Um.. Guys, I am back... ;_;

You are Otto Schulte a twelve year old girl on her way to destiny, you've spent a few entire days on a planet - the longest you've ever lingered on one in your life, right now you looking right at an Adept of Mars, hoping he won't scold you.

Last week we had food, meet the Tech Priests in the tower and goofed around.

Roll rules:

Lowest of first three rolls for things the character is skilled at doing.
Median of first three rolls for things the character is "capable" at.
Highest of first three rolls for things the character is utterly shit at.

You have to "beat" your stats (which for now are hidden by popular demand, this may change) so low rolls are good.

Cont post explained:[/spoiler]If there is a post marked at the end with "cont" its becouse your QM is lazy, and can't type fast - or becouse he wants to give you the option to jump into the current events, or offer opinions, if none are offered he'll continue as normal

Disclamer in regards to Re:Spelling: I suck at spelling big time, man - don't read this if bad spelling offends you.

The tech adepts regarded you with his human eye, its gaze unnerving, judging - as if looking over you not like an individual but rather some manner of equipment, trying to decide if you are worth keeping or if you should go into the manifactorum for repurposing. The mechanical side of his face remains impassive - the small collection of three green circles that rests where his eye ought to have been slowly whirring, lengthening or shortening at seemingly random intervals - adjusting themselves after a dance only the redclad priest knows. You feel your hearth in your chest, pulsating, did he see you..? Did he notice you tampering with the holo table..? Seconds stretch by, an unusual sense of silence fills the small chapel like workspace of the Mechanicus despite the throbbing of the pistons beating in the background, suddenly their constant beating, wheezing and clanging seemed distant - blinking you looked towards the Tech Priest, seeing the crown of cables hanging from the roof, the pipes flowing in an endless pattern. At last the air fills with static as the vox-caster embedded in the mans face stutters to life again.

"I've mended your slates spirit"

You feel yourself relaxing against your will - he had not seen, good - but more importantly, your slate, the pale white casing surrounding the small cognitator you've come to rely on for comfort since you left the void rested in his mechanical hand, bolts and reinforced metal plates polished to a black shine making up his knuckles, a small engraving on the top of each finger became visible for just a moment as the uncurled freeing your slate from his hands bondage and allowing you access.

You waste no time as you grab the slate again, feeling its reassuring weight in your hand, and unlike last time the even more plesant feeling of it reacting to your touch, a low hum and vibration flowing into your hand as the internal arcane workings came to life once more, its screen lighting up in that familiar green glow as letters slowly form before your eyes.

"T-thank you" you manage to get out as you lift your head to look into the eyes of the priest once again.

Explain that we were curious and couldn't help but want to examine the different things since we have been surrounded by machines our whole life but ask for his forgiveness for touching something that we most likely shouldn't have.

You steel yourself for a moment, there is no point in hiding it - you'd rather be upfront about what you did then have it weight you down later, with a sight you clenche your fists and turn to face him, deciding to be upfront and confess what you did. "I am sorry for touching the things.. I just wanted to look but I ended up awakening the holotable.." you gulp after blurting the entire thing out, your knuckles tightening around the dataslate, knowing full well that adults generally tend to be upset when you don't do as they tell you.. but, you don't like being dishonest, your aunty always told you only theifs and low-life lies, or tries to hide the truth. A split second drags on before the Adepts voxcaster awakens again, a moment of white noise coming forth as if tuning itself in before his dry mechanical tone answers your confession. "I know, the spirit spoke to me." he states "Not voidborn, yet the void lingers in your spirit, you spent your life on a ship - so you told me, its intresting, I could have you expelled for touching these things, a first year like you would be shoot."

At that you feel a sudden rush of bile in your mouth as memories resuface from the day before "Shot" - the weight of the acrused gun in your hand, the sound of cracking of laz fire, the image of the boy, his ashen face sullen the moments before it was deformed by the bolt of crackling energy, your grip tightens around the dataslate, trying to supress your sudden urge to flee and run - its inlogical, why are you so spooked? Its just a memory.. over, yet the mud, the sounds echoing in your head seems to not go away, you feel like your stuck in a spiral downwards untill you suddenly are snapped back into reality by the adept: "Yet, you awoke the spirit, not everyone can coax a holobord into life just by touching it.. they seem to like you, otto schulte - so I will let you go with a punishment instead."

"Yes, I know your name - I read your file" he states moving away towards the glowing cognitaor screens and sitting servitors dominating the left side of the room, seemingly unphased by your reaction - and indeed, the nature of your name, he clasps a hand over one of the servitors hard-wired into the lumbering and massive cognitator shoulder leaning over it to touch at a few of the buttons, uncarring as he uncermonially interrupts the work of the proud former imperial citizen. "My adepts are gone, tending the hydro-plant to the north" - his toiling continuing, hidden away behind the servitor, and you dare not comfirm what he's doing either way - but you remember Angelina speaking of there being "a big mechanicus place to the north" - why diden't she just say it was a hydro plant? Thats a water tending station, quite common on starships, planet borns sure don't know anything..

