Seconds ago, you repelled an ambush by the Cadian 203rd Regiment, lead by Major Miranda Nero, whom you believed to be a newfound ally in your mission for the Emperor.

While you had to disable this assault by force, thanks to you and your squad's Stand abilities, you were able to disable the attacking Cadians without endangering their lives.

You truly are not enemies, after all. This is one big misunderstanding if you've ever seen any, and it was time to sort it out.

You approach the 'husk' that is Major Mira, her eyes seemingly lifeless and devoid of any emotion other than despair. For a moment, you think Macha's intervention was perhaps too harsh...but you're still thankful for the Farseer giving you the opening to disable your assailants.

You kneel besides Major Mira, and whisper softly:

>"We really are not your enemies, Mira."
>"Do you believe us now? That we work for the Emperor himself?"
>"Are you all right, Major?"
>"Do you require assistance?"
>Have another member of your party rouse her.

You conclude that it would probably not be in your best interest to confront Mira yourself. After all, just a moment ago, she believed you to be an 'enemy'...whomever the 'enemy' might be.

Turning your head back, you notice that Zola had finished checking Yuu'yan's wound (or lack thereof). With your eyes, you tell her everything she needs to know. She walks towards where the Major is, and gets to work.

"Major Mira...we really are not your enemies. We are here to help Captain Titus. It is our duty." The young lass says, without wasting a single breath.

"Lies..." came from beneath Mira's abated breath. "You must be...lying..."

"We are not." Zola refutes immediately, extending her hand towards the broken Major. "My friends...squadmates, they have unique 'abilities' which can make the impossible possible. If anyone can rescue Captain Titus, it's them."

"That Xenos witch..."

Zola smiles wearily. "Another person with the same kind of ability as them, and another person asked by the Emperor to help Captain Titus."

Mira raises her gaze and trains it directly into Zola's eyes. You could swear from here to see the start of tears reflected in Mira's brown orbs.

"How could that be...?"

Zola shrugs lightheartedly and places a hand on the Major's shoulder. "Our most divine excellency works in the most mysterious of ways, does he not? We do not know of his plans for us, we just follow his orders."

"So you're saying...you've truly spoken with the Emperor?"

Zola shakes her head. "Not me. But he has." She points her thumb at you. "It seems our Lord has the same ability, as well...and as such, he can communicate with those who have said power. That includes Joachim here."

Mira casts her gaze, once again, downwards. "A power that can knock out a squadron of Cadian troopers without even coming to touch them...are you truly not agents from Chaos?!"

>>
>>27819013

Zola kneels besides the agonizing Major, who finds herself at a crossroads. "No. These guys are too good for something like that. They can save him. They WILL save him."

Mira closes her eyes, deep in thought. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale, Inhale, exhale.

That she does for what feels like an eternity.

Finally, she stands up again, and when she opens her eyes, resolve replaces the previous despair.

"I'll just have to believe you. For now. So for now, ask me any questions you might have."

Now we're getting somewhere.

"Major." You approach the woman. A few minutes ago, she was but a shadow of her former self, but now, she seemed once again like the confident, commandeering woman you were impressed by when you two met. "tell me more about this rescue plan of yours."

At your question, Mira seems to drop her confidence again.

"Interrupt the execution, make sure to liberate the Captain from whatever shackles might impede his movement, and act as a human shield to cover the Captain's escape."

...That did not sound like a plan at all.

"Mira, that sounds more like a suicide mission and less like a rescue." You retort dryly.

"There's nothing else we can do! We know next to nothing about how the execution will take place!"

"Certainly, if you are going to set a plan in motion", you refute, "you have to have at least a little bit of information."

"I would like to hear about that information Sir Drossel imparted you, Major."

Mira furrows her brow before she starts talking: "Two things, and these are just things he dropped casually during the conversation. First: the executioner has already been appointed, and it's that dastard...Leandros Lorriandr."

Venom drips from that name. Whomever it was, Mira hated him. A lot.

"..The second piece of information I managed to glean from our conversation was simple enough. Through the duration of the ceremony, Captain Titus will be allowed to wear his 「Power Armor」. Something about it letting him die with the honorable regalia of the Chapter like a true Marine...but those dogs of the Inquisition stripped him bare of his exalted name."

「Executioner」 and 「Power Armor」. While the first piece of information might not prove to be that important, the second one could turn out to be very valuable.

"Major...regarding that Astartes...Levant Drossel. May I ask what is your relation to them?"

Granted, I haven't played the game, so I don't know how canon it is. Blanks aren't the only people with Chaos-resistance - Grey Knights get that too (though that's because they're speshul) and ironclad belief in something appears to also give a certain amount of resistance to the Warp. So Titus might just be so hardcore and determined that Chaos can't corrupt him. Besides, he seems to be missing some of the other signs of a Blank.

I like to think that Titus is just so firm in his belief that he is resistant to Chaos. Unlike a lot of men who mouth the words but do not carry the truth in their hearts, Captain Titus /knows/ that the Emprah protects, and so does it become his shield. If Leandros hadn't decided to be a Codex-brainwashed moron at the end of the game he'd probably end up in the Deathwatch with a specialization in Orks. He'd normally end up in the Ordo Malleus except they only employ Grey Knights.

"Major Mira. I'm certain you must know how incredibly risky and ineffective rushing in blindly would be considering that there will certainly be extremely fortified defenses in the execution grounds. I trust you have an alternate course of action?"

"We don't, Joestar." Mira responds flatly.

"But your main plan is entirely suicidal!" You argue.

