The gates were massive. They were huge. Enormous. How else can you convey the sheer gargantuan size of a pair of gates made to accommodate gods? Silver, covered in gold leaf, they had made you feel so small before them, like an ant before a mansion's entry.

And even more astounding, they opened before you, granting you entry without anyone in sight.

The clouds beneath your feet soon gave way to pure white marble, without even a single fleck of black or gray, with columns and steps and roofs and all manner of architecture seemingly springing from the stone as the fog vanished, revealing to you and your group the true city in the sky. The stairway was nothing compared to this.

You send Sally a look, and the wonder in her eyes when she turns back to you resonates with your own sense of amazement. Zoe gives you a small smile when you look to her, and Aslan, a measured nod.

Well, then.

Time to find the Gods.

You’re about to take another step forward, when you hear something odd. Looking back to the others, you can see they haven’t picked up on it at all.

“Wait,” you ask them, and the group does stop, Sally looking at you curiously, while Aslan is much more on edge, something Zoe almost instantly picks up on. There- a shudder in the ground, a faint sound off in the distance… You strain to hear it clearer, looking to the others, and still, they show no signs of hearing anything. Asking them yields nothing, but…

Wait.

Is it...getting louder? And is it...getting...closer?

With a mighty roar, something crashes into the building right in front of you, missing you and your group by mere yards and sending rubble flying in all directions. Sally, despite her surprise, acts quickly, shielding you and Zoe with her claws, the worst of the debris bouncing off the blades on her knuckles, while you have to shield your eyes from the ensuing dust.

There’s another shuddering in the ground beneath you- then another, and another, and then you realize- they’re footsteps.

They’re the footsteps of something as big as what just landed in front of you, and it’s coming closer.

And as the footsteps draw nearer, you see what exactly made them-

A golden giant, with hammers for fists, striding across the smooth stone like a titanic king, with all the grace that follows.

A voice booms out, echoing throughout the surroundings, and belatedly, you realize that it's his voice you're hearing.

"BROTHER, WHAT'S WRONG? YOU SEEM TO HAVE LOST YOUR TOUCH-" He stops suddenly, going quiet, and turning to look down.

Down.

At you.

"And what...have we here?" He mutters, his voice much lower.
