Last thread, we decided to stat Isaac Clarke... with varying (and interesting) results. This thread, we continue delving into Clarke's mind and will-saves, what his STR stats should be, and the crazy shenanigans that would undoubtedly ensue should he come in contact with teh Normandy Crew.Old thread: >>29531073
/r/ing more techpriest Isaac.
>>29557219I'd say his suit should probably give +3 or 4 to his strength stat
>>29557219>tehRegardless, I just don't know about his STR. The best example of it is his stomping, right? Well, a lot of people seem to think mag-lock boots sound like a logical explanation, but I dunno. In DS1 and 2 he's on a space station and a planet cracker, all metal surfaces, but in 3 he goes outside pretty often, and at least once he's inside a freaking necromorph. >>29557269His suit is pretty badass. Air supply, kinesis and stasis modules, environmental resistances, pretty good armor, an probably a strength boost.
>>29557301it's a typo, dammit.
>>29557219>mfw The Reapers created the Markers as a failsafe way to wipe out life
>>29557219The suit is definitely servo-assisted at some point. If you consider that in the beginning of DS2, right by the very first store, there is a digital scale you can stand on top of. According to that scale he weighs 195lbs in his patient rig thingie, and 255lbs after you have him put a suit on.This means the damn things weighs 60 pounds, which in turn means that either he's superduper strong to be able to run and fight in that thing, or it's powered.
I wonder what the stats for a necromorph would be?They count as aberrations, if someone gave me a CR, I could try to whip one up for pathfinder.
>>29557441Given many points in his career where he has no doubt needed to lift heavy things, I assume it's both.
>>29557495That's what they have the kinesis module for, though. Then again, it IS made for mining-and-such in hostile environments where it definitely would make sense for it to add to your strength. In case of heavy equipment that you can't kinesis-lift like the tools, as well as not getting crushed by potentially falling rocks, it's probably handy.
>>29557460I remember reading that CR5 was the point where a single creature could wipe out an entire small town. Considering what a single Necromorph can do, I'd set it at 5.
>>29557563Don't forget the whole escalating Aliens-esque effect where everyone that dies becomes more necromorphs
>>29557441Yeah that is what a knight would wear and its sealed so far less breathable. It has to have climate control and power assistance or he would have collapsed dead from exhaustion long before he managed to get through the Ishimura.
>>29557583Yeah, now that I think about it, there's that AND the ambush predator nature of the Necromorph. Maybe CR3 is a bit better? 3 or 4, they're pretty dangerous, even if most of their tricks are from ambushing and spreading the zombieness.
>>29557605Looking at all the bells and whistles on the EVA suit, I'm inclined to agree
Who's gonna stat BLAST HARDCHEESE?
I think what I liked the most about Dead Space was the constant sense of isolation and vague dread. And the fact your survival rests almost entirely on you staying calm, if you panic everything goes to shit.
>>29557797And forgot to add, not sure how you would really capture that in an RPG without a very good GM and a small party.
>>29557820Still would be fun tho
>>29557820if the party members started in seperate areas and had to get to each other
>>29557373Last thread, somebody suggested that the Markers were a creation of a previous cycle, in an attempt to fight Reaper-tech with Reaper-tech.
>>29557845Oh definitely. A bunch of normal spaceshup crew forced to survive a necromorph outbreak with improvised weapons would be fun.
>>29557897I'm talking about the party ya dingus
>>29557892apparently the original reason for the markers were an ancient civillizations attempt to draw necromorphs away from their galaxy and send them to another galaxy
>>29557913I mean the party would be the normal spaceship crew...

>>29557982>>29557948I think it should have some DR/Slashing.
>>29557995REGULAR vacuum that you can create with a pump isn't absolute zero, but up there in space definitely is.
>>29558037Are you serious? I can't tell anymore.
>>29557976Not necessarily, in the backstory, Aegis 7 was covered in this fleshy-like slime made from dead human skin cells, dust, hair that was the basis of the infection which would later spread. The Infector Necromorph just turns people faster. This also kind of solves how the Valor was infested so quickly. After it crashes, an Infector could have snuck on board turning the Space Marines into Twitchers.
>>29557936that is kinda neat.
>>29558060I just motherfucking looked it up
As it stands, the creature has 52 Average HP, 5 DR/Slashing may boost it past CR 5; maybe bringing the AC down to 16 would fix that, or killing the Fast Healing a bit (bringing it to Fast Healing 2)It can output an average of about 30 damage a round, including Rend, so it's on track for CR 5 in that respect, even with Grab.
>>29557948What kind of Necromorph are we talking about here? It has claws like a Slasher, but it could also be a Spitter.
>>29558037Absolute zero is not possible in a nature. Also, a vacuum has nothing to transfer heat through, so it's basically temperatureless.
>>29558095God damn these fuckers are nastyespecially since they can attack in hordes
>>29558128I wasn't talking about nature, I was talking about space. Heat is the most basic form of energy, so really it mostly depends on if there's a star next to you or not.
>>29558129Let's not forget all the varieties they come in.
>>29558129It's even worse when the Pregnants are involved. Shoot the torso and out spews either a Crawler (made from an infected Baby) or a bunch of Swarmers.
>>29558129Just be glade I decided not to give them lunge, heh.The baby/toddlers would effectively be this creature, but with HP, Nat armor, and whatnot reduced by half, effectively, and small-sized.Then add mob mentality or whatever it's called where 2 can occupy 1 space at no penalty, and boom, you have toddlers.
>>29558155>not in nature>in space
>>29558161>>29558168Not to even mention the elite versions of themand those giant ones that can smash through walls

>>29558037Space is 2-5 kelvin, not zero.
>>29558037yeah but remember you'll be fine as long as your core body temperature doesn't REACH absolute zero.
>>29558250Alright fine, so the page I was looking at was wrong. Whatever. Wikipedia claims space to be 2.7 K which is still really fucking cold, warranting climate control or life support. Also that's not quite right, you do not want your core temperature to drop more than a few degrees at which you get hypothermia.

