>Stick to Training
>Be civil with Bryan.

With some steady breathes, and a little support from Marine, you work out most of your anger and let yourself back into the water. Diving underneath, you swim over to the gym's pier to find Bryan has taken a seat at, letting his tail dangle into the water.

Leaping from the water, you clamber onto the edge of the pier and pull yourself up, albeit a bit clumsily, and sit beside the pinkish boy.
"Hey, umm.. I'm sorry if I seemed a bit bothered by you beating me. It's just been kind of hard lately. I thought I'd be better than I am, and I'm not. I guess I'm just not as great as some people think I am, or I'm really just some kind of loser. I don't know. But, uhhh... What about you? You're really strong, how'd you even do something like that?" You pause, expecting a response.

After a moment, you begin to feel like he's ignoring you, and then he seems to start nodding. Though, with a look into his eye, you see that he's fallen asleep.
Instead of feeling embittered though, you try to follow your mom's words. Reply violence with kindness. He's not being malicious anyway, right?
Seeing how relaxed he is, you kind of get a relaxed feeling too.

Before you know it, you fall asleep upon his shoulder, while the others train, even drooling a little bit.

After that day, whether he listened or not, Bryan seemed to give you tips here and there for your training, he'd even speak to you about what training with the Saffron Espers is like, yet most of his accounts are about how much they love to laugh.
He still seems like a pretty nice guy, and he seems to be earnest more than anything else despite being slow.

Focusing on training, you begin to do better, starting to show some mastery over cold, much to Misty's surprise, and even increasing the force of your watergun to match Marine's.

Everything is definitely starting to look up.

You met another boy by the name of Oliver. Strange one actually. His skin is nearly transparent, showing his veins and muscle-work, and he bears a tail cascading from his rear to act as a fin of some sort. A gloomy mood follows him everywhere, and he seems to hate touching anything directly, retracting his hands at even the offer of a handshake.
"Ah, sorry. Sorry, but my skin is so thin. So thin. I don't think it'd be, um. Uh, smart. Yes, smart to do so. It could tear at any moment after all.... You, you're the one that can use ice around here, yes?"

Surprised by his strange speech patterns, you're a touch taken aback...

"So, Mr. Squishy. How about a spar? Or are you not the fighting type?" You tease the strange boy some, his eyes glance away from you as he considers this for a moment.
"I am not direct, and neither are you. We both used ranged attacks. I've seen it. I would like to see how this unfolds."

The boy nods his heads and he looks over at the gym's partitioned part of the lake," Will we start on land, or in the water? You seem... More comfortable in the water, yes?"
His eyes scan over you, starting from your feet, and ending at your horn.

You stretch about in your gym-issued swimsuit, a more tasteful adaptation of Misty's own halter-cut. Your pristine white flesh catching some of the mid-noon light.

It's your call. You may hold some advantage over him depending on where you start. This may be important for engagements in the field...

Oliver seems to trip over his own two feet as he aims to leap back into the water, the sandy shore impeding what would have been a deft leap.

Your tap into the power of your strange horn and summon forth an icy wind that tears past him, forming frost over the mucus membrane of his skin. You see him wince in pain from the buffeting wind, and for a moment, you believe initiative is yours- until he whips out a powerful Water Gun attack, at the sand before you, scattering it everywhere in a powerful display, sand getting into your eyes...
(Accuracy reduced -2 to rolls this combat unless cleansed.)

Holding your breath within the lake, you feel your nostrils plug themselves closed, though a little late, the taken on water chokes you a bit before you make your next move, disrupting your focus with your horn.

From afar, as you begin choking a bit, you see a stream of bubble crowding your vision as they make impact upon you, snapping against your flesh with a series of painful pops. It almost feels like the flesh is being cleaved from your body despite your layer of blubber.

The air escapes your mouth at the damage, and you feel the next breath you take fill you with noting but water, the choking feeling locks up within your lungs, and you begin thrashing, gasping for air as your vision begins to go black.

You feel a set of hands grab you and pull you from the waters.
A hard pound later, and a pair of lips upon your moth, delivering the sweet taste of oxygen back into your lungs, you awaken with a wet cough as Oliver brings himself off of you, wiping off his mouth.
"Learned CPR, Misty said I should do it. You feel weird..." He pauses for a moment, looking away and off somewhere else,"Glad you're okay though, you did a good job, hit me good for the first part. I got lucky that you choked. Seems you you'll be okay."

He looks down to you, the eerie look of his veins breaching his skin is unnerving.

You're being depressed.

Remember, he was a senior cadet. We rolled a 20 against him but we didn't instantly defeat him probably because he's got better physical abilities (hence his large modifier).

He rolled a 20 against us and we rolled a 1, so he instantly got us to choke.

"Thank you.." You mumble beneath your breath, some residual water dribbling out of your mouth, that you wipe with your arm in embarrassment.
"Spar again?"

Oliver wipes some blood pooling by his lip, shifting his jaws some before offering you a shaky hand, an obviously difficult thing for him.
"Ah, yes. Yes. We can go again another time. You'll only learn by practice."

