You are Reinhold, master swordsman and victor of the Royal Swordsmanship Tournament. The King was so impressed with your skill, he personally requested that you be transferred out of the army and into the Royal Guard! Not bad for an orphan who was raised in a brothel in a poor fishing village. The only issue at this point is your assignment... you've been charged to be the personal guard of the King's only daughter Marianne. While she is the vision of loveliness that you'd expect from a Princess, her personality is... well... she seems to have some issues.God damn it, how are you going to handle this...>Sorry, but you've been stripped down to the rank of DOG!>Though dogs are loyal, they're not all that smart...>Though she still considers you her friend, she thinks a little less of you... and also herself.>And while dogs are man's best friend, they still don't count as people.Thread archive:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Princess+Guard+QuestCharacter list + descriptions (in progress):http://pastebin.com/1Vhj4DJvList and descriptions of the spells shown thus far:http://pastebin.com/2c9y2sDMTwitter:https://twitter.com/QM_ArchelonQuest compilation that's kindly maintained by a person who isn't me:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/n4nhs9gd0kmnnni/04tpEy5_pe>>>>>>>>

>>29821796>tl;dr>Go to Monique>Go to Thierri>Run away>Go to Celestino>Gregory too, I guessWe have several options to deal with this.We can go to Monique and attempt to get him to turn down the offer. While Monique is a social-climbing bag of dicks and may well accept just to spite us, he's also a self-espoused "gentleman" and may not want to force Lucianna into marriage against her will. If he's unaware that she's unwilling when Celestino springs it on him, he'll accept without a second thought and it will be too late to back out when he realizes. We can go to King Thierri. Near the beginning of the quest, Celestino sent Lucianna to Granache to propose to Thierri. It was for similar reasons to the Monique proposal - political backing. Monique provides a Sealed King, Thierri provides a country. In addition, Thierri is Celestino's best friend. I doubt Celestino could or would turn him down.Lucianna would, I believe, consider this a preferrable option.We/Lucianna could leave, as Takamaru suggested. I doubt the narrative will let us go with her, though. So if you're hoping for adventure, I think you'll be disappointed. We can go straight to Celestino and attempt to change his mind. I don't think we'll be successful, but you can try. Also, apparently Gregory is an option.

>>29822290Well, conventional weapons get their shit slapped by magic in every area until firearms get invented and even then that only levels the playing field. Reinhold isn't a mage and doesn't have any way to counter magic, so he is horribly obsolete.
>>29822290I'm not sure people are going to get it unless arch sends Reinhold to Not-Japan and has him meet some guy named "Archie Long" who engages our protagonist in a discussion over these strange "shounen manga"."They're nice entertainment, but the main characters are too often naive and overly idealistic. They keep getting into fights like they've never heard of the saying 'pick your battles' and they seem to all think that they can win all of these fights through force of will alone. Look. Look how dumb it is. You'd definitely get yourself in trouble if you modeled yourself after somebody like that."
>>29822280>>29822336Actually, this brings up an interesting point. As much as this is about trying to save Luciana from her own misery, this is almost just as much about trying to keep Gregory from self-destructing just to take revenge. This is just us punching Monique in the face so Nicolette doesn't have to all over again, but on a far larger scale.
>>29822277Arch has already admitted that this is a sidestory to the main plotline of his setting. The main plotline is about the hero-king Monique, fucking his hot wife and wielding his Sealed King.Every year the country has a play depicting his humble origins as he is dogged by the bumbling baffoon Reinhold.

"So how exactly are we going to do this? Spit up, or go to one and then the other?""I suppose splitting up would be best," Marianne says. "It's less time wasted, and we'll also have more time to figure out something else if his idea doesn't work out.""Sounds good," Rana nods. So how are we gonna do this? I'll watch the Princess here if you decide to go and talk to Nico's old man, so you don't have to worry about that.""The Princess and I will stay in here," Takamaru says. Melanie says. "I take it that you and Miss Nicolette will be seeking out your own fathers, right?" she turns to Marianne."That would make sense, yes," Marianne replies."I'll go with Marianne," Sylvie says."In that case, I will go with Miss Nicolette.""Guess that leaves the two of us," Rana says, grinning at you. Keep in mind that the optimal goal here is to make Celestino do a complete turnaround in his "kids are just tools to be used" policy, which will be difficult, if at all possible.Even getting him to not marry Luciana to Monique, perhaps in return for a favorable agreement/good relations with Granache or word of King that he'll keep Monique not a threat, that will only make Luciana open to arranged marriage with someone even worse, and might consign Elena to her fate as well. hello.