>>29558358How about the Exploder?
>>29558370There's also nowhere for heat to stay. Kind of like how the Sahara gets freezing cold at night because sand is worthless at retaining heat

>>29558306There's a bit in DS3 where Isaac has to rush between safe rooms on an ice planet without a helmet and in a busted rig so there's a little "core body temp" readout that counts down to 0ºC whenever you're outside the safe houses. As long as that counter doesn't say "0" you're prefectly fine, which is entirely not how it works. But also remember, wrt space, that you're in a perfectly insulating vaccuum remember - there's nowhere for the heat to actually GO so it builds up and so the real problem in space is and ALWAYS is cooling not heating. There was an incident on one of the recent ISS spacewalks where one of the astronauts almost drowned when his coolant system broke and started flooding his suit.Space has weird failure modes.
Just wait till we stat this one...
>>29558799Jesus.Gimmie a CR, and I'll see if I can squish it to fit that.I'm guessing Minimum CR 8, but I may be highballing.
> Normandy CrewWell, lets see.Isaac and Shep would probably have a good cop/bad cop sort of feel to them. They are both protagonists trying to share a story, and Isaac probably doesn't follow orders too well. Unless you went femshep, and Isaac is the "dude with issues" romance option.Tali and Isaac probably get along great as long as it is a tech discussion, but I doubt she could ever fully trust him due to all of the crazy.Jack would probably love antagonizing him to get a reaction, confident that she can take him if it turns ugly.Joker makes fun at his expense, but that's just Joker being Joker.Grunt probably doesn't know what to do with him, but I imagine would have some respect once he saw Isaac go nuts on the enemy... and the fact that there are probably not a lot of things that scare Isaac anymore.Mordin considers him an amazing specimen, and wants to take some samples.Garrus probably cuts him some slack because the dude is clearly broken.Miranda and EDI consider him too dangerous to keep on the ship.Thane, Samara, and Jacob are too boring to have opinions.Zaeed tells the story of the time he and a group of about 200 other mercs stumbled on a Marker in Batarian space. Zaeed was the only one to make it back alive.Who did I miss?
>>29558634Nevermind all the other things, it's kinda iffy to base your beliefs of core temperature on a video game. A mere two-degree loss of core temperature does in fact count as hypothermia, and I don't think you're even conscious if you lose 10 degrees.Basically that counter thing was bullshit and do not under any circumstance rely on it anywhere outside that particular scene. Seriously.
>>29558441>There's also nowhere for heat to stay.Uh, yes there is. Your body. A vacuum is a near-perfect insulator, making convection transfer completely impossible, and the human body does not emit much radiant heat.A completely naked human in the total vacuum of space will not freeze for almost a year.

My personal theory on the suit. It's a servo assisted amored environment suit, with gravity force generating boots. To wit: the suit is designed to operate in EVA. that means a) climate control as well as water supply for extended operations (and catheters but lets not go there), and b) armor protection of some kind to shield against micrometeoroids. The suit is servo assisted. This is logical for two reasons, the first being its weight, as mentioned previously (it weighs AT LEAST 60 lbs, since we don't know how much the straitjacket weighed). The second is that Isaac is anything but dextrous while wearing it. Even his melee attacks, the untrained swings of a scared survivor, seem slow and cumbersome. I suspect this is due to the inherent lag in response time between when Isaac begins to attempt to do something, and when the suit starts to assist him.Third, the boots. It is shown in the games that humans of the Dead Space 'verse have access to gravity control. It is likely that this, and not magnetics, is what powers Isaac's boots. And like any engineer, he knows how to turn up the power well beyond the normal limit, thus making his foot momentarily weigh hundreds of pounds, hence the STOMP OF THE GODS. The same effect can be viewed in revers in the Ishimura's malfunctioning gravity plating.tl/dr it's not a suit, it's goddamn power armor. Apologies for bad punctuation, I'm on my mobile phone.

Glowing lights. Every little dot on the holo-screen was another sun, another system, surrounded by worlds, each holding life. Saying it was massive did the universe no justice. Saying it was vast, even infinite, still didn't capture it. From where she stood, she could look over the depth and breadth of all known space, at the wave of a hand, she could see the sum existence of any known planet. And glowing before her, glittering like a little jewel suspended in air was a distress beacon. One of many she had seen and investigated; but this one was somewhat different. It was suspended in a areas of dead space. No planets, no trade routes, not even a vague hint of life anywhere near it, even in the very relative terms of space travel. "Right, crew, set a course. We're the only good guys in the neighborhood, might as well help these guys out." "And if it's yet another slaver ship?" Jack's dry sarcasm was only sharpened by the rather large wound she was still nursing from their last encounter with slavers. "If it's a slaver ambush; I'm sure we can take care of it," She allowed herself a small smirk, and nodded over to Grunt, "You feel worried?" "Slavers come, slavers die." Grunt shrugged, going back to busying himself with a small holoscreen. She turned to stare Jack down, lifting one eyebrow in silent challenge. "Any other objections?" She turned to the rest of the crew, the silence was hard to read; weary, uneasy, but at the same time, she could feel the determination of her friends, her compatriots. "Then what are we waiting for?"Should I continue? Sorry if the formatting is bad.

>>29560529>>29560537Ok. The air of the ship was thin, too thin to breathe safely, and a thick and heavy fog of dust caught the light, filling the empty husk of a ship with an eerie, ghastly glow. After the initial docking, she chose to pull Garrus, Tali and Leigon for this op. The first for his expertise in combat, and the latter for their technical skill; places like this were a deathtrap if you didn't know what you were doing, and the last thing Shepherd needed was a reactor to go critical, or some ancient security system to decide to lock them in. "Shepherd, I'm detecting low-power energy signals; the ship's reactor looks as stable inside as it did outside. If anyone is alive they'll likely-" "We detect a singular heat signature 300 meters from our location." "You don't need to interrupt me." "Opinion information seen as irrelevant. Location of possible survivor found." "Garris, go with Tali, check the engine and look for any hint on how this thing got here. Leigon, you're with me; let's get that survivor." "Shepherd, do you think that is wise?" "Better than hearing you two argue all the time. Keep in radio contact." Leigon took the lead, moving in it's, usual, noiseless way. Shepherd had to admire it, or them, or whatever it wanted to call itself; it was good at it's job. Snapping back to the task at hand, she scanned the walls and floor, looking for tripwires, panels, anything out of place. The hulk may have been deserted, but that didn't mean it was harmless. "We believe we have found the correct door." "Excellent. Can you hack it?" "We cannot. The power is disabled; and the door appears to be welded shut." Shepherd cursed under her breath. Always a complication.

Even through the crackle of the static, Tali's voice was sharp with irritation. Shepherd allowed herself an exasperated sigh, "Do us a favor and calculate the possibility of cracking this door open." "We would require a cutting tool." "Joker, can you hear us? We need a cutting tool to get this door open. It's too dangerous to use shaped charges." "I'll see what I can find." "Tali, got anything for me?" "The ship appears to be a mining vessel, captain, though there are no signs of any kind of malfunction." "Then the question is, what stranded it out here?" She turned to shine a light down the hallway. Something about it felt off. "Could the ship have been breached? Asteroid, maybe?" "That certainly would explain the low air pressure, but no, sir." Garrus' voice crackled over the comms, "I'm looking at the ship's manifest, there's no sign of any damage; and the ship lists 18 crew."

Device contains a high density energy charge in stable form. We believe it is some form of mining equipment." "What kind?" "We will check." "Tali, Garrus, we got some kind of mining gear here, got anything in the control computer about a 211-v?" "Hang on, I'm looking it up right-" "211-V, Plasma cutter, used for mining and repair operations. We believe it to likely have enough charge to cut open the door." "Well, anything else you want us to look up?" "We think you have completed your mission, return to the ship." "Legion, cut it out. Tali, Garrus, I may need your help here."

