> Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Wugong%20Landlord%20QuestWhile reading the phone, you hear the thump of footsteps and Anna going out the door. At the same time, though, there's a sound closer to you - that of Charlotte getting out of her room, probably. Singing quickly confirms that. Grinning, you consider going out with all the girls in the house and do something other than kung fu while you're at it. Anna sounds serious about practicing, and you are serious about practicing, but there's surely a lot more to life than that. That little talk with Charlotte you had about interests - well, you're generally an arty and literary person, and there must be plenty to do with that in the City. Or at least you sure hope there is. Maybe going to the Sino-German University might be one way of finding out more about these things, and besides there are other, uh, possibilities to consider in heading up to Janice's. Networking possibilities, of course! 'I'll head up to yours, give me the address.'You head out to see Charlotte, doing squats in the hall. She nods at you; she's wearing a blue sports bra and a full body suit made of fresh sweat, as well as a few... things around her arms and clamped on her shoulders. As you go down the steps, you can hear her muttering. '84... 85... 86...'> What do/say, Landlord?
>>28810079Tell her you're going out.
Also, regarding your practice of the 28-route Torrent Fist: The routes of the Torrent Fist are named after each of the Four Directional Animals, and the 28 Mansions of the Moon in Chinese astrology. Each Animal has a general direction, and the 28 Mansions focus on different aspects of attack, defence, movement, cultivation, etc. Since you now have 2 levels in both the Black Tortoise and Red Phoenix, you can choose to advance one level in 2 of the routes. They are as below: > Red Phoenix: > Wings Route 1: you can now parry attacks on your flanks more effectively (+10 bonus). > Willow Route 1: the willow sways because its trunk is firm. With this, your lower body is strengthened, and you are less vulnerable to sweeps or throws (+10 bonus in opposed rolls). > Black Tortoise: >Void Route 1: Sometimes the best defence is evasion. This allows you to block an enemy attack while being ready to exploit the situation. > Ox Route 1: The unyoked Ox is a fierce beast. This adds power to your strikes right after breaking out of a hold (+20 bonus).
>>28810203I say wings and void. We are likely to have to fight numerically superior foes soon. So, time to prepare.
>>28810203>>28810280I agree on the Wings Route for Red Phoenix, so that we can develop into a more mobile kind of fighter. As for Black Tortoise, let's go with Ox Route.
>>28810367>As for Black Tortoise, let's go with Ox Route. My reasoning for this is that, if we try to develop into the kind of character who dodges attacks, blocking isn't something we'd do over parrying or just plain dodging an attack. And hopefully, if we go down this route, we'll learn more techniques on how to break out of holds. It's more situational than the Void Route, but it'd be handy all the same.I don't know. Maybe because I see most quests trying to go with a more utilitarian character and letting their allied NPCs specialize, I just want to try and steer a quest MC towards a more unique route for once.>>28810079How about something like:"So, uh, are things still going to be awkward between us? Because I'm not sure how I'll feel about creeping silently around inside my own house."Try to start with something lighthearted, I guess.
>>28810438Oh, I just realized how well it synchronizes with the Wings Route too. If opponents find that they're having a hard time striking at us, they may try to just grab us instead. They'd pretty much be inviting us in to counter them after we break out of a hold.Hopefully nobody minds me just babbling a little about this kind of stuff. These threads always seem to start out slow, so I guess I'm just talking a lot to make up for the lack of discussion.
>>28810155> Thanks for discussing! I'll hold the vote for the moment. 'So, Charlie, I'm heading out,' you say, just as she squats and stands again, slowly this time. 'N...ninety! Oh god!' She shrugs off what are clearly weights on her arms, and then gestures to the towel. Even while wiping herself down, she's keeping in a high horse stance, training her legs. You can see why she's so toned, then. 'How heavy are those weights, anyway?''Fifteen,' she points, and then just as you boggle at that, she points to the other side. 'Fifteen there.''Thirty!?''Yeah. Enough to make me sweat properly.' Which she is going now, gleaming and slightly muscular and... mmm. 'Anyway, about last evening.''Oh yeah, I... well, hope this won't be an awkward thing between us.''Well, you're the landlord and it's your house, so.' She shrugs. 'Sorry bout it. I just... kind of don't really like people who get drunk a lot. But then you don't, do you? Well, you haven't so far, not last night either.'Well... you did get drunk once, except she wasn't around. > What do/say before going out? Janice just sent you her address. > Also, do you normally drink quite a bit? What're your habits like?
>>28810438My thinking is that the power of the void route was put on display when we dealt with the heiress's brother. Allowing us to subtly and effectively turn his attack around might be sufficient to cow some casual challengers.
>>28810559"Sorry, Charlie, I do drink on occasion. I am not the sort to get sloppy drunk, but I do occasionally have a drink. Is this going to be an issue?"
>>28810582You've got a point with that. Besides, even if we're based on evasion and parrying, eventually we need to have a vicious counterpunch to end the fight with. > Wings> Ox
>>28810559Well, considering the situations we've been in so far that include drinking, I'd say we'd refrain from it usually, but are easily pressured into doing so when the situation calls for it."Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm not really planning on stocking the house with beer for myself. I usually just drink on special occasions."
>>28810203WillowsVoid>>28810559"I'll cut back, if that makes you feel better."
>>28810582Mm, yes, I can see the benefits of Void Route. I'm just saying that I want to build towards something more unique right now. Although, for the purposes of deflecting attacks, I think Red Phoenix' Wing Route would be sufficient.
>>28810203I'm down for Wings and Void
>>28810642>>28810723Hmm. Seeing how hung up she was over this, you don't see the particular need to antagonise her. Besides, you really aren't much for drinking - there's a bottle of wine in the fridge now, but it's cheap shit that you were kind of intending to cook with rather than chug. 'Nah, don't apologise. I ought to apologise myself, really - kind of got carried away. Maybe you won't believe me, but I almost never drink vodka or anything hard like that. And as you can see I don't stock alcohol at home. That's not going to be an issue, right?''Really?' She grins. 'So you do all the rest of your vices while sober?''Hey, hey, I am a paragon of virtue right here.' Then, with a shrug, 'besides, with too much drink it can be quite illegal.''Better not do any of that, man!' Charlie laughs. 'Well, you know what you said about vigilante fighting and stuff. Do you know there's, like, a few community groups and clubs round the town? Just found out about those, might be worth a look. I heard Anna's been leading you in other directions, but...' she jabs you with her elbow - ow, that's pretty hard actually - and then waves while heading into the dojo. Righto. Time to head to Janice's... silver leaf's here. Should you maybe get something else for her? Not a gift, of course, but maybe some snacks or, uh, a bit of alcohol...?> Stop by the shopping mall on the way there. (What are you getting?)> Go straight to Janice's.
>>28811041Women love chocolate. Or maybe anything sweet? A light snack, anyway.
>>28811041>> Stop by the shopping mall on the way there. (What are you getting?)Some rice cracker and some rum had ought to be sufficient.
>>28811094Is rum alcohol? Because getting some right after we told Charlie that we don't drink that much would change the context of that conversation a bit.
