It started with a message that spread across every electronic device on the planet. Glowing words that declared that humanity needed to prepare for a coming change. Three days later, the skies lit up with auroras of seemingly impossible colors. And echoing across the globe was a voice that no man could make. It declared that all those who had visited the website known as 4chan in the past three months were to be vacated from the planet as punishment for a crime that humanity had committed. The poor fools were given the option of carrying two hundred pounds of gear or, as an act of mercy, were allowed to take one person(and only one) and one hundred pounds of supplies for the both of them.

Those dogged survivors were given ten minutes as a wave roared across the world, swallowing them up in a curtain of light, never to be seen again...Only to seemingly in the next instant wake up upon another world.

Now exiled to a world so far from home that nothing remains the same, they are forced to scrape out a living upon a wild, untamed planet under an alien star.

Welcome to Lenore.

The area that /tg/ inhabits has grown in the past threads. Cities and shipyards have sprung up. Conflict has arisen with the /b/arbarian hordes to the North, and the foreign and strange fungus covered "elf" from Nightmare woods.

It is now the 7th wave. Humans have been on Lenore for over 3 years now. Each year has two waves that continue to grow exponentially in size.

Word arrived at the Tower that the Confederacy was having an inauguration day. Apparently they wanted to throw a party and invite people from each city-state could meet and greet, maybe set up trade agreements or other arrangements. It should help everyone to know who and what they may be called to defend should another attack happen.

I took all the new Hunter candidates. We would be training them in simple foraging and survival along the way. When we arrive we plan to all change into our new silk robes. We should be rolling up as a unified group of dark skinned, silk robed wizards. Hopefully the joke of pretending to be Dunmer might make a few fellow neckbeards chuckle; at least it made me laugh when Kathelyn suggested it.

From what we’ve been hearing of Jill’s time at the Apiary we should be looking at some really tasty food.

So, there may or may not be jitterbugs in the cake...we honestly don't know. Just..let's pretend there isnt and we'll see if the 'delegates' end up tripping face for a bit.

yeah..everything's gonna be fine.

The power one of these ancient machines held was astonishing. As long as you prevented anyone from sniping into the cockpit, or throwing flaming liquids in at you, you could seriously cut a bloody path through an enemy’s ranks. The suit itself took care of half the combat data you were seeing, interpreting your body movements into suit movements as well as helping assist to make sure each overextended blow connected with something properly.

We cut our way through the “gardens” of their deviant Namefag leadership. Vast walled ancient gardens had been turned into vile playgrounds for each depraved act their leadership could emulate. There were a few who had still survived through the conflict. Some of them impaled on strange contraptions, forced to live out a slow agonizing death. Others drugged and chained to walls, the ground around them stained with blood, sweat, and cum. A group of the men worked on freeing the ones in the “better” condition, the ones we could not aid were given quick deaths.

After what seemed like an eternity walking through Dante’s nine layers of hell we arrived at an open plaza that surrounded a large mansion. Surrounding the mansion and the plaza itself was a shallow river of what I can only assume was blood mixed with something flammable. Apparently the deviants had created some kind of oil from the natural plants. The powered Gigant standing in front of me was glistening in all its corrupted glory.
>>
>>28445013
And what happens when one of them figures out what the hell is going on (Becuase he is already a user)?

Pretty much everyone on the planet has done the jitter bug at one point in their time here. If they haven't personally, they have seen someone do it and know what to expect. If they all start tripping they're gona be yelling for the guards to kill the cook for attempted assassination.

After all, guards won't be eating with the representatives.

>>28445160
Well at least someone knows what there doing then. I feel sorry for the cook though, just imagine if there is an accident ...

Well a way as recently passed...buggy still hasn't returned. He is never gone that long. Buggers are breaking apart and turning on each other. Guess that whole deal about being one big family with the whole sisterhood and brotherhood is for nothing. Things are strained once it sinks in that Buggy is likely dead everything will go to hell in a hand basket. He may have been a ruthless dictator but he kept everyone united and feeling like family thanks to all the hardships to join. Only real thing that kept everyone from turning on each other besides Buggy himself.

The Khornates sent one last warband underground in the hope to find him. If they don't return Teddy will be the new boss from what I hear that dude is honorable to a fualt...unless he is fighting a dishonorable opponent. If the stories are true he will then drop the honorable act out of sheer rage and then beat said dishonorable motherfucker to death with another dishonorable motherfucker. Not sure that is actually true but it seems like has long you keep honor he'll return the favor.

Finally while I was out scouting a new Nurgle guy came in...someone now known as Big Daddy. Apparently that individual traveled around the entire continent and even the nightmare forest. Supposedly the dude I think even traveled around on and under the seas. I don't know what to believe rumor is a fickle thing around here a lot of stuff tends to get over inflated. Regardless upon his arrival sometime after a rapedatclyle came around and took a kid. No one can seem to agree what happened after here are some samples of what is claimed.

one story claimed dude jumped of a high point on the Fortress landed on it and then beat said rapedactlye to death bare handed mid air. When they crashed he rose up and had the kid in his hands unharmed.

Another popular one was him grabbing a bunch of bomb fruits and throwing them at the rapedatycle blowing out of the sky and promptly grabbed the kid midair without budging a inch ect.
>>
>>28445594
As in he grabbed the kid midair or just stood there without budging an inch and caught the kid.

Thanks to the recent Nurgle purge dude was quickly rose up the ranks. It did the trick repairing the damage especially when he dude was found regularly playing with the children. Despite the whole hazmat/big daddy looking outfit gets along very well with children. His first act as nurgle cult leader was establishing a daycare. Real nice guy unless you mess with the children in which case not even the alien assholes who brought us here can save you from his wrath. Seriously, don't fuck with kids I swear to god I saw him punt a guy who took candy from a baby so hard he crash landed back on Earth.

People don't really know much about him besides the whole schtick the cults claim especially considering he doesn't talk. Only way he communicates is with the chalkboard tied around his neck the kids gave him. From what he wrote about it seemed the whole wandering around the continent is the real deal. Got his suit from a bugger group modified by /diy/, /sci/ and even /k/. Some claim its an artifact. I don't know about that for sure considering what its all covered in and the usual rumors of course.

Welp shit officially hit the fan. Everyone of the cult leaders ALL of them including the major blocks such as the Chaos Star, Sanctum, New and Old World. Are at each others throats aka about to kill each other. That was when the Lady of the SCIENCE Cult came around. Somehow...they all left that room peacefully.

From what I later heard she soothed them, brought up the Buggy's wishes, and finally what it means to be a Bugger. While the Buggers may be breaking up due to reasons they all promised to stay true as bugger and consider each other family. Its just sometimes you can't stand family and need some space.

After that I heard what each of the groups the leader of the Slanneshi cult known as Double D or DD for short who everyone agrees that is a trap but not sure of what gender exactly...spoke with the tzeentch cult leader about helping out a certain friend. Apparently beyond making /v/ and /b/ duke it out they plan to manipulate troops from both sides to attack the Empire near there. Turns out Tzeentch were going to do it anyway. As they had been ordered to fuck with both of them to buy /tg/ time. Thing was the orders were to make them focus on each other. That didn't please them they wanted to show off and decided to buy even MORE time by making them target the empire. Turns out the idea even before DD brought it up. Bastards, if Buggy was here he would string them up alive as example.

Problem is I am a lowly scout ain't no one going to believe me and their technically following orders which even worse. They are just stretching it a bit and making it even more effective...

Fighting on the ground with sword in hand and boots in dirt is one thing, fighting in a 13 foot tall demonized Gigant plugged into your brain and aiding your every dodge, parry, and strike is something completely different.

I later learned that the First, Fifth, and Sixth had each engaged one of the Namefag leaders and taken them down. I was one of the last cohorts to engage one of the cities rulers and this one had a personal Gigant rather than a mob of loyalists. He had taken special care to have his Gigant outfitted with a pair of breasts and a massive horse cock. Futanari murals covered every spare space on the machine. Each shoulder was covered in pauldrons of multiple lactating breasts. I remember thinking that if not for the fact I was determined to kill this man and purge his city for my own conquest, I would have killed him for the grotesque thing he tried to call art.

Each machine began the slow warm up jog towards each other, gaining speed with each step until the two of us collided with such force several of the welded on iron pieces flew off of both of our Gigants. I made and attempt to chop into his suit with the axe in my right hand and he swung a sword down at me. The two of us caught the others blow with our off-hand and for a while we were stuck trying to either push down harder, or free ourselves from the others grip. Unable to move the bastard thrust the phallic piece towards the cockpit of my suit. Luckily it shattered on the armor, but I was startled enough for him to disarm my axe and separate from the melee.

I gave a few quick jabs at the air with a fist to get a feel for the new weight without the axe. The suit really didn’t support a boxing stance and it was extremely difficult to put hips into a blow and the entire strike relied on the ability of the suit to throw a punch flat footed. My axe was now stuck in a wall a good ways away and he would be able to cut me down before I made it to it.
>>
>>28445964
For a 13 foot tall monster, the Gigant can really move when it needs too. As we moved back into range again I was intent on avoiding all of his blows until I saw an opening I could exploit. He would make a quick, but weak strike, and I would step away from its path. His heavy blows would come down on empty stone floors. I was going to draw him out and make him angry. I wanted to make him angry enough to make mistakes. Then I would exploit the mistakes and crush him. It took a few more missed strikes before he attempted a thrust. I could tell the suit was reluctant to follow his overly dramatized thrust that would leave him off balance and open for a counter, it knew what he was doing was wrong, but the interface wasn’t able to override the orders of the pilot. This brief stutter between the machine and pilot gave me a perfect opening.

I swatted his wrist with my off-hand sending his blade crashing to the ground and catching a hold of him. A quick follow through with a strong right hook into the cockpit crushed bottom corner where the pilots legs go. The futanari gigant backed up and stumbled as the machine programing took over for the footwork. I looked at the crush cockpit and the interface zoomed in to show a trickle of blood running out of it. At least I had done some damage to the pilot.

By now our engagement had forcefully removed most of the additional items from the both of our Gigants and neither of us were armed. It seemed like we would be settling the future of this city by a fist fight in giant mechs.

It seems like everytime I get back to the Keep I have another reason to pack up and leave again. First it was the elves at the logging camp, then it was the north settlement, then the moot at the Apiary and now they've agreed to my suggestion of a 'Confederation Day' or whatever it would end up being called.

Butterroot Keep will be throwing a celebration of its own, here to commemorate the day as well, but I still intend to join the contingent to the South for the actual festival and for that we need to get some serious preperation done. We will need to wear the best examples of Butterroot clothing that ourseamstressest can provide, whose skill has improved to quite impressive level, although we will still be wearing the older Flax style cloth rather than the newly acquired silk. I can allready see it in my mind, a group of people looking like the huns in various shades of orange. They have even insisted on preparing special pieces for the event for the leaders of the Keep, which, according to them, includes me as well. I just feel like I give suggestions and people either agree or disagree, but aparantly to them I'm the actual leader with the Mayor and the Canoness absent.

We still have other things to prepare but I have a spectacle to prepare, a Grand Tourney. The Tower shouldn't be to suprised, they've seen us hold them for our harvest festivals but the rest of /tg/ should get a suprising kick out of it I think. Some might even participate in the melee and archery sections, though I suspect only Butterroot will really be providing anyone for the Joust. Last time we only had padded clothing and short padded sticks but this time I intend to have men and women in armour with proper lances, breakable and padded, but proper lances all the same.

I suggested this whole thing so I intend for Butterroot to bring its A-Game.

Well for once managed to drag Lady Veronica. Never call her that when she is working I can't tell you how many sorry saps who ended up becoming a test subject under mysterious circumstances because of that. Not even Buggy himself dared call her that. Instead you must call her Dr. Drake(when working) or Lady/Miss Drake to just play safe.

She reminded them of the the meaning of being a bugger and unity. She did however allow them to do their own thing now but had a request. As she had the final wishes of Buggy written down somewhere. It was to fuck with /b/ and /v/ in order to buy /tg/ time. Buggy was well aware that unless some serious shit went down despite the bottleneck /tg/ would be deep trouble. This included watching the mountains.

Today we experienced the first true attack on our home turf.
A Slaaneshi warband, desperate for fresh slaves and food, stormed the west most section of the Wall, the section under the command of the Fort Typhus, and therefore my command. They stormed the wall with ladders and grappling hooks, under the cover of tortoise shields in one of our formations. They were turning our tactics against us, to bad for them they were outdated and we knew exactly how easy it was to defend a proper wall against these sort of attacks, even with an unfinished fort the wall was very easy to defend, I suppose we were just lucky that they hadn’t sent scouts further to the west to where construction was still ongoing.

But Pappa Nurgle was with today and a combination of massed fire from our new powerful crossbows and the catapults from the fort decimated their lines and those did managed to reach the top of the wall faced men with smaller shields and short iron swords, and were quickly cut down. The field was littered with their dead and the survivors fled into the distance without even a single one of them ever setting foot on the ramparts. Our own casualties were minimal and not a single death among them. Simply put, a massacre.

We didn’t even get to test the new toys that we had been shipped from the Cathedral, small round iron spheres with a short fuse on the top, we didn’t have enough to issue every man but small groups of grenadiers were armed and were positioned at key points of the wall, they would be deadly if we ever got occasion to use them.
>>
>>28449881
The Wall completion is imminent, the warbands that assault it directly are destroyed and those that try to bypass it into our heartland are caught by the local forces of the Overlords and slaughtered on the field of battle. Our combined phalanx formation with the two handed swordsman in the lines and the shield and crossbow artillery behind them stops most other hordes dead even those who attempt to employ the old formations against us.

The construction of the wall and the numerous victories we have been experiencing is bringing Bubonicus into spotlight, restoring the respect we once held as the massive Nurgling Horde. Many of the territories bordering the wall have voluntarily agreed to bow to us as protectorates in return for resources and men, expanding our effective territory to much of the southern half of /b/. Several hold outs remain, a Tzeentch power calling itself the New Sun Empire is to our direct north, Bastion and its surrounding land remains free to our west, the eastern coast remains spotted with individual warlords, to the north west the hill tribes remain our allies but under their own rule and to the far north the Great City of /b/ is still the chaotic mess that it has always been. Beyond the city I have no idea what is happening, as we have long been out of contact with the Free Cities of /g/ and the warbands of the northcoast of /b/.

So many enemies so close to us and so few allies and additionally we know that a crusade exists in the very far east, passed the despicable /v/ermin, led by whom I do not know and /tg/ still grows stronger and more powerful, news of a unification under the banner of Confederation has reached us whihc is troubling, still there is news of the one that has refused membership.

To many enemies for comfort, but not to many to kill because we are the inheritors of /b/ and we will bury them under our corpses and our blood.
>>
>>28450192

So we build and we prepare, because I do not believe the New Sun Empire will allow us to continue to build in peace, they wish to usurp us as the greatest power in /b/ and throw all their might into preparing for war and already we have caught infiltrators and saboteurs amongst the new recruits. The others worry me as well but none are such a present threat as them.

I am simply thankful for my preachers who walk our lands and beyond to preach, utterly dedicated and incredibly persuasive, their words and doctrine spread like a disease through any community they enter. Any infiltrator unlucky enought o try and enter such a community is quickly turned out and disposed of in horrifying ways.

Even I must catch myself when I hear their sermons and I know that the entire religion is a farce to constructed to hold a nation together.

I have instructed a few to slip into /tg/ however and to seek out this Hadesopolis or whatever it was called. They say the man who slew the Bastard leads them and that they have denied membership of the confederation.

If they could be turned.

Mossingburg had split into several conflicting groups. We had cultists added in with day/k/are and /k/ommando’s whose soul interest was playing in the forests. The Council would have liked me to squash all of the various groups and establish full control of Mossingburg, however each group had their uses. As long as I retained control of the Alchemist with supplies sent in across the Empire I could placate each group with the usage of the Forge. Day/k/are was more than happy to have a steady supply of ammo so they could go shoot shit, and like any skilled politician I used their bloodlust to defend the borders and make myself look better.

The Wastelands to our east were receiving large numbers of humans with each wave of arrivals. Most the nerds would end up starving off or becoming a snack by a Yowler. The predators of the Wastelands had to be engorged and may very well die off from overeating. Those that survived long enough to learn how to eat and avoid the predators group into small warbands. As simple nerds having withdrawals from video gaming addiction they aren’t very efficient. They consume their food supplies within a few days and then turn on other groups with raids and murder.

Occasionally someone will be wise enough to lead a larger group of these kids. They’ll form into a warband with some of the oddest weapon choices I’ve ever seen. I was out in the field talking with some of the /k/ommando’s playing inawoods when the warband attacked. Their first way was, I shit you not, nerds swinging corded controllers around. Old N64 controllers, SNES, Playstation, I think I even remember seeing one with a Dreamcast controller. Of course having a steady supply of ammunition they were cut down rather quickly by both my guard and the /k/ommando’s sniping from the woods.

Their second wave was a little more prepared and they used caveman or bronze era weapons. Sticks with sharp stones secured to them, replica swords brought from Earth, and a few people using looted Builder swords. Seriously, it was like duck hunting with an unlimited license. Every time you pull the trigger you nail one, and you don’t ever have to stop.

We had some fun killing the raiders, but we knew it was a waste of energy to try and hunt them all down. When I returned to Mossingburg I spoke with some of our architects about shifting our industrial production into building watch towers along the border and stocking them with enough materials to repel those raids. If we make it so deadly to enter our land the warbands will learn their lessons and turn further east. The architects drafted up a set of plans for a 10 person outpost that would have a beacon should the tower come under attack.

Mossingburg as well as the Empire had managed to secure nearly 20 dwarves in various woods or mines across the Northern coast. Most of the time they worked on the city itself, but we split them off and sent 10 out to build these towers. News was coming in that our own warband was securing a mine in /gif/ to supply us with a surplus of a high quality granite as well as copper.
>>
>>28450414
It has been nearly a year since we began construction of the watchtowers. A wall was added in certain strategic defensive spots. We don’t really have the material to cover the entire Empire in a wall yet, but from reports the horde is completely unable to deal with the wall. Their options are to pile up dead bodies to make stairs or withdrawal. Most nerds are unwilling to die just to make a step.

I think if we keep the building projects going they’ll see us as a fully loaded SWAT team defending a grocery store, and then they’ll turn back at the wastelands and see the wastelands as a blind crippled old woman defending a cart of food. They’ll strike the old woman before they engage the SWAT team. Or, at least as long as that woman isn’t Ethel, that old girl is BOSS!

The factions of Mossingburg have taken to calling me Derek the Stalwart Engineer. I guess it’s true since we’ve rebuilt industry using the Alchemist and now we are building defensive fortification facing the Wastelands. I’ve pulled back 5 of the Dwarves and sent them on to other projects across the Empire. The 5 left building walls will continue stretching the wall out, but I have no assumptions of them finishing a full wall any time soon.

I also received word from the “Legion” in the field. The Hexumviri has had to change the mindset of the warband and they’ve chosen to follow a Roman legion theme with a lot less bloodlust than they left Mossingburg with. They’ve organized the men into cohorts that each councilor directs. We’ve been training the new arrivals from the last two waves for fighting in the Legion. We’ve made a mandatory military service of two years for men of able body. If they want to use the resources of the Empire, they will have to defend it. We tell them stories of how the warband walked across /gif/ with no resistance so they are more willing to follow orders when they first arrive. Once we’ve trained them and sent them out they can figure it out for themselves.

We’ve also got shipyards popping up and shipping lanes forming between the North peninsula, Mossingburg, and Squat. Squat has these old alien ships that are larger than any we’ve built so far and can carry a lot more materials. War materials are being sent to the front to support the troops, and in return they ship back Mote stones and other alien artifacts for our scientists to catalog. I hope we never have to fight against these things that once piloted our Gigant’s into battle.

One of the men from /jp/ has become our Gigant engineer. He apparently dug a broken gigant up while hoeing a field up north. Being an otaku he immediately began to disassemble what he called a Mobile Suit. Having a degree in Engineering helped him, but he is our simple repairman and is working on trying to get the Gigant’s a better power source. He says we need some kind of micro nuclear reactor, but a lot of what he says goes in one ear and out the other.

((In all fairness, the alchemist is so easy to break. If you've got designs for pieces of a machine and have it tool them so you can assemble it you can build anything.))

Tch, that poser, Malus has been riding high ever since he dealt with that insignificant rabble that charged his wall like a bunch of idiots.

Unlike him my section of the wall and my fort have been fully completed ahead of schedule and we have even begun installing the new ballista that the Scholar back at the Cathedral whipped up, first of their kind, entrusted to me because of my position of favour and trust to Lady S'ndra. While Malus sits with a half-built fort still waiting to be finished. Yet he garners praise for a routine action against a group of psychotics, who was it that designed the wall to begin with, not Malus but I. I may of been a simple architect back on Earth but here I was the designer of fortresses and great curtain walls and a leader of men on top of it.

Because of this I can't help but think that although my Wall protects Bubonicus behind it, it does not provide any protection to the lands beyond it that we have swayed to our side and I know that something must be done if we are not to lose them.

So unlike Malus, who is content to sit and wait for the next foolish group to run at his walls to die, I must shoulder the burden of planning ahead for the inevitable future. The northern fiefdoms are our buffer agains the New Sun and the last thing we can afford is for them to be swept up because we were lazy. To accomplish this I have started funneling resources, such as bricks baked from clay and mud and mortar, to the largest and most trusted of these fiefdoms, with them I have sent designs for simple but sturdy brick castles and their surrounding walls. At the very least they need to improve on the wooden castles that serve as their only protection at the moment. But should they complete the castles and stockpile enough food, they should be able to resist an enemy force long enough for support to arrive.

Not all of them shall be completed in time, but enough will be to keep the buffer zone from being simply overrun.

And thus the wheel continues to turn.

I'm not saying I'll be making a nuclear reactor, that's stupid. What I'm saying is that if you can fashion hinges, braces, bolts, and nails the Alchemist can speed up the production of finished products necessary for building.

The mech guy was just a way for me to explain the upkeep of the Gigant's in Mossingburg. He's a batshit crazy otaku who has a little too much love for mecha anime

that doesnt sound that dangerous I mean sure it can kickstart things like handicrafts and ensure ammo continues on forward but they need the materials right?

