My people, to me! It is now the sacred time, and again we tell the stories of our people in keeping with ancient tradition. In the last two years we explored Prax and made headway into exploring the Grazelands, home of the Horse-Spawn. We also oversaw our first legal case, received a shrine to Kero Fin, and completed Ernalda Feeds the Tribe. We also discovered that we have too many cattle for our current pasturage. Fixing that will be the first act of the year.
Here's a more complete asset list. We finally managed to buy the Shifting Statue, for 65 cattle. Should make keeping the carls from hating us a bit easier.
That makes three Heroic Combatants on our ring alone, and three more in the outer ring. Expect to see a few more of these announcements in the future, we've got some Renowned Combat people too. This clan is awesome.
As promised, first action is increasing pasturelands. Give me another action for Sea season.
But first, getting the horses off our property.
Onelisin event. Heroic Combat, Excellent Leadership and Magic.
>>287202073. I don't see any need to ride the crapshoot of Bold Risks. Let's put that Heroic Combat to work.
And the battle resolves most decidedly in our favor, though I'm irritated about losing farmers. Not really a fan of Elusu's new portrait.
Sea 2. Go ahead and give me an action now.
>>28720497Shit, I still feel new at this, but no one else is posting here. Should we be worried about the number of sick? If not, is there anything we should be doing to set the ground for the kingdom expansion, like gifting neighboring tribes into a high opinion of us?
>>28720741Any number of sick people is bad, because it means fewer people working. A certain number is inevitable because disease is, well, endemic. If we had a healer on our ring we could put extra points into health, which would stem the problem. Unfortunately we have no Chalana Arroy worshipers at all. We'll let the disease alone for a while longer and cure a bunch of people at once later.Plenty of things to do with other tribes, like resolve feuds or set up what trade routes we still can. Just suggest one and we'll do it. We're pretty popular and we've maxed out how many alliances we can handle, so we're fine there.
>>28720970Ending a feud sounds good. We seem to be facing more attacks from big rivals, it wouldn't hurt to spend a little to placate one of the smaller thorns in our side.Pick whoever is most likely to stick to a peace treaty or is the least profitable to raid in retaliation.
The Anmangarm are annoying and hard to raid. Making peace with them could work out, maybe.
What's that? The carls are fighting the Mule Deers' carls? I'm with Orstalor, that's pretty funny.
>>28721372Honor is for thanes, not carls. Go with 1 and tell him to get over it, his wife is probably right.
He didn't like being told that. Pick another option.
>>28721599If this guy really wants to get himself killed, allow the duel, so he puts an end to our embarrassment.
>>28721599A failure from the silver tongue? Inconceivable!I guess we should go with 3, then. She did violate customs, but I don't want to encourage this idiot to try a second duel.
Heh. There's another version of this resolution where the two of them try fighting for a while but are terrible at it, and once they get tired they starting drinking and sharing complaints.
Fire season. 2 actions now, keeping in mind that we need to explore some time.
>>28721817No time like the present. Exploration and try to buy a treasure? Or should we be trying to fit another heroquest in here soon?
Exploration sent. I think Tarsh is far enough away to count for Lhankor Mhy.
>15 horses>large amount of giftsPffft. This is why we're walking gods and you're not. How do we sue for peace?
>>28722126Since they think 15 cows of goods is a lot, let's absolutely blow their minds with a whopping 30 COWS OF GOODS.
It's the end of an era. We've been feuding with the Anmangarn since the start of the game.
Luckily the Jenestni are here to pick up the slack.
Harvar with another event. Heroic Combat, Very Good Leadership and Magic.
>>28722306One on one?
>>28722306>HarranEither 1 or 4.
>>28722399I like it.
Our Barntar worshippers out-badass Wind Lords from other clans.
Lost more people. Not as many as the Jenestni though.
>>28722465>my sister-in-lawold bastard can't even remember her name, odds are he just dementia'd that whole thing up
No treasure? Might send out another exploration party.