"He's right, and its better that you learn from mistakes such as these under supervision rather than on the field. No need to worry Cerulean. Just rest up now, it's nothing to worry about." Misty puts one of her hands upon your head, ruffling up your air some.

You breath out a gentle sigh and take your leader's words to heart. Or at least, you try, as you give them a hesitant smile and take Oliver's hand, feeling him pull you up despite his slight muscles. He pulls away right after and seems to nurse his flesh for a moment, seeming almost as though he's been stung.
"Oh, and what could I do better?" You ask, yet he seems all too distracted as he recedes.
"Sorry, I'm sorry. Please don't mind me. I , ah, must be going. Need to patch up. Thin skin, very thin, you know." He's away in an instant, and you're only left with lingering feelings of doubting your own self worth.

In character, we have to think about why we were acting coldly against them.

At first, it was not because we felt inferior. So why? Was it ambition? Seems likely. Right now we're feeling quite low, so reasons for why we would talk to them again would be.....perhaps because we felt lonely? Pursuing our ambition doesn't seem to have born any fruit, so maybe we regret ignoring them? That's just one reason, though. Many more can be made up.

>>27858583

...I don't want to criticize, but you should probably recheck your priorities.
>>
>>27858792
Were you at least working on it while you read through this thread?

I can write like a motherfucker. Gonna pull an all nighter. Got that shit outlined to. Been doing this since highschool.

Thanks for the concern though

With a bit of your own gloom, you sit at the edge of the water, watching the goldeen sisters thrash about in the water, even leaping out with a most beautiful display as the light cast off from their bodies sparkles in the cascade.
Taking mental notes, you begin to see how exactly they fight with their horns and own versions of such "play."

The sister with the horn upon her crown tends to charge in after unleashing a short stream of bubbles to irritate the vision of the other before driving in home for what would be a puncturing attack. Her sister slides a hand across her face to divert the one's charge, yet the tackle carries through.

You feel like you've learned something about this simple move...

>Horn attack> Horn Tackle(2): Even if the horn is parried, you throw your whole weight to drive the blow, causing damage even without clear success.

You smile at that, feeling your mood lighten a bit.

You feel a shadow over you, and then a familiar presence plop herself right beside you.
Marine has changed quite a bit... He shell armor has hardened into a fierce external armor, breaking only at the joints. Her hair has begun to lose its old red, color, being replaced by her coming in roots that bear a deep sea-blue color. Her shell and tail though remain red.

"It's been a bit Cerulean. How are you?" Her voice is giddy as ever, despite your vain focus upon training,
>>
"Leave me alone, I know you don't like me. You don't have to make yourself sit with a loser... It's alright." You whisper out with a sad smile, feeling sorry for yourself. Sorry that you're such a horrible cadet, and sorry that- you feel a hard pinch upon your cheek,
You feel your head get pulled to turn and your eyes meet the glare of Marine, whom is quite displeased with you.
"You think, I think, that you're a loser? Where'd you get that from, Ceru?"
You begin to pull away and back to your making until her other hand reaches across and snatches that cheek as well, pulling them apart, leaving your moth a wide gap.

"Ah hahh , ro, irea, err.." You gurgle out before she lets go.

"Same here, so lets just be friends like before. I'm sure Aqua would agree. We miss Cerulean. She's good for more than just looking alone a lot of the time after all."

You blush at that, feeling your lip quiver, as you begin to nod,"I'm sorry..."

Marine slips an arm over your shoulder, her hard shell none to soft against your flesh,"Don't be sorry, come here."

The two of you share a warm hug. It's good to have friends.

Quick question, does anyone mind these images I've been posting?

I've been doing my best to make it not just an image dump, but just adding it onto posts I've already made, but I'm not sure if I'm distracting people or not.
>>
>>27858872
Yes, 4chan doesn't have spellcheck too. And proofreading is best done with a clear mind. It is kinda the logic in the creative.

Well I'm off cya tomorrow
>>
>>27858895
Do images make a thread reach autosage faster? If not, it's not that bad.

So has she become part Wartortle now, or is it just that her body has fully integrated the graft?
>>
>>27858911
No, but there is a limit to how many images per thread
>>
>>27858895

The realistic/dark pokemon pics add to the mood, I think. Though I'm just the QM.

Oh.

>Save Game

We're doing that now.
Hardcore mode, death deletes saves.

>>27858918
Fully integrated. She's still a ways off. The shell had to grow from her body. I'll mention a fluffy red tail should she evolve.
>>
>>27858861
Thanks for running!

>>27858895
Nah keep it up its nice to see something every time I refresh
>>
>>27858918

Quick question, is Bruise Lee part Machop, and Grumpy part Abra?

I've been trying to limit it to pokemon we've encountered in graft form and their evolutionary line (as well as Paras, since we looked up that entry specifically)
>>
>>27858962

Yes.

Welp, looks like I prematurely posted those Drowzee and Hypno pictures.

Ah well, can't be helped.

What's with them both being yellow and brown, anyway?
>>
>>27859024
Abra is yellow, I thought Machop was blueish but whatever.
