No Magical Girl is equal to her own Witch. Madoka cannot beat her own Witch form by herself.

However, Homura's wish to save Modoka is still in effect.

So, each cycle beyond the anime, Madoka continues to exist as a concept. And Madoka is saved from her own defeat by Homura bringing her Shield, and her Time Powers to Madoka

This is the brief moment when Homura and Madoka reunite. With the Shield, Madoka can tap into her increased power from the next Cycle, which is sufficient to allow defeat her Witch in this incarnation. Unfortunately, this takes both Madoka and Homura to yet another universe where the two must repeat the cycle again... a semi stable loop.

The "Wraiths" that Homura encounters are witch spawn from the universes in which Madoka previously failed to ascend & died, and as such where Madoka has no power.

Magical Girl Noir Quest takes place in a loop after which Homura has failed to deliver the shield to Madoka, resulting in Madoka having insuffient power to defeat her own witch, and resulting in the return of Witches to the universe.

Madoka`s witch wasn`t able to form because of Madoka`s wish that witches should not exist. But because of of size of her wish and the power it took to defeat Walpurgisnacht her Soulgem shoudl be draned and she should be a witch, except, like said befor,e he wish does prevent witches from existing.

This why Godoka came into existence. She is a being that by all means should be a witch yet is prevented by the laws of the universe to exist and this is also why Godoka cannot exist as Godoka. It's just better for her, and for everyone involved, that the both of you stop entertaining even the merest thought of being together. You already made that clear back in the coffeeshop, and you're not about to go back on everything that you said.

Pulling out your smartphone from your inventory with one hand and lifting your drink to finish it off with the other, you briefly consider just asking Ruri about Iori. That'd certainly be a hands-off approach, but...you did promise the idol that you'd still be friends with her. Friends are okay, you've got no problem with that.

Yeah, a message will be fine. She can reply to it whenever.

You tap out a brief message, asking her how she is, and apologizing for what happened last night. You tell her that you're okay yourself, you're just seeing Ruri off right now, and she doesn't need to reply if she doesn't want to. Just a heads-up if she's okay or not would be nice.

You place your smartphone on the bar's countertop, and hold your index finger over the SEND button. After a few moments, you press it, and a quiet beep announces that the deed is done.

You finally manage to let out the breath you've been holding, only to draw it back in again as you realize Ruri has been looking over your shoulder the entire time. Her lips very nearly brushing against yours when you turned to face her.

"Eh? Worried about Iori-chan?" The super idol blinks, grunting as you push her face away from yours with a firm hand. "Bwah, hey! From what I heard, she got back to 765 Productions alright. I had some of Kyojou-kun's guys escort them back too, just in case."

Ruri frowns here, before reaching out with a well-manicured hand and poking your forehead. "Because she's my friend, dummy! That's why I care! And while I love Magical Girls, I don't want people like Iori-chan getting into a relationship with one!" She shakes her head, drawing back. "Nothing personal, Chiaki-chan, but Iori-chan doesn't need that kind of grief. Yayoi-chan was enough--"

Ruri blinks as she's cut off suddenly by one of her own songs blasting out from somewhere - and she pulls out her smartphone. "O-oh! Please excuse me, Chiaki-chan, I won't be a moment!"

She slides off her stool and walks to one corner of the lounge, a bright smile on her face. Cheerfully and animatedly talking to whoever it was on the other end of the line. You watch her for a few moments, and you notice that the idol is already blushing. Like...well, like a schoolgirl. Obviously tickled pink by whatever her conversation partner's spouting.

Must be someone special, you think.

You let out a sigh, before refilling your own glass and starting the process of drinking it all over again.

The idol's right.

Iori doesn't deserve someone like you, nor the kind of grief you bring.

...Well, you already know that, anyway. You just need to make sure not to forget it.

With it still being early morning, the sun wasn't bearing down on everything just yet, and so both you and Ruri walked out to a chilly tarmac then. The faint sunlight glinting off the sleek body of Ruri's private jet - which, of course, is predictably decaled up to the fucking tailfins with its owner's image.

"Nice, isn't it?" Ruri grins, like a child showing off a favorite toy. "Got it after my first album went quintuple platinum!"

It's pretty nice, you agree. But did it really need the decals? It looks painful to ride in, really.