There it is. Still worth sending another exploration party.
The Tedanlings? Oh right, we married their chief's daughter to one of our guys.
Onelisin stars again. Heroic Combat, Excellent Magic and Leadership.
Onelisin gets a crit on the charge and rolls to intimidate.
Looking at the casualty roster, it seems that we only had eight people at most take injuries across the entire battle. That's really something.
Didn't we JUST get done trying to make peace with these guys? I hope they didn't like having a population, they're going to get steamrolled.
>>28722825They *did* assassinate some of our guys under the guise of a peace meeting. Guess they just really want to get left out of the kingdom of dragon pass.
Baranthos sees his uncle die. Wait, Baranthos is 58. I can't believe he has an uncle. Though it could be a child of old age for Baranthos' grandparents...Heroic Combat, Excellent Leadership, Good Magic.>>28722862I had hoped they'd put that kind of behavior behind them. Oh well.
>>28722912#2. Baranthos smash!
Baranthos needs a second eyepatch, he makes other people deal with it.
Holy shit, they got us.
Keep in mind, it is Earth season, so no raids of retaliation.
>>28722912>Wait, Baranthos is 58. I can't believe he has an uncle.Reminds me of Silver Horde from Discworld.
>>28723186Not that sort of curse, dammit!
It seems that losing in a raid by the Anmangarm got us clan magic. Doesn't seem to have hurt the clan's morale at all, too.I think we should heroquest in Dark season, and do Elmal. In the meantime, exploration?
>>28723292We could schmooze up to the Jenestni tribe-mates. Let them see what they're missing out on by refusing our envoys.
>>28723292Exploration is something that will always be good for us. I say let's see what we can see
We're sending Harvar to Snakepipe Hollow first.>>28723329That's the Fire Quartz and the Lysangs. We're allied with the Fire Quartz and neutral with the Lysangs. Want to send gifts? Also, will go after this event. Will return very soon, just running an errand.
This is me buying the Strong Man's Toothpick, another "strengthens certain clan members" treasure.
>>28723427Can we explore and send gifts to the Lysangs at the same time?
This is the carl's version of the "not enough weaponthane" event. It's pretty much a chance at a free population boost.>>28723488Two actions per season. We'll send the gifts when I get back.
This is the second time those Amnasagaramsam bastards have stabbed us in the back. Forget everyone else, we need to CRUSH them for these insults.
>>28723595Guess we can seek more kinsmen from the Holy Lands. Unless marriages between Carl families counts as cementing alliances.
Sending Elusu to Heortland deprives us of him while he's away. We'll keep badass in chief, and hold a contest.
All in all, not bad.
Got to go now, will return shortly. When I return, we will send gifts to the Lysangs.
Returned. Now sending gifts to the Lysangs.
Rangor is 5ever alone.
>>28725597Just turn him into a wizard or something.
Snakepipe Hollow is tied for the most deadly location in Dragon Pass. It's Chaos Mordor, except chaotic so no one rules it.>>28725668He's been married, the secrets of magic are forever lost to him.
>>28725691Then just tell him no.
Oh shit, oh fuck, someone fucked with the ducks.
>>28725745Give them all that they ask, lest they send Donald after us.
Come to think of it, I think this is the same resolution we had last time this event triggered.
>>28725745I'm still wondering why we can't fucking do oracle on these things. I mean, we could root out the fuckers DOING it.
Haha, time for Dark season! Who are we raiding? Even though I'm on the emissary screen we WILL be hitting the chosen target.>>28725851I'd say it's because the ancestors don't care about the ducks.
>>28725913Anmangarni, gotta be. They took our peace gifts, then raided us, and they had the gall to WIN that fight too. As the guy who suggested we try to end that feud, I'm now saying we end it with their heads on pikes.
>>28725668>>28725691use the trickster magic option
With a pit stop to bribe the Blue Spruces, we're off to raid the Anmangarni.
Spotted, damn. Still think we have this.
Vastyr has Excellent Combat and Leadership, and Good Magic.
