You, Faateh Dhvann'kur, a ten-year veteran of war and blooshed, and a man of the Orkh'un, are here on this island, a prisoner.

>The prison has been overrun by the inmates

>This is the fifth day you have gone without food.

>You met a female Lizardfolk, Salaasenn, whom you seem to have lost

>The strongest Orkh'un you've met in the prison hates your guts

>You broke your only weapon, a cracked cudgel, beating on a Lizard

>You are surrounded by pissed off Elves

And yet

You are Orkh'un. Survive. Endure. Prevail.

Alright, let's go!
>>
"Why, to fight what comes out of the sea at night."

The words reverberate in your head.

>>29189350
You have the Lizard at your feet, he may stir soon, but for now he seems to be out for good.

Some of the crowd that had gathered soon after you knocked out the Lizard seems to have dissipated, a dozen Elves still remain. The Elf you were talking to, Kuba, and his friend, Kirill, among them.

You ask him about:
>Clarify what he just said
>Ilyusha
>About procuring food
>Weaponry
>The Lizard at your feet

Pick one.
>>
>>29189423
>Ask him to clarify
>Ask where he thinks the lizard was heading towards
>>
>>29189436

"What comes out of the sea"

"You don't know then?", Kuba, smirks, "New arrival, I see. Hmm, the Orkh'un and the leaders know more than us anyway. All we know is that there is something in the waters. Something that has a link to this prison that is our abode. Ask, Artem or your own people if you want, they only ever tell us not to head out during the night."

>Ask about the Elves at the prison
>Ask about Artem
>Ask about Ilyusha
>Tell him to help move the Lizard
>Something else
>>
>>29189489
>Ask about Artem
>>
>>29189489
>Ask about Ilyusha
>>
>>29189510

"Is Artem the one leading the Elves here?"

"What, no! He's just the leader of our tribe from Madeen, he's just some crimelord from back home who has been propped up by his coterie. There are ten odd tribes out there with a chietain each. There more a representative than a chieftain, but Artem does like to put on a show. But as far chieftains go here, he's no worse- "

"Fuck that shit, Kuba. We still got a Lizard lying here in front of us, if Artem hears of this, representative or not, he'll fuck your shit up."

You:
>the lizard is going nowhere as long as you're hear. Continue inquiries
>decide what you want to do with the tied-up lizard
>>
>>29189583
One last question.
>Why are the elves not united under one leader
And go ahead and ask about Ilyusha too. We can move the lizard out to.....wherever it was supposed to be going? Just ask the elves where they think it'd be best to place it.
>>
>>29189633
"What do you suggest, Elf?", you ask of Kirill.

"Don't ask me. Just I don't know take it away from here. Let it loose in the Hobbs' quarter. Could very much do with a lessening of their numbers."

You can't drag about the Lizard by yourself, not after getting hit in the chest, not to mention going hungry for the fifth day.

"Alright, you'll have to help me though. We'll take it to wherever it was heading "

Kirill and Kuba look at each other and then back at you.

Kuba: "They don't go anywhere. The Lizards just roam about, making a meal out of anyone they come across until they're caught again."

You decide to
>take the Lizard to the Hobbs' quarter, because why not?
>to your house
>to the tower, that should send a message to Bathoot
>fuck the elves, leave it here
>something else
>>
>>29189709
>to your house
>restrain it by cutting off it's legs
>eat legs
>wait for it to regenerate
>repeat
>>
>>29189709
>to our house
It's tied up, right? And it's apparently smaller, comparably to Salaasenn? So maybe a child. Let's try interrogating it.
>>
>>29189736
>>29189740
You decide to take the Lizard to Gouge Eye Rock. It is the nearest place to your present location, and will give you some time to talk with it.

"We're taking it to where I live. I'll take care of it from there."

You grab the rope around its torso and use it heft it on your back. The other two elves wait a couple of moments, ask the others for assistance, and then, resigned, pick up it up from the hindlegs.

The going is slow, but your house is near enough.

"So, tell me", you ask of the stumbling elves, "aren't the Elves supposed to be under a united front? That's what I heard from the others."

