You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

We swear by rote for want of more.
“Leave her, Johnny, leave her!”
But now we’re through so we’ll go on shore.
And it’s time for us to leave her.

“Trudy,” says Kitten as you wash her hair in the shower. “Since when did you start singing in the shower?”

You pout mockingly. “Are you implying my singing is bad? I’m hurt!”

Kitten sighs. “Just scrub, will you?”

With your shower out of the way, the both of you get dressed for the day. You check the time, plenty of time to get to school. You also get breakfast out of the way as well with a nice bowl of cereal.

“Say.” Kitten looks over at your bowl. “Isn’t that a bit much?”

You look down at your bowl, with your cereal forming a great big pile breaking the surface of the milk. “What makes you say that?” you ask.

“Oh, just a hunch,” she says. The two of you dig in and finish up. With that out of the way for now, the inevitable knock comes at the door.

“Ready for school, President?”

You open the door and say, “Morning, girls! How are you all doing?”

Nancy says, “Good good. I assume you two slept well?”

“Like a corpse!” You look over at Lisa, who’s now donning a red scarf around her neck. “Scarf today, Lisa?”

Lisa nods. “It’s gonna get a bit colder and I think there’s nothing wrong with a nice warm scarf.” She tucks her chin into the cloth of the scarf. “Hall Monitors be damned, at least I’m warmer than you lot.”

You shrug. “I suppose. Let’s get this show on the road.”

You all head down out of the dorms and onto the street. Now that Lisa mentions it, it is getting slightly chillier. It’s still fall of course but hell, fall isn’t known for being hot. You stick your hands in your pockets and simply let your staff converse amongst themselves.

“… and my economics Professor told me that I should take Honors next year.”

Nancy nods. “You should! You get more credits with Honors classes. Then your Senior year you can just take nothing but Electives!”

Lisa shrugs. “I’ll think about it. Personally I think Honors classes are a bunch of bullshit. Harder classes for what? Two extra credits? Fuck that.”

“You know, I feel really bad for our tanks. No roof over their heads, no nothing.”

Lisa says, “They’re just tanks, they’re not dogs or anything.”

Nancy says, “But Lisa, they’ll rust or get really dirty! Not to mention having to be exposed to all this salty air!” She harrumphs at that. “Can’t believe we had to move out of the Sports Warehouse.”

Lisa says, “Well the Sports Department owns it now, Nancy and they are will within their rights to use it for their sports.”

“But still!” Nancy looks over at you. “Do we even have any money left? Maybe we can build a barn!”

You shrug. “Now that you mention it, our budget is a bit lacking at the moment.” You look past Nancy and over to Lisa. “Lisa, got any ideas on how we can make some funds back really fast?”

She shrugs. “Fundraiser maybe, we’d need time and a little money to set that up. Of course we could always ask Principal Tennyson for more money.”

You shake your head. “Nah, not Tennyson. He’s got enough on his plate. Just go with the Fundraiser like in a week or so. We can sell some cookies or something.”

Lisa says, “I’ll get something organized, don’t you worry.”

With that, you all arrive at the campus, to a crowd of chattering students all milling about. You look confusedly around, then walk up to a Hall Monitor beginning to disperse the crowd. “What’s going on?”

“Class is cancelled. Some eejit’s broken the fecking water main.”

You pump your fist. “Yes!” You high five a just as excited Kitten. You bounce in your step until you realize your staff look less than impressed. “Oh come on! School’s cancelled!”

Lisa nods at you, unamused. “Yeah. That’s kind of bad.”

Out of the crowd comes out Octavia and Wendy. “Hey, Gertrude!” Octavia walks over to you. “Shame about classes getting cancelled. You all want to head to Starbucks with us?”

With that, you all end up at Starbucks. Everyone but you and Kitten buy lattes of all sorts, with you two rather confusedly ordering coffee black. You all sit down at a table by the window.

You say, “So what’s a latte taste like?”

Nancy shrugs. “You never have one?”

“Well,” you say, “Never had coffee before.”

Wendy raises her eyebrow. “You’ve never had coffee before?” She rolls her eyes. “Jesus Christ, are you five or something?”

Octavia nudges Wendy. “Now, Wendy. All kinds of people have never had coffee. Maybe Gertrude’s just one of them.”

Lisa says, “Still, you never have coffee, Boss?”

