Intro Crap: http://pastebin.com/mzS6YN7PYou are Risa Schrodinger, and you are now a tiny gem full of nothing. You look around the empty space which is your gem as your large ultra sexulous tails twitch behind you. You recline against them as you place your hands behind your head. "Well, I'm bored now. Monologue buggered off and Inventory isn't much for talking. Say, if this is my soul then." You focus your senses and the room fades into a nightclub light setting. Men and women in ultra-revealing outfits and with highly artistic tattoos and piercings dance in steel cages. Their bodies move in ecstasy to an unheard beat as what remains of their minds try to understand what has happened to them yet never can.You feel reality rip and tear as several other versions of you form in the dark space. People you could have been. One a young girl with a strangely frilly dress and too innocent eyes. Another draped in fire and hate, their eyes holding a manic intensity as they scan the interior of the room. Their outfit consists of tight leather straps barely concealing their decency with small rivulets of blood flowing from underneath making you think the underside of the straps have some sort of spike or barbs. Another stands with a gentle smile on her face, her outfit white and pure nearly translucent robes. Small strings of light gently flow from her back like wings and you get the feeling she is similar to Lucifer somehow. The last is a mass of flesh, sinew, and teeth. Its eyes constantly generating and changing as infinite faces scream as they boil over its surface.(1/5?)
You steeple your fingers and look at the gathered group. "Ladies, I am certain you are wondering why I gathered you here. The unfortunate truth is I am stuck in this rock for a while and I need to find some way for us to have fun or I will be more omnicidal than usual. Of course you are all also likely figments of my imagination, but I am not going to get too hung up on the details." You explain."So you made a sex dungeon with a bar and a dance floor and summoned countless images of yourself. What are you intending?" Lucirisa asks her voice the feeling you get when you know you are not alone in a house."I-It's not something bad is it?' Magical girl Schrodinger-chan asks. You get a mad smile and pull out your toys---You are Veloces Jäger, and you just saved your best friend from getting lightbrung by the first dawn. You are holding the Risa gem close, looking over the dark violet essence of your friend. You look to Sin-Fin, where she sits by the potted plant which seems to be a hollow of some sort, yes that is Carl, and you glare up at your skull in a way not unsimilar to Risa. What? "Will she be alright without you? I mean, she is alone in there right?" You ask.Yeah, no, probably fine. She has inventory and moral compass, though I believe the latter is still lost. It's a joke, get it?"I get it. But you don't know for certain?" You ask looking carefully down at the gem.Probably? She was fine without me before."I am not going anywhere. We are not doing anything until I am sure he is okay in there. Go check." You command. What? "You heard me. Either you go in there or we don't work together."I kindly do as you say and don't mention I could make you do what I want as I slip into the gem to see what Risa is up too.(2/5?)
---"The dark tunnel extends forward about a hundred feet. The wizard light above you casts a silverish glow on the skeletons in the north east corner, but otherwise the damp tunnel is empty. From the door towards the east the sound of running water can be heard. The way to the south is open and the sunlight extends in around half the distance of the tunnel. There are doors to the east, north, and west." Risa explains as the others sit around the table, drinks next to character sheets.A hissing gurgling noise comes from the mass of flesh and Risa nods. She Rolls some dice and then draws on the dry erase board. "You find no trap and open the east door. On a platform above a whirlpool of liquid with a pungent acidic stench is a naked woman. Chained and bleeding. Her skin is a perfect alabaster and full breasts-""I rape the shit out of her." Grim dark Risa says at once grabbing some dice."Are you sure you want to do that? You remember the king telling you of his daughter who was taken in-" Risa starts."Even better. Rape her to mind break then I get to be queen." Dark Risa says.Magical Girl Schrodinger Chan shakes her head. "No! She is being held captive! We must set her free and find out what the dark meanies have planned!""I'll get all that information from her. With my girl dick." Dark Risa crosses her arms smugly."Girl dick? That isn't a thing." Risa says as Magical Girl S. blushes heavily."The fuck it isn’t. Wizard bitty, cast a spell to make me have a nice thick fuck meat. I need to make a new cock sleeve." Dark Risa explains."No! I will do no such thing! You have clearly been corrupted by the baddies! I will beat the evil out of you with my magic!" The magical girl says."Fine, then I guess I will have to shove my tube steak in every one of your holes first." Dark Risa replies as she grabs some dice.(3/5?)
A furious duel of dice and skills takes place, with Magical Girl S's wizard falling first. She looks on the edge of tears as Dark Risa licks her lips. "I break the wizard’s hands before stripping her. I roughly grab her under developed body.""Stop!" Magical Girl S. begs."Oh, I haven't even started. This is what you get for not allowing my fox morph character at first. I roughly jam my-" Dark Risa continues."No no!" Magical girl S covers her ears."This isn't a good idea, you know what is going to happen next is-" Risa says but no one is listening.Dark Risa Grabs Magical Girl Schrodinger's wrists and pants as she holds her down. "No, you listen. I want you to pay attention to what you make me do. I bite down into her-“"I sneak attack Dark Risa." Lucirisa says rolling some dice. "Dead." She smiles."You- You saved me!" Magical Girl Schrodinger smiles hopefully as Dark Risa frowns and sits back down."Oh? I am afraid my dark plans only have room for one more and Shoggrisa already made a deal. I shall make your end swift though. I obliterate her whole being with the full force of my magical arsenal." Lucirisa explains and Magical Girl Schrodinger chan sinks into the leather bound woman serving as a chair."Again? Seriously? Ugh, right. Lucirisa and Shoggrisa manage to slay the party and take over the kingdom. It is soon ripped apart as reality cannot with stand their plotting advances. Again. Can we try to not have every adventure turn out this way?" Risa asks as the others get busy rolling new characters. She will probably be fine.---You are Jager again. Yeah, Risa is fine. She is playing some board game with herself. She seems to be having fun, so I left her alone. Can I do my thing? "Yes, okay. But you need to be less talky with me."(4/5)
Sure thing boss. After escaping the dark form of Lucifer, you took Risa and started hiding. Your current objectives are as follows. 1. Give Risa time to stop being a rock or to help her along in getting a body. 2. Help the scrubs, because seriously this could be bad. 3. Avoid Lucifer, he is probably bad news. 4. Power level Jager. 5. Other things I forgot. You feel an intensity as you look over to find Sin-Fin staring at your face from a few centimeters away. You prevent yourself from jumping out of your skin and you give her a weak smile. "Need something?""Let me hold Risa." She asks holding out her hand. You place the rock into her hand and she crouches down and stares intently at the small object, like it was a firefly she was deeply fascinated by. You use that momentary gap in stress to think up your next course of action.[]Go to the palace, you need soldiers for whatever you are planning on doing[]To the Human World, it is too dangerous to stay in hueco mundo and you might be able to find things there.[]Go see someone in particular[]Other, please specify(5/5)

So who exactly are we getting from the palace? We already have Sin Fin, Hollow Rider is a ponce, Dr. Gangsta is dead, Fuego has no legs, 42 is entertaining but fairly useless...Caede? That it? Everyone else in the palace will just get roflstomped. The scrubs would be better to go see. They're all stronger. Not to mention that Satan has a way easier time moving around within Hue Co than he does in the real world.
>>29497268...Unless we plan on killing and eating everyone in the palace for powerleveling. But I don't think Jager would, or even is able to, do that.

You need soldiers, you decide. While it is all well and good that you have declared war on the one who has declared war on god you can't do it alone. Your heaviest hitter is currently locked inside a rock, while your second heaviest hitter is gently cooing at said rick as if she thinks the whole idea is just swell and dandy that she stays that way. You look towards Los Noches and then extend your senses, hoping to detect something.Everything seems normal so you pick up the plant and then turn to Sin-Fin, who is gently rubbing her cheek against the rock. You knit your brows in annoyance as you realize that she is probably just as crazy as Risa, though in a totally different way. "Sin-Fin? We are going back to the palace now. We have to try and get the others out of the way of Lucifer's assault. Give me back the rock."Sin-Fin looks towards your outstretched hand, then to the side where her cheek has been rubbing the rick. She seems to think on it for a few moments before staring at you wide eyed and holding your gaze. You wait for a while, used to the general sense of misery and creep which accompanies her, until she finally carefully reaches out and places the stone in your hand. You put the rock in your pocket and turn towards Hueco Mundo. "Alright, let's go." You say before sonidoing off.You are like a turtle compared to Risa, your large form making powerful impacts in the desert landscape as opposed to Risa's gentle, almost illusionary ghost dance. Perhaps it is because she put her stats into speed, or maybe it is because you have two large mounds of flesh stuck to your chest. You look up as you cross the desert. "Seriously? I admit they are larger than Risa’s. Well, and they are larger than Sin-Fins, and I guess pretty much the rest of our social group but why are you so fascinated with them?" You ask. I am uncertain, though it explains the back pain we got going on. Curse you supernatural bosom.
You sigh heavily as you make your way to the palace. You stride through the open door and make your way to the throne room and immediately you can tell something is wrong. The scent of the others are still wafting about the place, but they are all almost muffled. You extend your spirit senses and get the feeling of something beautiful and perfect twisted by rot and corruption. It is like maggots within food or the sweet stench of rot. It is definitely not Lucifer as it is weaker, but that is like saying one star exploding is weaker than another star exploding. Still, your friends are in danger. You get a feel for where everything is and decide...[]Go to Caede, obviously. I wonder what would happen if we fed the angel that's obviously here to plantbro.I'm also surprised that Jager and SinFin aren't really that interested in the plant.Risa went and decided that pulling this thing out of the timestream was what she wanted. It's what she's been obsessed with for decades. And they just kinda look at the thing and say "Yep. It seems to be a hollow. Looks like a plant."

Your maternal instinct, that strange human part of yours that twitches and spasms open and close all the bloody time twitches now. "Caede. What if she-" Ha ha ha, no, I don't think so.You feel something inside of you get hit out of place, loosening the gum drops just a little. I am not certain what that metaphor was supposed to represent, but whatever. You blink as you rub at your nose, a crimson stain lining your fingers. "Dominic, he is injured. We need to make sure he is okay." You say and blink as you think you were going to say something else, but it is just beyond your reach.Told you. You run through the halls with Sin-Fin, the Risa Rock warm in your pocket likely due to the overwhelming energy surrounding the place. Or because she peed a little, it is hard to say. You find Dominic easily enough, great gouts of flame shooting from his room and into the corridors. A fly like being smashes into the wall, and you see a great pillar of flame rise from the ground and envelope him. Where the fly creature landed there is just black molten rock. Great laughter fills the castle."We meet once again for the final time old enemy! I, the GREAT ME! Shall send your minions back to the pit once more! Then I shall take your body parts and fashion a loin cloth from them! Your final breath shall be spent in thanks as you feel the perfect FLESH OF MY BODY against your remains! For I am Dominic Fuego! And from the ashes of the great bird I have learned more of flame than I had before! My raw GREATNESS burns brighter than ever!" He shouts and you look in.(1/2?)
Sitting on one of the countless stone thrones Dominic insists on having for chairs is a man. No, it simply looks like one you note as you see a pair of giant fly like wings jutting from his back. His skin is black, and his features impossibly perfect, just like almost every other angel you met. His eyes are compounded like a fly's and in his hands is a black wood staff. Maggots fall from the head of the staff which looks to be a rotting heart of some sort and where on the ground the maggots fall they eventually break into fly demons. Caede is nowhere to be seen. "An amusing abomination. I can see why my daughter favors you so. I will make you a deal, betray the ones you work with and I shall allow her to keep you as a pet." He offers, though you can't sense and sincerity in his voice."Then I shall make you another offer! Surrender now and I will grace you with the whole of my power as I turn you into art which shall forever last as a tribute to me DOMINIC FUEGO!" He flexes and you manage to get a look at his legs. Thick black lines cross over them, but they seem to be more or less attached. You extend your senses and note Caede is some distance away. You debate about what to do as the man tilts his head."What is this? A guest. Perhaps friends of yours. That masked man, the one who spoke in Spanish was most amusing. Tell me, are these two funny ones as well?" He asks. Crap.(2/3)
You step out of the shadows with Sin-Fin and you notice his posture changes slightly as the dour woman steps into view. He seems to debate commenting on it before smiling. "Well now, lovely women are always welcome company. Though I confess I do not have as much an inclination as my sister, I do enjoy the way the flesh of women feels. Hey, about that sister of his who he says is more into supple flesh. You think maybe we could meet up with her, because I got some- Right, sorry. You cross your arms and try to maintain a facade of coolness. "Isn't it pretty rude to come into someone else’s house and demand they give you their name? Lease you could do is introduce yourself first." You say.He seems to think on this for a moment before nodding. "That is certainly a fair observation, how rude of me. In your language I am known as Beelzebub. I am one of Lucifer's, well captains I suppose you could say. I am the Fallen Angel of gluttony and rot. The Arabs know me as بعل الذباب" Like hell I am getting a language pack for that. "And it translates to Lord of Flies. I commanded a seventh of the host that rebelled against the father and I have been tasked today with finding a violet gem, or rock of some sort. If you would be so kind as to hand it over I will be on my way." He explains. That isn't happening, you think. No one hurts you and yours. "I am Jager, the queen of Hueco Mundo. Well, king actually but there is this whole language issue we have going on and it's a whole deal. "You must understand our apprehension at giving into your demands. You came into our home and attacked us and-" You start."No, actually I punched him first." Dominic says."What?" You ask. Oh for the love of plant."Indeed! Like a blazing meteor of manly intent, I slammed my fist into his face the moment I saw him! For MEN SPEAK WITH ONLY THEIR FISTS!" He explains flexing once more.(1/2)