>>28811094Rice crackers sounds good. Or chocolate. Rum... maybe not. Isn't it only the afternoon?
>>28811041>> Go straight to Janice's.
>>28811124Rum is alcohol. A liquor produce of distilled fermented molasses. Good rum is very tasty. Perhaps the contex may be changed, but teatotaling is silly.>>28811166It's five o'clock somewhere.
>>28811226Not advocating that we abstain. It's just that, with what's just been established with the character, we're either the kind of person who only accepts alcohol when offered, or we actively seek out situations where the mood "forces" us to drink.
>>28811093>>28811094>>28811124>>28811166>>28811226You consider getting a bottle of rum, and wonder where that idea came from. Oh yes, the drinking game! Which eventually ended up with you licking each other free of rum. That ended... no, actually, not badly at all. But then bringing a bottle of the same liquor to Janice's place seems a little uncouth. Come think of it, where the hell did that bottle go? If Charlie doesn't drink, and you didn't keep it away, then... Anna, maybe? Grr. Getting off at Lotus Ponds Central, you fight your way through the crowds to one of the four shopping malls (four shopping malls around a single station, pls) and reconsider your options. She said she was going group work... so maybe there's others at her place as well. Hmm. Pity. What you mean, of course, is best get something that can be shared... ... that may or may not be rum...... the conundrum solves itself at the liquor chocolate section. Well, that will do everyone nicely - a box with an assortment of liquors. Also, stopping by at the bank, you are glad to discover that you now have about 2,000 G's in your account - Charlie's and Anna's payment. Chenglin will follow soon. Landlording is pretty good. But somehow it feels unearned. Maybe if you broke something in the house and repaired it yourself, you masochistic twat... > cont'd.
>>28811350Holding your chocolates, you get back on the train and look out for where you were last night where Pickles was. But of course Hangton is not served by the train system, only by some tram lines and bus lines. If it looked a little intimidating and shit in the night, you can only wonder how it looks in the daytime. And yet, isn't a bad neighbourhood the best environment to be a hero in? You consider maybe beating a few gangsters into submission, or saving a shop from extortionists, and that could make a name for you. While you think, Hangton whizzes by at a safe distance, and then you're submerged in high-rise apartments and the occasional glimpse of green-cloaked hills and ponds and parks. The Sino-German University's hall, it turns out, is not very near Sino-German itself. Why on earth it's called Sino-German, you have no idea. Going to the reception, you ask for Janice, and within a minute you hear her coming down the stairs - and then she's in the lobby. The long, straight hair is now in a ponytail, and she's wearing a loose, large jersey that may or may not have anything underneath. 'Hey!' She comes up. 'Man, thanks for coming! Let's go up.'> What do/say/ask?
>>28811462"Are you sure it's a good idea? I could give you the chocolates and pendant here if you want..."Gentlemanly.
>>28811462"Hey there! What's going on?"
>>28811462Oh yes. In case anyone thought I forgot. I take it Wings is the general consensus for the Red Phoenix. > Wings Route 1: you can now parry attacks on your flanks more effectively (+10 bonus). As for Black Tortoise, I'm tentatively going with Ox for now, unless there is lots of objection.
>>28811641Well, I'm fine with that. Will we get a chance to explore the other routes a bit, even a little?
>>28811641Go with the Void
>>28811462>>28811602There's no reason we can't go up and enjoy some of her hospitality. It'd only be polite, anyway.>>28811606When you've got nothing to say, this is pretty much the default response.
>>28811676>>28811691Oh yes. To clarify: the routes are not mutually exclusive. Your great-uncle was a master in all 28 routes, though of course he came up with them so he had the advantage there. I'm just using the route system as a sort of tree for us to keep track.
>>28811720>>28811606>>28811602'Hey, Janice. So what's been going on?' You stand in the lobby, looking her over, and she glances at the security. You do too. The security looks back down at his work - probably watching porn, the dirty bastard. 'Hmm? Oh, nothing. Our bloody lecturer forgot her own schedule for the term, and so she brought forward the group work deadline. So we've all had to work our butts off to try and hammer together the...' she stops, gives you a slightly abashed look and finger-combs her hair. Without the touch of eye shadow her eyes look narrower now, not that that's a problem. 'Aaanyway, that means that Jan and Ivana are upstairs with me trying to do stuff. But let's go.'Heading up the stairway with her, you reach into your pocket just to be sure the silver pendant is still there. Good, it is. Janice's movements allow you, walking a few paces behind her for no ulterior motive, to see that she *is* wearing something under that jersey, running shorts to be precise. 'We're here,' she says, and points. 'Anyway, so what's on with you today? And for the weekend?'> What do/say? Well, she's not alone.
>>28812052"Oh, just some practicing, sparring, and meditation on the agenda so far. Beyond that, hell, not sure yet"
>>28812052"Not much for the weekends. Someone's moving in, I'm looking for fun work to do, but otherwise not much."Ask about her.
>>28812052Looking for contacts and job opportunities, mostly. On the weekend, we'll be seeing a new renter move in to our home, but aside from that, we've got nothing planned.
>>28812110>>28812124>>28812129Janice's room, it turns out, is shared with some student doing a Master's at Sino-German. Strange girl, doesn't talk much, out a lot of the time, she says. It's right at the end of the corridor, though, which is nice. You pass the pantry, where two guys are having lunch and a girl is trying to pluck toast out of the toaster without popping it up - get a clue, lady. And then Janice stops and you walk into her. 'Woah, sorry.''What're you thinking about?' There's a little glint in her eye as she shoves you, too lightly to actually move you. 'Lots of weekend plans?''Actually quite the opposite. I'll probably practice... spar... do a bit of meditation...' you try to think of a way to make that sound cool but it doesn't really work. 'Look for some interesting stuff to do as well...''Wait, you do martial arts or something?''Yeah, well, a bit.' You try to downplay it, but Janice is visibly excited. 'Oh shit man! So you can fight?' She jumps into a boxing pose and does a few jabs which you block, before going to fumble with the door. 'Also, you said interesting stuff - only paid stuff? Or do you not mind volunteer work?'Oh wait a minute, volunteer work. That's one way to make yourself known in the community, right? Assuming you don't burn through 3,200 G's every month, you kind of have the ability to do it as well... > Have you got something, then? > Well, I'd rather not, really... > Other. Janice opens the room, hollers that they have a guest, and the smell of a student's room - a vague, slightly mouldy, slightly sweaty, but slightly cosy scent - fills your nose. 'Hey there,' a large, broad blonde dude waves at you. 'Who's that?' another voice from inside.> How do you carry yourself, seeing as they seem to have work to do? They don't *sound* like they're working particularly hard...
>>28812350>Have you got something, then? We're not hurting for money.Well, it's fine if they're not working that hard right now. They're college students. Be friendly and relaxed.
>>28812350>88Introduce ourselves casually. Ask what the projectis.