You shake your head. “Nah, just… never really got around to it.” You clap your hands, smiling nervously. “I guess you could say I’m always energetic!”

You sigh. “Whatever.” You take a sip of your coffee, cringing at the bitterness.

“So what happened with the Water main?”

Wendy shrugs. “No fucking clue. Apparently some jokers thought it’d to steal a jackhammer and start hammering away at some random place. Now there’s no water to the campus buildings. Could take the entire day to fix.”

You hopefully lean in. “Perhaps…?”

“School’s probably gonna be fine for tomorrow.” You cross your arms, sulking. “Jeez, are you really gonna be like that, Gertrude?”

You shrug. “Well unlike my honorroll students here who form my staff, I’m not exactly a very well-educated person. I don’t particularly excel at school like they do.” You gesture to them. “They’re actually pretty pissed that school’s closed.”

Lisa nods. “Had a couple of assignments due today, and the fact that we miss out today means we’re going to be a little behind. I hate being behind.”

“Well,” says Nancy. “It’s not like we’re going to be that behind. It’ll just be a day’s worth of lessons. Not like they’re going to take a day out of Shore Leave or anything. Personally, I think this of this as a good chance to get to know you two better.” She points at Octavia and Wendy.

Octavia nods. “Fine, what do you guys want to know about us?”

“How’d you all get into tanks?”

Wendy shrugs. “Well, from a young age, I suppose we all just really loved tanks. Everything about them just drew us in, cute clatter of the tracks, the strong armor, the passionate precision of the main cannon.”

Octavia smirks. “That’s almost word for word what the Tankery Instructor told us first day in Little League Tankery.”

Kitten chuckles. “I remember the Little League Tankery at our school. I think they shut it down because too many soccer moms complained about safety.”

“Mind you,” Octavia points a straw at Kitten, smiling. “Little League is safe. I think Wendy’s first tankette was the Carden Loyd. That’s where she met Kate. They were partnered up and from what Wendy tells me, they just smashed shit.”

“And you, what was your first Tankette?”

“Polish TKS. Ace was my partner in there.” She laughs, slapping her knee. “She always tried to ram the other tankettes, and when they were stopped, she pop out of the hatch and declare a ‘boarding action’!” She leans over the table, face in hands, laughing her ass off while everyone else include you and Wendy laugh along with her.

“Oh, Christ!” says Wendy. “Still, those tankettes were something else. Moving into Middle School we got into the big boys.”

“What was Middle School like?”

Octavia shrugs. “Oh it was terrible. Bullies here, bitches there. Us tank nerds got whacked pretty quickly just for being tank nerds. Of course, there was this girl, Josephina Ekins. She was a very hardcore Tankery enthusiast like us, and she decided to start the Tankery Team for our Middle School.”

You nod. “Go on.”

“Well, it worked. Turns out there was a lot of hardcore tank enthusiasts plus a couple of interested people. We had enough crews to fill out ten tanks. Our original tank, the Steelmuncher, was a real treat because Josephina bought it out of her own pocket. We had other stuff like Ace’s Chaffee, a StuG III, the SU-76B, a Panzer III too?”

Wendy nods. “A Panzer III Ausf. J.”

Octavia continues. “There was also the M4 105 Sherman, and we also had a Panzer II Luchs with us, a T-34, and I think a Chi-Ha and a Ha-Go.”

“Interesting line up,” Nancy says. “How’d you make it work?”

Wendy shrugs. “Our team was more or less built around our Tiger. A lot of plans involved us tanking damage while the rest exploited holes in their plans and such. Wouldn’t have worked without Ekins though, she was a real commander.”

“So, a lot of teams use tankettes professionally?”

Octavia shakes her head. “Nah, tankettes are mostly the domain of Elementary Schools and professional teams who can’t afford real tanks. I think one of the Japanese Schools has to do with a lot of tankettes actually.”

Wendy nods. “Anzio, they’ve got a competent commander but their line up consists of very few particularly good tanks. The P40 for example is their only real “heavy” if you can call it that, the riveted armor would fold if you so much as sneeze at it.”

Octavia says, “Because tankettes usually only mount machine guns, they’re pretty much useless for anything other than bait.”

Wendy shrugs. “I suppose if you want. You can take tankettes if your team is a really professional team and you want to lose. A crew is good forever, but a bad tank is forever too.”

“I see,” you say. “So, tankettes are out of the question.”