Journal Log 22

So while everyone is off throwing Confederation Day parties or having historical peace meetings with the creepy elves, I've been here getting Camp Abaddon up and running. For the most part, the first camp is completed. We have an outer and inner wall, several long houses for various uses including staff and guild works and the refugee housing area, which is already being filled. Seventh wave has been pouring in steadily. My rangers have been bringing them in but right now, most are stumbling through the gates on their own, following the series of beacons and markers I had set up. The new arrivals are coming in a mix of frightened and traumatized while others think the whole thing is a dream or a grand adventure, treating it as an alien summer camp. Then there's this asshole who pulled a .22 pistol he stole from his dad's closet on me and declared himself in charge. There are people like this in every wave and this one only lost his hand rather then his life. There have been many injuries so far, from wildlife or scuffles for resources or differing opinions. We're filling up pretty quickly and I have all the build teams already working on the second camp a few miles away. We have people gathering up the arrivals in groups of 20 or so and instructing them on building their first housing and what to expect here. At least one team has finished their shitty wood and canvas tent but it was a rush job and probably won't survive the first storm that comes through. They'll learn. Once they're finished learning we'll distribute them to the city states as needed and send the rest to Kog to be gangpressed into the guilds or manual labor, though Central Supply is already stripping them of anything useful first.
>>
>>28452811
yeah, and it also has the downside of making them reliant, they are limited to how much it can produce at a time and if it is ever destroyed/stolen/stops working then they have no alternatives.

Other boards can't produce what they can right now but long term they are likely to exceed them and /k/ is unlikely to realize this while they enjoy that advantage

One of the Science guild engineers came up with an interesting idea. We've got a lot of shit in storage right now from the new arrivals, one of which is a gas generator. No gas of course, why plan ahead right? So the guildie wants to dismantle it and suggested we can build a windmill on one of the foothills to get the thing going and maybe get some power flow here. We've always got a breeze blowing here. It won't be anywhere near peak of what the generator is capable of but it's better than nothing I guess. We'll need something to regulate the power but he says he can manage that too so I gave him the go ahead. Our newbies in the meantime are either obediently following orders or being stubborn assholes. I implemented a new rule for the time being. If you aren't helping, you sleep outside the walls. Most of the survivors are from the great suburbia or the city and even the slightest sounds of wilderness sets them on edge. It might be harsh on some. I need to find the right balance of cruel and kind to keep these people sane.

It's been a week and we're already maxed out with refugees. Camp 2 doesn't even have its first building up. I'm sending some of the more adaptable and skilled newbies over to help while I start working on the details of Camp 3. I took a break mid afternoon and took my catamaran for a sail across the lake. Project Fuck the Kelpies really decimated the population and they're few and far between now, enough so that you can safely swim, near the shore at least. They avoid the shallows where we can get them. They're learning to fear us. Good. I've had the lake surveyed before, it's about 10 meters deep at the center and has a sandy bottom. There must be some kind of thing down there eating all the detritus, the lake's an underwater barren wasteland. It's mostly carnivorous creatures with the Kelpie at the top of the chain and they've been knocked down a peg. There doesn't seem to be anything else that would go after something human sized. At least that we've seen, I'm sure there's some horror down there. There always is on this world. When I got back from my amazing odyssey, I found that the newbies are rebelling. Someone got them all worked up about their treatment since they arrived and has been playing off their fears. I pointed out that they have been fed well and that they have shelter, they just need to build it. Also it's going to rain tonight. We do need more entertainment. Entertainment is how you control people, and that's why I'm weary of the Entertainment guild, never mind that they have a silly church.

I'm still not sure why I've been left in charge of this place. I'm better exploring the unmapped wilds or cutting cultists in half. Administration is giving me Earth flashbacks. We are now at double our capacity. I'm having the guilds sort out who's the best adapted and sending them up to Kog via caravan. Camp 2 only just poured their foundations out. We needed more time. I guess this will be a great success for wave 8, but right now, this is a damn mess and I have a feeling that I'm going to get the blame. Since the King of Butterland or whatever left, I've been the defacto one in charge. Anyways, we got our wind generator up and running and it's good enough to charge phones. I've had Central Supply return everyones smartphones for the time being and set up a laptop as a main network hub. Abaddon.net is a go. That has eased everyones minds a bit at least. I think tomorrow I'm taking a bunch out on a nature walk. It's time they see the wilds while in a non confused state of mind.

The Great City is unlike anything I have ever seen, either here or back on earth.

It size alone is truly awesome, one can stand on the southern wall and look out into the distance and not see the other side of the city, even the wall under your feet stretches out into the horizon to the east and west. The streets are a chaotic mess of a web that spreads into every direction and seem never to end

Then there are the buildings, some are massive towering pyramid like structures with extravagent monuments built into them, some are spiraling towers with murals of war are depcited along its sides in colored pieces of tile and then there are those that are simply tiny hovels that seem to have been wedged into a tiny gap between two other buildings.
Nothing seems to have been intelligently planned or mapped out, simply built where there was space and with whatever materials had been available at the time in a style that they wanted.

It makes me that who ever brought us here has a sense of humor at least, since this city truly reflects the sheer chaos of this land and the people of /b/ that populate it.

This isn't what I expected at all. I mean sure I knew we were going to be in an alien world, so I packed up on food and some camping gear but I didn't expect to be dropped on a deathworld. Nearly had my head ripped off by a shrieking monster on the first night if I hadn't managed to out run it, climb up a tree and fend it off with a heavy branch. It had me stuck up there for three nights before it finally pissed off after something else and I didn't climb down until two nights later, having eated all of my own food.

Thats when I discovered one of the beacons, little markers set out to attract us towards this place, Camp Abaddon, a hope inspiring name if I've ever heard one. So I followed the beacons, nearly getting myself killed and getting mysef lost twice because I made the mistake of eating those damn insects. But eventually I did stumble in through the gates of the Camp and before I knew it I was stripped of all my stuff, stuck with nine strangers, given a short briefing of where we were and who these people were and that we were going to build our own house.
Well, at least Im not in New Jersey anymore.

The camp is a goddamned mess with the rain. Fuck us, I thought Kog was bad when we first got there, but jesus H christ it never fucking ends. Fuck this, I want to get that cushy job over in the apiary already.

Some things never fucking change. Once again we've had to teach newbies what they're actually likely to face here. That said we showed them a yolwer just after it'd hatched today and tossed it furby. A video mysteriously showed up on AbaddonNet that has all of my Rangers talking. It looks like it's footage from that peace meeting with the elves. The video is of a real living Builder. It's short but has it cutting down some elves as some kind of punishment. I studied the sword movements as best as I could considering the video quality, it's a fucking blur. I have a new respect of them, and a fear that there may be more. I've seen the walls, I've had the dreams; we would be prey to them and nothing more. I hope those are the only ones, I really do, but I know better. Anyways, enough speculation. Newbies up at Camp2 have started building their own housing and I wish I could say it was relieving our population issues but it's not because they're still pouring in. We're barely managing to keep them all fed at this rate. I'm going to have my Rangers and some of Da Boyz that are still here take groups out for hunting trips and harvest as much as we can. I'm going to see if I can't get the Agriculture guildies stationed here into founding a farm but the land probably is all wrong, it's all foothills. Fishing is limited. Last census taken last night puts close to two thousand people in Camp1 alone, which was designed for a few hundred. We're putting the newbies to work expanding Camp1 and rushing Camp2 and 3's construction. It's either this or just cancel the whole Abaddon project. Maybe a better name could have been chosen. Perhaps I should embrace the fail and name my shitty catamaran the Titanic as well.

We've had trouble. Apparently a few of our newbies aren't actually new arrivals, they're cultists that slipped in. Stole some fresh clothes off a corpse and put on their best scared face. Tzeentch cultists. Newbies can be swayed with their lies when the fantasy seems better then the dirty wet reality that we're all living in right now. We were lucky this time, one of the new arrivals with a particular grudge against anything 40K knocked on my door in the night to tell me personally. We've rooted out the cultists and revealed them for the insane shams that they are. Their cultist paraphernalia was taken and burned to ash and the ones they were influenced have been taken aside for counseling. I had the cultists loaded on the Titanic and sailed them out of sight of the camps. I told the newbies that they were being sent to a work prison. Chaos cults are outlawed, Period. In truth they where we pushed overboard with weights tied to their legs. In retrospect, I may have gone too far. I was just so angry at the time and not one of my men said a thing in objection when the order was given.
>>
>>28456453
Gotta love that zero tolerance policy. Why did we start that again?
>>
Since my men men were killed, I've been thinking, and through the rage I'm remembering the past. The plants here and giving me a drug fueled fantasy stoked by the elves that found me when I was sick. With the information given to me during the meeting and information I remember from Earth I now have a plan for my revenge. The elves that are more more loyal to me, some because they like me, some because they are a step above retards, some because they remember earth but are to monsterus looking to join civilazation, then the high elves have followed my plan. we've been taking butter root from the forest and copying what the ones in the keep do to it to get the oil. we've also been ambushing people that have a lot of guns we even found one that had some grenades.

>>28456771

I didn't really stick around for the celebration. I had to get back to work at the camp. My wife calms people's hearts and keeps them comforted, but she's not really a labor leader - at least outside the church. That's mostly by choice, I believe, but even so - I was needed there.

Before leaving I sat down with the various leaders and laid out some figures we'd compiled. My initial estimates were way, way off. A new person had popped near to the meeting with a still functional computer - fortunately after the meeting with the aliens was over. He had some 4chan statistics on there. Apparently the absolute MINIMUM population for /tg/ after the waves finish is two million. I had underestimated what we're likely to face severely. We're going to need a lot of tools, food and goods to save these people and keep them from going raider on us.

There won't be a ton of those people in this wave - I remain confident that various settlements can absorb them. However, future waves will quickly become overwhelming if we don't get these people productive ASAP.

I'm bringing a few of the Keep's skilled farmers with me on this run, as well as other professionals. They can educate the new people and give them a friendly face to get familiar with.

Well - I hope they kept up on the numbering system and profiles. Chaotic as it is certain to be, at least some degree of record keeping is essential.

The patrols are organized, and people know what they have to bring in. It's time to head back to Camp Abaddon.

I along with a few others, entered the keep of The Hunter, of of the highest of elves, with his mighty bow that only needs the magic stones to fire shots that never miss. We brought him the guns, when he asked to see how they worked I shot him in the head, his guards were killed by men. I grabbed the bow, and as many of the glowing stones as we could and ran outside to the twenty wivern that had "gifts" for the hunter, in reality they were supplies for the trip to the north where the Lucky's enemies were. After we were out of the tower, we set fire to the oil that we "watered" the tree with. We would find this group that the Lucky feared and we would give them elven poison arsenal.

People forget things I'm coming to finding the weather. They forget that in the past our lives were dictated by it. Now, on this hell world we are being taught again to respect it. No cars to hide and no air condition to cool with. They forget how to dress these newbies forget we were pampered back on earth for the most part. We of the agricultural guild have been told to break that delusion.

My men have found a set of wivern tracks heading out from the Nightmare woods, I wouldn't be worried but the tracks crossed the river and carried on passed the Keep and continuing east.

These bastards were supposed to keep to the forest and keep the hell out of our own land, so I've sent a runner back to tell Lucky about this. Bet my whisky ration he's going to flip his lid when gets the news, he hates that elf murderer more than any of us.

So right now we have god damn posse after these guys, our Scale Hounds allready have their scent and on flat ground we should be able to outpace their Wiverns, their ability to glide and climb over obstacle worry me though. Still, the Outriders are good at their job and we should be able to catch up with them and close in on their position without alerting them.

Whether we try and engage depends entirely on their what their intentions seem to be. If we do, we all have a fire-arm of some description, our recurve bows and swords, a few even brought their lances.

But until then we ride, hi-yah.

We caught sight of the bastard scrambling up a mountain face, they didn't even slow down, just kept moving at full speed further east.

I don't know what their plan is but they are heading in the direction of Camp Abaddon or Cadia, for that reason we are going to try and cut them off by heading ahead, maybe pick up their trail again. At leas they have to deal with the steep and treacherous mountain side while we will be rushing through mostly hill and lightly forested terrain.

If they plan an attack on one of our settlements I plan to have them ready for it and if I can Im going to chase them out of /tg/ before they can try even that.

Aurochs are scary as hell.
Massive and unfriendly creatures, with what seems like a natural dislike for humans. But a few of us, those with the patience or the stubborness to deal with them and befriend them, are able to train them to at least a level that they can be used as beasts of burden.

Even fewer are capable of breaking them to a point where they can ride them like cavalry, like the people of /tg/ are supposed to have managed with their own creatures. They are big enough to carry multiple people and serve like elephants with howdahs but really their great strength is the power and speed of their charge and the two massive horns that just straight forward out of its forehead like a triceratops would.

They are shock cavalry and they inspire awe like nothing else. But it wasn't awe on the faces of the heathens that assaulted one of the farming communities today, no, it was terror. The second the six aurochs crested the hills and bellowed a challenge their lines faultered faultered and when the Aurochs sped up and lowered their head to charge, they ran. But not fast enough, they were trampeled and impaled and scaterred so that our men could mop them up. Even the heavy infantry, in builder armor and heavy tower shieldscrumpled like tin cans.

No wonder Lady S'ndra has been bartering with the western tribes for more of them.

Confederate City-States of TeeGee

The Tower-
Lead by the Expat and James, represented at the Council by Jill

Butterroot Keep-
Lead by the Mayor, while the mayor is away the agriculture and scale wolf specialist Lucky (The one eyed rider) takes over. The Canoness and her paladin's preach the good word of Jesus to prevent cult worshipers.

Kog-
A massive builder city with many guilds each running independent areas. The newest guild is the Adventurer Guild, basically state approved murderhobo's. Kog is defended by the Rangers who are highly specialized. They also own several of the Gigant's and the Red Comet is stationed in the city.

Cadia-
A massive fortification city that protects CCSTG from the /b/arbarian hordes. Kog has left Bjorn the Fellhanded here for defense.

River City-
A port town. (Apparently they've got elves here. I'm still a bit confused on the inhabitants so I'll let someone else answer)

Smee's Shipyard-
A group of seaman building seafaring ships for trade and . . . . piracy. Argh!

Someone else can feel free to fill in any blanks I missed. Hadesopolis as well as the Buggers are in the same area as /tg/ but not formally a part of the CCS. I'll let /B/astard write up his different groups of /b/.
>>
>>28459048
Will do Expat

Bubonicus -
Remnant of the Nurgling Horde, lead by Lady S'ndra, covers much of the southern half of the /b/ territory. Feudal style government ruled by a theocracy.

New Sun Empire -
Tzeentch Horde lead by High Wizard Drake McDougal, theocratic dictatorship.

Western Tribes -
Semi-affiliated tribes in the western hills of /b/, mostly nomadic except for a few exceptions. No central leadership.

Bastion -
Sister city of Cadia, equally well fortified but in a less ideal position, once conquered by the Nurgling Horde it has been reclaimed by /tg/ and is now allied with them.

Great City of /b/ -
Massive city in the middle of /b/ that dwarfs even Kog, however it is a chaotic mess in both style and inhabitants and gang wars between warbands over streets and 'turf' rage daily.

Free Cities of /g/ -
Several independent cities, willing to trade for anything. Each city functions slightly differently.

Independent Warlords -
Several warbands have set up their own small territories around the other major powers.

Things just keep getting worse. Several fights broke out over shit not worth fighting about that has led to several injuries up to and including missing teeth. The endless rain and muck hasn't helped either. Sickness is starting to show as well. Nothing as dramatic as blackeye, more like the flu or a cold. Something they brought with them perhaps. We do have some antibiotics on hand and are using it as sparingly as we can. In light of all of this, I've picked out a group of 200 newbies to be sent to Kog and 100 to each citystate just to clear out the damn camp some. We'll replenish those numbers in days at the current rate. Camp2 has its first few buildings up. I'm sending out every able bodied person to help speed up the palisade wall and keep them busy. I'm going to open up the booze and sweets for all who work, but not enough to get them wrecked. Camp3 is waiting for the rains to stop so they can lay down the concrete foundations. Either way, it's kind of miserable. Everything is brown due to the mud. At least we have limited electricity. I keep finding myself wandering off from the noise to listen to my music collection. I'd have gone mad without it at this point. Maybe some music is what we need. I'll see if there are any aspiring bards in the unwashed masses and set them to work as the camp moral police.

A Builder dream. Why do I remember these so clearly? I was in Kog, but when they still lived there. A procession of robed ones carrying lances to a park, an area we're currently in use by the Science guild. There was an old one there in the brightest shining armor surrounded by many others. He stepped into a circle made by them and was stripped of his finery. One by one, young ones stepped forward to fight him, each cut down in a blue of action, one at a time until the old one fell. The victor was dressed in the old ones finery and led off by the robed ones. I think I understood what I was seeing but the question is why? Why am I seeing this? Either way, my mind kept going over their martial actions, the way they move, their stances, their swings. Impossible to duplicate by humans due to our physical differences but perhaps it can be countered. Either way, I was inspired and went out to practice for awhile. It had been too long. I was eventually joined by some of my Rangers and a few of Da Boyz. We practiced and dueled until we ached. When it comes down to it, our knowledge is very limited, combat wise. Everything we know was taught by people who half remembered some classes they took once or learned in the military years ago. We have experience, yes, and we're very good at what we do know, but I don't think we know enough. Not if builders are going to become an eventuality. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Anyways, camp antics continued as normal, at least the tidal wave of people slowed down, possibly because of the rain. Possibly because of the predators drawn out by the rain. Either way.

The festival to celebrate the birth of a new nation was surprisingly short. The new wave had already begun and many people were required elsewhere. The Apiary did manage to put on a very tasty spread of food from across Confederacy and some of the older hunters were happy to taste the dishes that could remind us of a home long lost. Our newest members, the hunters in training, were a little squeamish about eating some of the strange new foods, but they eventually broke down and tried them out.

We watched the Riders from Butterroot joust and display their proficiency riding the Wolves. It will be good when we can start competing at the same level as them. The Expat left with our other tamer to make a run to GMC. Apparently Jill had secured us a contract for shipments of ore and something called a Gnome in exchange for a massive quantity of the moths. Butterroot was planning to use them for lighting in some dark cavern or something. I have to admit, it was an amazing idea that we had not even thought about yet. With the rains currently falling, the system I had set up to power some of our lights using the flywheel mechanism from flashlights was currently powering some high efficiency lights in the keep. However, when the rain stops we may start using the moths as well.

Some of my Hunters ended up signing me up for an archery competition without my knowledge. I scored pretty well, but one of the Kog Rangers ended up taking the title from me in the last round. Those guys are truly amazing with how they’ve adapted to life on this planet. We will be stealing the archery competition idea and holding it among the Hunters to promote improvements.

About the time I returned to the camp with the Hunters we received an advanced notice from Camp Abaddon. They were going to send us an additional 100 of their fresh arrivals because they needed to get people out of the camp. We were still busy getting the roughly 70 arrivals that had followed our directions into the Tower up to speed. I hope the camp did its job and we are not having 100 worthless neckbeards dumped on us. I wonder if the camp preemptively treated the Black Eye with ichor or not. We will need a lot more Hunters to support and defend this kind of population.

Some of the newbies watched us practicing yesterday and wanted in on it. So why the hell not? We trimmed down some branches and armed them with their very own mock training swords and did some basics with them. It wore us all out by the end but they seemed to like it. The others that weren't off working at Camp2 or with the guild reps or building their shitty houses watched and commented from the sidelines. Again, we were sore by the end of the day and beyond soaking wet but so what? It felt good. I think I'm going to implement this training for all the newbies. It's a good workout and god knows some of them desperately need the exercise. I'm completely amazed every time a hamplanet wanders through the gates on his own. I'm thinking that once we have all the camps up and running, we use them to sort out the new arrivals. Porkbeasts go to one camp for a crash diet, survivalist nuts go to another to get ready for the Rangers or Arbites and then guild sorting. The injured go to another to recover and so on. By my calculations, we'll need maybe ten camps at the current wave size. Maybe more, and that's a conservative estimate based on the expanded camp size. By the end, we may be drowning in people. Who knows how many waves there are going to be, I may be an old man with waves continuing to arrive, and all of us left on the same day. That's so fucking strange and worse if relatives or friends are involved.

Kog Rangers are skirmish fighters. They pop up in the jungles and forests and hit you with bows, crossbows and guns and vanish leaving behind deadly traps and landmines in their wake for anyone who tries to follow. I think they're also the only city with formal sword training, which is based off of two handed German fencing.

The Troops of Bubonicus(off the top of my head)

Death Knights - Elite Shocktroops, builder armor, two handed curved swords and old world handguns.

Marauders - Very capable footsoldiers, reinforced leather armor, large shell shields, builder forced spears and short iron swords, defenders on the wall use the swords and a smaller metal shield

Grenadiers - Identical to Warriors but also armed with iron ball grenades with primitive fuses

Longshots - Capable ranged troops especially in massed formations, use powerful crossbows and are paired with a second man who carries extra ammo and a large shield, both wear light leather armor

Aurochs Cavalry - Devastating Heavy Cavalry, leather armor, iron sword and the aurochs's horns

Scouts - Simply trained and armed with shortbows and swords, capable but nowhere near a Rangers level

Acolytes - Not true combat troops and only really armed with curved iron knives, but fanatical and effective infiltrators, excellent at converting others and effective assasins

Still in the works -
Combat Engineers - Identical to the Warriors but only armed with the smaller shield and sword, intended to be very good at erecting defensive structures and siege weapons

Known bugger forces all go through some hellish trials and training in order to make all the different cults to work together they are very well trained and even decent amount of experience even among their basic troops. Their veterans are few in number thanks to heavy casualties even after joining the Buggers but those who do survive are all one and all something else. Finally elites are truly are commonly seen as demons/spirits with how effective they are.

Training wise all buggers enjoyed military, survival(typically do or die), and formal weapons/martial arts. Specialty training exists but you need to no longer be fit for battle in order to get some.

