The thread is slow, and I'll read the other threads, but give me a synopsis of what's happened. Approximately which season's rules are we following?

Well, us and our sickly friend who is a girl got digimon, got messaged to come here cuz the digiwold is dying, beat up some ghosts, met a russian, went through a portal and climbed mount olympus.

As for rules, seems to lean towards seasons 1-3, but our digimon seem to stay at evolution levels, rather than reverting.

The goddess of love looks about the table, before lifting her own goblet, a smile upon her lips.

“And that, my friends, my family...is something I can drink to.”

Apollo leans back in his chair, chuckling.

“Well, at the very least, you have the will for it, boy.” He turns to your fellow human, and you can see Zoe flinch slightly, before resting a hand on Aslan’s head, the stoic lion giving her a boost in morale.

“I’m...not special, either. I’m not all that wise, and I don’t have the strength to stand up on my own sometimes…but like Wayne said; someone thinks I can help, and they need my help. So if there’s anything I can do, I-I want to make sure I at least try!” Her expression has changed from nervousness and trepidation to an oddly quiet determination, something you find seems to fit your friend more than any other look. “If I don’t, I...I don’t think I’d be able to go back home. Not when I could have made a difference.”

The beast-man digimon is quiet for a while, looking between the two of you while the rest seem to be waiting for something. Then, he looks to the rest of the table, and grins.

“Well, I like ‘em!” He declares. “They’ve got the will, and they’ve got the favor of more than one god already!” Dianamon rolls her eyes at her sibling’s behavior, before looking pointedly at the two of you.

“You may like them, brother, but do they understand what they’re asking of us? Do they understand just how beyond saving this world is?” Her cold tone and posture ruin what normally might be elegance and grace personified, and her glare just screams that she’s looking to argue.

I'm not really sure what to say to that. Like the truth is that we really don't know what happened here, she's not wrong in saying that.

While it's okay to say as a matter of principle that you should never stop fighting to protect what is precious for you, it has more weight if we understand the extent of what we're up against.

Even if that doesn't change our response, it'll still be more meaningful then automatically going all "pierce the heavens".

You really don’t like how she said ‘beyond saving.’ When things are beyond saving, that generally means they can’t be saved, and saving it appears to have been made you job.

“You’re right.” You say, voice even in your honesty. “We don’t understand.” The goddess of the moon lifts a brow, as if she wasn’t expecting you to concede. “And that’s why we must ask you to help us understand. We don’t know how or why things are the way they are, and that right there is the greatest obstacle to accomplishing our goal there will ever be.”

“And even if that’s true,” Zoe speaks up, flinching when Diana turns her piercing gaze upon her as well. “E-even if nothing has worked so far, don’t you think giving up is even worse? You’re...you’re condemning this world, and it hasn’t given up on you, yet, has it?” Your human friend looks around the table, now aware that all eyes are on her, but continues to speak anyway. “Giving up hope isn’t any better than laying down and...and waiting to die.” She slumps a bit, head hanging. “I-I’m sorry if I spoke out of turn, but...it had to be said.”

You don’t know if you’ve ever been more proud of Zoe.

Especially when you see the effect her words had-

Dianamon’s eyes are wide, and she seems frozen in place. For a moment, you’re a bit worried that she’ll be angry, but it seems she’s more surprised than anything else. “Laying down and waiting to die…?” She echoes, incredulous. Then, her expression seems to soften slightly, and her gaze becomes more contemplative. “Yes, perhaps that’s true.” The silver and blue armored digimon turns back to you, her aggression now seemingly reigned in some.

“You wanted to understand why we’d given up hope? Why we’ve resigned ourselves to this slow death?” Hesitantly, you nod. “Because this calamity is not merely a blight on our realm.”

“It is a disease upon the World Tree Yggdrasil.”

Apparently she's listed both ways, but it seems weird to me for her to actually be weaker than she is as Minervamon.

I'm hoping for Liollmon>Lynxmon>Mihiramon>Gryphonmon as the best line to remain feline(or at least partially in Gryphonmon's case) without involving any more Leomon connection than we already have.