"The device appears to operate similar to a handgun. We expect it could be operated by this armature with little difficulty." "Great. Joker, tell Chakwas to ready the medbay." "On it, captain." She turned, nodding to Legion "How's our friend on the other side doing?" "Vital signs impossible to detect through solid wall, but heat signature is stable, but fading." "Captain, I've retreived the remainder of the ship's data. We're headed down the hall to you now." "Right. Legion, blow the door. No time to waste." "We would suggest you stand back, Shepherd." Even in the thin air, the keening bark of plasma on metal was startling. Legion paused for a moment, regarding the effect, before firing again, repeatedly, methodically. With the final shot explended, the silence that settled over the two of them was ominous. "The door is unsealed. Manual operation is necessary to open it." "Right. No time to waste, then." She muttered as her hands pressed against the metal door and gave it a hard shove. Old, worn bearing grouned in protest, but the door slowly shifted aside, leaving enough room to get through. She slipped into the room, pitch black and apparently empty, as she scanned the walls first and then the floor. Finally her light rested on a small figure, huddles in a far corner. she ran up, gun still trained, eyes still scanning. "Legion, get my back, I've got our passenger." "Affrimative."
>>29561875sorry, got 3 or so more parts here. "Tali, Garrus, you got the way back clear and covered?" The crackle of the radio and two curt replies gave her all the impetus she needed. she holstered her pistol, and scanned his vitals with her Omni. He was alive, if barely; on the verge of starvation and dehydration, severe bone mass loss, and some physical trauma. He was wearing some kind of space suit; it's integrity had been ruined years ago and tatters of the fibers that comprised it clung like dusty cobwebs to him. "Up you go, soldier." She muttered, lifting him. He was surprisingly light. "I'm sending my Omni's scans to you guys; he's banged up real bad. Lucky him, if we had missed him by a few days, he'd be a goner." "How's our patient, doc?" Shepherd sat, reclining in the medbay, eyes absent-mindedly reading over the new passenger's vitals. "He appears to be physically fine, now. We were able to slowly bring up his bone density, his weight and body mass have both gotten to much safer levels. But I'm concerned by his physical trauma." "Why's that?" "It appears that some of these injuries," Dr, Chakwas turned, regarding her patient with a small sigh, "They appear to be self inflicted." There was a leaden pause, before she gestured to him again, "I've decided, for the sake of safety, to keep him sedated and restrained for the length of his healing; though he appears healthy enough now to take him off of sedation, I would prefer if we kept him restrained for the time being." "I've got no problem with that; if this guy is a danger to himself, or any of us, I'd rather be safe than sorry." "Did you have any luck with the ship's records, captain?"
>>29561893 "Not really; we're still analyzing it, but it looks like a dead end. there's irreparable damage to any recording systems, Tali thinks that the ship might have somehow short-jumped from a mass relay. No identification on him, and we checked the rest of this ship; no bodies. 17 people just up and vanished into nowhere." "Unnerving, maybe they-" The screaming took them both by surprise; there was no build up, no gradual change from silence to the man's current roaring fury. He had wrested himself upright as he could letting out a wordless, pained wail, as if his very soul was being cut from him. For a moment, Shepherd could swear she tasted blood, as a wave of unease washed over her. "Sir! Calm down, you're safe!" Chakwas dashed to the man, pressing him down into the bed as he convulsed, now soundless, eyes wide and lolling in his skull. "Damnit, captain, hold him down!" He was still weak, too weak and tired to put up any resistance, still he thrashed as best he could against the firm hands keeping him in place, as Chakwas grabbed a syringe. He muttered wordless syllables, now, low, angry, guttural mumbling that sounded almost like a broken, aboriginal language.
>>29561865Thanks.
>>29561913 "Wait, doc. I think he's saying something." she leaned in closer, trying to catch his madly swiveling eyes, "Hey, can you see me? Can you hear me?" He continued for a moment, blubbering silently, skipping about, face contorted in a mix of pain and fury. "Hey." She shook him sharply, and he stopped, eyes finally locking onto her face, "What is your name?" He stared for what seemed forever, his empty, wide eyes boring through space, as they slowly came into focus. His face slowly softened, eyebrows still furrowed, a permanent grim scowl planetd on his face. "Isaac. My name. Is Isaac." He seemed to be trying to remember; whether his own name or the way to speak it, he talked in a jilted manner, "Where. Where?" "You're safe. Rest for now, you've got a lot of people who want to ask you questions, but right now, doc says you're injured. Can you do that, Isaac? Can you understand me?" "Safe? Safe?!" He tried struggling again, "Nobody is safe, damnit! Get me away from here! you fucking idiots don't know what you're messing with! It's all a lie!" "Isaac, look at me. Look. At. Me." She shook him again, his shoulder was so thin, skin stretched taught over bones, "Whatever happened, you're alright. We've got you safe and sound. This is Dr. Chakwas. She's in charge of making sure you're ok." "It won't work. It won't. I told you..." He seemed lost again, in his own mind. "Hey!" She gripped him tighter, he yelped, eyes refocusing, "Calm. Down." He stared at her, breath ragged and short, eyes trying deperately to focus through whatever fog was invading his mind. Eventually his breathign slowed, and his eyes shut. "My name is Isaac Clarke, and you should have left me to die."Ok, more?