Hm? Asterisk? Oh, ever since I had to brain her sense of morality a bit when you didn't pick the child instantly she has been acting up. No need to panic, just her brain trying to assert its will over ours. We should be fine, I brought my mind break hammer. Soon she will be a starved beast lapping at our decisions, herself a lost shell as the drool slowly pools out of her and she tears open some cicadas, the chirping filling her ears. Yeah, that's some good hammer."This gem?" You ask pulling the stone out of your fatigue pants.Beelzebub lets out a strange buzzing sound as he holds out his hand, expecting it. You instead close your hand around the gem and Beelzebub tilts his head quizzically. "I would rather break it than give it to you." You say.Buzzing, like a hurricane of flies and wasps rises within the room. It surrounds you and you feel your eyes start vibrating and twitching, small strange shapes filling your vision almost like static. Sort of like you sneezed really hard but held it back so now your vision is all muddled, but way worse. Yeah, that is a good analogy. You fall to your knees and grip the gem a little tighter. You muster all your strength and say "But I don't want to do that either. So we are at an impasse."The buzzing slowly dies down as Beelzebub's energy returns to normal. He seems to think it over while giving you a chance to catch your breath. That is probably something you don't want to fight, you think. Not yet. How the hell is Risa going to survive this?(1/2)

"What do you propose then?" He asks, propping his chin in his hand. You think back to what he was saying. He wanted amusement, he let Fuego take Caede because it was amusing. You would have to bank on that. "A contest. One where we both have a fair shot at winning. I win, me and mine escape. You win you get the gem." You explain. "A game with a fair shot for both of us to win.""Not bad, but not good enough. If I win I get the gem and all of you and yours. The majority of hollow souls are not particularly flavorful, but some of them have a certain taste I just can't quite place. You get to be fly warriors, members of the rotting dead forever and ever. Otherwise we can just resume our contest." He says. You think it over and see you don't have a choice. "Fine, but I think of the game." Obviously, if the card is gone, we can't choose it

I hope Beelzbub is dumb
"Poker." You say, picking the first contest of mostly luck that comes to mind."Poker? A familiar game. I spent time in a western town some years back." He says. "But you have not played before have you? Hardly seems fair.""We can make it a group game. We in this room vs you. Loser is the last person to have nothing to bet." You offer and look around the room.Monologue technically counts as inside the room, right? You think. Well, strictly speaking I exist as a probability wavelength within the-"Well, if you insist." Beelzebub smiles and you all sit down around a giant stone table being supported by statues of Fuego.Sure, you have never played before in your life, but that's why you have an imaginary friend and-oh god you sound like Risa. Yeah, I am not helping."What?" You ask glancing up. No interest in the stakes. Being a voice in Lucifer's head would be pretty fun too. Wake me when you die. You strain to smile as you sit down with the others.(1/2)
The rounds press on and you find yourself backed into a corner. The potted plant is, well, a potted plant and loses quickly. Sin-Fin had to be corrected in the first few rounds from asking what her cards mean, but she eventually stabilized her small stack of chips. Fuego kept making big risk big reward plays and ended up nearly busted by the end while you, after coaxing the brilliant voice in your head to tell you the rules of the game, managed to keep your stack about where it started with. However Beelzebub is quickly amassing a strong tower of chips and he may soon claim your chips by using cheap tactics. You look around the table and realize there is nothing you can do by playing it safe. Time for a desperation tactic, but what?[]Make a deal with the monologue. She seems like she at least knows what to do here.[]Risk cheating.[]Have Sin-Fin use her power. I wanted to lower the risk of death since Jager is weaker, but we can play with more risk too. Either way is okay. Some manner of clarity towards what you want would be helpful.
Rolled 5>>29501447It is a suitably dramatic thing. Fairly badass. And the thing least likely to fuck us over later

Regardless of what contest we chose, Beelzebub would school us because he's Beelzebub, and Monologue would bail us out in a creepy power fantasy. You chose to give Monologue more power because that's the only choice there was.

>>29501603There were literally no booby trapped choices other than attack. As long as you generally didn't act totally out there you would have been fine. I wanted us to power level jager a bit while I write up Risa's new stats as well as set up the god system. I also wanted show jager's 'paths' start to take hold. I do not really have a character I consider a self insert.I can stop the quest and resume when I have the stats for the other stuff written up if that is preferable.
>>29501603I'm fine with us being the plot rock, anyone who thought finally killing that Great Old One wouldn't completely change the game wasn't thinking things through. He has earned those badass point.I'm objecting to it seeming like AE would prefer an audience to players.

You tap your cards and glare at Beelzebub before sighing. You no longer care if you sound like a crazy person. "Monologue. Wake up." You say. What? Oh, did you die yet? "What do you want?" Pardon?"Excuse me?” Beelzebub asks, evidently as unaware of monologue as Lucifer. Get got scrub."What do I have to do to make this problem go away?" You ask."Give me the stone and-" Beelzebub starts but you hold up a finger and narrow your gaze at him before looking back up.Oh, you are talking to me out loud like a crazy person? Well, gee, I don't know Jager. I never even thought about what you could possibly do for me when I- "Cut the bullshit you freak. What do you want?" I want this to become strip poker. I am morbidly curious about fallen angel boy parts. You look towards Beelzebub and smile. "How about we add to the stakes? Just money and souls are boring.""That was never agreed upon." He protests."It was never explicitly disallowed either." You point out and he gives a helpless shrug."Alright, just be aware I still have the right of Veto." He explains."Strip poker. At least that way it will be a bit more interesting. You angels learn lust when you fall right? You can't say you aren’t the least bit interested." You explain. He mulls the idea over for a moment before smiling. "No objections.""Alright, time for a redo." You say smiling while glancing up. Oh, I am certainly sure it is.A few rounds later both Sin-Fin and Fuego sit naked in their chairs, neither bothering to cover themselves, indeed Fuego seems proud of his nudity. You yourself are sitting in just your knickers while Beelzebub sits with a stack of clothes and chips."Monologue, I thought you had this." You grumble as you look over your hand. Nothing.Yeah, need more agency if you want to win. "What does that mean?" You demand. Means I need more of your body. "But that's-"(1/4?)
>>29501848You're right, you didn't.The reason we didn't flee was because he was going to kill Fuego and take Caede back to hell with him, which we predictably weren't cool with.
So, we've established two guys are in a huff, while the rest of us are okay with the choice we voted upon.YAY reasonable players talking things out with a cool head.Though this anon needs to grab a shower and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep now. Azure, I'm done trying to argue with the burgerlord. Just know that if you ask if we want you to continue doing things, add +1 to the votes to continue things.
"Ready to reveal?" Beelzebub asks."Not like you can do anything now anyway." You sigh. Course I can still win. Getting everyone naked was just a way to keep me awake. "So if I give you more control-" I will win. I will even give most of you back, promise."Most?" You ask, looking down at your cards."Or, you can watch everyone you ever love suffer. Again." A dark from smiles from beside you, the voice a shifting infinity you cannot quite place. "Oh yes. You have some deliciously horrible memories in here. All locked away, just waiting for the right sort of person to come along and thumb through the archives. Oh yes, Risa's mind was already so twisted it wasn't possible to do anything, but you? You were quite the good person. I love good people, so much fun to play with.""Your cards?" Beelzebub asks revealing trip queens. "Well?""Well?" I ask."Yes." You say, feeling something leap into your mind. Your eyes shift for a moment and everything just feels more. It just feels! Colors, textures, lights, life! It all feels so very, very alive. You lean back and give an appreciative whistle at Fuego as you grab the plant and put it on your head, perfectly balanced. "Queens are nice, beats most. Fancy I got" You throw your cards down and-Reality quivers as bears learn to fear the dark once more. The whole of time and space reignites as a power long since lost and forever restored comes to life like the big bang and the cold death all at once."Royal flush." You smile, casualty rewriting itself or perhaps being as it always was as time travel is a bit off.Beelzebub blinks as you wrap your hands around the pile and draw it close. "That was- No, it always was. Of course, a very fortunate draw." He offers.(2/4)
>>29501897It's just a game.

Sin-Fin looks confused at you as you lift the plant, slip her underwear over your head, replace the plant, then stick out your tongue with your mouth open, one eye going wider than the other. "You know us Germans. As lucky as we are trustworthy. Deal your cards." You demand, a small laugh underscoring your voice. The next few rounds are a total domination, you quickly reclaiming both the clothes and the chips, but placing them behind you as if you are afraid they will be stolen. The final hand has him removing his robe and putting it on the table, joining the chips and clothes you already put in."Last hand. I am all bet out I fear." You reveal.Reality screams in ecstasy as you force the cosmos to do as you demand. No trivial feat, no great one either. Both and neither. Hell and heaven, all of time rewriting as you please."Four aces versus two tens" You say raking in the pile of stuff."Well, certainly well played." He offers and stands."Wait." You say and he pauses looking at you. "Sit down. Why don't we play for more?""What more have I to offer? You have forced me to return home with but my shame." He explains. You take off your remaining clothes and put them in the pile with the chips, then put it all on the table. "Here, whole pot. In exchange for you." You ask with a wide smile, too wide smile."Me? My services? That takes a hefty price even for the privilege for seeing one as lovely as you I-" He starts and you slam your leg into the stone table. You infuse it with energy and it slams into the fallen angel's legs in the perfect spot. Forcing a muffled cry of pain as he bends slightly. He looks up enraged but you are already on the table, crouching down so you are at eye level. "Who said I wanted the service of a whipped dog like you? Are you having fun yet? Am I amusing? You wanted something amusing right? This is fun, isn't it?" You ask your voice maddeningly pitched.Your muscles become more taunt as you hunch forward slightly more, your body taking an angle like a maddened gargoyle. Beelzebub stares into your eyes and he seems truly confused. "What are you?" He asks, perhaps to himself. You let out a husky roar of a laugh, exposing your neck in front of him giving you a twisted shiver of pleasure. "I'm amusing! Come on, give me you. Your power, your soul, your essence. One of the seven, even Risa can't compete with that. Oh, the look on her face when she realizes what we are." It fucking doesn't.And while you can technically read, your ability to actually comprehend text leaves a lot to be desired. Also now we just further forfeited our ability to resist Monologue, and we're probably stuck on an evil path right now.
Rolled 10>>29502350Evil paths are the most fun! They're the ones with rape, cookies and an eventual death at the hands of a hero who has to live with the fact that his actions got everyone he's ever loved killed
>>29502377So you're saying Jager should eat the plant and Risa? Because that sounds like the evil path.
>>29502042You hurt the Short Fin. End of the line, buddy.
>>29502443If we eat Risa then maybe we can become the composite Risa as seen in MGNQ, and what AE is pushing this quest towards.
Rolled 4>>29502443Nah. Risa would taste funny. Also its more evil letting her live
Once we're not under threat of Beelzebub, then we can apologize to Sin Fin. I'd rather have the challenging actions be in saying sorry instead of not dying to the Lord of Flies.
>>29502463Too late.Apparently people care more about power than friends, even if that goes against everything Jager has been shown to stand for.If it's any consolation, turning towards Sin-Fin would have been a trap option, probably.Though of course, this one is as well.
>>29502463Sorry, anon, but it's too late. Jager is going to be completely broken now.
>>29502508Monologue is in the pilot seat now
Rolled 20>>29502463We'll just have to live with SinFin liking Risa more than Jaeger
>>29502523Maybe AE has the players he deserves.
>>29502523>>29502523AND IT'S GOING TO BE SAD AS FUCK
>>29502544Are you implying that's the only change there will be?She's probably going to kill us now, because this is bullshit.
>>29502616Why the fuck did you vote for it then.Jager was one of my favorite characters in the quest and now she's ruined. What the fuck is wrong with you AE? Is this whole quest a way for you to fuck with people?
Rolled 7>>29502622You do realize monologue is speaking out loud, right? As in it outright said it was speaking out loud?
>>29502635good thing I didn't vote or I'd would've been feeling guilty AS FUCKmuch like you guys
You sit down across the table from Beelzebub. As Sin-Fin shivers and then runs out of the room, her face awash with shame. He thinks it over and shrugs. "Fine. I can give you some of my power if you win. Though I think you won't find it quite appealing to one so-" He starts but you throw out the cards. He looks over his hand as you feel part of you start to scream in pain. The empathy portion, the human portion which made you so much closer to human than hollow. You feel a strange need overtake you which you happily embrace. As one door opens another door closes.PATH OF HUMANITY/EMPATHY LOCKED.PATH OF DESTRUCTION SELECTEDYou let the strange feeling overtake you as you feel yourself becoming more and more like a hollow. You show the cards, a royal flush, as he reveals his own. Dead man's hand. You chuckle as you hold out your hand. Instead of giving you an actual object he points his staff at you and a sickly light washes over you, sending a strange sort of energy into your body, or perhaps plunging your body into a deep well would be the best way to describe it? Either way, your body spasms as the Fly King sits back on his throne, insects buzzing about him. He glares at you evenly. "Now get out."You stand up proudly, satisfied you have ravaged all you can from this place and walk out, Fuego stroking his chin as he watches you. You glance back at him and shake your head. No longer understanding whatever it was you were figuring out about him, but it doesn't matter. You are stronger now, so much stronger. Your path is open and soon all the world will be broken beneath you.(1/2)
Rolled 16>>29502635Umm... Okay, I kinda regret this now because I realized that'd lead to no more jaegerhugs.
>>29502635No. Nonononononono. Can we please get a take back? That was the only thing about Jager that was unique. You tricked them again into thinking you'd kill them if they apologized to Sin-Fin.Please don't do this, Jager was the best character in the quest.
>>29502653I didn't voteI don't vote on shit I think is importantLast time I did I got plant bro's blood on my hands
A strange tickling sensation in the back of your head seems to fight back, but you swiftly crush it, silencing it forever. You have no time to play human anymore. You lead the hollows out of Hueco Mundo and into the human world, letting them set up shop in Risa's shrine, you are certain she won't mind. You place her gem in your pocket again and gently thumb the object, trying to remember why you cared so much? I mean, sure she is a useful friend, but it wasn't very hollowish. You shrug your shoulders as the thought continues down its meandering path and then stretch in the dawn light. You suppose it is about time you take a more active role in affairs. Why don't we just end it here. Seems this thread went less well then I would have liked. I am still around for questions and the the like
>>29502683Don't do this. Please please please please don't do this.Don't ruin the best character. They didn't get what they were voting for.Delete the post again. Please rewrite it. Why are you being so cruel?