“If you want my respect, you shouldn’t even think about it,” says Wendy.

“Wendy, I thought they lost your respect when they bought the Pershing.”

Wendy snaps her finger. “You bought a tank that’s an overmatch for everything on a shoestring budget. That’s really my biggest problem with it.”

“Overmatch?” you ask.

Octavia says, “The Pershing can pretty much take on a lot of things while being almost completely invulnerable. It’s like a lot of the late war German heavies. Overmatch stuff isn’t particularly well-liked among Tankery practictioners because it means smaller schools and teams don’t even have a semblance of a chance.”

Wendy nods. “That’s right. I still think the Pershing’s a piece of shit though.”

Octavia says, “It isn’t, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.”

Your cellphone vibrates with a new email. You decide on checking it later. You take another bitter sip of coffee then say, “Jeez. Hadn’t realized.”

“Well,” Wendy says, “You are an amateurs. I suppose I should cut you some slack about that. Doesn’t mean I will though.”

“It’s still a good tank though, isn’t it?” you ask. Octavia and Wendy look at each other.

Wendy says, “It’s shit.”

Octavia says, “I don’t think it’s shit. It’s just not that great either. I mean, hell Michelle loves the Pershing tanks, Joanna likes anything that glides on the field, and Kate’s more of all arounder kind of person.” She shrugs. “We’re Aces but that doesn’t mean we don’t have opinions you know?”

“So, Octavia,” Nancy says, “What’s your honest opinion of our line up?”

Octavia says, “It’s shit.”

Lisa says, “Gee, thanks.”

Octavia says, “Well, I’m no Tank Commander honestly but there’s a particular reason why most schools conform to a particular doctrine or base themselves around particular tanks. It eases up on tactical ability, something that you all could really need. The reason our line up worked in Middle School is because we had Ekins and ourselves. You… you don’t particularly have that.”

You ask, “So you don’t believe we can win the ITL World Cup then?”

Octavia glances away for a moment, pursing her lips. “Oh… well. It’s a stretch!”

“You’re all completely fucked,” says Wendy.

“Wendy. Perhaps you oughta exercise caution?” asks Octavia.

“There was a reason I was the loader and not the Commander, Octavia.”

For a girl educated in a private school, she seems to lack anything akin to tact, class, or social graces in general.
This isn't just "telling it like it is," we have plenty of people who already do that without being a drain on crew morale. She's an ass, and prides herself on it, and so far it's her only unique selling point. She's the Rush Limbaugh of tanking.

Greetings from J. Walter Christie Tech! We hear that you that you happen to be in possession of the very rare and valuable M26E1 Pershing Tank with the T54 Gun. You must have outbid us on the Tankslist because that tank happens to be on our wishlist along with such others like the famed E-100 Chassis or the LVT(A)-5.

Yes, we’re aware the LVT isn’t technically a tank, but a day at Christie Tech, we’ll turn it into one.

But anyway, we want your Pershing. I’ve been given a surplus of 50,000 Dollars to buy it from you.

Of course, I don’t actually want to spend that money when I could be using it on Hellcat mods for the Unlimited team, so I’m also gonna offer you something cool. How’s the tune of a vintage VALENTINE TANK! We were going to strap some rockets onto it to see if we could rivers with it, but the ITL veto’d us so we don’t particularly have much use for it. Anyway, give us a call back if you want anything from us.

“What do you guys think, cash or the Valentine tank?”

Wendy says, “Cash. You’re gonna get pasted in a Valentine tank, it’s hardly an infantry tank in comparison to the Churchill or the Matilda.”

Octavia says, “It’s a decent tank.”

“No it’s not,” says Wendy.

“Yes it is,” says Octavia.

“No it isn’t.”

“Is.”

“Isn’t.”

“Is!”

“Isn’t!”

You roll your eyes as the Aces start arguing. “Fine, should I take the cash then?”

Lisa shrugs. “Your choice.”

You quickly type up a new email in response to Hobart’s.

Dear Perrine,

I have received your email and I am grateful for any kind of money to go our way. However, I do ask that you do not use the M26E1 in its capacity for a full year, we do have a tournament to try and win and I ask that you at least have the courtesy to not use it. THERE IS A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF TANKS YOU CAN FIELD, IF THE ENEMY BRINGS 20 TANKS WE CANNOT BRING 40. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
IT MEANS WE NEED TO HAVE GUNS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO PENETRATE LATE WAR DESIGNS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE SEMI-FINAL STAGES WILL HAVE.

