Today might be a short session due to unexpected lunch plans.

You are Freja-Signi Bjornsdottir, a 14 year-old Einherjar pilot. Currently, you and fellow pilot Karl Brunson is on the subway headed for the education district of Midgard, which is part of the Yggdrasil megastructure. The time is school time. "You know, that was a close one." Karl makes small talk.
"Yeah, Helga's car is a death-trap. How does she fit all that horsepower in there?"
"I never felt good afterwards."
"I didn't feel anything afterwards."
You and Karl laugh it up a bit.
"By the way, I heard we'll have a transfer student next week, from one of the other megastructures. I hear she's a hottie!"
"Karl, why are you telling me this?"
Karl looks elsewhere. "Well, uh, maybe you could be friends with her?"
>say:

"Having more people to talk to is a good thing."
>>

"You know, maybe I will. Who knows? Having more people to talk to is a good thing."
You see that Karl is now staring in awe at you, looking at your eyes. Somehow, that makes you awkward, in a way.
"Wow, I never thought you're... like that, you know." Karl says, blushing.
You immediately pick up the subtext. "If you are implying I am some sort of lesbian, by the gods, I'm gonna cave that face of yours."
"Wait, no, what? Not like that!"
Thankfully, the subway reached your destination before you can apply fist to Karl's face; Not like you even want to anyways.
The nice thing about your school is that it got its own subway station stop, so as soon as you and Karl step out the subway, you're in school grounds already. Looking around, you see the various food vendors still closed, opening only at recess and lunch break. As you two ascend and head to your homeroom (both of you have the same homeroom), you are greeted by one of your schoolmates.
>who is it?
[ ] Hilde Geirridr, fellow pilot, turns out her homeroom is next door.
[ ] Sigmar Leifson, part bro part jock, same homeroom. Has history with Karl.
[ ] Ingrid Thorbjorn, local stuck-up diva, probably gonna try to humiliate you and fail.

More time with Hilde, who is a good team player and is a much better conversationalist than Karl.

"Hey, Freja." Hilde's soft voice drifted from the hallways. You turn around, and there she is, waving a little at you and Karl. "Did you hear about the new transfer student next week?" she asks.
"Oh hey, your homeroom's next door! Yeah, seems to be the talk of the school, currently." You reply.
"I hear she's got nice butt!" Karl blurted out.
You are about to put him on a suplex, but then another voice rang out from the hallways, one that is as annoying, if not worse, than Karl's comments.
"Well, if it isn't the stupid couple and the slient kid!" You know the voice, and it gives you irritation to no end. Ingrid Thorbjorn, local stuck-up diva, holder of current 'most popular girl' title. She continues her verbal assault.
"Still hanging out with these two losers, Hilde? You know, stupidity is contagious!"
You can see Hilde's face going deeper in pokerface, and you're not sure of what it meant.
>do/say:
[ ] Threaten. "Well I bet the new transfer student is going to be more popular than you, so buzz off!"

You sense that Hilde is getting kinda annoyed at Ingrid. "Hilde, don't listen to her! As she said, stupidity is contagious, so you better stick with us than her."
Ingrid's face still retains her smug superiority for another ten seconds before she realizes the subtext. "Hey! Are you calling me stupid?" She basically shrieked.
You sigh. Then you see Karl. "Karl, you know what to do."
"Huh?" was Karl's last words before you pick him up by the collar and belt, and launched him onto Ingrid and her band of sycophants.
As the frenzied shrieking of 'pervert' and 'eww cooties' began, you turn from your handiwork to Hilde. "Don't worry about Karl, he's already stupid enough that he's immune to their stupid."
Hilde manages to smile, slightly.
"All right, all right, what's going on here?"
Oh snap, it's Mr. Janni, your homeroom teacher!

"Karl collided with Ingrid, sir." You quickly pointed out.
"Karl? I told you not to run around the hallways! Must you be reminded again?" Mr. Janni's mustachioed face crumples into a slight frown.
"Uh, sir, I was being chased by Freja here..." Karl retorts from the body pile, smiling slightly.
You pick up the cue. "Only because you slapped my behind!"
"Now, enough, you two hooligans! Take your seat! I've seen enough. Karl, apologize to Freja! Freja, help him up and to his desk! Ingrid, off to your own homeroom!" He then lumbered towards the teacher's desk. "Kids these days..." he mumbled to himself.
As you pull Karl from the heap, Ingrid hisses. "Don't think you two are off the hook yet! I'll be back!"
Ingrid and her sycophants pull themselves together and skitters to their own homeroom, while you and Karl walk to your desks. "Sorry, Freja, but nice thinking there."
"Don't mention it. I hope Hilde didn't get harassed further though."
As you take a seat, you hear someone in the back whispering loudly. "Bad-ass! You told her what for!"
You turn around, and detected that it was Sigmar who whispered.
>say/do:
[ ] Uncertain. "Uh, thanks?"

"What's her deal, anyways?"
Sigmar, who sits just right behind you, leans in closer to whisper.
"Rumor has it, she's actually worried that the new girl will probably be more popular than her. You know how bitchy Ingrid is! With her being the arena captain and all... Someone needs to put her in her place, and that someone might be you!"
"You serious?"
"Duude, you might not know it, but there's some fans of you, you know?"
"Let me guess, you're one of them?"
"Uhh... you didn't hear this from me, yo."
Sigmar retracts back to his desk, while Mr. Janni does the roll call. After a while, school starts, and it's mostly ordinary. Maths, then language, and then P.E. Arena. One of your favourite classes. Here, students are taught the finer arts of melee fighting using boffer swords, padded poles and the like. You see the other kids lining up for their weapons...