"....The Cadian 203rd", Mira rubs her right arm with her left hand "are dead men walking. Had it not been for Captain Titus, we'd have not survived Graia. We owe him a debt of life, pure and simple, and we intend to do everything to repay it. The cost to repay that debt...simply does not matter."

You are moved by Mira's words, however, you decide to present a third option.

"Major Mira, allow me and my comrades to take all the blame."

"...I'm afraid I'm not following, Joestar."

"As your original plan would certainly mark the 203rd for death and forever drag its name in mud...we, the 「Last Battlers」 had our Regiment slain on accusations of heresy. WE are the dead men walking. We are the ones marked for death. Leave the 'rescue' to us, just deny any and all accusations that this was a cooperative effort between the 203rd and us!"

"Joestar..." Mira muttered apprehensively, "are you certain? If you were to do such a thing..."

"Major, why was the Astartes seeking you out?"

Mira visibly flinched. "It was...a warning."

"A warning?"

"Yes...Sir Drossel told me...that there were people aware of our plan to save Captain Titus, and to watch ourselves. He seemed...supportive of our endeavors, but ultimately advised to exercise caution."

That was quite worrisome.

Security is going to be incredibly high if they are actually expecting a rescue attempt.

Things are getting even more complicated.

"What did you think of him?" you ask Mira. "As in, Sir Drossel."

"...There is one thing that struck me as odd..." Mira recounts.

"Which is?"

"...He seemed oddly familiar." A vague sentiment for a cryptic Astartes.

"We'll have to come up with something, Major Mira, but for now, I'd recommend to keep the fact that we're taking over the rescue operation entirely under wraps, and inform the troops as late as possible. I do not want to entertain the possibility, but it is entirely plausible that someone within the 203rd gave that information to whomever is expecting you."

"I thought the same." was the Major's reply. "Someone with ties to the Inquisition, most likely, but nobody in the Regiment falls into that category, that I know of at least."

You nod. "Right. So, about this little incident inside the tent..."

"You leave the explanations to me, Joestar. A small training exercise before the actual assault tomorrow by a group of Guardsmen that had agreed to help our endeavors long ago."

With that, everything was said and done. It was getting dark, and as such, Mira assigned your squadron a rather large tent, and some sleeping bags, and after some hours of deliberation and planning on what little information you had, you tuck in for the night and drift off to sleep.

Before your eyes close, you see the silhouette of one of the Weather Girls outside the tent...

[Okay guys, my body is a lot more weary than I thought from work, so I'm going to have to turn in for tonight. We'll continue early tomorrow in this same thread. However, I'd recommend you use this time to develop something akin to a 'plan' (if something of such depth could be drafted out of the little information that you have), just like the Battlers supposedly did ingame.

These are some key points you should keep in mind.

>The place of the execution is Talasa Prime, which is a nearby planet.

>It is an Inquisition Fortress World.

>The execution is more or less a private affair, involving members of the Ultramarines, the Inquisition, and for some reason, the Cadian 203rd.

>You will be traveling to Talasa Prime together with the 203rd. That's the theory, anyways.

>The executioner is a man that goes by the name of Leandros Lorriandr.

>Titus will be wearing Power Armor.

>'Someone' knows about the 203rd's desire to mount a rescue attempt to liberate Captain Titus, so whomever this 'enemy' might be already knows something is going to happen tomorrow, albeit the Battlers are currently akin to a Wild Card: they're expecting rank-and-file Guardsmen, not Stand Users.

Righty, let's think this through. I've got to turn in like OP, so I'll just leave my thoughts here.

As far as I can see, there are two options open to us:
1: Physically remove Titus from the execution, and then convincing him (against his Space Marine honour) to come along with us and our merry band of fugitives.
2: Somehow do something at the execution to convince the Inquisition that Titus is not actually Chaos-corrupted and that it is in fact a terrible idea to have him killed.

More on the second later, I think.

As for the first...well, it wouldn't be /that/ hard, I don't think. Weather Girls is invisible and soundless to normal humans and can perform instant teleports. After that it would be a question of "persuading" Titus to come along with us - possibly involving a certain amount of force. We'd only run into problems if a psyker were there, which I doubt, or a Stand user, which is slightly more possible.

Easiest way would probably be to sneak in - not with the 203rd, but some other way, because we don't want to get them executed - hop in and make a big show of it, put on our sunglasses, proclaim that we're on a mission from the Emprah, and then grab Titus and warp him using Weather Girls - to the tower we noticed earlier on Armatura. Poke Titus with the [Pendant], let Golden Boy explain the situation, cruise on (and probably be ambushed by whoever's pulling the strings here, I mean there's no way we're getting away this easily).

I'm convinced that an Inquisitor has fallen to Chaos, it'd explain why all this wierdass shit involving them keeps happening.

Think about it, we develop a powerful ability that's unaffected by Chaos? Tried to have us executed, Space Marine with a resistance to Chaos? Tried to have him executed.