"N-nah, we got... Tsaeyu. He's the leader. Real mean son of a bitch... that one.", Kirill says between heaves and puffs.

"Aye, the tribal chieftain are just for show... to make his competitors think they got some say... but the rank doesn't really mean shit."

As you start crossing the open area surrounding Gouge Eye Rock, you realize there's now way you can get the Lizard on top of the fifteen foot rock where your house lies. At least not with the resources you have.

What now?
>>
>>29189847
What's the way up like? How much rope is available to us?

We could try pulling it up from above and asking these elves to push from below.
>>
>>29189870

You think about unraveling some of the rope around the Lizard and pulling it up with the Elves helping out from the ground.

Are you willing to risk that, or do you want to try something else?
>>
>>29189889
Ugh. It's hard coming up with ideas all by myself. Maybe wait until a few other people arrive? Otherwise, just go ahead, I guess.
>>
>>29189889
>>29189903
Anon is here, still pissed about descisions last thread. I am fine with your plan though, lets tie him up and pull em up. Surely nothing can go wrong...r-right?
>>
>>29189942
YOUR APPROVAL FILLS ME WITH CONFIDENCE.
>>
>>29189903
You aren't sure if you want to go ahead with that. Not when you don't know if the present bindings will be enough to keep him restrained when he wakes up.

You find yourself in a dilemma with limited options, you can
>you can leave the lizard where it is
>drag him somewhere else, but you aren't sure if you're strong enough to pull that off.
>go ahead, unwind some of the ropes to pull him up
>untie him and wait until he leaves of its own accord
>impair him somehow for the time being
>>
>>29189959
Alright, let's go with that 4th option. Tell the elves to leave and we'll watch from safety on the top of our little cliff-face.

If it runs, we can try and track it.
>>
>>29189959
>find a sharp rock and a big rock
>take the lizard apart
>carry pieces home
>>
>>29189981
>>29189984

"Leave, I'll take it from here.", you ask of the Elves.

You wait until they're someways off, you don't want to see their histrionics after you're done untying it.

As you take off his bindings, you notice that it is conscious.

The Lizard, a dark red, with a sheen that makes it seem like a coating of blood, has its pale yellow eyes fixed on you, unblinking.

You don't have time to get up on the rock, so you give diplomacy a try.

You place a hand on your chest, "Faateh."

The Lizard jerks its snout twice in your direction, snapping at the air, "Faateh is food", it hisses, before loping off towards the gates of the prison. Its speed is two fast for you to follow.

It is noon now, but you think that the dusk isn't far behind.

What is your next course of action?
>>
>>29190096
Well, that was a waste of time.

What are our possible options from here?
>>
>>29190113

>You can go looking for Artem to see about hunting food.

>You can try and meet with other Orkh'un, those whom you've not met as of now.

>You can try and procure a weapon. The only place you know of is Bathoot's chamber. Unless you decide to craft something makeshift, you'll have to ask someone for weapons. Bathoot told you that only Orkh'un and the leaders are allowed to carry them.

>You could try and plan an escape from the prison

>You could go after Rakshirr to try and force something out of him
>>
>>29190147
>You can try and meet with other Orkh'un, those whom you've not met as of now.
Well, let's go ahead and make nice then.
>>
>>29190153
I'll wait for a couple more votes. Since all of these options would require a significant change in direction.
>>
>>29190164
Yeah, sure.

Maybe you should have updated your twitter on the thread having already gone live since a little while ago?
>>
Damn it, I got here too late. Why didn't we leave it tied up and interrogate the thing, guys? We could have found out what comes from the sea, or where the lizards are kept. OP, we can possible get a better surname from killing the things that come out of the water, yes?
>>
>>29190147
>You can go looking for Artem to see about hunting food.
We haven't eaten in five days damn it.
>>
>>29190177
Depends on what they are. But they must something very dangerous for the inmates to require Lizardfolk to fight them off.
>>
>>29190187
>>29190177
These are me, btw
Also, we should look into doing some mining in order to get ourselves a pick axe so we can expand our abode.
>>
>>29190187
>>29190196
Just to speed things along, I'm willing to switch my previous vote here
>>29190153
To looking for Artem.
>>
>>29189942
>still pissed about descisions
What decisions?
>>
>>29190216
Food is your main concern right now. If things keep going as they, you won't have enough strength to go, hunt for meat.