>>- It was an extremely heavy vehicle. The Sherman could never defeat a Tiger with a frontal shot. We had to force the Tiger to expose its flank. If we were defending and the Germans were attacking, we had a special tactic. Two Shermans were designated for each Tiger. The first Sherman fired at the track and broke it. For a brief space of time the heavy vehicle still moved forward on one track, which caused it to turn. At this moment the second Sherman shot it in the side, trying to hit the fuel cell. This is how we did it. One German tank was defeated by two of ours, therefore the victory was credited to both crews. There is a story about this entitled "Hunting With Borzois" in my book

You say, “Whatever, I sold it anyway.”

Wendy nods. “Great. Excellent. So what are you going to spend the money on?”

You shrug. “Dunno. Parts, maybe a new tank or something. Hell, maybe we can use the money to build a storage area for our tanks or something.”

Lisa nods and looks over at Wendy. “You sure we can’t use any of the good storage facilities below deck?”

Wendy shakes her head. “Not my call, it’s Naval Studies Merchant and even then, they value space down there.”

“Well, anyway” you say. “The Pershing’s off and sold. And if Christie’s on the level, we won’t see it in the Tournament.”

“Probably aren’t, or maybe they’ll pull a rules lawyer,” says Wendy. She and Octavia stand up. “Anyway, we’ll get the check, I suppose it was nice having coffee with you all.”

Octavia nods. “Yeah, thanks, Gertrude. We’ll see you around.” The two leave up to the counter to cash in the check.

Because we will never have money, again, ever. And we will never have need for another heavy tank. And remember, the 90mm couldn't penetrate anything at all.

>>29006247
Allied tank doctrine didn't actually plan on M4s meeting Tigers head-on. TDs and, late in the war, Pershings were supposed to counter German tanks. Russian doctrine was to engage enemy armor with anything that could conceivably penetrate it.

>>29006261

Actually, you know what the funniest part of this is. Since the start of this Quest I've been advocating some kind of strategy we base our acquisition around instead of "dis tank won wwii, buy it"
I advocated using the GMC as an Anchor and the Churchill as a Secondary Anchor. We sold the GMC because Octavia said so, now we learn that Octavia used the Tiger I as an anchor and that their strategy revolved around it getting hit while the rest of them maneuvered.

>>

You slam your hand down on the table, getting everyone’s attention. “We gotta work out shelter for our tanks.”

Lisa nods. “Alright, how so?”

“I don’t know,” you say. “I was thinking of maybe just building a warehouse for all the tanks or something.”

Nancy says, “Well as much as I’d like to suggest it, we can’t just build a warehouse. There’s a lot that needs to be done with that. We’d need all sorts of raw materials and other things to even get started.”

“Alright then,” you scratch your chin. “Lisa, crunch some numbers for me, will you?” You look over at Kitten. “Kitten, since you’re here, got any bright ideas?”

She shakes her head as she plays on her DS. “Nah.”

Exactly. You know what the enemy is trying to do. They'll be trying to avoid the GMC, that puts them on the back foot.
They will travel the most logical route, and that's where you take them.
You don't need to be quick or strong if you know what your opponent is thinking
>>
>>29006541
That would work if it got to that position in a somewhat timely manner. By the time the GMC got into position, the position would likely be irrelevant unless the opposing team was just sitting around waiting to be shot at. It probably would have performed well in its intended role in breaking the Seigfried line, but I doubt it would have been able to engage armor at any reasonable distance.

“Sure. Nancy, can you call Mr. Mishka tell him about that?”

Nancy nods, pulling out her phone. “Sure thing, President!”

With that, you look back at Lisa, who apparently has finished the crunching the numbers on the subject. “Alright, Boss,” says Lisa. “Here’s our options.”

“One: This is the most expensive one at 40,000 Dollars. I can get us the materials to build a full warehouse to store 20 tanks and all other auxiliaries. It’ll also come with facilities so that it can also act as a Clubhouse of sorts with lounge, planning room, lockers, showers, all that kind of stuff.”

“Second: This one costs 20,000 Dollars. This is just a simple warehouse for 10 tanks and it doesn’t come with the auxiliary stuff that the first option comes with but it’ll serve its purpose.”

