You sigh.

Today was a repeat of yesterday. Tomorrow will be a repeat of today. Nothing ever changes on this little island of yours. This endless cycle feels like it is going to swallow you up. Even your frustration has become mundane. Once again, you missed the train on your way back home from classes. Normally you would wait for the next train to arrive, but decide to break the monotony by taking the bus at the station.

You climb aboard the bus and fling some cash for the driver, not even bothering to give him a second glance. Too exasperated to care, you grab the first open seat you see, right by the back left wheel, and prop your arm up on the window sill. Your mind wanders to how Professor Earl decided to rant about the UN Security Bill so much that Ramos, the groundskeeper, had to take him out of the room.

You begin to doze off.

"Hey, Captain," a voice reaches your ears, "You late too?"

Huh? Captain? You open your eyes and locate the voice. The dark hair and eyes aren't very memorable, but you the plaid skirt and tan blazer are part of your school's uniform. If she recognizes you, she must be one of your classmates. Her name was...what was her name again? You don't really talk much with your peers so you tend to forget.

This little surprise is throwing you off your game, but maybe you better say something...

>Ask what she meant whens she called you Captain
>Give a non-committal stock response
>Don't say anything, you don't even remember her name.
>>

>>Ask what she meant whens she called you Captain

also, late? We're just on the bus.
>>
>Ask what she meant when she called you Captain
"What? You don't know?"
You shake your head.
"That's your nickname! No matter what's going on at school, you're always the very first one out the door and past the gates. You're practically the leader of the Go-Home Club, so everybody just calls you Captain. The whole school knows by now."
Oh. Well, that's just wonderful. Thank you for the information miss...
"Ah, don't tell me that you forgot me? We've only been in the same class two years running now! Seriously, get it together, Captain!"
She places her hands on her hips and looks at you sternly.
"I'm Manaka. Manaka Ayase! You can call me by either name, I don't mind, but don't forget me again!"
Satisfied, Ayase sets her bag down on the seat beside you and begins to chat.
>>
>>29217144
"Geez, it seems like my timing's been off all day. First I had this endless club meeting, plus old Earl wanted me to help him out with copying papers, and then next thing you know I missed the train. Was your day like that too, Captain? God, that's horrible! How can you miss the train when you're the first one out? Guess we're both unlucky, huh?"

This girl can talk up a storm. Without even waiting for your response, she picks up her bag and takes the seat next to you.

"Mind if I sit with you? Look, it's already so crowded."

You weren't really given a chance to object, so you just keep your mouth shut as she begins to prattle on again.

"Um, okay, so I don't know if it's cool to talk about this, but I overheard that there's a guy in our class that likes me! Do you know him? What's he like? Is it Chet, please say it's Chet!"

She looks at you, completely overwhelming you with the stream of inane drivel coming out of her mouth. You didn't even notice, but the bus has already made several stops by the time she's finished talking. It looks like she's expecting a response from you so maybe you better say something...

>You don't know anything about this guy who likes her.
>Claim to be her secret admirer.
>Look for a chance to get off this bus early.
>>
>>29217169
>>You don't know anything about this guy who likes her.

You are captain of the Go-Home Club. Not knowing the local gossip is one of your most important responsibilities. You have to set a good example for the other members, after all.
>>
>>29217284
I like this
>>
>>29217284

>>
>You don't know anything about this guy who likes her
You look for an opportunity to declare your utter and complete ignorance on all matters of who-likes-who but the driver suddenly leaning on the bus's horn grabs your attention. You rise from your seat and look out the front window as best as you can. There's someone standing in the road, completely still. You watch as the bus driver keeps blaring the horn and throws on the breaks, but even you can tell it is too late.

That person is going to get run over.

You try to avert your eyes, but something keeps your gaze focused on this figure. You can't make much of anything out about them, it's like your eyes refuse to focus, but you see them raise their hand up.