You decide to head back to the Elven quarters. The ones on the outskirts seem to house the workers, so this time trying the interior would be better.

Elves, a race in decline like the Orkh'un and Hobgoblins. In a world warring over hegemony and fueled by imperialism, the humans and dwarves have left those of the Old World far behind in this race.

You look upon the Elves, in their motley of tattoos, a people in whom pride has been usurped by bitter cynicism. A saying goes, "You may break an Elf, but never the Elf." Here, looking upon these people, you see nothing left to be broken.

Primarily the one where people decided to go find some dyes for some non-essential piece of our house instead of going to go see Bathoot, which ultimately ended up with us making him a enemy and being tossed out of orc society in a way. Also, no sword for us. 2bitter4u

>>29190279
It's okay the dude was a prick, anyways, and I'm going to enjoy when we bash his face in.

Some anons were pretty intent on ignoring Bathoot, yes.

But nothing can be done about that now. Let it be. Let's just get through this.
>>
>>29190292
That may have just been normal for the orcs. Posturing and such. We didn't show any proper respect, so he got angry. As we would if anyone disrespected us.

He was amiable enough until then.
>>
>>29190292
>>29190293
I understand but it was still a really stupid move. nobathootwaifu4me Yeah, lets just focus on the now and try to survive.
>>
>>29190305
See I don't know if that was normal for Orcs or he was just being a douche, and OP really hasn't clarified at all. Our guy got angry at him, so it could suggest it wasn't normal, or that might have been OP channeling the players through him.
>>
>>29190320
Our guy got angry at him because he was being talked down to. Just because we can acknowledge someone as being more accomplished, that doesn't mean we can accept their shit without feeling anything.
>>
>>29190267
Most Elves ignore you, but as you approach the inner, well-constructed buildings, you are stopped by two men, until you tell them you want to meet Artem.

You are led to the his Artem, which seems to be occupied by him alone. Someone seems to have told him of your arrival because you find him waiting sitting in a chair made of ebony wood, a shawl draped over his left leg, and facing the door.

You see an Elf who looks quite young, well, they all do to you. With red and green tattoos running along the side of his eyes and mouth. His arms are covered in tattoos that seem to depict an assortment of seemingly unrelated signage and objects.

"Well, met, Orc. What business do you have with me? I must say I'm surprised by your visit, you don't usually see your people in Elven territory, not unless there is a Lizard on the loose", he says all this with a mellow voice, but his eyes seem hiss contempt.

What do you say to him?
>>
>>29190336
"I came for food"
>>
>>29190336
I have came for food.
>>
>>29190320
Yes, being a small people for a long period of time has made Orkh'un society go to great lengths to avoid instances that may lead to conflict amongst other things like banning the emigration of women and children.
>>
>>29190336
>>29190354
>>29190359
Well, let's not phrase it as such. Lead up to it.

First, let's ask him about the relationship between him and the orc guards of this island.
>>
>>29190367
So, he was being a douche?
>>
>>29190367
I, uh, don't understand how your response relates to the anon's post.
>>
>>29190373
All our engagements before have been without tact and straight to the point. So the most I personally could Imagine adding is something like
"I heard you elves hunt" then going from there
>>
>>29190354
>>29190359
>>29190373

" Orkh'un here do not cause you discomfiture, I hope. At least not an unarmed one."

"No, no. Not all. Not when Orkh'un go to such lengths to ensure peace and stability in this prison which we now call home. Yet, it is also true that your people rarely give us a chance to show Elven hospitality." The Elf's smirking green eyes remind you something or someone unpleasant.

"I look for food."

"Food? But I thought Bathoot made it clear that he was handle distribution amongst your people. Are your running low? But Bathoot took quite a large share from the barge that arrived yesterday. What happened?"