"I am as such, undermanned - two days from now you will come here after class and help me carry things" he states, not as an order, or urging but more as a fact.. you feel you don't really have a choice in the matter.. but..

You nod quickly, smiling as you realise being honest is in fact - the better option, its a bit annoying you'll have to come here after class and help move a bunch of things, but its not all diffrent from your work on the voidships as uncle Eriks special assistant, you wait for a moment, lingering around to see if the adept will turn around and adress you again - but no such luck as he continues to glare at the screens before him - the ocational sound of button impact the only real sign that he's not fallen asleep at his workdesk, you cough once, before clearing your throath - gaining no response from your enigmatic companion as you ask him "Will.. I need to bring anything..?" - the static fills the air for a moment before the adept replies "Negative" - once again you linger.. but knowing the nature of the adepts you presume he's finished with you. Slate in hand you head towards the doors again, exiting out the familiar smell of oil and sacred innsence for the.. stinging smell of planet - you'd never get use to the way it seemd to tickle your nose, nor the way it always seemd to get in your eyes. Turning an eye towards the bottom of your slates screen you are informed of the time, 20.00 Imperial, 01.40 Besvir alongside of an imperal proverb- the sky dark, familiar stars gleaming above - the only differance from a view port on a vessel of the void the big discs of light representing the planets several moons.

Poundering for a moment of what to do you decide to head towards Angelina - remembering her room number from earlier in the lesson, house four - bordering your own fifth house, and room 240, second floor - room fourthy, ought to be simple enough to find - everything going well, with a certain spring in your step you cross the large familiar square of the schools center - passing by the statue of the Emperor, several people where still outside, moving between the houses.

You notice a few second years, remembering what Angelina told you about the uniforms setting you apart - their cuffs having another line, unlike the single stripe of yours, it goes to three - after that you get a special uniform depending on which courses you're assigned, you've not really got a lot of knowledge about that.. and so far you've only seen people with your type of uniform, not even Angelina knows why that is - perhaps the older kids have not arrived yet? Smiling for yourself as you being humming one of the blessings of good function you stuff the slate into your inner pocket again where it belongs, and being the final approach on house four, your steel-tipped shoes hitting the ground with a reliable "donk", acceding the outer stairs you are greeted with the insides of house four.

Its similar to house five, where you sleep - but slightly different in the layout - more open for starters, and the smell is different - less the smell of cleaning agents and more that off.. well, you can't quite place it. Its unfamiliar, and not strong enough to be intruding. You notice a pair of girls sitting in a sofa deeper in the corridor leading straight ahead - but you pay them no heed as you turn right to the left, and up the staircase. The upper levels are similar, a central corridor leading straight a head, splitting into a cross, allowing access to each block of rooms. It takes you a moment to locate room fourthly, but its not hard - following the upwards flowing numbers. But you notice her door is slightly ajar - and from inside you hear the sound of girls talking.

A sly feeling creeping across your skin you linger for just a moment, you diden't really intend to listen in - I mean, you where just gathering yourself for knocking, nothing wrong with that of course. As you raise your hand to knock - poundering for a moment how to do so without actually knocking in the slightly ajar door you hear the voices from inside more clearly a young sounding girl you don't quite recognise the voice off talking "Then, I got covered in all the food! The electro-men are so useless, can't even serve up food properly!" - moments later - you can make out Angelina replying "Its servitor - remember that, if the teacher hears you use native slang he might punish you, you know that right Juliet?" "Yes yes, its not like there is anyone standing outside the door!"

You knock at the door at that, calling out to your friend.

"Oh, schulte! Come in, did you get the slate in order already? Need those notes from the lessons?" stepping inside you are meet by a very similar sight to your own dorm, actually - its almost identical, two beds, the same picture of a man on the wall in the corridor, the same black boxes on the dressers next to the bed serving as an alarm. Stepping inside, your heavy iron boots hitting the floor with a low muffled thud each time you take a step, as if heralding your approch to any that would listen. "Yes, but I've got to help him out two days from now moving things.." you say.

"Really? Don't they do things like that for free..?" Angelina answers. Stepping into the room proper you are greeted with the familiar sight of Angelina standing up over by the windows - and a younger looking girl sitting on the bed, looking at you wide eyed, brushing hand through your short-cut red hair you smile before beginning to recount the tails of the trip to the Adept...

"...And thats why I've got to work with him" you finish, having seated yourself on the bed next to your friend, across the room Juliet sits, still regarding the two of you silently, "Really Schulte, you should be more carefull - you sure have a knack for getting into trouble!" your friend remarks, stretching towards the roof, noting on the black box that about twenty minutes have passed, it was getting late.. "Its not my fault that you planet borns have mold everywhere, besides it worked out just fine did it not?" Angelina giggles at this, before giving you a dismisiv wave "This time sure, but you can't keep blaming your strange luck on mold can you?"

