Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest!

The edition where I really REALLY hate finals!

Last time on Succubus Lord quest, the Belkarian Leader Fredika got her nerve back and challenged Shiva, Nalika’s mother, to a one-on-one duel. After a very impressive display of martial prowess from both sides, Nalika proved to be the clear winner. As Fredika recovered, she declared how she was going to head back to lead both the Belkarians and the fighter’s guild. Beers was had all around in celebration, with Brooklyn managing to escalate things a little *too* far with Nalika.

NOW GRAB A BEER AND PARK YOUR REAR! IT'S TIME TO KICK THIS THREAD!
>>
[1/2]

After quickly getting Nalika’s clothing and sending her out of your room before waiting about a half hour to leave your own, you head on down towards the common room. In the common room, you can see Wilhelmina sitting down in front of the window, sword on her lap as she appears to be meditating next to Mina. Nalika on the other the other hand is calmly sitting down at the table, sipping her own tea while she attempts to hide a small blush from her face.

Deciding to give them some space, you pull out an apple and spruce flavored tea and begin to boil the the water, thinking about the future. Since your... ‘encounter’ with Nalika last night, your aether reverses feel a bit topped off at least. Which is a good sign since the rest of the clans you’re going to want to convert will be a lot more tricky compared to the last. All for their own reasons.

Dr. Beck is the leader of the Miyians, in which right now the Miyians and the Okarians are in gang wars with each other. With this gang war going on for nearly hundreds of years, it appears Beck has little interest in stopping it. To add to complications, you’re an Okarian, so getting a direct personal visit with her may be difficult when many Miyians will want you dead for simply being an Okarian.

Matriarch Ishtar is the leader of the Aides, but at the same time the regional leader for the Church of Pamille. While she does sound like a noble person, there are reports of her getting her clan and church agendas into one. Considering she also treated the Queen’s as the top religious figureheads. Mary, Oksana’s daughter, warned you that while she was the biggest risk, she’d also have the largest payoff.
>>
[2/3]

The Gemelli leaders, Breeze and Sakura, effectively run what is considered the public information trade compared to the Laminian’s shadow market. While Mary said they wouldn’t tell about the Queen’s, there is no guarantee that other Gemelli’s may not. Plus with the Gemelli being the location expects, virtually every spot in their HQ would have ears. However they’re something you also don’t know much of, as Mary herself didn’t know that much about them or their politics.

The Ayarians, the race who probably suffered more than the Miyian’s when the Pride Demons took over. Their leaders were made into broken mockeries of their former selves, demonized to an extreme extent, and now live as the lowest class of Succubi that there is. Rebecca Hemmingway, the Ayarian Leader, leads both the Ayarian people and the Pride Demon Resistance on the outskirts of town. While you have no doubts that she’d join your cause, the fact that she’s an extremist could make some long term planning... difficult to say the least.

Aside from meeting the leaders, you still also have other side projects. One is to get a small group of Succubi up into the abandoned town North of Fort Hope. Arum, the Laminian Leader, is trying to jump start the project. However with the recent addition to the Okarian Leader and the Belkarian Leader, you wonder if you can get some better support for the project.
>>
[3/3]

Lastly, there’s your father who’s trapped within a Celestian university downtown. You’re not sure of his terms and conditions, but considering they never even let you contact you or any relatives sounds as if something is fishy. He may have been distracted at times, but he’d never forget such a thing intentionally. Getting him out of a Celestia patrolled university would also be no easy feat, even if you can make your aura signature look like a mortal.

“Brooklyn, the water is boiling.” Nalika warns you, intentionally not looking at you as she sips her tea.
>>
Also the second post was an ugly post with lots of eyesore text, which is now all compiled here!

Not really the second anymore it seems...

And yes, this is Sandact6 and now some other person who took over.

Iam lurking as I usually do.

Just to let you know Iam here.
>>
"So it is. Thank you Nalika." you reply as you take the kettle off of the stove top. "Where's everyone else?"

"Still in bed. We did all have quite a bit to drink last night, so it's no surprise some people are sleeping in." Nalika says as she looks at Mina and Wilhelmina meditating. "...Well except the Belkarian and the wannabe Belkarian."

"We heard you both last night." Wilhelmina flatly replies in response.
>>
>>28951443
Blush deeply, "Ah...Uh, well, so much for covering that up. Any chance I could get you to not speak further of this?"
>>
>>28951443
"Sorry, next time I'll be sure to invite you."