You
>tell him that you had a falling out with bathoot
>tell him to not ask for reasons
>feed him a lie
>answer indirectly
>>29190383
Yes. Verbal abuse and admonishments are rare especially between two adults.
>>
>>29190397
Conflict between two Orcs is something their society goes to great lengths to avoid. Verbal confrontations thus cause much more offense during the rare instances when they're used.
>>
>>29190400
Well, it's going to be hard to do that around Elves anyway.
>>
>>29190462
So....was Bathoot rightfully angry? Or was he power tripping?
>>
>>29190445
>>answer indirectly
Orkh'un don't dwaddle on petty details.
>>
>>29190445
Eh. Let's go ahead and tell him that we had a disagreement with Bathoot.
>>
>>29190445
"I care not to deal with Bathoot."
>>
>>29190473
He was right to be angry, but he shouldn't have insulted you.

>>29190474
>>29190481
>>29190513

"I care not for Bathoot, I stand alone."

"Ah, so, you are the new arrival, Faateh. There's been talk about you ever since your - disagreement with Bathoot", he says, a half-smile on his lips, "You remind me of Jortuum, he was - independent mined like you too."

"So, anyway, food-food, hmm, well, we barely have enough to feed our own you see. What with the new arrivals who came yesterday, we are overstretched."

What do you tell/ask him?
>>
>>29190550
Orkh'un have strong bodies and can help move heavy stuff.
>>
>>29190550
So you are unwilling to make yourself a friend?
>>
>>29190550
I can hunt for myself. What I need is a place to hunt in.
>>
>>29190550
"I took care of the lizard for you and you are an Elf. If you didn't have spare food hidden somewhere, you would not be a very clever Elf and one thing Elves bride themselves on is being clever, do they not?"
>>
>>29190592
>I took care of the lizard for you
Let's not mention that, since their usual policy is to let the lizard run through the area.

But yes, let's see if we can't offer that up as a possible plus.
>>
>>29190565
>>29190567
"From what you tell me, you seem to lack friends among Orkh'un. And a leader such as you could do with a few more."

"Ah, yes, true. But, what shall I tell our honorable and respectable captain - ", snickering among his coteries, " - Tsaeyu about the dwindling stocks?"

"I don't ask for your own meat. I shall hunt my own, what I ask for is to know what and where to hunt. And to let you know my intentions."

1/2
>>
>>29190565
>>29190567
Combine these two.
>>
>>29190662
we also need foof for now.
>>
>>29190592
>>29190650

He audibly coughs at that, "But, even the best of our hunters are barely able to take down enough game. Not to forget some of them don't make it back home either"

"Then there shouldn't be a problem if I'm set to fail. Look upon it as a favor. An Orkh'un owing you avors doesn't come easy."

He weighs your words. "I guess we can spare some meat for you, after all that your people do for us. As for lands and locations for hunting, a humble chieftain can't help you much with that."

He motions to two of his men, and they go around and pass through the door.

"I'll need weapons to hunt."

"We hapless Elves have too few, master Orc. And may I daresay, our need is greater."

Seems like you'll finally be getting some food today. Though Artem doesn't seem willing to let you go, hunt outside the prison. Perhaps what Kirill, said about him being a figurehead is true.

Is there something you want to ask/do before you live with the meat?
>>
>>29190767
Ask him about the orc guard. You heard they used to work under our captors until they took up arms with the prisoners to take over the island.
>>
>>29190767
So we have an arrangement? You will give me food once a while, and ill do you a favor or two.
>>
>>29190819
>>29190767
Tell him that we live on the cliff-face to the south. If he has need of us to return the favor, he can find us there.
>>
>>29190819
>>29190796

You have doubts about Artem's benevolence, this looks to be a one-time thing, and you're sure he'll try and milk this favor all he can.

As his men come back raw meat, neatly packed in broad, green leaves, you ask him about the Orkh'un guard.

"I heard rumors about Bathoot being a guard at this prison once." That's a guess, but you had to start somewhere.