>>28812350>> Have you got something, then?carry ourselves casually
>>28812425>>28812446>>28812487'Hmm, so what've you got? I don't mind volunteer work, no.''You can ask Jan. Need to pee.'You return the greetings casually, trying to acquaint yourself better with the surroundings. Wow, this place isn't bad at all - there's a sitting room, where Jan is at his laptop and two others are sitting at the coffee table. Then, to your left, there's the bedroom - one bed on either side of a pretty large space. One side is rather neat and clean; the other one is not dirty, but there's a pile of folded laundry on the bed, two bottles of wine and plenty of stationery on the desk, and a bra just kind of hanging around from the door of the closet. Who the hell hangs a bra like that?... actually, you have a pretty good idea who. 'Ivana! Get out of the bloody toilet!' Janice bangs on the door. 'Use the public one!' 'Noooo!' Jan glances up, grins, and then looks at you. 'Come on.''What's this group project?' You glance at the screen and see they're editing a video - that's Janice sitting there, hugging a teddy bear, and then the teddy bear starts standing up and begins to talk. Oh okay, that's actually quite cool. 'Animation? Also, Janice said something about volunteering...''Yeah, yeah. Looks okay, I hope? You think?' Your nod is much appreciated. 'And oh yes. Well, actually if we can get funding I could pay you. Just a bit. But we need help for this event that the German society is having. An activist is coming over to talk, you see...'> Oh right...> Ooh, tell me more. (Ask questions freely.)> Other.
>>28812796An activist? Protesting anything?
>>28812796"What kind of event are we talking about?"
>>28812903>>28812851'Oh right, I- wait, an activist?''Yeah, he's like this environmentalist.' Jan shrugs. 'That's kind of why we're hoping to be able to secure funding for it, by seeing if there's any firms willing to sponsor us.''Right. And what's this thing about? Like... it's not a protest or anything, right?'Jan laughs a little, which somehow sounds a bit ominous to you. 'Werner himself is giving a talk, on conserving forest resources and fighting climate change... but to be honest, I don't know what it might be like outside. He's quite an outspoken activist and there's people who think he's being silly.''Don't listen to anything Jan says, mate.' You look up to see that it's Ivana. Wait a minute, you kind of recognise her from the beach party; she was playing frisbee there as well. Towelling her light brown hair, she continues, 'everything he does in his conservation society ends up being a protest.''We never *try* to protest, man, you don't know the trouble that gets us into. It's people outside who come and protest at our talks.' He shrugs. 'There's lots of forest still in the City territories that we're trying to preserve, see... anyway, the talk is next... Wednesday.'> Sounds like a worthy cause. > Hmm. I'm probably busy then. > Other. > Talk to Ivana, or Jan, some more? (What say?) Janice is in the toilet.
>>28813265"Yeah, I guess I can give you a hand."Getting more contacts can only be a good thing.
>>28813265>> Sounds like a worthy cause.
>>28813265What's the city planning to do with the forests anyway? And yeah, we could help out. We might even be able to rope in one of our friends too (Anna), if they think they'll need some more muscle.
>>28813381Hell, they should be playing up the massive value they get out of having parkland in the city.
>>28813265FYI it is only morning here in the Eurozone so don't expect too much activity yet from this corner of the world.
>>28813521It's already afternoon for me in my part of the world. And, well, a slow pace is nice from time to time. As long as there's at least more than one participant around.
>>28813353>>28813372>>28813381>>28813521'Well, that sounds like a worthy cause. What does the City plan to do with the forests?''Same as with everything - destroy it,' Jan sighs. 'They said they'd set up a natural preserve in one of the Peninsula's nicest spots, and next thing they built five private estates there and sealed off the whole place. It's not accessible to the public, but besides that two-thirds of it is completely gone, so everyone loses out.' That does sound like a pretty dick move - especially the bit about previously saying they'd set up a preserve. Actually, you suddenly recall someone who's into environmental causes. Anna might like this. Maybe even Chenglin...?'Wait, Jan, so how many people do you reckon you'd need? I think I could get someone to help out as well.''To be honest, anyone we can get we'll take. Thing is, Werner told us on Tuesday he's stopping by on Wednesday. So we're in a bit of a mad scramble.' 'You should've asked him earlier,' Ivana says, settling at her computer. 'You know, I kinda think we're done with the video. The effects are in now, right?''I guess. I can't be bothered to polish it too much. Cassel's a bitch anyway.''*Such* a bitch.' Ivana slumps, face down on her arms. 'Anyway. So it's not just ushering. Drumming up interest... securing funding... you know, anything.' Jan sits back and shows you the video again. Yeah, you know what, it's a talking animated teddy bear. What's a lecturer asking for? 'So. What sort of things do you do? Are you into conservation as well?''Janice! We're done!' Ivana yells, looking up. 'It's a wrap! Bring out the champagne!'You chuckle. > What do/say?
>>28813575>>28813521> Understood and agreed. > Well, if they come, then they'll come!
>>28813657"I just moved here. My great uncle left me a house I never knew he had on the condition I use it to train and meditate. I guess for now I'm just kind of being a jack of all trades."
>>28813657Well, not particularly conservation. We're just hoping to do what we can to help improve the community. Also, hey. I thought we were going to accompany Anna to one of her fights? When was that scheduled? I can't remember.
>>28813657"I had never really considered it much, actually."
>>28813743Let's call ourselves a freelancer.Much more dignified.
>>28813748What else do we have on the schedule besides her fight, by the way? I recall Lin is moving in at some point, but anything else?
>>28813800Lin is moving in on the weekend, yes. That and Anna's fight are the only things we've got scheduled, I think.
>>28813743Maybe we shouldn't be this honest, I don't know.
> Heading off to sort of dinner after this post. Thanks for playing and patience! You pause, considering whether you should talk about owning a house, and all that. Well, you haven't done anything illegal or wrong, it's just... maybe there's grounds for suspicion?'Well. Conservation, to be honest, I haven't really thought about it much. I came from a place where you didn't really have to worry about not having green space.' You grin, thinking of what you've done in those green spaces. WALKS. We're talking about ROMANTIC WALKS. 'Lucky you. Kind of the same for me, in the Rhineland it's not so bad. But man, out here it's so cramped.''So, what do you do?''I'm a sort of...' you shrug, thinking about how to frame it. 'Well, partly a freelancer, partly a landlord. Are you in the rollerblade society or something as well?''Yeah, how'd you know? Also, what's that?' Janice comes out of the toilet just as you take out your chocolates; Ivana points and shouts, nearly knocking Jan's computer over. Then she promptly clambers over Jan towards you. 'Oh god, oh god!''Woah, you-' but you're cut off by a hug. You look up to see Janice looking a little bemused. Also, you've dropped the box in the meantime, and Jan's opened it. Hey, hey!> What do/say? You kind of got that for Janice... but then, heck, you got that knowing a group's here. Heh. > And what do with Ivana? She's too skinny to actually bowl you over but bloody hell her arms are tight-
>>28814131"I, uh, take that you fancy stuff like these... which are about to be eaten by your friend."
>>28814131Play around a bit with Ivana, I guess. Keep the chocolates just out of reach for her, then call to Janice to catch it. Tell her its a gift for her, although from the looks of things, her friend might want it even more.
