>Year - Roughly 25,000 BC

In our last session we played as Aaki, a fire-carrier for a tribe as they made their way south in search of warmer lands. They met up with another tribe who were walking north, also in search of warmer lands. Negotiations were very short and fighting quickly engulfed both tribes.

Thanks for some very skillful rolling, Aaki, and his tribe, managed to (mostly) survive. The old tribe leader perished and Aaki was made leader in his stead.

So now we've got a small tribe, who have settled in an outcropping in the middle of a forest. There's plenty of animals around, the sea is a short journey away, to the north east. We've got a few mountains in the north-west, and oh yeah, we've got domesticated wolves for pretty much every family.

We're gonna run things a little bit differently in this session. Think Nation Builder, but without a map because I'm shit at drawing. Remember, we're in the Stone Age, so pick a suitable first name, and a suitable tribe name (Blackfoot, Longbeard, etc) as your name and basically just choose what you want to do.

This can either go gloriously, or it will all crash and burn straight away.

Stupid 4chan and its crappy broken server.

Anyway, if you're up for participating I'll need the following info:

>Name
>Location (near mountains, near sea, etc)
>Profession

You'll have 3 actions to do every 'turn', just say what you want to do, roll 3d100's (higher is better) and that will determine your success.

Once everyone's rolled, I'll try and do an update post linking it all together nicely.

So Protofag there has to pick a caveman first name, for example Glug, and he'll be known as Glug Wolfwalker.

We are changing to a civlike game for now. Players will control different characters and build our civilization.
>>
It's been a few years since Aaki formed the tribe and situated their village in a small forest near the sea. Since managing to domesticate the local wolves, the tribe has flourished by using these new animals to help them in their hunts.

Many other smaller tribes, groups and solitary wanderers have stumbled upon this place, and Aaki has greeted them with open arms and welcomed them into the fold.

Due to these new visitors, and the fact that the first tribe was composed of two vastly different tribes, the mixture of skin colours, professions, names and culture is truly mind-boggling.

In this session, the actions of certain individuals will influence the direction that the tribe is taken in, and hopefully make it flourish.

After a particularly dry season a lot of the crops and plants around are withering up, animal herds are moving further and further away, and food is becoming slightly more difficult to find.

>Time for actions.
>Choose 3 things that you want to do, they can be personal things, or stuff that will help the tribe.
>Roll 3d100, each of these will apply to the actions you've chosen.
>Let's see how this goes.

Oh, and any new players can join in whenever they want.

You manage to find two apprentices that want to learn your ways of healing, and one apprentice who wants to tame the wolves as good as you.

You don't find any plants around the area that the dogs specifically react to, but you manage to make them recognise a specific wooden carving that you carry around with you. Perhaps you can make more of these and give them to your apprentices?

>>29252070
You only manage to find two men that wish to hunt, all the others have plenty of dried food stored up from the past couple of months. Nevertheless, you manage to get a decent amount of food, that will last you for the next month or so (2 turns).

>>29252071
You purchase a wooden shaft, with a sharp round stone fixed to the end of it, from Thurg Stonesmasher, the local 'blacksmith'. After journeying for a few days, you manage to find a group of women wandering around, protected by two teenage boys. You brutally slaughter the boys and take the women back to your own hut, for much snoo-snoo.

The tribe women don't complain much, I mean, you are putting a roof over their heads and feeding them. Snoo-snoo successful, although you're not particularly good at it. You also wander out of the forests to find more nomadic tribes, unfortunately your antics have caused a few rumours to be spread, and a lot of travellers are staying well away from your area.

>>29252207
You manage to get your two finest wolves to breed with a few bitches, it will take a while for any offspring to appear, but your breeding program is underway! You manage to whittle up a totem for your wolf-taming apprentice, the totam is just a small stick man with a crudely shaped wolfs head. Your attempts to create a ranged weapon fail miserably, the tribe has access to them, so you may have to pay a visit to someone and get them to make you one.

>>29252208
Scraps manages to get a good number of fish to tide him over for a few weeks, unfortunately pickings are slim on the shore.