Drunken antics aside, should we convince the Belkarians and Okarians to get a group of succubi moving north? or should we see if we can drum up the aide of some of the other leaders?
>>
>>28951726
Should never admit it,

>>28951748
Ok, probably right. Changing >>28951726 to this.
>>
>>28951443
Ahahaha, well, who wants breakfast? CHANGE TOPIC, QUICK
>>
You blush a deep red as you hear this, looking over to Nalaki, she also has her hands covering her face in deep embarrassment.

“O-oh. I'm, ah, terribly sorry about that. I'll make sure to cast sound dampening enchants in futureso who wants breakfast!?” you ask trying to deflect the embarrassment.

“Succubi don’t need to eat.” Wilhelmina replies. “Unless you mean having a snack on Nal-”

“LALALA yes great song Wilhelmina!” you reply back to her as you sip your tea.

Your thoughts turn towards the Succubi village project, wondering if you should head on over to Arum to see if she’s laid out a foundation for the plan at least.
>>
>>28952147

Does Wilhelmina know about the project? if not we can change topics to that...
>>
>>28952206

She does not.
>>
>>28952219
We should probably tell her.

And then goto Arum, especially before anyone else wakes up and it gets more awkward
>>
>>28952219
Yeah, lets go ahead and tell her of this.
>>
>>28952219

Well then...

"I am planning on going to the Lamian Underground to discuss a project that Arum is spearheading. Back home at Fort Hope, a necromancer killed the entire population of a small village near by. The Fort's lord is encouraging people to relocate there, especially since the rampage of the previous lord... So we are trying to get a group of Succubi out of TO under the radar to also live in this village. It this works, then we can expand the operation range allowing everyone to have better access to aether..."
>>
>>28952219
"Would you care to hear a small project of mine, Wilhelmininina?"

"We're going to build a village of succubutts! The Laminian's will run the underground railroad, and it will be soon packed with a bustling community."
>>
You decide to change the subject to something that is actually constructive. It this works, then we can expand the operation range allowing everyone to have better access to aether.”

“Inquiry, what about actually getting any Succubi there.” Wilhelmina asks.

“The Laminian's will run the underground railroad, and it will be soon packed with a bustling community." you tell her.

“...Well it’d certainly be nice for Succubi to have a secondary village for themselves.” Wilhelmina states.

“Exactly! So let’s not waste further time and head out then shall we!?” you ask finishing your tea.

(Selection. Which three party members do you wish to take? The twins count as two yes. Wilhelmina included as you invited her.)

>>
You head down to the Laminian village after collecting the twins and Mina. It takes a bit of time for the twins to recover from their own hangovers, but they agree to eventually come with you after some time to freshen up in the morning.

As you approach the Laminian village, you can see that the repairs on the village are going quite well, but you’re surprised the amount of damage that the Brooklyn-Draugr managed to inflict on the village. A few holes in the sides of building are currently being rebuilt, while a small memorial to the people who were hurt or killed by the Brooklyn-Draugr are listed on the board. A total of three Succubi killed. You can only take a sigh and shake your head from the result.

Heading into the Lion’s head bar, you can see an immediate problem. Usually Arum’s ‘meeting room’ is on the secondary floor, but the entire floor was heavily damaged when Brooklyn-Draugr attempted to blow your head off. You have no idea to where Arum would be located to...

“Stacy, Katlin. Do you hear the place where Arum could be?” you ask.

The twins take several seconds, looking around as they have confused expressions on their face.

“A-Apologies Lady Brooklyn. We’re still getting used to sorting out voices from one another.” Katlin replies.

“No problem, take your time.” you say encouraging the girls.

After about ten more seconds, the twins point down towards a staircase heading down. “I hear a large crowd talking about Arum down there.” Stacy says.

“Then let’s go have a look!” Mina says as she heads over to the staircase.

As you reach down below, the first thing you notice the rather large crowd. A large amount of Laminians, but a few cheering men down there too. As you stand by the stairs, you notice what appears to be Arum on the stage, dressed in what appears to an exotic harem uniform. Bightly coloured light blue silk underwear can be seen covering her up, but she also dances using transparent cloths and light blue pants, a smile behind her veiled face as she seems to dance to the music.

“...My word... She’s like a snake...” Katlin says.

“Does... Does she have any bones in her body?” Stacy asks.

You must’ve caught her at the end, for after one more leap and a bow, she heads off the stage leaving a cheering crowd behind, heading over to what appears to be a private table.
>>
>>28953713
Well, let's see if there is an unoccupied table. It wouldn't do having too much attention drawn to us asking after her right away.

“I’ll take a few shots from a few drinks.” you say to a nearby waitress. Enough to get a bit tipsy, but certainly not enough to get stone cold drunk and make an ass of yourself.