>>28726222lead the men to victory!
For the storm and glory!
The numbers are in our favor this time.
The thanes will come around.Actually we don't care, we're not trying to ally with them, just piss off the Jenestni.
It's time for a heroquest. I'll let you pick which one, with the caveat that we don't know Uralda or Chalana Arroy.
My PC BSODed and I missed the bigger part of the last thread. So sad.
>>28726902So just read it on the archive.
>>28726902Someone was kind enough to archive it for me. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/28699812Whoever has been archiving these, thanks. I've forgotten more than once.
Guys, there's a very important issue to address. Orstalor looks like he's getting on in the years.Who will be our Trickster when he dies?
>>28726490Issaries, only because I know that's one we haven't done yet.>>28727058Cross that bridge when we get there, man. Let's just hope our superbabies are supermen by the time he croaks.
Rolled 6>>28726490Rolling a d7 to decide.
Hate to do this, but my roommate is playing merry hell with my router, leaving me unable to connect with my PCs. We'll stop here for now, and resume in 12 to 14 hours. I'll announce on twitter when I'm back.>>28727151We also haven't done Elmal. There's a trick to Issaries that makes me want to hold off for a while.
>>28727355That'd be The Making of the Storm Tribe. We'll do that on resume.Very elegant form of decision making there too.
>>28725913Anmangarni must be destroyed as a lesson to the other clans. Burn them to nothingness and salt the lands they once called home
>>28725913What's the significance of the shining blues symbols on the rock?
>>28727919Currently active blessing related to the current screen.
>>28727058I don't quite know. Every trickster that I have seen on every LP of KODP has been either a scoundrel at best or a chaotic randumb at worst. Truly, we have one of the few sage/sensible tricksters who is also pretty chill.
>>28730898We DID have him tricksy-botch a diplomatic mission once, but only once.
>>28731838He went and got so drunk that he ended upside down in a tree having spent all of our money on getting himself and the escort we gave him drunk as monkies
So... any sign of him?
When we left off we'd just been directed by Eurmal to perform The Making of the Storm Tribe heroquest. We'll be doing that now.
If you remember this screen from when we first performed the heroquest, you might recognize that the reward list has been greatly expanded. This is the tribal heroquest, its rewards only appear once you're in a tribe. We're actually okay on most of these, our reputation and tribal morale being high.I'd recommend improving political abilities. It's a global Leadership bonus.
>>28739490Just do it.
It's not the right answer, but I love telling Lhankor Mhy to launch a legal claim against the cube.
Done. We be wise.
They don't call the Mule Deers the long planning clan for nothing. Rather than wait until after the moot to bribe us, Rana of the Mule Deers is offering us horses to get us on her side in a legal dispute. How do we deal with her gift?
>>287398704. It would be an insult to reject the gift, but as the clan of the king we must be seen to be (relatively) free of corruption.
A horse is worth between three and five cows, so we gave 15.Now, with nothing more than Rana's testimony, we decide the case.
>>28739974Eh, fuck it. Mule Deers. If the Old Owls wanted it they should have brought us horses themselves.
Haha oh wow, haven't seen that happen before.
It's now Storm season. I'm going to save the last action for a Curing ritual, having gotten sick of all the sick people.Explore/trade/sacrifice/feast?
>>28740193Well, we've got 4000+ food, we might as well try to feast?
Elusu says heal first, then feast. Since he's the one saying it, I think I might do that.
On the other hand, Elusu suggests raiding the Greydogs. Anyone else interested?
>>28740300Oh aye, we'll feast.ON GREYDOG FLESH
Raiding time. Might be cool to call on an ally, the Fire Quartz are right next door.
>>28740365Sure, why not. DOUBLE TEAM.
>>28740365Is it possible for us to raid as a tribe?
Surprise. We're also raiding in Storm season.
The Fire Quartz are getting hammered, and Orlgard's the only person in a position to do something about it. Renowned Combat, Good Leadership.>>28740453Tribal combat does exist, but there are rules to it. We'll see if we ever get involved in it.