>>29823250Shit. I'm off to commit honorable sudoku in shame.
Perhaps a bit late, but a problem with this quest is the in-universe consistency. Monique gaining a Sealed King is not in line with what worldbuilding posits. Volker's lifework involved gaining a Sealed King, this means he used years of time, vast resources and connections in order to gain a clue where one is. Once gaining this clue he is beset by competitors in the form of dragons and killed before getting a hold of one. This not only shows the difficulty of finding one, but also shows there is an active competition which further exuberates the problem of gaining one.Thierre went on numerous adventures, however even his vast amount of resources, experiences and such, didn't gain him a look at a free Sealed King.Arnaud also dreamed of gaining one and likely in his life attempted to get one. Also in vain. Gregory's wife a professional adventuress, whose job it was to gain items of value didn't gain one. The power of a sealed king is of such import that King Celestino is willing to marry of his daughter in order to increase the military strength of his country. This means that countries are looking for Sealed Kings. However again to no avail. All this shows that Sealed Kings are rare, not only this but the QM stated that Reinhold wouldn't get a Sealed King due to it. However Monique in a month long training trip for personal strength just found one lying on the side of the road. Not only this but it happens to be exactly the type of Sealed King which suites him the best. This shows a discrepency in consistency in worldbuilding and writing. This gets exuberated when it shows that Monique suffers no drawbacks from gaining and having one. Instead of this one of the player's potential love interests is married of to him because of him having one. This leads form a discrepency in consistency to a railroading situation in which drama is created for drama's sake. tl;dr inconsistency in worldbuilding leading to a drama for drama's sake situation.
>mfw this is the first time Aquaman is actually usefulnever have so many needed Aquaman's aid
>>29823278As somebody posited earlier, it's more than likely Monique approached a current wielder of a sealed king for training. When that man died, he inherited the blade.

So, what's your dream PGQ interlude? Here's mine:Monique gets a booty letter from Luciana to meet him at the Arena. He gets there, turns out it was sent by Gregory and Thierri. All of the support cast is there too. They've stolen all of his swords and they tell him he has to follow all of their instructions and whatever happens to him he has to act like he enjoys it. If he doesn't, they will break all of his swords and then kill him.So the next day, Monique walks into a room wearing diapers and a pacifier, acting like a retarded baby. All of the cast is there and they give him the hardest, most brutal gangrape in history. As instructed, Monique acts like he completely enjoys it and asks for more. Then in walks that Karel. Turns out he decided to join in for revenge. He's been eating a special protein-only diet for weeks just for this. He pulls down his pants and partially defecates the longest, thickest, hardest log ever, and proceeds to use it to give Monique the most furious ass-to-ass action ever recorded. Monique can't hold his tears anymore, but pretends they're from pleasure. It's finally over. Then the King reveals the room they're in is actually see through from the outside, and they're in the tournament arena. All of the audience has been watching Monique get gangbanged and enjoy it. They finally kick him out of the premises, and break all of his swords anyway.Later, Monique runs into Luciana, who tells him she didn't know he was such fag. Reinhold walks in and proceeds to have passionate sex with her in front of Monique, and after he finishes, pees all over him, much to her delight
>>29824032But Monique IS a bad person.

>>29824252He'd have ran off to go and kill Monique, the same as before... only with it being your responsibility to stop him instead of Rana's.He wouldn't beat you up since he actually likes you, but you'd have to either convince him of another way BESIDES murder to rectify this situation or stall long enough for Thierri to show up.And if you said "haha let him die" then you'd have gotten a Bad End since the blame would fall on you for telling him about the engagement plans in the first place. You guys played it Super Smart, good job!
>>29824229>walk her back to her room, she's still feeling kind of badI'm Lucifag after all~
>>29824333That means staying in this shithole of a country.
>>29824332My proxies are ready.
>>29824344We could just move back to Granache, it's not like Luciana is going to inherit the throne or anything.
>>29824341... We just stuck with Marianne. And I don't know what we could have done to convince the Red Haze.
>>29824341invoke emergency voting arc. please.
>>29824229>walk her back to her room, she's still feeling kind of badHahaha, time for Luci route!