I've wondered, does killing a necromorph actually do anything beyond making it stop moving at the moment? It's still dead tissue and the markers can reanimate anything, including dust/skin cells/food stores, into pretty much anything they want. In the prequel comic the colony's airvents were getting clogged by necromorph material made from human skin cells or dust.
Its interesting how a character that did not even talk got so well appreciated. I think its partly because they still managed to convey his emotions very well.
>>29562953Now that you think about it, that kind of explains why sometimes Necromorph corpses are no longer in an area where you killed them. In the first game, you can see a Slasher drag an uninfected corpse to an area for an Infector to get. From this, I think that there are able bodied Necros collecting the dead for easier infection.
>>29562988it was just enough the grunting and body posture was well done and it was also nice the big reveal at the end was that he was just a regular dude and not some ARMSLAB MCBIGHUGE
>>29562953The destruction of a necromorph's limbs sends the infecting entity into remission/regression/inactivity. Without limbs it has no ability to act. However, given that we see much much MUCH larger ones in the Brethren, its possible the leftovers may be used as 'living' spare parts.
>>29561930"Right, Mr Clarke, we found you in deep space, in an empty sector devoid of life, can you talk about how you needed up there?"Shepherd scanned the holoscreen before her; Kelly had requested a chance to talk to their passenger, one on one. She didn't like the idea of leaving one of the Normandy's crew members in a room with an unpredictable stranger, but she had insisted. For the last few minutes, they'd been talking in circles, Isaac always seeming to shut down at any question, instead insisting he needed to be left alone."I was trying to be alone.""And so you flew your ship into empty space?""Yes.""With a crew?""No. No crew. Me, alone. I was, I was trying, you understand? I can't be near anyone. It's not safe.""Why isn't it safe? You seem perfectly fine.""It's inside of me. I've got something in me that I can't,"He swallowed hard, shifting, "I can't control it.""And does this something make you do things?""No. Yes-well, no. No it wants me to, but I'm stronger. Stronger than it.""What is it?""I can't.""Can't what?""I won't say it. You can't make me say it. You're trying. Trying I can see it. You want me to say it. To bring it back, but I won't. It's gone. I've locked it away. I don't even know what it is, and you can;t make me remember.""You don't remember?""No. I remember not to say it. I remember to forget it, to ignore it on the edge of my mind. You can't make me bring it back.""Why do you not want to remember."He paused, and looked away. "I'm sorry, what was that?"His head snapped back, straining against his bonds, "You. Would. All. Die.""I'm sorry but-"
Ignore the post I deleted, it's out of order.>>29563198"You are all going to die if you keep me here. Look at me, now. I'm done playing. I was out there for a reason. I can't keep it away forever. If I remember, then something will happen. Something bad. You will all die. I don't care how safe you think you are, how good you think your intentions are. You. Will. Die.""It's ok, Isaac.""NO IT ISN'T, NICOLE! EVERYONE DIES!" He roared, body writhing as he strained in frustration against his bonds. Kelly waited; Shepherd had to hand it to her, she was unfazed in the face of this madness. He grunted for a few seconds, still shifting around, eyes now again wildly scanning the room. He eventually tired; his body still not recovered from his extended stay in micro gravity, and near starvation. She set down her notebook; she hadn't written a single line in it."Who is Nicole?"He looked up, confused."Nicole?"Slowly, his eyes widened."Oh god."
>>29563191Oh forgot to mention that the necromorphs? When you blast their limbs off, you can see little tendrils on the blasted off limbs writhe before going into the torso.THE NECROMORPH AINT DEAD
>>29563218"So, how's our patient, Kelly?""Schizophrenic. Not violently; but he appears to have some kind of paranoid delusions about some impending doom that exists in his head.""Here's the thing; Isaac Clarke isn't on the crew roster of the ship we pulled this guy from. We've got no clue who he is; and right now the running theory is that he hitched a ride on this ship as a stow away, killed everyone in the ship, and jettisoned them.""I don't think that's likely. His delusions seem rarely violent in nature, and he appears to have concern for the lives of others.""How comforting, so he's not a violent psychopath, just a psychopath.""I would suggest putting him in the care of a acceptable facility as soon as possible; being here isn't good for his health.""We agree on that, at least. We're at least a few more days out, so we shoul-""Cap, we've got trouble! Something's on our ass and whatever it is, it isn't friendly!""Joker, report, how the hell are they tailing us?""I don't know, we should be totally out of sensor range!""Unless." EDI's voice intoned softly, "Docking may have partially damaged the jamming systems.""Damn. Alright, everyone to battle stations! We've got someone who just knocked on the wrong door!""Right, correction, make that three somethings."The unmistakable rumble of weapons hitting the shielding system reverberated through the entire ship."And they are -definitely- not friendly. I'm going for evasive maneuvers; someone needs to repair whatever the hell went wrong.""Can you shoot them down?" Shepherd shouted as she stumbled from where she was to her usual post."I can't even get a bead on 'em! EDI's scanning and they barely show up on the system."
>>295630642 might have been better if they made Isaac try to talk, but only to get cut short by someone/thing else untill the end where he goes FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOUR MARKER, then have what'sher name goes "oh shit you talk! I though you where a mute.". That would have made some serious impact than having him talking all the time.
>>29563232"Great. Tali, please tell me you can fix the problem.""Not without shutting down the whole ship, or going to the hull and fixing it there.""Damnit. Joker, can you get us out of their range?""Trying, trying. EDI, girl, you better not kill us all.""I calibrate that I will likely be able to avoid any significant hull damage for approximately 15 minutes.""Damnit, Joker, why isn't it showing up on our scans?""Hell if I know! I'm trying to figure that out right now!"Another soft thud filled the air as weapons fire raked the ship again, then a second, harder hit that sent half the crew stumbling."Commander Shepherd, the patient-" Shepherd turned, it was Dr. Chakwas, leaning heavily on one of the control consoles as the whole of the ship swayed, "He's saying he can fix the ship!""Great for him, let him know I'm sure he'd do a great job after venting all of us into the void!" "Damnit, what the hell are we getting shot at by?" Joker's hands were a blur at the consoles, initiating every scan he could, "They show up on the electromagnetic and thermal sensors, but barely, and only in short bursts, they aren't showing on visuals at all, and the only readings I get are from their weapons fire!""God damnit, keep us out of the line of fire, I apparently have to go talk to a nutcase." Shepherd roared back, moving as fast as she could as the ship was pelted by light cannon fire.
Isaac was sitting upright, arms and legs still bound, but he looked different. Colder. More determined. Maybe even a bit more sane."Doc here says you can patch up our ship.""I can.""And what makes you think that?""Your docking mechanism is newer than the one my ship used.""You-" the latest volley shook the ship so hard she nearly went face-first into the floor, "What's you point, damnit?""either my ship over-volted and shorted out some of your systems, or part of the docking unit didn't fully disengage. I know how to override the short.""Tali, you hearing this?""Yes, but the only way to reroute it is from outside!""Let me out there."Shepherd looked up, agape."What?""Give me a suit, some mag-lock boots, and a toolkit. I'll rewire short and clear the docking unit.""That's suicidal!" Tali's voice came in sharp. Shepherd looked up at the man bound to the bed, "You heard her.""I've dealt with worse. Either let me fix the ship, or we all die.""Tali?""Well...it is possible.""Goddamnit. Chakwas, untie him.""I'm sorry, what?!""Now.">Aaaand next chunk is gonna be the last for a bit; I have to take my baby sister to ballet practice.
Excellent. Keep them coming, glorious writefag.