Bugger forces

basic: Typical bugger forces

Interloper- travel in squads enjoys an assortment of equipment stealthy and excellent teamwork/skill. Equipped with melee weapon, two guns usually a rifle and something else, few explosives, beacons, and light carapace armor with a range of other assorted stuff varying from member to member but always useful alone or especially with fellow squad equipment.

Guardsmen- Well trained and especially drilled. stuck in home turf usually these guys are tasked to protect Bugger holdings and those who buggers actually like. Equipment is lighter carapace armor rarely medium, shield, two melee weapon, explosives, horn and two guns.

Scavenger- Equipped in whatever they can get used to scavenge until they build up some. Notoriously sneaky and often venture for many things that buggers can never seem to have enough. Their equipment varies quite a bit usually whatever they can find/bargain for. Due to access of Bugger gear and trade these guys can be surprising well equipped even by bugger standards despite being considered basic.

Grunt- These guys are on the front lines well trained and ever eager for their duty they make up the bread and butter of bugger forces. Equipped with medium carapace, one melee weapon, explosives, and a gun of their choice.

>Jimmy? Jimmy is that you? What happened to you?!

>What, you mean the 40 years difference? Yeah I aged dad, now I am older than you. All because you wanted to show me that funny drawfag image you found on the internet. It’s great, when I first came here as an 11 year old boy I had no idea what a drawfag was, now I’ve fought in 3 wars, had ten kids through two wives. First wife died of a yowler attack… oh, yeah, there is a shit load of predators on this planet willing to eat you at any moment. Yeah, I’ve been dealing with that too.

>I guess you could say I might have more than a lil bit of daddy issues.

Continued

Scout- Trained to survey and move quickly/silently. Equiped in light carapace armor, single gun, melee weapon, writing stuff, and light general equipment.

Advanced: The veteran forces

Soldier- Well bloodied, very trained, drilled, and experienced. These guys can be found among bugger holding to far ranging bugger warbands. Equipment is medium carapace unless an officer in which case they get heavy, two guns of their choice, one two handed melee weapon or 1 handed with shield, explosives, and general equipment of their choice.

Rager- Much like the Soldier except prefering lighter armor they drink a hellish brew enhancing their rage so they can't take more abuse and are stronger. Not very drilled but very vicious and oh so eager. Used as shocktroops often enough.

Looter- When one is just so damn good at picking over things, taking shit(whether free or not) and finding stuff that others missed. Unlike the scavengers these guys know EXACTLY what to look for. Usually attached to warbands or ranging along with some scavengers in small groups. Equipment is like Scavenger.

Spreader- Equipped in the armored but lighter hazard suits. These guys are equiped with toxic melee weapon, gun, and finally a bunch of dirty(plagued or chemical) explosives.

Recon- Ever more advanced form of the scout much more experienced/trained except even harder to kill much less find. Commonly behind the lines causing havoc or noticing things scouts missed.

Elite: The best of the best which is saying something when it comes to buggers.

Knight- Said to be able to take on anyone in single combat and come out on top no matter what they are just that good often considered the best of best in official united bugger forces. Equipped in the heaviest and finest equipment buggers can offer.

Faceless- The boogieman in bugger forces. Honestly no one knows who they are or how they are even equipped. Only thing known is no they can get anywhere and kill anyone. Notorious for making examples of their targets no matter the precautions said targets take. They are the hidden blade.

Judge- The punishers of Bugger forces. No one is safe from their wrath no one. No matter how far you run or what you surround yourself with. They will hunt you down and make you face their justice. They are the sundering hammer.

Souped- Sometimes you get some sorry bastard who just can't take it and throw themselves at the tender mercies of this world. Most rarely they survive but those who do can no longer be entirely considered human as they cannot even remember who or what they were before.

Chosen- Every cult has their own flavor and each is said to be most worthy of the title.

Someone best be writing this
>>
>>28462448
Hah, I thought I did write it... Just a quick thing that popped in my mind when I read his post about the turmoil of the waves.
>>
>>28462218
The faceless and souped sound a little crazy just throw that out there like OP power crazy
>>
>>28462559
There are like barely any of them especially the souped. Faceless are just a bunch of boogiemen that Buggy used to fuck with the cults to keep them in line. Exacltly how hyped they are is unknown. Not much is know other then them being the fucking boogieman. Souped are the rarest thanks to what all has to be done for them. There are hardly any of them. They are only really used as bodyguards for the high ups and the rare mission/serving a rep.
>>
>>28462716
Power wise a single souped could might fight a knight to a draw in single combat and could possibly take on a couple chosen. Granted they would die in the process.

Faceless who the fuck knows. Tzeentch might know some things but only because they kept getting made their bitch by them.
>>
>>28462559
>no one knows how they are even equipped
but you write them, thus you should know
and this would be the place to share that information, out of character
>>
>>28462823
Equipment wise *ruffles through secret supply records that are going to be burned*

Are equipped in anything and everything they need no questions asked. Most prefer lighter equipment and disguise stuff. Thing is though it depends largely on their job in question. Suffice to say they get whatever they need even if it causes some pain to the Buggers.

Souped are given whatever they have the best finesse with.
>>
>>28462878
you effectively told me they get equipped with ninja stuff without telling me what sort of stuff they are equipped with, thanks for that
dont see a reason why they are so feared, do they get a lot of practice?
then against who?

all these guys just seem to have sprung up and are awesome just because and equipped with a fuck ton of weapons way more advanced then anyone else that I have no idea where they came from
and then you have all these elite troops for each type of guy, from scout to soldier

this just all sounds really OP
>>
>>28462878
Average equipment for faceless

master crafted Light carapace armor, old world crossbow, toxic grenades, master crafted melee weapon of choice, and poisons deluxe kit.

average equipment for souped

masterworked Heavy carapace armor, masterwork melee weapon, masterwork shield, and two firearms of choice.

the big advantage of the faceless is the mystery.
>>
>>28462990
okay, yeah those seem cool, although where are you getting toxic grenades? or better yet, what the hell is in them?
>>
>>28462973
The reason why their so feared as the Faceless they were the guys who dug out and took out even the hardest to find of troublemakers. According to rumor there isn't someone they can't kill or a place they can't get into.

Practice wise the faceless recruits are vanished and actually forced to survive the underground. After that they undergo the training required for it. Who they go up against is those who want to not die and those who want others to not die, also each other. Buggy was dickish enough to arrange competitions in which Faceless had to face each other and go through other elites even the souped. In fact to formally recognized one must get past souped and kill whoever it is they were protecting.

Souped are so feared as they can take on groups and fearsome enemies solo and win. Granted they do die the process a lot. So they are very rarely used. Practice wise they get pushed well and beyond what even the best of buggers undergo. They are also forced to fight each other. Few survive becoming a souped and fewer still learn the required lesson of just because you seem to be superhuman doesn't mean someone can't blow your fucking head off.

It has been many years, many times since we have perpared to commit the Ending Blow, to end of the deception. Even now, I'm scared, excited and in mourning. They've killed First Father, Second Father and First mother Guardian of the Nest and Forge.

They will pay. As we mourn we choose, the choosing a trial and rite in which I partake and decide. From it I emerge new First father. The honor is painful.

I've layed my strategy to my wing, we have decided we must understand the Other's and the Cur, and why they carry our sacred aspects. We travel to the Verge at sundown, to walk among the Other and to at least partly, to return to the Home Nests.

toxic aka dirty grenades come in two varieties. They are both based off the bomb fruit which provides the explosive compounds as a base and some of the shrapnel.

Chemical- which are made from a mixture of monster juices. chemicals and plant processes mixed together. There are a variety of them. They are the most commonly ones used thanks to them actually being able to quickly kill the target.

Faceless get access to the especially nasty and even silenced version known as Toxic. Which totally doesn't exist. At all. Nope.

Plague- are created in Plague Gardens. Basically they use a mixture of spores, rotten stuff, and fed vile bits to create these things. These are used if you don't want to kill your foe right away and want all their friends to die horribly as well.

There is rumored to exist a type known as Pandemic. It is said that is zombifies(supposedly they are rage type or fungi possibly kinda like the elves) the target, might be so lethal it kills them quickly or spreads so rapidly as to create a true pandemic. Exactly which of the three is unknown for all we know it could be all of them at once even.

.
>>
>>28463402
Its worth noting that there are some varities of each that are nigh untraceable so you might not even realize you are infected. Both of these types were slid in with the Toxic and Pandemic that don't actually exist.

Other noteworthy projects.

Hulk Out:
Which isn't going well. As we are trying to use a combine a selection of /v/, /b/, and /y/ goodness along with our own recent discoveries to create truly kick ass berserk brew. Instead we just ended up with people turning red, bashing their heads against a wall until they die, and biting their tongues off to drown in their own blood/vomit. We DID make some progress as it it may or may not force the user into a blood rage until death or indeed hulk them out like fit and new old world super drug. We found something that mimicked it here...kinda, unfortunately they both tend to happen at once...

Spewer: A project to create the flamethrower version of a chemical/plague sprayer. Not going well at all despite having flamethrowers from /k/ to use as a base. Somehow the tanks explode surprisnlgy often or the nozzles just let out a dribble or stream if your lucky.
>>
>>28463571
200lbs limit and you bring a flamethrower... you'll get a few seconds of fire then be out of compressed fuel to burn. If you had a flamethrower on hand to grab you must have had better options. That /k/ person has to be the dumbest of the group

The celebration was a brief affair but energetic and bubbling with excitement. People gathered from all around the Confederacy to display their achievements and to see those of others. Butterroot Keep made an especially good show with the giant Pumpkins and Watermelon spread out for display. The Zeer Pots we use for refrigeration we also part of our exhibit and I hope their use spreads to help other settlements with their food storage problems. Our flax-like cloth was a little underwhelming, especially in comparison to the fine silk clothing of the Tower. The Scale Wolves were also a big hit, we even started giving out rides like you would see at a country fair and some of the Outriders even insisted on doing some stunt riding, hanging off the side of the Wolf mid gallop or hand standing, seems they’ve been practicing.

They should of spent more time practicing for the Grand Tourney because as it turned out we had several participants from the different settlements. A Cadian Guardsman took the Title for the Melee Competition, and another took the standing Archery Challengeand Horse Archery was taken by one of our own Outriders of course. It was a grand spectacle all around, I especially think the jousting went down well, with our riders showing up in metal breastplates and leather armor, helmets and orange tabards. Even our lances had little orange banners with the Butterroot emblazoned on them, of course I took the chance to request a token from the Councilwoman Jill for luck, which may have served me well since I myself managed to claim the jousting Title, even if I honestly think it was only because the champion from the harvest festival was away with Beccas posse on patrol

All a great success in my eyes, I never imagined the Confederation had accomplished so much. Shipbuilding, electricity, armoured power suits and such ‘interesting’ food, we really need to send cooks from the Keep, I thought I was tripping at one point after I had that slice of cake.

Air Tank: using a native plant called airweed which is noted to produce an astounding amount of oxygen our researchers are attempting to create tank to hold fresh clean oxygen using it as a base. He kinda got tanks if you can consider air sacks tanks. Sadly they tend to be both a bit fragile and oxygen is no more then a half hour to an hours worth depending on how you breath.

Rock Hide Tanning/usage: A number of mountainous beasts that don't dwell in the fog have a very rocky hide. Which would make amazing armor...if we could make the damn things supple. Would ease our armor problems big time.

Cult Messaging: A nifty project when using a native clever bird specimen that perfectly mimics messages and can be taught to reveal them with a command word. Amazingly loyal and know where to go. They are also very very fast. Buggy has ordered work to develop a proper network in order to speed up communications and not to rely upon radio which may not be secure. Looks to a very promising project even though we are in the beginning of it.

There is a reason why we got it cheap. Still don't know whats with the obsession though. We got dirty explosives, toxic ammo, and poisoned blades you would think that would make them happy. Nope. They now want PURENESS. I swear if it wasn't for the vaccines they help provide I would have it shut down.

That night we left the nest of shaming. With its passing we shed the Incarnate aspect of Sudden Peace and Assumed the Silvered Strike, the aspect of our Wing once more. No longer Sundered Wing I sang to my kindred but The Silvered Wing and Copper Plumed we walked the woe Wood once more our voices high in the air and letting our foes know our coming. Though they are curs and cowards we are the People and bear honor like a shield. But first, to the Verge, for we must speak with the guiding Priest and Consult the Ancient ones Other though they be, they're men spoke of honor and of glories which we must bear witness to and weave songs for they cannot speak the true words.

/k/ is sortof kicking the shit out of things. There is some disagreements between the various groups in Mossingburg about who can claim "ownership" of the alchemist, but Derek is keeping the fires lit and providing everyone with their toys so they're content.

Mossingburg is supplying the war effort for the various legions forming up across the Empire. The 6 cohorts in /d/ have only been able to reach their location due to the Alchemist's ability to help production across the Empire and the Empire being able to send them supplies in the field.

I'll be finishing up with /d/ tomorrow morning and writing more about the infrastructure of the Empire from a different perspective. Traveler doesn't bother with that kind of details.

The patrol of the cultists was strong. Strange fools, they worshiped the sign of the bear.

Many people who came to this world were not adults. It seemed that despite trying to kick the underage people off, 4chan's /b/ had always been an attractive place for teens to check out. Some were boys, a surprising amount were girls. Many of them ended up in this place.

Since discovering a body in an old temple with the ID of Christoper Poole and looting the body of a dead builder priest, I had been pretending to be a moderator. The pulsing mote stone in my hammer gave me the power to back up that claim. My lie - that Moot was still alive, leading his moderators into a war with a continent filled with Reddit. All in hopes that fear of myself and my janitors would start to impose something like order here.

Now was not the time for barging straight in, however. The Hammer diverts bullets around me, but to my dismay, I learned that shooting the "ban" beam, though invariably lethal for the target, left my shield down for several long seconds. Moreover I had to preserve power - the stone couldn't have infinite power. I didn't want it to fail me when I needed it most, else I'd be just one more corpse littering the wasteland.

So I used the box to conjure up a blanket. I have learned the hard way the limitations of the box. It is not like the alchemist device in /k/. It is linked to the hammer, draws power from the hammer and can be used only by me. It doesn't require an existing example of something to make and in fact can't use one. Instead it reads my mind, creating from raw materials my IDEA of what the thing should be. I know how to make many electronic devices and cloth, but my attempts to use it to create many other things failed. The more intimate knowledge I had of things, the more things I could make.

But the hammer had only one purpose. To punish the wicked. The box simply would not make something if it wouldn't help that purpose in some way.

Went through recent messages. Our ploy to mess with /v/ is working wonders. Our buggers have got them organized into true SWARMS OF VERMIN. Their like a human version of locust swarm really. Our forces are diverting them eastward where there is space. Now if /b/ sends forces down and around they'll have to go through vermin swarms.

Best part is /v/ has the numbers alright it was just getting them from gangs and warbands to true swarms. Our buggers did good. I only wish they didn't train some of the higher ups and showed them access to daykare. Now they got some modicum of organization and training going on now.

/v/ city meanwhile is a holding pen for females /v/ captures. There they are well I will be blunt. Fuck slaves. Their not treated well but they are one the only reasons that the city is hanging on. If you want to fuck you have to make an offering. Meanwhile the city has turned out to be particially lit up. it is also where they are storing all the massive amounts of tech they bring in. Most of it is worthless but some genius got some power going on. Obviously being used for video games. There the virginators calls their domain. The entire city is littered with electronics and games all of built into a mountain.

I could not feed the starving or give shelter to the homeless. It would not allow it. But I could create acolytes - janitors - to control things and regulate things.

The voice shouted in my mind, empty of reason or foresight.

"JUDGE THEM NOW! PUNISH THE SINNERS!"

When it shouted at me, I had to resist the urge to immediately obey. It wanted to twist me - to change me. But this was my crusade. I looted that hammer because I wanted to use it for MY judgement - and I wouldn't let it tell me to charge in head first and get shot.

I threw the dark black blanket over me and timed the patrols, then slipped in.

It didn't take long. They were alert by the standards of this world, but they had become lax. People bought and sold slaves here; this place had become a trade hub and the people were well armed. Few would dare to attack it. I care not for their protections. Nothing will stop me from punishing the damned and sending them to their rightful reward.

I moved from building to building like a shadow - impressive for a man in a suit with gold thread and a golden mask. The camp was quiet, save for soft sobbing coming from some of the huts. I didn't bother stopping.

I came to the main hut, ostentatious by the standards of this savage world. Banners made from the skin of children depicted their mascot. Two guards were on duty outside it.

My fine control has improved significantly. I can now shoot a beam as thin and coherent as a laser, though the hammer wants me to swing it around like I'm at a rave leading the light show.

Internally, I cataloged their crimes, too vile to speak aloud. The hammer wouldn't work otherwise. Softly, I murmured, "You are banned," and fired.

They disappeared, the one beam taking out both of them and scattering their upper torsos like ash. It didn't completely dissolve them - the unfortunate side effect of using a tight beam - but they barely made a thud as their lower bodies dropped to the ground.
>>
>>28464094
I waited to see if I had been discovered. Silence.

I entered the hut and found the man who led the settlement, still in his bear costume. Still surrounded by children. I threw off the blanket, raised my foot, and stepped down between his legs. He woke up screaming. The children woke up only a moment later.

I spoke in a low growl to the anguished man. "Rule One: Nothing that violates United States Law. Judgement: YOU ARE BANNED!"

I brought the hammer down in a swift blow, unable to hold back. The red light burst forth as the hammer smashed his head in like a ripe melon, turning his body and the floor below him to ash all at once.

The children ran, and screamed, and cried. Good. The confusion would help. If the guards killed one, that would be a reason to ban them.

One dead, an entire camp of guards to go. By morning only the children would remain, left to fend for themselves, save one I would make into a Janitor. Perhaps they would all be captured again by other sinners.

So be it. My bloody work has no end. They too will be judged.

Now for the bad news...when Teddy went out apparently something happened that made him snap. Dude has established a city of blood and bone a little ways out from /b/ area and near the forest. There he established a city...one built around a giant arena where he dug out a moat and used the ground removed from it for fortifications. Meanwhile the moat was then filled with blood. Piles of skulls meanwhile are rampant. As they serve as the marker of his forces. Whenever they crush a /b/ force they take their skulls and form pyramid/piles of them as totem/testament. It is said that so much blood spills that a river of blood flows from that arena to the moat. That isn't actually true its more like streams. Personally it looks as if a lake of blood is being constructed around that arena. The smell is apparently awful.

Wish I knew what happened that caused the amazingly honorable and surprisingly kind/gentlemanly Teddy of khorne to go so mad with rage. Apparently many khornates are rushing to his banner and others of course.

...can't complain too much though. He is serving as an excellent barrier and he ships down regular shipments of salvaged goods and even recruits who are made up of the best or skilled(who are escorted there) to undergo the trials to join the buggers. Just our luck our food supplies are iffy as is.

I led them, my people number a scant six fulls(sixes) Towards where I had last met the Others that lived upon the Verge. Their camp, ramshackle made of the Plant's bones. we passed through and followed their trail back. Back towards the out nests, the border upon which my people claimed the world. Jill had made us leave the contents of our saddlebags with her at the Apiary. We were scheduled to deliver the first shipment of 100lbs of glow moths within two weeks. It took a week alone to get to the cavern from the Apiary. There would be no time to slip up and lose focus in the caves. I had to collect all of the moths and ride for Butterroot to make the short deadline.

I was in the middle of picking moths, somewhere around pound 40, or maybe 60, when I began to hear whispers around me. Turning around caused me to lose concentration and I recognized the fatigue from spending a long time doing nothing. As I finished packing up the third saddlebag of moths I began to hear the voices again. A series of soft melodic words drifted around the massive main hall. I couldn’t make out any of the words, but they were all extremely beautiful to listen to. I nearly got caught quietly enjoying the melody and had to plug my ears and run out of the cavern.

As I reached the surface the voices had grown in strength. I could distinctly hear the melody now, but the Scale Wolf Tamer who had attended the mote with me could hear nothing. Maybe. . . oh god I just realized, she isn’t a Hunter. She took the ichor cure. Maybe you lose hearing as well as seeing things in vivid coloring.

Listening closer it sounds like the Big Glow stick is talking again. I can’t make out the words, but for some reason I can pick up feelings from the melody. Sad and mournful, yet filled with honor. Something else had happened. Some idiot had attacked them, or they had decided we would be a fun sport to hunt. Either way I knew I had to head towards them to stop it. The Glow Moth weren’t going anywhere and the Tamer could ride to Butterroot and deliver news as wells as the 60 pounds I already collected.

I pulled the spear out of my shoulder sling to mount my wolf and the voices erupted through my mind. I guess I know how I was able to hear them.

After going through the reports I went through our records. We have been recieving odd shipments from /k/. Not sure what they are...yet more concerning is our lack of food production. A lot of monsters are really fucking fast and thus if you don't kill them in the first shot they'll be eaten by the time you get to them or they try to kill you. We do fish granted but there are things in the lakes...so that leaves farming and domestication. Luckily we did find a few critters that seem to have potential so I will focus on the farming problem.

So I decided to look through the farm reports...

Coffee coffee fucking EVERYWHERE. Good lord were swimming in the stuff. Shit we got tons of coffee the fact that this area around Fortress Keeper is perfect for it everywhere else it falls flat though. Even BEFORE the effects of earth fauna here as led to us having more coffee beans then we know what to do with...whoever brought coffee seeds is a genius. Sadly we need something more then just that.

Hm...we seemed to have some luck with berries, peaches, apples, and even pears. Good to know...how about veggies though and native plants. Some much crap to sift through...

From looking at the reports comparing the environment these mountains resemble the Rockies of North America but foggy and misty in many areas. Makes things tricky. That will provide us a good base for figuring out what could grow here. Luckily we got a variety of types of ground. Question is just claiming it. I mean we do have greenhouses problem is their quite limited.

Upon the Verge, he heard our pleas for attendance and answered. Astride the warhound it came. In forebearance we knealt our swords offered and words spoken in the old tongue. We knew that though Other he was a priest, touched in the ways First Father had been when he had carried the light of First Father Highest Wing on high. We explain that we have once more Taken Mantle of the wing and Long War, that we walk again among those that live.