Before you know it, the bus is rocked by an explosion, and topples over. You fall over, crashing into the window on the side. You feel shattered glass fly into your face. The wind is knocked from your lungs. The seat in front of you collapses inward, crushing your arm. You can feel heat. Through your hazy vision, you can see fire crawling up the side of the overturned bus. You try to move, but you feel your strength and consciousness leaving you.

Ah.

You're going to die.

You're going to die here in this bus.

It's just a fact. There's nothing you can do about it anymore. You don't even feel afraid.
As your vision fades, all you can hear is Ayase whimpering.

You have one final thought before you finally black out.

You don't want to die.
>>
>>29217874
Suddenly, you awake, staring at a sterile, white ceiling. The beeping of a heart monitor and the low hum of fluorescent lights let you know that you're probably in a medical facility of some kind. Your mind is suddenly assaulted with memories from the explosion. Frantically, you sit up in your bed and begin checking your body.

You're perfectly fine.

You know you were cut by glass at the very least, and your arm should have been broken. And what about all that fire?

"Ah, you're awake."

A voice from the hallway calls out to you. You see a man, probably in his thirties, in a black suit and tie. His hair seems messy, as if he just got out of bed, but his eyes couldn't be more alert. He strides over to your bed and takes a seat beside you.

"I bet you have lots of questions, don't you?"

>Ask about Ayase

>>
>>29217903
We have all the questions. Did we just get suicide bombed?
>>
>>29217903
You throw out question after question in rapid fire. This is just all too much for you to comprehend right now, you need answers. The man chuckles before reaching over and picking up the remote on the dresser by your bed.

"Why don't we get started with the most important part, shall we?"

He presses a few buttons on the remote. The TV in the corner turns on and begins displaying a picture of an overturned bus, covered in flame. You recognize that bus...

"Feel familiar? Yes, that is the very same bus you were in shortly after the incident. Just keep watching..."

You return your eyes to the monitor. There is a scream, then the bus is torn open from the inside. A large, clawed hand peels away the steel and fibreglass and then a figure steps out. Thick, black skin covers its arms and legs, each of which end in wickedly sharp claws. In its arms, it is carrying Ayase, who is covered in dust and blood.

The figure, that monster, looks up into the camera. Its eyes are golden and slitted, and its otherwise human mouth is lined with sharp fangs. It bellows out a single roar before falling over.

This would be too much to handle even in normal circumstances, but what makes it even worse is...

"Yes. That was you."

You turn to protest, but he cuts you off.

"To explain everything would take some time, but for now, just know that you have been infected with something we call the Renegade, and it has become active within you. That power you showed on that bus and the fact that you are alive right now marks you as what we call an Overed."

You stop and look down at your hands. They seem perfectly normal to you.

"Don't worry if it doesn't make sense right now. All you need to know is that your classmate, Miss Ayase, is fine. You saved her. Unfortunately, you two were the only ones that survived. Now, I need to ask you a very important question: Would you be willing to help others, like you helped Miss Ayase today?"

You look down. You don't even know what to say.

"Don't you think that's enough, Chairman Yugo?"

A new voice. In strides a young woman, dressed in a white vest and black skirt. The heels of her shoes make a sharp click on the ground as she strides, and her pale blond hair is full of soft waves. Simply put, she's probably one of the prettiest women you've ever seen, but you find yourself looking more at the shocking red tie she has on. Its color seems unnatural, like it is almost glowing...

"Chief, please, don't you have any sense of romance? This is the heroic moment every boy dreams of!"

The man, now identified as Yugo, turns to you and winks.

"Romance or not, Chairman, the UGN does not condone such strong-arm tactics. At least now while I'm in charge of this Island. Now unless you're going to give me an executive order, I'd like you to see yourself out while I speak to our guest."

Yugo scratches his head and gets up.

"Guess I struck out, huh? Alright, alright, I'll let you take it from here, Chief."
>>
>>29218945
Might mean we get to leave even earlier then.
>>
>>29218959

Yugo waves and leaves the room while the young woman takes a seat beside you. She opens up a manilla folder and begins leafing through some documents.