******

“Aaaannnddddd.... here’s the last two!” Mina says as she takes the last two shot glasses, pouring them into a heavily blushing but smiling Stacy while another heavily blushing Laminian girl dressed up in a harem outfit also has some poured in.

Taking off your hat, you bend over and simply inhale the drinks from both of them. Stacy jumps at first, feeling the liquid coming out of her own navy and spilling some of the drink. The Laminian girl however simply seems to chuckle as you drink the shot out of her own navel. Both of the shots appearing to taste sweeter than usual, but that’s probably because of their own emotions.

After having the drink, you raise your hands up in the air in victory, the entire crowd around you cheering as you do so.

Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Arum getting up from her own spot, being flanked by two Laminian guards in leather armour as she heads towards the stairs.

“Say... You wouldn’t be free tonight, would you miss?” The Laminian harem dancer whom you had a body shot off of.

“Sorry, sweetheart, I have a hot date this evening." you say as you help Stacy up, giving her a wink before you begin to head off towards Arum.

“Sister! I can’t believe you did such a thing!” Katlin says running up next to her sister.

“Well, as the people in the Old World said, ‘You Only Live Once’.” Stacy says holding up her finger.

“But you’re the one who nags me all the time about being ladylike you hypocrite!” Katlin replies back to her in a huff.

“Arum!” you say flagging her down.

“Awe, your dance was amazing.” Wilhelmina compliments her.

“I’m half-tempted to ask for a private dance!” Mina adds.

The guards never to Arum put their hands on their weapons, but Arum holds out her hands to reassure them. “Private dances only go towards the one I love. By the way Brooklyn, I see that you’ve been enjoying some of my dancer girls.”

...Oh shit here comes the verbal smackdown.

“Don’t hold back on my account. If you want to go out with a few of them by all means. Most of them are looking for a relationship for a fling anyways.” Arum replies.

“Aaahhh Laminians. The bachelorette's of the Succubi race.” Mina states.

“We do have such a reputation yes.” Arum replies.

>>
>>28956887
yeah, kind of blabbering about sensitive information in the only way in and out [I assume] is the easy way for it to fall into the wrong ears.
>>
>>28956887
>>28956959
But there's nothing sensitive in what was said, we're already acting suspicious by virtue of getting friendly with two of the mover and shaker of the succubus society.

"I assume you've heard about That fight in the Fighters guild?"

"Only thing crazyer would be a high ranking chair! Gah, that'd be absolutely mental"

>>28957021
Implying that there is some plan in the works rather than simply some upstart ingratiating herself to her betters is letting out more than needs to be shared in public. If they want that info, they had ought to have to dig and put more things together. We don't need to do spies' jobs for them.
>>
>>28957087
Except knowing there's a plan could be ranging from having a three way to open revolution, it means nothing.
>>
[1/2]

“Mind if we can have a drink in private?” you ask Arum.

“Only if you don’t mind a quick one. I’ve got other things to attend to shortly.” Arum replies.

“Not a problem at all.” you say as you begin to follow Arum to a private room. You can’t help but sneak a look at her swaying hips, then quietly think about how god damn lucky Arum’s boyfriend must be.

Instead of going to what appears to be a normal table, Arum instead brings you into a broom closet. All of you just barely fitting shoulder to shoulder as Arum stands near the back.

“Pardon taste of the meeting place, but ever since the upstairs was blown up in that attack, my office is still being rebuilt.” Arum states.

“Sorry for leading that... monster here Lady Arum.” Stacy apologies as she presses hard against your shoulder due to lack of room.

“You didn’t know he’d be outside, so such an apology is not needed. ...You did make sure he didn’t follow you back right?” Arum asks.

“He’s regenerating. He couldn’t follow me unless he tried.” you reply to Arum.

“So what’s the purpose of your visit?” Arum asks. “I doubt you only came here to see me dance.”

“That’s correct. I mainly came to ask about the status update about the village project.” you reply.

“Things have been stalled since the recent attack. My main suppliers were spooked by the Draugr attack and have been buying extra security or training new security. However I am progressing with the plans. Right now I’m searching for possible recruits to put up to the camp.”
>>
[2/2]

“Do you have anyone in mind?” Katlin asks.

“Any Succubi would like to get out of Old TO, but I have been looking the more diplomatic side of things. Okarians, Belkarians, Laminians, Gemelli and Aides generally fare well for themselves in Old TO. The Miyians and Ayarians however have had only lives of living hells. I was going to try and ensure a somewhat healthy mix of Succubi, but I’m going to have more room than I thought on the underground railroad. Knowing that you still need to talk to Beck or Rebecca, having an influx of Miyian or Ayarian refugees safe haven, then such a thing would give you a bit of a leverage point when dealing with either one of them.” Arum explains.