>>28814131"Um, oxygen, please."try and worm your way out of her hold
>>28814236>>28814220>>28814176> Oh. Turns out dinner is a little later. Sorry for the false alarm. > Might be in a few posts, though, so if I disappear you know what that is. 'Oxygen... air, please...' you tap on Ivana's arms around your neck, and finally accede to falling over because that might stop her sticking to you so closely. As you fall back, Ivana straddles you. Damn, you'll have to point out the chocolates to Janice-'Wait, where've they gone?' Suddenly your captor and new acquaintance lets go of you and looks at both your empty hands, while you look up towards the little, brown couch. (That's a seriously fucking ugly colour for a couch). Jan's there, and Janice is bending over him, looking down. 'Which one's good?''The Cointreau.''Which one's the cointreau?''I ate it,' Jan says, sputtering with laughter. You sit up, with Ivana sliding off your side; Jan passes the box to you and then you quickly make a break for it, using your Wings route to block a jab at your ribs and turning your back to Janice. She puts an arm around your neck and reaches out, and you can feel her firm breasts against your back. Well, she has little reason to be awkward about that perhaps... 'Gimme!' 'Gimme!''I'm off,' Jan says, packing up his laptop while still laughing. 'Auf wiedersehen! Thanks for the chocs.''Oiii!'> Favour Ivana. > Favour Janice. > Ask Jan for help. > Eat one yourself. > Other.
>>28814476We got the gift for Janice, after all. We can make nice with her friends at another time.
>>28813841We generally have an empty schedule, I think, which is the point. Maybe we should go to one of those community things Charlie mentions, see what can be done.
>>28814476>> Eat one yourself.quality control. and that makes them mad too
>>28814476> Eat one yourself. "Make me"
>>28814916>>28814840>>28814552Well, the only one who can reach your chocolates right now is... YOU. Well, well. So much for telling Charlotte you're not that much into drinking. Then again, it's not the drink you're into, right? Right? It's the chocolate. Yes, let's keep it at that. As Ivana begins crawling up your front, hands gripping on your hips and abs in a completely not unpleasant experience, you lift your hands higher and manage to fish one of the chocolates out of the box. OH. It's in the shape of the bottle of liquor that's inside! Okay that's cute. 'Come on, it's for me!' Janice reaches up as well. '... make me!' You manage to line it up perfectly so that the chocolate falls out of its wrapper and then... lands directly in your mouth. That's an impressive feat, seeing how long the drop was. But then, seeing as it was whisky and it burst open upon entering your mouth, it was also pretty damn stupid. FFF THROAT THROAT- you stumble and throw the box of chocs in the air while twisting sideways so you won't flatten either of the girls, and land sideways instead on your left shoulder, hearing a little *crack*. ... oh, phew, it's just the bloody joint. Ivana and Janice quickly scramble around, gathering the chocolates and the box, before Janice comes over to you. The loose shirt hangs down from her neck, allowing you a nice view. It's a white bra this time. 'Y'all right?' She pops another choc in your mouth as Ivana sits back as well. Gah. 'He's fine, Ivana. He knows martial arts.''Do you really? Wow...'> What do/say? You're on your back, they're sitting beside you. At least the chocolates are delivered now...
>>28815211"I'm still kind of getting back into the stuff I was taught."
>>28815211Let's go ahead and give her the pendant now. I think we've finished up here?
>>28815211"Well, a little bit. Why?" University could have jobs and stuff for us. Also, how do we raise funds for that event thing?
>>28815259>>28815302>>28815307Sitting up, you look over both of your companions. Why exactly did Jan go out so quickly? Huh. Ivana is looking at you attentively while popping chocolates. Man, there's quite a bit about your practice you could say. Best keep it simple, though.'Well, a little bit. Thing is, someone used to teach me stuff when I was a kid. So I'm just getting back into it, you know, while I've got some time.''So you know all those, like, routines?' Ivana starts miming a punch, a swipe, a chop, and then sends a kick your way which you bat away. Dude. With a little grin, she nods. 'Well, well. Did you tell Janice that, on that day with the beach party?''Ivana.' Janice is trying to be the rational-sounding one here, but she's fidgeting a little. 'Where'd you guys-''Ivana!' She giggles as Janice tries to shut her up, grabbing each other's wrists. You take the pendant out of your pocket and look at it. Hmmm. > What do/say? They're fun-fighting, don't worry about it.
>>28815501Pull Janice away, give her the pendant. Serious thing first. Tell them briefly about our plan for vigilante stuff. There must be things here to do.

>>28815501>>28815522They're having some fun right now. We can leave that sort of stuff for when we're about to leave.Tell Janice it's rude to interrupt her friend. We're actually quite interested to hear what Ivana was gonna ask us.
>>28815501"AHEM Seriously what's going on with the chocolate anyway? That was kinda scary"
>>28815501"Oh, right, the pendant. I found it a some while after you had left. Does this have any finders fee attached?"
>>28815639>"Oh, right, the pendant. I found it a some while after you had left. Does this have any finders fee attached?"She already knows about the pendant. We called her about it. She was supposed to come to us, but she was busy, so we went to her place instead.
>>28815659It's an excuse, anon. An excuse to make out.
>>28815522>>28815549>>28815552>>28815560You smile as an idea comes to you, and quickly reach over to intervene. The struggle has turned into a rather silly grappling game, with Janice trying to push back the skinner Ivana, so you go over with the pendant in your hand and put your arms around Janice's belly from behind. 'Eh-' she tenses, feeling your embrace, and while you pull back gently, the surprise means she doesn't offer much resistance. Janice barely manages to glance back at you before you manage to pull her away from Ivana - and then plop right into your lap as you kneel and then sit back. 'Uh...' 'Pendant here.' Janice is blushing visibly as she takes the silver jewellery from your hand. Your other arm quickly releases her, but she doesn't move away, and Ivana sits up and immediately begins giggling. 'Ivana, what were you going to ask?''I was going to ask where you went and whether you did it,' she replies, and Janice blushes even more. But she still isn't moving away. 'Suppose I have the answer now.''Oh please, Ivana, it's not like you never hook up,' she says, quietly. 'Fair enough.' Ivana shrugs. 'And with a martial artist, why not?''Oh please...' then, to you, 'anyway, thanks for bringing this back. Uh... do you want to go now?'Technically you ought to, come think of it. Your little master is telling you no, a little insistently. Ivana raises an eyebrow. 'I don't think he *can* go, you're sitting on him. Besides, so do you do some punch-ups around? Join fight clubs, or maybe become a bodyguard?' There's a little glint that suggests Ivana has something in mind. > I don't mind staying. Tell more. > I'll be off then...> Other.
>>28815695> I don't mind staying. Tell more. Arms back around Janice. "Those are all good ideas. Do you know any rich people round here need a campus bodyguard or something, is it?"
>>28815695"Well, you could say there's kind of a fight clun at my house already... you obviously have something in mind."
>>28815693My complaint is in the way you phrased it. The latter half is fine, but you'd need to change toe first one.> I don't mind staying. Tell more.I don't see any innuendo, so this could be a serious job offer. But my little master.....it tells me otherwise....