>>29502726>>29502726This for the love of god
>>29502718Delete those posts.I am literally crying right now.No one wanted this to happen, I promise you that they didn't want to hurt Sin-Fin's feelings, they just didn't want you to kill them.
Rolled 9>>29502718Can... Can you please retcon that last bit? I was too busy antagonizing that one guy to get him to stop complaining to vote and I really really don't want Jaeger to lose her single most defining characteristic over a card game :(
>>29502760>>29502752These as well
>>29502718This isn't what we wanted. This isn't what we thought we were voting for.Don't do this. Please don't do this.I am literally crying right now.You have reduced a grown man to tears.
>>29502718So...does this feeling change when Monologue is gone? Or is this too late now? Is Jager going full hollow on us for good?
>>29502787Too bad. If you couldn't figure out what was happening, that's your fault.Plenty of people saw what was happening and tried to stop it, but you didn't listen.
>>29502718Ok I can heartily say that everyone is mad about turning jager into a heartless bitch and that it would be a grand idea to just dust that under the rug, and forget it ever happened
I literally left every choice to the players. I gave you a plan double checker in your head. I told you apart from attacking Beelzebub you were not going to die. I was told making lowering the risk level so it was more of a narrative was for the best rather than leave it all to just random events. You wanted jager to start getting more powerful. I gave you a chance to open her second release path and level more.I have no idea what you want now.>>29502729My spell check derped. It was bad.
>>29502809>I kinda feel bad for samefagging all of the keep playing votes.Ugh.
>>29502809You did? Then can you please undo the vote AE?Because this quest isn't worth playing without Jager, and you just made Jager not Jager anymore.Either that or just drop the quest.
>>29502803Monologue is no longer in your head. He was there to push you into one of your paths. I will remove monologue entirely from the quest in the future. It clearly was not working well.
>>29502809>>29502809YOU PIECE OF SHITGO EAT A ROTTEN DONKEY DICK YOU WHOREBORN SHIT SPAWN OF SATAN'S ASSHOLE
Rolled 1>>29502835Well, uhh... It was kinda phrased as if the other option would you know, end with a bad end. Like it outright said it was the only way to save us. But I mostly only want Jaegar to not lose her most defining characteristic. And also don't want to lose any future jaegarhugs.
>>29502835We don't want Jager to be ruined. And it seemed fairly clear that Monologue WAS attacking Beelzebub, thus people thought we'd be destroyed by Beelzebub's reprisal if we let up on our assault.
>>29502835People are just being bitches right now. They do not like consequences, and they are now learning that power comes with consequence.
>>29502835Look, They didn't know it wouldwell do thisif you put in side bars what it would've cause they wouldn't be madLike this(humanity)(destruction)
>>29502879No, people don't like the consequences being unclear. They were stupid and thought that if they apologized, they'd leave themselves open for Beelzebub's counterattack.
>>29502846...why?
>>29502879Also, going to miss old Jager, but that is what happens when you choose power over what makes a character who they are. You break the character.
I liked he as more human it gave Jaeger character and helped balance out Risa's crazy
Rolled 11>>29502908Nooo! Its what happens when a vote is kinda unclear on the option that says its the only way not being the only way
>>29502835We wanted to pick Humanity.Because that's what Jager stood for for the entire quest. The only reason we didn't was because people thought that unless we beat him now, Beelzebub was about to kill us, and we could apologize to Sin-Fin later. The tone of >>29502003>>29502042Made it seem as if we were making Beelzebub hostile, and that our power grab would have dire consequences if we didn't follow through.
>>29502926same
>>29502871Yes. The universe is conspiring to dick over Jager.>>29502887Yes, if I told them the exact thing which would happen in the future then maybe they would have chosen to be a better person to their friend. Instead they didn't want to risk being a good person because they saw a chance for more power. Being a good person requires risks even when not a soul eating monster, and the players did not want to take the risk to be that sort of person. Thus they are now not that sort of person.>>29502926>>29502932Again, I said as long as you don't attack him you are fine
>>29502835It looked like that was the choice we had to choose to save us and our friends we didn't choose it because we like destruction more than Jagers usual empathy thing.
>>29502908That's not what people thought they were choosing. They were also distracted by the argument going on in the thread. They thought that apologizing to Sin-Fin was a trap.
Well, fuck. I usually stay silent and just read quests from a backseat. But now I feel bad for not voting.
I fucking told you manI told youI told you all paths looked the sameAnd why are you even letting us redefine one of the most important characters in the entire quest? The move wasn't even power hungry, it was playing it safe, because Beel has the power to kill all of us. Get safe, sort things out later is the safe move, a human move.
Rolled 1>>29502969You said that unless we outright attack him or act too out there.I consider threatening to steal everything the guy is, warping reality for a card game and outright acting completely different from before to be out there.
>>29502969Don't be a dick about this. That was not the thinking behind the decision.I got the impression that Monologue WAS attacking Beelzebub in some kind of esoteric way, and so did everyone else in the thread. That's why they chose the way they did.Just undo it and don't ruin the best character in the quest because you weren't clear enough.I'm literally begging you here, don't you give a shit about what the players want at all? Or is it all about making us feel small?
>>29502969May I at least curse getting distracted by other windows and voting after it was too late?
>>29503028Fuck man, Beelzebub is one of the most powerful daemons out there. Just beating him in the contest is grounds for expecting him to kill us
>>29502969>>29502969there is a guy who admitted to same fagging the destruction vote but all his posts keep disappearing
>>29502718sigh.... damn it.why did you guys vote for time and space mind fuckerywhy don't anybody think of their actions....>>29502809>I kinda feel bad for samefagging all of the keep playing votes.goddamnit anontrust that the votes are legit are what QMs use to write the story. pulling this kinda shit can (and this case has) cause problems>>29502835we're goddamn idiots and or complainers. I don't we'll ever learn to look before we leap.the majority can't grasp anything more subtle than sledge hammer to the face.I'm willing to take some kind of penalty to redo for empathy/path of humanity. I accept your decision regardless.
>>29502969>and the players did not want to take the riskBecause we've been killed multiple times for taking risks with what looked like a lower chance for things to go terribly wrong.
>>29503050You had won the game. You could have left and walked away. You have his promise which, if Lucifer is any judge to go by, you were free to go with you and yours. You were just defining who you were.

>>29502969We both made mistakes in the thread. But it's not too late for you to undo it.Don't just sit there and act like we were well-informed and deliberately made the choice we did.We won't think you're weak for deleting the last couple posts and writing out us choosing the path of humanity/empathy.We'll think that, well, you possess humanity and empathy, and actually care about the people who follow your quest.
Rolled 16>>29503083We had won? I thought we changed the bet and kept playing, like with adding strip poker
>>29503083We won? Honestly the way it read, going all the way was the only way to win at that point
>>29503083That was really unclear. It seemed like Monologue had just used some kind of power-draining attack on Beelzebub. It doesn't fucking matter how many times you say what you tried to convey, it doesn't change the fact that you failed to do so.So just let us pick the choice we would have picked if we knew what we were picking, and don't ruin the entire quest to teach us a lesson.
>>29502809>>29502926>>29503011Anon why
...Oh fuck.We killed the Wolf Queen.
after 51 threads, I think its safe to say the playerbase is mostly comprised of fucking idiots and Azure holds us in a much higher regard than he should.
>>29503149>Think we need to play it safe to keep Jager alive>Kill off what makes Jager be Jager and have her replaced with something else by playing it safeGod damn this is ironic.

Rolled 12>>29503154I'm actually barely legally retarded :)
>>29503083Please don't be a dick about this. We're sorry we didn't read closer, or ask for clarification.Just don't ruin Jager, I'd rather her not unlock any power from this rather than lose what makes her her.
>>29503084Any poll I give now would be tainted by the known results.I am not going to say what the paths are, just by being who you want that character to be can you change who they are. Allowing yourself to fall into a lust to destroy everything around you, friends, relationships, what ever is not empathic or human. It is just power hungry destruction.
>>29503101>>29503137>>29503138No, it was pretty clear that we had already won, and we had asked Beelzebub if he wanted one more round for everything. And our choice was set before he accepted. It was clear enough, and I think it's reasonable for Azure to expect a certain level of English comprehension from the players.
So, add this to our list of major fuckups?
>>29503193IT READ AS THE SAFE OPTION SO THAT OUR FRIENDS WOULDNT GET KILLEDJESUS CHRIST MAN, FUCK YOU
>>29503083Please just delete those posts, and post the one you wrote for us apologizing to Sin-Fin.Hell, forget what everyone is saying about you, it's all on us for being morons who don't read closely.Just have some pity on us.

>>29503193>>29503193How about this AzureWe consider this thread an omake and in the next thread you put up different options in the same scenariobasicallyConsider everything in this thread null and voidAnd give us a second chance while removing any chance for us to meta game
>>29503193It wasn't a power hungry decision. We didn't see it as a power-hungry decision. The only thing we were hungry for was survival. Why are you being such an asshole about this? We're not making excuses, we genuinely thought that Monologue had attacked Beelzebub and we were in a life or death situation.
>>29503218ab so fucking lutelymaybe god Risa can wiggle her nose and fix it but until then well shit.maybe 3rd time's the charm on LEARNING TO LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. QUIT BLAMING YOUR OWN GODDAMN STUPIDITY AND LACK ON HINDSIGHT ON AZURE.
>>29503229No, because Beelzebub acknowledged that Jager had won.>"Well, certainly well played." He offers and standsAnd then Jager/Monologue offered to play another round for more.So it was a new bonus round that we could have turned down and that Beelzebub acknowledged that he would go home if we had just left.
>>29503193Are you autistic or something?Just undo it, or end the fucking quest right now if you are inexplicably going to develop a lot of unwarranted integrity.Because guess what? By making Jager evil, you DID end the quest.
>>29503285hooo boy am I going to witness the death of two hollow quests?do I get a shirt for this or something
>>29503281It seemed really hostile to me.I voted for Sin-Fin and I thought it was the option that was gonna get us killed.I just was in a bad enough mood that I was fine with that happening. The majority of the thread felt the same way.
>>29503193This isn't how the players saw things.Didn't you say during the Fenrir fight that your focus was on making an enjoyable experience for the players?I don't care if you have to take plantbro back, just please don't do this. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be.
>>29503224...Honestly, at this point I wonder if we deserve any pity.Look, guys. We fucked up, and we fucked up bad. Jager was a favorite of mine, and through silence she is now basically dead. But the worst part is we keep doing this sort of shit. We see something as the only chance, people dick about with the idea of power over all, we decide to be retards. The rap battle was one instance, Ryouichi was another, and this is a third. And every thread, we have the same old arguments driving for power over all, or the same insane shit that would get us killed, and we keep going until something breaks. Do we deserve more chances?
Azure, if you wanted to convey that we won, you should have put in a small and pointless characterization choice with Sin-Fin/Fuego to confirm that we won, ie how we felt about what we just did.AND THEN given us the choice to pull Beel back to the table for moreBy making the choice back to back you made it feel that nothing had concluded with it yet, that we were still in the same struggle, that's why we jumped on the 'safe' option
>>29503077The person who claims same faggotry keeps getting deleted. We either have a janitor or a troll, I am not certain which but will err on the side of janitor.>>29503234I am considering it, but my main concern is that once players get the shiny thing they want they will just murder hobo anything that even looks at them funny while saying they are human or empathic. This way at least you don't need an excuse to be a power hungry breaker of things.>>29503285That is an option, but the unwarranted integrity confuses me. Elaborate?Ignoring the kid at the start of the thread was the first issue of this, but it wasn't fatal or anything.>>29503308It was literally the opposite of hostile. You were, again, not going to die from anything other than the single worst decision possible.
>>29503358Then just end the quest if that's how you feel.We thought it was "let ourselves get killed by Beelzebub to make ourselves feel better" or "don't get killed by Beelzebub".And this time insane shit that would get us killed was the correct option apparently.
>>29503358We are in a pissing match of GODS, why do you think we are scraping together any power we can?
>>29503370>The person who claims same faggotry keeps getting deleted. We either have a janitor or a troll, I am not certain which but will err on the side of janitor.I was deleting them myself because I know people will just spam report them. But you know what, I'll leave this one up and take my ban if that's what it takes for you to believe me.
>>29503358Three strikesHow about after this oneNo matter what happens we stick to itif we don't and undo for a forth timeSet us back to beginning
>>29503360That wouldn't make sense seeing as part of the deal made with Monologue was to give him control to win the poker game. He decided to try to extend the game and we had a choice to let him or stop, in the choice to apologize to Sin-Fin or to keep playing. It was clear, and it's unfortunate if you couldn't comprehend it.
>>29503395Ah, no I just was confused as to which it could be. You are fine, I believe you. But the damage is already done.
>>29503370That's why we didn't want to play Jager. You're the one who is making us do that.Like what I wanted was for it to be handled like Hero Quest, where we're Risa talking to Jager telepathically, and Jager is free to ignore us if she wants. Is this just a big fuck you towards us?And I don't care how many times you say it was the opposite of hostile, that's not how the players saw it at all.
Rolled 18>>29503370Can... Can we sacrifice that fatebreaker we got for saving christmas to undo monologue being a cunt at beelzebub and extending the game?
>>29503388Not Azure. For starters, I never have had a drink in my life and choose to be that way. I just tend to miss these quests, read up on them in the archives, and note that people really like smashing things with no consequences.
>>29503395I'd say you got what you deserved, and took everyone else down with you.
>>29503370Azure, I know I can't make you do it, but it would honestly be the best way out of this fucking shit pile we've dug ourselves today
>>29503426I was under the impression playing as Jager for a little bit was to be more positively received.
>>29503424It really isn't.We don't want to turn Jager into a murderhobo. Seeing what Monologue did to Jager when we voted to see Fuego instead of Caede actually made me feel sick.Just don't do this in some futile attempt to punish us, I'm truly begging you here.Don't you care at all?