Someone's been turned by the dark powers, and is trying to destroy the Imperium from the inside.
>>
>>27820755
The real question is if any of our opposition are stand users. If none are then we can just sneak Weather Girls over to titus and suddenly no more execution subject. Sadly it would take blatant optimism to assume that none of our foes are stand users. On the plus side Low Rider can probably wreck the mechanisms in opposing power armor through increasing or decreasing friction of the joints. If we get seated on a bench or some such then we can just start tapping it for a bit and through the secondary ability of our stand increase the friction on all the mechanisms of the joints of the armor. the major question is where do we keep Weather Girls. It is our extraction point but should it come under enemy fire then we immediately lose it and have to get off planet the old fashioned way. Also could we get the stand stats and abilities in another pastebin for convenience? Does anyone here have any idea how effective flashbangs are on Space Marines? because ruby tuesday can be used as unlimited 'nade works so we should see about picking up a flashbang for replication. Either that or put a couple gems on Titus' power armor to help him escape. Having trouble thinking of use for firestarter or Avdol because i don't know much about 40k psychers and their capabilities.

while that does line up eerily well, it could also just be a goody two shoes inquisitor on a power trip honestly believing that this is just chaos manifesting itself in a new form (though now that you pointed that out, it could very well go either way). as for the 'destroying the imperium from the inside', there is no shortage of well-meaning inquisitorial shenanigans doing just that without realizing it in the bigger picture, chaos corruption or no.

As for a plan of action, >>27824776 seems to have a good idea. I'd recommend going with the 203rd and slipping away as soon as planetfall is made, then stealth mission-ing it up with weather girls as advanced recon (and have her deliberately attempt to be stealthy in case we have stand users present). Attempt to find where titus is being held and, from there, do a few things

A) if there are guards, either disable them by oraora, or if there are actual marines guarding him, friction-lock their armor so they can't move to fight back, then either proceed with good ol' fashioned beatdown/killing or have macha send her second weather girl outside the hull of the ship and just telefrag the guards into space
B) discern whether or not titus will come along with rescue.
C) discern whether or not titus has a stand
D) if the two above conditions are met, reveal our mission from the emperor and xenos partnership
E) if all above conditions are met, use weather girls as instant getaway and explain everything further on the ship

from there, assuming the unlikely event that it goes this smoothly, make way to the planet in the system with the tower in it and give the big E a ring to let him know we've succeeded

I'm no scientist, but could we do something like this?

Increase internal firiction = Increased resistance to deformation, if we make the armor go high with this, it can never be deformed.
Remove skin friction = Make deflection significantly more easier.
Remove kinetic friction = Imparting kinetic energy to the object becomes significantly more challenging

Also, we could technically make an immovable rod if we ramped up the static friction to such degree that it would resist ALL movement to the point where it would never be moved, only the things around it, until we cancel our ability.

>Increase internal firiction = Increased resistance to deformation, if we make the armor go high with this, it can never be deformed.
Probably if you bump up friction high enough you could be able to resist slash damage pretty well. Projectile damage? Perhaps, but the kinetic impact is still there. Getting a bolter round to the chest is gonna be a bitch want it or not.

>Remove skin friction = Make deflection significantly more easier.
Define deflection. If you want to be impervious to bullets you want your friction to be as high as possible as to get your own skin to stop the bullet velocity. How much friction would you need for that? Loads. I don't wanna do the calculations at the moment (I'm a doctor, not a physicist!), but if a .50 round goes leaves the muzzle at about 12kJ, you need to have a friction coeficient high enough to impart a counter to those 12kJ within miliseconds. Which is a fuckton. And this is for present-day bullets. Bolters are a whole different story altogether.

>Remove kinetic friction = Imparting kinetic energy to the object becomes significantly more challenging
?

>Also, we could technically make an immovable rod if we ramped up the static friction to such degree that it would resist ALL movement to the point where it would never be moved, only the things around it, until we cancel our ability.
You'd need a friction coeficient of literally a number so high that it can be rounded off as infinity.

tl;dr: Can Low Rider send off such tremendous amounts of friction in such a short window of time? Probably not. Can Low Rider *Requiem* do it, though...?
>>
Rolled 34

>>27825600
we could do that kind of stuff, yes. the situation hasn't come up where we need to use those kinds of things yet, though. basically, as long as its within physical reach of low rider, we can manipulate the coefficient of friction on something we can physically see.

>Increase internal firiction = Increased resistance to deformation, if we make the armor go high with this, it can never be deformed.
if we can see and touch the armor, this is a possibility. our ability also allows us to daisy-chain the ability to other physically connected objects, so the entire armor can likely be affected if we concentrated hard enough
>Remove skin friction = Make deflection significantly more easier.

[Hey guys, I'm at the bank, so sorry if I reply slowly.]

You awaken once there is light outside, to notice there is nobody on the tent with the exception of Yuu'yan, and, surprisingly enough, Weather Girls lying on the corner, feetless legs splayed, looking more like a gigantic, lifeless doll decorating the room of an opulent little girl.

Standing up, you stretch your muscles a bit, and think back on last night's discussion.

Weather Girls as an advance recon while you and the others try to infiltrate...the only thing you could come up with what little information you could obtain about Talasa Prime.

At the very least, by traveling together with the 203rd, you know Titus' general location in the planet.

Sneaking through an Inquisitorial Fortress World.

It sounds suicidal, but you have faith in the power of Stands, just as the Emperor does.

Honestly, for insane friction-defying acts, why not just use a regular gun and subtract all friction from the bullets?

Rework the plan to have a different kind of recon available than Weather Girls. If there's a Stand user there and they see Weather Girls, which stands out too much and isn't fast enough to run, the gig is up and our element of surprise, as well as our trump cards, are gone. It'd be better to use one of the Eldar as advanced recon instead, as they're more accustomed to these sorts of tactics than our human crew, as well as misleading, as they'll expect an Eldar invasion rather than Stand users should they be caught.
>>
>>27826295
If you subtract all friction then you could, in theory, defy gravity to a point it won't go down. It won't go up or left or right, either, but the point stands.

With the clarity brought by rest, you come to understand two factors you hadn't taken into consideration: one, the possibility Weather Girls could be seen by someone with 'the ability to see Stands'. Second, Weather Girls would have a hard time communicating back to the rest of the team.