>>28815695"Do you want me out?" jockingly just to see her reaction. Then tell to Ivana "You seem pretty much into it"
'Go? Well, if you're kicking me out now...''Oh, nothing of the sort! Just that if you're busy-' but she stops as you put your arms around Janice again, tugging her slightly while you stretch your legs so she's sitting between them rather than on either of them. You'll need to do more horse stance, perhaps. 'I'm fine. Anyway, there's a finder's fee for that pendant.' You adjust your hug a bit, Janice puts her hand round your shoulder and slides down your back. Then you glance to see Ivana miming eating popcorn, then sliding her hand between her legs and jerking it. Janice turns around and she laughs. 'Seriously.''What? What else do I do while watching a porn film, right?' she puts the 'popcorn' aside. 'Anyway, you sound really interested. So that means you either have a job, or you maybe want to learn. As for a fight club, there's already kind of a fight club in my... where I live.' You can't recall if you told Janice that the house was yours. Again, maybe not the best thing to advertise.'Well... there is one little thing I had in mind.''It's not going to be Loy, is it?''It *is* Loy. Of course it is Loy!' Janice sighs and you reflexively pat the small of her back as Ivana goes on. 'Okay. Basically, I held a little post-project do the last time we did a project. And Loy, who's this guy in my group, got seriously drunk. He's pretty crazy even without drinking, so what happened was, he destroyed my sound system.''He tripped over it, Ivana.''Then when I told him to knock it off, he poured wine on my laptop, and threw my Paddy out the window.' 'Okay, he did do that,' Janice nods. 'Fair enough.''And then he refused to pay for anything! I mean, he gave me a hundred G's - that's just fucking insulting.' Ivana is getting more worked up as she talks. 'So that was three weeks ago and I kind of want to go and push the point with him. But he's got, like, friends, and he's a bit rough, so I'm worried...'> What do/say? Hmmm.
>>28815852Wants us to work as a bodyguard? Sounds fine to me. And since she's a friend of Janice, let's go ahead and call this a freebie. For the first time, anyway.
>>28815852"So, like, a one off thing? When do you want it, then?"Hmm. This sounds interesting. Maybe we could make a name here. Also, caress Janice meanwhile.
>>28815852I guess righting wrongs is what gruncle did, and it's not like we'll necessarily get in a fight....Yeah, that last bit was hard to type with a straight face.
>>28815919> Fucking computer borked on me. > Typing.
'So it's a bit like a bodyguard job?' You nod, considering this. It might not be completely justice, but let's not set the bar too high... 'A bit, I guess? A bit like a sort of... provide company and even the odds thing. You know what I mean.' Ivana smiles awkwardly. 'I'm sure we could arrange payment of some sort, and I could help you in other ways also, maybe? Like introduce you to others who might need troubleshooting? Or join the fight club or something if you want?''Sounds good.' 'Janice can easily do the same, also,' Ivana nods at Janice, but she's not really answering back or trying to move too much. Mostly because your hand is under her jersey now. No idea how it got there, sir... but as you stroke and graze the small of her back, she's fidgeting. 'Are you good with this?''Well, when would you need my help then? And sure, if you know anyone else who needs help...''I know a few people who keep getting harassed by the jocks. Sometimes people do some pretty wild things at dos, to be honest.' Ivana shrugs. 'Y-you're one of thooose,' Janice shudders a little, and her hand begins stroking your back too. Grghhh. 'Eh? Anyway, how bout Sunday or Monday? Either's fine with me.' > W-what do/say? Okay, this is turning into a competiton. Hold tight, don't shudder...
>>28816162>Y-you're one of thoooseHmm? What did she mean by this?Well, our new tenant is coming in on the weekend, so she'll probably be there by Saturday. I still don't know when Anna's fight match thing is, but I'll just go ahead and assume it won't interfere. When is the forest preservation event happening? If it doesn't conflict with Ivana's job, I say we go do it on Sunday. The sooner the better, after all. The guy kept her waiting long enough.

I'll see you... maybe at this same building? I live just three rooms down from here... what the hell are the two of you doing? Are you fingering each other?''No,' both of you say together, in a way that strongly suggests you have. Ivana quickly leans to the left to look, but then you swivel as well. She sighs. 'Meh. I was thinking of a little do, but Jan doesn't drink, and now you're like this. I'll be in my bunk.' You watch as she turns and crawls over to her own laptop. Unlike Janice, her short-sleeved t-shirt fits her, which is how you see she's thin. Well, that and the skinny, sinewy legs going up to pink shorts. Janice stops the caressing war for a moment while you watch Ivana, and then leans in. You turn to kiss her, but she stops you. 'She's really ticklish,' she says. 'Is she.' If Janice says she's ticklish... 'Yeah. Let's tickle her.' Now she kisses your nose. > Hmm. Get her to stay with words. > Get Ivana to stay with actions. > Let Ivana go. > Other.

Janice nuzzles you. Ivana's back is turned now, or more accurately her butt is turned to both of you, and she's distracted while trying to undo her 'bloody charger cable' that 'how does it always manage to tangle' when it was just sitting there... you grin and release Janice, who quickly crawls up and grabs Ivana's right foot. 'Eh? AAA!' Dear god, her reaction is immediate - Ivana's entire body seems to undulate as she twists around, letting go of the charger cable. She immediately makes a grab for Janice, but before she can reach her friend, another series of touches on her feet send her sprawling back on the floor. This is your time! Going up, you grab her other foot and Ivana kicks you hard in the face reflexively. Pfft- but you take it in stride and grab again, and she squeals and shrieks, flailing around. Unfortunately, one of her hands then catches on the laptop's charger cable, and you quickly let go of Ivana's foot. 'Jan-'Janice grins and strokes up, and Ivana convulses, pulling on her laptop. > Roll d100.

> 87: Oh phew!Holy shit! You quickly lunge for the laptop as Ivana tries to roll over, pulling the cable around her wrist and taking the whole damned thing off the edge of the table, and the world seems to slow down a bit as Janice finally realises what's happening. Now on her stomach, Ivana looks up, but you aren't looking her way. Need to hold the thing--and your fingers close around it, lifting the fortunately light computer back over your head as you fall on your stomach as well. The fall detaches the charger cable, but at least the laptop's in your hands, and you lift it backwards to put it on your back as silence settles over the room. You can feel the heat of its battery, and then someone - Ivana - lifts it off and you look up at her. At this angle you have a good close-up view of her thighs, and the pink cotton shorts. Her legs are also bruised here and there like Janice's. 'Oh phew, man,' Ivana turns to put the computer safely on the floor. 'Janice!''Don't scold me! Thank him!'You flip around on your back to see Ivana, hands on knees, looking at you. Her hair is slightly wavy. 'So, Ivana. How wild does it get in those parties?''What, you want to go there to catch falling down things?' She bends a little lower, her head cocked slightly. Janice is sitting at your feet, playing idly with your toes. Okay, Little Master is being rather unsubtle and visible now. Why the hell does she keep trying to grab it? You push her hands away. 'Don't grab it! Fragile cargo!''I could get quite wild sometimes,' Ivana continues. 'Generally I know what's happening to me, but I make sure it's good things...'> What do/say now?

