There's just no reason to get a T-34-85 with that anemic little gun.
It's not an amazingly reliable medium tank, nor is it well-armored or anything more than averagely mobile. It's strength was merely in numbers.

The SU on the other hand has a big anti-tank gun going for it, and for a self propelled gun the mobility is comparatively better.

If you just have a hardon for the tank, that's fine, but it's not gonna be very useful for us in the long run and I think we can spend our funding better.

And we need to keep them happy, whats "best" is arguable for that and I'm not going to try to start that.

We should cancel the Pershing then get the T-34/76, Upgrade the Sentinel, and upgrade the Pz4 and shove the better 75mm on it. That comes to 36,000 which is a little more expensive but it gives us a pretty decent lineup of Medium tanks.

Ordering the T-34 chassis and swapping the girls from the SU to it might be a better long term choice.

Plus, we'll be able to see what sort of kits are available. Maybe we'll have a T-44-100 option.

I'm voting for the Pershing to stay, though. I think it adds value to the team.

The SU-122 is actually one of the better tank-killers we have available and downgrading it like some want would only produce a medium tank on par with the M4 or Panzer IV. The Jumbo only has a 75mm gun and loses mobility at the cost of added armor. Give the Sherman a 76mm gun and it has a decent blend of mobility and firepower to serve as a command tank.

The KV-1S on the other hand is fine as it is at the moment, and we can't quite afford the conversion anyway. We need to have a firm grasp on priorities and work with what will be most beneficial in the neat-future rather than starting off long-term projects that may not pay off soon enough (or which we might not even obtain the money for) to benefit in the early matches.

The gun it has is has/is valuable by itself. Finding and purchasing a senshado legal 90mm will come at either a net of 0, or net profit, as the current gun is sold off.

Comp Speccing costs money just like every other Vintage tank we buy. Shouting "COMP SPEC," and pointing at it like a bogeyman isn't a well reasoned argument.

The Pershing provides a large bore, high velocity gun mated to a reasonable amount of armor. It'll be excellent to pair with the Churchill and use it for defensive positions or to keep it rolling and pinch people between it and the other medium tanks.

It doesn't need to be the "best," to be good. it provides late-war flexibility to a team that desperately needs it.

The Pershing is comparable to a Tiger I in most respects and would perform about as well in the same roles. It would be a good purchase... if it didn't cost so much right, at a time when the team needs to focus on getting a more solid lineup. For the price of just the vintage Pershing we could probably turn the Sherman and the Panzer IV into their later-war versions and get two very decent medium tanks out of it. Comp-speccing it, even if the gun can even be sold off and replaced at a profit, would probably be even more expensive. Perhaps more than getting the StuG III to Ausf. G or the KV-1S to KV-85 standard.

Also, before we expand the roster of tanks we really, really need more crews. There are only eight of them right now. We already have more tanks than can be manned.