"I hope you'll excuse our Branch Chairman. He's a little...eccentric. Now then, let's begin this properly. I am the Chief of this Island's branch of the UGN, the Universal Guardian Network. We are an organization that seeks to facilitate the incorporation of Overeds into human society, and furthermore protect humans from anti-social or violent acts made by Overeds. We believe today's attack was orchestrated by False Hearts, a terrorist organization comprised totally of Overeds, although we do not know the reason. The attack triggered your latent powers, and thanks to that, both you and your classmate are unharmed. You do not need to reply about joining us just yet, as we would need an evaluation and surveillance period first, as well as compulsory education and training. If you have any questions about our organization or your condition, I suggest you answer now before we begin the trial period. I have very little time and much to do."

You flinch when the woman mentions 'human society'. Aren't you still human? In any case, it seems that now is the time to get some real answers.

>Ask about those terrorists.

Mostly, you just want to know when you can go home.

"I suppose that is normal. You did just die today. Very well, you will be discharged in a few hours, to go home as you please. However, there are some caveats."

She holds up a black-gloved finger.

"First. You may not tell anyone of your powers, the UGN, Renegade, or the attack. The eyewitnesses as well as your classmate have all had their memories rewritten to cover up this incident, therefore you may not discuss it with them either. Violating this means that we must wipe their memories again and bring you into custody, something I would rather avoid."

Wait, they erased memories? What powers do these people have.

"Second, you may not leave the Island for any reason. You are under my jurisdiction now, and any unauthorized attempt to leave will be treated as an attempt to flee. You will be killed. Permanently, this time."

You don't think she's joking, so you simply nod your head.

"Very good. Now, we still must put you under surveillance. Tomorrow, you will be joined by a member from our UGN Children's Unit. This agent will be incorporated into your daily life and keep surveillance on you. They will be given full authorization to monitor all your activities and to make judgement calls regarding your status as an Illegal Overed. Should you violate any of our restrictions, you can expect them to act accordingly."

You're not sure you like the sound of any of this. As the woman gets up to leave, you feebly ask if there is a cure to whatever it is you've got. She turns around and locks eyes with you. Her green eyes feel like they're going to cut straight through to your soul.

"No. There is no going back."

With that, she exits your room, leaving you with nothing but the sound of equipment and your own thoughts.

True to her word, in a few hours, you are released and head back to your house. It's empty as usual. Your parents both work overseas in the mainland, leaving you here to fend for yourself in a house far too large for one person. There's very little in the way of decoration or personal touches. You couldn't even describe your house as particularly neat or dirty. This is just where you go to do your assignments, to eat, and to sleep.

Despite today's events, you go through your normal routine after returning home. You change out of your uniform into your sleepwear, you have a bowl of cereal for dinner, you do your homework, and finally, you go to bed. You only hope that this is some elaborate prank on the Captain of the Go-Home club, but a gnawing feeling at the back of your mind tells you otherwise.

------
You almost don't notice getting dressed and heading to school, still caught up in yesterday's haze. You are face down on your desk, waiting for the bell for first period, when finally acknowledge someone speaking to you.

"Hello! Earth to Captain!"

Oh. It's Ayase. You look at her and she seems fine enough. A few band-aids and a bruise seems to be all she got from yesterday's troubles.

"So, like, wow! Yesterday was sure something, huh? Imagine the bus flipping over due to a blowout! Crazy right? I can't believe you're already okay!"

You try not to groan.

Hoping to change the subject, you ask her if she got her homework done.

"Whaaat? Of course I did. You helped me, remember? That was SO nice of you."
She claps her hands together and smiles.

That smile is far too bright for your tastes.

"I thought you were just a slacker, Captain, but it turns out you know your stuff. So let me tell you something good, to pay you back, I'm going to talk you up to all the girls I know!"