"Ah, yes, he and his fellow Orkh'un warriors decided that it was better to side with us, pitiable prisoners, against our cruel, vicious captors. Most of your people are previous guards, only about four or five were sent here to be prisoners."

>>29190837
"Alright, then, Artem. Know that you can find me at the lone house on the cliff-face to the south. Let me know if you need help."

Artem lets out a gleeful shout at that, "Ha! I told you he reminded me of Jortuum, didn't I."

"I'm guessing he's the previous occupant of that house, where is he now?"

"Ah, where is he now", he drags out each word, contemplating a diplomatic response, "Why don't you ask his friend, the one who carries the twin swords, Sangha?"

And with that, your meeting with him comes to an end. You head home and have lunch. You're too hungry to cook it first, and as a soldiers not your first time eating meat raw either.

It is evening now.

What is your next course of action?
>>
>>29190920
Let's explore the prison a bit, looking for anything useful. I still want to try to make a forge in our home, do we know how to forge? Also, Jortuum is dead, and Sangha carries his sword, well we might as well look for Sangha then.
>>
>>29190920
Night is when the monsters come from the sea, right?

I'm curious as to what they look like. But if they're truly dangerous enough for the prisoners to have to rely on the lizards to take care of them, we need to find a weapon.

Let's walk around the prison then. Look for Sangha.
>>
be back in a few minutes, gotta run an errand.

>Also, Jortuum is dead, and Sangha carries his sword, well we might as well look for Sangha then.

Yes, but they didn't emerge last night, at least you are not aware of any.

Had his spirit broken, then? Turned into a slave, perhaps? Or maybe he's turned corrupt, hmm?
>>
>>29190977
>Haha, nope.
Yet again OP, you prove to not be as superficial and shallow with your plot as most movies and TV shows.
>>
>>29190999
It's neither of those. And for your own enjoyment, perhaps you should take steps in the Quest itself to find out the truth rather than conjecture.

>>29190947
>>29190959
What seemed like enough food for a few days is already half finished, but you reckon that the rest will last you at least the next day at least.

You decide to head out and look for Sangha, and see if you can get your hands on a weapon or tools, while you're out to find him.

You head to the East, away from the prison gates and to the break in the wall which functions as an exit to the mines. You see Rakshirr and Sangha standing by as a group of humans does a headcount of a raggedy looking group of people.

You see a few men, with amputated hands pulling carts with ropes tied around their waste. On each side they have half a dozen human guards, with wooden clubs escorting them.

What is it that you do?
>>
>>29191169
Approach Rakshirr and Sangha
Mind reminding me who Rakshirr is again, is he the one we met on the boat?
>>
>>29191169
>It's neither of those. And for your own enjoyment, perhaps you should take steps in the Quest itself to find out the truth rather than conjecture.
It's fun to speculate, just leave us to this sort of stuff.

Hail them. Ask why the mines are still being worked if the prisoners had taken over the island.

Rakshirr met us with Sangha. He ranked lower than us and was a bit miffed about it.

You decide to approach them. While Rakshirr ignores you, Sangha glances at you briefly, signalling you to wait.

Half an hour later, once the train with the miners, the carts and their human guards have filed out, you head towards them.

The three of you stand beside the broken wall, a ways off from any houses. The grass has been trampled on by numerous feet and you seen around you. Through the crack you see a worn down and dusty path.

At your approach, Rakhirr leaves, after giving Sangha a glare.

"Do not try that with me Rokharri.", Sangha tells him forcefully, then turning to you: "I knew you were trouble, what do you want?"

What do you say?

"Jortuum. Who was he?"

Sangha look at you, expressionless for a little before saying, "Jortuum Barakh'dwatta (Siege-breaker) was the Orkh'un living in your new house some time back."

You wait for a moment, letting him speak.

"Bhara'kwi probably hated you the moment you decided to settle there.", he continues.

"He did seem pissed to me."

"He passed a message telling us to boycott the new arrival's ass, and he decides what is to be done with you."

"I expected as much. And what did Jortuum do?"

"He and I were one of the few Orkh'un prisoners here. He challenged Bathoot's claim to leadership."