>>29503456Not like this. Not with Monologue. And not dramatically changing her character. We've spent fifty threads being Risa Schrodinger, and you expect us to just flawlessly handle being someone completely different? We were not trying to disrespect you with our choices.
Rolled 17>>29503456We obviously can't have anything nice. After all, we've gotten everything nice either mindraped, written out of reality or destroyed since the quest started. But... I really really hate how this ended. Like this is restart a videogame from the beginning to avoid kinda bad stuff happening. Can you please make Jaeger be the only nice thing guaranteed to not be fucked up horrifically by our blundering? Please
>>29503426Yeah, playing this like it's done in Hero Quest would have been optimal. It's how I was hoping it'd go.
>>29503456Except you wrote her as Risa, except Monologue was even more pushy. You forced us into situations that seemed inescapable, like we had to deal with Beelzebub or lose Fuego and Caede.
>>29503456I thought it would fun too...but the playerbase found a way for the 3rd great fuck upwell, at least its never a dull moment in Hollow Quest.I'm sorry most the people here are retards that lack foresight and or reading comprehension>>29503457your own stupidity caused this
>>29503457You wanted to not be like Jager, so you were not like Jager. >>29503519I picked apologizing to Sin-FinBut I thought it was the trap option that would get us killed.I still did it, but that's just because I was feeling really spiteful towards AE. Still am.