Curse all you like Greydog scum, our farmers still fight better than ten of your warriors.
Mother of Orlanth. This was a plundering raid.
Needless to say, they paid up.
>>28740613We're getting our tribute, one way or the other.
Tonight, we feast.
>>28740613Sheesh, that's a brutal casualty tally. They must really like their cows and horses.
>>28740613Woah. Greydogs had 13 thanes and 160 swordsmen in the fight. Greydog casualties were 13 thanes and 160 swordsmen. Literally every single Greydog in that fight ended up dead or wounded. That's about as one-sided as it can get.
The Vostangi attacked in the middle of our feast, the craven bastards.
>>28740723Oh, that's gonna warrant a magical spanking.
Luckily, Harran is there to stop them. Heroic combat, Very Good Leadership. I think option 2 is there due to Fyrdwomen.
>>28740770SLAY THEM ON THE SPOT.
Harran is hurt, but his performance broke their charge.
That casualty list. Wow.
And this time, we have prisoners. What do we do with them?
>>28740888Delicious ransom checks.
>>28740865Another complete slaughter. 15/15 thanes and 128/128 swordsmen.>>28740888We don't do thralls and there's no reason to just kill them. 4, ransom.
>>28740888Ransom them.More goods is always good.
Goods for the goods gods.
Running Windows 7, here, has anyone had a problem of the game not starting at all? It switches resolution and the process is open, but I get nothing from it. Been wanting to play this game for ages now.
And now the Jenestni want in on the slaughter trade.>>28740977Which version do you have, the CD or GOG version? The CD version has compatibility issues.
>>28741006GOG. Gettin' some mad sads over here.
Enothea has an event. Heroic Combat, Fair Leadership and Magic.
>>28741006Gosh we're popular. They must all be mad they didn't get an invite to our rocking feast.Seriously though, after all these phenomenal asskickings, I kind of hope they get a clue and stop bothering us.
>>28741036Fight bravely, press the enemy hard!
>>287410362, fight bravely. We'll show them who not to mess with.
>If we had all fought like Enothea, we would have won....What.>>28741034First check GOG's support site, then the forum for KoDP. Try running the game in windowed mode; instructions as to how can be found on said forum.
The Jenestni forced us off the field of battle... and only won one horse? They wanted ONE HORSE so much that they fought us to a standstill around its pen, then left cheering about their great victory?Yeah fucking right, the side that wins is the side that doesn't have burying to do. Come to think of it, we're burying THEIR dead.
And that's the year. We're still losing cows to starvation despite increasing our pasturage, so it's time for emergency sales and treasure buying.
>>28741232I guess they won an... uh... moral victory? Since they did plunder something. Even if they took disproportionate losses. Although they do look pretty damn happy with themselves.
Pity about the market.>>28741288Pyrrhic victory. Moral victory would be if they were defending some ideal that we couldn't break them from. Since they were the aggressors they surrendered the moral high ground.
Harran has Heroic Plants. This actually happened earlier, but we're only informed of Heroic rank achievements at the start of a year.
>>28741380Damn. All of our ring members are pretty badass. It's almost a shame that they're aging pretty quickly. At least there'll be those superbaby replacements coming along in a few years.
Sea season. Since we're hemorrhaging cattle, I'm going to go trading. The problem too could be that we've got too many sheep, now that I think of it...Trading and gifting for the year?
>>28741455Sure. Not much else to do, between the heroquests. Our enemies are weak and our prosperity is overwhelming.
>>28741455>Trading and gifting for the year?Well, Christmas IS coming up soon.
>>28741455Being generous with the overcrowded cows and gifts sound good. Are there any tribes that don't exactly like us but aren't feuding with us?
>>28741232wtf is this shit lolTAKE THE HORSE! WE DONT WANT IT ANYWAY
Starting trade with the Lonisi.>>28741501I'll put up a map in a moment.
