>>
>>29842920

>>
>>29842974
I bet he bakes a mean loaf of bread.
>>
>>29842974
Oh yeah, he's a total cult leader.

But as far as cults go, it's a good one. It provides structure for a Rocket's life, without structure most people would fall apart doing what Rockets have to do.

He is willing to sacrifice your life for a higher cause, but he honestly wants you to be the best you could possibly be, and actively fosters talent.
>>
Biting your lip, you consider what you could say to calm her trembling soul, and then you remember what boss had said. “Lilac, I told boss about you. He's well, he's interested in talking to Agatha about making you a ranger...”

Lilac stares at you as though you've got something on your face, yet it transforms entirely into a woeful smile,”Oh, so...” She seems a little conflicted now, unsure of what to say. She pets the sword, and your eyes follow her hand, releasing her other as it kind of goes limp.

“You took it from there, right?” You ask, and she nods silently.
“Is it a friend?” She nods again, her lips still kind of twitching, unsure of whether to laugh or cry.
“I asked him if he wanted to come along to Johto. He agreed. He's been feeling a bit blue lately, and was the only one interested in going against Agatha. He helped me escape. “ Her hand stops its gentle petting of the scabbard, content with resting upon it for now.

“Lilac, you can sleep here tonight, it's okay. We can figure out everything tomorrow.”

Lilac gives you a little “Okay.” and you change into some night-clothes. Airier than usual to give comfort to your unusual physiology.

Lilac begins to settle upon the floor, knees pressed against the carpet, sheathed sword resting upon her knees, and posture straight.

It takes some convincing for her to just get in bed with you, though she brings the sword along, unwilling to part from it. With the smallness of your bed, you cuddle against each other. Lilac buries herself in your soft fur and red hair, you bury yourself in her pale body and flowery incense. The fragrance of the tower is strange to smell in your bed, yet seeing your friend here, with you, at least, even for one night is all that you would’ve asked for to end this horrible day.

You pull some of your covers over her, giving her an extra bit of warmth against your naturally refrigerated body.

Wrapped up in each other's embrace, the two of you drift off into a tear-stained sleep, pushing back your fears of what tomorrow may hold.

======================================
Morning comes with the rush of light into your eye-lids. Lilac draped over you in her traditional kimono, steady breathing belying a steady amount of drool soaking into your fur and hair.

You shudder out of the sleeping teen's embrace, sliding yourself out to brush your hair, pull back everything but your bangs into a ponytail and smooth out your fur.
In the middle the process, you feel your forearm lock up a bit, feeling the internal chamber shift and groan painfully. You hiss out your breath as the pain persists for at least a minute before it finally comes to a halt.

You'll need to make an appointment with a professor soon.

Lilac's yet to rouse though...

Hopefully Lilac doesn't sneak off while we're away, but if so, it might be prudent to.....take a little sniff.

>There's a disguise package, as odd as it may seem among the boutique section... They come in handmade, Cheap, Decent, and Premium...

The handmade is pretty much a straw wig with a mustache made out of the same and a little cane... You can't think of anyone that would actually take such a disguise seriously.
The Cheap one is an ugly rubber mask and a half-decent wig. These aren't actual silph products though.

The Decent and Premium are where it's at. The key difference between the two is that the Decent disguise comes with a wig of real hair, a makeup kit, and some adequate clothing. The Premium comes with a breathable skin-mask, a wig, contacts, and a presentable black uniform.

You look over the Silph Catalog in your morning time, watching over Lilac as you try to figure something out.

Boss's said before that to an extent, the Rockets are above the law due to their privileges as special rangers... But sometimes.. that also means not getting caught when you do something bad.

You order the Master of Disguise kit, seeing your SC get reduced to 80,000 and the flash across the screen thanking you for loyal service to Silph, Kanto City, and humanity.

You close the page after double checking that you ordered even remotely the correct size.
Yeah, that should work.

