Previously:
Asher examined a strange spoil from his last battle, a tear that he found would freeze any ambient water it touched whilst itself appearing frozen, yet remaining at room temperature. This respite among the followers allowed his comrade, Emilia, to receive the necessary aid to ensure her survival against a most fatal wound that she had barely survived.
Asher showed the tear to Friend, the presumed leader, or at least speaker for this group of The Followers. While Friend had inclined to let Hunter absorb its power, Asher instead took it for himself to call upon his first summon, the shade of the woman that had created the banshee.

While she had been distressed from her death, and unaware of even her name, Asher formed a bare minimum contract with her, convincing her to help him as she had nothing else.

Resting until the evening, Asher awakens in time for another little "assembly" held by The Followers. He sees some old faces, some of which belong to the group he'd left behind, and others still new as he observes from the stage.
He can only guess at what will take place tonight...

Asher's Sheet

>Voting rules: First to three will be passed. If three votes are not taken within ten minutes, I'll start writing the next part based on whatever I can garner from consensus. This is subject to change as the Quest picks up.

Excellent, you're back.

A question about the tear, do we still need it to summon Fara? Or is it no longer needed?

Also, we might want to make a necklace out of it if it's big enough.
>>
>>29814870
You don't need it to summon her, though it eases the process in using it as a medium.

Asher still feels her presence lingering around him. She's here, but not in "this" world, from what he feels.
>>
>>29814946
Okay, let's keep it then. Make jewelry out of it.

Having Fara available to summon like that ought to make our lives a lot easier.

Do we see the Amazon in the crowd?
>>
You stand next to the stage along with Emilia and Hunter, the curtains yet to part as everyone in the gallery wait, fidgeting, bemoaning, glancing about nervously. The crowd, like before just moments away from snapping from the pressure.
You've since relaxed from this whole situation, at least, since your own experience of this assembly.

It's odd, extremely odd to be looking at this procession from the outside in.
Emilia leans against the wall, her breathing smooth, and the veins of her abdomen gleaming now and again through her faded blouse.
"Hey," She says to no one in particular, her eyes scanning forward at all the faces among the crowd,"If you knew what was going to happen last night, would you have still come here?"

She doesn't seem all that interested in a direct response, you mull it over in your head for a while. If you hadn't come here, you wouldn't understand why this is happening. You wouldn't be working with a bunch of zealous, magical terrorists, you wouldn't have learned that there's so much more you can do that control water.
You'd have still been ignorant and wandering out in this wet graveyard of a city.

Was it worth it?

>>
>>29815031
Yeah, you glimpsed the amazon on the way in, don't know where she's sitting though.
>>
>>29815316
"Yes, yes I would've. Knowledge, despite the pain it took to acquire it, is far better than ignorance. And I have learned a lot."

>[X] Survey the crowd...
>>[X] Back Row. People with a taste for discretion, they don't know that they stand out the most.

The people trying to hide away are likely the ones who's actions will catalyze the ensuing riot, they're the ones who are trying to watch and not be watched.
>>
>>29815316
>>[] "Hell yes."
>[] Play with the water in your water-bottle. Might as well practice some shapes and heating/cooling.
>>
Resolved, you nod slowly to yourself,"Yes." You speak aloud, though its no louder than a whisper lest the people nearest to you in the gallery hear.
You touch your missing eye in contemplation as the words form in your mind," Yes, I would've. Knowledge, despite the pain it took to acquire it, is far better than ignorance. And I have learned a lot."
Slowly you suck in air, reflecting on the things that Friend would talk about tonight, if it's to be a repeat of the prior day.
America is no longer the top dog, They are Winnng, Magic is real, and the government is shipping of civilian mages to god knows where.
World Events spark notes for dummies, written by Asher Smith, one pissed off author.
You smirk to yourself.