“Can’t we take both?” Mina asks.

“Yes, but both the Ayarians and Miyians have a backlog of Succubi who just want out of Old TO, mainly large groups applying and on the waiting list for years. It’d be difficult to split up the groups and have less political clout when you deal with the Miyians or Ayarians.” Arum states.

(Going to bed, will post updates in the morning)
>>
>>28957297
"I can likely get the fighter guild to help now that Fredrika is back on her feet. I also guess that mean I'll have a talk with Rebecca before Ishtar. I don't know if putting off dealing with the feud between the Okarian and Miyian is the best but I'd rather have all the allies I can before opening that can of worm. That's if I don't get too much in trouble for meeting my father."

>>
>>28957297
>>28957455
Actually, this would be a great bargaining point to help the Miyians. I can already see that one way or another relationships will be strained, so we need to find a way to help both groups here.

“Bring it to the Miyians. The Ayarians may be problematic to recruit using Rebecca, but given who I am I’m going to need that extra leverage to deal with the Miyians.” you say. “Just try to pick Miyians who are not a part of the gang war. No offense, but we don’t need that hate spreading outside of Old TO. Same for Okarians.”

“Already ahead of you there Brooklyn. I intended to only pick the level headed Succubi.” Arum states.

“Um... Isn’t Rebecca going to be pissed when she reads Brooklyn’s mind and finds out she picked the Miyians over the Ayarians?” Mina asks.

“Let her read Brooklyn’s mind. She’ll understand why Brooklyn did what she did.” Arum states.

“I’d rather not have my mind read if at all possible.” you retort.

“You’re going to be going to the Ayarian city. Your mind is probably going to be read at least a dozen times by curious Ayarians before you even get to Rebecca. Depending on the mood Rebecca is in, she may demand to read your mind before doing any sort of heavy duty business with you.” Arum states.

...The Queen’s you don’t mind, but you’re not sure if you’d like to be known that you’re actually a guy.

“Is there any way to prepare for the barrage of mind invasion attempts?” you ask.

“Could go to a magic shop. I’m pretty sure they’ll have a will boosting potion or mind shield spell.” Arum suggests.
>>
>>28963213
anychance we can have the knowledge of the queens in our head protected and warded?

would be kinda bad if every single Ayarian we pass in the street learns of their existence
>>
>>28963361
derp, didn't read last line in >>28963213

although it would be good to get a more permanent shield that the pride demons or anyone else couldnt break
>>
>>28963213
Hmm, could we use spatial magic (once we're good enough) to redirect mind reading attempts to other local psyches?
>>
>>28963454

You could try to switch targets yes.
>>
>>28963213
We were aware that Ayarian town would likely blow our cover and were prepared for it. also the fact that we've been a guy is of little to no importance since we're still thinking of ourself as a guy anyways.
>>
>>28963213
"Yes, well, that's something we'll definitely have to investigate. Lots of secrets locked up in here."
>>
Well deep down you know this was to be expected, having your cover blown before you even get to talk to the leaders in detail about the Queen’s. Still, a more permanent shield would be nice just in case every single Ayarian in the street would possibly know of such things.

“Any way to deal with Ayarians so my brain isn’t an open book?” you ask Arum.

“Learning how to bolster your mind naturally is the best way. Some skills, like the Belkarian focus, provide some mental resistance. Mind Control, as in the magic control dealing with mental magic, has a lot of focus on the mental defense. If not, find an Okarian and get them to cast a mind shield spell on you. You’re an Okarian, so with access to the library it isn’t hard.” Arum explains. “If you want to shortcut it, you could find a ritual to help boost your mental fortitude. Just keep in mind that not every Ayarian will know some form of mind reading capability.”

(Anything else you wish to ask? If not, what do you want to do next?)

“Thanks for the advice Arum. We’ll be heading off now.” You say to her.

“Good luck out there.” Arum says as you leave.

Deciding to get a will boosting potion and deal with Rebecca, you head on over to Madison’s shop to see if she has a will boosting potion.

“Welcome to Mad Maddie’s Magic Em- Oh hello Brooklyn.” Madison says as you enter the store.

“Pleasure to see you Madison.” you reply.

“Oh you two know each other?” Stacy asks.

“Yes. Brooklyn is part of my study group in the library.” Madison replies.

“Do you have any will boosting potions?” you ask.