Rap Battle, Ryoko, Ryouichi, and breaking from tradition of starting with an R, Jager.Maybe five if you include letting Fuego fight an angel....God damn we suck at this. Before someone says Azure, no, dammit. >>29503665But we thought we were attacking.Kicking the table in half and going into some kind of crazy rant, and the text that implied we were draining MORE power from him, made it seem as if attacking had already begun.Maybe it's our fault for not reading it right, but the fact remains that that's what we read.So please acknowledge that.We didn't think there was a choice at all.
>>29503665>Monologue is 99% guaranteed to be gone. I think that might help one thing at least.I like how Monologue works with Risa. And Monologue could have worked with Jager if we were playing as Monologue instead of playing as Jager. But playing as Jager with Monologue there was just a recipe for disaster. I was suggesting that we play the voice in her head for this back when Risa got plot rock-ified.
>>29503665>I will probably burn the trip.hack//AIDA quest is done?Well, it was a neat run. Best of wishes on the other things.>Monologue is 99% guaranteed to be gone.Pity.
>>29503716>>29503716Then do itPretend none of this happened.or run hollow quest 3: with a hollow
>>29503716If you figured that, why didn't you just skip over it.I mean playing as another character is supposed to be a fun little vacation, not a high-stakes nightmare where one wrong move can ruin a character forever. And you didn't convey that we had any agency at all. If anything, with Monologue you made it seem like we had even less agency than we did as Risa.
the Jager we know is dead. and you killed her anon.Jager sacrificed her humanity/empathy for power because you chose it for her. You were not tricked. you were not cheated.its because the playerbase didn't think things through. Paranoia is viewed in a negative light for a reason. Your own fear and mistrust got us this.
>>29503720>and the text that implied we were draining MORE power from him, made it seem as if attacking had already begun.Except, there was no text. Are you referring to this? >all of your joints popping as if your hands were growing. That's just a description of the sound of joints popping.I think you need to take some reading comprehension tests.Try this one:http://www.majortests.com/sat/reading-comprehension-test01See how you score.
>>29503716This isn't about giving us a handout.Or inviting us to fuck up more. This is about you not being spiteful enough to burn your own quest down because you think we asked for it.Just please undo it, and not let us directly control Jager. Why would you think anyone wanted to twist Jager's character? That's not why people like her at all.
>>29503796It's also on AE for not being clear, or thinking we were asking for this.We wouldn't have wanted to play as Jager if we thought one fucking thread could ruin her forever.
>these faggots didn't vote for vote for apologizing to sin fini fucking hate all of you and we deserve this.LET IT ALL BURN BECAUSE YOU SHITS KEEP FUCKING IT UP.
>>29503818I like seeing characters broken down into tings that barely resemble their old selves as the mewl and whine at those who did this to themBut I didn't want this to happen to jager
>>29503843I did fucking vote to apologize to Sin-Fin.I was >>29502199I said 'fuck you' because I thought it was the trap option. But was mad enough about AE railroading that I sprung it anyway.
>>29503843You know the more I think about itthe More I realize I would honestly like hollow quest 3: with a hollowdespite using it as more of a joke when I put it on the list of paths
>>29503773Jager's two major points are KIDS and EMPATHY. Players could literally do anything they wanted. They could be totally out of character. I gave them an out for that if they wanted to. I gave them a way their out of character behavior could be in character for them.We may be using two different definitions of agency, but I did not force you to play her any way.I even told you all that unless you chose to attack him you would not die. You did not say [x]attack. You had won and her was leaving. He had right of veto and you could have retracted it. I gave players that choice.Just crying player agency at me as lost all meaning at this point, I am sorry.
>>29503875>But was mad enough about AE railroading that I sprung it anyway.Well, you must be happy with the result then. This is what you wanted, right? Springing the trap option?
>>29503875so did i, but these other retards cannot into reading comprehension and everything got everything fucked for doing it.i think everything is alright and we got dicked over by the sack of retards that tend to flood in at the end of the day for the quest.
>>29503716That's not what anyone wants in a character-perspective switch.Like can you just retcon this entire thread, like don't have us encounter Beelzebub right now, because no matter what you say, if we didn't want to lose Fuego and Caede forver, we had to enter Beelzebub's magical realm.
>>29503899Azure, I don't care what you do with jagerBut I have a feeling in my gut that people are going to leave over ita lot of people,
Rolled 12>>29503899You said if we attacked him or acted really out there we'd die. At the end we were acting really out there. Paranoia seems to be the natural state of /tg/ and those last two options seemed exactly like it was win or die
>>29503899just call it a night here Azure. everybody's emotions are riding high atm.they're just buttflustered over their own paranoia and lack of reading comprehension biting them in the ass
>>29503899We thought we were attacking him. What don't you understand here?Monologue appeared to have assumed direct control and was doing plot magic to drain Beelzebub of all his power. That is what you conveyed to the majority of the thread. No one is happy with this, and the only thing we're going to learn is that this quest is not worth following.Just please for the love of god, undo this, and don't let us play as Jager. We didn't think there would be so harsh a penalty for not being IC.We weren't saying we wanted her to be like this.
>>29502948>>29502463>>29502263>>29502233>>29502199>>29502180>>29502154>>29502127>>29502125>>29502110>>29502103>>29502084
>>29503899Now, one thought on that. Wouldn't Dominic and Caede likely be together anyway? I mean, the only time that they have ever really been seen separately was the moon. But that was that rat bastard Moon who did that, rather than voluntary choice.Only point I'm going to bring up on that bit of the character destruction that was caused here.
>>29503899>They could be totally out of character....Well, that's... fuck. Why do all the quests that invoke this rule melt the fuck down?
>>29503979>>29503979Well third times the charm rightMaybe we'll be able to finish the next hollow quest
>>29503945some of us are simply mad because the lot of you are retards and the few who actually did vote the right choice cause they know how to read and actually comprehend works got drowned out by the loads of faggots screwing DERP assuming their stupidity has no consequences and are now bitching because people are not only have exactly zero reading comprehension but are now acting like that guys being told off their magical little girl just got killed and they can't veto it.
>>29503979Same reason I saved this pic. People don't like seeing what happens when you bring people to dark places.
>>29503899Please undo it.The stakes were unclear from the very start of the quest.Punishing is is meaningless, especially considering that one guy samefagged the option. And people were caught up in an argument. This isn't even what the majority of the players wanted so sticking with this is meaningless. We just want Jager the way she is. That was made very very clear. That's why you shouldn't have let us play as her, and fuck us over so hard for not doing it exactly right.
>>29503968your a stupid autist and i wish i could hate you to death, you didn't actually read the post and are just sperging ot that you fucked up and can't redo.stop being an entitled little shit and learn to read, god damn it this is why quests tend to go to shit.
>>29504008>hard for not doing it exactly rightTry "not acting in character at all".
>>29503968>We thought we were attacking him.>What don't you understand here?Well, you were wrong. The text was clear enough to show that a fight had yet to start. There was no indication that Beelzebub would attack. In fact, the text says that he only needs one more push to agree to another round that Monologue was assured to win. A push that we were given the choice to not push.
>>29503969So it was a 5-6 vote and one guy admitted to samefagging. This is not worth ruining the quest over AE.Especially since apologizing to Sin-Fin actually won.Why are you being so uptight about this? Have some basic empathy.
>>29504021I'll have to agree here as well.>>29503968Fuck you.
Well, gentleman, It feels to me like this quest is beginning it's death throes
>>29503979All I am saying is players complained of railroading. I thought, okay, I want them to feel like they have control. I gave literally total control. Instead of saying "No anon, jager would want to watch out for Caede first. Even if they were together she would worry more about her" I just said "Okay, they want to be out of character then that if perfectly fine. They are the players and I will not railroad them."You think falling into a fight with beelzebub was a railroad? The Lucifer was not going to send one of his best fallen to get back the thing he really wants? Of course he is going to do that. You could have avoided, you could have run away. You could have given risa up to Beelzebub and I would have said "Okay, that happens">>29504008You literally defined who she was. There was no right way to play her because player agency dictated total and complete control of the character.Like I said, I am still uncertain how I am going to swing this, but the choice was there. Please stop yelling player agency and railroad at me. You had a blank canvas.
>>29504048>>29504021I fucking voted for Sin-Fin.I'm just saying that a lot of people didn't read it correctly because we seemed really hostile and it appeared as if we were taking Beelzebub's power by force. And anyway, as >>29503969indicates, it seems like apologizing was actually the winning option.Like is one guy really worth ruining the quest over?
>>29504050Basic empathy? You've been shitting on AE this entire thread. You called him spiteful earlier? You sure you aren't projecting?
>>29503969
>>29504000I was against telling Ryouichi but I was outvoted I was against Keep Playing! but I was outvotedI dislike being drowned out by people that don't think things through but majority rules. I'm just gonna try to not this kinda stuff get to me.
Rolled 6>>29504083Jaeger actually is worth ending the quest over.
>>29504070Look, we didn't know it at the time, so people got pissed about it, I am not one of them as I don't care about jager, or sin fin, or even Caede.
>>29504066i'll agree, but this quest has always had the problem of people screaming out in autistic rage, but its literally only gotten worse and things are finally boiling up.literally /tg/ you know those That guy thread and that GM threads where everyone has a story of bitching and moaning.you are my story for those threads, look at yourselves.
>>29504070Fair point on Caede, I will concede that point in that Jager would worry about her first. Can you or anyone else answer if Jager knows Caede's a bug demon?
>>29504050So I have unwarranted dignity and no empathy. As I said, I am still thinking about it but I -HAVE- to trust the votes as they are given. Otherwise it becomes a laborious process which makes it literally impossible to run. I have to trust the votes and retcons are generally speaking poison.I have given two conditional retcons already. A third would require something. I don't like save points in general.
>>29504110>>29504110We could always try again for a third timeI mean the last hollow quest died with a whimperwhy not this one go out with a bang?
>>29504100you can't take it back anonjust don't do it again.
>>29504070But that doesn't work since Jager IS an already established character.Instead of having Monologue in our head, you should have had us be in Jager's head.I don't get what's hard to grasp here. We are so used to being Risa, and you didn't give us any training wheels.Just please get us out of Jager's driver's seat and let her be her. That's why we like her.She should not have been completely defined by us, because we are Risa.
Rolled 10>>29504133Can plantbro be the price again?
>>29504130Well I wonder what we'll be next hollow quest, I vote a big drunken man whose mask fragment is a beard if we get that far
>>29504100So, how's it feel to have completely fucked up?You really thought you were saving the quest, didn't you? Now, I'm not saying this as an insult; I'm saying this because I honestly would prefer to have people who have better reading comprehension on this board: maybe you should get your reading comprehension retested. There are a number of online reading comprehension tests that you can take. You should take a couple and see where your reading comprehension currently stands, and see if it needs improvement.
>>29504157May've gone too long without him to be the price. We may have to think harder than that, guys.
>>29504154Because that would have been taking away player agency anon. Being just a rock suggesting thing would mean she can say no, meaning players would lose some control and just be on a railroad.Which was the single greatest complaint.
>>29504070>>29503979 here>players complained of railroading.I don't feel like it was a majority of players complaining about railroading, I was satisfied with the other threads, even the Ryouchi fuckup because that was us, 100%.Hell,I know I can't prove it, but I haven't complaining about railroading at all since the beginning of this quest. I've been yelling at the jackasses crying that.>You had a blank canvasWhich is somewhat new and horrifying for us, because everytime you hand /tg/ that it ends up as 300 carat white knight or chaotic evil jackhole, and since this is Hollow Quest...
>>29504133It's not poison at all.It shows you care. Especially with >>29504100Just I don't know, have us have to do more grinding, or travel through other worlds again, whatever you want.Retconning does not imply weakness.
>>29504157what if monologue is the price? a "oh my god! what have I done to mah short fin!" suicide redemption?
>>29504189Great meCaedeThe vampire hollow abomination thing42choose
Rolled 13>>29504204I would love that. And it'd let him write out monologue!
>>29504198Except Monologue was the railroad.Being told no from our friend is fine because we like her and trust her judgment.Like what you did felt a lot more like railroading than us being a voice in Jager's head would.
>>29504204Monologue being gone is for the players, it isn't a price. People hate monologue. I had him put in as a plan double checker, then started working him in and making you more special and powerful but no. That seems to have taken away player agency and ruined the quest so I am fairly certain I am going to get rid of it and reword it so he was just an imaginary thing we had.
>>29504204Getting rid of something that was already slated to be removed is no sacrifice at all, anon.
>>29504133Don't worry about him, he's a fuckwit.>>29504226Keep being a fuckwit.
>>29504223I like monologuethe quest would lose its magic if she wentbut it would also lose it if jager goes destruction
>>29504227He was fine for Risa, but not fine for Jager. And like it or not, he's already part of the quest.I liked him as a plan double-checker, it was just when he seemed to be God that I had a problem with.
>>29504227I fucking loved monologue.
>>29504227I liked Monologue with Risa. I didn't like him with Jager.
>>29504227Maybe we can do worldhopping round two?Whatever setting you want to write?Just please don't ruin Jager.
>>29504226Monologue reflected your choices and made sure that what you chose would happen no matter what. It served to improve player agency. Instead of Jager saying "No I am going after Caede" Monologue made it so your choice happened.>>29504255He was fucking with you. He liked fucking with you. It was his thing.Monologue being with Risa was one of the major issue people complained about. So getting rid of him was the logical course.
Rolled 6>>29504227Monologue was awesome. Except for all the implied powers
>>29504227Okay, first off, haven't been one of the people yelling at you. Honestly, I understand the points and think that as QM, this was probably the only conclusion that you had left when your players got to you. But...what about Hueco Mundo? What about losing an entire god damn plane, as Hell itself swallowed it up? Losing home, for all intents and purposes, losing the base, losing almost everything and outright changing the game to the point where all would take pause? Then again, that may already be happening. I dunno.
>>29504273Or we can just start over, it would teach us some damn humility and competence if we weren't playing an insane character for the third time around.
>>29504227>People hate monologue. No, they didn't.Monologue was neat when Risa had it. How many complaints of "player agency" were there? All I can recall is /tg/ screaming "railroad" and "agency" when they fucked up personally.
>>29504277what if Jager loses her hollowness? gets purified into a shinigami or something else?
>>29504277But that's not what anyone wanted. How did you think that we wanted an evil genie? And again, that was massively unclear. It's okay to take away player agency, what matters is how you do it.Like if we're being told not to do things by someone we really like to hang out with, then that's okay. A big part of why we cut out the murder is because our friends wouldn't approve.Absolute freedom is pretty awful, you need SOME limits.
>>29504277>Monologue being with Risa was one of the major issue people complained about. When were the major complaints made? After every /tg/ fuckup? You sure that the problem might not be us?
This quest is fucking dying, I can feel it in my bonesah well, at least Risa and plant bro can hang out With Chesire and the handless headsman now.
>>29504317>>29504317THIS THIS THiS
>>29504277People only complained about railroading and Monologue in this thread. These weren't long-standing objections. And to make matters worse, people were so busy arguing that they weren't paying attention to the action.
>>29504277Honestly Azure having come into this thread after everything I would advise just to can itYou have one guy who posted proof of samefagging votes, idiots crying I would just drop this thread and restart again with a different scenario so that all these autists can stop cryingIt sucks but changing what happened by changing what they walk into let's you have a clear idea of what's happened and it stops all the bitchingMonologue with Jaeger didn't really work, it always was more of a Risa thing that wouldn't work with another character. It was a good try but people being idiots about the situation ruined it for everyone involved you as wellRetcons are a terrible thing to have to do but sometimes they are rightIf I had been here for the thread I might feel different but from just reading it I think this thread ran badly from the start because of how both sides handled it
>>29504277Having us be a powerless voice in Jager's head is the perfect punishment. It has us completely at Jager's mercy, and is a way to essentially teach us a lesson on how to behave.