Hunter seems a bit disrupted by your words, though he seems a bit different since you parted ways with him to be trained in summoning. Does he look... stronger- or something? His face may say he's gotten a bolder pair at least.
"Man, why you gotta say stuff like that?" He seems unsure of himself for a moment,"This is all cool I guess. Really cool, actually." He laughs dryly, cutting short prematurely with kind of an embarrassed look. "Sorry."
"It's alright Hunter." Emilia kind of smiles at the kid, though it's pretty sad.
You look out to the crowd as you alternate the temperatures in your quarter-empty water bottle, hot and cold. You quickly realize that you should hold the thing away while you do that. Steam's pretty hot to hold.

Your eyes are drawn to the people in the back row. Those that are trying to get a look at the show without being watched. Funny thing, about that- they stand out the most.
>>
You see quite a few haggard people all doing what they can to hide their own little injuries and scars.
Though, there's a group of three among the back that stand out more than they think they do.
Left to right, there's a thing wrapped up like a mummy, covered so much that you can't really discern a gender.
A man with glasses suspiciously unbent or broken. Hair cut short.
Then finally, a man with what you can tell are rather high cheekbones, even at a distance. He sits with an unusually rigid posture from everyone else that seems content with slouching in their misery.

Something stands out about these three more than anything though- They're dry.

The curtains should be opening soon as the tide of people slows. The recently fixed room will likely be facing another sudden riot at the near-end.
Anything you'd like to do?

>[] Change position to watch the three in the back more closely.
>[] Look for the Amazon, and the others from your group. Make eye contact, and wave.
>[] Collect water, discreetly.
>[] (Other)
>>
>>29816236
>>[] Collect water, discreetly.
Let's dump water on the whole audience. For fun.
>>
>>29816272
Water would mostly be from what they've tracked in. You already feel it's not quite as much as it was since the wave's pulled out, leaving them to dry a bit more.
>>
>>29816236
>[] Collect water, discreetly.

Discretely collect it, once we have it nearby we can let go of it and it'll be easy to access later. Don't dump it on people, but be ready to use it to defend ourself and summon Fara.

The group of three shouldn't move much while things are still getting explained, it shouldn't take much effort to occasionally glance over at them and make sure things are still copacetic.

Try to look for the Amazon, if we see her try to make eye contact and smile, don't wave, it'll bring extra attention to us and her, but smile.
>>

I looked these up because I'm kind of paranoid of whether I'm spelling correctly something or not and learned something new and weird.

dis·crete (dĭ-skrēt′)
adj.
1. Constituting a separate thing. See Synonyms at distinct.
2. Consisting of unconnected distinct parts.
3. Mathematics Defined for a finite or countable set of values; not continuous.

dis·creet (dĭ-skrēt′)
adj.
1. Marked by, exercising, or showing prudence and wise self-restraint in speech and behavior; circumspect.
2. Free from ostentation or pretension; modest.

Had no fucking clue that the former was completely unrelated to the latter. Holy shit I hate english as a native english speaker. What is this kind of shit?

They actually come from the exact same latin route, discretus which originally meant "separted, distinct", but came to mean "discerning, careful" around the Middle Ages. Around 1600 or so they split off, with discreet being careful and discrete being separate and used in scientific disciplines mainly who still obey the Latin root.

Eytomology is cool.

Still makes me see why english fucks people up. Lotta same-sounding words, slang, inconsistent pronunciations.
I before E except after C is bullshit disproven by at least a handful of words.

You avert your eyes from the group as one notices you staring, the one covered in wraps shifts and leers at you with an incandescent light.
A nerve? No, it's. You can't tell from here. Yet the look from the figure sends chills down your spine. They're going to be trouble, you can tell.

Closing your eyes, you get a feel for the presence of moisture in the room, upon the people, soaking into the seats. You slowly draw it down ltting the slow pull of gravity do some work for you. You maintain a focus on using as little thought as possible as you turn the carpet into one large sodden mess.
The burn starts to get to you, though it's just a little. Not wanting to draw any more attention to yourself with your glow, you leave it at that, at the ready to draw up or burst into steam.