With this in mind, you shake Yuu'yan's shoulder, awakening the sleeping Eldar, still wearing Zola's helmet, from his slumber.

"Uhhh..Joachim?"

"Morning, Yuu'yan."

You explain the logistic problems you've distinguished with your current course of action. Yuu'yan intently listens to you, and once you cover all the bases, speaks :

"Listen, Joachim. I shall be the 'advance scout'. We Eldar are quick of foot and silent! Even if it's a Fortress I will be unseen and unheard."

You nod. "Thanks, Yuu'yan. Well, since Eldar are fit for tasks as those, how about taking Criehr with you as backup?"

Yuu'yan chuckles. "That girl is a 'total klutz'. I heard she once even tripped in battle! She keeps saying it was not a mistake, but a 'happy little accident' since the enemy would have hit her head-on otherwise."

You remember Criehr tripping on top of you and cutting her finger with something...could that have been a 'happy little accident', too?

Once everything is said and done, you decide to experiment a little with Low Rider's friction abilities.

"Yuu'yan, that helmet still on too tight?"

"...Yeah," the Eldar admitted sheepishly. "It's still pretty uncomfortable."

"Low Rider." You call out lowly. In a flash, you reduce the friction of the 'helmet', but not that much as to make it slippery and risk it falling off his head.

"Better?" You ask.

"MUCH better." The Eldar chided, rather pleased with the end result of your imperceptible action.

Well, there's an everyday use for your Stand Ability if you've ever seen one.

You decide to experiment a bit further with Low Rider. Turning back, you are met face-to-face with Weather Girls.

"Macha." You greet courteously. "Good morning."

"Mornin', JoJo" the speaker on W.G. responds, carrying Macha's melodious voice, with sounds a bit sleepy still. You notice Yuu'yan tense a little at this...getting used to hearing a voice from out of nowhere (at least from his perspective) cannot be easy.

You explain the current change of plans, as well as ask her for a favor. "Anything for you, JoJo~. Ask away!"

"Here, hold my Laspistol."

W.G. does as you requested. Low Rider touches W.G. and attempts to change its friction. The Laspistol is still held tightly in its hands.

Next, you decide to test using W.G. as an 'object' with the Laspistol as target. The weapon quickly fall from her hand.

"So I cannot change the apparent friction of Stands, but I can use them to change that of other objects...interesting....

Honestly, we don't really *need* to. Low Rider has precision B and speed A, which means it can catch bullets with its fingers. Remember that in Part 4 Josuke is able to flick bullets with enough accuracy to threaten a rat behind cover at 60m, more than enough to catch a bullet in its fingers, combine that with a speed rating that's about lightspeed, and it doesn't have any issused with reacting to it.

I don't really remember Zolo or whoever's Stand stats, but while Mercuria's Stand is precise enough, it is much too slow.

Still, BARRIER DA ZE! was one of my most favourite moments in Battle Tendency.

"Macha, can you teleport here?"

Before another word could be muttered, the redheaded Farseer appears in front of you. As you hoped, she had her Spear with her.

"Hm?"

"I'm going to change the 'friction' of your Spear. Swing it here, then back at the transport, and tell me if there's any difference."

Low Rider's ability soon increases the friction of Macha's weapon. She tries to swing it in a horizontal arc, but with much difficulty, she gives up halfway. Panting, she nods at you, and warps out of sight.

Not a moment later, she's back, breath I g in even harder, sweat glistening on her forehead.

"Same...difficulty..."

You remove the friction modification from the Farseer's Spear. "I'm sorry about that...but I needed to know if the friction effects remained a long distance from my Stand."

Macha leans against her Spear, which she has planted firmly on the ground. "That's a yes...I wonder if the effect is permanent, though..."

You shake your head. "I'd have to test that on the long-term. I don't think we can do that now."

You've probably done everything you could at the moment to test Low Rider's abilities.

"I'm going to look for the Major. Macha, Yuu'yan, I'll see you a bit later."

You step out of the tent, leaving the Eldar duo behind. Your destination is simple enough: the Commander's Tent.

You step inside, and indeed, Mira is there. She looks up at you and nod. "Joachim."

"Major.", you greet in response.

"Are you and your men ready for what's coming up?"

"We've discussed some things. For starters, we will separate from the 203rd once we reach Talasa Prime. One of my fellows is good at 'stealth', so he is going to scout the location and find where Captain Titus is apprehended. Everything is falling into place, but there is one thing I must ask of you."

"And that is?" Mira inquires.

"I need to borrow a specific item. A 'Cadian Guardsman's Helmet' or a 'Vox-caster'...I new a communications device."

The Commanding Officer nods. "I have one right over there. The 'Vox-Caster Headset' I used in the Gracia campaign. That is what you'd need, right?"

You walk towards the direction the Commanding Officer pointed you towards and pick up the aforementioned headset. "Yes, this should do."

You have just angered the Commander of the 203rd Cadian Regiment...at the very least, you got what you probably needed the most (that is, the 'Headset'), but the possibility of asking for other equipment seemed pretty much nil.

'Well', you thought, 'we probably have everything we need, thanks to our Stands...'

Still, some doubts lingered in your mind. You still needed information.

You see a patrolling guardsman, Lasrifle slung over his shoulder, whistling a catchy ditty as he walked. Might as well ask him for the information you need.

"Pardon me, Guardsman," you say as you approach the Cadian, who stops whistling and turns his head towards you, giving you his full attention, "I have some questions I'd like to ask you."

