My people, to me! It is now the sacred time and again we tell the history of our people in keeping with ancient tradition.

In the past two years we have become conquerors. First the Jenestni were made to give up land bordering ours, from where we launched attacks against the Stag Hearths. After they were made to abandon their tula, we claimed their land and mounted attacks on the Greydogs. Now the Jenestini and Stag Hearths both offer us tribute.

We purchased two treasures, Vargast's Ring and Voriof's Flute, and acquired four more by slaying some weird foreigners. These are the Eye Mirror, the Godbone, the Red Leather Mask, and the Shimmering Cloak.

Dragon Pass is a large region, and certain omens suggest exploration will be profitable. Meanwhile, as our immediate problems become less problematic or dead, our clan leaders begin to think on the future, and the many benefits of tribal confederation.

Sorry for not playing yesterday, got home and didn't feel up to it.

We have just enough magic to put into everything, but if we do so we'll be left at zero. My suggestion is to not put any into mysteries, since the only sacrificing we'll be doing is to get Pathfinder for the year.

The Greydogs are coming to us with gifts. I think they're trying to convince us not to raid them and take all their land this Dark season.

>>28349872
This isn't a peace offer, just them not being dicks for once in their miserable lives. Raiding them after accepting could make us look bad, or make the gods upset with us.

The elves do have territory here and we can do elf-centered events if we explore their territory, but we can't attack them since they're not a tribe.

Tribe making happens after you've completed three separate heroquests, as well as the quest The Making of the Storm Tribe.

Our new Wind Spirit shrine. This is probably the ability we'll be using most. It'd be a lot more useful if we were an Orlanth worshiping clan, but Elmal's our bro.

It's now Fire season. We can go raiding, but perhaps we want to do more exploring. Kero Fin has more secrets, and there's plenty to be found in the northern reaches of Dragon Pass.

I've done insane risks several times previously, it's always ended poorly.

Funny that you mention anger, if we had Urox's Berserker blessing, a lot of these events would include the option of sending the character into a berserk rage. This is a double-edged sword as you'd expect, the Berserker blessing also passively increases the number of people wounded on your side.

Now we decide what to do with them.

1. Letting them go makes the Narri like us more,
2.Taking them as thralls we will not do since we're not thrall-takers
3. Sacrificing them can get us clan magic (but is kind of horrible and sometimes backfires) and
4. Ransoming them gets us five goods per person.

FYI, the Narri are to our Southwest, across the mountain.
>>
>>28350778

Are they close enough for us to claim their land should we choose to attack them sooner or later?

Enothea is one of our young new nobles, and an Odaylan. We've got two young ones, which is interesting since they're somewhat rare.

Ransoming is usually the best resolution for non-thrall taking clans. By the time you can capture auxiliaries you're generally strong enough that only people who hate you are raiding you, and you can get lots of goods for no further effort this way.
>>
>>28351144
I don't know the exact numbers, but I think nobles are stronger than weaponthanes, and weaponthanes are worth 5 footman, so she should be able to win, but she's a woman, so I'd still like to see her combat score. Ernalda: Bless Crops
Humakt: Truesword
Issaries: Silvertongue
Maran Gor: Earthblood

Gotta say, reading this series made me go back and read through the entirety of the Runic Men Saga. It's not quite the same because the pictures are only thumbnails now, but it's a rocking story regardless.

But as much fun as it is watching an avalanche roll uphill, seeing this new tribe struggle to make ends meet is just as compelling.
>>
>>28355434
I honestly enjoy this better. It feels like a more normal experience in going through the game.

Incidentally, what are sheep used for? I know pigs are for food, horses are for weaponthanes, and cows are your credit rating plus emergency rations, but what about sheep?
>>
>>28356519
I think they aid in trade.

Maybe making goods, too.
>>
I've been playing this game since I bought it from the GOG sale, I and think this is a good place to ask: How do I form a tribe? Some people in the thread have mentioned it, and I can see a few clans already in a tribe.
>>
>>28360387
You have to complete 3 seperate hero quests successfully, including one I can't remember the name of (forming of the storm tribe I think?) then you wait for this specific guy to come around and he starts the clan formation event.
>>
>>28356519
Sheep are sacrifices, and also are used as emergency food.

In the iOS version, pigs and sheep are all listed under cattle, since there wasn't much point to them in the first place.

>Focus on Lonisi
Lining up a caravan right now with more food. In the future, we might consider sending horses.

Who knows, let's keep making friends with them though. We need to get them friendly with us and allign, it'll make them less likely to allow Vostangi through their Tula at us.

"You have pretty eyes Barantdos."

What happens in the chieftain sauna, stay in the chieftain sauna.

But it can be better I bet! Let's focus on expanding our population and diplomacy for the next few years alright? Get friendly with the Tree Brothers, the Lonisi, and then the Rune Ducks.

King me! After far too long, we're officially hitting the game's midpoint. We'll bump up crafters first thing to take advantage of this.

>>28380763
We're as close as we can be to the ducks. We'll have to see if we can set up an alliance.
>>
>>28380794
Everything but children.

Let's send someone to get an alliance out of them then. Then we work on improving relations with Lonisi until we can get an alliance out of them, and then Tree Brothers.

Then we try the same for the Old owls and Mule Deer.

If we can, we make an AWESOME northern pass tribe. The strongest tribe!

Hail, Heort-Son.

You might want to do Orlanth & Aroka a third time, just so you can get the bloody bag of Winds. Best way to keep all these stead-burning wankers off your tula.

After that.... you have a surfeit of goods now. Send out a trade expedition once a year every year and buy every treasure you can. Treasure good, make clan stronk, much stronk.

As for shrines:

Temple of Humakt (Truesword + Battle Luck/Morale)
Temple of Orlanth (Rain + Lightning)
Shrine of Odayla (Tracking - it stacks with Vinga's Pathfinder and makes exploration even more rewarding)
Shrine of Urox (Sense Chaos because -fuck- the Broos)