You scan the room again, looking for the face of the Amazon among the many. You finally find her next to Kierra, Jade, and Reina. She doesn't see you, but you kind of smile.
Maybe she's already acknowledged where you stand.
Maybe she already hates you like the others?
Bah, it'd be nice to have her on your side at least.
She'd be wasted on the path of blood. Like to die while achieving nothing.

The other Followers shift, standing in front of the exits, blocking doors, and looking on in, scanning on their own for the possible ones that would draw up trouble far too early.
Just like before, the curtains open and the lights dim with the limelight centered upon the stage.
>>
>>29816882
yeah, more exceptions to the\at rule than words that follow it

There stands Friend, grinning with his teeth as everwhite as usual, peeking through his lips, his casual posture friendly and disarming, putting some ease into you as you visibly relax along with Emilia and Hunter.
At his side are two other Followers. Faraji, and another man this time. It seems that they switch off between the Bones and Nerves that stand with him on the stage.

"Welcome here." A great smile as he opens up his arms as if to invite the entire crowd.
"Welcome to you, and you..." He points out members of the audience, to give them personal attention, you can see their eyes brightening up at being noticed by him, he hadn't pointed at you.
"And..." He pauses, and glances over the back-row, he almost laughs, with the grin of a parent that caught their toddler with their hand in a cookie jar.
You notice that one of the three shift, yet the others appear quite relaxed.

Not breaking his stride however, he opens up his arms again,"and to.. Well, all of you!"
You clasps his hands together, shaking them as if he were a beggar thanking a kind stranger," I am pleased to see you here, he walks about the stage, carrying on with his speech, doing the exact same thing like you'd expect of a rehearsed public speaker, his voice amplified by the subtle sapphire glow within his throat.

It's kind of surreal seeing the altering expressions as he goes through the entire thing. You list off your "World events guide for dummies" as he goes over your major fact points.
The reaction to magic leaves many of the people with a mix of awe and disgust, that only intensifies into bewilderment, worry, and anger when he comes to the why.

You'll need to include that in your book. The suffering, teaching the suffering. Yeah, that's what The Followers are about. Teaching suffering. You're kind of skeptical about whether you can get behind that.

Then finally, it comes right down to the choices.
Peace, Blood, Enlightenment.

That's when the three in the back finally stand.
>>
Before Friend asks the people to raise the hand, after he tells them that he'll teach magic to all that at least stay... Those three stand, drawing attention of The Followers at the exits, and the ones upon the stage.

You stare your own daggers at the people, your gut feeling proven right.

"No one choose them!" A harsh, deep, and distorted, yet feminine voice roaring out from beneath the bandages, the woman's eyes seeming to boil red beneath her almost-ragged wraps.
The entire gallery turns back to look at her and her companions, visibly startled from Friend's speech and this sudden bold command.

Friend laughs out loud as though he'd just been told a terribly funny joke,"Ah, I had wondered when you three would speak up. How do you do?" His form is unphased, his voice still as sweet, dark and charming as always.
An accusing finger points him out from the bandaged woman,"To all of you here! Remember that these people are terrorists and murderers! They have destroyed your city, and flooded your land!" Her finger falls upon you," And there are already those amongst us that have defected! Do not be fooled by this one's lies!"

The people look uncertain rather than resolute in the face of this information. You look at the amazon and she seems like she could go either way, the others? Maybe not.

Voting for silence as well. And as for inactivity, it is 1 AM in America after all. Not that big a surprise.
>>
>>29817565
Keep our voice calm and level.

"And now the truth is known, it's been a year since magic appeared and we didn't know a damn thing about it until this happened.

There was always going to be some huge magical disaster that revealed magic to the world, only question was when, and it could've been much worse than a city."
>>
>>29817565
>And there are already those amongst us that have defected! Do not be fooled by this one's lies!"
"Defected sides? I don't recall ever saying I was on yours. If you have any other questions ask them now. Otherwise, you are free to leave"

>>29817906
Well, there's nationalities. You'll see why she said that soon.

>>29817565
"Why did you ever think I was on your side?

You don't even have a side, your only commonality is wanting to kill the Followers. You'll start infighting the moment someone throws the first punch.