“Thirdly. We just buy a bunch of wood and put it together ourselves. Can’t guarantee it’ll hold up in a storm though but we can make it as big as we’d like at the price of 10,000 Dollars.”

You nod. “Anything else?”

Lisa shakes her head. “Nah, that’s about it. What do you want to buy?”

You nod. “Great, Lisa. You’re doing God’s work.” You slap her back and finish off your coffee. “Nancy?”

Nancy hangs up the phone. “Order’s put in. Should be done by Friday.”

“I’m doing well, thanks for asking. Our team’s just getting things together hopefully for the Tank Meet this weekend. You gonna be there?”

“Of course! Our Classic Lineup’s not gonna make it there because we’re still trying to get things together. Turns out LVT(A)-5s are difficult to get because apparently Tankery teams don’t use them.”

“… isn’t that because it’s an APC?”

“It’s the thought that counts, but anyway, we’re going to be bringing our Unlimited Lineup instead. Show the Europeans the American Spirit as it were, you follow me?”

“Yeah, I follow you. Is Unlimited a difficult thing?”

“It’s difficult in getting parts, but other than that it’s the funniest thing since the Three Stooges. We also do Tank Races every now and again too. Hey, if you’re in town for long, maybe we oughta meet up, throw some dollars down in the track for good measure.”

“I’ll think about it, Hobart.”

“So I was watching Reservoir Dogs the other day,” says Lisa. “And people on the internet say there’s a lot of deeper meaning behind the opening scene, the one where they discuss “Like a Virgin” and the business of tipping waitresses, stuff like that.”

Kitten nods. “Yeah, there’s a lot of stuff that characterizes the characters before you even know who they are. You already know Mr. Pink is selfish because he doesn’t tip, Mr. White is courageous because he defends waitresses, and other stuff like that.”

Lisa nods. “Yeah, but I think I’m still not getting some of the finer stuff. I just thought it was really really fucking boring.”

“Well, the Tipping scene is supposed to foreshadow a lot of events in the movie itself. Mr. Blonde for example is a complete psycho, and in the restaurant he suggests shooting Mr. White over the whole book thing with Joe. Mr. White’s defense of the waitresses is also supposed to symbolic of how he defends Mr. Orange. And, get this, you’ve already seen the entire thing, right?”

Lisa nods. “Right.”

“You know, Mr. Orange is the rat, because he rats out Mr. Pink not tipping the waitress first.”

Lisa scratches her chin, pensive. “… I think I get it now. So that’s scene is supposed to set up for the entire movie?”

Kitten nods. “Right, right.”

You say, “Excellent analysis of Reservoir Dogs, you two. What next, Pulp Fiction? Indiana Jones?”

Kitten rolls her eyes. “Pft. Whatever.”

With that, your food arrives. You start digging in on the Buffalo wings while the rest of the girls start dividing up the Pizza.

You hit the books so to speak as your crew talks. You keep reading on the fundamentals of cooking safety, as that is probably where you fail most at actual cooking. Recipes and stuff you can always come back to.

> Anyone Can Cook: Progress 40%

“So, the warehouse we’re going to be staying in once it’s finished will have full facilities, mess hall, showers, lounges, a strategy room, and space for up to 20 tanks,” says Lisa.

Nancy nods. “20 tanks is the usual limit on most ITL finishers. For this ITL World Cup, it’ll be six matches, which will go 10-10-15-15-20-20.”

Lisa says, “Personally I’m not really keen on the whole, ‘You can field less than the minimum but not more than maximum’ rule. Means we’re definitely going to be outnumbered if we don’t play our cards right.”

Nancy takes a bite out of her pizza, then says, “Well. The idea is that smaller schools can participate, and the usual World Cup rules are Flag Battles which means even small school like ourselves have a chance.”

“There’s a lot at stake, we can’t afford to just have chances,” says Ramirez.

You nod, closing up your book. “Precisely. But we also have to put the morale of the crew first, we lose them, we lose everything else.”

Nancy says, “We should watch the Japanese Nationals when we get the time, it’ll definitely show us how Japanese teams work. We’ll definitely face at least one or two in the tournament.”

You chew on a buffalo wing, swallow, then quickly down some soda. “We’ll get to it eventually, Nancy.”

“Sure, we can be there right quick if you don’t mind us.”

“Nah, it’s all good. Be really cool to see you come round here. See you in a bit.”