"My friend...I need some ''information'. Firstly, can you tell me a little more about the Major?"

"Certainly", the Guardsman smiles, happy to talk on the subject. "She is an excellent leader, and managed to pull us together when we were about to die in Graia...if it wasn't for her and her tactical savvy, we'd had died long before Captain Titus and his retinue made planetfall."

"Captain Titus...Guardsman, what do you and your people think of him?"

The Guardsman is moved to the point of almost shedding tears. "Captain Titus is...Captain Titus is...the Emperor's Protection made flesh! If it wasn't for him, I-I really would have died! I still remember, he stood in front of a hail of enemy fire, and took the blows head on...in order to shield me and my comrades! I thought we were dead, but he appeared, and he even recaptured some gun batteries we thought lost to the Orks! That's why I...I cannot allow Captain Titus to die like some lowly traitor!"

His voice carries such impassioned truth...you're starting to understand why the Emperor wants you to save this man. He truly is a remarkable person who has changed lives. His service to the Emperor is worthy of praise, and to continue into the unforeseeable future.

"I understand, my friend." You place your right hand on his left shoulder, in order to cull his emotions. "Just one more question. How are we being transported to Talasa Prime?"

"...You didn't know? We're going to be taken to a Spaceport in a couple of hours, and from there, we'll travel on an Imperial Navy transport to that planet..."

"I understand. Thank you, Guardsman."

With that, the Guardsman nods, and continues on his way.

So, a transport ship...you'd be mobilized to it soon enough. All you need for now is to wait. You place the Headset on your ears - soon, the moment of truth would take place.

You find your comrades (with the exception of Yuu'yan, who is probably still back at the tent), in the Mess Tent. Rahman is having a conversation with Zola, while Mercuria chats vividly with several Guardsmen, no doubt sharing stories from your time with the PDF. Then there's Criehr, who is, once again, surrounded by lovestruck Guardsmen, acting courtly, as if a princess surrounded an array of varied suitors.

You might as well pick a bite to eat, yourself. Heading towards a nearby queue for meals, you come back shortly thereafter holding a grox sandwich.

"Morning, friends." you greet, as you take a seat next to Rahman. The others happily greet you back.

You join in the conversations as well, which are not much more than idle chatter. Soon, you're finished with your sandwich, and as everyone else was done with their meals as well, you decide it's time to go.

"Friends, we should probably prepare for departure. I believe we will be leaving this planet shortly."

The rest of the group understands what you mean, and soon enough, all of you are back in the tent. Yuu'yan is here still, but Macha is already gone. Of course, Weather Girls is still present.

"I know that...but when you do..."

She laughs heartily. "Head feels like it's splittin' and I can't stand up? Yeah, yeah. I didn't drink THAT much, actually. Most of it was just a game of pretend, hopefully so that the guys I was talking with spilled some beans, y'know? Sadly it didn't work as well as I intended...I still think the alcohol helped me manifest Ruby Tuesday."

...If it was mostly pretend, why did she have to go off tangent and talk about Macha? That could have been risky.

"Well, I'm glad you're all right, Mercuria. I got the gist of your Stand's capabilities last night. Learned anything new?"

"Let's arm wrestle."

"Like we always do? That's not exactly treading new grounds, JoJo.", the Guardswoman replies with a toothy grin.

"Let me finish. I mean we arm wrestle...with our Stands."

Rahman and Zola look shocked. You could swear you could see W.G. perk up as well.

"A duel?! A duel between STAAAAAAAAAAAAANDS?!" Rahman exclaims excitedly.

"That's right. Mercuria! Let's put the strength of our 'Battle-Spirits' to the test!"

"You're on, JoJo! But I must tell you...like always...it's gonna be Useless! Useless! USELESS!!"

And so, you duel!

"ORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

"ORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The test of strength is truly something to behold! You can feel Rahman, Criehr and W.G. cheering on, while Yuu'yan continually asked "who's winnin!?" and Zola just seemed to know how it was going without even needing to see the Stands. Your friend's morale seems to be improving tremendously.

You lose, although it's a rather close match.

"I win!" Mercuria jumps excitedly. "I mean...of course I win. Told'ya it was useless, JoJo!" Ruby Tuesday punches Low Rider playfully on the shoulder...perhaps a bit TOO playfully.

You feel a jolt of pain, as if somebody had hit your shoulder. "Ow!" You rub it.

"Joachim, wait..." Rahman speaks. "Look at that..." his hand removes yours from your shoulder, and you see it. A small bruise, but a bruise nonetheless, where Low Rider got hit by Ruby Tuesday, on your very own shoulder.

"It seems....that any damage the 'Stand' receives reflects itself on its user."

So not only was this little test of strength great on your friend's morale, it also gave you some insight into important information regarding Stands. Perfect!!

You can hear a voice outside the tent. "We're moving out! We're moving out! Everyone get their stuff and get ready!"

"That's our call." Zola says. "Let's get going."

(cont.)
>>
>>27835636

A few hours later...you find yourselves within an Imperial transport touching down in Talasa Prime, sitting inside of Major Mira's private chambers.

"So this is where we part ways. Thank you for your aid, Major. Leave the rescue of Captain Titus to us, and make sure your men don't do anything brash. We'll handle everything from here" The Major nods at your words, before raising a question of her own.

"Pray tell, how are you going to slink away from the main group?"

"Oh, that won't be a problem at all." Rahman responds. "'We have our own method of transportation, as well."

"Don't get freaked out now~"

W.G. touches your back, and in a second, you're gone.