I want to change the world, and I wouldn't be able to do that with you."

yeah I gotta sleep now, work tomorrow
shame cause I love this quest :(
>>
>>29817565
I really want to get the Amazon, so we ought to say something.

"I never said I was on your side, the Followers are stronger than you and know far more as well.

I want power, and I won't get it with you."

You keep your expression as calm as placid as you can manage, though you can feel the daggers pointed at you by the eyes of the gallery. You shrink a little bit on the inside and you van feel Emilia and Hunter's unease at the development.
You of course can't deny her claim, yet by arguing against it you give this bitch more fuel to throw in this fire.
She carries on, dropping her finger now," These people burn countries, they have attacked other cities in California. They have razed Los Angeles, drowned San Francisco and done the same to San Jose!
They are not to be trusted!"

You shift in your stance a little uncomfortably with the new information. Up north too? They've.. they've spread this far.

You see some lights start to flicker among the crowd, some of the more savvy people among them preparing to fight until...

"Enough." Friend raises his hand, a gentle, yet booming voice calming the hearts of the many. Once the chatter ceases aside from the woman about to open her mouth again, a bunch of whys and hows among the people, their panic still quite evident.
"This woman tells the truth. We have taken those cities that lie as centers for ignorance of the outside world to fester and swell. We are washing it away, giving clean slates to those that learn of their own power, and allowing them to choose their own path."

The woman nearly cuts him off before friend gestures to her with an open passing palm, his posture composed still,"You follow the path of blood. Who are you?" He asks, though his expression shows that he must know well who she is.
>>
The Wrapped Woman seems to bite her tongue, faltering for a moment in her frenzied rant,"I am Beliala, all you need to know, you son of a bitch!" One of her partners places a hand upon her shoulder, in some attempt to calm her down.
Friend nods with a knowing look, grinning a bit wider than before,"Ah. I am no son of a female dog," He chuckles at his own terrible joke," And your friends?"

The Man with the good posture seems to be holding something in a wrap now," I am Garde, we are of the OverWatch in service to NATO to protect and serve the commonwealth- against those intent to use magic for genocide," his own civilized voice amplified by the pulse of milky blue within his throat.
"We have come here to do away with the insurgency that has taken root here," Garde looks around warily, checking the men and women at the exits, they must be looking for help from the audience to get out of here, or are they that confident?
Your own vantage point tells you that the conflict in the audience is reaching a very clear climax, it's going to be a fight soon.

>[] Throw the first "punch." Explode your prepared water into steam to cause total confusion.

>>29818658
>[X] Speak your case. You may not have Friend's charm, but you should be able to relate to the people, maybe you can sway them?

"You mean you're with the people who have been abducting civilians who showed magical talent and kept the existence from us for a full year.

Well, it's good to know that Government dogs come in the magical variety.

Society has to change, the existence of magic is too big a difference from our previous lives for our current society to work. Thus, change. All you managed to do is delay this. It isn't pleasant in the interim, but eventually we'll rebuild and make it better than before."

>>29818814
Speaking of Summoning Fara, would an Incantation make it easier or lessen the burn?
>>
>>29818843
It'd lessen the burn, though wouldn't make her any more powerful unless used for an actual ritual summon.

I'll allow incantations now- I forgot to insert the bit about Faraji's training after the summon.

Asher knows:
>Incantations ease the use of magic by significantly reducing burn, though often give away and delay the spell you're about to cast.
>He is not limited only to water, though for now it is what he's come into magic with. An unusual occurrence, yet not unexpected.
>Bones can drain or reduce a spell. Though they are less likely yo be able if the spell isn't something relying on permanence. (I.E a tentacle of water or a wall of sand vs pocket steam)
>His Summon is not the soul of a dead woman, but a shade. He will eventually learn the difference on his own.

>>29818799
>>29818698
I'll do the speech before the summon- mind the fact that conjuring up a manifested entity of ice and water appears as a legitimate threat.
>>
>>29818968
Well, given that it's going to be pretty obvious that we're summoning her we may as well use an Incantation.

"Fara darling, come sing for me."