You take a whiff of the air again, noticing just how pungent Lilac's Lavender smell is. It permeates her clothing like crazy. If anything you've learned from the investigation... Scents can make you craaaazy easy to track.

You stroll down the hall and rap your knuckles on Sanna's door. “Who'sit?!”
You share a kind of rough exchange with her, using a little subversion to get her to relinquish a bottle, stating that it's for a friend with a fishy job back in Cerulean Quarter, you procure something at least that should cover up the smell of lilacs. Blushing Orchid? Well, it smells nice as a perfume anyway.. in small doses.

Lilac gleefully puts on the substance and you await another hour or so before you check the drop-off box at the dorms, setting Lilac up in the Master of Disguise kit even as she clutches the sword through the changes.

The mask gives her a much darker complexion, the wig is blonde, the contacts blue(and the hardest part to get her to wear) and the dark clothes look a bit charming, giving her a whole new look.

Yeah, you'll be able to get away with this for a while at least. You hope...

We just haven't been in any situations where the knowledge would have been useful. Devon, for example, stole a spear in the village. If we had gotten one, we'd have been able to use it better.
>>
>>29844374
>Nigger, I don't care what you say, I don't want to follow her on a suicide run to Johto
>>29844355
>I don't think that Lilac would bluff about this.

Imagine.. Imagine that she leaves and you get a letter after you come back from expedition.
Imagine her prosoloing through mount shiver.

No one is going to guess it. But there was an easter egg here. Aside from the straw kit.
Gonn'shit brix when you see it.
>>
>>29844408
Basically this.

I can't think of a single encounter beyond the Farfetch'D mission where we were actually PREPARED for shit.

It's a little ridiculous
>>
>>29844429
Damnit, Prof. We're sinking fast and you drop this on us. At least give us a clue on where to find it.
>>
>>29844335
keep it
>>
>>29844429

Lilac's Dialogue
>>
>>29844429
>Lilac actually makes it.

Well, unless she can phase through all the monsters outside, I don't see it happening.

Then again, your dice seem to love you Professor, so who knows?
>>
>>29844429
I noticed two; Master of Disguise that was the best fucking movie and the Shorts section of the Silph Catalog.

Any others?
>>
>>29844429
>Gonn'shit brix when you see it.
>that line in the clothing

hahahaha

hint: ratatta
>>
>>29844429
On the whole polearm issue, maybe you should wait before deciding on removing it.

Really, the one time we were fully equipped for a mission was when we ventured into the Viridian Wood. See how the expedition mission turns out first before deciding whether or not the polearm training is worth keeping or scrapping.
>>
>>29844466
>>29844465
Aw shit, I forgot all about the ratatta thing.
But yeah.
Check Lilac's dialogue for the kicker.
>>
>>29844474
Remember what happened our first encounter in that forest?
Immediately dropped our weapon.

I predict that's gonna be a running gag.
"Do you really know how to use that thing Ceru?"
"Huh? Yeah, of course I do!"
"Then why do you never do it?"
"Well, I just...keep...losing it."
"Uhuh. Where is it now?"
"That big dinosaur ate it!"
>>
>>29844493
Lancer E rank Luck.
>>
>>29844493
I am fine with this being a running gag.
>>
>>29844488
Does it have to do with her sword?
>>
>>29844498
So, Prof. Can we freeze our water to make disposable lances? Because I was thinking, if we could get hydro pump, we could freeze the water to create lances.

Would thrown weapons training and polearm training stack when it comes to throwing lances anyway?
>>
>>29844524
Would count as thrown.
Wouldn't require hydro pump to make. You could just about do it now.

>>29844514
What are you thinking?
>>
>>29844524
We might have to expend quite a bit of stamina to keep the lance from melting, unless we were in freezing environment in the first place.
>>
>>29844543
Oh, that's nice to know.