>>28741502It was probably one they shat in, anyway. But they realized it was earmarked for another tribe, so they engaged in many comedic shenanigans to get it back, culminating with this desperate raid.
>>28741502Wait, what if it was one of the horses gifted to us by the Owl people a bit ago.Maybe they're trying something political?
This event again. Someone can't beat us in war, so they've decided to be dicks about it.>>28741527That one went to the Old Owls, the next one is going to the Lonisi.
>>28741687I like Elesu's idea.I hope it's the Grey Dogs
>>28741733Sea season. Also, it really is Orlanthi Christmas, it's the Greydogs.
These are our current options.
>>28741829PROPITIATE MALIAHAIL THE UNHOLY TRIO
>>28741829Use trickster magic to send it back to the Greydogs. Then we raid them.
>>28741829Sacrifice to Chalana Arroy. It's the Orlanthi thing to do.Plus we need to get rid of sheep or cows, so there is that.
Sacrificed to Chalana Arroy, because Malia is oh god no.>>28741866Trickster magic has a chance of spreading it around to local clans.
>>28741964Time to kill us some Greydogs, methinks.
Sending off to the Lonisi.>>28741984Patience, we just need to wait for them to default again.
>>28741984Burn steads or take cattle so we can redistribute it amongst our pals?
Eurmal's Balls were on sale. We bought them for 60 cattle.
Fire season. I was going to suggest more trading and gifting, but we're short on farmers. We'll put out a call for them.Gifting next? Should we focus on clans neutral towards us or clans who dislike us?>>28742148Heh.
Vinga's Comb powers up both Orlanthi and Vingans. Unfortunately, we weren't able to buy it.
>>28742269>Should we focus on clans neutral towards us or clans who dislike us?Maybe it's just me, but we seem to have a shitty track record with soothing relations with people who don't like us. Go for people who are already neutral and can be won over.
The Osgosi want to attack the Telmori. We've a chance to get in good with the clan, or do something truly unexpected.
>>28742381What are our relations with the two? If there's any chance of making it work, go for 4.If not, I'm not sure we shouldn't decline. We've already got a list of enemies to take care of, and raids already planned.
We're going to do something different.>>28742537The Telmori aren't Orlanthi at all. They're nomadic werewolves.
Is this seriously a choice? "Yes, we should send Orstalor to negotiate peace."
Elusu does it again.
Here's the map I talked about. If we want to give gifts, who do we want to give them to?The more blue a clan is, the more they like us, the more red, the more they hate us.
>>28742786Let's work on the Osgosi. We just made peace between them and the Telmori, let's see if we can't get them to like us.
We'll send them 15 horses.
Still too many children. We need to buy Orlanth's rattle ASAP.
>>28742786Can you turn the ducks into allies?
We settle a feud with them, they invade the next year. Pissants.>>28742917With difficulty.
Harran event. Heroic Combat, Very Good Leadership.
>>28742992#1. Charge them!
Fuck. We've revived him twice already and he's in his 60s now, I think we'll let him lie.
>>28743075Well, time to raid the Armagagrbalbl off their land again.
I hate the Anmangarn.
>>28743114Blast their fields, burn their steads, etc. etc. etc.
>>28743114Sounds like we should genocide these fuckers again.
Orlgard might not want to sit on the ring but I don't care. We need a Barntar worshipper.I went ahead and swapped Beneva for Eonislara as well, just because Eonis is younger.
At least the Osgosi like us a bit better.>>28743294The actual fuck.
>>28743294>>28743363I know, right, how the hell'd that happen?
Normally I'd advise against raiding in Earth season, but we're sitting on 4000 food. What do we want to do about the widows?>>28743386Image posting error. Not actually sure what board that one came from.
>>28743409The Anmaganrami are BEGGING for it.Full onslaught, raze everything they own, kill the women and children.
>>28743409#3.I feel more or less the same way. Let's go show those Arglmonglers the meaning of fear.
We're calling in some friends to help.