With that, your lunch is all finished up and you all cash in the check. You all exit the Pizza Hut and then proceed on over near the Sportsfield. As you walk, you look over on Kitten’s DS. She’s playing Chrono Trigger, and apparently she’s just lost to that huge Dragon Tank looking thing.

“Huh,” you say. “Looks like that guy just killed you.”

“Gee. Thanks for the lovely observation, Trudy,” says Kitten. She turns the DS off and pockets it, sighing.

“Oh, don’t be so sour, Kitten. Death is a lovely part of life! You know what Gandalf says in the Lord of the Rings. Death’s just another path we all must take.”

“Yeah, I’ll consider that when I’m on my deathbed and you’re holding my hand comforting me,” says Kitten, smirking.

“Oh, you’re implying you’ll die before me.”

With that, you all arrive at a small field outside of the Sportsfield. You see the Rifle Team girls apparently setting up shop with some rifles, guns, and other ammunition along with a clay pigeon launcher device.

Samantha holds up an M1 Garand, smiling as you approach. “Alright, any of you girls want to try shooting first? We don’t mind.”

> Staff Member (Nancy)
> Let the Rifle Team Go First

“Uh, Nancy, why don’t you take the reins first? You are the gunner after all.”

Samantha chuckles. “You know, if there’s anything Tankery taught me, it’s that the big guns are nothing like a Garand or an M1A.” She hands the Garand to Nancy then takes up an M1A laid out on a tarp on the ground next to a few other rifles. “Now, get your hearing protection on and make sure the finger’s off the trigger and the barrel’s not pointing at anything before you shoot, right?”

Nancy nods, hands gripping the rifle but nowhere near the trigger. “Right!”

“Natalya, set up a pigeon for us will you?” Natalya presses a button on the launcher. “I’ll take the first one, you take the second one, Nancy.”

The launcher fires a clay disc straight out at a 45 degree angle away from your group. In one smooth motion, Samantha cocks the rifles then quickly fires, putting a hole in it before it even reaches its peak. The launcher fires again, and Nancy clumsily raises her rifle and quickly fires, misses, fires again, then misses again, and the pigeon proceeds to shatter as it impacts the ground a long ways away.

Nancy looks over at Samantha, smiling and blushing nervously. “Oh, relax,” says Samantha. “Not everyone’s gonna get it on their first try. Here, let me show you a proper standing stance.”

You stand next to Nancy and Samantha. Nancy has gotten the proper stance down, but hasn’t got the moving target part with a rifle down yet.

“Hm,” Samantha scratches her chin. “Maybe we shouldn’t have started with rifles.”

“You guys always shoot with rifles?” you ask.

Megan nods, bring up two shotguns, handing one of them to you. “Of course, that’s how we were raised. Samantha’s dad taught her how to shoot birds with a rifle, my dad taught me how to get deer, and Natalya’s family is from Russia.”

“What does that have to do with anything?” asks Nancy.

“We don’t know,” says Samantha. “But she’s a crackshot.”

Megan nods. “Anyway, here you go.” She hands you two boxes of birdshot and buckshot. “This is what people actually use in clay pigeon shooting. Makes hitting it easier.”

You nod, fumbling around in loading a round into the pump action shotgun. “Okay. Think I’ll take a shot.” You copy Nancy’s stance with the rifle then aim the shotgun upwards. “Right, pull.”

The launcher fires, and you fire and completely miss. “Oh, fuck that hurt,” you say as you lower the shotgun and feel your shoulder.

Megan laughs. “Recoil’s a real bitch. You get used to it, and a good stance can help with that too.”

Samantha nods. “That’s about as good as you’ll get.”

“How long do I have to hold this?” Kitten asks.

Samantha says, “Just until the pigeon flies.”

With that, the pigeon flies, and Kitten fires, completely knocking herself on her ass. You look over and see the pigeon has actually shattered in the air. It appears Kitten actually got it. “Kitten! You got it!” you say.

Kitten looks over at you, shocked. “Did I? Shit, awesome!”

Samantha looks over. “Ramirez, you want a turn?” Ramirez walks over then picks up a shotgun and some hearing and eye protection. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

The pigeon fires, and Ramirez immediately pops it on first go.

You nod. “Alright, great! Hopefully you weren’t too attached to your T-34.”