>>29844545
It's not about stamina. If my memory serves me right, the coolness and firmness of our ice shards is dependent upon its level.
>>
really, we've not had any giant monster live takedowns yet.

Which is the purpose of the bident.
>>
>>29844488
The only things I can see is that she didn't capitalize "reverse", said we were her only -living- friend, and that her Honedge was feeling blue and volunteered to go against Agatha.

>>

You've narrowed it down friend. I leave it up to you.
Reverse should've been capitalized .
>>
>>29844635
Did Bruise count as her friend?

>>29844581
Speaking of takedowns, OP, can we get a nice incentive to capturing live monsters? Maybe a cash bonus, or collectable points that we can use to purchase special items? Or maybe pats from Boss?
>>
>>29844635
Casper the friendly ghost
>>
>>29844615
The name of Jin's weapon means "snow woman".

ICE CAR!!!!
>>
>>29844615
We can also do combos.
>>
>>29844635
Well Honedge is blue, but I don't think that's it.

Speaking of Honedge, will her sword evolve into multiple swords?
>>
>>29844650
>>29844635
yes, we need incentive for live monster capture.
Bonus points!

>mfw Ceru becomes an Ice typed Hone Edge when she dies
>mfw she is a poke weapon of legend
>>
>>29844635
She doesn't consider Bruise her friend, which is fair, but she DOES see that Honedge as her friend, which is understandable.

Is it that ghosts can be depressed? Or that Agatha's ability to command them is not absolute and they're pretty much sticking around the Spire purely because they want to?
>>
>>29844684
Really, there are a lot of people I can call a "friend", but only a few that I really do consider to be my friend.

I think she likes Bruise well enough, but it's Ceru's relationship with her that means more.
>>
>>29844696
>>29844670
Not necessarily. Though she may be able to create a ghostly version of it to act as a second. sword.

>>29844684
>She doesn't consider Bruise her friend
Bruise didn't visit her like Ceru did.

>>29844684
Those are other things, but not exactly an easter egg.
>>
>>29844673
I don't even know what kind of deaths make honedges.
>>
>>29844740
Yeah I got nothing.
>>
>>29844759
Version.
>>
>>29844758
Swordsmen. A Samurais blade IS his soul.
>>
>>29844758
I figured that most ghosts were never "alive" in the first place, Yamask and Phantump being the exceptions.
>>
>>29844740
Thoughts on giving us incentives to capture monsters in general? Besides giving us the option to turn them into delicious implants, of course.
>>
>>29844769
The Honedge was once Blue Oak when he was alive?
>>
>>29844780
Money sounds great. Recognition is a given if you get a rare one.
>>
>>29844796
We're only catching shit when a mission is going well.
Believe me, I wanted to take that baby Heracross.
I love Heracross.
But just. No not after that mission
>>
So guys. Who's ready to come up with more unique combination moves we can do?
>>
>>29844777
Also maybe Pumpkaboo, though they might burn souls for fuel like the Litwick family.
>>
>>29844796
>>29844812
Oh hey, Prof. Will we ever see the other characters perform custom moves?
>>
>>29844814
Wait never mind, Honedges WERE people once. Apparently.

>Apparently this Pokémon is born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. It attaches itself to people and drinks their life force.
>>
>>29844796
Excellent.

Can't wait to see where the expedition takes us.

I kind of want to go to the Seafoam Islands, but I suspect that place will be a high-level hell.

>>29844829
Devon knows that his smog is explosive and Sanna's vines apply Sleep Powder/Stun Spore.
>>
>>29844849
>>29844796
Speaking of explosive gas, any chance we'll see any of the other Rocket Team members we met at dinner on the expedition?
>>
>>29844260
>Ceru didn't have the lady-balls to visit devon right now.
Which is for the best, really, since I think we should talk to Sanna about Devon's past before we go approaching him.
>>
>>29844876
I'm actually kinda glad that no matter what retarded decisions we make, Ceru has her own personality to apply to them all
>>
>>29844857
Very likely.
>>
>>29844887
that's how these things usually work. Most likely.
>>
>>29844887
I do my best to give her some personality.
>>
>>29844901
Fun. Maybe we'll get to hear some old stories about SURGE from Nicolai.