You're not sure that would be particularly helpful anymore...

"Hey! What's that face for, do you not expect results? I'll have you know that I know plenty of cute girls that haven't been taken yet."

You start to ignore Ayase, this conversation clearly going nowhere good. Professor Earl takes his place at the head of the classroom, and clears his throat.

"Alright, jackasses, sit down and shut up. We got ourselves some important announcements today."

The class mumbles an unenthusiastic 'yessir' and takes their seats.

"So, the department of education decided to make my life more difficult and add more of you little ingrates to my workload, so shut up for the introduction."

A young man walks into the room, wearing your school's uniform. If you had to comment on him, he almost looks more unremarkable than you do. Not a single thing from his hair to his shoes stands out in any way. He writes his name on the board.

"I'm Harold Yeager. My parents came to this Island to work, so there you have it."

"Good. Go take that seat back by the filing cabinets."

Harold nods and quietly takes his seat. He seems to be glaring at you and Ayase.

"Alright, next!"

A girl comes in, again already in your school's uniform. Her expression is cold, immediately upon entering the room, her eyes snap to you. You feel a chill run up your spine, but you shake it off.

"I am Claire Yamabushi," She begins to write her name on the chalkboard, finally averting her eyes from you, "I came here from California to live with friends of the family due to the impending messy divorce of my parents."

Wait what? You look around the classroom and it's clear that you're not the only one who thought that sounded weird. Still, you try to play it off and seem as disinterested as possible.

"Alrighty, miss Too-Much-Information. Go sit behind Sir Slacks-a-Lot back there and keep your trap shut."

The girl takes her seat behind you. You can feel her stare joining Yeager's.The class begins to whisper with anticipation and gossip already.

You feel incredibly uncomfortable.

"Class is starting now! Shut the hell up!"

Hours pass and it is finally lunch period. Normally, you go eat in a stall in the bathroom. You like your privacy. However, it might be time to change that with these new people in the room.

You decide to go eat in the bathroom anyway. You need something familiar to calm yourself down.

After making a quick stop at the vending machine to get yourself a pre-packaged egg-salad sandwich and a bottle of milk, you head to the rarely used men's bathroom on the third floor.

Just like always, you head down to the last stall, lock the door behind you, put the lid down, and have a seat on the throne.

Ahh, so familiar, so comfortable.

You unwrap your sandwich and begin to eat. You've been so hungry all day, you almost bought two sandwiches, but your budget doesn't allow for such frivolous spending. As you begin to chase down the processed egg with a swig of lukewarm milk, there is a loud banging at the stall door.

"Hey! I know you're in there!"

Shit...it's the new guy. Yeager. What does he want?

You call out to him through the door, telling him that you're not decent at the moment.

"Oh for Christ's sake...Listen up, because I'm only going to say this once."

He sounds serious. You can see his feet on the other side of the door planted firmly. He probably won't leave until he gets this off his chest. Might as well pretend to listen to him.

"Okay, so, I haven't been here long but I heard you and Manaka have been talking a lot recently. I want to tell you to back off."

You're flabbergasted. Does he really think you and Ayase are doing anything? You'd forgotten her name up until yesterday. You tell him that you don't even like Ayase.

"What did you say about Manaka!? You don't like her!? I don't buy that. I already heard her talking about you!"

Great, he's one of these guys. You try to clear up the misunderstanding, telling him you didn't mean it like that.

"Of course you didn't! She's a goddamn angel and you better stay the hell away from her. No talking. No phone calls. No emails. Nothing!"

You tell him not to worry. You're the least interesting man in the universe.

"You better be telling the truth or I swear to God--!"

There's a thunking sound, and you see a blade stick through the stall door. Startled, you drop your sandwich onto the dirty floor. Completely paralyzed by fear, you don't move until Yeager leaves the bathroom.

You lean in to look at the blade. It's got a black blade, probably some of that tacticool bullshit. You reach out to touch it, but as soon as you do, it crumbles to dust.

