Last time on the adventures of the FABULOUS Unicorn Orcs, we had finished treating with the humans and halflings, gathering information on the Undead threat and deciding to back the non-evil races, a first for Orcish kind.
After some discussion we decided to make the Human Lake Town our HQ for the Anti-Undead Confederacy, using our workers to fortify it using resources supplied by the Halflings.

Now is the time to decide our next course of action, the Undead have yet to make a concentrated attack, focusing solely on night raids, so we could always try helping the Lizardmen with their Skaven problem...Or we can leave that alone for now, focusing on the Undead.

Great Relations with Unicorns now living in the valley, Good relations with Halflings living in a walled city on the plains to the east, decent relations with Lizardmen living in the swamps to the south east,
and cautious relations with humans living in a lake town to the north east.

Know of Undead living in the far north, Skaven living in the jungles to the south of the Lizards, a second group of Humans far to the east, and possible Elves in the forests to the west.

After burning down a few tents and earning a few nasty burns, they manage to adapt the substance so that it takes a bit of time to burst into flames, allowing archers to dip arrows into pots of the stuff.

You decide that it may be best to deal with the Skavens before the way with the Undead reaches full swing, and send a band of 20 standard Orcs along with a Berserker and an Earth Seer to meet with the Lizards.

Upon arrival at their ramshackle collection of wooden swamp huts, the Lizards inform you that the Skavens have been seen in clearings near the jungle city, chanting and performing some manner of rituals.
One Lizard offers the suggestion to try ambushing them while they are in the middle of a ritual, saying it is a good way to catch them off guard and score some easy kills.
Another says that this might not be a good idea, because who knows what our warriors might be interrupting...

We know the undead have at minimum, a couple of dozen humans that they turned, as well as some trolls. Of course, for them to turn the humans in the first place, they probably already had superior numbers. The horde couple number in the hundreds. As for the leaders, we know nothing about them.

Let's see if we can observe one in action then decide if we want to crash their party, or go raid their village. With fire arrows, even a few passing shots on their wooden defenses should be enough to cause damage before we attack in earnest.

The warband decides to send a few scouts to spy on the Skavens before doing anything else, hoping to discern the exact nature of these rituals.
They spend a day or two patrolling near the Skaven's stolen city, doing a fine job remaining hidden, and sometime during the second night are rewarded for their efforts.

In a clearing they spot a group of Skaven, ten of them, holding bizarre metal "torches" that emit a sickly green light..They are all standing in a circle around a black stone alter, where what seems to be a cross between a mage and a high priest chants and gestures, holding a ritualistic knife over what seems to be an Elven prisoner.
As a side note, the scouting band consists of 6 Orcs.

The first volley, with two Orcs targeting the high priest, manage to take down four of the rat bastards right when the priest is about to bring the knife down, for dramatic effect.
The bodies and magical torches fall to the ground as the remain rats glance around in a slight panic, but unfortunately for them the second volley comes, taking out three more of them and injuring another.

The remaining rats are caught completely off guard, and lacking any weapons on them asides from small daggers don't put up much of a fight at all as your warriors butcher them like pigs.

Once the deed is done the Orcs begin to secure the area, tying up the injured Rat and gagging his mouth.
Meanwhile the Elf, who seems to be a young female, remains chained to the altar.

The party proceeds to return to the Lizards with the Skaven prisoner in tow, but not before learning from the Elves that the Skaven's leader is a powerful Necromancer and Plague mage who by some means or another has made himself immortal.
They also send 5 Elven Rangers to accompany you.

Back with the Lizards, you tell them everything that has happened. The Lizards then tell you that they have finished gathering up their warriors and hunters, for a total of 50 battle ready soldiers.
So with that the total army consists of 22 orcs, counting the Earth Seer and Berserker, 50 Lizards, and 5 Elven Ranges.
Our warriors are armed with steel axes, shields, armor, and horn bows with fire arrows...The Lizards have obsidian Aztec swords, bone armor, and obsidian tipped bow and arrows. And the Rangers duel wield short swords, wear steel chain mail, and carry yew long bows.

B. Questioning doesn't take long then plan the attack to shove a fist in a rat.

He finally spits out the location of their supposedly immortal leader, saying that he had made his home in the largest and tallest pyramid in the city.

With that information in hand you put into motion the first part of the plan, having the Rangers sneak in close to the walls and coating a small section of it with the fire liquid.
They are successful for the most part, reaching the base of the wall while avoiding the eyes of those walking along the ramparts, and soon the section catches fire quickly begins to spread.
Unfortunately the Elves were seen when trying to sneak back to the army, and one is brought down by a bolt of necromantic energy.

As the wall continues to burn you send out your mounted Orc archers, raining fire arrows down on the walls and those hiding behind them.
They make several passes before the wall has burnt down enough to allow passage, showing clearly that the Skaven are mustering their Undead on the other side.

The Skaven Necromancers scattered amongst the Undead lob large globs of death and disease towards them, striking down a modest number of Lizards, but the Elves return the favor by snipering some of the dark mages.

The Lizards soon clash with the undead, tearing them apart with their viciously sharp blades, and your Orcs provide support with their flaming arrows, which prove especially effective against the Undead.

The conflict goes on for awhile before it becomes clear that the Skaven are running out of Undead, those that are left fleeing back into the depths of the city.

Your Orcs fire a volley of flaming arrows at the chanting Leader, some of which fall short and hit some of his followers, but several arrows slam into him and set his hair ablaze...But he simply laughs and yells.

The band makes a swift decision, ordering a single Orc to run back and tell the others what is going on inside the pyramid. Then with that done, they all charge at the skeletal dragon, attempting to delay it while the others come up with a plan.

Lizard and Orc alike fight valiantly, in a way that is remembered in songs and legends, however armed with simple and mostly mundane weapons they won't last for too long...

While in the end victory was costly, especially for the Lizardmen, the Skaven's have been completely wiped out and their "Leader" is sealed away underground...And one can hope that he will remain that way for a long time.

The Lizardmen announce that they rebuild the pyramid, and work towards developing runes and seals to help keep the dragon sealed, and leave to go gather their people so they can move back into their now reclaimed city.

The Elf Rangers head back to where they came as well, agreeing to take an Orc along with them to serve as an emissary. They also promise to speak with the cousins in the western forests, to try and prevent further deaths between your two peoples,..

...And of course, as promised before the Lizardmen allow you to take home a healthy portion of the treasure and loot found in the city, granting your people a sizable horde of gold, gems, and jewelry.