“Isaac, wake up.”Fear and rage wash away the fatigue, in a flash, Isaac is lucid and tense, the memory fades but still gnaws at his mind. The doctor sees his anxiety and tension and makes soothing sounds to calm him“Shh, Isaac i-it’s okay. W-whatever that was, it can’t hurt you, it isn’t real. You were h-having a nightmare. Remember where you are! Earth! In the A-Angel’s Mercy Hospital. You were transferred here heavily s-sedated a week ago, do you remember?”Of course he remembers, he’s not insane. After those army types grilled him with questions for who knows how long in that timeless dungeon they call a holding cell, he was told he was being sent to Earth, to the Angels Mercy. At first he didn’t understand why they didn’t just label him insane and throw him in a padded cell. His questioner, who apparently had aspirations to torture people with his nasally, bored voice, cleared up his misunderstandings. The military were offering him an olive branch. Isaac keeps his mouth shut and he doesn’t have to spend the rest of his life dreaming of something better then four walls and a corner to shit in. Knowing he had no other options, he took the deal.
>>29563467“Yes, I remember, of course I remember” The irritation is clear in his voice and he doesn’t attempt to hold it back. The memory of that bastard with his slick hair and his stupid voice was enough to keep him angry for days. The doctor sees his agitation and endeavours to use a calm, reasonable voice. It’s a good try but the stutter gives him away. He’s scared of the psycho engineer and Isaac knows it. This does not improve his mood any.“N-now I know y-you are probably w-wondering w-““BOO” Isaac roars at the top of his lungs, tensing against his restraints in the doctors direction. With a terrified cry the doctor stumbles backwards over the stool he was using and lands on his backside with a loud thud. Before Isaac could do anything more than feel a grim satisfaction, the door to his room slides open.“Having fun scaring our intern Mr Clarke? Feel better now?” The doctor walks in and stands at the foot of Isaacs bed staring calmly into Isaacs eyes. It’s clear from his posture that he is used to this situation. This is better, someone who won’t crap themselves over nothing.“Much.” Isaac retorts, examining the new arrival. Tall. Very Tall. As well as thin.“Well Doctor Stick, what can I do for you?” Isaac, still enjoying the interns embarrassment was feeling a little cocky.
>>29563496“Hm. You are a very intimidating restrained man aren’t you Mr Clarke?” The bored tone of the doctor made it clear he wasn’t impressed by Isaacs bravado. Motioning to the Intern to stand up and show some backbone and not be scared of a man in restraints, which Isaac found impressive to do without saying anything, the doctor asked Isaac to apologise. Which, after some deliberation, he did. “Now, I am Doctor Hayde and you have been transferred here to undergo a proper medical examination. I have asked the higher-ups to authorise a psychiatric evaluation as well after the incident at your arrival but they refused. Apparently a specialist is being flown here to handle your case. A Doctor Naomi if I recall.” The Doctor turned to leave, intern in tow.“What incident?”“Now, for the duration of your stay here, I expect you to be on your best behaviour. You aren’t an animal, so don’t act like one.”“What Incident?”Pausing at the door, Hayde looked back at Isaac with a very serious look.“....Try to keep the intern scaring to a minimum during your stay Mr Clarke.”With that the door slid shut and Isaac was left in his room alone. Still restrained he noticed immediately. Apparently whatever this “Incident” was, was enough to have them scared of him. It also seems that the military were keeping up their end of the deal. This specialist was without a doubt their own agent being sent in to mark him off as sane. Then he was free. Free to have nightmares. Alone. Free to know the truth, free to know that if he dared speak up he would be labelled insane and thrown into a padded cell...“Fuck.”
>>29563515This is my first attempt at writefaggotry. Please critique etc. It might be awhile before Mass Effect enters the scene. I also might have more questions like the Isaac x Physics one I asked earlier.
>>29563542I love you.
>>29563585I'll write some more then.
Oh fuck.>Mass Effect 3>Isaac recognizes a bunch of symptoms Shepard's undergoing>Takes him aside and gives him advice on how to avoid/power through all the nightmares
>>29563675Yeeesss. Yes.
>>29563717I would play the fuck out of this crossover so hard. But you realize that if this really had happened, there is no possible choice for the ending but making the Indoctrination Theory a reality.
>>29563972Fuck that, the Indoctrination Theory is stupd. Though Shepard being indoctrinated/almost indoctrinated but then fighting it off using stuff she learned from Isaac? Yes please.
>>29563515Isaac sat up, heaving, in his bed. Another memory burns bright, death and fear once again being his morning feast. Naomi was coming again today. His Psychiatrist, the one the military sent to label him sane. Only she hadn’t done that yet. She had made it clear upon arrival that he was going to answer every question she had. It seems that in her eyes, Isaac was a fascinating subject, to be thoroughly examined before being released. Standing up, Isaac began his morning exercises, the time spent in transit had atrophied many parts of his body and, after knowing everything he knows, he knew being fit was always a benefit.“Good Morning Isaac, I brought you some food” The door slid open to reveal Naomi. Her curvaceous body marred by the fact he was her prisoner.“Naomi, is Hayde still head over heels in love?” Isaac asked drily. Wishing Doctor Stick hadn’t taken an interest in her, which, in turn, caused him to have an interest in Isaac. “Oh the poor fellow, he’ll never interest me as much as you do Isaac.”
>>29564089There it was again, this strange attachment she seemed to be developing. Once she realised he was exercising she began bringing him food whenever she visited. All he had to do to get something was hint at it. The restraints went first, then the restriction on his access to the hospital ground, now more food every day. Isaac was beginning to find that attachment very useful-Breathing deeply of the rooms smell Naomi smiled “I love it.”-As well as a little bit creepy.“Now” Naomi said, settling into a chair next to his bed, suddenly all business, “You were telling me more of the Ishimura, its inhabitants, as well as the cause of all this business.”“What more is left to tell? I was part of the team that answered the Ishimura’s distress call; we boarded the ship and were subsequently attacked. The offenders killed everyone except for me. I barely escaped alive, then your military boys picked me up, floating in dead space.”“Yes yes, I know all that. Tell me more of the creatures that attacked you. What form did they take? How did they spread? Did t******-“Naomi’s words fade as suddenly Isaac is back on the Ishimura, fighting off skeleton like beings with daggers for hands. The servo’s in his RIG suit whine as he slams his foot into the paste that used to be one of the creatures head. Again and again and again until he is certain the thing is dead. Panting he reared up, heart pounding, as he heard a roar in the distance. That fucking thing was after him again, no matter what he tried it just wouldn’t die. The worst part is, it was getting quicker at finding him, he needed-“Isaac”- to find a way to –“Isaac!”- kill it before it-
>>29564118The full-bodied slap brought him back to the present, he was tensed, his entire body had clenched up and sweat was draining off him like a river. “You just went there, didn’t you?” The excitement in her voice repulses him, “Tell me what you saw!”“I saw... I saw too much. Far too much death, it’s everywhere on that ship. It infected everything including me. I’ll never escape these memories, never. The only thing I have left is preventing others from experiencing what I did. This is why you need to label me sane! I need to get out of here. Make sure that this never happens again!” By the end Isaac was shouting, fear and anger once again rearing their ugly heads. “Isaac you know I can’t do that, even though it is my job to do so. We must go through the procedures, quickly I know, but they must be done nonetheless. Especially after the incident of your arrival. I understand you were stressed but by god, what were you thinking?”“What incident!?”“It doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is we need to find a way to prove to Hayde, as well as to any other person who is interested, that you DID go through evaluation and that every effort WAS made to check your sanity.“Then haven’t we done enough!?”“No, not yet. I have an idea though. In the mean time, tell me more of these creatures and the Ishimura. What controlled them? Did they have a hive-mind like qual-?”White noise. It’s all just white noise.********