This could be more serious...maybe you should rethink this whole thing.

You decide that you can't really run away from this, so you head back to class. You take a seat, trying to avoid directly looking at Ayase for fear of Yeager and his mysterious disappearing blades.

Still grieving over your lost sandwich, you are reminded of just how damn hungry you are. You feel like you haven't eaten for days. The smells from everybody's various lunches aren't helping. The smell is so strong you can almost taste them already. Fred's casserole, Lily's sandwich, the deviled eggs in the corner and...and...something smells incredible.

You follow the smell and see Claire, the other new addition to your class, eating what looks to be a sliced beef brisket, drenched in barbecue sauce. How...how did she smuggle that in here? It still looks fresh and warm too. You feel yourself drooling, and move to cover your mouth.

"Ah, Captain," Claire immediately looks back at you. Her expressionless face holds the meat meer inches from her mouth. It's not fair. It's not fair!

"You look hungry, Captain."

Damn right you're hungry. But, but wait. Why do you care so much? Some days you forget to eat at all. This shouldn't be a big deal. You shake your head and try to waive her off.

"That's a shame, Captain. I had extra. I thought I should share with my new neighbour and perhaps deepen our bonds as fellow schoolmates and friends who are in the springtime of their lives. But if you say you are not hungry, perhaps I shall simply eat it all myself. I am a growing girl who needs her nutrition."

Damn, you're hungry. But you know better than to trust her. But you're so damn hungry.

...No! You're better than that! You quickly turn away from her and clutch your stomach. The rumbling in your stomach gets louder and louder as you hear her eating behind you. It's like she's making it loud on purpose. This is gonna drive you crazy if it keeps up.

Eventually, the meal ends, and Claire gives a small burp. You're covered in sweat, shaking from the pain. You look behind you to see Claire wiping her mouth with a napkin.

"Pardon me," her face is a blank mask, you can't tell if she's just being cruel to you or if this is just how she is, "I must have had too much to eat."

This bitch!

Eventually, school lets out. True to your namesake, you are the first one out of the door. However, you have more than just your personal disinterest in a healthy school life spurring your steps today. You have fear of getting caught up in something much, much bigger than yourself.

At least one of those new students was probably the UGN agent. That means they probably already know where you live. You idly wonder if it would be best to go home straight away like you always do, or maybe go kill some time elsewhere.

You haven't been to an arcade in forever. Now's a good time to start that old habit back up.
You walk the eight or so blocks it takes to get to the arcade and sit down at a booth in the back corner. Something feels different about the place, but it looks like they still have your old favorites here: Road Brawler, Idolc@ster Arcade Edition, and Magical Fairy Bullet Hell.

While you wonder about which you'll play, you make a startling discovery. You're out of change. Sighing, you pull out a bill and head to the register to go exchange it for coins. You don't even look at the cashier while you slide the bill forward.

"Yes, Captain. I'll have these changed for you right away."

Wait...

You look up and Claire is standing behind the counter. The normal cashier is asleep in a chair, leaning up against the wall. Claire holds out the coins for you.

"Well, are you not going to take them? Didn't you want to play games? Your file said you frequently visited this place."

What? That was almost ten years ago!

"Was it? Does that matter? You did come here to play, didn't you?"

So much for hiding.

You take the coins, resigning yourself to this cruel fate.

Sitting down at the Magical Fairy Bullet Hell game, you begin to zone out. Watching the shrine maiden Reika dash up and down the screen, narrowly dodging bullets arranged in intricate patterns seems to calm you down greatly. You almost forget how you're practically dying of hunger.

"Are you still hungry, Captain? I can help you with that."

You shut her out and keep playing. After a while, though, you look around. There's nobody else in the arcade. Only the cashier is here, and he's out cold. Your confusion must have been written on your face, because Claire speaks up.