“Naturally. Second isle to the left. Iskunder’s is the most effective assuming you don’t throw it up the instant you swallow it.” Madison suggests.

“...Hey, what’re these potions?” you ask looking at about 49 different potions that seem to swirl about with the same flaming colours as the Succubi Queen’s summoning colours.

“They’re called Tryout. You’re lucky to come now as I literally just put them out on display no less than a minute ago. It’s a rare potion which, if taken before bedtime, allows a Succubus to live out a day as another type of Succubi in a dream state.” Madison replies. “Usually they’re snapped up in the first 20 minutes, let alone an hour. It’s quite rare to come by and difficult to make, but it doesn’t stop the Laminians from coming here en masse to buy out nearly the entire stock.”
>>
>>28964506
Take an ayarian tryout, an iksunder willpower potion and another one just in case we throw up the iksunder one too just to try it out.
>>
>>28964506
I'll second >>28964577

>>
>>28964506
>Iskunder
Why is this name familiar
>>
>>28964828
Because Iskandar is the eastern reading of Alexander

As in, Alexander the great
>>
>>28964836
I mean, I feel like we've read it somewhere else in the quest before too.
>>
You take the Tryout potion that is glowing in the flames of Janine. You were curious about being an Ayarian, so you might as well give it a shot for yourself. You then pick up a will potion before heading to the checkout.

“Do you know any Okarians who’d give someone a mindshield spell?” you ask Madison.

“Several. Mind Control isn’t that popular amongst Succubi as we have innate social magics, but it does have some practicers. It’d mainly depend on whenever you want something cheap or really high grade. The really high tier mindshields can easily cost a fortune, up to nearly 200 gold per day, but some newbies might cast it for only 8 copper. Whenever you get your money’s worth is debatable. I usually just use the potions or get somewhere within the middle of the path for mind shield prices.” Madison explains to you. “...Excuse me, be careful with that.”

Looking behind for a brief second, you can see Mina balancing what appears to be a dried up blowfish on her finger.
>>
>>28964577
I say we get the potion for Ada. I don't see the value for Brooklyn.
>>
>>28964890
Because the second or third most popular choice when we got to choose our clan was Ayarian.

"If you spoil it you pay it Mina."
>>
“...W-What is that?” you ask.

“Pufferfish. The needles are used for potion reagents.” Madison replies.

“...Be careful Mina. You break it you buy it.” you warn Mina. “Is there anything else I need to know about this Tryout potion?”

“Hm... There have been reports of the dream lasting nearly a few days, but that’s fairly uncommon.” Madison replies.

(Anything else before heading out to the Ayarian hideout?)

>>
[1/2]

“Thank you for the potions Madison.” you reply giving her a sum for the potions.

“You’re quite welcome.” Madison says as you all head out the door.

******

Following the instructions that Ada gave you for the Ayarian base, you can see that it does lead you towards the outskirts of the town itself. No longer are buildings seen in themselves, but rather just jagged metal pillars and the flipped over husks of old world vehicles buried underneath large piles of snow. After about a half hour of walking out of Old TO, you can see what appears to be a ruined apartment building, heavily damaged with large blast marks on the side of the building.

“...Wow... No wonder the Ayarians are so upset.” Katlin says.

“Yes, being driven out and forced into such a horrid looking structure such as this...” Stacy says.

“Well... Let’s go say hello then shall we?” you ask holding the will potion up for everyone.

“Cheers!” Everyone says before downing the potion in one gulp. You feel the potion coming down, incredibly thick and horrifically bitter in of itself.

“Oh... Oh my word!” Stacy says coughing.

“Yea... That’s the one thing I hate about potions. They all taste horrible.” Mina says putting the empty bottle back into the back.

“...I kinda like it.” Katlin states, getting stares from all three of you.

“Let’s get going before this stuff wares off then, shall we?” you ask heading towards what appears to be the ruins.

You all head into the building and head down the stairs, recalling some heavy deja vu as you remember the path to the Queen’s. However once you head down several floors, you reach a place where the wall texture suddenly seems a bit more different than normal. Going off a gut instinct, you throw up a minor space spell to map the area.
>>
[2/2]

“...Yea this place is a literal maze. My space spell can see a section of it, but this appears to be a fairly large maze in of itself.” you tell everyone.

“...Be careful Brooklyn. We can see some mental magic at work here as well.” Katlin replies.

“Do you know what it is?” you ask the twins.

Stacy shakes her head. “We do not have much experience in psychic matters no.”

“...Damn I wish Sebastien was here to help us with this.” you mutter to yourself as you step into the maze.

