[Making Up For Lost Time Edition. Continuing directly from where we left off last Wednesday!

"He? Who is this 'he'?" You refer, of course, to whomever Emporio is speaking about.

Emporio flashes a smile at you. "Oh, the Rogue Trader I mentioned before. Metis' son. His name is Kath, by the way. Rather young for a Rogue Trader, but it just happens that his crew is entirely made up of people who used to live in Morioh. Hell, his Warrant of Trade is something we pass down in here, since the caravan gets us necessary supplies to keep on going. "

"Oooh. Well, that's rather interesting. Say, how about I give a hand as well?"

Emporio throws his head backwards and laughs heartily. "Well wouldn't that be somethin'? Still, I don't know if you guys might be able to help. This guy can turn into a crane and all. You could just go and meet Kath instead, you know."

"I can control friction. Should come in handy."

"Ooh. So that's your Stand Ability? Well, yes, that should definitely make it easier to handle the containers."

"I can teleport objects between two places as well." Macha added. "I think we would be of great help."

Emporio smiled like a pleased schoolteacher would. "Excellent! Let's all go together."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

With your combined skills, moving crates and transporting them is a breeze. The human crewmembers do their best to keep up, but of course, they are no match for Stand power.

After some time, you're joined by Titus as well, who carries a crate atop his shoulder...and the boy from yesterday is sitting on top of it, spiritedly giving directions to the Astartes.

It doesn't take much time, but the load is dealt with. You and Macha lean against an empty cargo container, rather sweaty and spent from your efforts.

A red can, like out of nowhere, blocks your field of vision.

"I heard you guys were hard at work helping the crew of the 'Emerald Apostle'. Figured you would want something to drink." It's Taldeer, and what she's holding in front of you is a can of 'coke'.

"I'll pass." You answer shakily, feeling the droplets of sweat on your neck becoming impossibly cold. ""I don't mean to be rude or anything, Lady Taldeer, but I had a rather bad experience with that type of drink just now..." You do not think you could ever drink that beverage again without thinking you were eating Mikitaka up. In the most heterosexual way possible, of course.

"He pulled that prank on you, didn't he? Typical. It took me a while to even take a sip of this Coca-Cola beverage, too..." Taldeer opens the can with a loud, refreshing pop and drinks it herself instead. You see Macha started gulping down the drink, too, seemingly unconcerned with the previous incident.

"Aaaaah...Right, Macha. I actually came here to tell you to head home immediately after you were done, for your sanity's sake."

Macha looks up from her drink with those deep blues of hers, perplexed at her sister's advice. "Huh? Why's that?"

"Well...there's a certain 'tasteless individual' that just so happens to be part of the crew, and it would be better if you didn't cross paths with the-"

"Too late, mon'keigh fornicator!! Certainly I would be 'tasteless' to an inferior individual such as you!"

"Oh boy...too late..." you can swear you can see Taldeer slouch visibly, her eyes darkening into a gesture of annoyance, like one who had smelled something rotten.

You determine that the mysterious voice came from above you, so your crane your head up, towards the top of the container.

WHOAH!

You see Terra, you see Ultramar... You see Cadia, you see Vostrovia...

You immediately cast your vision down in respect upon having gotten an eyeful of panty-shot. Your face is red as a tomato. What an ungentlemanly turn of events! This is something you should not have seen, and you wished to eliminate from your memory.

Another, baser side of you, however, was rather elated thanks to the nice peek.

No! No no no no no! A gentleman does not surrender himself to such uncouth perversions!

A pair of booted feet seem to materialize within the edge of your peripheral vision. You glance upwards and see an Eldar woman, her hair an even darker shade of red that Macha's. Her fashion style seems perhaps too frilly for an Eldar, but it's not unlike something you'd see a Rogue Trader wearing, with the elaborate yet nonfunctional trims and puff.

She seems to be lacking on the chest department, too, but you don't mind since you've always liked smaller breasts better anywa-

NO! JOACHIM JOESTAR! THESE THOUGHTS ARE UNBECOMING OF ONE OF YOUR STATURE! GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER IT'S IN!

"Huh, so the desperate daughter of Ulthran is here as well. How pleasant."
>>
>>28459851
Ah yeah, Guardsman's bizarre quest!
>>
>>28459851

"Idranel, you're alive! We thought you dead!" You hear Macha exclaim gleefuly.

"And I see you are alive as well, daughter of Ulthran. How unfortunate."

"...Same old Idranel, huh." Macha's spirits deflate in four seconds flat. You had never seen someone go from being so ecstatic to annoyed quite so quickly.

Oh, right, you should probably introduce yourself. "Hello, Eldar Lady, my name is..."