>>
>>29191415
>"Bhara'kwi probably hated you the moment you decided to settle there.", he continues.
Oh shit. Orcs are a superstitious and cowardly lot.

We need to dress up as a bat. Bat-hoot would fear bats, right?
>>

Also, I assume Bathoot found out we were living in that house AFTER Sangha and Rakhirr returned to him, huh?

"Bathoot... put out an order for him to be executed.", he lets that sink in.

Only rape of Orkh'un women carries the death penalty and even then it takes days of arguments and debates before a verdict is reached by the council.

You haven't heard an execution being carried out in your life, and none carried out over politics. That is what Thruum is for.

"Is he dead?", you ask.

"I don't know"

>ask about the prison, miners and the lizards
>continue discussing Jortuum

"What made him challenge Bathoot?"

"He didn't like Bathoot's face. At least that's what he told me. Jortuum also had a higher Thruum."

"That's in the past though, tell me what's going on in prison now. What's with the mining that's going on in here?"

"Who the fuck are you to me, don't think we are blood-brothers since we talked for a minute. Go ask your fucking Elves."

What do you say now?
>>
>>29191547
"Haha! An Orkh'un that's a comedian! I bet they all laughed when you let your friend get hunted down to, no?" Then walk away, hopefully he attacks. Then we can pound his shit in. If not, let's explore the mines.
>>
>>29191547
Well, that's all the information we'll get from him now, I guess.

"Fine then. I won't waste anymore of our time."

I think he'd rather not associate with us, seeing as how we've been ostracized by Bathoot. Wouldn't want to get caught colluding with us, I suppose.

That's a bit too cheery and spiteful for our character so far, I think.
>>
>>29191624
Very well, I still want to laugh at him though.
>>
>>29191547
"So quick to turn your back on a fellow Orkh'un, seems you've learned all to well from Bathoot. It's no wonder Jortuum cut ties to you when he did"
>>
>>29191610
>>29191611

"Won't take anymore of your time then, you perhaps need to go, do some explaining to Bathoot anyway", you retort as leave towards the mines.

"Where do you think you're heading off to? I don't give a shit about whether you live or die, but I don't want an Orkh'un carcass there tomorrow. Makes us all look weak.", he says as Sangha turns his back to you and heads to the tower.

You decide to
>follow his advice
>head there anyway
>something else
>>
>>29191671
Might as well follow his advice. We had no real pressing need to enter the mines anyway.

Where else have we not yet explored?
>>
>>29191682
>>29191671
Nah, we should explore the mines to see if we can find a pick axe with which we can dig a hole into the cliff-face and expand our home. Besides, he said we might die, which means something might kill us, something we can fight.
>>
>>29191682
Other than what lies outside the prison, you have yet gone to the Human quarter. And the Red and Yellow Hobb quarters.

Well, you've not really explored anywhere except perhaps the Elven quarter, and the tower.
>>
>>29191708
>>29191682
'sup to you guys.
>>
>>29191708
Oh, well then. Let's go enter! Adventure!
>>
>>29191709
>>29191721
Oh my. Got your trip stolen?
>>
>>29191730
Nope, both posts are by me.

>>29191708
>>29191724
Adventuring it is.

You decide to head for the mines. You may find a tool there. It's dark now, as you leave the prison complex behind, and come across a wide ditch. The dark doesn't trouble you overmuch, your eyes can see well enough in the moonlight.

To you right is a tunnel heading into the bottom of the cliff-face. To your left there are two, both of them going through a large rock formation.

On the ground around you, you see several broken arrow shafts. And what looks like bloodstains.
On the walls of both the cliff-face and the rock you see carvings.

What do you do?
>investigate arrow shafts
>go down the ditch
>enter a tunnel
>head further east
>>
>>29191784
>Investigate arrow shafts
>>
>>29191800
Might as well.
>>
>>29191784
We should fucking leave with some of the arrow shafts, as it is getting dark and we know shit about what the lizards are fighting again.
>>
>>29191800
>>29191825
>>29191826
You bend down to look at the arrow shafts. The feathers on the shaft, and its otherwise crude crafting makes you think it was made without the proper tools. The arrow seems to have broken after it hit the ground. From above.