Just to get the message across, I'm also investing two magic into the fight.
>>28743624Kill. KIIIIILL.Or burn steads, or plunder, or whatever but SPILL THEIR FUCKING BLOOD.
>>28743624Shame there isn't a "Kill women and children" option.
>>28743758That's pretty much "Burn steads", I think.
Sorry, had to step away.Elmal is the god of defense. Do we attack the defending champion?
>>28743867SHAKE THAT CONFIDENCE
>>28743867Fight around him.
>>28743867Go with 3 or 1, whichever you think best. We're not backing off or playing around here.
How do we shake his confidence?
>>28744030Go with 1.
>>28744030Eh, #1. #2 might just reinforce his resolve.
I'm pretty sure Rostakos is dead, but he might have done what we needed him to anyway.
>14 deadWe're good at this.
But if the clan's happy I don't care.
Agents of the Pharaoh arrive, looking for a clan we've never heard of. Usually these guys show up after the fleeing clan arrives, so I'm not quite sure what's going on here. How do we handle them? Dig for information first, then decide?
>>28744216Dig for information, then slaughter the infidels.
That's it, time to kill them.
>>28744267Kill the Pharaoh's Whores!
Scum. The Sorcerous Implements are a unique treasure, but they're also cursed. I have a use for them though...
>>28744314like selling it to greydogs for cheap?
>>28744389I was going to suggest the Anmangarni, because we're "not feuding" with them anymore and this lets us bolster our "bond" with them while also screwing them over.
Sorry for the delay, needed to put this image together. In this second half of Earth season, we are going to perform Issaries the Conciliator. The Sorcerous Implements will be useful here.
>game suggests Orstalor as main questerThis has potential.
Lots of options here. We're on good terms with all the cults and we've yet to max out our trade routes, so I'd recommend learning something or ending a feud. We could also use this to permanently end the war with the Anmangarn.
>>28744566"Okay, so, I know you don't like it when they eat you guys, but... what if they only ate SOME of you?"This is easily the most fucked up legend I ever heard.
>>28744683I'd be pleased as punch if we could get the Tedanling to stop feuding with us, the Jenestni, Greydogs, and Anmangarni are problematic enough.
>>28744683Let's end a feud.
Feud ending.>>28744776It helps when you realize the two clans they're talking about are wooly mammoths and saber-tooth tigers.
>>28744845I gathered that from the picture, but it's still fucked up.
Setting out on his quest, Issaries/Orstalor arrives in a strange place. Lhankor Mhy is there. How does Issaries convince Lhankor Mhy to come along?Sound familiar? Issaries the Conciliator happens simultaneously with Lhankor Mhy Finds the Truth. We're playing from Issaries' perspective this time, where Lhankor Mhy is a standoffish know-it-all.
>>28744925Let's do #3, as the legend says.Although #2 might also work.
Please, Know-It-All, you're the loquacious one here.
Storm Bull could be useful, too. How do we get him to come along?
>>28745060#5.As if there's any other answer.
It's a test to see if you know anything at all about Storm Bull.
>>28744776It's kind of like in the Uralda legend where she agrees to let the two legs eat some of her people (i.e. cattle), in exchange for protection from the biting things, who would have no problem with wiping them out.
So, I recently got this game, as I've sporadically followed these threads. All I can say is, holy shit it's hard.I mean, how do you succeed as well as you guys have? All that magic, Jesus Christ. I just wanted to ask you a question: how do I learn new myths for Heroquesting? And how do I find the myths themselves, so I don't have to savescum all the quests/fail horribly. I know there's a lore section in the main menu, but how do I find more/more elaborate myths to add to it?Also, these threads are quite entertaining. Thanks for them, Heortson.
>>28745178You sacrifice to a god for their mysteries for details of their quest. It takes multiple sacrifices to know all of a legend, and even if you look it up on line, your success is at least partially dependant on how much of the quest your clan knows in game. So you need to sacrifice repeatedly. The gods really have a monopoly on the sacrifice market.