"Mon'keigh filth I won't bother with."

Wow. Rude. Any small modicum of attraction you held for the woman vanished just as quickly as Macha's smile.

"As insufferable as ever, Idranel." If looks could kill, Taldeer's would be deadlier than a chainsword. Or two. Or a hundred.

"When one is surrounded by the likes of you, there's hardly any other way to act. I have to remind you to know your place."

You swear you can see Taldeer's eye twitch. However, this isn't over yet. You can see an evil glint on Taldeer's eye. "Oh, but your Captain is one of these 'inferior' mon'keighs, is he not?"

Idranel scoffs. "Kath is a filthy mon'keigh like any other. I just happen to owe him a debt of life, and as any true Eldar, I intend to repay it. Even if it's to a being so below me in the order of things."

Did you hear her voice soften slightly when saying 'filthy'? Must be your imagination.

"He also got you into that attire, didn't he?" Taldeer now bears a slasher smile. To be quite honest, you're even slightly intimidated by it. It looks positively maniacal.

"Hmph! This is all part of my debt. His request was for me to join his crew, and I must look the part. This clothing is not out of place for a crew member."

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Keep telling yourself that, Idry." Now Macha joined the brawl. S-scary!
>>
>>28460107

Idranel's expression shouts disgust once more. "Whatever. I really should not be wasting my time here with you.

You really shouldn't concern yourself with an individual so bitter. Maybe Taldeer's advice was for the best, and you should avoid her for now. Still, you make a mental note out of meeting this Captain Kath later.

"I'll see you two later. I want to check up on the others."

You say your goodbyes to Macha and Taldeer, and go on your merry way.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Before long, you meet up with Mercuria, who is helping organize supplies.

"Hey, JoJo! I heard you were helping these guys out. Seems our Stands are more useful for things like these than you'd think!"

She was right. Stands definitely had very handy mundane utilities. If only you got a chance to enjoy those uses more. Maybe after your mission for the Emperor is all done, you'll look into ways to take advantage of your abilities.

"Yeah, it's really relaxing to use our Stands for labor like this. We get it done quickly and feel accomplished all the same. In any case, Mercuria, I wanted to ask you something."

"Shoot."

"Have you seen Criehr or Yuu'yan? I'd like to check up on those two."

"Oh! Well, I saw Yuu'yan and the other Guardsmen near the edge of town. As for Criehr, I think she stayed back in the house."

"Got it. Thanks, Merc. I'll see you later."

You decide to check up on Yuu'yan, and the Guardsmen from the Cadian 203rd. Hopefully they're holding up rather well.

Well, they do seem to be. Some of them are doing target practice (by shooting at Coca-Cola cans, even. What's with this town and that drink?).

"Hey, Joachim!" Yuu'yan calls out. "What're you doing here?"

"I just wanted to check up on you and the rest of the Guardsmen. Nothing extraordinary, really. I was just curious as to how everything was going along."

"Well, these guys had some trouble at first, but they seem to have gotten the hang of Shuriken weapons quickly enough. I had some help from Ronahn, though, so I can't take all the credit. In any case, I'd say we've got ourselves a 20-something humans fighting force which can be easily equipped with what we have back in 'Isha's Embrace'. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself."

"That's great! Thanks, Yuu'yan!"

"Don't mention it, bud. I've grown fond of these guys myself rather quick. Guess that's what a cultural exchange does to you."

>Ask Yuu'yan to teach you to use said weaponry.

"Now that I think about it, Yuu'yan...it'd definitely be nice if I could learn how to use said weaponry, as well. Could come handy in a pinch."

"Don't know how a Shuriken Catapult could be more useful than your Stand, but if you want to learn how to use them, I'll definitely help you out."
______________________________________

It doesn't take you long to learn how to wield the Eldar instruments of combat, surprisingly enough. Yuu'yan compliments you on being a natural.

You decide to do a little experimenting with Low Rider. As it turns out, you cannot reduce the friction of the shurikens safely (as you might wound Low Rider, and, by extension, yourself) when the projectile is ejected, but you can, at the very least, reduce the friction of the barrel considerably, allowing for the projectiles to be ejected with higher speed and even less of the already negligible recoil.

Low Rider's skills can definitely make Eldar Shuriken weapons somewhat stronger, unlike Lasweaponry, but the raw abilities of Low Rider might have better applications in a combat situation.

Another peculiar thing you notice is the fact that you can see in detail when a shuriken is launched, thanks to Low Rider's eyes. Good to know, should you ever find yourself on the trajectory of one.

You thank Yuu'yan, before deciding what to do next.
