Teddie's eager squeal shows that he does, and the Shadow's snort doesn't hide the fact that he's standing up to go over to you.

You toss the books over to the Shadow as everyone else starts to snack, talking about the various happenings they've had.


After about ten minutes, the food's gone, and everyone is ready to go.

"...Think there's anywhere else we could go to train?" You ask, looking at the door to Yosuke's dungeon oddly. "Those Shadows are getting kinda... Stale to fight."

This gets a nod from Chie, but a sigh from your Shadow.

"That damn thing is still out there, you know."He says, pointing over at the side.

...There is the Reaper to consider....

"But, I remember passing by a place that looked like one a while back." He continues. "Was out doing a quick scrounge, found this creepy apartment complex. Definitely had some bad mojo in it."

"...Was this recently?" You ask, giving him an odd look.

"On the way to here that day." He shakes his head.

... Looking over the edge, you try to see if there's another access route to the platform...


There. A tall ladder, leading down to a lower platform, with a ladder leading further down on it. Looks like a network of them would put you on the ground...

As an aside, has the Velvet Room opened up again at any point over the last week? I mean, we don't have anything to fuse yet, but if we went to talk to Igor we could at least figure out how to get more usable cards. And figure out what's up with our different "sea of souls" line we hear.

Not much. Naoto you can reverse with dialogue choices, Rise you can reverse if you're in a relationship with her and another character at the same time (and the other girl will reverse with her). Oh, and I think Ai can be reversed with dialogue, too, I forgot about her. All it does is negate the benefits of the S-Link until you spend three time periods of interaction patching it up. I think having Rise reversed increases the encounter rate for hard enemies, too.

"Y-y-you!"The sputtering she's doing and blush she's sporting show that it's getting a reaction alright.

Annndd the punch to your shoulder says it's not a very happy one.

"Is that how you show affection?" You ask, grinning and rubbing your shoulder.

"You're a jerk, you know ." She says, glaring at you after another moment of blushing.


"I've been called that."

That gets a sigh.

"Yeah, yeah." She shakes her head. "Anyway, we didn't find anything here. Back to the others?"

Why would we say that, from an in-character perspective? Yu doesn't know about any world-saving or apocalyptic events. All he knows is that the events in Tatsumi Port City had something to do with Apathy Syndrome, and that various groups were trying to manipulate it to their own ends. He doesn't know about Nyx or Nyarlathotep or YHVH or any of the other horrible things in the world of SMT. He knows bad shit has happened with the supernatural before, but he has no indication it's anything truly terrifying.

I disagree. He knows big shit happened at least 10 years ago and Igor lost his shit over the mention of JOKER. I think it's a bit of a leap to go straight to the apocalypse, though. Magic can be really bad without it being apocalyptic. I mean, Apathy Syndrome was bad, but it was a pretty localized problem. And Igor hinted that the big shit ten years ago was Philemon being lost, so that's something unconnected to Yu's world. He doesn't know how big a deal Philemon was. Yu might wonder about how big the supernatural world is, how often it interacts with the normal world, and what criteria Igor uses to pick his troubleshooters, but he wouldn't escalate immediately to "the world is on the brink of annihilation and all that stands in its way is a bunch of teenagers, we're all going to die". Let's wait for Igor to give us more details, then we can get paranoid about the possible doom of mankind.

"Ah, I trust you will find the newly improved Velvet Room to your pleasure?" Igor's voice comes from the front of the car. His tone seems... Giddy. "It was most certainly worth the wait."

He's there, the table's there, and Margaret is there.

At least something hasn't changed.

"Yeah, it looks nice." You say, making your way to the usual seat. "I take it this is a result of the power well you mentioned?"

"Oh yes." Igor's grin seems to widen immensely. "It is proving to be QUITE fruitful, and the side effect of it is most useful."

...You have a feeling he won't tell you what either of those is.

"Alright. I have some questions for you." You shake your head. "First up, I've been talking to someone who's dealt with other Persona users before. She's been telling me that what I've heard when I awaken a Persona is not what others have heard."

Igor nods.

"That would be because you, Yu Narukami, are a special case." He says, placing his hand over the table for a moment. When he moves it, a single card is sitting there, face down. A snap of his fingers, and it turns back over, revealing -

The Fool.

"Your primary Arcana to which you are attuned is the Fool." He continues. "Adding that to a special... Circumstance that surrounds you, and there should be no surprise that the message Persona imbue upon you should be different."