>>29504394Like that's an actual consequence that wouldn't cause any ragequits.
>>29504394That's us just sitting along for a ride, anon. Care to explain how that'd be a punishment after seeing how bad we are at this?
>>29504445This is going to cause rage quits as wellHonestly the best Thing I see is to just Burn redux to the groundwipe up the ashesand restart with a new character and cast
>>29504273When I did world hopping round one people hated it and said it would be the death of the quest. I shortened it to one thread and it was still poorly received.Even removing fate breaker means you can get them back, or work for something new. >>29504301Yes, you lost something. You lost plant bro and as a result you turned yourself into a cannon of absolute destruction and ate part of an old one.It gives you a goal. Goals are useful.>>29504320Players were unhappy with their level of agency. I was giving as much as I could.>>29504308A lot in the last arc.>>29504317No, that's just silly. Also she would forget you. Plus there is no Japanese afterlife anymore, remember?>>29504372No, they really didn't. After the old one, after ryouichi, after virtually every move that is made.>>29504394Until people get pissed about agency if it lasts more than one post and drop the quest. I literally can not run without players.>>29504380I may conditionally retcon, but I still have not yet decided. Thank you for your input anon.Another problem as an anon pointed out is that this shit is going to keep happening. Even if I make you fail and help give you a goal for it. Think about the rap battle, as a result we got the scarborough affair. As a result of Docta gangsta we got bitey, because of Ryouichi we became stylish. You are not losing but even when you sort of don't win totally you, I don't know, but can you get what I mean? I want to be the one to run the game. I have some cool end bosses, an idea for making pantheons and all of that but this environment is difficult to make everyone happy and I do not want that.I am fine with a few hiccups here and there but I do not want our quest to become a breeding ground for retcons and pussyfooting and the like.
Rolled 18>>29504485I don't see how that'd be the best thing. The quest is already nearing the end anyways.
>>29504492its fine. what's done is donesee you at Hollow Quest 52 Azure
>>29504502Honestly there's to much spite and anger built up in this quest by nowbesides We already did what we started out trying to dogetting back plant bro
>>29504492Just try to make things clearer in the future. That's all I'm going to ask. Retcon, don't retcon, I just want to be able to at least have some vague idea of what my vote is doing. Not even the stupidly obvious things like "THIS CHOICE WILL LOBOTOMIZE YOUR EMPATHY". I just want to be able to tell whether or not we're attacking a dude and he's about to kill us as revenge for attacking him.
>>29504492>>29504301 here, maybe I should explain better. I am wondering if, in order to get these guys to shut up one way or another, sacrificing the entire setting of Hueco Mundo and everything tied to it-the fast escapes, the previously safe domain, the homeland-betting that and losing it instead of Risa and Jager's humanity, would be an acceptable mitigating factor if you choose to retcon.
>>29504586Also wondering if that wasn't already in the cards, I should add.
>>29504582>Not even the stupidly obvious things like "THIS CHOICE WILL LOBOTOMIZE YOUR EMPATHY"Sadly, I think blatantly spelling out the choices might be the only to avoid mass retardation/hysteria
>>29504492But that's better than a dead quest.Because Jager IS Hollow Quest Redux.I'm about to cry again, like maybe if I made it clearer in the past how important she was, you wouldn't have given us absolute control over her.Just give her back, because there is no silver lining to this. It's not pussyfooting, people aren't going to make fun of you. It's showing that you liked writing her as much as we liked reading her. And just because we liked reading her doesn't mean we know how to be her, as was clearly demonstrated.
>>29504582I think you need to improve your reading comprehension skills, rather than Azure needs to improve his writing.Yes, some QM's do need to improve the clarity of their writing, and even the best do sometimes slip up.But this was not one of those times.
>>29504492You say you can't run without players, and yet you're putting your foot down on utterly ruining the runaway favorite character of the quest.Think about what you're saying. You don't want to lose players, so instead you're sticking with doing something that is going to lose a lot more players?
>>29504610We could always start again if it doesn't work outmake a differnt kind of hollow this time round
>>29504492I think the biggest issue is people overreactingHonestly Jaeger wasnt my favourite but I liked her because she was the only vaguely human one left out of the castWhether you retcon or just have a thread where she can fight off the influence and go humanity again I think this is an issue that needs to be solved next thread but keep Jaeger lower powered and cut off some of the power levelling because it seems to lead to the worst decisions being madeAlso as much as having a huge threat show up to give her an opportunity for a power up was a good idea /tg/ being /tg/ fucked it with paranoia so maybe Jaeger gaining power should have been from a more unexpected source
>>29504624I'm sorry, but>You infuse it with energy and it slams into the fallen angel's legs in the perfect spot. Forcing a muffled cry of pain as he bends slightly. He looks up enragedlooks exactly like we attacked the guy and he was pissed.
>>29504492Just retcon out us playing as Jager. It was an experiment and it's clearly not something we can handle. Or wanted to handle.I don't care if you just do a timeskip so you can just completely change the scenery, just keep her as our voice-of-reason friend and don't think that /tg/ is able to replicate that.
>>29504667>looks exactly like we attacked the guy and he was pissed.Yes, and the very next that happens is that he calms down is perplexed. He becomes intrigued with the offer but is still unsure, and that's why Monologue was pushing to taunt him into agreeing.
>>29504582I made things fairly clear this time. He was not hostile to you, you did not attack. I said it even in meta so the players would know.>>29504586Maybe, but I was planning on Hueco Mundo being lost at least for a little while, so just like monologue pay with something that was going to be gone anyway?>>29504603That is... not something I would particularly enjoy doing.>>29504610This is 4chan. If I don't get at least six accusations of homosexuality because of anything I do I start getting nervous. It's just when people have a legitimate issue that I try to avoid retconning things and changing things. If I retcon it then it will also step all over player agency which, again, has been a major problem.>>29504636Anon, for the love of god. I said I am still considering it. Which means it could go either way depending on how shit goes.As for me just destroying the favorite character, that would imply a railroad which, again, is the exact opposite of what I believe I have done. Unless you are saying I ruined her by giving her to the players? Sorry if that sounds mean, but I just took the votes and even stopped mid post when people started showing unhappiness. I stopped an action mid scene because players looked like they were going to choose something else.>>29504684I would prefer this stays if at least to remind me of what to do or not to do. Granted I am still up in the air about it but I will certainly keep it in mind in the future.Am I maybe putting too much faith in the players? Am I giving too much agency?
>>29504717was Jager's power boost significant at least?
Rolled 12>>29504717You did ruin her by giving her to the players. Thats exactly what happened here.
>>29504717I just have a feeling the quest will die if jager stays destruction
>>29504717>I stopped an action mid scene because players looked like they were going to choose something else.Different anon here. You stopped posting and threatened to turn it into a roll fest. Which was essentially threatening guaranteed death. You offered death as the other option.
>>29504717Yes you are, that's been made abundantly clear.Absolute freedom leads to aimless fuckery. That's part of why I liked Jager so much, because she was the one who grounded us.Giving us absolute control over her, and inflicting monologue upon her kind of destroyed that.Like she was losing it since the opening posts. It really isn't an all-or-nothing thing. How you do things matter. Like restricting our actions through friendship is fine. It's what friendly NPCs are for.
>>29504717Retconning it out doesn't mean it's erased from existence. It means we can all look back at this thread and know what we might face if we slip up again.
>>29504717>Am I giving too much agency?Player agency and freedom means have the freedom to commit grievous mistakes and the responsibility to not commit them. Of course some people say that mistakes are there to be made to make the story interesting, but I doubt those people would say the same thing if it was something that they were emotionally invested in that they lost. And if they're not emotionally invested in characters and the outcome of the game, then they're pretty much That Guy that sits at the game table texting on their phone or checking their Facebook page, and have to be prompted when their turn comes up. But I digress.
>>29504717>Am I maybe putting too much faith in the players?Yes.
>>29504717As I said in a post after, wasn't sure if we were losing Hueco Mundo anyway. Just figured I'd try and help with this clusterfuck since most of the others are either at the "OH GOD WHY RAAA I HATE YOU FAGGOT I'M NEVER PLAYING please give it back?" or yelling at those people phases and am too lazy to set up a twitter to try bouncing ideas off for either retcon or continuing.
Rolled 9>>29504717>Am I maybe putting too much faith in the players? Am I giving too much agency?Yes, yes you are.
>>29504717>I made things fairly clear this time. He was not hostile to you, you did not attack. I said it even in meta so the players would know.It really wasn't. This was only marginally better than Fenrir's 'just pretending to be uninjured' shtick. Every single big fuck up in this quest pointed to the Sin-Fin option being a trap.
>>29504745A bit. It got her started on the path of destruction.>>29504748>>29504812>>29504840That is a very straightforward answer anon, thank you.>>29504764You were not going to die unless you attacked him. I was just going to give it more risk.>>29504770I was giving more and less player agency as I went along. It seemed people kept calling railroading so I kept scaling it back more and more. Even Jager wasn't controlling us the last few threads, she has just been along for the ride because "railroad">>29504810Yes, and the players made a mistake. Now I am being called a railroading QM for letting you make that choice. Hence why it has pretty much lost all meaning when anons say it at me.>>29504817Yes, I just thought you deserve an answer about my plan since you were so polite.
>>29504717Let's put it this way, you gave us so MUCH agency it actually warped back around somehow.Actually restricting our actions, if handled right, will paradoxically make your players feel as if they have more freedom.
>Azure puts us back on Path of Empathy>Eventually get to a point where bad rolls/choices lead to us NEEDING the Path of Destruction>Everyone double buttmadsIf this happens...
>>29504859Azure, I have said this many times, But I honestly feel this quest dying.
>>29504859>You were not going to die unless you attacked him.I'm left wondering why it seems that people didn't believe you.
>>29504717>Am I maybe putting too much faith in the players? Am I giving too much agency?I don't hold my fellow players in very high regard and this thread did nothing to change that. but you know what? fuck it. the players did this to themselves.those two faggots complained about railroading but turns out free will just means we hang ourselves. but you wanna dance? you gotta pay the band. you can't make them all happy. just keep on keeping and march forward. just stay the course.>>29504894oh hush, is this your first shit storm?
>>29504859Ah, thank you then. Sorry, past 3 AM here, stopped thinking for a bit. Also used to being the guy that DMs always bounce ideas off of, so if you need someone, just mention and I'll probably begin giving enough fucks to make a twitter since this quest makes me laugh when little else does.
>>29504859It's because running from Beelzebub meant abandoning Caede, which is something we wouldn't do.And in the contest, you made it clear that it was Monologue's way or the highway, with the alternative being death by dice god.And losing the game was going to kill to us, unless you're saying that we were guaranteed to win somehow? And again, the samefaggotry combined with it already being a very close vote means you're punishing all the players for the actions of a fraction of the whole.
>>29504867Except that everytime there's been a hint of restricting choices, people have cried 'railroad!'And even when full freedom was given, such as the choice to NOT eat a part of a Great Old One, people decided to do it, and in this very thread, people have said that was railroading.
>>29504906No, I just have this horrid dread that redux is coming to a horrible end
>>29504906But we were complaining about railroading because it didn't seem as if we had free will.Us having free will was not conveyed, it seemed more like we were just Monologue's puppets.
>>29504910>running from Beelzebub meant abandoning Caede,Caede is far away, and confirmed to be so.or did you conveniently forget that?
>>29504859Just don't slit your throat to spite us.We don't want to tell Jager who to be. We want Jager to be Jager.Just please give her back.
>>29504894Yes, I know. I am attempting to fix that. Hence my back and forth and brainstorming.>>29504910She wasn't even in the room with you. It would have gotten to the point where you rolled for the back side effects and would have been given the chance to roll to cheat rather than auto succeed at cheating. Or roll to play big and get the path of fortune as opposed to just getting it for choice. You trusted the devil you knew.>>29504907It is fine. Thanks for the offer but I will just putz about while thinking about it.>>29504926Literally the opposite. Monologue is designed to filter and gather consensus. Then force things to happen in the "real world">>29504939That is a lovely image but I have no intentions. It is still up in the air, and I am thinking how best to handle it.I want to take a break but at the same time I don't. It is a difficult paradox.
>>29504859Oh! Almost forgot. I know you posted a general guideline on how char gen went, but could you possibly share any notes on that? Wanted to see what could be spawned from that with a random group of internet buddies and what devilry I could put them through.
>>29504934She was still in Hueco Mundo, which meant she wasn't safe after Beelzebub killed Fuego. And fine, maybe it is our fault for not reading closer.I'm going to promise to ask a question whenever I don't understand something. But this seems way too harsh a punishment.
>>29504926>it seemed more like we were just Monologue's puppets. What? Monologue enforced the player's choices, against the better judgement of Jager. And then during the poker game we decided to have Monologue control Jager's body, another choice made by the players. Our free will was adequately conveyed, and our choices were enforced.
>>29504939you're fucking pathetic. your own stupidity and lack of foresight killed her.not any perceived malice from the QM.your refusal to learn from mistakes or admit failure is the reason these shitstorms keep happening
>>29504954You could always run another quest, as you said you thought it would be over by nowmaybe you just need some variety in your QMing diet
Welp, now we can spend the next 50 threads trying to fix Jager. Should be doable with time-god powers. At least we still have the plant.
>>29504958fuego isn't dead ya dumbass
>>29504955Ah, I will have to root around for them. I will post what I can in a future thread or on Twitter if I am mauled by wild animals.>>29504976I already run a different game under a different trip with a totally different tone and play style.
>>29504954one last idea for a compromiseJager develops a split personality over thisone half normal Jager, the other DESTRUCTION blood thirster
>>29505001Well you could always restartA clean slate could save/ kill this quest
>>29504954I guess the problem is that Monologue doesn't feel like "us". Like I felt that we were Risa, whilst Monologue was some stowaway who helped us sometimes, and hindered us in others. That's why I felt we didn't have any agency, I felt as if we were forced to follow Monologue's agenda.
>>29504958>She was still in Hueco Mundo, which meant she wasn't safe after Beelzebub killed Fuego. She was in the opposite direction of where Beelzebub was going to be searching.First, we quashed Jager's instinct to go to Caede and decided to go to Fuego.Second, when we DID get to Fuego, played poker against Beelzebub, and WON, Beelzebub had promised and given his unbreakable word that he would leave Hueco with no further harm to us or our subordinates, which included Caede. So no, Caede was going to be safe unless we got into a fight with Beelzebub.
>>29505001>I already run a different game under a different trip with a totally different tone and play style.Huh.
>>29504965I picked Sin-Fin you shithead. As did the majority of the thread apparently, and the ones that didn't pick Sin-Fin, did so because they thought the alternative was death. As far as I'm concerned, Jager IS the quest. Like if she goes, we go and that's that. And she's gone.
>>29505023>I felt as if we were forced to follow Monologue's agenda.Except that Monologue was very clearly enforcing the players' choices, even if she tried to sway them in one direction or another.
>>29501984>"Well, certainly well played." He offers and stands.People didn't notice we won? Dear god man are the people who visit these threads literally retarded? Just visited the archives and noticed this was here and thought "Hey haven't read a new thread for a while I wonder what happened?" Then read this after being gone for a while.Ended with me yelling at people to not let monologue do whatever it wants after we won already jesus christ people.
>>29505001>I already run a different game under a different trip with a totally different tone and play style. If it dies before HQR through some twist of cruel fate, care to tell us what it is then? I'm curious.
>>29505001Thanks, and no need to worry about a time frame, they're a patient lot with attention spans currently occupied with other ideas, with one budding into something at the moment. Got to wait for that one to grow enough to distract them with another thing first.
>>29504954Fine you're right, it's my fault for not reading clearly.Just give Jager back. Maybe tie her to our life energy so that Risa will die if Jager dies, no matter how powerful Risa gets.
>>29505059>People didn't notice we won?Like I keep telling people, they need to take some reading comprehension tests and check the level that they're reading at.
>>29505023It was part of Risa's human goop which was scraped out and her psychosis plus her hollow madness. He/She was like a cupboard in our brain which occasionally replaced the good cereal with snakes because it was funny. That is how I saw it.>>29505037Is it that shocking?>>29505052I know not directed at me, but again I have to trust the player votes as much as I can. Otherwise the game just doesn't work. I will think of a better way in the future.>>29505064If it dies, though I don't expect it to.>>29505071It is certainly an idea.