Because one of the first things we're going to want her to do is banshee screaming when we get attacked.

You grit your teeth, beside yourself, feeling a slight vein of anger squirm its way into your blood. They're calling Friend out, they're calling you out, and they're calling you murderers? Hell, even if they were the ones that caused the disasters, you could barely believe the people that you saw take the time to treat Emilia.
By all rights, it's not something that you have particular stake in, but they're swaying the people with just as many half-truths as The Followers may.

Yeah, fuck them.

Clearing your throat, the first thing that you're thankful for is the fact that your throat isn't parched.
Speaking clearly and as loud as you can over the raising murmur of the furious crowd, you decide to be the one to push them even harder, only in your way,"You mean you're with the people who have been abducting civilians who showed magical talent and kept the existence of magic from us for a full year!?”
You hear a sudden silence take the crows as you break yours, they're listening to you, some are trying to shout and you tell them to shut the fuck up, right along with that wrapped up whore in the back row.
“Well, it's good to know that Government dogs come in the magical variety,” You call them out with no small amount of snark.
“Society has to change, the existence of magic is too big a thing to keep from the public. You really expect we want to be kept ignorant!? The Followers are teaching, and giving us a choice. The only thing your people seem to want is for us to stagnate. We have the power to change the world- fuck if it's still a piece of crap afterwords.”
You flip them the bird for good measure,”Fuck you, I want to make my own damn future instead of being a fucking slave!”

Your little speech has a lot of people turning their anger back on the OverWatch, those skeptical looking for the exits, and some still turning thoughtful. It's at that point that Friend sees his chance among the sudden lull.
>>
“I thank you, for speaking so frankly.” He nods to you, before turning back to the crowd,” We are the builders of the future, even if it may not be the brightest one. Our war is upon the darkness of the old world, and those that would keep you ignorant of the truth. I ask you now, join us, and rid our ranks of dissenters, choose t-”

Friend is cut of by Wrapped Bitch leaping from her seat, across the gallery, and straight at him, a fist poised to make contact, the force of her motion distorting the air itself. Yet you don't see this, all that catches your vision is a crimson red streak, and the sudden stop of the woman in midair by the sapphire glow of Friend, whom chooses to throw her to the ground before finishing his word.
“Choose enlightenment!” He yells, finishing his speech as a foot catches him off guard, the woman having gripped the wood panels of the stage, making them creak and groan under her immense might.
A second foot comes around to make contact and the Bone-guard upon the stage reveals his own colors to intervene, closing the distance and forcing the woman's leg away with force enough to cast her back, yet putting her back upon her own two feet, one hand touching growl, a snarl parting with her lips through her crimson glare.

With that moment, you realize that the woman is definitely not a nerve. Nothing telling suggests a nerve should move that way.
>>
You turn your attention back to Garde, and his other ally that seems to be uttering something. The fabric upon something that Garde's holding peels itself away as his own milky blue colors pulsate through his veins, coating his weapon with its own illustrious steel-cobalt sheen. He hops up onto his seat, poised to attack,” I will strike down any that are an enemy to peace and order, those that would side with genocide!” He barks it out as quickly as he can as he's encircled by the mob.

You kind of feel great about that as you slide a hand into your pocket, drawing forth Fara's tear.
It's then that you realize- you could get directly involved, or you could remain where you are.

The other Followers at the doors seem to only be moving for those that seek escape. Path of Peace, right? Gotta be at least a few that don't want to fight.

"Fara darling, sing for me."

I'll be running again Tuesday, so ya know.
>>
>>29820120
Good to know.

There's still a mob around him, right? And Fara can go through them without any trouble, right?

So she should have an easy time darting in for attacks and retreating. It's hard to hit an intangible opponent in a crowd.
>>
>>29820141
i'm not going to sleep. i just woke up an hour ago. but my eyes are still feeling the sand
>>
>>29820148
When she manifests, she'll be made of water and ice. If you expect her to bear the properties of before, her claws would be able to rend normal human flesh with little difficulty.
>>
>>29820176
I think water should be able to flow through the crowd more easily than most. Not quite intangible, but water is good at going through cracks and small spaces. It's not perfect, but it does add to her mobility.