(Roll to try and navigate the maze. The higher then the quicker you get through it. Too low and you get lost. Space magic is helping, but it only allows you to see a section of the maze)

ok, here's a few months worth of stuff i always wanted to write into these threads but i somehow NEVER managed to do it

either i completely missed the thread or i got in just before it was deleted

in the end i just started writing everything down, i apologize if any of this has already come up since then

>wasnt brooklyns eye color supposed to be blue? its blue and brooklyn practices shifting it to green in one of the early threads, but then when we meet excel and how she looks its implied she looks pretty much exactly like brookly, but has brown eyes?
>what kind of parents exactly named their daughter excel and their son brooklyn?
>i wanted to suggest a screw up happening in front of brooklyns sister and uncle that reveals brooklyn is a succubut - theyre family, worst that would happen is excel gets even more jealous and the sibling rivalry intensifies, all in all it would be entertaining, eventually it might move onto excel becoming a succubus herself which may annoy brooklyn for extra entertainment value
>i also wanted to suggest some kind of incident happens where brookly is found out to be a demon lord by nature in front of the okarian study group
>i wanted to ask who the hell had the bright idea to not bring ada when we went to meet with the laminians, suggest bringing erica, leona, ada and mina next time we have to choose four people to go somewhere with

ok, that's about half of the list, i pruned the rest out

i finally have that out of my system, yay

It takes some time to navigate the maze, literally the better part of a few hours. This is mainly because as you go through the maze, you discover that even with the map some places in the maze actually changed. With what the twins said early, you think this is a sort of mind alteration psychic ‘spell’ of sorts.

Thankfully the map does help, and you eventually manage to get to the end of the maze. At least to assume it to be the end of the maze, for at the end you can already see two Succubi armed with crossbows pointing the crossbows at you as you come around the corner.

“Don’t move.” the Succubi demand from all of you. A few seconds go by, before they finally speak up. “...What’s your purpose here?”

The mind potions must’ve worked. If the Ayarian village security is worth their salt, these girls can read minds, but now they can’t read your minds so now they’re asking questions.

“The purpose of our trip here today is diplomatic relations.” you reply.

“Inquiry, Can you also please not point those crossbows at us. We’re Succubi too.” Wilhelmina says as she let’s her Succubi traits out.

The two Ayarians look at each other before lowering their crossbows. “Diplomatic relationships with Rebecca?”

“That’d be correct!” Mina replies.

“You’ll need to make an appointment to see Rebecca. Head towards the headquarters to do so.” A door guard says.

“...Wow that was surprisingly simple.” Katlin replies.

“It’s a holdover from the days when Queen Janine reigned over the village. All Succubi are allowed to have an audience with the Village Leader.” the door guard replies.

“No suspicious movements. And Okarians... You better not be casting any sort of strange spells of bringing that gang war bullshit into the village.” The second door guard replies.

“Perish the thought.” Wilhelmina replies as you all enter the underground city.

Upon entering the city, the difference between the Laminian city and the Ayarian one is as different between night and day. While the Laminian village was a well constructed down that existed underground, the Ayarian village is nothing but a shantytown that is built out of cobbled together pieces of old world architecture. There are some fairly well down and imaginative buildings, but the majority of the buildings are that of a poor refugee town. The temperature is actually fairly temperate, which is good as the slave pen which has nearly naked humans for sale would have problems showing off their stock.

The twins immediately go closer to you, grabbing each one of your arms as they look onto the slave pen, both of them shaking as they recall horrible memories.

"Things must be really bad for a slave market to be operating out in the open like this." Mina says with a small sigh.
>>
>>28967075
"Something to discuss with Rebecca. We should also see if we can fix the building with Earth control."
>>
>>28967075
"As much as I would like to help the slaves immediately, we may not have a place for them, and it doesn't solve the practice or what has happened to them. Lets see what help we can offer Rebecca, and what she us will to do, then we can offer help personally.

And keep in mind that while Slavery is horrific, to openly do this means the village can't be doing much better.
>>
>>28967075
"Bad in what way? Too many succubutts?"
>>
>>28967396

"As much as I would like to help the slaves immediately, we may not have a place for them, and it doesn't solve the practice or what has happened to them. Lets see what help we can offer Rebecca, and what she us will to do, then we can offer help personally.” you suggest to the twins before heading over to the headquarters.

You can tell that the headquarters is grand... or at least it used to be. It’s obvious that this village has been raided more than once, with the white stone pillars now scorched and shattered. Windows that are broken are simply boarded back up. A fair number of guards can be seen amidst the front of the building, some of them even showing off by having a weapon float next to them while talking to some other guard nearby.