You instinctively look straight up. You see no one.

The arrowhead is a lustrous metal, that gives of a purple sheen, visible even in the darkness. You get up and collect half a dozen arrowheads lying around you.

And decide to head back. You feel as if something's watching you. It makes you uneasy, maybe it's the arrows you found.

As you return, you notice that the breach in the wall has been barricaded, with four humans keeping guard inside it.

What do you do?
>>
>>29191896
Approach the humans.
>>
>>29191896
Scared of something, humans?
>>
>>29191911
Let me expand on my vote a little, approach them and ask them about the creatures which come from the sea.

You approach the human guards, they all carry truncheons.

"Oi, the fuck is with the barricades, take this shit out now."

"No.", says a voice unlike a human's. You see an Orkh'un come into view.

"The rules are fucking clear, you stay out after the sun falls."

"Afraid of something?"

"No, but you shall be soon. When they come."

What do you say?
>>
>>29191939
That's a random thing to ask, anon. Might want to consider what would be an appropriate time to talk.
>>
>>29191993
Nothing. Let's enter deeper into the mines.

This is probably where the lizards nest, I suspect. And the orkh'un probably saw us enter and, as per Bathoot's orders.....marginalized us.
>>
>>29191993
"Haha! Give me a weapon Ork, and I'll show them the meaning of fear."
Hopefully this will get us something to fight with.
>>
>>29192014
Mines

we can at least get a pickaxe to use as a weapon.
>>
>>29192026
That's probably not gonna work. This is probably because of Bathoot's orders. He must want us to die.

>>29192032
Yeah, this is going to be our best chance to get a weapon. Let's not dawdle and waste time speaking to this guy.
>>
>>29192026
Violent confrontations with other Orkh'un is kinda taboo in their society. I don't have any problems going ahead with it, but perhaps you should give it another thought.

>>29192040
>>29192032
>>29192014
Back to the mines then.
>>
>>29192057
>Violent confrontations with other Orkh'un is kinda taboo in their society. I don't have any problems going ahead with it, but perhaps you should give it another thought.
I think he just wanted to taunt the guy, but....I'm against doing that.
>>
>>29192057
I wasn't going for a violent confrontation, I was trying for more bravado then anything. Also, I wasn't trying to threaten the guard but state that if we had a weapon the creatures of the sea would learn the meaning of fear. Sorry, If I was unclear.
>>
You decide not to quarrel over this like a petty human, and decide to spend the night in the mines.

Reaching the mines, you know something is amiss.

You survey the surrounding area and then notice it. The other arrow shafts are gone.

Roll for combat, please. You'll need to roll above 65. I'll take the highest.
>>
Rolled 97

>>29192108
I'm assuming 1d100?
Also, can we put the arrow heads between our fingers facing outwards for a little extra umph to our punches?
>>
Rolled 51

>>29192108
Fuck it, lets do this/
>>
Rolled 35

>>29192108
Also assuming this is a 1d100.

>>29192125
Nice.
>>
Rolled 45

>>29192108
4 rolls?
>>
>>29192125
Yes, 1d100.

>Also, can we put the arrow heads between our fingers facing outwards
Let's wait and see.
------------------------------------------------

You leap sideways out of reflex as an arrow whizzes by, into the darkness, quite some distance away from you.

You can see movement above, on the cliff-face. Right now, your attacker whoever he is, is too high up for you to retaliate.

What action do you take?
>Rush for the tunnels
>Hide in the ditch, behind the cover of a broken wheel barrow
>go back to the prison
>something else

>>29192150
I thought only three people were playing so I didn't give a number. Four is fine.
>>
>>29192125
I think there is no need to roll again?
>>29192108
i hope we still have the arrow shafts we collected?
>>
>>29192198
You do. They are broken though.
>>
>>29192186
Rush for the tunnels.