I'm pretty happy that we got this girl.
>>
“Fara darling, Sing for me,” You whisper as you resolve to get involved with this. You don't like the look of that sword, and if things are going right, you're all going to get a ridiculous amount of recruits that you'd rather not be riddled with stab-wounds.

You toss the tear, and the soggy carpet dries itself from all around as water pours and freezes into her form from before.
A modest apron, sleeves of snow, a water form and an ice of mask.

Through the connection of minds between summon and summoner, she moves to your order right away as you feel the tool taken upon your nerves. The incantation did its job for reducing the initial cost, but sustaining her? Like a gradually worsening headache in the back of your skull that begins as a dull ringing. You'll need to end this soon.

She drives over the crowd playing upon the air like the watery phantom that she is. Poised to attack, you see Garde's eyes lock upon her, the rapier at the ready to strike.
She starts to lash out, only to suddenly withdraw, as if perplexed. That's all it took to save her from a swift stab that falls just short, yet makes her visage flicker as she swoops back, out of presumed reach from the man's ghastly blade as he turns it straight upon someone else that's interfered with his personal space.
(Ow! That hurt!) She whines through your link.(Uhm, what do you mean “scream?”)
Your own eyes go wide, and your heart drops to realize that she's not quite like that banshee from the grocery. For starters, her face is a frozen mask, how is she to emit that scream? Then again, it broke before, and she had begun... But she was also scared and in pain.

The fighting between Friend, Faraji, the Bone-Guard, and the Bandaged Beliala increases in tempo. The bitches movements are blurred into crimaon red streaks, striking fast and hard, pushing Friend back with every unorthodox and bone-crushing attack that she performs, tearing apart the wooden stafge with every downward miss. Faraji calls upon his own summon, yet abstains from having it engage directly, preferring to pelt the woman with fire, forcing her to feel the heat, yet not quite slowing her down until Friend dips in. Catching a fist from the woman, he seems to reel, yet lock her in place, his own sapphire aura glowing brightly beyond his skin, seeming to suppress and smother her glow as she looks to visibly weaken, and Friend look a bit weary, and a bit .. less charming?

Garde's ally has revealed his colors, still seeming to chant something at length, this could be bad.

Well, fuck. Note to self, spend some time with her reteaching her to scream.

>[] Change tactics, have chill the air around that fencer.

Smash as much water as we can into him before having her freeze it. Once he's slowed down a bit have her look for opportunities to dash in and slash his legs open with her claws.

>>29820521
"I'm sorry Fara, this might hurt."

>[] Force pain upon her, make her scream to disable that man's sword.

Have her scream as we're sending a spear of ice into his neck.
>>
You sigh, relaying new orders to her. Chill the air, and wait for attack.
(These people, they're bad, right?)
You tell her so. They don't want to help you and you need her help with them. Though, you realize it's a bit distracting- the fact that she's speaking like a child. Wasn't it a woman that died or something? Goddamn.
(Sorry) She's a bit apologetic, yet she begins to sweep around just out of reach of the sword, frost forming upon the most air as she asserts her power.
Gotta give her credit, she's better at freezing than you are.

You call up the water from the floors, surging it past the people that have gathered, yet remain wary of the man's sword after seeing it maim a few people, causing the weaker-willed to flee. Yet as you feel the flow of water causing your nerves to flame up with your cyan glow, there's a noticeable block as Garde's ally ceases chanting, seemingly composed for something that took so long. Garde almost mockingly lowers his sword as people thrash against an invisible force, the two of them speaking to each other words that you can't hear.
(There's... A wall? I can't see past it... I hear them speaking of retreat.)
You ask Fara what she's talking about, a wall? You strain a little harder, your water rising up against the outer rim of the invisible fields, giving it something of an outline. To your dismay, it holds up solid.