"Warding. Overeds like you and I can emit microscopic material which incapacitates normal humans and makes it unpleasant for others to approach. Are you sure you're not hungry? Nobody else will come and take your seat."

Of course you're still hungry, but you're not taking a gift from the devil. Even if it will probably be delicious and make you feel so much better.

You've still got a fistful of change. You could keep going, or you could call it a day. You are hungry, and it doesn't count if you buy your own food...right?

>>29222277
You decide to go have a dinner at Benny's. After all, you're not taking a bribe if you pay for it yourself. As you expected, Claire gets up and silently follows you the whole way. You are almost tempted to say something during the walk over, but your better judgement prevails. Claire finally relents as you enter the restaurant and take a seat by yourself.

As you take in the sights, the sounds, and most importantly, the smells, you begin to realize you've never been this hungry in your entire life. Recklessly, you order 3 plates of pancakes, 2 burgers with fries, a plate of ham and eggs, and a full loaf's worth of toast before you even realize it.

The food comes quickly and you begin eating before the waitress can finish putting everything on the table. It's good. It's so good! When did their food get so good!?

In the midsts of your feeding frenzy, you look up to see Claire standing just outside the window next to your booth. Immediately realizing how awkward both this and your extreme hunger must seem, you peek around to gauge the situation. Sure enough, all eyes are on you and Claire. There are whispers going about, and the waitress is talking with a fellow you can only guess to be the manager.

Shit, you don't want to make an incident of this...

Meekly, you wave for Claire to come inside. After a few minutes, she is shown to your seat and she orders a glass of lemonade and a waffle. After those formalities are finished, she returns to staring at you.

Almost 20 minutes pass wordlessly. Occasionally, Claire will take a bite of her food and sip at her drink, but beyond that she remains totally silent, completely focused on watching you. Finally, you finish your food, dropping your silverware on your plate. You feel stuffed, and your hunger finally abates.

"You eat like a wild animal," Claire finally comments.

With that, the dam breaks, and you begin to rebuke her. Does she actually think she is being subtle here?

"Wasn't I? I was praised as the best in my class at infiltration."

She's the best? Then what were the others like?

"I have heard a colleague of mine attempts to infiltrate via dropping from the sky on her target. Was my approach not much more nuanced?"

You just put your head in your hands and sigh. Clearly, she has something to say to you, so you decide to just let her get it out. Might as well face it straight on.

"A beastly appetite and bold, direct words, as expected of a Chimera. Please warn me if you're also experiencing any other wild urges. I should know if I must protect my virtue from you."

"Yes, Chimera. That is how we've classified your Syndrome. Syndromes are expressions of the Renegade's power. There are twelve in all, each possessing its own unique talents. Most Overeds display two Syndromes, known as Crossbreeds. Our tests suggest that you have only one: a Purebreed. Chimera, your Syndrome, allows its user to manifest biological advantages reminiscent of other animals."

Claire puts a hand on her chest, displaying something akin to pride.

"I am a rare Tri-Breed specimen, having three total Syndromes, albeit at a lowered proficiency. Back to my previous line of discussion, you are a Purebreed. Although you have less flexibility than Crossbreeds, you will possess a level of proficiency that they will not be able to match. Feel proud, as Purebreeds are becoming much less common."

You think you'll feel proud when it doesn't involve you transforming into a monster.

"Oh? You don't like it? I always felt the Chimera Syndrome to be particularly regal. Such ferocity. So proud."

You think you're about done with this topic.

"The Renegade is a virus-like existence that was released upon the world roughly 20 years ago. It is believed that roughly 80% of the world's population is a carrier of the Renegade, and many more life-forms and minerals are also carriers. Most do not experience any effects of the Renegade at all, and it remains dormant throughout their entire lives. Some, however, activate their Renegade strain in some fashion. The Renegade then offers its host unbelievable powers. It is believed that this is a self-defence mechanism of the Renegade, but it cannot be known with certainty."

Really? If so many people carry it and it is mostly harmless, why is it a secret?