You give Janice a glance, and so does Ivana, who then looks at you. Janice closes her eyes for a moment, then crosses her arms and stands up. 'I, uh, just thought it would be polite, uh, Janice, I mean-'Oh god she's walking away, no- wait a minute. Suddenly she turns around, and before Ivana can react, she's grabbed both her arms. Ivana manages an 'Oi!' before she's pulled back, legs splaying in surprise. 'Oi!''Tickle her! NOW!''JANICE YOU LITTLE-' but you've already slipped in, pushing up between her legs, and Ivana breaks down into helpless laughter and writhing as you close on her exposed armpits. Ivana's legs are really kicking now as, caught in sensation, she is using a lot more strength than she would consciously use. Thinking quickly, you grab her right leg and pin it as gently as you can with your shin, and then return to tickling her, probing her armpits and then gradually moving down her flanks. 'OH GOD OH HAHAHAAHHAHA WAIHAHAHAHAHAHA...' Ivana's words eventually fade into helpless laughing and screaming as her body convulses and writhes. Janice holds her tight, and you can see her boobs under the t-shirt move as she thrashes this way and that. She's skinny enough that you feel her ribs even through the shirt, and you give those a good tickling as well while she sputters, coughs and then wails in laughter again. ... wait a minute, maybe this is a bit too far? But you look up at Janice, who nods at you. Well, friends probably don't let friends get hurt doing this, even though Ivana's laughs and screams seem to be getting louder, more urgent, almost as if- You press lightly against the bottom of her ribcage, and Ivana's eyes, streaming with tears, suddenly open wide as she lets out a cry noticeably different from her previous amusement... then another... then another. Your fingers slow down, but she is writhing nonetheless now, and with her left leg holding you close you can actually feel her hips moving and thrusting as she continues moaning. Is that... you ease her leg off and sit back, and Ivana's body convulses hard, toes curling, breasts jumping once more before she slumps. She lies back, panting, and Janice finally lets go. 'How was that?' she asks you. 'Janice, you little bitch...' Ivana croaks, turning around to grab her friend, who laughs. You look down at her shorts. 'Because... wow, that's a new definition of ticklish.''You!' Ivana is also grinning now, her resolve weakening. She pretends to throttle Janice, but then eventually rolls off her, her shoulders slumping onto your lap. 'You gave away my secret weakness...''Just so long as you promise to keep it a secret,' Janice says, coming up to kiss you over Ivana's form, deeply. She tastes of milk and butter and a bakery, for some reason. Must be cookies somewhere. 'Promise?''Yeah, fair nuff. It's a nice weakness, though.' Ivana's belly is warm, and she giggles as you slip under her shirt and stroke without tickling. Janice kisses you again, and then breaks off to pull your top over your head before sitting back. 'What do you think, Ivana?'But her hand is already encouraging you to move into her shorts. She looks up, then twitches when you reach her womanhood. 'He's not that ripped. Kinda expected something more ripped.''Hey...''Well, he's only starting again on his kung fu,' Janice shrugs. 'Then why'd you just let him?''I don't know, I thought it'd get better with time.' She shoves Ivana lightly. 'Not like you're any better.'You withdraw from Ivana and, before Janice can react, reach over and wrestle her into a surprised, yelling heap on the ground. 'Mmm,' Janice pushes you up and reaches behind her, fumbling about. Ivana then grins and reaches behind, undoing Janice's bra - before locking her arms. 'Mmm! Mmmmm!' 'Come on, you know it's revenge time!' Ivana grins as you pull away and the bra falls off, revealing Janice's breasts to you again as she struggles. Well, fair's fair - you nuzzle her neck as she giggles, already anticipating what's happening. Seeing she knows, she sure isn't resisting hard, until your fingers find her armpits and she begins squirming properly also. 'Does she come as well?' You ask Ivana while running your fingertips along Janice's underarms. She's trying hard not to laugh or scream, biting her lip hard and whimpering, but her whole body is writhing - which means she's thrusting against you as well. Nodding when you know this won't make Janice climax, you move your hands a little down from her armpits and begin working on her tits, and her moans take on a different quality as you minister to her body. Kissing down to her belly button, you ease the running pants off her hips and down one leg, and Ivana grins and starts nibbling on Janice's ears. 'Ivana! Ah!' Well, having visited this particular specimen before, you think you know what to do. Janice gasps when you begin, ferreting out the spots in her crotch that pleasure her most, and then wraps her legs around you, panting with desire as you work on her. After a little while you look up, while your hands continue pleasuring Janice, to see her toned, fit body quivering. Ivana's still holding her arms and nibbling her all over now before glancing at you. 'Continue, come on,' she murmurs. Oh yes. Sucking and slipping and pinching, you can hear Janice mewling, and the next thing you know she clutches you with her legs while orgasm seizes her. This one lasts a long while by any standards, and you ride the waves, feeling Janice tense and curl and roll, before finally she falls face down on the floor and you sit up. You kiss upwards to her mouth, then to her neck, trying to find from her grunts where her weaknesses are. The next thing you know, though, she's undone your pants and has your little master in her hands. Oh bloody hell, you think, thoughts disrupted every few moments by her touch, and then you pull away when she gets a bit too close to making you waste a shot. 'I haven't got any condoms, I'm afraid,' you say while Ivana pulls off her shorts. She's not wearing anything under that either, and glistens with moisture. The perks of living nearby, eh. Janice gets up meanwhile and rubs her face. 'It's all right. As long as you're not infected. Syphilis? Gonorrhea? Tentacle cock syndrome?''I'm clean.' > 86, 81: Well done. Ivana lifts her arms over her head, giggles as you kiss around her collar, and then starts squirming and laughing again when you caress her softly and ticklishly, hugging and rubbing sexily against your touch. Janice sits up beside you and begins caressing your back, but you're rather lost in the sensations Ivana's giving you. Eventually, helped by your hands, you slide into Ivana and she gapes, crying out loudly. 'Oh yes! Fuck me.' Oh, a verbal one. Her insides are already wet and hot from previously going over the edge, and as you begin moving, Ivana's cries become louder and more insistent. She wants you to fuck harder, so you do that, driving into her in long strokes. Your hands graze the side of her breasts, she writhes against you while her nails dig into your back, and her breathing comes in ragged gasps until she pulls her lips from yours and starts moaning. You've heard her cries of pleasure before, but now you get to hear them point-blank - and also feel her squeeze tightly around your appendage, pushing up against you hard and driving you into an orgasm too. Ivana clutches you close as you spray into her, both of you scrambled and moaning and caught in pleasure... ... you look up from your reverie to see Ivana, who smiles and kisses you and then sits up. Wait. Janice isn't here. 'She's outside, I think,' Ivana pants, then directs you to kiss her heaving, round tits. 'Maybe she's pissed we left her out...'You go out to see her wearing shorts and on the phone, calling pizza. Oh. Oh dear. > ... what do? You've had your fun, but...