Not that you need to now, but you may want to update the character pastebin when you reintroduce them.
>>
>>29844909
Please, feel free to use the common sense card, or "I'm 12 and that's scary" Card.

It's easy to forget we're 12. Like, really easy, with how much power we weild
We anons have trouble comprehending simple things, the gelatinous mass we are.
>>
>>29844920
I'm just looking forward to adult troopers being all like
"What is a 12 year old doing here?"
>>
>>29844950
Then we'll just have to show them how damn ELITE a 12 year old we are. And then look adorable as we get praise.

If all goes vaguely well we'll end up as the expedition mascot.
>>
>>29844950
I don't want to go on the expedition, personally.
I mean, if adult rangers are going on it we REALLY shouldn't be there. It has to be important. And dangerous.
>>
>>29844927
>"I'm 12 and that's scary" Card.
That's part of why she succumbed to freaking out about dead bodies and devon maiming a kid once the mission was over and everything could actually sink in.

>>29844950
Par for the course.
>>
>>29844950
>"They're Rockets."
>"Oooooh."
Although it may not be that uncommon for young kids to join in on expeditions. Rockets get to go on them a year or two earlier, after all. I assume that 14 year old cadets are already sent out on missions (Bruise being a late bloomer).
>>
>>29844964
All the tears.
So many tears.

you should've named this thread "Downpour" because damn, she's having a tiny mental breakdown over all this mess.
>>
>>29844964
Ceru handled interacting with a dead body well enough, though. Will we see that experience color her future reactions to human corpses?
>>
>>29844983
>Handled the body well
More like bottled it up until the mission was over.

I feel bad. We won't get to see Chuck and apologize. Again.
>>
>>29845006
Yeah I wish we did get a chance to do that, but now I'm pretty sure we can't even go back to the Spire.

...Maybe his wife got to see him at least?
>>
>>29845031
...fuck.
He had a family, didn't he?

...Fuck.
>>
>>29845042
>>29845031
Yeah, I'm going to bring that up as well.
>>
>>29845045
You suck.
I hate you man.
I hate you.
;~;
>>
You know, it's interesting to see what Lilac is like. When it comes to medium-stuff, she seemed very adult-like. Reliable and strong. Now, though, she's so much like another kid. She's older than Ceru, yes, but she's pretty childish. Especially with that plan to travel across regions all by herself.

>>29845045
Damn Eevees, am I right? Arceus damned Eevees.
>>
>>29845045
Wait, I have the perfect plan.

We ask either Alexis or Goldenrod to make us temporarily forget that Lilac visited last night, and then we go to the Spire to see Chuck and at the same time solidify our alibi.
>>
>>29845059
I think that's what drew us to her in the first place, like at first we were creeped out by her enthusiasm, but then we saw her pouting and we saw she was a person.
>>
>>29845070
We should probably think of some sort of alibi. I mean, Lilac's smell is COVERING our room.

I can already see Professor wringing his fists and saying "Yes, and next they call Devon to track Lilac, and he realizes Ceru fucked up AGAIN and gets even ANGRIER"...
>>
>>29845070
I don't think mediums can read our minds. They can read ghosts' minds, though, by channeling them.
>>
>>29845093
There's some perfume left right?

Just leave it open.
>>
>>29845095
Yeah I know.

I'm just saying that I don't have much faith in our deceptive ability.
>>
>>29845104
It still leads up to our room.
>>
>>29845070
Man, I still want to see some Goldenrod feeling awkward-to-guilty about Ceru getting mindwiped after coming to look for him. Now enough time has passed that I can't really expect it to come up though.
>>
>>29845134
Yeah it's been like a year hasn't it?