>>29564136Another morning, another nightmare. Another bedcover drenched in sweat. It had been days, maybe weeks since Naomi offered the hope of freedom in the form of her “Idea”. In that time she had gleaned as much as she could of the Ishimura and its nightmarish inhabitants from him. He felt like he had been dry-washed, then hung out to dry! The stupidity of it all irritated him the most. All she had to do was request the conversation he had with his original questioner and she would have all the answers she wanted. Exasperated by Naomi, Isaac began his morning exercises. He had achieved a level of fitness he was comfortable with, if not proud of. Naomi hadn’t commented but he could feel her eyes on him in that creepy, possessive manner of hers. Isaac was getting slightly worried by her seeming obsession with him.The door slid open once again to reveal Naomi, with her customary gift of food. It seemed to Isaac she was turning up more or less during or at the end of his exercises every day. She seemed slightly disappointed to see Isaac had kept his shirt on but that didn’t stop her from smelling the air once again. Yeah, thought Isaac, whatever, Its better then walking corpses I guess.
>>29564552He was, still, slightly, creeped out.“We’re nearing the end of this facade Isaac, soon you’ll be free. Just one trial left to complete.”Isaac’s heart stopped, his mind went blank, he had spent long hours agonising over his incarceration only to be told his freedom was near. Laughing he, went to hug Naomi, thought better of it and covered it by accepting the food from her.“What’s the test?! Let’s do it right now!”“You’re going up into space to work on a science orbital as an engineer!” Smiling, Naomi dropped this bombshell.Isaac’s heart stopped for different reasons this time.“....What?”“It’s to prove to whoever examines the case next that you were thoroughly tested. This trial, once completed, shows that you are capable of doing your old job without breaking down.”“But I-““Isaac! It’s either space or stay in the hospital forever!” Naomi’s usual demeanour was gone, replaced with a severity that surprised Isaac.“Fine”**********
>>29563270>Short chapter, going to pick the kid up now. be back.It was strange to not be alone. It was noisy, and a tired ache in his bones told him that nothing in this world would be preferred above sleeping. Even the dark things in his mind were quieter, only silently blinking their nefarious intent through the shuddering glare of the lights. He had been alone so long, his own voice was dull-sounding. Like a flatline tone, but his words had to be guarded. If he wasn't careful, not sure, he could remember. And then everyone dies. The suit they lent him was too light. It felt thin, unprotected. The mag lock boots stuck hard; someone had never bothered to modify the control chip. He'd fix it later. The sharp whoosh of air being ripped from the room gave him a thrill, as hefted the toolbag in his hand. The crew has suggested using an Omni-tool; but with time pressed and little resourse, this was a faster option. The echo of his breath was nostalgic in his ears, as he quietly made his way across the whipping, whirling hull of the ship. Through hsi feet he could feel the ship shuddering with every blow; and above him the canopy of sheild was quickly faltering. No time like the present.
>>29564632>Pardon the shit spelling. His head pounded, trying to sift through his cluttered thoughts."I wasn't wrong. Nicole. I was right about them."His hands moved on their own, as he tore free a hunk of steel. the pain in his back surged again. "I always thought they were no good. I hope you knew that."Another piece was wrenched free, despite his knees protesting, shaking. There was a panel in the way. He leaned back gasping for breath as a cannon round ripped through the void near his head.He raised one leaden boot, unsteadily. The mag lock engaged, sending it crashing into the panel's face, denting it. He lifted his foot again, and tore at the remains with his gloved hand. the wires hand't just sorted, they had all but combusted; likely thanks to the higher oxygen content. One hand dug into the mess, bringing forth a small cascade of warning lights on the panel display. He gave it one last tug and ripped the whole connector module out. they'd have no chance of docking without it, but it was the cause of the short circuit. Somewhere he heard screams. His hand dove again into the mess of wires, shaken loose from their neat homes by every bump in the road. The wire was too short to reach. They were going to die.He was going to-no.He cursed under his breath and grabbed a hammer, and some tape from the toolkit. Gingerly he tested the hammer it, not aware of the sheild, now critical and flickering dangerously above him. He tore some lengths of tape from the roll, plastering it among the expoded metal of the hull. Then, with all the casual regard of a man tossing out a half-eaten snadwich, he flicked the hammer into the panel.A violent spray of sparks erupted as the metal welded itself to either side of the circuit, bridging the gap.The screams stopped. It was the comms. Someone left the comms open. What a waste of batteries."Holy shit, the crazy bastard did it."

>>29564586“What is it with you and falling asleep everywhere Isaac? Wake up, we’re here.” Naomi nudged him awake. “Here” turned out to be the ESO: Inara. The research vessel where Isaac would float about repairing things until he was judged sane by Naomi. Great.“What is it they do here exactly?” Asked Isaac.“Oh, the part of the orbital that you will be stationed in is telescience. The manipulation of space-time. Don’t look at me like that, you won’t be a test subject. Besides that Dr Cleark, the man in charge, hasn’t had a breakthrough in a long time.”“Whatever, the faster this is over with the better.” Isaac grumbled.“DOCKING BAY-1 CLAMP ATTACHED. SHIP DOCKING IN DOCKING BAY-1”Isaac had forgotten how much he hated the orbital’s ship board computers. Machines that pretend to be intelligent to confuse people. Sounds a lot like some scientists and religious types he knew.*************Sorry its a bit slow.
>>29565118Dr Cleark turned out to be a rather chubby, short man, with a cheerful demeanour. Exactly what I need, Isaac thought, Santa in space. Extending hands in greetings the two men shook and had a short conversation about what Isaac would be doing. Basic repairs it sounded like. He was restricted to this part of the orbital for the duration of his stay. Under no circumstances was he to mess with any part of the valuable machinery found in the labs, nor was he to enter, under any circumstances, the restricted areas of the orbital. “Just how big IS the orbital?” Isaac was intrigued at the idea of a restricted area on a tiny orbital.“Two kilometres.” Answered Dr. Cleark promptly.“Right........Give me a map, show me the areas I can and can’t enter so I don’t accidently end up there. I’ll be in my quarters until then.”Walking to his quarters, which one of the few scientists he had seen was kind enough to point out for him, he noticed that Naomi was quartered very nearby. Her door was open and light from a monitor was spilling out into the poorly lit hallway. Bored and restless, he moved over to the door when he heard Naomi talking.“I know, i’ll be careful. Hayde, I want you to stop worrying about me. Yes I know he is insane. Of course he is, human corpses devolving in a matter of moments then attacking others? Ludicrous. Hayde. Listen, when we return from this orbital i’ll be leaving the hospital for good. Im sorry Hayde, this is goodbye.” With a quick, loud beep, the connection was cancelled. Just as Isaac was about to confront her about her questioning his sanity, he heard another connection go through.
>>29565153“I have him. He is at the other end of the orbital. He doesn’t suspect anything. I know. Yes, taking this woman’s identity was easy, we should consider doing it more often. Our prophet will soon be with us all. I will keep Isaac safe until then. Destroy the unbelievers if they oppose you. Death is only the Beginning.”Another beep, another connection cut. Isaac heard her approaching and bolted to his cell.Sitting on his bed, Isaac was trying, somewhat unsuccessfully, to stave off a panic attack. Naomi, or whatever her name really is, was trying to keep him safe for some sinister reason, there was something on this orbital that wanted him. He gave himself three guesses as to what.