"It appears that whatever has granted him that power has also blocked him from my senses. Finding him is something only possible through investigation, it seems." Igor says, holding his hand out to Margaret. "However, I feel that you deserve a reward for eliminating such a pest, and in the Realm of Man, no less. Margaret, if you would please?"

The woman nods, a bonewhite card appearing in her hand. Opening the book by her side, she holds the card above a page, before handing it to you.

...A glance shows that it's not what you'd expect. Three wands are on the face of it, and you get a feeling of cheerfulness as you look at it.

"That card contains power of the suit of Wands." Margaret's voice snaps you from your thoughts. "What it becomes is in your hands."

...The card seems to fade into you, vanishing.

"Now." Igor interrupts, looking at you. "I shall assume you wish to know why Miss Arisato is using a tool to assist her summoning?"

...You didn't mention her name to him, did you?

"Oh, I have knowledge of Miss Arisato from a previous incident which I observed." He continues, obviously catching your confusion. "Though my knowledge of her is secondhand."

Dozed off in my chair with that monster update half-written. Woke up about 30 minutes ago and slapped it the rest of the way together.

Gonna crash for real, but expect me to try to continue if this is still alive when I wake up, and failing that, a new thread on the weekend at the latest.

I seriously am in the "missing basic things like the space between bone and white" zone at the moment. Which happens to be the best zone to write in, but the lowest quality zone.

Ask Igor what kind of technology works in the TV World? For example, if a digital camera doesn't work, what about older-style cameras? Being able to record information from the TV World may prove to be important.

What's really important though, is the fact that our members have no means of communication inside the TV World. That effectively makes splitting up very unpractical, putting aside how wise it may be at the moment. So if something like an old radio or walkie-talkie works, we need to know that.

Ask about why the dungeons layout seems to change, and if there's any features that don't?

We could ask about the difference between an artificial and true Persona.

"A previous employee of this room..." Margaret says catching your attention. "And my little sister."

"Well, hearing about it got me interested. How do I go about fusing Persona?" You continue, turning to face Igor now. "And... What would happen if I fused a persona of mine with someone else's?"

Igor's expression lights up.

"When you have obtained an additional Persona, you should merely bring it to me, and allow me to demonstrate the ritual in which Persona are fused," He says, clasping his hands in front of his face again. "As for your other question... It truly depends upon the circumstances."

"The only case I know of was during extraordinary circumstances, and ended with one party fully revived, and the other nearly dead, missing many memories vital to her and her own Persona." He continues, shaking his head. "It truly depends upon the situation. A wild card could -potentially- fuse a Persona to another's with no effect to themself, but that is all speculation on my part."

...Very useful to know.

"How do I summon additional Persona, then?" You ask. "I have that reversed Fool card, and heard a voice from it. Do I just try to trigger it like Izanagi, or what? Because I tried that."

"Your incompatibility with that arcana is what prevents you from summoning it." He says after a moment. "Do not attempt to summon a Persona of a reversed arcana again, lest such issues cause more harm than they are worth."

"No calling up mirror personalities of myself or allies, then." You get a nod from Igor, and he gestures for you to continue. "There's a friend of mine who hasn't been able to summon a Persona, even though he's had one of those Shadow-mask cards for almost a week. Any ideas why? "

Igor seems to be thinking again...

"Perhaps it is because he has not been in a situation that is life-or-death." He says. "Many who are aided in their manifestation require such an incident to fully awaken."

You file that away. Come to think of it, you awakened your Persona when fighting against Yosuke's Shadow, and Yukiko against that fake Shadow Chie...

"Can wild cards trade Persona? And how would I get a new one, anyway?" You ask after a second's thought. "That sort of thing is important to know."

"Ahhh... Traditionally, one would bring items gained from fallen Shadows to a certain denizen of this room, or I would call them up from the person's soul." Igor's smile returns in full. "However, you should be able to manifest additional Persona from those bone cards that you seem to have a source for. Merely attune one to an appropriate arcana, and it should manifest suitably."

"And the trading?"

"...Provided the wild card in question is compatible with the Persona's arcana, there should be no issues." He seems reluctant to speak about it. "It would be best if I observed the proceedure, though, to ensure it runs smoothly."

...Well then.

"I take it this means you can support more wild cards now?" You ask. "Any other advice you can give for this case?"