>>28745178Continue to sacrifice to that god for mysteries. You can also do the Lankhor Mhy finds the Truth with that as your goal. Some events will also have people tell you a myth, and if you 'learn new details' (semi-random), you can get a more detailed version of it that way. Also, some of the myths have more than one correct answer, as seen upthread with the 'file a lawsuit against the rock to make it fall apart' option.
Issaries stops to wonder what worst of the damage to world is. What does he decide it must be?>>28745178Sacrifice for Mysteries, you'll learn a ritual or get knowledge of a heroquest. Success or failure is dependent on your quester's stats and how much you know about the heroquest. If its circle is filled in, know the secrets of that quest, improving your odds of success. There's also a random element, which can be frustrating. You can also learn heroquests by calling in favors and asking for information, and in some events. As for doing well, it comes down to luck, persistence and learning how the game fits together.
>>28745275But for that quest you need to sacrifice to Lankhor Mhy first right? So, should I always sacrifice in multiples of seven as well?Another question. I seem to have a problem with getting enough food and cattle. Do I need to recruit new farmers with only land for crops and with land and cattle for more cows? I am kinda stumped on that point.
>>28745283It's tempting to see what just blaming it all on Chaos does, but 3 seems like the "correct" answer.
>>28745283#5. People have forgotten how to make maps of the secret places.
>>287452833, this quest is about reconciliation, i.e. making friends where their were once enemies.
>>28745324I've got my own stupid noob question. How do I portion out my crops? What's the difference between wheat, barley, and rye?
The people had become enemies. Realizing this led to wanting to end this sorry state. Wanting to reconcile the people led Issaries to dig a new path across the ocean.
>>287453241. Yes to the first. Apparently to the second, but I don't know for sure, I was unaware of that part until I started following Heortson threads.
While traveling the secret path, the party encounters a terrible Chaos beast. Urox goes to fight it. How does Issaries react?>>2874547620 percent minimum in each or harvests suffer. During good years boost wheat for extra silver, or barley if you need food. Rye is an emergency crop, it has lower but stable yields. If a bad harvest is predicted increase it (but not so much the others go below 20).
>>28745766Strike it's weak spot for massive damage. This kills the crab.
Foregone conclusions, thy name is Storm Bull vs. Chaos.
It's fucking UROX. If he lost, he'd be Chaos's bitch, and Urox ain't no bitch.
The Digging Stick People ask Issaries for help: The Long-Noses and Big Teeth are at war, and their battlefields include the home of the Digging Sticks. Issaries decides to help....But the world is based on give and take. Does Issaries perhaps do something else? Also, these are the Nalda Bin, I believe. We adopted them into our clan in ancient times.
>>28745978Wait, the tigers and mammoths are pressing humans into service and selling them to buy weapons? This seems like a confused myth.
>>28746018The world was weird when Gods walked the Earth.
>>28745978Go to long noses as long as Stormbull follows.
>>28745978By the story, 6 is the right answer. But is this what you wanted a disposable treasure for?
>>28746078No, the big tooth chief devours the quester if you don't give him a treasure.
>>28745978Oh, you want their treasure. Go ahead and do 1. Then go no matter who follows.
We got a nail board.>>28746078That comes later.
>Lhankor Mhy left the party.
The Long-Noses have reasons to be aggrieved with the Big Teeth. What does Issaries do, having heard their side?
>>28746268Go to the Big Teeth to set up a parley.
>>28746268Go with 2.
The cats are less than understanding. What does Issaries do?
>>28746407"Oi, Know-it-all, what's your take?"Option 1.
>>28746407Myth says to whine to Know-It-All to solve your problems for you.
Issaries proves he's the party rogue by getting the wizard to come up with a plan, then having the fighter do the heavy lifting. Fighter/Mage/Thief: So good even the gods do it.
Now comes the hard part: Getting a deal. What is the MOST IMPORTANT agreement that Issaries needs to get the factions to make?