>>29505059Different anon.I saw we won, but then we kept going and I thought it was a double or nothing type deal.
>>29505059No we didn't.We were preoccupied yelling at each other. But we still made the right choice, if not for one guy apparently samefagging a lot.
>>29505052Not to mention the guy who posted proof he samefagged the destruction votes
>>29505071And then Jager wears Risa like a symbiote suit...
>>29505079You can just do the number thing. That's also a good way to get players to understand that shit is serious. And I don't know, Monologue didn't really seem like it was us at all after a while. And if he was us, then he had no business mindraping Jager.
>>29505079hey Azure What about this idea? >>29505012
>>29505124>Monologue didn't really seem like it was us at all after a whileThat's because it wasn't. It wasn't the players, but it was enforcing the players' choices upon reality.
>>29505079The game just doesn't work because you trust the players votes too much. You trust they understand the implications of their actions, and what exactly it is they're choosing.Like you know how you sometimes asked for clarification on what it is we wanted to do?That actually worked really nicely.I mean again, this is Ryoko only so much worse. You're taking away a great character because you thought we asked for it, and think that giving it back would result in something other than gratitude.I mean... no one has ever called you out on bringing back Ryoko.
>>29505124Well, it was it and other stuff. Keep in mind it has been getting doused in hollow and god and angel radiation same as you. Is it connected to other things? Maybe. Did it have the worst of your traits in it? Oh dear me yes. Was it the players fuck you stick? In most instances yes. Except when she was making you watch magical girl schrodinger chanThat was just to get off on.It couldn't do much to you because, honestly, you would find most of it fun or at least not too bothersome.>>29505128Only if Risa becomes a cool superhero.Bat-Cat? No, the violet shadow? No. Schrodingerman? She is a girl. If only I brought a thesaurus!
>>29505001Hello Azure, just wanted to say this:I've been reading reading the quest from the beginning, I join very sporadically [I'm EU, it just does not compute with your times]. Not complaining, I'm happy with reading. However, this thread is horrible.Ruining one of THE best characters in the quest over one or two votes made by the same 5 people, who obviously do not represent the majority of the questers. While reading, I usually think about what choice I would make.I definitely would have made the deal with monologue. But I would stop right fucking after monologue insulted Sin-Fin [who is its loved hollow - muh fuckin' Short-Fin, am I not right?].Right there, Jager should have taken over and should've gone: no fucking way, this ain't happening, I'm not hurting my friends monologue.Just saying. I wouldn't vote for that shit if I were there and I'm 100% sure many people agree with me.On an unrelated note of PC death:I don't give a fuck, we made the wrong decision [not once!]. Right in the beginning, with Afro.We learnt. However, many new players joined the quest since then. They're not used to dying in quests and you being strict with your rules, which we all should know. I mean, holy shit, you're bending them wherever you can to cater to people who do not know what the fuck they're doing. The quest needs a measure of keeping people in character from your side, otherwise it spirals into shit. Because that's what happens when you let /tg/ go wild 90% of the time.
>>29505168>butts oh my
>>29505168Magical Girl S isn't cool enough?
>>29505168The smile?
>>29505168But having her do stuff to Jager felt so much worse than Jager just saying no.I just legitimately cannot fathom how you thought players would be more upset about Jager not going with what they said, than an evil thought parasite mind-raping her until she did what they wanted.
>Huh hollow is on tonight, pity I have an exam tomorrow and it's England so really can't stay up>Read on the way to uniMuh Jaegertits :(
>>29505166This so much.I mean people STILL bitch about Ryoko going back to her home planet sometimes, but no one has EVER said that you bringing her back was a bad move, and you're being intellectually dishonest with yourself if you think Jager would be any different.
>>29505091>>29505082>>29505077Hmm. I see if there was samefagging around then it makes more sense. Though personality if I was the QM right now in this situation I would go for. >>29505012Only tied to her past. Most people here seem to suck at playing Jager. Like suck bad enough to make me cry. I would stick it as temporary insanity as the hollow half of Jager gains a deeper grip on her mind. Leading to us later having to help one side win out over the other.Redos should almost never be used but in the case of a genuine miscount of votes. But then I"m not Azure nor do I have his notes though. It's his decision in the end.
>>29505241>if there was samefagging aroundsee>>29503969>>29504100
>>29505241That's why I didn't want absolute control over Jager in the first place.I mean Hero Quest is more popular than this one by a fair amount, and it restricts player action frequently.I wanted that. I wanted to be in Jager's head, not to be forced to be Jager, only with Monologue.
>>29505168The Woman who laughsSmileyPrankster gangsterCaptain Schizothe confusing cat
>>29505166What it was discussing was in the text though. I don't want to put tl;dr post summaries everywhere.>>29505179I agree, however at the time I had to trust the player votes. In the past agency was a problem, and we have decided more or less that I have been impossibly lenient. You may be right, I did not consider the idea I have been attracting new players at all and that is on me.I also don't consider players reading through what I post and just skimming, that is also on me which I think might have been one of the problems this time around.I thought people knew I tend to have player choices hit hard when they do it, but you are absolutely right. Those things didn't even occur to me.>>29505181She is so cool>>29505180Risa butt is, perhaps, best butt. More science is needed to assertain if fact. I see what I did there.>>29505186That is a pedophile super villain name.>>29505190Because again it was totally out of character for her to do said things. But there were no tracks to follow.>>29505240I am uncertain about that, but I will keep it in mind.
>>29505168The Mellifluous Hussy
>>29505266Oh Jesus what. That's practically all the votes for what we ended up with.
>>29505274>Risa butt is, perhaps, best butt.We need to get more of it. Is crystalbutt still good butt?
>>29505296Hard to say. Most butt go bad once risabutt happens.
>>29505290Yeah. It was one guy that thought quitting the game would kill us so he tried to "save us" and fucked the whole thing up.
>>29505274This just seems like such a bad issue to make a stand over.As well as the worst time to completely revoke leniency.I mean it seemed like this was gonna be more of a breather arc, with shenanigans. The players weren't prepared for this.It was a disaster from the start of the thread.
>>29505314 which butt is worst butt?and is the Dissociative personality disorder Jager actually being considered?
>>29505329And it makes AE's position unfathomable, unless he's literally from Mechanus.Does he think that guy is a liar?I really don't comprehend what he thinks he stands to lose here.
>>29505357Azure's posts earlier seemed to indicate that he believes the guy.
>>29505270Yeah the only reason I gave that one suggested course is because it's pretty much against what Jager is like 99 percent of the time. So I would assume even if she messed up a bit that would hold over one decision. But that is just how I think of things. Mainly because I realize most people here can't into Jagers personality if they tried.
>>29505374Then he's apparently made of Lawful Neutral. He is become Stannis.
>>29505289>29505289LORD OF ALL DRUGS
>>29505380I'm not sure why that wasn't apparent to AE from the start.Or why he thought one thread was enough to completely destroy her character.
>>29505357I think its about setting a precedent or avoiding one rather.if he retcons this because of samefagging, what's to stop people from crying samefag for the next big decision?just my opinion
It's so fucking ironic.>Jager, the most "good" hollow ever gets devil powerup>Risa, as S-class cuntwad among hollows who actually teamed up with Satan for lols, gets chosen by God for divine powerups.Just. I dunno. The symmetry is beautiful if nothing else.
>>29505413Because he used it up here. And if he doesn't, then yes he won't put up with people crying samefag.Because there won't be any people.
>>29505411Because last time he tried character building side threads people bitched about it despite the threads going very well>>29505413A big difference when there is proof vs just people claiming it
>>29505427It's not ironic at all. It's the logical outcome of people used to driving Risa got put behind the wheel of Jager. And asked to drive on Rainbow Road.
>>29505435sadly, pictures can be photoshopped.not that I doubt the sincerity of the confessor on this occasion
>>29505390I will lose my god's blessings if I give in.>>29505330It is not really a stand as much as how I have always run the game. You get knocked down hard then get up again and sodomize time like that one prison show.>>29505357This too>>29505413>>29505429So a more 'No second chances" sort of deal?>>29505435I like character building actually. I like world hopping and what if scenarios. My players sadly do not.
>>29505435When was that? The High school arc?Because some of the best threads I can remember was just us chilling out with Jager or Kouta etc.
>>29505357>from Mechanus.ahahah. That would be the best QM ever.
>>29505452the ones that bitch the hardest are the ones that never leave.is there a chance of Jager going back to normal down the road maybe?
>>29505452Yes, because there is no getting back up for this.Risa and Jager are a team. Without Jager, there's no point to there being a Risa. And Jager is no longer Jager. No one thread should have so much power, especially not after another really big thread. And players like character building with Jager and Sin-Fin.I mean we chose to cuddle with Jager instead of doing important things.
>>29505452Well Stannis' god is a fucking cuntnow the old godsthat shit is where it's atunless you want to become a horse fucker who's end of days consists of a grass that mildly inconveniences their horses
>>29505427Okay that is funny yes.
>>29505452It's different with Jager. She goes, we go.Like it's something I wanted to write us as saying to Jager back when Jager kept threatening to martyr herself. That she is the one part of us that we can't heal. And if she dies, we'll be joining her soon enough.
We did get the Path of Horror available for Risa, didn't we? Why can't we just do /something/ in quest that lets us reopen the Empathy path and close a different one instead?
>>29505452It's not the same. And I liked those things as well, I think the problem was just that it felt like we were forced into it.Just please give her back, and make it clear that if we lose her again, we lose the game.
>>29505523Because we're not going to be able to do that because we are not qualified to play as Jager at all.Especially not with our shitty decisions not being her questioning why she's making so many bad choices, but instead magically warping her character.
>>29505536it was fear that made this decision (or rather the fear of one samefag). A sword of Damocles hanging over the thread would only encourage fear filled decisions
>>29505452How is it being how you have always run the game supposed to make it seem more legitimate?Look at where we are now.The quest is dying, and you know it. And you also know that ruining Jager isn't exactly going to breathe new life into it.Maybe it's time you really rethink some things after you bring Jager back so there's something to rethink.
Well, if nothing else I thinks it's a point in AE's book that he has managed to write a character that /tg/ has become this invested in. As much as I hate what you chucklefucks did to Jaegertits, serves me right for wanting to get rested for exams I suppose, I will be sticking around to see what happens. And if Jaeger does not get fixed, risas reaction to the new Jaeger could be interesting.
>>29505593Fear can be a good thing, and I'm pretty sure that we'd already do anything to protect Jager even if it didn't mean official game over. It's just that what we can't do is BE Jager. Since we only know how to be Risa. And turning Jager INTO Risa is not the correct response.
>>29505612Yes, I'd say that is a point in AE's favor that he's made such a well-loved character while nonetheless having her be completely platonic with the MC.Which is why I think taking that away from us due to one fucking thread is such a blatant example of quest-suicide I'm inclined to think AE is really Twen.
>>29505614Like AE, I don't think you really grasp that Jager is your way of keeping us in line.If you had her stand up to us, we'd back down, and we wouldn't complain because we all love the character.
>>29505598I thought players learned. It has been dieing ever since I have started taking extended time off. I was hoping to get the heart to run again but honestly it is hard to get motivated to do so when this sort of stuff happens. I get that.So run a quest where nothing ever can possibly go wrong? Something fucked up happened because of a staggering amount of complaining. I gave the complaining people what they wanted. This quest has always had consequences for the main character. That has been us since thread 5 or 6? When ever the rap battle was. If you let the players just get away with everything ever with no real side effects they will abandon any sense of character and turn it into something like not-asia quest or what ever.>>29505641She was pretty platonic. I fairly certain I am not twen.>>29505667I had her helpfully guide you sometimes, but kept it hands off. I do not like railroading, again. Which is why it baffles me.
>>29505680good luck with the planning for thread 52 Azure.oh one question, what's stopping New edgy Jager from eating Risa the rock?
>>29505710God didn't diddle her. She just can't.
>>29505714I just hope Luci doesn't pop and just offer power in exchange for the rock.also Macho man Randy Savage was awesome
>>29505710Thanks. God did not touch her soul parts.
>>29505680Are you a Sith? Because it appears that you can only think in absolutes.Bringing Jager back doesn't mean no consequences forever. It means that this is still a quest worth playing in.Also have you considered that your attitude of heavy consequences has cultivated an atmosphere of rampant paranoia, which leads to us making worse decisions because we do badly out of pressure?Like the samefag did what he did because he panicked and thought the alternative would get everyone killed. Also you just gave us real side effects last thread. We're in a fucking gem. Bringing Jager back won't change the fact that we're powerless, Jager is still dramatically underleveled, and there's a whole lot of dangerous shit going on.
RIP Nice guy (gal) Jagershe was a good dog
What if old Jager becomes the new monologue?
>>29505735Stop. Stop going with this. You're going on a path where you just ignore anyone who disagrees with what you already decided. It's okay to bring Jager back. It won't make the players worse. It'll mean you have more than that guy.
>>29505728hmmmI know Mach man is always relatedBut what?
>>29505770So old Jager was Moral Compass all along? WE FOUND HER!
>>29505744You mean RIP Hollow Quest Redux.
>>29505772Oooooooooooooooh the quests going down
>>29505775My brother is watching some video/podcast and Macho Man cut a promo on it.I miss him, he would make a good Arrancar. Macho man, not my brother I mean.
>>29505798It's been going down. This isn't even a matter of debate. It's just that what AE's doing is speeding the process up as fast as possible, because his logic is insane.
>>29505738Part of me fears if I give in now then what happens next thread when an anon wants us to not be a rock and shits up the thread? Should I give in then too? The same argument of "The quest will still be worth playing in" applies there too.I am thinking of burning some stuff for next thread but we will see.>>29505772I have not decided anything, for the last time. God did not diddle her soul parts so she can not eat the plot rock.>>29505808Seriously? Okay, fine.
>>29505808Like Jager was my favorite character and this was once my favorite quest. And he's letting a samefag kill her because of some twisted sense of pride, and maybe spite.
>>29505808Hollow quest No.3 is always an option anon>>29505805I agree with youlets see if we can hollowize Mach man when he dies in this quest
its 4am guys. lets all just call it a night, chill off, and just think things over.
>>29505838That may be, but I woke up at 6pm.
>>29505833That is not it. I did not decide on anything. Please read the reasons why, I have said them over and over again.
Rolled 17>>29505833I... Okay, you obviously came in on the tail end of all of this and didn't read anything. Please read the multiple hours of arguing then come back to be a cunt.
>>29505827Not if you make being a rock fun, like being in Jager's head, seeing her thoughts, having her chide us, and shit.Maybe have her interact with the Mormons, that'd be fun to see. Like I wanna see how they would respond to someone as nice as Jager is.And I wanna see how she interacts with, well, everyone.
>some the people in this threadJesus christ
>>29505854I have. And they still don't make sense. You do not seem to comprehend orders of magnitude. You probably meant to give us a kick in the balls, but instead you sawed off our legs. This is something that no one was happy with, and mostly everyone didn't even vote for.The circumstances are unique and will not be repeated, especially since you now know better than to give us absolute power to decide who any character but our own should be.
I love how people care so much about Jager. It's honestly kind of funny considering she doesn't really do much of anything other then prop up a puppet rule and be broish.
>>29505933She loved us unconditionally (also not romantically, which is a pleasant bonus).Despite her being who she was and us being who we were. That's worth more than everything else in the quest.
>>29505933It not only fucked up Jager, it also alienated Sin Fin.Any power we gained by doing this was lost by Sin Fin leaving. This was a net loss power-wise and it was a lobotomization of Jager's strongest point.I'll admit that I'm a stat-humping powergamer, and even I found this to be repugnant.
>>29505955P-plant bro still l-loves us, r-right?*sniff*
>>29505955And goddamnit I feel like the more I say the likelier AE is to stick with his decision, just because he knows it'd hurt us more. It's why I didn't talk about my plan to beat Fenrir, I thought if I did, AE would find a way to make it not happen unless we did it right then and there.