We ask now for guidance I sing the retelling of the Peace brought to First Mother and Father, of the cur which I let live and now, in atonement must seek out and deliver agrievement to.My blade offered I ask of the nature of blessings of a sharp blade and sure kill and ask if Other Priest will abide us and deliver us to the field of battle. We Are silvered strike, the Westernmost tribe of the Empire of Iron Feather. It is under their Wing we were founded metal brought from metal and returned in kind. We now ask the Other's to mantle The Empire of Iron once more and join us in hunting traitor filth that blemishes their new song.

These are not easy things, I am not First Father by choice, amongst us I won by virtue of age and might and luck. I tremble as I await the verdict. My kindred Six Fulls each bedecked in armor by my side, though there are more they stayed behind attending to rites of honor at the Nest. We shall not Stay there though in the Woe Wood, and will seek out a new nest soon, in that we are sure. Too many nights spent contemplating the sudden peace to remember Long War there.

What was I thinking, I rushed here and now I am before a host of Builders. They continue to speak their different language as well as the bio illumination second language, but I can’t make sense of any of it. They initially greeted me with reverence, bowing and presenting their swords, but now they are talking again and I have no idea what they are saying.

Maybe the bow was more than a greeting, they did offer their swords out towards me, and they lingered for a little too long for it to just be a simple hello. Maybe they’re seeking a blessing from a priest. While I’m not sure what kind of priest they think I am. I wish they’d have brought one of the human elves with to translate. Maybe them not having the elf means this is something urgent or personal.

I ended up dismounting and using my staff reach up and tap them on what I thought was a shoulder. If I explain to them this is a proper blessing from my people maybe they’ll stand back up. I really wish I could understand them, this is like being in a foreign country on Earth all over again and I’m not sure if charades translates very well with them. Even without knowing their motivation I remounted and noticeably settled into my saddle as if to signify I was ready to follow. I just hope they don’t go back into the Nightmare forest.

At least their kinda like the rockies anyway. Bah I wish this place was easier to deal with. Either way we found mulch works wonders for the plants here. Helps deal with a lot of problems thank god we got some people who gardened before. Shit we even got an organic farmer...and for some reason Buggy had some stuff listed down about organic farming. These guy knows the weirdest/randomness I swear. Granted he didn't know nearly as much as the actual organic farmer but he knew a bit.

AHAAHAH FINALLY got the official growth reports. Bingo. Apparently potatoes, turnips, cabbages, onions, garlic all grows well. Now what else works in these damn mountains...parsley, carrots, and even celery. Leaf lettuce, spinach, turnips, and radishes. Thistles, dandelions, lambs-quarter, according to on odd farmer who grew odder stuff for consumption. Not that i am going to complain we need everything we can get mainstream or not. We also got broccoli, sweet peas, squash, artichoke, chives, rhubarb, strawberries, spearmint, and beets. Got some tomatoes, green peas, cherries, grapes, peaches, and even pumpkin apparently.

Ah well things are like this around the deeper bugger turf it will be good to see what grows to the west and along the edges. I shall try to look into that.

We believe the other has offered his blessing..its hard to tell as he does not use the method of the Wing, no blood rite was giving perhaps for reasons unknown.

I gesture to my gathered kindred and together we move as one, letting the Rider upon Warhound to follow. We know the ways, the maps upon the Nest walls guide us now and we enter into the Home nests once more. We seek the City of Iron first. The Grand Wings keep, From there we shall gather together the host perhaps and set forth. The cur thinks us daft but he does not realize he cannot hide. We will hunt him down his sight and sound are known. His low speech marks him apart from others as it's raving and foolish. We shall move towards Where Golden feather Second Grand wing resided upon the River spear of Chothok And from there we will find the Others of the second sort who speak the Lowe speak. But first, To Iron. To Gather for coming War.

I recognized almost immediately the direction the wing had taken flight towards. They were heading towards the mining city of Kog. For what reason I do not know, but I couldn’t let them walk into the city without a translator. It would cause a massive incident as the city would try and fight off the foreign invaders. If they fought with the builders it would bring the military might of all of the builders still in Nightmare Forest on the Confederacy. We were still training our new arrivals and it would be a bloodbath if they attacked us now.

I swiftly turned my wolf around and yelled out at the biggest Glow Stick. I tried explaining to him that we should head to River City first and pick up the elves that can translate. In the end charades works better than speaking slowly in a language he couldn’t understand. Simply pointing my spear and facing my mount towards River City got the point across. However, this builder being a foreign mind I’m not sure if it was willing to heed my suggestion.

As the priest of Other Commands, I must follow. I explain that though I am First Father he is godkin and thus strongest of all. We shall follow the Other though he speaks not the Song nor low speech. We shall trust that he knows what we do not. Has the Wing of Iron fallen?

I have been here for 3 years now. I can't believe I'm doing this right now. Why am I even packing my stuff ? I live one of the safest lives in TeeGee, I helped create the Kog Brewery, I'm a respected brewer now. So why should even be compromising all of this ?

Well, because I'm bored. And resentful. The guild is fucking rife with political infighting and I don't want to be stabbed in my sleep. If we are to live on this doomed planet for longer, I want to do it as a rich and powerful fucker, and if I'm to die, I just want it to be exciting.

So there was a plan. I mean, sure it was a fucking stupid plan we imagined out of drunkenness and fleshed out in a hangover, but that was it. A party of 10, including me, mostly hunters and fighters, a blacksmith and a brewer. All of us into /b/ territory, gathering an army of scum trough charisma, arms and booze to seize power everywhere we could.

Yeah, this sounds dangerous, stupid and you could think it's straight from a RPG. But that's /tg/ for you.

I can see the hesitation in them. They actually expected to find additional warriors in Kog. While riding I sketched an image of humans walking into an Empty Kog. I also sketched a second image of a lot of Humans standing around holding rifles in the same location at Kog that I had drawn in the first picture. Hopefully they would remember the gun from our last meeting and realize I was trying to draw a human army that was now in Kog.

Once we get the elves things will be easier.

(I'm out for the night. If you want to keep writing I'll pick up tomorrow.)

he scribbles in the dirt...it is strange but I believe the message he tells me is that the Others have Taken the City of Iron. It is good for them, I hope it was a glorious battle. We move now, resting little and even then in the trees staring at the Host of the Highest wing, we joke and try to name our ancestors in the sky amongst them. There is Khussssstanahn He who fought for seventy years and was only brought low by a child. It was a favorite story among my wing when I was young. Now it bears a taste of bitterness and regret.

Strange it is, that I am now the First Father, worrisome as well for I'm away from the majority of my wing, it is yet second rain though and thus my position will remain uncontested for now and Second dryness. First Rain will bring strife though as we young warrior kin seek to hold this spear.

As the two of us crashed together once more my triarii grew impatient and began to shot at the futanari demon every time we separated and prepared to clash once more. His attention faltered long enough for me to step over and draw his sword from the ground, keeping it low in my left arm. I threw a feint with my right which he flinched at, giving me the opening I desired to jump up and plunge the sword down into his cockpit with my left hand.

A horrid whale rose up from the dead machine as it lost its balance and fell over. Bloodlust from the adrenaline of battle pushed me beyond reason and I sunk the sword into the Gigant to further mutilate the pilot and pin the demon to the ground. We had taken the Namefag’s palace in their own demented city. The Deviants lay crippled and broken on a massive 2 kilometer squared altar.

The men split up again into small groups to loot and purge the city with cleansing fire. We would rebuild the town, after all most of it was stone. But we had to remove the taint that a group of unchecked deviants who were removed from the sanity of a daily life had created. The deviants that could manage to avoid the purge were to be spread across the Empire. Any additional wavers were to be round up and spread out. We would not allow them to congregate and descend into the madness that this city had become. They would be known as Libertus, or Liberta for the few women. They would be freed of their baser instincts and thus allowed to live a normal life like they had on Earth. However, if they threatened to descend into depravity once more it was the right of all citizens to first remind them of what they were doing, if that did not work the citizens would have the right to purge the Libertus from the collective whole.

So, I'm filing this to Central supply and saying that we need better fucking cook as my rations were tainted I think. I was doing a regular sweep as usual during the newby wave and ended up a little off course and somewhere out in that fucking forest. So, yeah, tainted rations can we not get Kognessi cooks please?

The legion would be stopping in /d/. The Hexumviri convened following the war to discuss the state of our First legion and initial crusade. We decided on naming the new city Alteria because we had no desire to ask what its initial name was. Our Empire now stretched out across over a thousand kilometers of new territory. From Alteria all the way to the plains of Travel. From the south with the prospering mines of GIF to the northern craggy coasts of Otaku. Alteria would require a lot of rebuilding and repopulation. We informed the men shortly after they were finished burning the city that we would be offering them the chance to settle this land and stop fighting. Many were hesitant to live in a place where we had seen so much corruption, but once we began rebuilding the nearby harbor and the roads in-between we were able to have additional creature comforts shipped in.

Settlers and new arrivals from across the Empire arrived with supplies. Back home they had been spreading the population from each board out across all territory to prevent any niche groups from arising and to provide diversity between the population. They had done a lot of work to industrialize and create a productive supply chain for those of us in the field. I had never been any good at focusing on that kind of stuff so it was best that I was leading from the field rather than trying to rebuild civilization back home.

Hah, I came to this world sleeping in trees, and now I am resting in trees with tall glowy alien warriors. I’ve come full circle!

They spend the evenings looking at the stars and telling stories. Apparently they’re similar to our more primitive cultures who thought the stars were gods, or holes in the blanket of the Aether. I don’t judge them or blame them of their ignorance, after all their tech level looks to be about even with our age of steel, but they’ve been seeded with alien war machine tech that halted their growth and made them reliant on the alien seeding them with further information and technology. Most likely the gods they worship, and the spear I hold is directly related to these alien directors.

I’m sure the crazy haired fool on the History Channel would love to hear how aliens directed every technological advancement of this world. Hell, if he learned the truth it might straighten him up. I’m sure deep down inside he thinks what he is saying is bullshit, but he is doing it for the ratings.

It was a new experience watching how the ancient builders spent their time. They took a moment of reverence towards the sun as it rose in the morning and it reminded me of all the various religions and cultures of Earth who once paid homage to the sun god. We once built massive temples and structures to follow the seasonal changes of our sun as we orbited our own massive star. While our culture and languages may be drastically different, and our thought patterns were alien to one another, we still had similarities. The universe is a beautiful place and no matter where your location amongst the cosmos, everyone can appreciate beauty.

I spent a short while in the morning hunting for my wolf. He was growing leaner from all the travelling and I was worried about him. When we managed to track down a few ferbies my fear that he was growing weaker was thrown away as he struck out and killed one with claws and caught a second in his mouth. Cute guy actually brought the one in his mouth back and placed it at my feet. I still had food in the saddle bags, but his actions actually made me chuckle.

We made the journey to River City in good time. When we got within range of the city a group of Rangers met us away from the town. They were more than curious about the 7 creatures that were leading the way. After explaining to them that they were the ancient builders that once lived on this planet they were even more confused. It looks like the Council had successfully kept our first contact hush hush and most people did not know that we were not alone.

I was able to explain to them the little bit of information that I had garnered from riding with the Wing. They were searching for something that caused them to leave the forest. Something major that made them gear for war and seek out the city of Kog because they thought there were still builders there. I had redirected them to River City because I heard there were elves here that could translate for them. We needed to understand what they wanted so we could help keep this from exploding into a bigger problem.

Seventh Wave is here, and everyone is feeling it. The city is packed with refugees that either find their way to Kog, or are escorted here by either the Rangers or some other groups. No one group stay for long, with Camp Abbadon open for business and all, but still the strain on the city is causing tensions to flare. Just two days ago, a few of my recruits were caught in a brawl between some 7th wavers and some 6th wave militia assholes. No idea who started it, but I got my people out of the mess and called the Arbites on them. I then made it that no one was to leave the Mansion unarmed, and you had to travel in a group of a least three. I’m setting up guards for the Mansion too, with Sixth House strongmen walking the streets and causing trouble, I don’t want to take any chances.

Training had come along well. We are definitely not short on manpower, though I’ve had to do some ‘weeding’. Some of the 7th wavers that come by still have their ‘puppy-dog’ fat on them, and others are barely out of their teens. Hell most of the people I have are barely older over 25 and most are in there late-teens. Fortunately though, most of these people are mid-wavers, and know how things role on Lenore. Those that don’t…well that’s why we are doing this training.
Did those interview like I said, and I got a bit lucky. A few of the recruits are former larpers, and we even got ourselves a bona-fied crossbow-wizard on our hands. Goes by the name Stiles, the dude LOVES the damn things, and could tell you everything you need to know when it comes to crossbows. Jesus, he won’t shut-up about them. Anyway, I put him and a few more level headed larpers in charge of training, and we have been together have been working on how the frak were going to organize this shindig.

The newbies sent from Camp Abaddon were pathetic. They complained about the rain, the food, the houses, the work, the lack of video games or people willing to spend hours playing Magic. Only a handful of them were half competent with the skills Abaddon had taught them, but they made up for the masses of neckbeards because they got the chance to be the teachers and show their intelligence. The stragglers who had come wandering into the Tower all listened to these guys, who in turn turned to the older members of the Tower to gain further information on survival.

It feels a bit like the blind leading the deaf and mute, but they’re starting to settle in a little better. One of the stragglers has an amazing way with words and the new arrivals have given him the title of the “Story-teller”. Every evening he stands in front of the hearth in the Great Hall and tells stories to anyone willing to listen. His stories started as old games he once DM’d, but after hearing stories from some of my Hunters or the repeated tales of the Expat at the walls of Cadia his tales have begun to change to tales of this world and its dangers and adventures. It is helping our newest members learn about what is beyond the walls and I have to admit I have spent a few late nights listening to him spin tales of things I have grown accustomed to. He really puts them into a new light.

>>
Honestly is the coast at this point didnt have a few raider settlements I'd be shocked.
>>
With Confederation Day over it was time to head back to the Keep and get back to work.

We picked up a few people out from the different settlements intrested in moving to the Keep, to get away from the Sixth House, whatever that is. We were also asked to take about 100 new wavers with us to help lighten the load off of the newbie camps, I didn't really see the problem, they could just brought into the Keep short-term and then later decide if they wanted to stay or to head north with some of our more experienced people to settle permanently

They aren't exactly what I would call the best and brightest that humanity had to offer but most of them look like they are in a lot better shape than I was before I reached any form of settlement. I don't see any problems with integrating them into our society, we have enough work to go around for people to get involved and, although we don't have an entertainment guild like Kog, our own people still host sports, games and put on shows to pass the time. So long as none of them pull something, like that idiot from before, then it should just be a matter of time before they see Butterroot Keep as home like the rest of us.

We have to get there first and with all these tag alongs with us we are moving even slower than we did when we came this way with fully loaded carts. It was a little like herding cats, trying to march a hundred people throught the jungle to a schedule of any sort. At the very least the Outriders are able to keep an eye on our perimeters and serve as look outs. That is when they don't have new wavers fawning over the Scale Wolves.

I guess since they haven't encountered wild ones yet they just see them as strange looking horses, cute even, I have mixed feelings about that it could lead to underestimating them in the wild but at the same time it could mean new recruits for the Outriders, who don't have to overcome any initial fear.

We have been underground for circa four days now.

The river headed in a straight direction for about ten kilometers before beginning to curve in what we calculate to be a south westerly direction. We belivie ourselves to be passing directly under the heart of the Nightmare forest at the moment.

The tunnel itself is in remarkable condition, no signs of cave ins and no roots or plant life growing down into the tunnel at most there is some mildew and scum grows along the walls.

Yesterday we reached a large round domed chamber, with a central pool of water and ringed with dock like outcroppings, even including iron posts to tie the boats too. We believe this to be the halfway point and a rest stop, and chose to camp the night there. The exit on the other side of the chamber leads down another slipway, this time with a set of stairs next to it. The water filters around it s sides through stone and iron grills. This chamber also seems to function as a barrier between this part of the river and the next because from what we have seen that part of the underground river is less clear and even has fish and plant life growing in it.

We set off again in an hour, down this half of the river, and I pray something interesting happens because I am sick of hearing Hughs damn 'war' stories about his local Games Worshop and the people he played with there.

It was slow going getting back to Camp Abaddon. I ended up dragged into several diplomatic meetings along the way - people from the council in Kog wanting to know about the Builders. What precisely did they expect to hear that they couldn't get out of the video? I don't know. Some took issue with my hostile posture and stance, worried that I would provoke war. Of course, taking that stance is perhaps the exact reason why we DIDN'T go to war, and I explained as much.

Those guys are like Klingons or Space Marines. They'll respect you if you have strength, and since we're squatters on their ancestral lands, we're not exactly in a good starting position.

Anyway, the camp itself seemed to be a mess, which is the normal state of affairs for a refugee camp. Most people underestimate the chaos of a place like this, and it wasn't as though we were a trained team skilled in managing refugees.

The military fellow I'd left in charge had done a credible job in keeping things together during the beginning, which is usually the most turbulent time. He even managed to get electricity up - something we still didn't quite have at the Keep.

Still, hearing about the incident of the kid with the .22 was disturbing enough, the cultist infiltrators were worse. That sort of thing should be filtered out BEFORE people get to the camp.

I checked the serial numbers and... no one had been using them. Of course. I hadn't really set up the screening process before I left. So what I was left with now was a gigantic mess of people with firearms, some of which could be cultists.

My wife had been training up new paladins here, holding sermons. She'd been keeping watch. It's pretty easy to tell cultists from actual newbies.

The newbies look like drowned fat rats, the cultists have the hardness of survivors in their eyes and much more lean muscle.

I sent out a request for more guards to come from the various cities. With the farmers we could finally establish some farms. It wouldn't be easy to farm here or terribly productive, but that wasn't the point. The point was to turn useless sacks of shit into productive workers in the cities.

So I'm going through and setting up a screening process to figure out effective skills, health, and possessions. I am also making damn sure everyone is disarmed until they leave. Firearms are locked up and stored by number. They can get them back on the way out, or if they're going into guard training.

We don't have time to go over all the skills we need, so the basics are woodwork and carpentry, hunting, farming, soldiery, fishing and construction. We're also teaching them to make stone tools. Everyone needs to mark off basic proficiency in three before we'll let them go; the particularly skilled with be absorbed as teachers.

Part of the purpose of this is to teach them useful skills before they reach the cities so they can help farm and build, but the other half of it is teaching US how to teach the next wave. The next wave won't be absorbed into the cities. A few vital skills will be; the rest will be given skills and tools and sent off to found new villages and cities. We need to get the bugs out of the system before we try that.

These people are very different. They're first worlders that still have fresh memories of the old world. I used to be like that. I listened to someone play a song that was brand new when I left on a stereo they'd brought. The new guys thought it was a treat, but I had to leave and get some privacy before I started to cry. It was an utterly stupid song, but hearing it for the first time in two and a half years brought to mind just how much of the old world we've left behind.

Fuck those fucking aliens for robbing us of our world. Our friends, family, and everything mankind had built. Fuck them all.

I miss Earth. I miss my crappy little flat above the Burrito place at the end of my street in shit part of Boston. I miss my extensive OVA anime collection and my Yuugi Hoshiguma body pillow. I miss my saved up vacation time and the three week vacation to Japan I had been planning for five years. I had a life back on Earth, it wasn’t a whole lot, but it was totally and completely mine.

Now here I stand on a new world and as a new man. No longer am I the heavily overweight neckbeard with an obsession for Touhou and a lousy job managing assholes at a call centre, instead I am a heavy set but in shape warrior, clad in armour and a veteran of many battles under the Legions banner, lucky to have been recruited in the wave directly after /jp/s conquest. I am proud what I have helped accomplish and of the accolades I have one my self. Heck I even have a fiancee of all things waiting for me back in Squat. I even took on a new name to represent my new life and all it means to me.

But for all that I miss the simple pleasure of relaxing after a hard day of work by crawling into my actual bed, instead of a padded roll and a blanket, and watching the latest anime or practising my Japanese. But most of all I miss my waifu Yuugi-chan.

We have passed by Camp Abaddon, Battleborn and Hadesopolis, each time an outrider breaking off and heading towards them to deliver a warning of a potentially hostile elven presence in the area, while we continued on at full speed.

We think we have them again, my Scale Wolf, Regal, has caught their scent and it seems to be fresh enough to follow.

We should have the advantage now, they must think they have lost us over the mountains and they would of if we had broken off to warn someplace or not had our mounts to track them.

We string our bows and check our arrows tonight, we will break at the crack of dawn and catch them by suprise.

We won't attack them first, but we can confront them and question them on what they are doint in /tg/ lands and the rest of my posse can get into ambush positions just in case.

We may have made one of the most important discoveries we have since first arriving in this new world. A newbie with pot.

Well, that's not unusual. But a newbie experienced in growing pot, who brought seeds? That's a different matter entirely. In all honesty he probably wasn't the first, but he's the first that we've retrieved. This alone makes setting up this refugee camp worth it, even if you factor in nothing else.

People try to hide it because it's "illegal", but that's moronic. It's an anesthetic, which we direly need, and it can be used to produce hemp, which we ALSO direly need. Considering how big earth plants get here, I'm a little bit alarmed at the prospect. But I'll be damned if anyone outlaws that in this world.

I'd tried it in the old world and didn't care for it very much, but the aches and pains I'd gained from two years of hard labor and battle made me sorely want some. Well, give it a year or two and we could produce a vast quantity of medicine and hemp.

I'm sending him up to the keep to minimize the chances of him dying from a yowler attack or by the chaos in Kog. They're good people, but the political infighting there makes me a bit worried about sending someone that valuable to that location. After he's trained other people he can go wherever he wants, of course. But I want him back home where we can use it to kickstart several industries before sending the goods out. Besides, it's drier and just generally safer there. Plus the Dutch accent he has is rather charming.

He also brought magic mushrooms, but I really have no idea what use they'll have for us here. A ton of stuff is hallucinogenic, and I don't know that we can process it into anything. Ah well.