>>28746630I'm gonna go with 2. They gonna get eaten, then we can move on to who they can eat, and bring back the bones.
>>28746630This one's a little hard to suss out from the story...I think it's 3 but I could be wrong as hell.
>>28746630Most important is 3 because it's trade, and trade is part of the cycle.
>>28746630Issaries set up all those things, but I think the most important part is returning the bones, since the Big Teeth lose nothing by agreeing to it, and the Long-Noses don't mind dying as much as not being interred properly.
Issaries realized that the problems faced by each clan were different. The Big-Teeth wanted to eat. The Long Noses wanted to bury their dead.
By convincing each side to accept the other's need, trade could start. Through the benefits of trade, peace could be made.
Unfortunately, it is not in the nature of a cat to let a meal walk away, on two legs or on four. What does Issaries do?I got the Sorcerous Implements for a reason.
>>28746851Now we trade with them.Though number 3 is tempting.
>>28746851TRADE SOLVES EVERYTHING
Somewhere inside Issaries, a trickster grins.
>>28746965And then Paratur came down with Pharaoh radiation poisoning.
Orstalor gets his first hug, putting his Trickster magic at risk, then the Tedanlings appear on the questing ground. All of them.Dazed and confused, they agree to end the feud if we tell them how to get home.>>28746995Orstalor still wonders if he could give people superpowers by keeping them around.
So you're saying that because we raided, we got fewer cows and less food this year?I'm not seeing the problem.
>>28747158Srsly. We're drowning in grain and we have TOO MANY goddamn cows already, surprisingly.
It is now Dark season. We'll go raiding, then do something else.Give me a target (Greydogs) and the something else. Has to be in-tula, so sacrifice/feast.
>>28747237What's good to sacrifice for right now? And whatever it is, can we make a fairly big sacrifice of cattle for it?
>>28747237Could do Blast Earth on the Armarglarlfdsjaoiewhfsdinging clan. Or Truesword to increase weaponthane strength.
>>28747237Any quests we need to bone up on?
>>28747354We've Truesword enshrined.
We're actually raiding the Jenestni, because the Greydogs are paying us tribute. Or at least we were, and then this happened. For the curious, the Tiger Eye Necklace helps in finding lost/stolen items.>>28747308Lots of mysteries to learn still. I don't think we've so much as touched Odayla's (not that his are very good).>>28747364Chalana Arroy and Uralda.
Uh oh. Some of our people want to marry their daughter to the son of the Vostangi chief. We're feuding with the Vostangi. How do we rule?
>>28747430Since we've a sheep surplus anyways, maybe we should make a new shrine?
>>28747501What did the Vostang do to us again??I guess we could go with #3 and try to improve relations with the Vostang.
>>28747564The Vostang tried to arrange a marriage in their clan, the wife ran to us and wanted out, we married her to one of ours, told the Vostangi to bugger off because our marriage was first and legally binding. Very Helen of Troy.
Something's going to ruin it, I just know it.
Huh. I was about to post the next update but we've hit the image limit. I'll call it here, we'll sacrifice next session. Probably the day after tomorrow, I won't be in any shape to run tomorrow. To find out exactly when that will be, use my Twitter (WatashiwaOnline). Thanks for playing, I hope everyone has had a good time. I'll stick around a bit to answer any questions you might have.
>>28747850Elmal heroquest soon?
>>28747980Next session, if you want it. That'll put our total at 6. Add Lhankor Mhy and we've got seven. We'll probably end up doing all the heroquests anyway.
>>28748055For the love of god let's try to beef up an Uraldan or something similar if we've got it before trying that.
>>28742955WHY DO YOU KEEP TRYING TO MAKE PEACE WITH THEM. BLOOD AND FIRE, GODDAMNIT! We keep getting sidetracked from getting rid of all these cows, and exterminating these motherfuckers.
>>28747354How many cows would we need to sacrifice: 100, 200? What if it was minimal and we sacrificed 100 or 200 cows anyway?