>>28818058Go find Janice, deliver snuggles
>>28818058The Little Master will endure for the sake of his friends and loved ones. He will not fail!....and it'd be a not exciting to caress her while she's on the phone.
>>28818070>>28818074You go over to Janice and sit next to her, trying to move closer; but she rebuffs your advances, pushing your hand from her shoulder and her flanks. 'Don't bother me,' she finally says, and that's that for now. You get dressed, and so does Ivana, who sits on the floor looking at both of you. Janice is ordering pizza, and the person on the phone sounds like an absolute idiot, forcing her to repeat the address thrice. 'Okay. What do you guys want?' She says. You get a Hawaiian, Ivana gets a mushroom and chicken, and after more wrangling Janice puts the phone down while Ivana wisely goes to the shower. She's still pushing away your hands, but not so strongly now, and eventually you manage to melt her with a kiss on her arm. Then another, and another, down to her hand. Janice glares at you as you suck on her fingers. 'Meh. You just kind of left me out.''Uh... sorry, I guess. Got caught up.' You kiss back up, and when she neither presses towards you nor pushes you away, move on towards the softness of her upper breasts. 'Hands, maybe?'Janice narrows her eyes, and eventually shakes her head. 'Nah. Getting eaten out was... okay. Nice, maybe. I was going to tell you about another deal, actually.''Really?' You ease her to lie back against you. 'What sort?''I know this girl who's just joined university and might want a room to rent. She transferred, you see, so they left her out of the first-year allocation.' Janice then purrs as you tweak her nipple lightly before slapping you off. 'Serious now. Her name's Irina. But I haven't heard from her in a few days...'Huh. Why'd that be? > What do/say? And how do you behave during dinner?
>>28818195>And how do you behave during dinner?keep Janice lying against us and feed her with out hands, lavish her with attention during dinner to make up for leaving her out
>>28818195"There's still free rooms so I can accomodate. Is not hearing of her in several days... unusual? Any idea what might've happened?"
>>28818233>with out handsderp, make that with ouR handswould be kinda hard without hands
>>28818245> mouth to mouthnot so hard
>>28818245No, without hands would be preferable.
>>28818195Any reason why she'd disappear? Also how is she acquainted with this Irina?Dinner. Continue to tease her, but tone it down. Just be affectionate, rather than be seductive. The mood has passed for it, but that doesn't mean we can't try to end this day on a happy note.
>>28818256>>28818261I stand corrected, proceed without hands gentlemen
You consider the news while kissing Janice's scalp, which makes her titter. Right, okay, things might be slightly patched over now. 'That tingles,' she says, then taps her scalp again. She smells heavily of sweat, and also of lime and other herbs. 'So how'd you know this Irina? And, uh, is she the sort who disappears for days?''She was one of the people who joined the knitting society. I'm the secretary of that.' Rollerblading and knitting - you truly are a Renaissance woman, Janice. 'And we kind of... hit it off I guess. But she's really quiet... kind of painfully shy, to be honest.''Oh my.' 'Yeah. She actually slept in the campus, hiding in the computer room, for like a week. Then she told me she had no place to stay. But now...'Okay, that actually sounds quite worrisome. You ask if Ivana knows this Irina, but she doesn't. 'Similar name, but draws a blank...' then, when the buzzer goes off, 'oh wait, pizza's coming!' Wow, that's a pretty quick pizza. She dashes off, and in the quiet room you manage to coax Janice into kissing you again, gently tongue-fencing as you play with her body affectionately. She sits up to let you caress her legs, which the shorts barely cover. The door opens just as you squeeze her firm ass, and Ivana grins, setting down the boxes. 'You lie back,' she points at Janice. 'You, caress her. I'll eat.''Hey!' But why not take your order in mind? Ivana ends up joining in as well, nibbling pineapples and olives off Janice as she sighs and stretches out, relaxed and trustful, letting your hands roam free. You even stroke her legs with your feet, which amuses her. After dinner you stay for a bit more, making small talk and asking about the job on Sunday, before finally leaving. Outside Janice's room you run into a pair of dudes coming back from the kitchen, who give you a doubtful glance but turn away when Ivana kisses you. 'Phone.' She taps into it. 'Here.'Nicely done, you think, stepping out into the night. > Roll d100.

> 96, vs background of low rolls: Nice save, really. This part of town, it turns out, is very much a university town; and since it's Friday, that means the whole place is a cauldron of chaos. All the pubs and bars and clubs are thronged with people, flooding out onto the street; guys and girls wander around in groups or rush along alone on the way to some party. Come think of it, aren't Janice and Ivana kind of missing out, then? Except perhaps they didn't miss out, if you consider what many students go to bars to do in the first place. Oh well... Pondering this, as well as 'Irina' and the Sunday job and what the girls might be doing back home, you accidentally bump into the shoulder of someone. For you it's a light jolt, but for the other guy - a thin, rather reedy person - it knocks his slightly drunk ass off balance, and he nearly topples into the girl and two guys he's with. 'Oh dude. Sorry,' you say, by instinct. But the thin guy's having none of it; immediately he turns around and begins coming at you. 'Hey, you think you're some big fuck, aren't you-''Dyson. Dyson!' Thankfully his friends are holding him back, and he can't even shake them. Pfft. Well, aggro is to be expected on the streets... You take 40 minutes to head home, and when you enter the door something strange greets you. Anna and Charlie are both here. But there's someone else as well - a Chinese guy, clean shaven and intense looking and sitting on his own in an armchair. 'Hey,' both the girls wave, but then the man stands up and does a Chinese salute. 'You are Fourth Master's great-nephew, mister?''Bloke's been waiting here three hours,' Charlie says. 'You weren't picking up your phone.'Oh shit, 8 missed calls! > What do/say?
>>28818455"Apologies, but I wasn't expecting guests today, so I was... otherwise occupied. Yes, I am great-nephew to the Fourth Master."Not asking who he is, but leave the sentence hanging in the manner that I am expecting the guy to introduce himself.
>>28818455Apologize to him. We were pretty careless.
>>28818455Wait, chinese salute as the kung fu thing one? We better return it.
>>28818548Yes. This seems like it's an important "martial artist" meeting, so we may have to act accordingly, I suppose.
> Yes, sorry, I forgot that that salute is almost wholly a martial arts thing. You return the salute quickly, bowing a little while you're at it. Oh shit, this is awkward, making someone wait for three hours. 'Yes, I am the Fourth Master's great-nephew. Very sorry to make you wait this long. Have you had dinner, perhaps? Or Anna, Charlotte...''We've had ours,' Charlie says, gesturing to Anna. 'She made pancakes. But he hasn't had anything.''Don't worry, ma'am. I'm not here to have dinner.' He gestures for you to sit. 'I am Pan Jianwei, from the Cloverdene Plum Fist Martial Arts school. We have always been great admirers of the Fourth Master, and I am very sorry for your loss.''Oh. Uh, thanks. Thank you.' Wait, what? He's passed for like two weeks already, man.'Now, we have always been interested in finding out the new ways of the fist, and unfortunately with your great-uncle's death, we have lost one of the greatest innovators. The way he melded inner cultivation and the fist was amazing. We shall perhaps not see the like of him in another century. I'm just interested in knowing, then, how much you know of the Torrent Fist and Wandering Dragon Steps, as well as the Pure Yang and Threefold Concealed skill.'The... the what and the what? You glance at Anna, who looks like she's having a stomachache. Charlie just looks confused. > What say? This person... his intentions are interesting. You can't tell if hostile.