>>29252228
You damn near lose your wolves when you tell them to go so far away from you, you won't be trying that again in a hurry. Your exploration into the woods fails, due to a combination of fear and incredible bad luck. You find some long-movers on the outskirts of the deep forest, but you have no idea how to harvest their venom.

>I'm assigning each player a food and wealth value. You will spend wealth when you buy things, accumulate it when you sell things, and use up food every turn. Coming up in next post.

It's a fairly successful trip, even if there's just one of you. You leave the tribe for a few days and come back dragging two dead deer behind you. You are able to dry the meat and skins out and add them to your supplies. If you want to sell the skins, that's up to you.
>-2 food for eats
>+5 food from deer

>>29252335
Scraps knows how to keep fish fresh, just needs to dry them out over a fire, same as regular meat. Whilst wandering the shores you find a huge rock, the size of your fist, that glitters in the sunlight and dazzles all who see it. Surely someone would pay big bucks for this!
>-0.5 food

>>29252336
It's a sad day for the Darkdog tribe, you fail to find any sellers of ranged weapons, your quest for herbs fails miserably on the slopes of the mountain and thanks to a particularly nasty encounter with a pack of sabre-tooth tigers, who were hunting the deer you and your wolves were tracking, you lose your wolf-taming apprentice and one of your wolves. (2 wolves left, also you'll need to feed them like you would people)
>-1.5 food for people
>-1 food for wolves

>>29252359
Your attempts to confine the snakes works, without any major injuries! You manage to discuss the poison with Bark Darkdog, one of the healers in the area, and he tells you that you must pry open their mouths carefully and 'milk' the venom from them. Your hunting expedition goes very well, and you return with a number of smaller animals.

You start to train the women in the art of stick and rock. They take to the spears like fish to water, but they are absolutely horrific with bows and the like. Thanks to a close call, in which you nearly lost a foot, you decide to take the bows off them and focus on having them in a more defensive role. You end up with three, sexy female bodyguards, you lucky thing you. Your hunting, as always, goes very well and you bring back another deer, along with a small selection of woodland creatures back to your home.

WORLD EVENT
Aaki summons everyone to the center of the village and address the entire tribe.

"Many moon ago, white tribe and dark tribe became one." Aaki looks over the tribe as they sit before him, listening to his every word.

"Dark tribe attack us, we win and join tribes to live. Dark tribe we found was small part of big dark tribe. Big dark tribe now come to our land to take back people." Aaki looks worried as he addresses the tribe, various members look at each other and whisper to themselves.

"All tribe people need to help to keep tribe alive. See Krash if you help." Aaki points to a large warrior next to him, Krash is the leader of the tribes warriors. He is dark skinned and has a massive, braided ponytail hanging down his back. A large, crescent shaped scar adorns his chest.

You stand around for a few days, contemplating the life, universe and everything in it. Not sure what you think about, but it must be good, seeing as you rolled so high.
>-0.5 food

>>29252677
You promise Scraps a pet wolf when the females give birth. Scraps seems to like this idea a lot. Your wolf/shortbow combo seems to work quite well, you're able to injure the animals from a distance and set the wolves on them. Your apprentices secure a good amount of food in return for the various numbing plants that you have found, and your recent searches yields more of these plants, along with some purple coloured berries that leave a minty taste in your mouth, and give you very fresh breath. You'll be pretty good with the ladies from now on.

You skin and gut the animals with much grace and poise. Your self-inflicted training regime also benefits you and your harem of warrior-women, they'll be fit to tackle the dark tribe menace soon enough. Unfortunately the wonders of chest-shell armour have been lost to the ages, and we're a few thousand years away from even the most basic leather armour. No armour for you.

>>29252716
Your fishing expedition yields a mighty bounty as you drag, basically, a school of fish back to your home. You set about drying them and saving them for the war. You have no idea how to go about making this fishing net though, you know you'll need a lot of rope, but that's about it. You also take your gem to the 'blacksmith' who doesn't want to touch the gem in fear of breaking it.