Of course, you choose the boffer sword; After all, we use it in our Einherjar, so we are most familiar to it. One by one, the kids are being matched with each other. You see Karl squaring off in boxing gloves against a girl with a sword; It seems like Karl has good dodging skills, but still lost by points. You also see Hilde, using a pole; two boys tried to challenge her, but both were knocked out, one after the other. It is your turn to fight, and it's Sigmar on the other side of the ring. A pole on his hands, he bowed before getting into a stance. "Freja! Have some mercy on me, yes?"
"Don't count on my words, though!"
Remember, although we do have a sword, we do not have the shield our Einherjar has.

First come first serve, luckily!

You see that he has a long-ranged weapon, so if you can get close, you can win this. So, after getting into stance of your own, you burst forward, trying to get to his blind side. His face grows into surprise. It almost worked! But at the last possible moment, he twists the other way, and you find yourself parrying the other end of his stick. At least now you're directly behind him. Quick, before he spins around!

This is the moment you've been waiting for! Before Sigmar can fully turn around, you lunge your foam-padded sword into his back, earning you a full point and winning the match. "Ahh, you are a fast one!" Sigmar said, after the match is over. "I hear Ingrid is still mad about this morning, though."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah. Watch out if she's trying to-"
Suddenly, Sigmar is cut mid-sentence by a shrill voice that is also annoying.
"Freja! I challenge you to a duel!"
"-duel. Well, good luck." Sigmar said. The P.E. teacher looks up, and noted; duels are okayed by school rules, but it needs to be watched closely. Ingrid steps into the arena, in her specially-made Arena uniform, with a foil! A blunt-tipped one at that, but it's still metal, and could hurt. Having not even left the arena, you are still with your sword; And by your honor, you can't back down from this duel.
"So, Ingrid, back for seconds?"
"Hohoho! No, you plebe, I'll have my revenge yet! Time to show you what's what around here!"
"Right, fine. What are the terms?" Duels like this often come with terms and conditions.
"You lose, you have to... kneel before me and say I'm the greatest!"
A chorus of oohs come from the crowd of kids. It's a humiliating move, known to flip turn teens' reputation upside down.
But you answer with your own condition...
>If Freja wins:
[ ] "You have to go on a date with Karl!"
[ ] "You just get out of my sight!"

A stray thought hits you in the face. What if...?
"Fine, Ingrid! But if you lose, you have to go on a date..."
You swing your sword Karl-ward.
"HIM!"
And a racuous roar came from the crowd. Karl! Of all the boys Ingrid outright hates!
"Wait what?!" Karl protests, but you see Sigmar at his side. "Dude, Karl, do it! This might be your only chance at dating, man!"
"But...!"
"Do it for the nerds dude! You know how Ingrid always bullies them? If she went on a date with you, it'll bring her level down!"
Karl said something, but it was drowned by the crowd. Only Sigmar hears it.
Ingrid's face immediately turned beet red, ten seconds after the fact. "WHAT! What terms is that!?"
"Well, unless you want to forfeit..."
"Eek! Ugh! FINE! Now go to your corner, we'll settle this gracefully, like ladies!"
"Yeah yeah..." You stroll to the corner farthest from her. You take your stance, and Ingrid hers...

You decide not to rush as you did last time; You do remember Ingrid being the Arena captain. So you wait... one that is very brief. Ingrid lunges forward with her foil, but you manage to parry that with your foam blade- and she spun around, whipping her foil dangerously quick. But you keep calm, since you saw that she is about to do exactly just that; You duck, and her foil neatly misses your head by a mile.
The moment is now on your hands, you are crouched with your sword held in front of you, and Ingrid is still recovering from the momentum of her spin. You have plenty of options when it comes to the attack.

Ouch, First come first serve. But that's with a minus 5, so it's 13.

You decide a good upwards slash is in order... but to your surprise, Ingrid has already stopped her momentum, and actually leapt backwards, missing your swing right in front of her nose. She braced back, as her momentum carries her backwards, and now she faces you. Now she has a very slight initiative over you; Once again, she leapt forward.

Oh no you didn't! This time, just as she rushes your way, you rush forward in turn. Ingrid must not be used to this gallant bravery in face of her skills, you two are so close you can smell the surprise in her face. Her foil falters and goes wide, while you trail your blade forwards! The end result is her foil missing you completely while your boffer sword struck her in the gut. The crowd was silent, but soon enough a clap starts. Then it grew to many, and then a loud cheer is heard. That gut hit is definitely a game-winner.
You glance to see a pale-faced Karl being patted in the back by Sigmar. Hilde is in the crowd, smiling. Ingrid? The look of surprise still hasn't left her face, even when you helped her get up.
"Who dares, wins." You say to her face, matter-of-factly. "Now, remember the terms of the duel." You lead her to Karl. "Ingrid, be nice to him. Karl, don't harass her too much. Now I leave you two."
Again, the crowd goes into riotous cheers, the end-of-period bell being droned by the voices of excited teens. You leave Ingrid and Karl staring at each other with surprised faces that don't really stare at each other.

And that's it for today! Part 3 of ep. 2 will hopefully come next Saturday or Sunday my time. Look into the QTG a day or so before for the announcement! Thank you for playing today!