>>29824344Not if we defect
>>29824341>Bad end for telling Greg about the engagementFuck Celestino, and the rest of this godforsaken country, I won't even mind if the slavery country kicks their asses
>>29824355Thats how they were trying to poach monique. And Marie said she'd lose her guard. We won't be moving back to garanche.
>>29824360kiss him obviouslyThey never expect it
That's it for the night, guys.I was expecting Horrible Things, but you seriously surprised me by how well you took that entire situation. Seriously, thanks for that. But now I must sleep, so it is goodbye for now. The next thread will be Monday night. Thanks for playing!
>>29824344[citation needed]
>>29824378Thanks for running.
>>29824344Not necessarily. She could just as easily move to Granache if it did end up happening. She's a long way off from the throne so it's not like Celestino has a particular interest in keeping her at home as opposed to in the country next door which happens to be his closest ally.
>>29824378night archsleep tight
>>29824378I'm surprised that you thought we took this well.
>>29824378Thanks for running Archelon, rest well!
>>29824378Good night man, seriously, i applaud you for you enduring most the the trolls from starting the quest.
>>29824378Sleep well Arch. Your deserve a good rest
We should walk Luciana back and tell her about Spinelle. It's time.
>>29824378Thanks for running
>>29824406whatever the fuck for
>>29824406yeah, this is a perfect opportunity to tell her about our hang-ups.
>>29824378thanks for running arch, the hype, epicness and happening went off the chart tonight
GUYS how about on the day of the waifu vote we should all be on live cam?
>>29824431That sounds like it would be an incredibly embarrassing experience for everyone involved.
>>29824406>>29824412>>29824419>"Do you know how I got those intimacy hungups?">"Well, you see, she did *this*..."
>>29824431that would actually be good, judging that it won't be for some months, it's actually nice to have a reason too loose some weight.
>>29824378Sleep tight.
>>29824378Good run as always Arch.>>29824374I don't see the problem if we do go Luci route and moving to Granache and keep on bodyguarding, I mean sure we'll likely have to stay in Marconetti for a bit but Gregory can cover for a bit. If Luciana route = Staying in Marconetti, it's the bad end. >>29824431You relize how many of us there is, right? And what he >>29824444 said.

>>2982447231:19 for escorting Luci.Justice prevails.
>>29824490>implying this is the definitive voteThough it'd be a pretty great ruse.
>walk her backNote for thoughtBeyond just being angry because it is fucking Monique, Reinhold would probably NEVER want to see one of his friends forced to be with someone that hate, so terrified or sad at the prospect to cry. It's not a muh trauma trigger, it's a sharpening of he mind hot rage trigger. He probably doesn't see the situation based on the perpetrator's intent (Celestino) he sees it from the potential victims pain in which he sees himself, especially in her belief of helplessness and hopelessness.
>>29824530>he sees it from the potential victims pain in which he sees himself, especially in her belief of helplessness and hopelessness. it's probably more about citrine's pain than his...
>>29824530I'm curious how far he'd be willing to go out of loyalty for his friend at this point.Though that's for /tg/ to decide.
The players being idiots I accept as part of life but what the fuck is with the archivers lately...
>>29824341>And if you said "haha let him die" then you'd have gotten a Bad End since the blame would fall on you for telling him about the engagement plans in the first place.>if you would have impacted the story/world in any significant way, I would've just Bad Ended you and reset everythingWell fuck you too.
I wonder if there will be another encounter with ninjas on this night.>>29824566I think we'd be all good for running away with Luciana, but she herself made it clear she would just accept her fate rather than thwart her father.>>29824785Trolls have been with this quest for quite some time, just check /qtg/.>>29824786You know, if you kill yourself or someone else, it will be stupid, but there will be no luxury of reverting to savepoint. And this was never a sandbox campaign.
Seriously where is 118 three misarchived out of four in two days...
>>29824859>You know, if you kill yourself or someone else, it will be stupid, but there will be no luxury of reverting to savepoint. No shit it would be stupid, but the resulting political shitstorm would be interesting. Its probably the closest Reinhold will ever have of impacting the story in any meaningful way.I also don't see what comparing IRL to a fucking quest is supposed to accomplish, save make you look retarded. Which if that was your goal, then mission fucking accomplished.
