You slam the ball at Thomas as the creature retaliates, slamming a whip-like fist at Tom.

The fist hits the sphere with a loud keening sound, all the miniature spheres recoiling back. You expect it to remove a whole arm again, but instead the fist is shot back hard, and everyone moves away before it whips back again, stretching and creaking.

You attack again with a blast ball, hitting it in the head. The kinetic force sends the head flying, but it snaps back into place without any harm, standing there.

Thomas roars down at him, slamming his fist into the creature's chin in a devastating uppercut - which would have worked, but it seems unharmed by electricity or impact as it slams back into place and throws streamers at her, wrapping her tightly and making her fall over as she struggles.

Jean moves in to attack, but is too slow by far.

"JEAN!" you cry, launching another spell at her. Her body seems to vibrate, and then she nods, launching forth with a crack. The enemy barely has time to stumble away as Jean closes in hard and fast, slicing and dicing - one arm flies off, and a deep cut into its core slices it wide open, but it doesn't falter.

Suddenly Jean breaks off from him, her haste effect ending quickly, as dozens of nails - like slimmer variants of what pepper the landscape - nail between here and the Demon. The culprit lands between her and Periapt, and stands tall.

It looks like a man, almost, bulky with huge, oversized arms, hundreds of nails in its back, poking from its chest.

It reaches back, pulling one from its back with a soft, pleased hiss and gasp.

Jean moves in to assist as the needle monster throws another nail at Thomas - easily as wide as my wrist and as long as my arm - but Thomas throws his arm to one side. The needle veers off course, and he catches it, leaping at the beast and holding it over head.

Jean splits off, aiming for the bondage beast, cutting away band after band launched at her. She closes the distance and raises her blade to deal a strong blow.

FINISHING MOVE: KINETIC SPIN

The nail anchors itself in deep, spinning with a horrible keening noise. Thomas lets go and dashes away as it continues to scream and spin, the beast attempting to hold the earth, but failing as it spins with the nail, arms and legs flying off.

You raise a hand by instinct, and the crystalline core slaps into your palm as the nail stops, wrapped in bits and pieces of the monster.

Meanwhile, Jean is slowly being wrapped, her chest constricted as she screams in horror, bones slowly starting to crack.

"JEAAAAAN!" you roar, casting the ball at her. The sphere pushes at the binds, stretching them, creaking them, then snapping them, the peices flying off so fast that Thomas has to dodge one of them. Jean breaks free, and the next blow is shielded, making his fist bounce far off.

The arm is sliced off, then the head, then the body is sliced in half vertically, then the creeature is slashed outright in hal at the waist. She gives it a solid kick and the peices go flying off as she pants, coughing up blood.