Of course, 'splitting off' the main group would have turned out to be too difficult, so instead you had Macha set up 'Weather Girls Silver' near the facility where the Execution will take place, while 'Weather Girls Bronze' rode the transport with the rest of you. Of course, since you have been seen by members of the Imperial Navy, should you need to blend in with the 203rd for any reason...you'll have a rather solid alibi.

Once you feel the dirt beneath your boots, you know it's time to spring into action. Yuu'yan cracks his neck. "Time to get to work, eh?"

About a kilometer from your current location, the facility, with its large metal doors and assorted Inquisitorial and Imperial regalia stands oppressively. It was agreed by all that everyone but Yuu'yan would stay behind for now, at least until Titus' location was confirmed.

With impressive speed, Yuu'yan bolts towards the edifice.

A few minutes of silence pass before the vox crackles to life...
-------------------------------------------------------------------

You've found your way inside the Mon'keigh structure, its blocky corridors and excessively dull architecture an affront to your senses. You want to finish this mission as soon as possible.

(cont.)

>>27835953
We be Yuu'yan now? Awesome.
>>
>>27835953

"Joachim," you speak unto the Mon'keigh artifice known as a 'vox' found within the kid's helmet. "I'm inside."

The voice from the human at the other end sounds relieved. "Fantastic, Yuu'yan! You need to find where Captain Titus is being held. Try to find some holding quarters. My guess is that they'd be below-ground."

"Understood. I'll be done before ya know it."

You are Yuu'yan Fughamist, a Warp Spider from Biel-Tan...or at least you used to be. You're sure your Craftworld would definitely not give you a warm welcome, should you return to it. That is irrelevant now, however.

You are wearing an elaborate replica of a Mon'keigh military uniform, complete with a helmet that was on a bit too tight until earlier today, as well as flak armor.

Your short blonde hair and long, pointy ears are thankfully covered by the kid's helmet.

On your person, you carry a Mon'Keigh weapon named 'Lasrifle', a Frag Grenade, and a Combat Knife.

The hallway in front of you seems to stretch both forward and backwards as far as the eye can see.

"My Lord!" Ugh, saying that makes you feel dirty. "I am merely lost. I don't believe detaining me will do any good!"

"Quiet, Guardsman! If you value your life, you'll do as I say!"

You had to do something, anything, in this situation. So you react in a way they might have not expected.

You cry. The tears come out as you remember your previous comrades falling to the fires of war, some being consumed by She Who Thirsts..

"My Lord..." You manage to say between sniffles and sobs. "I must say my last goodbye to Captain Titus...I must..."

The Marine stays silent, and you two keep walking, your cries producing the only sound in the mute, deserted corridors.

Before long, you're in a jail cell. The Marine drops you here, turns back wordlessly, and leaves.

Wait, did he...

You approach the cell's barred door.

It's open.

The Marine...left the door open. Was it because...of what you said?

This worked a lot better than you would have thought! You got to the detainment center in one fell swoop!

"WHAT?!" If he wasn't there, then...

They must have already been preparing him for the execution. Whisking the Captain away under everybody's noses...that would no longer happen.

[Hey guys...thanks for the encouragement. Really, it means a lot. I know I have a lot of weak points, particularly descriptions as well as Stands being a little too straightforward, but I just want people to have fun, so I'm glad I'm achieving that.

Now, it's time to GET BACK!]

"Change of plans, everybody. We'll have to rescue the Captain...during the execution!"

Everyone's shocked reactions told you that they were not too keen on that idea. Frankly, neither were you, but at the moment, you had no choice.

"JoJo! Do you know what you're saying!?" Mercuria responded shakily. "This is a 'Fortress World'! How are we going to do something that insane with 'Space Marines' and 'Inquisitors' watching?!"

"We do have Stand Abilities..." Rahman interrupts. "While some of the 'enemy' might be able to see our Stands, should either me, Mercuria, or Joachim manage to get close enough...we could act a lot faster than they could react."

"Then all that would be left" Zola says, "is to use the element of surprise to our advantage in order to cover our escape..."

This is sounding a lot more like Mira's original plan (if you could call it that). However...none of you are planning on dying today!

"Macha," you ask W.G. Silver. "where is your other W.G now?"

"She's close enough to the 203rd, tailing them from a safe distance."

"Okay, this is what we're going to do." you activate your Vox-link. "Yuu'yan, get back to the rendezvous point and keep an eye out for enemy personnel. Macha, take us to where 'Bronze' is currently located, and immediately take her back to the ship! Once we've secured the Captain, we'll have to book it back here and get out of Talasa Prime!"

The plan was, for all extents and purposes, absolutely mental. However, you also have powers that defy logic and reason, don't you?

With everything said, Macha mutters a quiet "be careful", and teleports you near where the Cadian 203rd is.

I'm gonna be honest and say I fucking hate quest threads. I hate the concept alone.

But this is the one exception. I fucking love this shit.
>>
>>27842108

Noticing that the Guardsmen had their weapons confiscated by security, you make sure to transport all of it back to the rendezvous point.

You're essentially unarmed. Only Stand power will help you now.

Currently, all you carry on you is your Rebreather and your Canteen, which is filled to the brim with water.

A few hours pass. During said time, you sought out Mira and explained the grim reality of the situation, and explained your current plan of action.

"If it becomes necessary...we'll become human shields to aid your escape" she had said.

"That will NOT become necessary. Just make sure your men don't get the time to obtain weapons to fire at us."

And with that, the arrangements were made. You and the rest of your retinue would be in the 'front line' of the execution, so to speak.

Less than 2 meters from the platform were it would take place, too.