Samantha shrugs. “Hey, maybe the Chi-Ha will grow on us. I know I was sad when my dad took away my first gun, an M1911 Colt .45 pistol.”

“Why’d he take it away?”

She shrugs and says, “Because I was using it to shoot squirrels.”

You break open the textbooks and start pouring your mind over the contents. Actually, now that you think about, you’re not sure which textbook you’ve opened, but since it’s got numbers in it, you assume its math. For good measure, you also start taking down notes.

Lisa looks down at you, “I’m impressed, Boss. You look like a regular straight-A student.”

You smile, beaming. “Really?”

“I said you looked like one, not that you were one.”

You exhale loudly. “Well, a girl can dream, can’t she? Speaking of which, can you get us improved suspension our Sherman, Lisa?”

She nods. “I’ll call up Mr. Mishka, have him sign off on it.”

Lisa says, “Say, what’s so great about Crimson Skies anyway?”

Nancy, Kitten, and you gasp at that. The thought that someone wouldn’t like Crimson Skies is as foreign to you as the concept of communism.

We're not easy eight yet, We need to be a m4a3 to be that

This almost makes me want to get that Sherman hull, since we've got the perk from the book. Install a 76mm on it and we've got a second Easy 8.
>>
>>29010505
Not easy 8 just yet, but we're getting there.

Which Ace had a ladyboner for the Easy 8 again? Kate?

Should totally put the Aces in a second E8 if we can get one.

we need more crew.

Bolter, I think. But yeah, E8 aces would be rather good.

You say, “It’s the greatest thing since Apple Pie, baseball, football, and fucking the Declaration of Independence! You got high action! Romance! Nathan fucking Fillion voicing Nathan Zachary! What else could you want!?”

Kitten nods violently. “Yeah, and you got all kinds of other recognizable voice actors. You got Cree Summer as Justine “Battleaxe” Perot. Luci Christian as Betty “Brooklyn” Charles, Scott Menville as Sparks! Steve Blum as… well practically almost all of the side characters but still!”

Nancy says as she brings in dinner, “And then there’s the dogfights! Planes go zooming and booming, turning and burning all of that stuff! It’s amazing!”

Lisa nods, smirking. “Alright, alright. Don’t to mean to tread on your fangirlism.” She shrugs. “Though honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Nathan Fillion.”

You get up close to her. “I swear, I will fucking deck you, you’re trying to make me mad you cheeky bitch don’t know who Nathan Fillion is.”

“Speaking of which,” says Kitten, “it’s on!”

You quickly sit down between Nancy and Kitten. “Oh boy! Time for the Crimson Skies of America!”

I think it's mostly joking, but I like our upgraded Sherman very much though.
>>

That is it for today. As usual, I will return tomorrow at 3 PM EST.

Twitter's here at: https://twitter.com/AdBa19

See you next time.
>>
>>29010674

You obviously know very little about tanks.
>>
>>29010679
Thanks for running today Schteel.
>>
>>29010698
I get upgrading are Sherman that we have but getting another one makes no sense to me rather get something that is german or russian

Thank you Schteel. Have a good night.

>>
Hmm... so if the Panzer IV gets applique armor + L/43, what could we get as a result? The F2 model?

>>29010707
Thanks, and see ya in the next thread.
>>
>>29010734
The later Shermans were very good tanks when compared to the earlier models.
>>
>>29010766
are you saying that german and russian tanks are bad
>>
>>29010771
I think that's the case
>>
>>29010786
Oh wow its like having good American, German and Soviet tanks are all mutually exclusive.
>>
>>29010786
Nothing against the russains but the germans do tend to over engineer their tanks.
>>
>>29010786
German? Eh, not really. Just a bit on the finicky side.
Russian? Yes.
>>
>>29010780
And the early models were on par with all other medium tanks in production at the time.