>>29505916Okay, it's fine I can explain again. It's okay.I slapped with the plant, I almost punched with Ryoko, I kicked with Ryouichi and now I sawed with Jager. I hit harder in the vain hope that at some point players will figure out what things are bad.I had no way to know at the time that samefagging was happening. If I keep this as a consequence it might make it go down or up. It is hard to say.Not be repeated until anon destroys something and calls me a railroading fuck head for handing them a toy and allowing them to break it if they want. Okay, sure. I am totally sure that will never happen. If I am going to be accused of destroying player agency I may just actually add a few rails here or there which, I know for certain this is not the last time I will say this, is not a set in stone idea yet.JAGER HAS NOT BEEN SET IN STONE.I AM STILL THINKING ON HOW I SHOULD PROCEED.Granted it is almost 3 here so take what I say with the grain of salt one might when another is sleep deprived.
>>29505988Plantbro is basically Jesus. Died for our rap battle and everything.
>>29506008I am more likely to stick to my decision if people keep acting like it is all already decided and the quest is kill and woe is the world. Seriously, I have said it so many bloody times.
>>29506009There's a difference. It's okay to make Risa pay for our mistakes, it's not okay to do the same for Jager. Especially since our mistake was not being able to be Jager.Like do you not get that you're a really good writer? I mean you're rushed when you write, but despite the prose being dodgy you create really deep and complex characters that are a joy to interact with. That was true in .hack//AIDA, even more true here, and I'd wager it's a good way to find out what the other quest you're running is, since I'm certain it would similarly be true there.Like you made a character as ubiquitous as Lucifer entertaining to interact with, I honestly felt bad for him when he saw the extent of God's dickery. But that's why you shouldn't expect us to get up to your level. Risa is the most we can manage.
>>29506021I wouldn't pay much attention to the woe is me crowd. They are just kind of freaking out at the moment. Honestly I kind of have to complement the fact you got so many people to care about Jager that they would go doom and gloom if it seems something is going to go wrong with her.
>>29506021Dude, get some sleep. Make your decision away from the thread, as arguing your position here whilst tired is not really helping anything. This has been a fun quest, despite the ups and downs. And I for one will stick around.
>>29506065Thanks for saying, I am uncertain how to react to some of that but I will keep the players abilities in mind more in the future. Lower expectations, or something.>>29506092They are a very vocal part of the quest and I do not like ignoring players.>>29506103Got to finish up printing some papers due tomorrow and waiting for my sleeping pills to kick in. Still have a bit.
>>29506115> and I do not like ignoring playersYou're really nice. A lot nicer then I would be in this situation. Though right now I think most of this is just a knee jerk reaction. After a bit things should calm down enough so there won't be as much.
>>29506115If you make a really deep and multilayered character, don't give an anonymous horde one thread to get it right before they utterly destroy her. Is what I'm trying to say.
>>29506175I thought they would do better man. That was on me.I gave them total agency because I thought they wanted it and that was on me.I just wanted to have fun.
>>29506115Forgot you were still in college. And you're still managing two quests? That is legitimately impressive.
>>29506202True freedom in Role playing games never turns out well
>>29506206Nah, most of the other QMs do at least this much.
>>29506206I'd be more impressed if the scheduling wasn't so erratic or if it was more frequent, but even so it's still an accomplishment.>>29506223More than I could do.
>>29506202So did we. But that kind of total agency isn't very fun.It feels kind of like we're... floating in a big empty void, with none of our actions having any weight behind them unless they were backed by the will of Monologue and/or Lucifer. It's a kind of illusory powerlessness unique to this quest, which leads to disaster when players don't realize that their actions have consequences. Is bondage the one fetish you don't have? Tying someone down can be a fun time for everyone involved.
>>29506238Depends how on often he runs the other quests. For all we know it could have a much more regular schedule.
>>29506202I wouldn't let it make you feel down man. Do what you think is best and try to have fun with it. That's my advice from my time running games.
>>29506250My fetishes are pretty mundane, sorry to say.>>29506275I am trying, but thanks.
>>29506250Honestly I would say total agency works with Risa since her personality works good with the Anons. Jager though already has a set personality so some roading would have been best with her.Difference in character perspectives and all. Though this is just me saying how I see things.
>>29506271Well damn, thought something was up with my trip.
>>29506281It's just that punishing us so cruelly for not being able to be Jager, doesn't seem appropriate because we only know how to be Risa. We were shoved into the deep end, and drowned due to our traditional garments including lead boots. Is it our fault for not taking off the boots, yes. But we wouldn't have drowned if we were in the shallow end. Or even the middle end, depending on how tall we are. I lost track of the metaphor.
I swear these posts have been repeating themselves for the past four hours.I need to sleep...
>>29506315Her personality IS the Anons. We are her and she is us, for better and worse. But Jager is Jager. She shouldn't be us, because we don't know how to be her.And making her be -that- isn't the write answer, because nobody wants that, while everyone loved her.
>>29506371I was under the impression that the standard practice for quests when playing as an npc is to just straight up say that "Blatantly ooc actions will be disallowed. Yes it's minor railroading for the sake of narrative. Deal with it."
>>29506403We were coming off an instance where players were accusing me of being the railroad lord and I did not wish to cause them undue frustration from it.It was a poor call.
>>29506403It is in my experience. But Monologue ruined that.
Azure, the posts are repeating themselves.go look over your papers some more, maybe some last minute proof reading.it'd be a more productive use of your atm.keep on keeping on.
>>29506414It makes my responses easy to write at least.
>>29506407I think the problem with that was that Monologue taking up residence in Jager's head helped fuel the growing disconnect between player and QM of what Monologue represents.Like to me, he WAS the railroad lord.Acceptable for Risa due to her being so scatterbrained, but a completely unwelcome and unwanted intrusion for Jager. The displeasure in this thread was fueled by his unwarranted existence, like I felt he had no place being there and no right to make Jager do what we want her to do.
>>29506355>>29506414
>>29506371Yeah pretty much this is my thoughts on that. When one switches like that it's always best if there is limits based on their personality. Flexible limits yes but some form of it. Not everyone has seen all of Jager nor do they really see the internals that make her up.Leading to likely floundering about as a dozen anons go off in separate direction based on power gaming or how they view the character.
>>29506428And at the same time, I felt powerless to resist him, because of all the times you used HIM as the voice of reason to stop us from getting ourselves killed.Disobeying him seemed like suicide, which creates a weird kind of echo chamber effect.
>>29506433Go away kuroslut.
>>29506462make me
>>29506473she was one of the deciding factors on why I dropped Index/Railgun
>>29506428Sorry, but >no right to make Jager do what we want her to do.As stated above if it was just risa saying things for Jager to do players would have cried railroad and left. That was my major concern and has been for the last few threads.>>29506442Her basics are not overly complex. KIDS and FRIENDS. I did not account for new players at all as stated around 6 or 7 replies up.I thought players might bicker about the subtle things about her and help define her more as a character, but instead they wanted to go the totally different direction while as her and I gave the okay because agency etc. etc.>>29506454You can always tell him no. Monologue just says what happens. I do not recall using him to flat out deny player choices unless he was serving his job as plan double checker
>>29506486She stops showing up in the light novels. Haven't had to deal with her for more then a dozen volumes.
>>29506454Now this I've never really felt. I've always thought of Monologue as a very smart but separate entity from Risa. So I've never really felt that not going for what it wants would be suicide because who the hell knows what it wants? It could want Risa getting killed at the end for all we really know.
>>29506495Because we've been steering Risa for fifty thread. And having an enigmatic voice control Jager doesn't feel like agency. Because yeah Monologue just says what happens, but sometimes he says "you sure you wanna jump off this cliff?"His role as a plan double checker contradicts his role as an enforcer of the players whims, because it gives everything he says an air of legitimacy to it, because we think that everything he says has -already- been double checked.
>>29506500I also hate Index and Touma as well. Accelerator is kind a fag too.>>29506495I think one the guys screaming railroad was also the guy bitching about the drug trip way back when.Honestly, I think most of the threats of leaving and the quest dying are just hot air.
>>29506533>I also hate Index and Touma as well. Accelerator is kind a fag too.Oh. You're one of those guys that just followed the series for Misaka...
>>29506533Nah, I liked the drug trip and the world hopping. Thought AE should have stuck with his guns on those. And apparently what I was yelling about was instead absolute freedom, which just felt like nothing....Also I am not bluffing. Killing Jager kills my interest in the quest. And right now, she's looking pretty dead.
>>29506547they sold it to me as anime's X-men, what I got was magic hand boy punches he doesn't like.and Mikasa's boobs are 2 small for my tastes.haven't even watched railgun.
>>29506530Yes, and I am fading monologue out because of the agency issue.I have you total agency. It wasn't a mysterious voice, it was the players. Literally every choice was the players doing what they wanted and forcing the world to go along with it. You can not have any more agency than that. You could redefine a character just by how you played them. That isn't a lack of agency even sort of. The second you went against the character's behavior you had complete and total control. Agency means nothing to me anymore. People have abused it so much I now assume people mean it to say "Something happened that I don't like and the QM is at fault for writing it!"You probably are not that person, but the other anons ruined that word. It has no meaning now to me.>>29506558Players were very unhappy about the more nonsense and bitched about the word which has no meaning anymore. Fuck it, fine, it is dead. No more fun random trips super serious questan time now! Oops, time for people to be unhappy about that too. Let me just write an enjoyable scene where they- Nope! Railroad!Nothing I can do will make my players happy.I will be sure to announce if I am killing the quest on my twitter at least. I won't just drop out of sight totally.
>>29506495>>29506607AS a fellow QM that just finished reading this thread I have this to say:Never EVER let your players dictate the actions of an established NPC, even if its for an one shot. Your players will NEVER act in character. I'm not saying this to be mean, it's just my personal experience from running.Hell, most of the time they don't act IC for the protagonist, leading to him/her acting like a sociopath!
>>29506631Thanks for reading through and the advice.
>>29506607Dude, get some rest. It's the best thing to do right now.
>>29506607But that's wrong. You shouldn't let us warp reality according to whatever we want because we don't know what we want. Especially not with another character. And again, what monologue is was very unclear, especially because of that omake giving him a really sinister vibe. And you shouldn't stick with something every player would prefer you undo just because they can agree on it. That's what I mean by spiteful.
>>29506486I sort of liked her. She was annoying as hell but she was pretty cute in a "..would do." Sense.>>29506495Ah, I see now. Main issue is the average Anons are slightly scatter brained and thinking on what to do next in differing ways. For a shift like if you want the subtle things mainly ironed I would place some general flexible limits on the things she wouldn't do then let them argue on the middle ground. As for the player agency guys vs the railroading guys. Eh you can't please everyone in the end.Though I won't tell you how to run your game or anything.
>>29506631I'm pretty sure everyone can agree with this.Or at least take precautions when doing a one-shot.Like did you really think it was a good idea to let a handful of people have absolute control over our favorite character, despite the quality of our decisions in the previous couple threads?
>>29506648>And again, what monologue is was very unclearNo. Shut the fuck up already about that. What Monologue was doing was clear, you were just retarded.
>Want to leave because this is just painful to read >Can't look away from the metaphorical trainwreckWhy. Why do people keep saying the same things over and over again. Everyone is just getting more and more frustrated over it.
>>29506648It was supposed to give a sinister vibe. It was intended to be an interesting mystery to unravel and work through with shocking twists and turns and a satisfying conclusion which we could all have fun with. I wanted to have fun with it with the players. The answer to the last one is somewhere up there.>>29506673I really did like my players. I really wanted us all to have fun, you know? Make as many people happy as possible. It is uncomfortable when someone who says they have been around for a long time drops because of a reason and you think the reason is perfectly easy to fix. Then another, and another and, well. No, input is welcome. I am not much of a QM so I need all the help I can get just not tonight.>>29506676Yes, I did. I thought anon liked her so they would have at least a general understanding of what to do with her and to make her more powerful and help define her more to them.>>29506707I gave up trying to stop it.
>>29506716But we like her because she -isn't- us.She's pretty much as far from us as you can get. That's why you literally could not have chosen a worst time to decide our will is law. Because our will is Risa.
>>29506736Your will has always been law. You make the choices while being shown your goal. But that was too railroady. So then this happens.
>>29506736>>29506747When lucier says "Hey, can you do this?" You have had every option to say"No, fuck that. I am going to stare at birds for a few weeks."And that would have been okay. You would not have gotten closer to getting your plant back, but that's okay. There have been very few circumstances where you have 'had' to do something and even then it was a side effect of the natural progression of the story.
>>29506642This man is right. I am so fucking tired in every way possible. I am going to bed. Have a good night.
>>29506716>Yes, I did. I thought anon liked her so they would have at least a general understanding of what to do with her and to make her more powerful and help define her more to them.I know you're just going to say that you told us anything short of attacking wouldn't result in death, but people felt like this was a deadly situation. Behaving like Jager was "supposed to" have gotten us killed at any other part in the quest, and that paranoia transferred over to here.Is it your fault? I don't know. Probably not. Doesn't stop people from getting butthurt about it and blaming you because you're the most visible thing to blame.I'm not even sure what I'm talking about now. It's all just things.
>>29506747But there are appropriate and inappropriate times for everything. That includes railroads.Being inside another character's head when she has a firmly established personality is one of those. And again I must reiterate that deciding to go for power was anything but unanimous. That's why you're essentially putting your foot down on a bottomless pit.
>>29506769>That's why you're essentially putting your foot down on a bottomless pit.Oh for the love of fuck.
>>29506792You're right, that was uncalled for and I apologize.I should have said, you're mulling over your options, one of which is to put your foot down over a bottomless pit
>>29506716>It is uncomfortable when someone who says they have been around for a long time drops because of a reason and you think the reason is perfectly easy to fix.I handle that by pretty much saying "To hell with you."People will get annoyed when things don't feel right for them or the likes. But you have a lot of guys here in these threads most will want differing things. So in general someone will leave. On the other hand you get at least 500+ replies a game so you must be doing something right for people to enjoy it enough to stay when someone leaves. You are doing the correct thing by looking at what everyone wants but you can't have everything for everyone trying will just lead to things becoming unfun when one group doesn't like what happens. If they decide to leave due to how you want to play it then let them better to do that then let things become unfun for you.
>>29506841I can't really fathom how ruining Jager is fun for him at all though.
>>29506848I mean of course in a general sense. Once someone starts having issues with the style or the likes then I always say think calmly on what you feel is fun and best for the game then do it after hearing the others perspective on what they want. With this situation with samefagging and the likes it is a much harder decision due to precedent and the likes. On the other hand I say he shouldn't let himself be bothered by any one threatening to leave before he even decides what he wants to do.Letting that pressure you in a quest is generally a very bad idea I wouldn't suggest ever letting things like that factor into a decision because no matter what someone is going to be pissed. So after a certain point might as well just do what seems best and let those that leave just leave.
>>29505179Here.One more thing:Try making your posts a bit shorter? It feels like your posts have been getting progressivley longer over time and it might be one of the reasons people feel they have less options to intervene.Though I THINK wiping Monologue is a partial cure to this problem.>>29506765Good night Azure.Don't let this depress you.Ultimately, it must be you who has fun writing the quest, otherwise no one will be happy.Because anon is never happy.NEVER.
I kinda liked how depressing this thread was and i would like for it to not be retconned.
>>29506977I like the longer posts. And I like Monologue at least when we're playing as Risa.I don't like that we got into a game of poker with fucking Beezlebub. I don't like that the danger level of things is seemingly arbitrary most of the time. But really this is no time for advice. Everyone's upset and emotionally charged. This is not when you want people giving suggestions and it's not when you want people taking them.
Why people have such problems with changing character, its not that hard