>>29192198
Where are they even being kept? Pockets?
>>
>>29192216
Those can simply be tied with a string to whatever it is you're wearing. As Orkh'un, you got to keep your normal clothes when you were imprisoned, and that's what you're wearing.
>>
>>29192245
What is our normal Orkh'un attire?
And another vote for tunnel rush.

Take out the armor.

You decide to make a run for the tunnel to the right, dug into the rock formation.

Please roll 3d100, rolls should be above 50. Taking the highest in order amongst the first four posts.
>>
Rolled 14

>>29192308
Alright, come on!
>>
>>29192316
>3d100
>>
Rolled 5, 2, 31 = 38

>>29192308
OOOPS.
>>
Rolled 99, 100, 28 = 227

>>29192342
no, this is how you do it right
>>
Rolled 58, 96, 26 = 180

>>29192308
>Taking the highest in order amongst the first four posts.
What does this mean?

>>29192349
Amazing.
>>
>>29192349
HAHA, yes.
Faateh strong like bull
Swift like river.
Smart like rock.
and honorable unlike others.
>>
>>29192356
Say a player's first of three rolls is below 50, I'll consider the next player's first roll instead i.e. I'll take the highest first, second and third rolls among the posts in 3d100
>>
Rolled 71, 88, 72 = 231

>>29192386
Well, then might as well rool for the fourth time
>>
>>29192386
so we got 99/100/76?

Get wrekt arrow guy, we orkh'un now
>>
>>29192349
The arrows are like flies buzzing annoyingly about you. As three arrows come at you one after the another, you turn back and take a look at those shooting them. There are two, you standing on top of the cliff-face. The moonlight glinting off the armor.

You leap backwards towards the tunnel, and watch the second arrow crash into the ground. It is the same as the shafts you earlier picked up. You notice fumes rising from the ground where it hit.

You turn back and dodge the third one, it whizzes past well above your head. The attackers are definitely not Orkh'un, and from their armor, you doubt they belong to the prison itself.

Doubts rake your mind and as you head inside into the tunnel's darkness.

You continue to walk into the depths, feeling your way, unsure for how long your attackers might pursue you.

You finally find a stone column to rest behind, where you can wait for any approaching footsteps.

"Hullo, there!", you hear a rasping voice behind you, "What brings you here in the night?"

You turn back to see a face floating in the darkness.

Can we call it a session for today then?
>>
>>29192512
My first guess was goblins....but now I'm not so sure who these people are.

And yeah, sure. It's late enough as is for me already.
>>
>>29192512
Yes, but if you tell me what race the face looks like.
>>
>>29192537
It looks like a porcelain mask.
>>
>>29192537
>>29192548
Hmm....natives?

>>29192512
>you doubt they belong to the prison itself.
I'd call them demons, but that seems a bit too supernatural for what you're going for. So either natives or prisoners/guards who've gone crazy are my best guesses.
>>
>>29192548
Damn you!
But seriously thanks for running, I get up at 6 just for this shit. On that note when do you plan on running next?
>>
Can some archive?
>>
>>29192596
Prison One does it himself, so don't you worry.
>>
>>29192578
>>29192579
The day after tomorrow.

I'm not to sure though, I may take another day or to work on my material. When I go through the previous threads, my writing and plot seems just so mediocre to what the other guys are coming up with. It makes feel guilty about having people feel as if they are wasting their time.

I'll try my best to sort out my shit by the day after tomorrow though.

>>
>>29192621
You have your moments.

Let me tell you, I've seen quite a few QMs improve real quickly the longer they've been QMing. Sometimes I like comparing their earlier stuff to what they're doing now.
>>
>>29192621
I'll tell you this, your diction has improved immensely from your first thread.
>>
>>29192654
Well, I hope that's the case with me too. I'm thankful for you, the players, who stick with the thread for the five-six hours it runs for. I know my quest is still rather weak, so you don't need to feel guilty if you ever decide to drop it.

>>29192670
That's good to hear.

It's rather hilarious and perplexing at the same time. I end up writing several page of notes on probable encounters and npc interaction, but the players end up picking the unexpected option. Keeps things exciting for me too.