"Untill you clean it up, I can" you tell her, a dead serious look on your face - Angelina keeps telling you there is no planet mold - but its to logical to pass up, its not suprising your friend, a planetborn, don't know about it - you'll get to the bottom of it, eventually, you silent vow. "Either way, Schulte - this is Juliet - my roomate, she's in pree-schola teaching" Angelina says, and you turn to greet her - giving her a nod before introducing yourself: "I am schulte, Rangers talent - via dominatus" - deciding to cut it down for the planetborns benifit. She cocks her head at you before answering: "Juliet Cramilton, daughter of Tim Cramilton - I hail from Bertam, blessed be its soil"

.. She talks strange.

Also, at some point ask Angelina why this building is so different from hers so we can casually mention that we re in building 5

"Nice to meet you. What's with the language?" you state, looking at the girl - you where used to slang, hell you could even talk a few of the lower deck ones from the rangers talent yourself, even if you've not really got to use it recently, so your used to strange sounding people.. but her gothic was perfect - its just the words.. they seemed off - she was noting down her parents at least, and knew how to properly look at someone when going through your origin (something these silly planetborns never got) looking her over, she's short - a bit shorter then you, and have a stark raven black haircut - short, like your own and everyone else you've meet so far. Her face is a bit parch - like she's not gotten enough water recently.. and her uniform have no stripe on it, probably because of that pre-schola thing.

"What does thy mean?" she asks you, and you shake your head - assuming its just another planet thing, instead you decide to change the subject before she gets a chance to reply: "How did you get here Juliet? - What happened to your parents?" - you've realized that most where like you here, no parents - few of them seems to have know theirs like Angelina, and her strange "lady" past - but many are like you, never had the opportunity, or don't remember. "Mine Father lost his life in the holy war for the Emperor" she states firmly "And mine burden-keeper was lost when she bore me to terms, I came here to avenge them both!" you recount your own tales for her - about your life onboard a starship, amused over her typical reaction of "Don't that feel enclosed?" - silly planetborns, before you continue the conversation again: "So, how do you like the Schola so far?" "Mine brethren are strong, I enjoy the challenge of this lecture hall - and I long to earn the right for a stripe on my arm!" she states, smiling at you broadly.

Yep, probably planet mold.

You continue the conversation - imploring about Juliets life in the scholia - if she's made any friends and how her classes have been going. "My brethren and I are lectured by the electo-" she looks at the disapproving look Angelina gives her for a moment before correcting herself "by the servitors in battleprepearing exercises, like strategic and physical education, as for friends? I stand with my brethren!" she exclaims, again using that odd.. language. She's strange, but you don't mind her as much as some of the other planetborns, like the double heretic. "So schulte, here's the data - just hook it up..." the two of you lingering over the two dataslates - your bright white one, and Angelinas much darker version, coaxing the spirits within to talk with the uncerominal tapping and clicking of those uninitiated into the inner workings of the Mechanicus. While the two devices linger, completing their task angelina casually asks you: "Have you meet your mysterious roomate yet then Schulte?"

"No" you reply, "I've not seen him, or much of anyone - on that subject, your house is sort of diffrent from house five, its much spacier" both Juliet and Angelina turns to look at you, their faces impassive for a moment before Angelina manages to get out a ".. Did you just say house five schulte..?"

Question: Do you track things that are going on in the sector at large? Like will things we don't even see effect the running of the school.

On a side note I love the drawfag art.

You should also keep up with the drawing the maps. I thought it was straight to the point and thats okay. Hell, the text made me laught quite a bit.

>>27956377
I really wish I could, but my exams are this wednesday, and turns out teaching 18 year olds history is harder then it looks.

But, I've been thinking of some stuff regarding the timeskips: Would you guys enjoy getting a diary-like update on what Schulte does when she's not in threads? Say I skip a head a week due to nothing intresting happening - you could still get things like: "Today I ran into Angelina, we had breakfast togheter and then I studied high gothic, also I saw lak, and gave him a evil glare" sort of deal? And if so, would you want it from the twitter, or dumped at the start of the thread?
>>
>>27956446
Hmmm, sure. Even moving at real-time the pace would be really slow, so it should be fine. Though obviously, if you leave it on cliffhangers like today, it's a no-go.
>>
>>27956446
I would love that sort of update and I think doing it at the start of the thread would be better.
>>
>>27956446
Sure that would be fine. We need to kick Nikobarr's ass a few more times though. Can't have that heretic getting uppity.
>>
>>27956445
>Question: Do you track things that are going on in the se....

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer: There are several things going on at once, and since this is taking place 922.M41, you might know some of them - I generally won't fondle around with the offical fluff - but big things happening there might affect tiny besvir. Either way, there is a lot of rumblings going on - some which you've seen the start off, some which you've not. But its ongoing.

>>27956482
Generally speaking we only skip a-head if there is nothing happening untill I think the next interesting thing might occour - highlights would be things like this, and helping the Tech Priest move stuff. Then the next weeks practical (They are on a weekly basis, incase I never mentioned that in quest.)