>>28818678Let's be honest. "I know something of the Torrent Fist. The rest I do not know. May I ask what your intention is, Pan?"
>>28818678Say we are sorry to disapoint, but we were never taught much.
>>28818678Oh shit he knows about the Pure Yang and some other stuff never heard before but if we play dumb we won't get any info."Sadly my uncle taught me a long time ago and I am afraid most of the stuff got lost over the years, as my friends here can testify"
>>28818730Don't we know about the Dragon Steps too?Anyway I'm against revealing our cards like that
>>28818678"I am sad to say I was never much of a good disciple to my great-uncle. I know a little of Torrent Fist what he passed to me as a kid, but the others are a mystery to me."
>>28818788We do?
>>28818678"I'm sorry, I got no clue what the hell most of that was about."
>>28818810I thought it was the feet movements to go with the upper body movements Torrent Fist, but I might be wrong
I think we should hide what we know. If they think there is nothing to find here, maybe we will be left more alone? At least until we start building our reputation.
> Last post for today. > Thanks so much for playing! It takes a moment before you manage to process the names he's reeled out. Torrent Fist, yes. Wandering Dragon Steps, yes - that was what Great-uncle called his footwork, as far as you remember, the swiftness and lightness which made you gape. But Pure Yang? That's what the burglar asked about, wasn't it? And what's that other one, Threefold Concealed Skill... if it's that well concealed, then NOT JOKING TIME. Okay. How much should you even admit? You glance towards Anna, who still has her 'I desperately need to poo/I am thinking very hard' face, and then finally turn towards Pan Jianwei. Charlie wouldn't be much help here; turns out Anna, too, isn't. Oh well. 'I know a little of the Torrent Fist and the Wandering Dragon Steps. I was taught them... some ten to fifteen years ago when I was a mere child.''Ah. That is the age when nothing is forgotten, of course.' He nods. > cont'd.
>>28818897'I assure you, I am in the process of trying to remember them, but it's terribly hard. I might have forgotten most of it. Probably have, really. You really could say I've been a poor student and forgotten everything. They'd testify it's true. I can't fight my way out of a paper bag.''I'm sure you're being humble, mister. But even then, we'd be glad to have you.' Jianwei reaches into his pocket and takes out... oh, it's just a piece of paper, which he unfolds and pushes across the coffee table to you. 'Our school would like to invite you over for dinner next Friday. On us, of course. We'd be glad to have you over, and to discuss some pointers, just to learn from each other. Perhaps trade some stories about what Fourth Master was like. If you'd like that, please sign here.''Well, if I like that, could I not just turn up?''We'd much rather you sign here.' You read the agreement, which is in Chinese, and it does say what he said. Looking up at Jianwei, you sneak a glance at Anna; this time she's no longer busting for the toilet. Instead she's trying her best to shake her head without shaking her head, eyes wide, lips pressed tightly together. Jianwei glances at her, and she switches and smiles formally at him. Damn. You can't really think of a way to not sign this, right? Someone shows up with a formal invitation and you say no? That seems a bit uncouth. But Anna seems quite insistent on shaking her head as much as she can... > Sign it. > Don't sign. (Come up with a good reason)> Other.
>>28818922It is a formal invitation. We really should hold to basic courtesies and accept, even if the intent behind it could be hostile.> Sign it. And I bet these Plum dudes are the guys who tried the burglary. When sneakiness failed they sent a face to meet us.
>>28818922>> Don't sign. (Come up with a good reason)"I'm sorry. I can't sign this. At least, not now. I've got a lot of problems financial and personal to deal with, and I want to see them dealt with before I move on to other things."
>>28818922Are we absolutely sure there is nothing else to this? There's got to be some catch.>>28818958They'll probably try to steal it when we're over at their dojo.
>>28818922There's no reason to sign an invitation. Maybe come up with some bullshit about being burnt before with fake contracts and similar, but don't try too hard.
>>28818922>Don't sign"You are polite and seem like a nice guy, but this sounds fishy and i don't feel like signing some document just to be invited to dinner. Also, as i said i haven't learn any martial arts from uncle for more than a decade. I am sotty but i must decline.
It won't leave a good impression if we decline. I think these guys are seeing us as the (sole) representative of great-uncle's style of martial arts.
>>28818958I think we should sign it. The best way to know more about who's after us is to find out directly.
>>28818983To be clear my vote goes to accept the invitation, but not signing the paper
>>28818985This. We dont really need any otehr reason. Signing a paper to be invited to a dinner? if you would like me to be there so much invite me without a signature.
>>28818972>>28818983> Since you can read Chinese perfectly well, if there is a catch, it must be something unsaid. This slip looks just like a slightly exaggerated version of an RSVP slip, to be really honest. > Besides that, the only thing you have to go on is, of course, Anna's head trembling.
>>28818922> Don't sign. (Come up with a good reason)Just say we're busy helping friends and that we can't make it.
>>28819040>>28818970i have a feeling if we say something like that they will just offer to solve whatever problem so we can sign it without worry.
"I would prefer to meet your master before signing anything. I may not be worthy to participate, to be honest, and would not wish to embarrass anyone."
I just came out with the perfect excuse"I'll present this to my lawyer"
They want a copy of our signature. It doesn't matter what it says.
>>28819678I'm.. I'm not sure that's how it works in Kung Fu city.
>>28818922>Don't sign. (Come up with a good reason)I'm not sure coming by to say hello requires a contract, normally.
Bumping.
>>28819789Shh no fist now. Only bullshitting
>>28821081why?
Bump.
>>28810155
>>28819776Yeah, this makes sense.>>28818922Do not sign at all. As for an excuse, well.....we could say that we currently cannot commit to anything right now, as we are in the process of settling in to this city.
>>28818922>>28824475This is true, actually. We'll be quite busy with the library, I'm sure.So if inquires as to what we'll be busy with, we can tell him it's some personal matters you'd rather not involve anyone in. Which is also true; we'd rather not let anyone into the library at this time.
bump
>>28818970This, perhaps elaborating, "I may be willing to meet with you or perhaps another of your school on a less formal basis here. Really, I have enough matters stemming from my dear uncle's passing that I cannot entertain the thought of meeting formally on behalf of his style. Perhaps if I could get your contact information, we could arrange a less formal meeting at a later time."
>>28827070>>28818922This is quite reasonable, actually, and it gives us the initiative as to when to set a meeting.
>>28827070Yeah, that works.
>>28827120Yeah, my thinking is we want a meeting, if it is going to happen at all to be on our turf with them outnumbered so as to hopefully prevent funny business.
>>28827222bump again
>>28827070Anybody got anything to add to this?