As you continue your approach approach, you spot Deepthroat doing her best to manhandle a particularly heavy-looking piece of luggage up the short flight of removable stairs leading up into the plane. Sayaka's helping out, but the assistant is staunchly refusing any offer of assistance from the Eversor. Her sweat already darkening the underarms and back of her light gray blouse.

Poor Noriko.

"Well, I guess this is it, Chiaki-chan!" The super idol pipes up again, stopping just shy of the first step of the stairs. She turns around to face you, smiling brightly. "I know you were really frustrated with me a whole lot during the past two days, and I bet you're still rustled, but I really had fun, and you're one of the only two people I felt really safe around!" She holds out her hand to you. "I'm really happy to have known you, Chiaki-chan!"

You're not too sure if that's anything to be jealous of, but whatever. It's also here that you ask her - with no small amount of difficulty - if she could stay friends with Iori. Be there for her when you can't. Keep an eye on her, and stuff.

Ruri blinks at this, before nods, her cheerful smile once more replaced with all seriousness. "Of course, chiaki-chan. You didn't even need to ask. You nod at this, swallowing painfully. That'd...be nice of her, yes.

"See? I can be more than just an annoying bitch, Chiaki-chan!" She gives your hand a squeeze, smiling, before finally letting go. Behind her, you can see Noriko looking at you from the top of the stairs, while Sayaka made her way down. You wave at the assistant, and she shyly waves back.

"Everything's set. Did one last sweep, no bombs or anything of the sort on board." Sayaka reports as she reaches both you and Ruri. She turns towards the idol. "Um, well, Ruri-san, it's been a pleasure--"

The Blueberry very nearly turned into a Strawberry, she was blushing that hard. "A-ah. Ruri-san, it was really nothing, and I...I've got no intention of stopping from being your fan..."

You let the idol and your Equerry say your final goodbyes as you light a cigarette, taking a long drag from it once it caught. A moment later, and it's here that you see Enishi running towards you, something clutched in her hands.

"Kirishima-san! Kirishima-san, please wait!" The Callidus Rank Leader calls, somehow managing not to trip and fall flat on her face, running in her kimono. She reaches the jet after a few moments, and takes another few to catch her breath.

"K-Kirishima-san, here's...um." Enishi gulps air, before straightening and holding out what looks like a jewelry box of some sort. Too big for a ring, but too small for a necklace. "My eldest sister sends her regards with this gift. She wanted me to give this to you personally, since she is unable to do it herself." She looks your way, before bowing. "Don't worry, Warmaster. I checked it out myself. It's clean, it's just a gift. And it came with my sister's personal seal, and I verified it myself with her."

Ah. Right. Sure, that's fine.

"Oh, is that right, Enishi-chan?" Ruri lets go of Sayaka to receive the gift. "Please send my thanks and my regards to your sister, uh..."

"Vintage, Kirishima-san." Enishi assists.

"Vintage-chan!" Ruri finishes brightly, before blinking. "Uh...Vintage? That's kind of a weird name, isn't it...?" She opens the gift box, and blinks. "W-whoa! This is....this is pretty weird! Cute, but weird!"

You blink down at the revealed gift. It's a jeweled hair brooch, silver with gold accents, and rubies for eyes - resting in a rich velvet inset. Its body is leaf-shaped, bulging out at the middle and terminating into small points on either end, and made up of segments. It's got small feet, and a pair of antenna curling up and back over its body.

...Yeah. It is a cockroach, all right. Weird.

"Oh, stop saying that! It's not a cockroach!" Ruri chides the both of you. "It looks more like a cute pillbug!" She delicately lifts it out of the box and sets it onto her hair. "How does it look?"

Like a big silver cockroach is shitting in her hair, you tell her. She pouts at you for this.

Sayaka merely goes a sickly green color and averts her eyes, clearly not at all at home with Ruri's new look.

"Actually, it's more of an isopod--" Enishi tries to point out, but it's here that Noriko calls meekly for Ruri, saying that they need to go.

"Oh, alright, I'll be there, Noriko!" Ruri replies, before turning back to you and your group. "Goodbye, Chiaki-chan, Enishi-chan, Sayaka-chan! Let's meet again sometime!" It's here that she hands you the brown manila envelope you gave her last night - your feedback form. "Here you go, with my compliments! Ah, don't look at it, just give it directly to Kyuubey!"