Checking the papers seems like bugger forces are largely spreading quite a bit. I thought we had a good flow of recruits before now thanks to northern bugger operations we are getting an influx. I am beyond thankful were getting the farms figured out. Some bugger forces have check out the place surrounding the Yard...turns out the waterways the yikings use is underground. Around it are a bunch of mines and large refinery the place hauled ores/metals down to the coastline where it could be shipped out. We didn't discovery any smithies and the mines seem to vary quite a bit in what they produce. Our boys got lucky and found them when it was windy. The fog was down a bit so a lot of that stuff was revealed.

Finally some buggers who struck out west discovered some interesting defense installations and alarm deals. As in we found watch towers scatttered around all having these odd things nearby. We had found those towers before its just we never realized what they were for until we had claimed a few and lit them up. Turns out they all got beacons with strange powders that change the color. We are guessing they had different meanings. Even better near the corridor to /tg/ we found a fortressesses scattered around deeper in ther mountains. You can't find them outside the mountains and even inside their clevely hidden. thing is they are positioned in such a manner that you can easily strike out at the corridor. Our forces found 5 two of which overlooked a pass into the mountains that was split in half in the begining but ended up joining further in. There at that cross we found the remains of a city that before it is a vale. One of three in the mountains. Two of which are small the other one is massive from the center of which rises the largest mountain in this range known as Misty Peak. we missed it due to the waterfalls obscuring it and making the approaches to it slippery. Apparently it was meant to guard one of the entrances to the vale it seems.

We've been staying in the rocky areas where the scale Wolfs can't get close enough to us to attack us. I believe they may still be after us if they are led by the lucky but we have slowed down enough to give our beasts some resting time. we can see a city infront of us, we are going to ignore it and keep heading to our destination which is the camp of the cultists one of the elves have made a flag showing that we are in Allies of them and we shall be in the territory soon.

I haven’t really had a good time to discuss this but I figure I should put it somewhere and this is as good a place as any.

Butterroot Keep has a surprising diversity in regards to fashion. Most people from outside of the Keep and our area think of us only as those guys in the orange coats but that’s really just what our men and women wear abroad, a sort of ‘brand recognition’ thing that the Mayor has been pushing since the start. But in reality we enjoy a wide range of colours, not simply the multiple shades of orange that have made us famous.

Regular clothing usually consists of loose baggy pants tied with a sash belt or a skirts of some description, usually worn with silk stockings that have been traded from the Tower.
Tops are a simple affair and are either a collarless shirt or a long tunic.
Over all this a coat (pic related), poncho or a light cloak is typically worn.

All of this has begun to appear in various shades of different colours with the trade with Kog, River City and the Tower for different dyes. Most people own at least one nice piece of clothing with patterns or symbols stitched in, some even add their own flair to their clothing, and no two outfits looks exactly alike.

An exception to all this are the military forces of the Keep. Da Boyz dress uniformly in a shirt, pair of pants, a leather coat (pic related) and leather armour, all dyed the bright orange of the original Butterroot Keep dye. The Outriders dress mostly the same but wear completely off-white shirt and pants, with a black sash under the orange leather coat, the lancers additionally wear a breastplate over the coat. Experimentation was done with a tabard of sorts but it was considered too cumbersome and uncomfortable.

We have some outliers, such as the 'Telvaani' style robes from the Tower(favoured for their silk material) and some of the Toga like robes from the east, but most wear clothing made here in the Keep rather than anything else.

Its not only clothing though, people here have learned to accessorize of all things.

Hats in particular are very popular and vary quite a lot. The flat brimmed, Sombrero Cordobes, is usually worn by people working in the sun a lot, the farmers and the miners more than anyone else. Silk bandannas, often brightly patterned, are also a common sight, especially on those with longer hair. We also have some people wearing Stetsons like myself, Pakols and even one guy in a large straw sombrero.

As per the usual exception all Da Boys wear leather cap helmets, slowly being replaced by Kettle Helms and the Outriders wear a black Caubeen with an orange plume

Shoes are either leather mokassins or boots, though some have been experimenting with Japanese style straw sandals as house shoes.

Leather and/or Iron jewlery is also spreading, of good workmanship if a little basic in style, either taking form as a bracelets, clasps, buckles or torques. Sashes are the most common form of belt and like the bandannas can be very simple or heavily detailed with designs, but unlike the bandannas are more likely to be made of the local cloth.

One particular accessory is worn by almost every man and woman of Butterroot and that is the Sling, worn as either a headband, a belt or a bracelet, this is a very real sling capable of being used as a weapon and most people spend some of their time practicing with it, especially ever since the elven incident.

Some buggers have left the mountains and claimed the hills of northern /tg/. Most are just a bunch of small villages and towns. Our forces came down with a fury wiping out raiders. As much as the Kog bastards like claiming to deal well in with raiders they leave much to be desired. They only really bother with forces around their areas. Leaving everyone else out in the rain. In any case our forces merely claimed a few of the ruins mostly a few keeps, some towers, and even a fort or two that we took/found. I am not sure how the hell they plan to man it but Buggy wanted the smaller settlements protected and to help prevent bullying from the larger ones. In that regard our presence has done wonders...except for the Cults which took it as a sign started to act up big time.

Until we had some Chosen come around and gave the warnings cults practically dried up over night...as in they either left or clumped themselves around Bugger turf. Problem is they haven't gone through the rites and fighting between them is constant. This conflict is straining even our guardsmen we even had to deploy forces that were meant to strike deep in order to keep the peace. Hopefully a couple of judges who are coming down will take care of it. I must admit I sorta pity those poor bastards Judges are by far some of the most twisted and unstoppable members of the Buggers. Which is saying something all things considered.

Meanwhile forces have been diverted to do some advanced surveying of the edge. We did a light one over but clearly had missed a whole lot more then expected damn this fog and twisty mountains. Further reports indicate...a murder happened. What the hell that is practically unheard of among the buggers. A fucking traitor stole some stuff from storage and a guard must of noticed. Bastard killed him and made a run for it. Only a single squad are being deployed and even a Judge is after him. Bastard waited until he was out of the mountains before striking. Clever.
>>
Well a lot of Northern /tg/ was clear for the most part. Especially around Kog and Cadia. Except cult wise the discrimination forced them to play smart or get out. Only raider presence was some real light stuff around Camp Abaddon which was well in hand. Along the mountains edge to east but not super close to Cadia we encountered a few raiders that was cleared. Now we are dealing with the cults and setting up a few bases. Not many though can't agonize the cult haters. Luckily we found some interesting secret dwellings of the cultists those who stuck around got clever. Turns out they know some interesting things. Oh god yet more things to catalog. I feel sorry for those overworked bastards in charge of that sort of thing.

Still though chasing this traitorious bastard is satisfying work. It took a few weeks we have chased him all the way to Kog. We were right about to nail the son of bitch when stumbled upon those damned rangers begging for help. That bastard claimed we were a bunch of raiders asshole and then went on about us being cultists...okay I will admit that one being true. So we got stuck having to shake lose those damned rangers in their own fucking turf of all things. Good lord it would of been SO much easier to kill the sons of bitches but we needed to avoid causing to much of an incident. We did manage to lose them but may or may not have killed one and wounded a few others. Oops.

While we were about to get into Kog is when the Judge caught up with us. Holy hell is that bastard fast. Luckily we were not far behind the traitor so we advanced. That was when the Judge took over. Who ordered the more agile of us who did especially well in parkour and climbing to take to the rooftops. There they were given crossbows. We were to run silently for this operation. The rest of us meanwhile was to go civilian and considering he had stolen tech was most likely going to the Science guild. So to scare him we had some guys who he saw the face of which to follow him.

The New Sun Empire marches towards the wall.

The wall is almost entirely complete escept for a short stretch between Fort Malaria and my own Fort Pox. Over 500km of wall finished and less than 20km leaves a fatal gap in its defense and the wall wont be ready in time to face them. None of the fortresses to our north were completed in time for this early attack but luckily for us they are simply by passing them all, only sweeping over those that are directly in their way.

So the host of Nurgle digs in behind that gap, erf who had worked on the walls construction and new recruits have been roped into digging trenches, setting wooden spikes to halt enemey charges and positioning the new ballistae at strategic point.

Along the wall each of the five Fortresses, Typhus, Pox, Malaria, Klebsiel, Dengue, all mobilize their forces and the numerous towers in between do the same. Men stand ready all along the wall, preparing for the first true test of the walls might.

We are confident but wary, the New Sun Empire is well organized and uses many of the old tactics that we did, but they have improved on others. They field more skirmishers than us, armed with atlatl and throwing darts, as well as some cavalry of their own, not aurochs but chariots, pulled by hambeasts of all creatures. Not ideal weapons against a wall to be sure, but if they can exploit the gap then they wont need to be.

If we can halt them here, then we can push back with a retaliatory strike and drive them into their original territory, between the Great City and the east coast, leaving everything south of them and the City ripe for conquest.

About a week ago Miss Arbite finally got her promotion; We celebrated at the recently rebuilt Argonian Maid. They still haven’t figured out how to get that burnt wood smell out of the place, but beyond that it was a pleasant evening. Guess it was our own little Confed Day, seeing as neither one of us can exactly make the trip down to Apiary. At least not at the moment. We both have our responsibilities that we cannot ignore. Wait, someone is yelling down stairs. Gotta go see what’s going on and settle it too, if it needs to be.

Well shite, we had a break-in. Some 7th waver managed to get past the guards outside, and down into the cellar, before one of the ‘staffers’ found him. Then it turned into a hostage situation as the dumbfuck ended up having a AR-15, and said that if anyone came down he would ‘blow their heads off’. So after some fancy negotiations and threats of fire, the dude finally came out. Turns out the rifle was empty, and that he had used most of his ammo just to survive out there, or at least that’s what he said. He also said that the reason he broke in was to get some food. Was just gonna hand him over to the Arbites when I found something in his gear. A military ID, Army, with this guy’s face on it. So now I have him locked up in one of the spare rooms. I’m not sure what I’m doing, but I guy with actually military training might be a boon. On the other hand, this might just blow up in my face. I’m gonna sleep on it and hopefully I’ll have an answer in the morning.

We had the bastard panicking and he went to the Arbites. Turned out they are quite good. Apparently these guys are good at dealing with cultists so that certainly caused us some problems. As we actually sorta lost the son of a bitch. Sadly for them they didn't realize the Judge was one of ours thinking he was from some other group like the paladins. Those poor fools missed by far our most vile fellow.

Somehow the traitor was with us long enough to realize what a Judge was. He was right about to enter the science guild when the Judge and promptly panicked. Our guys followed him and trapped him in a alley. I was meanwhile watching all this from the rooftops. He was about to scream for help when he got nailed, dragged up to the rooftops. There we found a good little nook for our work.

That was when we discovered he was some guy from Kog who was after our tech. Checking out what he was carrying we realized he had a good deal of our tech...but not all. So we found out where he handed it off to. We got the missing tech had to do some nasty, I was one of them. Apparently though considering what the judge did to the guy I was quite lucky. Has she had brought out the kit of punishment. Hit him with a dose so he couldn't struggle/scream and one that would keep him awake for the punishment. After that he was flayed alive, dick was cut off and placed in his mouth, teeth were all pulled out, eyes plucked out and replaced with his testes ect. Poor bastard was even wiped down with Flamgar eggs that would sting like salt on his wounds/on fire and if anyone tried to help them would make the helper feel as if their flesh was burning off. The stuff was smeared all over his body and forcefully slid into his wounds when he was stabbed in order to make him feel like being cooked alive. All of this was done within the time frame and he was strung up as example. By the time the silencing drugs wore and he began screaming our forces were long gone.

It took forever to get back to the Keep but now Im back and it was straight to work.
Settling of the ruins didnt wait, and was started immediately on my return, with forty of the Camp Abaddon newbies, including the weed grower, twenty of our own and about a hundred or so from our own citizens heading north. But even with this loss of population I think we are going to end up with more than we started by the time this wave is over, the Outriders bring new people in from the forest and mountain patrols. They are simply being put to work

They should of allready arrived by now and, under the protection of a detachment of Da Boyz, they will be refurbishing the barracks for suitable living quarters and beginning the first farm fields and new houses in side of its walls. They've brought the seeds needed to plant Hemp, Corn, Carrots and Butterroot and have enough resources to build the initial homes they will need.

The place even has a name allready, Resevoire Outpost. It will still be a part of Butteroot but in the future, with luck, it will serve as a trade hub to the west and a training ground for Da Boyz and the Outriders.

Oh, almost forgot, we confirmed that boulder to be a definite Gnome. We are excavating it properlly and sending word to the Tower, I'd love to keep it here to help with the Outpost or upscale the mining operation but we made a deal and they need it more anyways.

But rather than just send it their way Im having a few of the boys and girls make me some flower wreaths and drapping them all over it before we send it off, maybe those and the words 'present for Jill' across its head will serve as a payback for the damn blossoms in my pockets.

We finally had enough hands to constantly work our various industries that everyone had been setting up over the past season.

Our lumber mill was working and with the fresh iron from Butterroot we had a proper blade in the mill. Several people had volunteered for logging duty and were actively clearing the trees from the mill back towards the tower. There were also fresh recruits with no skills working alongside our tamer and two of the Wolves to pull the carts of lumber from the mill. Other unskilled laborers were pulling man powered carts of branches and tree limbs to our pits to create charcoal for the kiln and Robber T.

Robber T was training nearly 20 apprentices on how to work the forge. They now had proper supplies of iron and he could allow some leeway for mistakes. Still, they were fashioning simple things like nails and braces for the houses. All of his apprentices at least showed prior knowledge of working metal or an extreme interest in learning. I left the selection up to him as he would have to deal with training them. He turned away nearly twice as many enthusiasts, but the few he had kept were able to keep up with some of the metal workers from Earth. It should be surprising to see what kind of things they can pull from the forge in the coming months.

Our kiln has been working non-stop as well. Clay pottery is being produced in record numbers. Nearly all of the newbies who did not fit into more specialized labor could play with mud and water to create a pot. Again I allowed the kiln workers to select 10 apprentices before the remainder of the unskilled labor went elsewhere for job assignments.

Our seamstresses and leatherworkers all returned to their favored job from the ones they had been working before the arrivals. They initially refused to train any new apprentices. They complained that unskilled hands would reduce the quality of the products they were producing and diminish their reputation across the Confederacy. I wish Jill was still here to slap some sense into them. They ended up taking on two girls who had worked in the fashion industry, one male leatherworker, and another male tailor. They have a rather large order in for clothing all of the new arrivals. I am eager to see how they handle it.

Phil and his new green thumb received over 50 recruits to work and expand the farm fields. We had acquired a ton of new seeds from the arrivals and we would be seeing how well the Earth plants adapt to the environment. Apparently someone at Camp Abaddon had brought hemp seeds and each party of arrivals was sent to their destination with some to help start growing it. “Medicinal” use is going to be highly regulated, but allowed. We don’t want people growing their own crops and starting a black market, but we also don’t want productivity to drop because everyone is high.
>>
>>28483102
Abaddon also helped separate out skilled laborers into each group. Our arrivals came with a doctor and nurse combo. The doctor is female and the nurse is a male. We’ve already had a few comical mix ups from people mistaking the two of them. Thankfully they both have thick enough skin to deal with the neckbeards comments.

The other fun “package deal” we received was an architect. From just a short conversation with him I could tell he knew what he was doing. I’ve put him in charge of designing our buildings. The first thing he mentioned upon seeing our premade longhouses was that they were a waste of lumber. Apparently, he is able to design us proper housing for a fraction of the lumber cost and it should look better as well. No more will we be forced to live in shabby long houses and builder ruins. We should be building our own structures.

They made sure to leave a message saying what he did and on why to not to fuck with the Buggers. Basically the usual message when we make the rare example.

We don't make examples very often most of the time we forgive the first offense(thing is things may contain more then just 1). Typical Bugger punishment depending is being press ganged, executed, and being made a test subject.

The...warriors? They where no metal openly, but I believe them to be of this wing's Kindred. I see them and sing to them letting the priest show us openly. They are Other but as with Iron they bested and won this Nest. I explain that I wish to show them gratitude for their strength and that are looking for they who talk the low speech. I draw on the ground like the priest trying to show them what I mean, signing to them their strange shape with no second arms and mouths meant for speaking.

My cohorts are anxious I hear them in the background. They are younger than me, brash and playful I chuckle as I hear one ask if he can spar with the Other Warrior host. Not for blood, not for metal, but for fun. The priest must decide of course, we are guests in their lands that they have earned right too. This is a hard thing to phrase but I try, for my hosts sake. And to help ease our nerves and release the urge to let blood of the cur. Should he die a noble death I shall weep. I wish to rip him limb from limb and cast him like Highest Wing Dark Harbinger from the tower for what he's done and leave him Bloodied and broken for all to see. There will be no Sudden Peace, painless night. I shall mantle the Screaming death for him.

((sorry alterinity game and then passed the hell out.))

Fashion in kognusuan revolves strongly around not getting wet, and leather lots and lots of leather. This is largely due that until recently there wasn't really any source of material to tailor besides goddamned leather. As such human ingenuity being what it is leather goods are probably one Kogs biggest exports alongside Iron for smithing and worked metal goods.

The vest and trousers(or skirt or kilt) is the basic level of attire in the city, from these cloaks, shawls and ponchos are adding to help keep dry and often are dyed various colors based on personal preference. Guilders typically will where colors to match the guild they work for on some part of their clothes but it's not mandated. The exception being the Rangers/scouts who uniformly where varying degrees of armor and the Red Cloak a symbol for their forces as much as their sword. The cloaks are each loving made by Craftsmen selected from the Guilds and worked over several times to ensure they are properly fitted.

Due to the ever present wetness, Sandals have been a popular item for footwear though some people do wear boots as you travel north to the mine. Again often leather in the greco-roman style that are laced up onto the ankle. These are not the most comfortable but, they do the job. Ornamentation varies from small worked metal pieces to various kill trophies for some of the more bloodied minding. In particular the teeth of yowlers and bones of rapedactyl are prized for jewelry. During the founding of the Salt camp and Smee's shipyard the First ocean heart smail necklaces were also brought back and have started to pop up in Cadia especially.

Not everyone is a fan of my management, it seems.

I received a package from River City today, from one of the new arrivals that had ended up there as a leatherworker. We never actually met that I can recall, but his memories of me don't seem to be that fond, if the package is any indication.

It is a rather... prominent leather codpiece coated in the glow in the dark silk from Kog. Amanda burst into giggles the second she saw it and wouldn't let me leave our little apartment in the camp until we both tried it on. I started to get worried she was getting a tad too attached to it.

What a fucking world we live in. At least we both had a laugh trying to imagine me wearing this thing to a diplomatic meeting. Hi builders! Check out my glowing codpiece!

Well, I'm guessing it was sent as some sort of insult, but I'll be damned if this isn't going on a shelf back home. It's actually really well made, so I'm guessing this person wasn't new to leatherworking when they came to this world.

The camp is running about as well as any refugee camp can, which is to say it's a hellish chaotic clusterfuck with no escape. Had another flu outbreak, managed to quarantine the sick people in their own camp.

We're also starting to demolish and rebuild some of the shittier buildings the newbies put up. It doesn't actually matter if they get it right this time. Having them build the buildings serves three purposes. One, it trains them to build buildings. Two, it keeps them busy so they aren't idle, which is a recipe for disaster. Third, it gives them something they can feel accomplished about. In the old world, many of us worked in call centers or in service jobs where you don't make anything and don't really have anything to point to as a tangible benefit of your efforts. Building a house shows that you can build something, even if it's not that great. Something that worked all too well with that leatherworker, obviously.

What a gift.

I suppose with the new arrivals it is about time to review the state of clothing here at the Tower. While in the past we only had a few members of our merry band and could outfit them each with full leather armor as well as simpler leather goods for working the farms, now with nearly 200 additional people at the tower we have turned to churning out simple goods to cloth the masses.

The majority of the citizens that live and work around the relative safety of the tower wear various flaxen or silk clothing. A few of the newest arrivals still wear their original Earth clothing until we can catch up. We really need the Earth fabrics, but it is better to let them keep the clothes rather than have them walk around naked. The oldest members of the Tower all wear their silk Telvanni robes to show off what the newbies can expect as soon as we catch up with demand. I think Kathelyn may limit production of those though, she really has the snobby fashionista attitude down. We have built several waterproof fur umbrellas for people to walk between buildings in relative dryness. While they look ugly it is a welcome relief to walk outside during the rain and not walk into the next building soaked.

My Hunters all wear various light versions of leather armor. Each Hunter personalizes their armor and has it commissioned for the leather workers. The only unified part of the wardrobe is we all wear the Furby fur overcoats. The Wolf Riders, which I am proud to say we now have 4 of after 2 newbies showed signs of horsemanship and tested having a ride. Well the Riders all wear heavy leather dyed purple. Again they commission the leather to fit them snugly and they can pick how much embellishment they want on the armor.

The truly oddest person from the Tower is the Expat. After taking down a Yowler in the swamps down south he had the skins used to make another set of armor. Dyed with one of our dyes from the Creeping Roses he looks like one of those LARP’ers from back home. It is proper Medieval leather armor with sword, fur cloak, and wizard staff in his hands. I do not know why I am still friends with this lunatic.

((I'm pissed at myself. James doesn't use contractions in his writing and I slipped up and posted the ones last night full of them. I need to stop writing while tired.))

(Also, finding proper images of armor that isn't boob plate, demon lord, or emo is hard! Of all the pictures I found those were the two "tamest" that could reasonably be created in our environment. Ignore the chainmail in the second one though. Apparently I can't have my cake and eat it too.))

It seems the large chamber wasn't simply a half way point, there is another reason it was built directly here and that has to do with the large stone door that Thaldor found.

We managed to pry it open and inside is a second tunnel, unlike the river tunnel this one has plain rock walls rather than properlly constructed walls and is overgrown by large tree roots. Travel down this side tunnel is impossible at the moment, although Thaldor managed to slip in further than most and came back with an armful of rocks containing some sort of ore. We closed the doors and marked it out with charcoal and packed some of the rocks into each of the boats. We will get someone to check it out when we are back at the Keep.

Right now though we are shipping off down the slipway.