>>29010786
>German tanks
Good in theory, good in service, not so good in production numbers.
>Russian tanks
Gave Josef Stalin a very efficient way to kill Germans and Russians simultaneously.
>>
>>29010824
I agree but a lot of the issues the german tanks had likely would not show up during a match now I am not saying none of the issues would show up

and russian tanks tended to be pretty solid
>>
>>29010771
Alternatively we could equip the 75mm gun M3 to the Churchill and get the CHURCHILL NA75
>>
>>29010959
Eh, I'm not really a huge fan of the 75.
It's merely...adequate.
>>
>>29011195
I'm just saying it's an option.
>>
>>29011280
True.
>>
>>29011385
Any other guess of what we can turn?
>>
>>29011441
Commonwealth and Heer gun packs offer a bunch of options.
>>
>>29011441
Personally, I would ditch the S35, KV1s, Sentinel and the Jap tank. Downgrade the overly expensive shelter to the cheap tier then use that money to acquire an actual heavy tank or two, along with couple mediums and a light or two to fill out the roster. Then later work on getting a half dozen more mediums.
>>
>>29011542
>Sentinel

Why the fuck did we get that over the perfectly serviceable T-34 again?
>>
>>29011562
Dunno. Perhaps because it could eventually mount a 17pdr?
I don't particularly like T-34's either.

That being said, I would literally kill for a T-29, even though that would never happen
>>
>>29011562
Because it's one of the few ways to get a 17pdr.

Also because the AC4 was shaping up to be a genuinely quality medium/cruiser tank.
>>
>>29011599
Do you mean T-28 or T29?
>>
>>29011618
T29. The experimental heavy.
I just really don't like not having dashes. It's one of my pet peeves
>>
>>29011644
Dashes are for planes, bro. Tanks and guns don't need no fucking hyphens.
>>
>>29011666
Which is exactly why I use them, as I grew up talking about planes. So it's kind of habit by know.
>>
>>29011542
We're good for now, we need the tanks, and the shelter is a great morale booster
>>
>>29011737
We should paint the clubhouse with a big NO GIRLS ALLO-

Oh...wait a second...
>>
>>29011737
> Spend 40k on a clubhouse
> Could have spent it on tanks
Thanks Obama
>>
>>29011737
True but still. I just think it's stupid to spend 30k extra on a shelter when we could spend that money on making all of our tanks better.

But /tg/ has spoken, so I can't complain too much
>>
>>29011794
We were going to need an expanded shelter anyway. We have 11 tanks right now. One isn't on hand admittedly but we do need that room.

Also, we can hide stuff in there now. Anything we don't want Fredendall to see we can chuck in there and forget where we put the key.
>>
>>29011794
It's...a long term investment. They just started their sophomore year. Assuming the academyship survives, they'll be there for another two.

That's a long time to not have any sort of dedicated facilities.
>>
>>29011899
That would be a valid point

IF the continuation of the school didn't hinge on winning the tournament.
>>
>>29011931
The conditional survival of the school doesn't affect the necessity of dedicated club grounds
>>
>>29011794
Have our tanks damaged due to the weather without adaquete protection
>>
>>29011794
Having a space Fredendall can't touch, that has full facilities for OUR team and space to expand is worth it.
>>
>>29012154
Spending 40k on a warehouse and a bunch of other non-essential shit is a fucking waste of money if you can get the same with 10k
>>
>>29012431
> Bog Standard
10k for a warehouse to protect the tanks

> Palace
40k for a warehouse to protect the tanks, lounge (They have rooms that they always hang out in, like literally everyday after school), planning room (What separates this from any other room? A Whiteboard?), lockers (What's the point, this is on the other side of the Carrier, you trust everyone. No one is going to jack your shit), Showers (You have a fucking house, just live with it for the time it takes to get home from the training grounds)

Maybe something like pic related, if we've gone for the cheap route on the tank storage.

If it's easy to dismantle as well, we can relocate and repurpose it for school related activities, or even set it as a venue for the school play, if Fredendall tries to pull a fast one on us again.
>>
uhh, ffs once again I miss the thread and you retards go waste all of our money on something we don't need

what we do need are better upgraded tanks, and after selling the pershing, what do you do? immediately spend everything on no tanks at all.

good job GS, you've got the most retarded players ever.

Have you ever seen schoolgirls construct a shed? Because I have, and they're shit at it. Now ask them to make a shed that can stand up to whatever kinds of storms a ship can find itself in, and make it large enough to fit upwards of 10 AFV's in. It's a losing proposition. Building something that size takes time, time which would either cut into classes, tankery practice, and all the assorted odds and ends we get ourselves roped into. Here, we have a premade shelter, along with a central space to plan, meet, and research with the whole team that doesn't involve trying to squeeze 32 girls and a dog into a dorm room. We even have space to expand, which we sorely need if we're going to be competetive.
>>
>>29013389
Have you seen little girls drive a tank?
Just hang out in the Warehouse