“Hello, may I help you?” the receptionist asks with a spanish accent as soon as you enter, actually wearing what appears to be reinforced leather armour.

“...Yes I’d like to make an appointment with Rebecca if at all possible.” you reply.

“OK, the next available appointment will be at 8:00 PM tonight. I only need a few questions before the appointment. Such as your names and castes of your companions, the type of demon that you are, and the purpose of your visit.” The receptionist asks passing you what appears to be a large large leather bound ledger with a quill and ink bottle.

You read over the book carefully, seeing that it is indeed a ledger for those who visit Rebeeca. “Purpose of the visit, hmm? I suppose you could chalk it up to potential diplomatic expansion?"

“Where’s Rebecca right now?” Mina asks.

“In her office, but she’s quite busy right now.” the receptionist asks. She hesitates for a few seconds before turning back to you. “Diplomatic expansion? May I ask who you represent? Please note that the penalty for wasting Rebecca’s time with gang related affairs is hard labour.”

“Very well, have a pleasant day.” The receptionist replies as you all leave to exit the area.

“Hm... I’m not sure what these materials are made out of...” Stacy says as she inspects a few of the buildings. “Usually I can tell if they’re made out of elements such as stone or steel, but these materials are a bit... odd.”

“No surprise. Old world materials do that to people who use Earth control.” Wilhelmina says.

“Yes, the Old World had a much better grasp on materials that we do now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is made of substances that we can no longer actually replicate.” you add.

“Well we have nearly five hours to kill. What are we going to do in the meantime?” Mina asks.

“I’d like a bath.” Wilhelmina replies.

“I thought the cafe looked fairly charming in of itself.” Katlin adds.

Hm... Summoning Janine would be tempting here, but the problem is finding a safe place would be tricky.

“Well I see no reason we can’t do all of those things. Come on, we’ll have a look around this town and see what they have to offer.” you reply.

As you all have a tour through the town, you see it’s some bizarre mixture of a both carefully managing resources during wartime but also a lot of free market... or more accurately black market. Things that are considered highly illegal are being sold throughout the streets rather casually. Drugs, poisons, human slaves, brothels, even magical weapons for amazingly high prices. Unlike Fort Hope, you don’t see any mercenary companies doing their advertisements, which is a bit of a shame as you would’ve liked to hire Ayarian mercenaries. The cafe you visit makes it seem like the Ayarian village is hardly doing hard off at all, with many Succubi all having tea while others are talking it up. True to what Mary and Janine said, there are other Succubi types to be seen here other than Ayarians, but the Ayarians still have a clear majority. You do notice that quite a few Okarians and other Succubi have opened up shop here, with nearly every single one always having a few Ayarians inside them. With the Ayarians being unable to cast magic, you suspect that the Okarians here must be making a royal living.

After getting some time in a hotel for a bath, you all enter the room and get into the large tins of water for you all to relax in. You’re not used to the large tubs of water, them feeling rather cramped when compared to expansive baths of Fort Hope.

“...Well it may not be Fort Hope, but it sure is nice to have a bath.” Katlin says.
>>
[2/2]

“Um... Lady Wilhelmina. All of the... slave markets here. Is that... you know... legal?” Stacy asks her.

“But of course. The Ayarians have always been known for doing such a thing. Even Janine herself did it.” Wilhelmina replies.

“Janine too!?” you exclaim.

“Yes, but don’t worry. Selling Succubi slaves is highly illegal.” Wilhelmina replies. “Inquiry, are you somehow disturbed by this. They’re only mortals.”

“O-Only mortals!?” Both Katlin and Stacy gasp.

Mina herself appears to be keeping her head down, blowing bubbles underwater as she stays out of the conversation.

...It appears the Queens were not kidding when they talked about Janine’s feelings on mortals...
>>
>>28969748
"Me and my friends are what you might call humanists. Probably because a large number of us were mortals earlier in our lives, myself included. Personally, I find it ironic that they support slavery, considering what the pride demons have done to them in the past."

So one of the key differences between succubi and other demons is supposed to be that a succubus regenerates aether much slower. How much slower is that? 10% of the average demon? Less? More?
>>
"Only mortals? Like we are 'only succubi' to the Pride Demons?" you ask Wilhelmina.

“I di-”

"No, that's wrong, the mortals are even more than that seeing that they're actually necessary for our survival while as we aren't necessary for the pride demons." you tell Wilhelmina. “Even if you don't think they're your equals, surely you realize how idiotic it is to take them for granted. As for Stacy and Katlin, this is very much a personal matter for them as for me, as we all grew up in an environment and were raised primarily by mortals. Also remember that we grew up fairly sheltered of other Demonic cultures. I’ve read about them, but I’ve never actually seen them in practice until coming here.”