It has either been thre or four days since we left the chamber that we finally saw natural daylight. And after just about a week spent completely undergound with only glow worms for light, direct sunlight was almost blinding. It was alos nice to get a literal breath of fresh air, the tunnels seem to have somesort of ventilation system but it still tastes stale, dank and earthy down there.

We came out under a set of crumbling stone ruins, it looks like it was an outpost similiar to the the one back in our territory but it looks like it was utterly destroyed. The walls that once ringed it has been leveled and the only other signs of past structures are broken squares of rubble that circle the tunnel exit.

We have decided to set camp here and rest until the next day, while two of our guards, Pete and Rod, go out scouting with Thaldor to get a lay of the surrounding land.

We have been led to a reception hall, and have had guards posted around it. In the time passing we have amused ourselves, the kindred now wrestle on the floor trying to best each other and show off even with none of the Mother's around. Meanwhile I have been talking with the Low speaker they have given us, he says he's to translate our songs for the Other that live here as they cannot speak the low tongue or sing as we do. This is fine, our matters are simple all the same.
>>

It was entertaining watching the other Builders wrestle and play while we waited. I had taken to communicating with the leader through simple sketches to show things, then using the English word for them so he could hear what we called them. After a while he started to understand my purpose and repeated the exercise using his own spoken language.

I will admit that neither of us will ever be able to replicate the others speech, but at least we are starting to recognize simple words. The hardest thing for me is that I know he is also speaking in a second language by using the glowing mushrooms. I have no way of learning that language without also letting the nightmare fungus take root in my brain. That's something I plan to avoid at all costs.

After a short wait, and a few more lessons on words associated with war, one of the River City elves came to be our translator. I explained to the elf that we needed someone to communicate with the Builders that Kog was held by humans much like River City. The Builders that were standing here in River City are the only known group of Builders we have encountered, the rest are dead or gone. We also needed to understand why these Builders had left their home geared for war and what they sought.

I will not forsake the truth. At these words we mourned as few of our people have. We are a scant few compared to the glory of Empires old. Our songs were tainted with the sadness that our people had found peace in such an shameful way. But, we continued now with purpose. We must rebuild the nests perhaps not here among these stalwart Other warrior wings but still it must be done.

I speak the low tongue and scratch in the dirt what has happened how, a 'gun' a sound like choking in the throat to speak and belies such a dangerous thing was used to kill First Father and Mother, how they have left us bereft of guidance and have stolen a sacred relic. These...Unhonorable Other, these curs are the purpose for Living again, for why we had come here hoping to find the People among the land still. But such is the way it seems. my wings shake in mourning and I find myself crying at the sound of peace brough upon my kin from days gone by.

With the aid of the translator from River City I was able to learn that one of the human elf's had murdered several important builders with Guns and weapons from our world. They had fled in the night and the Builder and his 6 guardians were in pursuit of these Unhonorable Others.

My decision to turn them towards River City and find a translator had been a massive error. The fugitives had fled north and I had driven them south away from justice. After hearing the full extent of their reason for entering our lands and leaving the forest I was as determined as they were to catch up with the Unhonorable ones and help them achieve their idea of justice.

I had an idea of which elf might have been so pathetic and low as to pull an assassination attempt with guns from Earth, and with them fleeing North I knew just who to go talk with. I pulled the elf up onto Frost, my wolf, and followed the Builders back out of the city. The cities were in too much turmoil now with the new arrivals to field the armies they requested, but with the aid of Butterroot I'm sure we could track these bastards down.

Oh, side note... I named my wolf Frost after trading with one of the new arrivals who was looking for civilization outside of River City. For some reason he had brought a bottle of bleach with him. I'm sure the Tower could use it since I had yet to see bleach brought to the new world, but I ended up using some of it to bleach out the feathers on my wolf's head. He doesn't like it at all, but it's funny.

A continuation on the side note about the Scale Wolves. As we've witnessed already they become docile when in the presence of Butterroot oil. However, should one decide they want to tame the wolves without the oil it requires a lot more work.

The Wolves are all highly intelligent and I think they have a relatively simple amount of sentience. To break one of the wolves in you have to show dominance over them. Being pack animals you need to assume the roll of alpha to them and keep them in their place. Should you falter or show a moment of weakness they will attempt to overthrow you as dominant one.

In my first weeks riding I had several moments where Frost would test me and my alertness. Snipping, pouncing, and stalking me as I walked around our camp at night on the way to first contact. Every time I would have to smack him into place again. Having a sturdy Builder spear helped with the reach and to keep me away from his mouth. The Yowler hide bracers helped to protect my arms from his claws every time he struck out and I had to defend.

He still watches me constantly, but I think I've defeated him enough times that he knows what my response would be if he just simply lashed out again. Part of the reason I bleached the feathers on his head was to re-show dominance. The other part of course, was because it is funny.

The apology was heartfelt, and understandable. Our quarry may escape but, the priest had done what he had thought right, there was nothing wrong with this. Now, we head north laden with anticipation. Long have we sat idly by and practiced the art of living while dead now we must move forth and strike at the heart of this cur and his men. He cannot escape us. Where these others see little we see everything. We are the children of First Father Highest wing, master of sky and hunt. None escape our wrath.

Trade has been picking up ever since Confederation Day and to be quite honest, our old canoes and river rafts just aren't cutting it any more, they aren't fast enough or they lack the ability to carry a decent load. Thats why I decided to search out Stanley and give him a special job, he's to head to the coast, and find the Shipyard that is supposed to have been built. We don't need ships, at least not the sea going kind, but we do need the expertise that they have to design us a better river going vessel and to construct a workable prototype. So we stuck Stanley in a canoe with a pair of hunters and sent him on his way.

On a nother note priority has been put on ramping up the work at Resevoir Outpost, the Mayor sent this guy with knowledge on growing hemp and whole bunch of seeds for canabis plants and wants them planted and growing as soon as possible. From the way he spoke about it, hemp is a miracle plant with so many uses it makes all our other crops seem useless. Thats why I ended up having to let Paul go, he's a smart man and a hard worker, so im sad to see him go but he knows farming, has managed our work teams before and knows the soil around here and there really isn't a better person to be put in charge of the projecting.

Luckily the keep has plenty of farms right now to sustain us, come harvest season we will move on to extending both, the plots of land for them have already been marked by posts and the crops chosen. The same goes for the housing, the clay and mud brick houses are turning out to be pretty comfortable, especially with the inclusion of wooden doors and proper shutters which a pair of new waver carpentry students have been going around and installing.

I was worried about this wave before but now all I can do is wonder what they will suprise me with next. Until then, Im going to go read the Abnett novel I borrowed off of one of the newbies and try not to cry while I do so.

There are two things that the Outriders of Butterroot Keep pride themselves on, the first is their bond with their Scale Wolves, the skill of the rider is complimented by the intsinct of the mount and together they are a formidable team. The second is their skill with a bow, especially on wolfback, the practice of the Outriders prepares them to easily hit a mansized target, whether at a trot or a full gallop

We have been having troubles lately though, the bows we were using were a mix of composite wooden bows and compound bows from Earth, which have been kept in good condition and some have even experimented with replicating. The compound bows are not a problem, allthough some are a little bulky for horseback use, but the composite bows do not work well in the local conditions. The wet environment means that the bows wear out faster, and the glue holding them together sometimes gives out entirely in rain and always when dropped in water.

Luckily one of our bowyers, Sally, has been working on a new design. It is flat self-bow shaped into a reflex style, which she says is easier than trying to make a recurve bow, like our old ones, out of a single piece of wood. It will require more practice to get the strength to properlly string and draw and will still need the same amount of time to construct, but the Outriders seemed pleased by the trials with the first examples.

Im just happy they have bows that don't fall apart for half of the year, I doubt any of our enemies would be willing to wait for the dry season.

I've been hauled into some sort of refugee camp. Jesus christ this is insane...anyways, they're letting me keep a journal apparently for therapy and also just because it's a thing for some people. Anyways, apparently the scary looking dudes in cloaks and leather armor are/were neckbeards like me. They woke up like my sorry ass did in the middle of the wilderness and then were left to fend for themselves...apparently that was three years ago. I'm shaking a little they've been doing this shit for three goddamned years??How is that possible, I mean really I don't get it. It it it can't be right. Camp Abbaddon: where newbies go to fail. This is my home for the foreseeable future. And fuck my life if this place doesn't suck on a level of its own. I spent most of yesterday digging drainage ditches to make sure the constant fucking rains didnt make it so we were stuck in knee deep mud. Have you ever tried to dig out a fucking ditch in the rain? It's not fun, my blisters have blisters right now and the fucking guards kept goading us all the fucking time.

I get told to suck it up once more I'm gonna punch one of the bastards I swear to whatever fucking deity will listen. That said I spent the day before that in interviews with guilds? Like telling them what I've done, what my hobbies were, what games I played completely random shit that I couldn't follow but, they gave me a slab of cornbread instead of that moss bread shit that's bright fucking purple so that' a plus. Tomorrow from what I hear I get a crash course in what an imp is.
>>
>>28494645
Well Blisters still suck, most of them have popped at least. Either way Imps apparently are like monkeys, if monkeys were made of nightmares and wanted to eat your face while throwing shit at you (some things are universal it fucking seems). With that in mind of course there are worse things, I've been doing a little meet and greet with specimens of them. I already have a deep and abiding loathing for this planet and I've yet to set foot outside this fucking camp.

On the other hand our drainage ditches are holding through we are now spending hours cracking rocks up for gravel.Fucking joyous.

Im just one person but I'm happy I made the decision to come. I don't have any particular skills that makes me valuable but I was responsible for finding a couple dwarves and even a piece of a car chair, that got shipped straight to Kog. These finds left me with a respectable reward that set me up pretty well for a simple labourer, I even managed to rise to a local rep. for the guild.

But then I heard about Camp Abaddon and I knew I couldnt stay here. Im sick of the guild politics and I want to do something to help these people. So I bartered and traded everything I owned back at River City for fresh blankets, dried fruit, salted meat and even some watermelon candy from Butterroot. Some of my assistants and staff have even decided to join me and I didn't have the heart to refuse their help.

Now we are here, handing out blankets and food to these new wavers, trying to let them know that we care and wish to help. At the very least we hope to stop them from becoming another sixth house.

So it seems our camp Administrator and King of the Butterpeoples didn't abandon the camp after all and did make his return. He's been a great help getting things sorted and even implemented that refugee numbering system I completely forgot about. I can't exactly say things are running smoothly, as this is a refugee camp after all, but there hasn't been any fistfights lately so that's a huge plus. A few neckbeards cornered me and asked me my story, so I told them. Cutting back the wilds and building civilization from abandoned ruins makes quite a tale. Current and future waves have it easy. I wish I had a camp Abaddon waiting for me when I arrived. Instead, well, shit happened and I'm not the man I used to be. I wonder how easily I could have become an insane cultist. No matter. Anyways, our store room is overflowing with crap salvaged from the newbies. Central Supply is sending out a big shipment soon, but some of it just isn't worth taking according to them. Like this 72 inch plasma TV. Why did someone bring this? It's so big that they probably couldn't carry anything else! Can it even be used for anything else? I don't even know. Maybe I should do a case study on people who brought stupid shit and see if there's some connection with idiot cultists.

This wave seems to have a surprising amount of people with crafting skills. Maybe there's a theme to these waves we're not seeing other than Sixth house being all assholes. Either way, we're going to have to properly divide the skills and where they end up. The first batches I sent out had the bare minimum training but we needed the space. Things are a bit better now. Camp2 is up and running and Camp3 is on schedule, even with the rains. The arrivals have drastically slowed down, finally, either because this is it or more likely, they're bogged down in the rains. It's also possible Hadesopolis has been redirecting them to their holdings. Either way, we're up around twenty thousand people by my last count. It's noisy and messy but as long as the supply caravans keep coming, we'll survive. The guilds have begun separating them into teams based on skill sets. We've got a nice batch of potential Ranger recruits. I'll have them start immediately on wood sword swinging basics and archery before they're divided amongst the citystates. I bet they'll love getting some people with a touch of formal training right off the bat.

so, to save paper I've decided to write every three days, well that and the fact it hurts like hell. My skin is peeling, They did finally give us gloves though. I'd say this was a good thing until they explained they were for Latrine duty. I guess it's fair as most of us have been in and out of their like we've been eating Cheap mexican food. Apparently this is part of the 'process'. So, to recap, waking up in an alien world, being kidnapped and thrown into a fucking refugee camp by guys who look like they came off a Lord of the Rings set, now what ever is in the food is making us shit our brains out and we get to dig a new shit pit.

Camp Abbaddon everyone, so help me if the rest of this fucking world if like this I'll figure out how to build a nuke out of spite. But apparently we're not staying much longer, there's talk about our 'hut' getting shipped to Cadia.

Excerpt from a speech to a group of Seven Wavers:

Hello to you fortunate survivors in this new world. As you may have noticed, this place is not Earth. We have had the unfortunate... privilege of being shanghaied to this death world. Though we left at the same time, we have not arrived at the same time. The first of us came here three years ago. I am the Mayor of Butterroot Keep, you may call me Omegon. That is, of course, not my real name. But you'll soon find that much of the old world is unimportant here.

You are fortunate. Of the previous waves, most new arrivals are dead. Either from cultists, raiders, war, starvation, or disease. You will find that some, should you be unfortunate enough to visit the Nightmare Forest, would likely be better off dead. You, however, will not suffer from these issues. You have arrived in the Confederated City-States of /tg/ - a land with a stable government; perhaps the only one in the world. If you work, you will not starve. You will not die from the Black Eye fungal infection that claimed so many in the early waves. You will be taught how to survive in this world - how to farm, build, hunt, and defend yourself.

This world is harsh, and the things you are used to back home are gone. However, you have it better here than anyone anywhere else. Even now, the people of /b/ have resorted to total chaos and cannibalism.

In the coming days as you work and are forced to change from neckbeards to hardened survivors, you will hate me and curse me. That is fine. We were all once like you. I still am. I love 40k and D&D and Magic the Gathering, and still play them when I have the chance. But now I can say with pride that I have helped to defeat an invasion, that I've met and spoken with aliens, and I can point to houses built with my own hands.

Look to any guard in this camp or citizen of the city-states here and they can say the same. They can proudly say, "I have been sent to hell, but I am ALIVE." Soon, so will you.

We aren't the only ones! They're are others who care enough to drop their own lives and have come to help. They bring supplies or skills, each wanting to stop the new-wavers from suffering the same hell we did when we first showed up.

The Volunteer Corps, as my assitant Julie has insisted on calling us, has now set up on the shore of the lake near Camp Abaddon. We decided against setting up in the camp proper, as space is at a premium, and instead have fashioned our River Barges into houseboats, really they're just big floating hovels, but they serve well enough.

Those with skills such as the nurses and the counselors head into the camp each day to help, they are joined by others handing out supplies, even those with no skills and no supplies to offer help out with constructing the new secondary camps. For some reason they have been drawn around my original group and now look at me as a leader and now its my job to keep this effort organized.

I probablly shouldn't tell them that the only job I ever managed to hold down on earth was as a fry-cook at McDonalds.

Our forces have largely found a few locations to hide out. Watching over the nearby villages/towns near the mountains. Except for the plateau Butterroot Keep is on our guys would just LOVE to find a place where we could more easily watch them but were not having much luck. We did manage to find some places closer Cadia and Kog though. Nifty place to one is in a nearby mountain out kinda close yet not from Cadia.

The other one near Kog was completely overgrown no one knew it was there it was kinda in this cranny that was completely grown over you would literally walk across it without without even realizing it was there. Only reason we knew it was there was some cultists showed our guys. Fuck this jungle I swear. Its nice place actually the apparently the cultists used it as a meeting point but didn't chose to stay less it blow their cover. So our guys have claimed it especially considering its surprisingly cool. Thing is though the Judge decided to set up shop here. I feel sorry for the poor bastards who are going to be stationed here to keep an eye on Kog. Its never fun a good thing to be stationed with one of those self righteous assholes.

Meanwhile the nearby cults alerted us of some foul going on with Camp Abaddon something to do with executing cultists in cold blood. Worst yet they made it slow and without even making them an example. Fucking bullshit level waste right there not buggers go that low. When the Judge heard she ordered for us to set up camp near there to keep an eye on things. Fuck that bitch does she know how nasty this terrain is? I mean we may be really good but these chucklefucks got homeground advantage and we have yet to adjust to the terrain here. Last time not so long ago that didn't end well.

Luckily for me an Alix we both got sent of the butter plateau to help scout some things. Apparently some local cultists might know something interesting.

When we got to the plateau(fuck scalewolves) we ran into the cultists. These guys I HAD thought were rare. Nope they just found these little entrances that they would overgrown and underneath they worked. These fuckers got an entire warren down there I swear. They even carry around these scent blinders and have these caverns near what they claim is the lake and water ways. There they fish and they also farm fungi. Pretty nice place I asked about what it was they wanted to show us. They showed us along the plateau where cleverly hidden walkways lurked and here is the kicker. Out near some nearby 'mountains'(they don't got shit compared to what we deal with back home) there was these hills that seemingly led nowhere. Kicker is following around they revealed to us a ingeniously hidden watch tower carved into the mountain the hills completely obscured the way. Thing is no one was able to get it due to it being locked down tight even if you could find it.

Luckily for us Bugger required training included climbing and free running/parkour so it wasn't long before we made our way up(shit was tough the area had clearly been treated against this sort of thing). Sadly we lost a guy who tumbled to his death. Dude didn't make a sound on his way down. We got in and looked around the place was in surpringly good condition. Even had an intact armory, sleeping quarter, pantry/cooking area the works. Only problem we encountered after that was getting the metal door open. Good lord that shit was heavy and reinforced to hell as well. We even had to get the guys outside to help us with it. After that though we established shop sent word to the nearby buggers in the mountains to send out a force. Plus we rewarded the cultists with some of the stuff in the armory after that it was a whole lot of waiting until we could get relieved. Luckily we had to dig Jason a grave to keep us busy as well as 'relieving' him of his stuff. Equipment shortage was hitting us all hard.

As we road toward Butterroot, well as I road and they strode, I continued to practice the language of the Builders. I hope he was as interested in picking up what English I was trying to teach him, but I can’t tell. Conversations are still minimalistic and our Elf translator works to fill in the massive voids. I was beginning to make a lot of progress and as long as he spoke rather than use his light show I was able to follow the direction of the conversation and understand the general idea. I had worked on Earth as a translator in foreign countries for a long time, learning an additional language was in my nature. The only problem with the Builder’s language is that it uses a lot of symbolism and it was difficult to understand what they were implying sometimes.

Over the four days it took us to make the trip to Butterroot I had spoken with nearly each of the 36 Builders. At night they told me the stories of the Sky and stars. They called the night sky the Highest Wing. The Stars were the Host and Harem of the Highest Wing, with the moon being First Mother.

In the morning they greeted the First Father as he rose over the forest to our East. At night they bid the Sun farewell as it set over the Nightmare Woods. They had a lot of reverence for First Father and Mother. Back on Earth I would have loved correcting people with science and letting the facts illuminate ignorance, but here. . . I couldn’t correct them. Their stories of Highest Wing watching over the wings of their people, their reenactments of battles at night to honor Highest Wing, all of it was so inspiring.

Tragedy strikes at the lake! We still need to name that thing. Anyways, some newbie got his leg mangled by some water bug. The medics were able to save it but it gave a lot of the newbies a scare, since a lot of them spend their free down at the lake shore since it doesn't smell as bad there from the overflowing latrines. The people needed something to do, so I presented them with a task. I had spears given out to anyone off duty and interested and sent them down to the shore to kill everything in the water that wasn't human. We're going to have some people cook up anything they manage to catch as part of the survival training. I'm stationing some guards to keep an eye on their antics down there just in case. In other news, there's rumors of a Builder war party running around near River city. Something inside me burns, makes me want to test myself against one but why the hell would I do that? That would probably just get myself killed. It won't be a yowler or rapedactyl or cultist that kills me, it'll be a builder. I just know it. Well, either that or the Phantom Mazda.
>>
>>28489454
Our assumptions were right, the ruins that the underground river emerged out into is just clear of the Nightmare Forest.

The surrounding land consists of a load of rolling hills and craters, former lakes maybe? Woods are scattered throughout the area but there is nothing like the all-encompassing death jungle that covers /tg/.

The weather here is also a lot dryer than what I'd gotten used to in /tg/, I'd grown so used to that constant humid feeling that I'd forgotten what a plain dry heat felt like.

Bernie just spotted smoke to the south, so we are tying up our boats further back in the tunnel to hide them from casual passerbys and packing up to go investigate. Rod is already double checking his rifle and that weirdo Thaldor is muttering something to one of his arrows.

I know they just want to protect us incase the smoke is coming from a group like the nutjobs from /b/ but I somehow think they are the most threatening aspect of this particular endeavor.

I'll write again if I don't end up getting myself scalped.

I remember when we could still at least somewhat respect possessions of the dead. Granted not the corpses themselves but still its the thought that matters. All thanks to us getting undercut by the Empire material wise and our shortage of manpower acquiring the right materials. Worse part is without the needed materials and our already strained equipment supply we can't even really afford to trade even our specialty stuff. Only goddamn reason we still get stuff from the Karavans is due to the Kult. I swear *sniff* without those beautiful MurderKube worshiping bastards we wouldn't even have guns and ammo anymore.

Thing it to help stockpile our ammo and guns we have been forced to use learn/use substitutes we get to choose from slings, throwing, crossbows, or bows. Me being the unlucky bastard that I am had some bow experience so I got stuck with. Which really sucks bow training is considered pure misery even by Bugger training standards. Man teacher wise we also got the worst one too. I mean the throwers got a bad ass Nordic guy, slings had a crazy survivalist, crossbows a creepy stealthy figure, but what do we get? A fucking nazi slave driver from hell. Goddamn did I hate that bitch. I swear she had a hugest murderboner for longbowmen but goddamn its takes YEARS to build someone like that up. Not acceptable with her. Despite the fact she will end up running out of time doesn't mean she don't try. There is a reason the Bugger bowman forces are small, but some of our best.

We lost those bastards when they used the mountain sides to skirt Cadia and head straight inot /b/ teritory.