You feel a hand upon your shoulder, and you nearly jump as the heat pours through your nerves, driving them to feel raw and like hot irons.
“We'll help too, I liked your speech,” Emilia whispers, glancing up at something. You follow her vision, and see Hunter slip through the crowd and past the seats like a Lion prowling through blades of grass.
>>
Fights break out amongst the crowd, devolving the riot into what you'd witnessed the other night, the crash of power and the revealing of colors among the angrier individuals that seek blood, only restrained from the one that can offer it.

You feel Emilia's hand leave your shoulder, and with a brilliant silver-salt pulse through her veins, she drives forward.
Hunter touches the wall of water, and you let it go, to give yourself a brief rest.
(The Hunter!) You watch him carefully at Fara's word, just as Garde raises hos rapier again, poised to strike hunter with a life-ending thrust...

>You have a moment to act!
>Burn: Moderate~

SUB ZERO THE GROUND UNDER HIM HOPE HE SLIPS AND FALLS
>>
>>29820961
Make Fara scream. Whatever it takes.

Then have her do as much damage to Garde as possible.

If we can also take an action make some water near Garde's ally turn into steam and scald him. That invisible wall is annoying.
>>
>>29821010
I like the scalding idea but making her scream just seems silly.

Slip her back into the Ether
>>
>>29821042
Do you have any clever ideas for stopping Garde from stabbing Hunter? Because with that magic rapier he might not survive it.

Getting her to scream gives him a chance, it's unpleasant but he's starting to get vaguely useful.
>>
>>29821055
I think we need to trust in his strength. He survived aswell and we haven't seen what he can do.
>>
>>29820974
So nobody really has any other ideas. So I'm voting for this.
>>
>>29820961
Quickly tell Fara to help him. she is all about helping people.
>>
>>29821090
He'll probably get stabbed. Garde is not an amateur at this, he has experience, Hunter is fresh blood and not that experienced in combat, and is a hunter, not the best at straight up conflict.

We need to give him a window of opportunity, because I really have my doubts that he'll accomplish much if we don't do something to help him.

Garde needs to be taken down, a bit of pain along the way is acceptable.
>>
Any other thoughts? You actually have a few options here.

>>29821247
Is Garde at all wet currently? Is there water under him? Where is Hunter relative to Garde? How close is Fara to them?

Is the wall still up?

If Fara can bust through the wall or if it's gone then she can slice his achilles tendon open.
>>
>>29821292

The wall is still up, it's defending him and his associate at once. Hunter tried to open up from a blind-side not far from behind the man, though he was noticed.

There's not yet a hole in the wall, and you can't feel your magic pushing through the things.

Fara's just out of range at around five meters from the lunge, while te wall is about 3 meters in diameter.

There's water all around the wall from your previous efforts, yet none within that you can control right now.
>>
>>29821345
Is Hunter armed with anything at the moment?

How long does it take to summon up something small?

Are there any limitations on where we can summon things?

We could turn the water on the wall into steam, use that to block his line of sight. Hunter dodges the blow, Garde opens up a hole in it with his rapier to stab, we make as much water and steam rush into the box as possible and heat it up.
>>
>>29821398
>How long does it take to summon up something small?
Without a prior contract, or a preconceived though, it'll take quite a bit longer than you have time for. Your communication with Fara however is the speed of thought.
>Are there any limitations on where we can summon things?

Not precisely, though it helps when you can see the area. You sense that this "wall" is blocking your magic as well.
>>
>>29821398
Also, adding to my post here, make sure Fara is on the other side from Hunter so he can't pay attention to both at once. If he pays attention to Hunter have Fara try to open up a hole in the other side with her claws, and dart away if he moves to attack her.

Basically if he goes for one of them the other moves in, don't let him up from the pressure.

>>29821440
Oh well, there goes my potential plan to summon something in the path of the blade. At least for now.
>>
Just hurt Fara. Get this over with. Sure Dran wants to go to bed
>>
>>29821456
>>29821468
I'm fine with getting her to scream, we'll apologize afterwards and explain things, if we can do that at the same time as blocking Garde's line of sight to Hunter with steam, so much the better.

