I think of it like this.

There's two categories.
Mages and Non-Mages. We're pretty damn high on the Non-Mage category because we were dedicated swordsman prior to this job, our skills with the sword are generally greater than normal, non magic using people.

Now when we get into the Magic User Category, our sword skills count for far less. In this category we're rather weak, since we have no counters to certain spells, no extensive knowledge of magic, that sort of thing.

So in very short summery, we're like 10/10 against non-magic using enemies, but only maybe a 2/10 to 4/10 against magic using enemies.

That's how I think of it.