He looked over at Jack, a moment of confusion on his face, "Are you an alien, too?""Commander, letting someone of his condition do something that dangerous is bad enough; but he's still under the effects of the sedative. He really could have killed us all."Shepherd looked to Chakwas, nodding his head toward Isaac, "I took a gamble, sure. But not that much of one. He managed to seal a room in that ship shut from the inside without succumbing to asphyxiation.""And your point is?""Legion checked it out. There was no welder in the room. Guys! Hey!" Shepherd shouted getting between them and Isaac, "The guy's been isolated for who-knows how long. and yeah, he nearly killed us-""And the ship." EDI's voice chimed in."And the ship. But he saved our asses. How about we let him rest before we give him each a piece of our minds?"Jack looked away, stifling a chuckle."What?""No, nothing.""What?""Commander, you might want to...turn around."Behind him, Isaac was standing still, but weaving unsteadily, eyes closed, and now that she was aware of it, he was snoring.
>>29565433I'll start the new thread>>29565440You sure? If so, I can't start it. Gotta hit the hay in that time. Someone else gotta do it.
>>29565454I think the only thing here you're messing up is Isaac. He's nuts, but he's way better at hiding it and containing it. We've never seen him ramble.
>>29565455Whatever you want, man. I was just pointing out that it's not all that urgent. This is a slow board, after all.Plus I remember how pissy having a half-dozen Harem Knights threads in a row made people and I'd hate to see the same thing happen here.
>>29565512I think it's excusable given that he's still high on painkillers. Being doped up tends to make your mouth and mind wander in different directions.
>>29565535I guess.Give it about a half hour I suppose. We're on page 4 going on 5>>29565556I guess.Long as he gets it together later.
>>29565512I can dig it; trust me he cleans up well, as far as I'm developing him. He's only like this now because he was locked in a room with little food or water, alone, in complete darkness with only his thoughts. I'm running off of accounts of starvation/deprivation, which can inflame the outward signs psychoses in real life.Add that to the sedatives he's on, and yeah, Isaac is one loopy fucker. Hell he's not even sure what's going on right now.
>>29565622He also just yolo'd the repair by stomping on it, ripping out some wires, and throwing a hammer at it
>>29565189“Isaac? There you are, you’ve talked to the doctor have you? Good. Get to work on fixing whatever is wrong here. There is a RIG suit just down the hall, it’s where the old engineer used to work. There is a few tools you might need in there already. You also need to do a space walk and examine the outside of the orbital. These are the conditions to complete your examination and be announced sane. I bet you’re excited. Here are the maps you asked for” Naomi smiled once more, Isaac was doing his best to keep his growing revulsion at hidden. He nodded and moved off immediately. Suiting up in a RIG suit gave him an odd sense of comfort. The helmet covering his face gave him a feeling of safety. Checking the maps he noticed immediately that the areas he was restricted from where blacked out, the names of the areas were gone. With a growing sense of foreboding he notified Dr. Cleark that he was ready for work and was given some odd jobs to do. During this time he acquired a few bits and pieces here and there, he knew that he would be needing some kind of hidden weapon now. Whatever was going to happen was clearly happening soon and he was directly involved. The day went fast and the ship cycled it’s time to night but Isaac knew he wouldn’t be getting any sleep. He spent most the night-cycle modifying the RIG suit, reinforcing it and attaching a hidden plasma cutter under his right arm. To the untrained eye it would simply appear as part of the suit’s clutter but at the flick of his wrist and the press of a button it would arm and fire an extremely powerful plasma shot. He only had a single shot. Adding the capacity for more would have made it extremely bulky and obvious.
>>29565662That's a pretty accurate description of a lot of his technical work.
>>29565668Using the precious little “Night” time had left he snuck into the unmanned security section in his part of the orbital. There he found a crew manifest as well as several maps. What immediately stood out to him was the fact that though he had only seen several scientists as well as a single security guard, who was currently sleeping in his cell, the crew manifest said that there were over 70 people on board. Almost half of them were labelled as guards. Checking the maps he saw that a large portion of the orbital was missing from them. Cross-referencing the maps he was given earlier he noticed that it was also missing there, not just blacked out. The section missing was the other side of the orbital. As he was thinking about this the lights came on and the day cycle resumed. Quickly he placed everything back and got to his room as fast as he could.Naomi once again was at his door, bright and early to wake him up. So she was surprised by Isaac walking up to her in full RIG gear.“Didn’t you sleep at all? You know you should rest, we don’t want you getting hurt” The genuine care in her voice scared Isaac a little as he knew a semblance of the truth now. This woman’s obsession with him stemmed from something much darker than a simple love of broken minds.“You’ll be doing you space walk today.” She laid a hand on his chest, “be sure to stay safe out there, I don’t want to lose you”Thoroughly creeped out, Isaac nodded and made his way to the airlock. Reasoning that the only way to get off the orbital would be to do what she said and make damn sure he didn’t fall into any traps her friends might have placed out there to snare him.
>>29565706Walking on the side of the orbital was a relaxing experience. Once more he felt freedom as he used the RIG suit to float around. Oddly enough, there were no oddities on the outside, nothing that shouldn’t be there. No damage to lure him at all. He was just about to report as such when Naomi voice blasted into his ears.“Isaac! Bad news, the airlock circuitry shorted and the door open. You’ll have to go to the airlock at the end of the ship and enter through there.”“No, it should be fine, I can easily open it from outside, it’s a simple matter of rewiring th-““You can’t, i’ve already asked the other engineers, apparently the outside circuitry is also fried. There is no point in you delaying any further, just head on over to the other airlock. I’ll notify their security officer up there to let you in.”Not one to be foiled by fried circuitry, Isaac made his way back to the airlock he knew to be a safe entrance. To his surprise, Naomi was right, the airlock was completely inaccessible from the outside. The circuitry on the outside wasn’t just fried. It was completely irreparable. Like someone took a welder to it.He had to go to the other airlock to get inside, where god knew what was waiting for him.Shit.
Interesting thought:What would a prothean touching a marker trigger? Isaac and Nolan Stross both had direct physical contact with the marker, which imprinted a blueprint of making markers into their brains. Protheans can feel around a room and get all of its history, and the way the marker and the prothean beacons work are similar, in that they plant info directly into the mind. My theory is that a prothean could unlock all of the secrets of the marker, the story of the brethren moons, and even the location of all markers ever created (since they all are interconnected by the blueprints they've downloaded)
>>29565622Side corollary, conceptually, I'm making the marker something that's imprinted into his mind/psyche; and in-universe explaining it like some kind of biotics-infection/malady. He can't use biotics because of it, and the marker's information is constantly cross-wiring into his own thought process, giving him the occasional horrific hallucination we're all so used to.Are people ok with that rough/somewhat stretched explanation?>>29565662Hehe.
>>29565746This. Then the bits start moving.
>>29565746Whilst getting anything remotely resembling sanity blasted right out of their head, right?
>>29565756Biotics aren't a mental thing to begin with. They rely on the person having survived exposure to Ezeo contamination in the womb, which collects in their nervous system. With the proper implants to boost the strength and consistency of their bioelectrical fields, they can induce a controlled current in the contaminated nerves and trigger the creation of mass effect fields. Their mental state has nothing to do with it.
Alright. Page six.New thread: yea or nay.If yea, I'm on it.
>>29565895I don't think it's correct to say that your mental state doesn't have any effect on your biotics, but it's by no means the driving force or anything.
>>29565993new thread when we hit page 8 at least
>>29565993I wouldn't mind but I also wouldn't be opposed for some waiting as to avoid thread lethargy.
>>29566024>>29566028m'kayI might have to hit the hay in an hour tho because work, so if that happens we gotta have someone be backup.
>>29566057I can bump ever so often with deadspace pics, but i've got other shit to work on as well
>>29566121Ok, but can you make another thread come page 8 if I can't?