It ought to leave him pretty disoriented between those two things which'll hopefully give us a chance to take him down.

Fire enshrouds the woman on the stage as Faraji sets to work against her having been bound by Friend. She grits her teeth hard as the fires dance over her body, burning away her covers to reveal the presence of curling back demon-horns, a human, though grotesque face bearing blood-red volcanic eyes. The flames lap over her form like a dog even as her strength seems to wane under Friend's assertions.

He's pushing himself hard right now though, and the demonette that he's up against continues to push him hard, right up until the bone-guard at his side brings down a chop of his own hand bearing a dark gray. The strike cleanly cuts off one of the woman's arms, right on up to her elbow, causing her to scream bloody murder. Friend seems to wane in his efforts for a moment and the grotesque woman slips a hand around the back of his head, bringing her horned visage forward for a skull-crushing contact that sounds like the clack of a solid metal newton's cradle.

Friend's reeling, as the bitch is growling venom at the man, his hold dropped, and her will to fight still in tact. The bone-guard drives at her with his own power, the dark gray giving him the appearance of a flowing unrefined iron as he trades blows with her, barely keeping up with the woman's superior speed and power, she entirely ignores Faraji as she battles, the mage withdrawing from this fight. The Burning Woman quickly grabs Friend and moves him to safety as the demonic berserker goes to town with her rip and tear one-armed strategy, driving herself into an absolute frenzy as she drives the man into the crowd, her blood-red eyed boiling with a glazed over fury as she pursues the man that's somehow escaped with little in way of harm.

You see the sword line up with Hunter and something comes over you. Seeing him get hit is not on your agenda.
With a slight flex of your fingers and a stoic gaze that belies your seething fury underneath your sudden calm, you force steam to erupt through the seats like a geyser, scalding everyone in its path while your nerves burn like an absolute motherfucker, the spell backfires a bit though as it hits Fara, causing her to scream in agony from the heated spell, her maw disconnecting from her frozen mask and the horrible wail stunning everyone near her.

Your spell does the trick as Hunter flinches through the scream, and the sudden burst of steam making the thrust a near miss, and having an unwitting person of the mob getting impaled instead. Hunter resumes his ministrations of his own magic force against the wall. Moans in pain, trembling through the residual steam
(H-hurts... B-burning...)

You try commanding her, yet she's too distraught.
Still feeding her power through your link, you begin to regret it as pain continues to shoot up your arm, forcing you to sweat as your once-buzzing headache worsens.
>>
>>29821792
Do we suggest things now?

Apologize and let her receed back into the Ether, let the jets cool down and observe the situation.
>>
>>29822037
"You've helped me greatly today." or something. She'd like to know that.
>>
Cutting Fara off, you return her to the ether for now to spare you the exertion.

Garde's recovery is a quick one however, and Hunter's faced again with that magic blade turned upon him once again just as he slips past the wall. Your eye catches that amidst the beastial roar from the stage that gives Garde pause as his attention shifts. You take advantage of the moment to pour your steam in, ensuring that it's scalding as your hand begins to temble against your will, your brain starting to hurt and your vision starting to get fuzzy.

You figure you almost can't take it anymore when Emilia makes contact, wrapping the steam upon the air into a dozen tiny crystals that fire with her light into the hole made by Hunter.

The attack falls a little flat though as the more obvious ones are quickly slapped aside by the lightning-quick blade, a couple simultaneous ones ending up in his collarbone and kidney though....
If he's a vein he can take much more abuse.
The other Associate, the nerve stares at her before pressing a hand out as she's forced out.

Beliala's fight takes a turn for the worse as the woman rages on through the crows, ripping and tearing indiscriminately through the crowd violent crowd.

Seems the Bone-guard is en route to rendezvous with Garde...

>End.

We really need to make some oaths. As soon as possible, a few extra spell levels ought to make a world of difference.

Yep. Oath of Celibacy is my first choice. I'd put it in Ice. Really need to upgrade that. Good for getting past armor.

I don't like Oath of Celibacy, it feels forced rather than an Oath Asher would take.