The looming sky above your heads was grey and dark, reflecting the downfallen spirits of the Guardsmen present. You did your best to look solemn, too, even if you were less depressed and more nervous, your heart beating rapidly.

Then you see him, kneeling on the platform, wearing the blue power armor Ultramarines are known for...his eyes hollow and soulless, not unlike Mira's yesterday.

It was 'the gaze of someone who feels has failed their Emperor'. Oh, Captain, if only you knew...

A man even larger than any of the Astartes you've seen so far stands in the platform, as well. From his bionic eye, stern expression, and air of authority...you can only deduce this is Marneus Calgar, Chapter Master of the Ultramarines. A legend in the flesh, at least from what Rahman has told you.

(cont.)
>>
>>27842366

On the platform, too, is an Inquisitor, his bald head and olive skin criss-crossed with cables and augmentations. He is flanked by two Astartes in silver power armor, runes and sigils etched onto their armored bodies...you've never heard of a Chapter like such before. Another person was part of his bodyguards, as well...a young woman with a 'Fleur-de-Lis' etched onto her left cheek, accentuating her delicate features. Her hair was as white as pure snow, even whiter than the plains of Carillion, the frozen planet where your Regiment met its last. She wore jet-black armor and carried a Bolter on her right hand...there was no mistaking it. She was a 「Sister of Battle」...

Finally, the last person atop the metallic platform was an Astartes in Ultramarine armor, his helmet shielding his visage from the world. He carried a Chainsword in his hands.

Something told you...that was the 'executioner'... Leandros Lorriandr!!

It is not long before the ceremony began.

"Battle-Brothers...members of the Inquisition...Cadian 203rd Regiment...today, we are here to give one final farewell to a courageous leader and exemplary Ultramarine who always went beyond the call of duty in order to bring the Emperor's salvation to the many." spoke Marneus Calgar, his powerful voice, like a lion's roar, filling every corner of the courtyard where the execution would take place.

"Sadly...he has been lost to us, due to the influence of the Ruinous Powers... so we must personally send him to the Emperor's side, as to save him from an eternity of corruption. Titus..." he turns his head down to the sullen Captain. "What you've done for our Imperium is truly great. Now, I must ask you to perform one final duty, and perish for it. This is something you were prepared for from the very beginning, as a Space Marine. Please forgive me, but this is what's best for the Imperium."

You can hear the Captain mutter under his breath. "Not like this...I should die...fighting..."

(cont.)
>>
>>27842481

Calgar's expression darkens, and with those words said, he walks off the platform, metal rumbling and shaking with each step he takes.

Once he's off the stage, the execution grounds become eerily silent. After what seems like an eternity, someone speaks, their voice heavily modulated.

"Captain Titus, do you recognize this 'Chainsword'? It is the same you used in Forge World Graia to purge the world from the Ork menace. This is a 'noble weapon' you used. You shall perish by your own blade, Captain. Is there no greater fate?"

The executioner, the abhorrent Leandros Lorriandr, revs up the battle-weapon, its incredibly loud noise now breaking the solemn silence.

"Leandros...you...you'll never be a true Ultramarine!" Titus spat out.

"No, Captain. I already am one. You're the one that has fallen."

The Inquisitor, mute until now, speaks up.

"Does Captain Titus, former Captain of the 2nd Company of the Ultramarines chapter have any last words?"

The Captain takes a deep breath. "If the Emperor's will is for me to die by my own blade today...then so it shall be." He says, resolute to his fate.

Leandros raises the blade overhead...

The Chainsword in his hand starts freezing into a thick sheet of ice as well! The audience stares on, shocked by this sudden turn of events!!

"A-AH!! HOT!! SO VERY HOT!!"

You can see smoke coming out of Leandros' armor, which has become a sizzling heat-trap!

Looking over to Rahman, you realize he used on one of his "Laser Beams" at the Chainsword, and another on Leandros' armor through his gauntlet! Both 'objects' are close enough, so by aiming properly, Rahman could affect both from a distance!!"

"THE EMPEROR'S WILL HAS SPOKEN!!"

Using Low Rider to control the air friction going up, you make a mighty leap onto the stage!! A barrage of light-speed punches later, Leandros is skidding off the stage, sent flying to the nearest wall!!

"YOU?! JOESTAR, HERE, ALREADY?!" The Inquisitor blurts out, his personal escorts raising their Bolters at you.

"Seems you know of me. I'd love to stay and chat, since I have so many damn questions of you lot. 'Why was Carillion ordered for an Exterminatus'? 'Why was my Regiment slain without second thought'? 'Why is a hero like the Captain here being put to death'!?"

The icy chainsword, sent flying once you hit Leandros and changed his friction, spins on the air and thaws out (no doubt by interference of Firestarter) as it falls towards your direction.

Without even looking, you catch the Chainsword's hilt during its descent, using the spectacle to hit both silver Astartes with Low Rider's ability, paralyzing them within their armor as well!

"WHAT IS THAT DAEMON THAT APPEARS TO STAND BESIDES THAT HERETIC GUARDSMAN?!" asks one of the Astartes.

The Sororitas, taken by surprise by the spectacle, tries to pull the trigger, but it is useless, as you've severed the weapon in half with a mighty swing of your Chainsword!!

"You...is that a Battle-Spirit?!" The shocked Sororitas asks.

"You could call it that, yes." And with that, you bind her to her armor as well.

Only one thing to take care of before...oh, there's the heavy bolter fire at your general direction, trying to hit Captain Titus as well. Quite frankly, you were expecting that.