>>29565728“Im at the airlock now.” Isaac reported over the radio.“Good” Naomi replied “there will be a few security guards waiting for you on the other side. Don’t panic. They are there for your protection while you are in this restricted area. I’ll meet you there soon.”“How do you have access to the restricted ar-?”The connection closed with a click. Damn it. Damn it all to damnation and fuck. Armed guards, a mysterious restricted zone.“I fucking hate my life”Entering the airlock he found himself surrounded by half a dozen guards. Their light, red clothing taught over muscle-bound bones of steel. Fighting his way out suddenly became a last-ditch scenario. Motioning for him to follow, their leader moved on. With a rough shove in the back, Isaac was forced to follow. They led him past several areas full of scientific apparel and machinery. What struck Isaac immediately was the morgue-like quality some areas had. He saw several corpses throughout the trip. They arrived at a closed door at the end of a corridor marked “Area 1”. Thrust through the door forcefully Isaac stumbled onto a strange scene. A large amount of people surrounding Naomi and a man he had never met before, arguing loudly, it soon became clear what. The man was still speaking when Isaac entered the room
>>29566263“-e is a heretic! A non-believer and a destroyer of everything we hold dear! You’ve talked to him and you yourself have admitted to the fact that he hates us!”“He is just misguided you stupid fool!” Naomi shouted “He is blind to the truth and it is our sacred duty to show him the right path!”Quickly surveying the area Isaac found nothing he could use for safety if things turned sour. There was a large metal panel running along one wall which seemed to open out into a much bigger room as well as some controls nearby that undoubtedly controlled the panel.“-e is not the one!” The man screamed, face turning red in anger.“He is!” Naomi retorted “Isaac is our prophet, Altman, reborn!” With this, she turned and pointed directly at Isaac. All heads turned to look his way, some with awe and adoration, others with hate and disgust, a small minority looked on impassively. This all registered with Isaac before Naomi’s words registered in his mind.“.....What?!”
>>29566360FUCK
>>29565895Ah. ok. I'll change it a bit then. That actually fits a few other things, too; since he wasn't exposed to it as a kid/in the womb. Thanks for the info.this next bit may take a smidge, I'm taking care of an anklebiter, and I'm totally winging this all so I've gotta percolate good ideas up.

>>29566759Well, that's coming.Thread's at page 7 going on 8. Five more minutes before new thread.
>>29566360Naomi, not one to be flustered, immediately launched into a speech about how Isaac, someone who can resist the effects of the Marker, has the exact same traits as the Unitologists dead prophet, Michael Altman. The simple fact that Isaac was resistant to the marker was enough proof to Naomi that he was, indeed, the prophet reborn. This explained why she obsessed over him so much. It was at this moment that Isaac realized he had walked into a room full of Unitologist zealots. Many of who seemed to be in agreement with Naomi. Isaac counted himself lucky to have overheard Naomi’s conversation and to have seen the shadier parts of the orbital, he was sure that if he did not already have deep suspicions then this information would have left him speechless for a little while.Naomi was once again talking, trying to rile up the zealots and turn them to her way of thinking. “You have all been brought here today because you are ALL influential members of our religion, some of you have been led astray by this foolish man here!” she exclaimed pointing at the man who had been arguing with her earlier.
>>29566827This fool knows nothing of The Marker and cannot even imagine its splendour. Today, we are aboard this vessel to witness the unveiling of the future! Today! We witness our death and as you all know, DEATH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!” Ending her speech on this triumphantly loud note, she slammed her hand down on the panel controls, making the panel slowly slide open. To Isaacs mounting horror, he recognised what he was looking at. A miniature Marker, still in the process of forming. The Unitologists roared in unison, their approval making the making the very universe seem to shudder. Isaac knew he had to get out of that room, get away from the crazy and find a way to destroy that Marker. A Marker in the orbit of EARTH for gods sake! The psychotic bastards intended to spread the infection to the planet, the corpses in the orbital that he saw weren’t JUST corpses, they were Necromorphs that had been dissected and studied. They fully intended to commit genocide on their own fucking race! By the time Isaac had finished thinking this, he was out the door, a pistol stolen from an unsuspecting guard in his hand. He rushed into the maze that was the restricted zone intent on finding a way to stop them.
>>29566892HAHA TIME TO MAKE A PLASMA CUTTER FROM A SURGERY MACHINE!
>>29566892*******The Unitologists were just winding down from their victory shout when Naomi stopped and suddenly tensed. Everyone in the room immediately felt it and all eyes were on Naomi. Her eyes were on the spot where Isaac USED to be.“....Where is Isaac?” She asked calmly of the guards. Immediately they looked to the fellow that was supposed to keep a hold of him.“I...he...I don’t know ma’am”“You don’t know?” Naomi said sweetly, slowly walking towards the guard.“Y-yes ma’am. I t-think that he took the chance to escape during our celebration-““DO you think that do you?” Naomi’s voice dripped with sinister sweetness. “Is there anything ELSE you’d like to THINK about while you’re at it?” Slowly she put her into her pocket.“Ma’am....I...I think he stole my pisto-“ Naomi was on the man in a flash, grabbing hold of the back of his head she rammed a scalpel into his neck. The until-now silent audience audibly gasped as the man toppled backwards with Naomi clinging to him, stabbing again and again and again. Venting her grief and anger on the guards throat until all that was left was a shredded pound of meat. Rearing up, covered in blood, she screamed with a force of almost godlike fury.“FIND. HIM. NOW.”******