Rolled 8>>29824859Archelon said before there is resets if we fuck up, where explains our mistakes and what we could've done better.Like the dojo from Fate/SN
>>29825010I'm not the one who's deliberately trying to push retarded decision just for sake of being lol so random and leaving a crater.
>>29825124I'm not even pushing for it, jackass, I just think its dumb how Arch outright admits that he will retcon any meaningful impact Reinhold might have on the story, good or bad.
>>29825199There is a distinct difference between making an impact and getting ourself killed.
>>29825250The punishment for going of the rails shouldn't be death every single time.
>>29825278Here's what would happen if we let Greg kill Monique.>Monique Dies>Theirri asks what the hell>Greg says that we told him about the marriage>we get fired and most likely get sent to the dungeon/exiled/executed on the spot.
>>29825532Woulda been more interesting if it lead to Greg getting hung, Luci hating you, and a falling out between the two kings. But once again, that would require arch to let us off the VN train.
>>29825567Ariane would probably say Gregory's already hung pretty well.
>>29825532more likely celestino would reach conclusion that we were getting back at Monique and maybe even trying to get around the sealed king restriction and have us executed.
>>29825567> Luci hating youAnd Nico, and Marianne, and Sylvie, and Melon, and Gregory's Family, and Celestino, and Elena, and Agnes, and Citrine, and Marius, and Matthias, and on and on and on.I'm just saying, if Reinhold had let Gregory kill Monique, than Reinhold is fucked
>>29825701>if Reinhold had let Gregory kill Monique, than Reinhold is fuckedIf we tried to stop him and failed, they couldn't hate him TOO much. Though I must say, I don't really get why Reinhold would be held so closely responsible for a grown fucking man throwing a tantrum and abusing his demigodlike power. This just goes to show that wizards are fucking cunts and should be lined up and slaughtered by the score.
>>29825785Wizards , no sense of right or wrong
>>29825823I really dont fucking get it. How the fuck is Reinhold responsible if a man who can level fucking towns if he wants to decides to kill a guy? Sure, he was the one who told Greg, but if someone with that much power is that fucking volatile, you would think the kingdom would have fucking done something about him before he goes all Falling Down on everyone. In a world where wizards are getting their balls fondled by the author himself, what the fuck is a swordsman even supposed to do?
>>29825785>butthurt warrior detected
>>29825885...I was just making a joke related to a reaction image I cannot find.
>>29825885Your first point is a valid one, as in how does Gregory manage to go through a day without causing an incident. I'd like to hear what OP has to say about that.Your other point has grown stale and is invalid anyway, considering how the king himself admitted to only know a single spell.
>>29826041Greg Quest: roll not to murder the ever living fuck of everything that does piss you off.
>>29826031No, I know. But its still worth pointing out.>>29826041>Your other point has grown stale and is invalidIts still pretty relevant if it almost just Bad Ended us.
>>29826068What almost bad ended us is our character level, not the class he's levelling. If we were playing Reya or a male equivalent of Sylvie, we would have been equally screwed. That, and nature of quest which is railroady from get go.
>>29826106of *THIS quest. It's just not a sandbox one.
>>29826106>What almost bad ended us is our character level, not the class he's levelling. You forget that the whole reason Volkar died is because he didn't wait for the wizard to show uo and fix everything>If we were playing Reya or a male equivalent of SylvieSure, but I doubt Rana would be held responsible for Gregory going on a rampage. Somehow thats our fault and our fault alone.
>>29826106no one would be bitch if we were playing Monique from the start
>>29826236Oh lol. Then they would be bitching about getting a macguffin and being a mary sue. Or we would not get the macguffin and end up exactly as we were, underpowered mid-level in land populated by epic-levels and commoners. The truth of the matter is that it's impossible to appease everyone.>>29826147Yeah, wizards, too bad they are not quite so commonplace in this setting to have one on hand at all times, eh? Also I'm pretty sure Rana would get shit as well, but she was not under suspicion of being a spy like Reinhold was.
>>29826322 bitching about getting a macguffin and being a mary sue.but that's all what every player wants
You guys are too damned desperate to keep the status quo.
>>29826357...I want a horse.
>>29826438Fuck horses, I want a gryphon.Besides there are no horses in this setting.
Honestly the only major issue I have with this quest are the players. Baking a fucking cake, leaving Luciana to cry herself to sleep, damn near killing Reinhold in a duel...
>>29826461but we have a perfectly good dragon and she wants us to ride her