Wilhelmina goes to say something, but instead she simply goes back down into her tub while muttering phrases in Russian. Turning on your aura sight, you can see that Wilhelmina appears to have a silver aura (sad), while the two twins seem to have a bright red aura (anger).

(Say anything else or do you bathe in awkward silence?)
>>
>>28970367
considering the queens i was thinking almost non existent. Wonder if their is a opposite end of the spectrum like war casters in iron kingdoms. their regeneration rate IS their max mana pool.
>>
>>28970367

About 1%. It's basically stagnant when compared to other demons.
>>
>>28970461
So if it would take a regular demon a few hours to fill a certain amount, it might take a succubus a week.
>>
>>28970461

Though, I imagine other Demons can't draw energy as easily/well as succubi?

Wonder how much energy a clash between armies would put into the air.
>>
>>28970527
Yeah, that was the main point. Succubi can go out and "hunt" for aether much more easily than other demons.
>>
>>28970554

Which means that Succubi both have really terrible and really good endurance long term. They can go from nearly empty to full very quickly with help but sans help are basicly fucked.

I wouldn't be suprised if some of the less ethical warrior succubi just kept humans about as mana batteries.
>>
>>28970429
Try to change the subject. Wilhelmina is obviously thinking about her attitude to mortals according to our aura sight. We need something to do for the few hours anyway.
>>
>>28970589

didn't we at one point, from a purely meta point of view, consider a human aether battery for the Queens? basically getting a bunch of people, encouraging extremes of emotions within them in proximity to the shrine so the Queens could soak up the aether....

Then there was the idea to start a Aether Regalis plant, until we discovered it is created by torturing a person over an extended duration slowly draining them of all aether until they eventually die....

seems like the most efficient methods of gathering huge quantities of aether are morally ambiguous...
>>

>I wouldn't be suprised if some of the less ethical warrior succubi just kept humans about as mana batteries.

Check the Twitter on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Also, the random scheduling was due to Finals. Maybe also hang out in the IRC chat room?

Sand REALLY needs to put the Twitter and stats page link in the first post. >_>
>>
>>28977006
>>28977212
Sand doesn't have the Twitter at the top of the Gdoc, so here it is:
https://twitter.com/Sandact6
>>
>>28977212
and also link to the thread in twitter
>>
>>28977245
>>28977212
ove been in this quest for like 10 threads and this is the first time ive seen this, lol
>>
>>28977290
And Sand was saying in IRC how he will probably need to rebuild his following after the whole 'no thread due to finals' thing. I'll annoy him about it.

The length has to do with two things:

1) Me wanting to think about what sort of Rebecca will want from you or want you to do.

2) Being on a computer network where my ping isn't nearly +400 or so due to roommate constantly streaming himself doing drums on twitch.

oh, i was just thinking about something and i can ask since youre here

so, brooklyn can do that big shadow form thing in a fight, how common is such a level of power among other succubi, and okarians specifically? is the fact that we can do that related to our demon lord nature, or would similar things be common to the people we meet in the okarian library?
>>
>>28978644

Average level means that, literally average. While it is extremely rare for a Succubi to have every control at average, one should not be surprised to see a Succubi (or any demon actually) to have a control at this level if they have it. Footsoldiers en masse are feasibly able to have something like this.

Good is a step up. Technically only specialists have something akin to this. Bit harder to find, but you can find Succubi who really dedicate themselves to have this. Elite soldiers would have controls at this level. Okarians and Greed Demons, whose magical power is the main offense, have this as the footsoldier control level.

Great! level is something that a rare individual has. The elite of the elite soldiers are expected to either have one level at great or be at a large number of good controls.

Awesome! rank is something only a scattered handful of people have. Madison for example has Death Control Awesome! (not that she ever uses it anymore). People with these level of spells can casually warp reality and can command very high prices for expertise within their area for such things as extend duration magics. Typically only heroes have this sort of ranking.

One you get into rankings higher than Lord, this classification system mainly goes out the window.

Also note that the power of magic means nothing if you don't know how to use it. You can get your ass clobbered by a person with Good level control even if you have Awesome level if you don't know how to use it.

so the black flame hunter is more akin to a notorious serial killer or something

not incredibly amazing, just the sort of thing that happens from time to time
>>
>>28980085
Maybe a bit more freaky than most, darkness control is supposed to disturb or cause fear much more than the other types of magic.