That scares the shit out of me, no reason for elves wanting to go up to the /b/arbarians can be a good reason. But I wasn't about to lead a handful of Outriders into enemy heartland on a wild goose chase. Instead we just warned the Castellan of Cadia about what we had been following and decided it was about time we headed back to the Keep.

That was a week ago and honestly, this excursion has been good training for some of the fresher members of my unit.

Whether it was for fending off the few idiotic raiders that camp out in the deep jungle or those fucking Yowlers or some sort of other murderbeast, they have all managed to put their skills to use.

But wouldn't you know it, we get back to Butterroot territory and pick up the trail of, guess who, fucking more elves. We sped up to catch them, before taking a parralel path to them, and following them in what seems to be the direction of the Keep.

We've made our presence obvious, so they know we are following them and they haven't tried anything yet.

Still, my men and I have our bows at the ready should they turn out to be hostile.

Back on the bandwagon it seems. So, Rain's still here, I really really don't think its gonna quit. That said we're apparently being trained as soldiers...who the fuck decided this for me? I did not get a say in this. What protest I offered well, it didn't go over well. When I tried it the last time I wrote I ended up lugging around the entire mess kit. Most of it cast iron pots and pans, that clanged and banged and seemed to be attached just right so that you'd get hit by them.

Fuck these guys and their little army. The only stress relief we've been given is each day for an hour we get to swing these heavy fucking wooden swords back and forth in some asinine drill while their cloaked asses sit under a tree and watch and yell and tell us just how badly we fucked up.

So yeah, Nukes more and more tempting. Sadly, I was a goddamned Liberal arts major, even here it's a useless goddamned degree.

Save the proselytizing for Kog, Sixer. The priority right now is ensuring these people survive, and I won't tolerate demagogues disrupting the order of this camp. You'll have plenty of time to convert them once they've learned how not to eat the little minnow creatures on the ground and die with parasites hollowing out their insides.

Guards, toss him out gently. But if he comes back toss him out after a good kick to the balls. We don't have time for this. There's just been another flu outbreak and another group of cultist infiltrators discovered, and camp three is almost ready to riot with the power out. That damn generator is on the fritz again!

Where are the tasers and pepper spray when you need them?

More warrior kindred. These also astride war beasts. I can see them even from a distance, they are children at the hunt it would seem. Nestlings who know not the way of the stalk and lured prey.

But the Priest of the Other's seems content. Perhaps allied kindred to his own wing? I know not, nor is it my place to ask. Mine own cohorts are eager though anxious to see what these strange mounted figures bear towards us. We are hotblooded yet and the War drum beat quickens as we wait for the chance to seek the cur. I can feel my own even as I try to steady it. The Younger Wingmates of the cohort are not as quickly to turn away from the lure of its sound and have started to take jabs at each other once more.

We are anxious for war.

That is because they have driven us to this state! Taken our belongings and forced us to perform menial labour!

This is what they shall do to you as well!
DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!

Allready they make you live in these shitty camps while they live in fully furnished stone cities, with electricity!

Us terrans must unite and overthrow these primitive mud people and take our places as the leaders, so that we may truly establish civilization!

I fucking hate my job I just KNOW. The fucking drill masters are looking for me. I mean I DID my basic training damn which basically involved improved military training, swimming, climbing, parkour, martial arts training, and weapons training. I DID it damn before getting snapped up by Dr. Drake as her new assistant. Who it is worth noting never last long. I have already made it a month and won a nice a pot for my trouble. Bugger currency most involved old world coinage and dice if your not bartering anyway, but now its been awhile. They want me to do the refresher training where you brush up and then have to learn something new. I do NOT want. I suffered for this position I am no longer in the active battle roll despite not being a cripple. Oh shit...I hear them coming for me. No NOT THE RESISTANCE TRAINING ANYTHING BUT THAT NOO.

....i SHOULD of come here of my own free choice. You try to skip out or delay things they make sure to stick with the hardest/worst ones. For me this means resistance training(aka getting your asskicked/tortured and general being fucking miserable all day erry day) and training under Knight Jarvo the Cleave

Well...I have been exposed to the elements sometimes artificial even, tortured, ass kicked, starved, and dehydrated. I knew the special resistance training was bad and I had undergone the required endurance training but that was like comparing the hell and heaven while being serious. Finally that was when we underwent the training for Jarvo the Cleave and his arch nemesis Sammy Slice n Dice was around. I have hard of Jarvo a bastard who specialized in medieval/knightly combat styles. Thing is his stuff was the legit crap as in not romanticized and quite brutal. So yeah that fun even more of an asskicking. For I knight I thought he would of been honorable oh not quite so. He does just enough to be good at court, make the ladies gush, and give an illusion of it during a duel. There is none otherwise.

I...I killed someone today. With a wooden sword. And no, not one of the Rangers. Alright I'll start from the beginning.

This morning it was raining, and we were walking through the Woods, this jungle with its Orange leaves and green flowers and shit that doesn't make any sense. And well we stopped for a bit mostly for our own sake the rangers could have kept going but, christ alright. Yeah, We stopped and while we were bitching we heard a scream towards the back of the group. We ran towards where we knew some guy, a military history buff should have been. He obviously wasn't there. Well most of him. Something we though had snatched him. Turns out we were partly right. A group of goddamned cannibals attacked us.

I killed someone today. That's yeah, that's all I've got. I brained his ass till I cracked his skull open and got brains on this fucking wooden sword. And all I got was a 'good job newguy' from one of the rangers...

As Head Biologist of the Empire under the Council of 15 it is my job to catalog all new species and plants we encounter across the Empire. While I have spent the past year up north working in the peninsula of the Otaku, I am now honored to be working in the new territories our Legion has been conquering.

As we moved into the plains of Travel and what little remains of /gif/, my team came across a herd of an omnivore roughly the size and shape of a tiger from Earth. Having a Canine face and snout, bifocal eyes, sharpened and elongated incisors, its face is refreshingly familiar. The spine is stretched roughly 6 feet and is remarkably flexible. It is hexapodal like nearly every other species on this planet. While many other species use the forelimbs as manipulator appendages, these still use them for balance. Both rear sets of limbs are positioned near the tail end of the spine. Upon watching these plains cats move the two sets of rear limbs work in tandem for stronger propulsion. The nearly 6 foot long cat was further elongated by an equally long tail. Massive and muscular this tail was used in a similar fashion to the Cheetah from Earth. It works as a balance and rudder when the cat reaches high speeds on the open savannah.

Each limb is double jointed, one of the signs that evolution is still a bit wonky here on this planet. The limbs are around four feet long, bringing the cat to about chest height for most of our science team. Each of the hind limbs slims down into a claw like spike that they use for extreme traction. The front limbs are paw-like for manipulation of their food, but while running they extend claws roughly 6 inches long so they can provide the proper traction for turning.
>>
>>28497088
The best thing about these cats is that they are fairly docile. They hunt small animals and anything larger than an Earth dog is of their prey list. After observing them for nearly a week one of my scientists got it in his mind to go see if he could play with the kitty. After some initial skittishness the cats warmed up to him. They’re like Earth cats and with time they may deem you worthy of playing with them. Several other scientists got clawed when they approached the cats, but a few of us have befriended some of the herd.

I suggest further domestication of these cats and using them for transportation or heavy moving. The traction their legs provide give them amazing power and. . . well yes I’ve ridden my cat and it is scary how fast they can be.

Also, as requested I will be adding a common name and stop using the latin for everything. We call this plains cat Neko. Fuck you director!

Oh why well near training ended we got a treat. To see Knight Jarvo the Cleave and Sammy Slice n Dice fight it out. It was like a battle between the Old World's West(Jarvo) and East(Sammy). I swear Sammy just danced around the guy tiring him out with him heavy carapace armor, shield, and mace. With her in medium carapace with her two handed sword. It was clear that as Jarvo got more and more tired it was under for him to keep out of the way. That was when the unexpected happened he seemed to falter and trip. So Sammy charged in that was when he flung his shield up dragging sand up and into her face. Which caused her to open a tiny chink in her defenses which he charged into crashing into her sending them falling. We weren't sure what happened next as they both got up cursing at each other. Damn it I couldn't see what had occurred. I later heard that each had a blade ready to dive into the other so it ended in a draw. After that I was let go. Hobbling away only to find at my station...so much reports to go over. Oh fuck me.

While working I heard a chink before passing out...when I came to I found myself in a place I had never been before. When I got up and looked out words I saw a flickering dimly lit training area from hell. The light moved making it random...from what I could see it looked like a hellish version of Ninja Warrior. That was when someone tapped me on the shoulder I jumped so badly I almost actually fell out and had to be caught. The room had been completely empty and sealed besides the windo window which was the only way through.

"Hm that is rude you know."

"Oh fuck you oh don't tel me your FACELESS."

"Bingo."

"What do you want from me?"

"Dr. Drake had request."

"..I don't like the sound of that. What is that exactly?"

"She requested that we...trained you in countermeasures."

"Oh no. I mean come on I am but a LOWLY assistant!"

"Sucks to be you then," said the Faceless as he approached and pushed me over the window seal.

Journal Log 34

The Sixth house has shown up at the gates with their hello kitty umbrellas and megaphones. For all their boasts, they have yet to do anything and instead live off our work while complaining like a basement virgin. I'm tempted to have them taken aboard the Titanic for a quick sail to the deep end of the lake. Anyways, strong winds blew over the windmill generator, so I ended up overseeing the reconstruction of that most of the day. We're going to challenge the wind and reinforce the shit out of it this time. I brought over some of the architect hopefuls for their advice on it. Once it's up, the only real problem will be keeping the generator and electrical wires dry. Not easy since the rain comes at it from all directions. The lack of power has brought down moral; there's a general feeling of dissent flowing through the camp. All work and no play. The problem is that the play is just more work. We might need to slow down the training a bit. At least early on, or let them keep some of their personal effects that aren't deemed necessary or important to Central Supply or the guilds. I'll meet up with ButterKing and the Central Supply rep about that.

We found the source of the smoke, just a campfire, and have also made first contact with members of a different board, /sci/ specifically, and they are a peculiar lot.

They have an interesting set up of technology, two connestoga style wagons with a improvised generators attached to their wheels which were being used to charge lamps, laptops and even electronic microscopes.

Why did they have microscopes?
Because /sci/ has messed up priorities thats why.

The central city of /sci/ was actually crushed sometime during the earlier waves and the survivors had simply scattered and avoided the enemy forces until they had grown bored and pulled back to their own territory.

Now they live mostly nomadically, although some have built semi-permanent homes in the craters around old builder ruin. Their homes are all easily collapsible and from what I’ve been told they can breakdown a whole village and be on the move in less than an hour.

But even with all this, rather than find someplace new to settle or trying to rebuild, they just move around studying the natural world, cataloguing and naming all the plants and animals. Leave it to these people to think its more important to be the one to name the Tomasaurus and the Tomwing before anyone else.

And yes those are their names for the Tortello and the Rapedactyls.

I slowed as we started to enter familiar territory of the Butterrooters. I knew riding into the Keep with 6 6’s of Builders would cause a riot amongst the new wavers that were sure to be learning the ropes around the keep. Some of their riders had been following us for a short time. I noticed the heightened state of tension among the builders before I noticed the actual riders trying to tail us. Apparently these bird men are extremely good at having battlefield awareness. I can’t wait to see some idiot try to assassinate one just so I can watch for the face he makes when he realizes his head is no longer attached.

I think the bloodlust of the builders is rubbing off on me as I ride alongside them. They have a word for the growing tension and eagerness to fight, I can recognize it, but the only thing that I can think of to really translate it is bloodlust.

We ended up slowing down and letting the Butterroot riders catch up to us. Or well, I slowed down and the Builders followed my lead. I explained that we would be waiting for our followers to arrive. They were a fellow wing, allies against a much larger threat that we had tested ourselves on once before and have been preparing for the next chance for warfare. With luck, they would have knowledge of our prey because this was their land and they fiercely guarded it. While I spoke a few of the builders showed signs of recognizing some of my words. The elf listened for the entire speech and then translated it into a lightshow.

Hah, imagine wooing a girl with a love song spoken entirely through a rave lightshow and some amazing jitterbug to see some epic tracers. I kind of felt awesome having my speech translated into light. I think I’ll keep this elf for later!

I have the worst luck. When we finally did get relieved we got sent of to the watch over camp fail. Apparently things are not going to well for them. Even worse these poor bastards are completely stripped of all their possessions and forced to work without reward. Must say I have grown to hate watching these guys the new comers can only carry so much and leave much behind. Most of which is picked up by cultists or our guys at camp. They also miss potential soon to be cultists. Sure they get some of them but only the dumber veteran ones. If there is one thing buggers have learned it is that the faiths spread like sickness that one is either comes here with or spreads it like a sickness. If your healthy body, mind, and soul your safe. Problem is even with just one of those three it leaves a chink in the armor that the sickness can then exploit. The only real blessing in my opinion is they tend to miss so many of them. It seems like their not the only ones interested. We got reports of strange groups and cultists. I plan to investigate the groups. They claim raiders are wiped out around here and these ones seem most peculiar.

Some new comers actually ran into our base camp basically a bunch of fallen trees forming a dome like shape and heavily overgrown. No way to find it really our guys considered themselves blessed for finding it. None of their patrols of figured itout. We felt loathed to hand them off to camp fail. Especially considering one is showing the signs of the cult. Still though we basically knocked them out took their more useful possessions and placed them where a squad will come through shortly. We have long since figured out how they operated. We are thinking of sending an inflitator problem is most of our guys would stick out like a sore thumb. Judge message said however we wouldn't have to worry apparently a faceless has already gotten inside. Why the hell the faceless are involved is most unusual. Something must be up.

Journal Log 35

Power's back up and running. I decided to take a small vacation back to Kog for a few days for some R&R. I'm leaving my second in charge of the Rangers while I'm gone. I'm going to personally lead this newbie batch to the city, stick around for a week and then return with the supply caravan. It'll be nice to jump back into Kog's nightlife, get a little boozed up, hotseat some tabletop games and chase the cats out of my house for awhile. The group I'm leading back consists of 150 newbies, 3 rangers, a medic and some guild reps who are swapping out shifts. This group of newbies are mostly manufacturing types. Wood working, metal working, leather working. A handful of Ranger potentials as well. So far, Cadia's been sucking up anyone with any combat experience or at least anyone who thinks they do, so I'm cutting them off this round and restocking Kog. They can have some leatherworkers this time. The trip shouldn't take but a day and a half, two at most on foot if we keep a good pace. It might be harsh on the newbies but just leaving the camp should drastically improve their moral. Just thinking about it has done wonders for mine.

we've reached Cadia, I'll never get used to that ridiculous name but whatever. Since that...event we've been talking more openly. A lot of the Rangers I think are noting we're not just here as schlubs but as people. They'd talk about the 'Old World' where they lived third rate lives and idled by on Chips and mt. Dew or about how they loved Larping or played a vampire once. It was...kinda weird really. they all seem nostalgic for shit that really wasn't that great. Wonder if I'll end up like that.

but yeah Cadia, The city of the Big fucking wall. Seriously the curtain walls on this place are fucking massive, I've seen teams of men jogging them every now and again as we've gotten closer. Apparently The place has seen a couple of nasty sieges in the past. Who the hell would want to fight a war on this fucking planet?

As I sit in my office her, at the top of my recently completed fortress, and enjoying my evening meal, I can hear the clash of my forces against those of the New Sun.

I suppose I should be more worried, but quite honestly, this battle means nothing.

For a second they had me interested, that they were avoiding the obvious weakness in the wal,l to try and force my less defended position.

But no. This is just a blocking force, meant to keep my men locked down here and from supporting the others at the gap.
Utterly Boring.

Sallier and Grange face the true host of the New Sun as I speak, a true contest between equals. It is my greatest regret I cannot partake in that battle.

At least the sound of the enemy screaming, as they throw themselves at my wall only to die horribly, it is like music.

These...these aren't elves, at least not as we know them. Sure they share the fungus thing with them, but the elves are really just fucked up humans.

These just aren't, I don't know what they are, they have four-ish arms and are way to thin. And they fucking flash like a teeny bopper at a rave. I was tempted to approach them with bow drawn just for that.
The only thing that stopped me was, well, the Smurf.

I know, I know. Thats not his name, but thats what all of Da Boyz and the Outriders have been calling him since we first saw him appear at the keep. He's a good guy, friendly, and a hero if the tales of his action in Cadia have any truth to them.

So instead of approaching with all our weapons drawn I had two thirds of my men fan out on behind us and the rest accompanied me to go an greet these people to our lands.

Who knows, maybe greeting them politely might work better as a way of opening a dialogue than an axe to the face.

The approach unarmed. I jostle the 'ef" and tell him to speak for me. I speak to Other's unlike my cohort. They will take this wrong. Foolish Other, walking towards us in a show of force no weapon drawn Kin standing back. Yes, this is not good, or rather too good. I..I do not want to fight yet but I do. I know the priest will be upset either way. The Other mind, is not like ours, they fight the Long War, but do not.

I step forward, my swordhand ready, a gesture of respect to a worthy foe. I demand the Ef speak lest things move towards rains tainted with blood. Allied Others they may be but a warrior never approaches alone and unarmed. The challenge, It rings in my head, the songs of warriors casting kings down as the walk towards them in no armor and no weapon Drawn, wings behind and unattended.

Well we were smart enough to not stick around after our cover was blown. Truth be told if anyone asks its because we didn't want them all to be alerted. The actual reason is there was not a chance in hell any of us wanted to be any where near Faceless when their on a mission. We all knew the horror stories and rumors. Supposedly having literally no face to being able to steal another person's body, heart, and mind. Shit there were even guys going on about them being able to go through walls and fly. I think the reason we moved out so quickly was we scared each other with the horror stories. Normally you could laugh them off but some of us had been around when they were on a mission. Lately it seemed like they had been getting bored ever since the buggers spread out thus less conflict for them to fix. Seems like they found something to keep them occupied.

When we got to the Judge's base she was not happy. Ordered our guys to start making regular trips over there with patrols...while being stationed here. Those poor fuckers yet they actually seemed somewhat relieved. Me and Alix meanwhile got ordered to join a bugger warband that was going to come down here soon. Apparently some long ranging warbands have returned and with Buggy gone they want to poke around the deeper in the /tg/ area. As well as establish an outpost at River City where apparently they have quite the cultist problem. Hopefully it gives me time to check out those strange groups.

I even heard that the long ranging nurgle bands came back and with some SCIENCE brethren plan to plunge into the Nightmare Forest. I doubt this will end well considering all the other groups never actually returned, but for some reason they seem to feel like this time will actually get results.

I am beginning to love my time riding alongside the Builders. The shear look of surprise from the other humans when they see us is priceless. New arrivals are shocked to see my awkward skin tone, new and old are astonished to see the glowing lightshow I tell them is a builder from the Nightmare Woods. It’s a traveling freakshow and I’m loving every minute of it.

So we stopped and waited on the Butterroot riders to approach us. I noticed several of the Builders to our flanks were paying more attention to the sides rather than those few that road up to us. Apparently they were able to see the riders who were flanking us and they were ready to defend against any potential threats.

As the leader road forward and introduced themself I was grinning madly. Chesire cat had nothing on the mirth I had at being able to introduce these Butterrooters to my builder companions. Or at least I was until the elf started speaking for the Negotiator. I quickly road forward and asked the builder to wait long enough for me to explain the situation to the new rider. After all, it’s honorable for a person to know who they face in a fight. I spoke quickly to tell the rider that I was riding with a wing of Builders. They were searching for a fallen elf who did unspeakable evils to their wing before fleeing through their land. We were tracking the elves and hoped to enlist the aid of some of the Butterroot trackers… however, by riding forward alone the lead rider had challenged the Negotiator and they would have to spar now. I also requested that the elf explain to the Negotiator that this was to be a bloodless combat, but I would not step on his honor by stepping in front of his combat.

I now have something resembling a house, albeit I share it with five other guys and being the newest member get the shitty spot that I'm pretty sure is the Alien equivalent of a closet. Fantastic. But, this is home now. When we reached the city they handed me a set of clothes. this time a set of some sort of cloth shirts and pants two a piece with a big fucking white shield stitched into them. Apparently here if you're not Guild or 'Regimented' as they call them or working on making a living trading shit. You're a White shield. Lowest of the low and bitch to everybody that might get called big papa.

But, back to home, Cadia( City of the BFW) has a surprisingly bumping nightlife...if you're not a whiteshield or happen to not be attached to sleep. I found this out mostly through luck, and a bottle of green tinted 'vodka' from a place called Kog apparently the city near the Center of the Region we control. Not the continent just the goddamned region. What the hell have these people been doing here? They can't even get a decent society up and running after three years?

This battle is ours.

The first droop of blood is yet to be shed and yet I already know this, with a certainty that only the most pious of faith can instill.

But this is not simply a matter of faith, it is a matter of truth

Overlord Grange commands the reserves, and with them the cavalry, and is to hold back until a flank is full exposed at which point he is to crash into it with the wrath of a Greater Daemon.

For that to happen my forces must hold long enough against the enemy and though the enemy outnumbers our men 3 to 1, and we may not have a completed wall, we have every other advantage on our side.

Our men are fresher, our men are more experienced and with better equipment and most most importantly, the leadership, my leadership, outclasses the enemies a hundredfold.

They will run directly into all of our massed fire and then into our phalanx, even if they hold their own phalanx to meet ours, the Death Knights in the lines will sow chaos and break their spear line.

Once they have fully engaged us we shall begin to withdraw in an orderly fashion, goading them to follow and charge after us. That is when Grange and his men shall spring.

That is when my loyalty and faith shall see this Tzeentch Warlord humbled and destroyed.

English is a wonderful language. It has enough hard consonants and requires enough lip movement that words can be heard echoing through trees and lips read over long distances if using the correct magnification. These foreign scouts, disgusting cretins, had thought they were well hidden. Well, they were well hidden, but not from the likes of me. Three years as a ranger, two of which a lead scout and sniper, two successful wars with the Barbarians, and now these filthy creatures come into our lands and try to enforce their own version of control.