"Nearly half of all those who awaken the Renegade immediately become insane. These subjects are not known as Overed. They are instead known as Gjaums. Gjuams may appear human, but they are nothing more than primal desires, driven by the Renegade. All Overed have the possibility to become a Gjaum, and knowledge of this fact would cause panic. Thus, the Renegade is hidden."

You ask if there's some cure. Maybe you were being lied to before.

"The only cure is death, and even death is not 100% effective."

That's grim.

Fuck...

>you are to be referred to as 'Wild Card'
We should invest in dice

>>29224482
good show OP, I find your willingness to roll with our insistance on remaining normal to be rather refreshing compared to all the railroaders on this board. Any chance of a firm schedule or is it just gonna be played by ear?

>tfw you realize robots are made of minerals and can get super powers.
>>
>>29224482

Pretty fun, QM. I'll keep an eye our for a followup.
>>
>>29224526
I think I'll play it by ear, so as not to tempt the curse.
>>
>>29224446
We are the opposite of the Wild Card! We are the rules card. The boring card that no one ever plays.
>>
>>29224550
nah, we're the joker that always gets removed from the deck before play, just watching eveyone else have their fun.

and we are perfectly okay with that
>>
>>29224550
Like a three?
>>
>>29224550
I think the "Wild" refers to us being able to beast mode.
>>
>>29224550
We'll have to find out how to lodge that complaint.
>>
>>29224677
>we spend an afternoon filling out a complaint form while Claire looks on, confused that we are actually passionate about our code name
>>
>>29224526
I really like the tale of a guy trying really hard not to be the protagonist. I mean, eventually we'll be forced to be the protagonist but that doesn't mean we have to enjoy it and won't try with all out might to resist being pulled in to some insane situation.

I can imagine dear Captain, having just slain a horrible villain because he was in captains way, being celebrated with cheers and adulation with girls throwing themselves at his feet, and he is just sulking because all the fuss is going to make him miss his favorite show.
>>
>>29224708
If you look at the various descriptions of how the Captain (am I the only upset the character doesn't actually have a name?) lives and does things, it's clear he has chronic depression rather than just being unmotivated.
>>
>>29224708
The BBEG is standing there, going through his evil monoluge while captain is eating a hotdog and wondering how he's going to keep his homework intact.

>>29224739
His name is now John Smith. I challenge anyone to think of a more mediocre name
>>
>>29224708

I like the idea as well. I worry a bit about blurring the line between unmotivated and antisocial, but we'll let the votes sort that out. That being said, it is nice to see something a bit different.

The QM made a twitter, if anyone's still here.

Everybody gone, brah.

I predict next thread will have a complete abandonment of the "no fucks given" attitude.
>>
>>29226268

Don't say that we can keep it together for at least one more thread, if it happens soon anyway
>>
>>29226340
No. I can already see people waifuing Claire or Ayase.
>>
>>29226378
Or the Chief. Another character without a name.
>>
>>29226378

I Believe! But fuck waifuing I forgot about waifuing
>>
>>29226423
Maybe it'll be okay, Captain doesn't seem to be very pleased with his female peers.
>>
I believe that this quest is what would have turned out if Nisio wrote a Prototype novel series. I am completely okay with this.
>>
>>29224705
Yes!
>>
>>29226416
I support this notion wholeheartedly.

Disregard crazy girls, pursue Woman.
>>
>>29226378
We're not going to be waifuing anyone. Because that's not mediocre.
>>
>>29230549
The majority of human beings on the planet are in relationships. Avoiding relationships is unusual and noteworthy
>>
>>29233048
A fair point.
>>
So, how do we date the Chief in a blatantly normal manner?
I mean, just doing it in that manner will be unusual, but that's our thing right?
>>
>>29238702

we should start by asking if she wants to get a cup of coffee
>>
Why is this thread still up? Go to bed.
>>
>>29239024
No

For science, mediocrity, and leading the Go-Home Club.