>Don't post until I do the next one. It throws me off.
>>
>>29252721
You start to craft your snake-holding mechanism, but the finer details elude you, and you just end up with a long stick with a few bits of rope hanging off the end. You find a bow maker, but his wares aren't the best, so you decide to wait until you find the very best the tribe has to offer. You plan on building some traps for the tribe, to defend if the dark skins start to invade, but based on your current level of skill with the snake holder, you pretty much give up straight away.

Search for the best bow of the best bowmaker and buy it.
Spend all that is left of my wealth(except bows cost) on improving basic equipment of me and my two loyal men. Better bowsand arrows for them, sharp bone knives for all of us, and wooden shortspears with stone/bone spearheads to use when target is too close for bows.

>-0.5 food

Your puppies have arrived! One of them is solid black, whilst the other is black with patches of grey around its face. They are already quite strong and you can tell they will grow up to be fine wolves. Scraps can take whichever one you want to give away (let me know). Your apprentices fail to secure any food this time, and you are left with a large quantity of numbing herbs. You can chew them into a paste and apply them to your arrows, spears and the like, but what good is causing wounds if the enemy can't feel them?

After drying all the fish away you get back to work on your net. After a few days of trying to finally manage to craft the blasted thing! A large square, big enough to catch lots of fish, yet small enough for one man to use, with a large net consisting of small ropes intertwined with each other. This is going to speed things up massively! You also turn your gem into a bitching necklace, which tends to attract the attention of a lot of women around the tribe.
>-0.5 food

>>29252958
You manage to create a snake venom-milker and it works without a hitch! You have a large supply of snake venom and manage to turn it into a gloopy mess to apply on your arrows! Using your vast wealth, you manage to secure a few men under your command, and arm them with enough bows, arrows, spears and sticks to make them a real threat. Bone spears, carved flint arrowheads, the lot.

You mean first person Ouroboros Quest (chapters 1-4) or was is a completely different quest?
>>
>>29253244
Chapter 1-4. Don't get me wrong, This is your quest and you should run it as you seem fit. Kudos for trying to mix things up. I just enjoyed the 4 first threads more.
>>
>>29253273
I know, this is just a temporary change. I just wanted to see how it went.

We're always going to stick with first person, so don't worry, we're back to that in the next session. I share your feelings though, I like the inter-character reactions, but I'm not used to nation builder quests (and it probably shows), maybe I'll return back to this style further down the line for another reincarnation.

The skies darken and the ground shakes as the Dark Skinned tribe march their combined forces towards the relatively peaceful tribe of Aaki.

The warriors of the tribe have fashioned crude helmets out of skulls, giving them a deathly appearance, and have painted white markings all over their body. It seems as though the legions of the undead are at your very doorstep.

They infiltrate from every direction, sneaking into the forests, across the rivers and down the mountains. When the fighting starts, it is all out war between the entirety of the two tribes.

Hang Wolfskin's snake venom is incredibly potent, and fells a vast number of tribesmen, even if they survived the initial onslaught. A fast acting poison, it severs the nerve connections and causes paralysis, along with a painful death. Hang survives the attack, and flees to an unspecified location.

Bark Darkdog unleashes his wolves, which immediately cause havok among the warriors. Bark, having fashioned totems for his tribe, manages to avoid a number of friendly casualties. His knowledge of the numbing herbs also helps the tribes warriors get back on their feet quickly, even if it is their fate to die a few minutes later. Bark manages to escape the fray as well, but unfortunately has to sacrifice his wolves in order for his own safety.

Proto, and his harem of muscly Amazons, decimate any attackers that tread near his home. Unfortunately they're not so good at attacking, so Proto and his angels are driven further and further into their cave, and ultimately suffer an untimely death.

Green Rippedbark slays a huge number of warriors with his mighty axe, seemingly in defence of his enormous oak log. Rippedbark dies a brutal death, being dismembered and scattered along his beloved trunk.

Treebranch Woodlocker continues to contemplate the universe, right up until the point an arrow enters his left eye and penetrates right through hit frontal lobe.

Scraps Shorelooter hears the conflict from a mile away and, using his vast wealth as leverage, secures a number of women, along with a few resources and manages to craft a large raft in order to sail across the sea in front of his home.

>Sorry to cut it so short, couple of problems have occurred over here.