I had been stalking this group ever since they finished flaying a man in our territory. The absolute disregard for decency and human life is appalling, and these disgusting creatures no longer deserved to be referred to with human pronouns. After several days of tracking them from a long distance they relocated towards camp Abaddon. I was initially skeptical, maybe seeing the camp take in the scared and weak would help lead them towards the light. I was wrong. A group of scared newbies were fleeing a pack of Scale Wolves and stumbled into the filth’s camp.

They thought themselves hidden, but the forest has a way with things. Even I do not walk unseen by it, and I’ve been reading her for years now.

It’s interesting to me how someone can view camp Abaddon with such disdain as they had, yet when confronted with frightened newbies, they mug them and leave them for dead. The most interesting thing is something they said as they were packing up to move on, they wanted infiltrators to move into the camp.
>>
>>28498239
They packed up camp in a hurry. Something frightened them enough that they were sloppy and lead me right back to their base camp. I’ve had to stay a longer distance away from the camp and I can no longer read the lips for intel. However, I am watching troop movements and they’re sending patrols down into our territory. I've also spotted the leader, a woman they continuously speak to for directions.

I broke radio silence for the first time in almost a month to use my long range radio to call in a potential new threat based north of Camp Abaddon.

I eyed the weird elf warily, my hand drifting over my handaxe at my belt but not grabbing or drawing it, but then turned my attention to the Smurf.

"Welcome back to Butterroot Keep, its always nice to see a friendly face return, even when accompanied by strange other ones."

I then listened to his words and grimaced

"You are looking for a criminal from their forest? Hmm. I-I might know who you are speaking of actually. My men and I just got back from tracking a rogue group of elves on wivern back riding through /tg/ land and then dissappearing passed Cadia.

They knew we were following us and never stopped to identify themselves in any way, and from what we could see, they were hauling a lot of equipment."

Then they mentioned something about a spar...with the tall thing, because I rode forward by myself. Wonderful, you try to appear less threatening and the alien has an ego problem and sees it as a challenge.

Still, it would be bloodless, I can do that and a spar with someone who knew what they were doing would be a wonderful change of pace after so long. I'd not had a good fight since I walked a beat back home.

"Okay, a bloodless spar that seems fair. It would be a privelege to see what a fighter like you is capable of. Bare knuckles, then?"

Apparently our prey had already exceeded the territories of the Confederacy. I was still intent on riding with the Builders north despite the fact it would take us out of the safety of the City-States and into the wastelands of /b/. I would have a chance to see the wallows and cesspits they arrived into, and maybe bring some new arrivals home with different skill sets. Hell, our actions pursuing these elves may very well save some fools from joining warbands and getting killed for some stupid 40k cult. After the match I would have to explain to the Wing where the prey had fled and what we knew to expect from our war with the men up North.

As the rider came forward and agreed to terms I felt like I needed to clarify the rules between the two groups. Basic ground rules like no pulling hair or feathers, no weapons, no biting. I had to explain to the Negotiator what a "tapout" was so he would know if the girl was submitting, and how he could submit should the rider pin him.

After explaining the basic rules of the fight I took a step back and allowed them their fun.

I can't do a French accent, so I decided that perhaps I'd try a Cajun accent. I couldn't quite get that down, so I based the voice on some demi-southerners I've known with some odd speach patterns.

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0dV4V7xCbT9

I also did an alternate with a generic southern accent with a bit of Arkansas:

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0QfLyNm5qNb

No idea which one is more appropriate. I'm afraid I don't quite have the ability to give the character their full due.

eck, just reread that, my spell check sucks
>>
>>28498893

I think I like the Cajun accent but I prefer the southern accents pacing a little more.
Both are good really

The message came in, and I considered.

Raiders outside the camp. Mobile, in a small group. Utterly barbaric, they'd be committing unspeakable atrocities inside of Confederate territory.

Well, there was no way to tell for sure, but they seemed foreign. Their gear wasn't designed for the jungle, apparently, and they moved like experienced and dangerous men slightly out of their element.

There were a lot of ways to handle this sort of situation. One of which was to use the hammer approach and send out everyone I could nab. That would fail; a small mobile force would easily evade us, and it would destroy the camp.

The other solution was to send out a small group of highly trained Boyz and Rangers on a mission to kill them. No talking; just ambush and snipe them from a distance using their superior knowledge of the terrain.

I had a third plan. Send out a large, obvious force on a 'coincidental' training exercise that would move slowly and return after a few days. It would be large and obvious and easy to evade but should spook them as any large force of people should spook a small group of raiders. Just before doing that, I'd send out the experienced killteam to spy on them and see where they started to flee to; find out more about them. Then kill them.

The newbies needed to get out into the woods anyway.

erhm seems like our guys were being followed by two different people no less. I was wondering why Alix was gone far more then usual. Damn this terrain I KNEW their homeground advantage would ruin us. Sure we could win in fight but this fucking terrain...only a part of our forces those experienced ones lose out to their force's experience unless they had undergone the fog. Luckily though they failed to find our bases blessed be the native cultists for showing our forces the way. Still though they found out who our Judge is. Not sure what were going to do we need to establish a goddamn training ground down here so our forces can properly adapt. In that regard me and Alix will be moving out by ourselves. We will rejoin the warband once we find a suitable place. We shall adapt to this climate. As is our forces have been sticking to the mountain edge. With these warbands...who are going to be getting here in a few months. Fuck.

Turns out their needed back home to rest up, report, and help resupply our forces. After that is done THEN they can come back down here. Goddamn it. Our lines are stretched thin down here we NEED those fucking bastards. Its just our need is less then theirs. Well at least we have SOME good news...kinda. Turned out claiming the larger fortresses and city in the mountains had to be aborted. We don't have the man power for it all stretched our lines way to thin. Instead we took to claiming the towers which are scattered all around and are set up in such a way as serve as beacons yet remain cleverly hidden. Even better builders knew about the fog and took care to place their towers where it can't easily reach. There we were able to request some forces to be diverted our way. They weren't able to send us much but at least its something. Also I made sure we have some local cultist guides. If these bastards could evade these guys as long as they have we are sure as hell going to use them. Granted they're not buggers, but they don't have to be.

Here I am, faced with sentient alien life and Im about to punch it in the face.

My dad would be so proud.

I settle into a low stance and set my arms in a comfortable boxing guard.
My plan was to keep low and my guard up and slip passed his reach where I could get in close and send him to the ground and either pummel him or put him in a submission hold.

Instead I saw his leg flash up and felt the crack of my skull as it impacted with my head. Right away it was like the fight in Rocky IV, except instead of watching it I WAS Rocky and this was my Drago, and my head felt like it was turning to jello. To bad for the birdman that I knew my way around a fist fight and I had been on the bad end of a beating many times before, this was nothing new.

So I knew if I stayed in that position I'd not last long, so I did the first thing that popped into my head, and that was to catch one of his flashing fists as it connected with my face and then just allowed myself to fall backwards onto the ground, using my body like a damn lever to flip him over my body and sending him to the ground.

Like a flash I was on him after that, straddling his back and set him into a choker hold as I pinned his arms with my legs. Eventually he smashed his head backwards into my face and sending me tumbling off of him.

We both scrambled back to our feets, regarding each other for barely a second before we went right back to wailing on each other again. He would try and keep me at arms reach, his arms and legs flashing out like machine gun fire, before I would finally get in close where I would throw him to the ground and put him into a hold where I could thrash him with hammer blows unitl he finally broke free.

This back and forth continues for the good part of twenty minutes until we were both left staring each other done, both of us covered in bruises and showing obvious signs of pain and fatigue.

I couldn't help but smile, this alien chicken man might actually beat me.

I have since infiltrated this camp Abaddon for a little while now. I have discovered that they do not take kindly to cultists and I was able to confirm their horrendous murdering practice for them. "If your going to make them suffer might as well use it accomplish something beyond the kill" as Buggy used to say. Granted for some reason he never liked making people suffer. Only time he allowed it was for when we needed to make a message or progress of some sort.We have at least kept to that but these bastards do not. Even more troublesome I have since detected the presence of cults some had come in already infected while others were introduced. Thing is those here are used to the older hardened cultists they did not really realize the others. So I found myself plying my skills I am used to dealing with this sort of thing. Even better I am getting a close up of how cults begin and grow in the very beginning. Buggers are only used to the later stages. This early insight oh I look forward to reporting upon my return.

Good to be in action again back before the breakup of bugger forces me and my brethren had prevent infighting. We got quite good at it and made sure to fuel or reputation as best we can. Its amazing how far you can go on rep alone just have to make sure to fuel the fires. Now however a few Faceless headed north to check up on bugger operations that way. Still though though this was SOO boring. At least back home it could be fun challenge. Here it was basically shooting fish in a barrel. Good lord could you BELIEVE that they STILL haven't figured out how some of these guys actually died and not even their own brethren suspected anything? Its a shame, but the work must be done. Can't allow these cults to act up where they then could be easily squished. Their young and stupid still so I have to go around and take out ring leaders, troublemakers, preachers, ect. So that way upon they can depart without it being feet first.

This fucking guy just didn't give up, it looked exhausted, more so than me even, though it did look like it was in less pain than I was in.

But rather than tap out the birdman just kept coming at her, with fists and kicks lashing out, though slowing noticably from his earlier attacks. It was also getting wiser, using its knees and elbows more to drive me back like some weird form of muay thai.

My own stubborness paid of as in return I was learning how to adjust my holds and throws to this guys different anatomy, he was to tall and differently shaped to directly translate them directly. Now I was catching his attacks and twisting them on him and learning where to apply pressure to cause his body to crumple.

So on it went, our entourages watching in fascination and disbelief as neither of us surrendered or was defeated, even my cracked ribs and his dislocated arm/wing stop us. Or at least we weren’t willing to admit the other was the victor over us. But even we could only last so long before we just started to give out. I had his good arm in a hold and kept applying pressure, aiming to dislocate it as well as he just continued to demolish my chest with his repeated blows with his knee.

But there we were, kneeling on the ground just staring at each other, both trying to gather the energy to continue fighting. Still I had a grin plastered over my face, Id just been the first human to get into a fist fight with an alien and it felt good.

I just needed to stay conscious long enough for it to pass out from exhaustion and pain and I will have been the first human to beat them in a fist fight as well.

There's a murderer in our camp, and I've had my eye on the person for a while.

Deaths among newbies are not unusual, but "mysterious illnesses" that kill people overnight and don't conform to the usual methods of death are terribly suspicious.

It would seem that they are hunting cultists. Or should I say, "Cultists".

We're aware of cult infiltration in the camp. Amanda and her paladins really don't let anything evade their attentions. We know of them well before they do any real damage here. It's why I made sure to personally oversee this place.

To be blunt, they aren't really doing us a favor. The newbies aren't driven by the hard edge of desperation that the old survivors were. Their 'faith' in the cults is the 'faith' of a person playing a game. They don't consider it real and realistically, they aren't going to become real cultists. There's an opportunity to turn everyone around.

But you can't rescue the dead. Mind you, I've executed people here, quietly. But we do it simply - a bullet to the head or a slit throat, not horrific mutilation or painful poisoning as these people prefer.

The six man kill team followed the raiders into the mountains before losing track of them. That, it would seem, is where they are headquartered. I held off on the actual kill order; it seems they're part of a much larger organization. It would be wise for the first strike against them to come from surprise.

This one may provide valuable intelligence. He's quite good, but like most long-timers he's got that lean survivor's look you can't really hide among people covered with baby fat. Besides that, three years is enough time to learn a lot, but not enough time to become an expert covert operative, except in comparison to others. The number he uses to get around camp is registered to a dead man. My filing system isn't so silly now, is it?

Tonight, we're sending in a team to capture him. We'll see how much he has to say.

...I am so bored. I don't actually get to really kill hardly anyone. I am usually able to prevent it from ever escalating that far where it is then required. Plus a lot of these groups are playing nice. Their still young cultist wise the madness and overwhelming faith has yet to really kick in. I really should of gone north. This is immensely boring. Well at least many of these guys will depart with their lives intact and them better then ever. While their methods are rather crude and quite barbaric. More importantly greedy I am really despising those guys at Central Supply. So stingy even when we were at our lowest we still made sure things are put out.

So anyone I was taking a breather smoking some Cigfe(which enhances ones senses at the cost of making you tired when it wears off) and drinking a nice cup of mint tea(ah its good to be elite). Desperately hoping that this camp would hurry and finish what its trying to do so I can slink away. When someone suddenly appeared where I could of sworn no one was there. I was right about to pull out my out my hidden weapon when we gave out the Faceless password...of a new guy. Oh crap that nearly made me kill him. Son of a bitch is good...too good. Clearly this guy was something else before joining up even.

So whats up newbie?

You fucked up.

Huh?

They kept detailed records.

...I am not THAT stupid you know.

As in you got marked.

hm?

I thought you had made sure to use drugs that mimic the flu and such.

I did. As for record keeping I can flip between them.

Doesn't work when your linked to a number granted you can lose them in the crowd bu-

Are you saying someone is killing them mysteriously?

it wasn't you?

Nope come on newbie. Even if your the new guy you should know better by now.

...then who are they chasing.

Death cultist.

We have those?

Kinda they tend to get themselves killed real early on though.

Considering this record keeping is something I hadn't prepared for as well as I had hoped.

"You going to bug out then?"

"Hm considering there is a target to go after besides myself certainly. I already have some ideas for countermeasures. Anyway you going to replace me?"

"...Certainly I have been watching you I wont make your mistakes."

"Oh that is some challenging words."

"By the way do buggers have death cultists even?"

"...Yeah. Kinda."

"Truth be told ever since Buggy left they also disappeared."

That is not good.

"Nah their actually pretty cool guys they just don't really care about death or if their the craziest ones they just want to spread it."

That doesn't sound like a good thing.

*sigh* "Why do you think buggers haven't suffered such horrible losses in battle? Those fuckers are the guys that go charging in kamikaze style just to save your ass through a rain of bullets with fog. The crazy ones will charge in covered in armor and full of bombs just to blow a hole in the enemies position in order to make sure their brothers and sisters don't have to. Don't diss the fucking death cults."

"...didn't realize they were like that."

"Indeed, thanks to bugger treatment their some of the highest bro tiered fuckers you can hope to find. Period. In any case I am going to vanish what will you do?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Fair enough new guy(sucker)."

An excerpt from "Striking and You: The Basics of Hand-to-Hand Combat."

Leg kicks are an oft overlooked, yet invaluable part of hand to hand combat. As such, they are an important tool in your arsenal, and one that, with proper refinement, breaks the will of your opponent. A solid kick to the thigh, inside or outside, causes the muscle to bruise and swell up, limiting motion and dexterity. After just one, you might see considerably more tepid strikes and motion from your opponent, seeing as you have taken a major source of his power and damaged it. Like body shots, these wear your opponent down over time, continually throwing them off their stance and adding up more and more damage to the same area, making it harder and harder for him to put his weight on that leg. It may rarely take your opponent out, but will quickly change the pace of a fight.

--Like most of the kicks in this manual, this blow is derived from Muay Thai. As such, a crucial detail to note is that the striking area is not the foot, full of small, easily broken bones; rather, it strikes with the shin with an impact not unlike a baseball bat. Combinations involving it, however, will take inspiration from the Dutch system of Kickboxing. (Refer to Page 65 for details.)

--When throwing this kick, the most important part is the step beforehand. By stepping the foot forward and turning it out, you both bring yourself into the proper distance for the strike AND open up your hips for more rotation. This brings most of the power into the strike as you twist the power of the large muscles of your back into the levers of the leg, delivering great force with the hard surface of the shin upon impact.

--Additional Note: The step out's opening of the hips not only increases your power, but also prevents you from grinding your hip flexors into oblivion, given that the joint is technically moving as intended. If you want to survive here, needing a cane at 40 will not help you.

I spied them through the binoculars. I'd been keeping close tabs on the spy since finding him. He met with someone else on the edge of the camp. Clearly, these people were enemy intelligence, making it even more vital that we capture them.

Initially I had categorized these people as insane raiders, but it seems more and more like the mountains harbor a raider empire. I hoped that the Hot Air Balloon enthusiast at the Keep was making progress; we'd need aerial scouts soon.

The 'death cultist' had been quietly carted off in the night. We would interrogate him for information. No torture, just simple FBI style interrogation. He was going to have to die in the end, but cooperation meant that he'd be allowed to get liquored up and have a piece of candy first.

The team moved in from the sides at my radio signal.

The new one was sharper than I had thought - perhaps he spied the glare off of my binoculars from across the camp, perhaps he sensed the movement around them, closing like a bear trap ready to spring.

I don't know, but he immediately perked up and fled.

That broke it all. The men broke cover and went after them, not sparing the sling stones. They were not supposed to kill them, but breaking their legs was fine. One of them got glanced on the arm, but they made it to the cover of the woods before the team could get to them.

Damn it all. They're going to get away.

GODDAMN IT NEWBIE YOU LED THEM TO US WHAT THE HELL MAN.

ah wait a second where the fuck did you go-oh you bastard. I checked what I had on me I had so stuff but most of it I couldn't take with me. Luckily I pulled out a nifty little whisle. Every bugger squad is required to carry out someone smoking Cigfe because those enhanced senses can be a real life saver. So I blew it only those dosed on it can hear it. Sadly me being dosed it was piercing but I knew the others would be aware. A bugger squad will come in shortly. That was when I heard the screaming. Oh damn it newbi- come to think of it he was fully equipped and wearing something new...hm. Never mind newbie keep them busy until help arrives. Wait why is he in front of me.

He flashed some hand signs stating he had brought company with him. Oh I love you newbie maybe you do got some potential after all.

I flashed how they were fighting.

He told me they were using nonlethal gas sacs to blow up some cover for us and took pot shots with knockout darts. After that they melted away...strange most of our guys are not all that familiar with-then again he is Faceless of course he can put together a team who can operate here.

That was when I asked about the person slumped over his. he flashed me that it was an officer.

Oh god damn it. I told him to put said officer down but he said not until questioning. I told him that unless he plans to kill the officer afterwards when we let her go they will find out what we were asking about thus can figure out what we are about. Ah now he's got it and putting her down....only to strip her shirt/bra off and drew a funny face there using her tits and stomach in it, then he pulled her pants down and wrote kiss my ass on her ass with a blank mask as a stamp. Oh god he even wrote it in using Novix venom. That stuff is even harder to get off then permanent marker and more akin to a tattoo that slowly fades away.

Ahah what an asshole.
>>
>>28500432
After that we linked with some nearby squads I sent one to retrieve my hidden stash and the other to make sure our guys make it out/keep an eye on the officer until pick up. Good thing these buggers have gotten used to this terrain. Still though I got to a lot to report and I am going to need to make it back as quickly as I can.

Aftermath Report:

A spy, apparently from a raider empire based in the mountains, attempted to infiltrate Camp Abaddon. During the course of capturing a death cultist, we caught wise to his infiltration due to a mix up with the paperwork.

After spying on him we saw him meeting with what we assume to be his replacement. Somehow the new individual caught wise to the squad moving in and retreated toward the woods, producing a whistle. A squad of raiders appeared; it seems the ones we chased up north were not the only ones in our territory. I have reprimanded our patrols for their laxity.

They produced weapons which were nonlethal in nature and evaded our patrols. They took the time to smear a form of venom on one of our people before retreating.

This is intolerable. They evaded our larger troop movements, attempted to infiltrate our camp and poisoned one of our people, essentially violating one of our female soldiers. They show no sign that these attacks will come to an end.

Yet another war is the last thing I want right now, but I'm sending this report to Kog with a simple emphasis: We must make it very clear that we are not to be fucked with.

I suggest Kog assist in the Hot Air Balloon project so that we can begin scouting their fortifications and holdings. If viable, we can invade and make the cost of their actions clear. If not, I suggest using the balloons to air drop fire pots on whatever equivalent to cities they have up there.

The worst of the seventh wave is over; most newbies are getting shipped out now. This is a good time for us to mobilize and take care of this before /b/ can make its annual move on Bastion, should it decide to do so.

Its been like a month.
Almighty we marched deep and some cultists have told us those bugger reinforcements have arrived. I told them if they knew to lie low and they said yeah. In fact one of them gave me a letter. Inside it stated the warband merely dispersed to nearby villages/towns all along the mountains edge. There if it was a village they built a little stone structure and if it was a town a larger barracks deal. Their avoiding our main bases until our forces can get updated for this terrain. Luckily said settlements are friendly to our forces. They serve as an excellent resting place for our forces and they get rotated regularly always into the mountains however can't let them get soft after all. They even said they had found some interesting ruins or good areas to set up a place that will interlink some of them so our forces can more easily deploy or have them retreat to these areas. Not enough manpower for that yet though. One day though. One day.

After that we had gotten ourselves quite deep we even hit the marsh....eh were going to need yet another base down here for that kind of terrain. Fuck me. Still though thanks to the cults we were able to zero in on several good choices. We will investigate it. Luckily all this time down here as got us well used to it all...except for the swamp. I think were going to stick with the jungle suggestions first.

Our scouting to the north was extremely successful. After a 5 week journey the scouts who went up north to find the Expat’s fabled stone city have returned with news of several major ruins.

They had initially followed the edge of the large lake to our north. At the northernmost edge of the lake there is a large “manor” style ruin. Lake front property for a famous Builder, or something to that effect. Room enough for several hundred people to live in the house itself, we could relocate some of our new population there and have a second location. While the lake front house sounded like a good location to establish another camp, their true objective is an even superior find.

After a few more days journey away from the river they located the base of the mountain. The major river that runs down south past Butterroot starts somewhere up in these mountains. The builders built a massive keep around this river with waterfalls cascading through the keep itself. Many sections of the keep are still secured and extremely sturdy after the centuries of vacancy. However, we will have some repairs to do should we relocate people here. The doors and windows nearest to the waterfalls have all rotted away and the humidity has several new foreign molds and plants growing in the buildings closest to the water.

While the Expat is away doing god knows what I will be sending small expeditions up there to begin setting it up for the next wave of population. I should be worried about how he knew of this place, but it is such an amazing find that I do not care. The mountain keep should be large enough to house several thousand people comfortably in stone rooms. Now, we just need to acquire ships that can move supplies up river towards the keep. I am not sure how happy Butterroot may be about us shipping things up river past them. We may have to set up a camp opposite us on the lake and carry them in from there.