"Lights out, Mr. Inquisitor."

Low Rider knocks the Inquisitor out cold as you liberate the good Captain from his shackles with the Chainsword!!

"Captain. No time to explain. Emperor sent me. We get out of here now."

Once you turn back to the audience, you see quite the spectacle. While some had followed Mira's (and by extension, your) request and acted completely dumbfounded during this event, other members of the Cadian 203rd did their best to distract the Ultramarines, even without any weapons! Several of them tried to assist your party.

You couldn't leave them here to die, and you wouldn't.

"HEY, 'BRAVES'!!" You yell out as loudly as you can. "WE'RE GETTING OUT OF HERE, COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!"

You and Titus break into a sprint, your entourage hot on your heels, and with the Guardsmen rebels following close behind!

The deafening sound of weapons fire and clanking metal boots filled the corridors, as several rounds mowed down Guardsmen who followed behind you. A round grazes your right arm, sending a few droplets of your blood sprinkling around.

There is a sound, however, that does not fit with the rest of the environment.

It's the sound as if of a pen, or pencil...scratching onto paper.

You turn your head at Criehr....is she....drawing on her sketchbook while you run?!

"YO, CRIEHR!!" Mercuria yells out. "THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO BE DRAWIN' CRAP!!"

"You are mistaken..."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN DRAWING?!" Zola yells out. "DRAWING ON WHAT?!"

"...this is my 「Stand」." The Eldar Artisan raises her sketchbook at you. You see it is a drawing of you and your comrades running through the same dark corridors you are escaping through right now.

"AUSTERLITZ!!"

She rips off the page from her 'sketchbook'...and soon enough, a 'perfect copy' of your entourage appears behind you, as if running, but not truly moving.

You hear the sound of Bolter fire, and...it hits the copies, or at least you think they hit the copies...and you hear the grunts of pain of the Marines following you, as the bolters go silent.

"My ability, 'Austerlitz'... allows me to create 'static illusions'. These are intangible, but...should someone try to harm them with 'killing intent', the damage will reverse back to its attacker!"

"Wow!" You heard some of the Guardsmen on the back exclaim.

"Who are these guys?!"

"Their powers are amazing!!"

"They're blessed by the Emperor!!"

Your running is interrupted when you come face to face with a gargantuan figure of a man at a crossroads.

Marneus Calgar.

You take on a fighting stance, and summon Low Rider, while your comrades do the same with their Stands.

He just raises his right hand, palm exposed. "I do not come to fight." He points towards a corridor to the left. "Go that way. There should be an exit through there if you follow the corridor. I'll direct any oncoming guards the opposite way. That should buy you some time."

"My Lord"...Titus starts.

"I am sorry, Titus. Truly, terribly sorry...but there are forces that prevented me from helping you. I never once doubted you. I am sorry....so sorry, for leaving you to your death...but now I am certain you will uncover the 'truth' we cannot speak about. Go, Titus, Guardsman Joestar...Uncover that 'truth'!"

Not really. If you take it into consideration, who would stand still to fight a Chapter Master when they could instead be booking it? Let's give the blue bomber here the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure he's got some skill at deception.

"My Lord....I'll have to use my 'ability' on you in order to make this believable."

He chuckles lowly. "Go ahead, son. I'd like to experience a 'Stand Ability' firsthand, anyways. And don't worry about the details, probably somebody will come extract us from our armors using Lascutters later."

You nod, and salute the Chapter Master traditionally.

In seconds, he is locked up in his armor as well.

"Joachim Joestar, Titus, and the others...may we meet again. Never stop fighting."

You nod, and run towards where Calgar directed you to.

After running for minutes, you finally see the grim daylight once again.

However, you are not alone, as a lone figure lands about 10 meters away from you! One of those Silver Astartes, carrying a crackling power sword and bolter!!

"DOWN WITH THE HERETICS!" he raises his aim...

Low Rider punches the canteen, breaking it into tiny little fragments and liberating the water within!!

It doesn't seem like you can reach the armor, but....

The Astartes shoots....only to have the bolter explode in his hand!!

"UGH!!"

That's right...you 'increased the friction of the bolter'! Trying to shoot a bolter shell from said weapon only caused excessive heat, which in turn caused a chemical reaction within the weapon!!

"GO ON, KEEP RUNNING TOWARDS THAT HILL!!" You point at the rendezvous point where Yuu'yan should be at that moment.

The Astartes is implacable, however. With a mighty roar, he charges at you with his Power Sword!!

The Silver Astartes rolls to the side, tossing Titus away from him. Before they can continue their scuffle, however.

"Mister Astartes~"

Why was Criehr so close to the enemy?

"I brought te~qui~la~"

...What's a 'tequila'?

Criehr held a glass bottle in her hands, displaying it proudly.

The Astartes was not too impressed.

"DIE, HERETIC!!" Slashing with his Power Sword, the hit connects...with the bottle Criehr was holding, seemingly cleaving it in half!!

But then, rather than the glass hurting Criehr or the contents of the bottle spilling everywhere...it just vanishes.

A gurgled, guttural scream...from the Astartes, as his chest was seemingly slashed with something, dark crimson blood spilling out from behind his armor!!

"And that is...Mister Astartes, why you don't refuse an offer from a lady~"

"Good job, Guardswoman!" Titus commends, as he picks the fallen Astartes' Power Sword. You, Titus and Criehr break into a sprint towards the hill. Almost there...almost there...made it!!

Only Yuu'yan remains in the Rendezvous point, alongside W.G.!!

"Everybody, grab hands!" The 'Guardsman' orders, and you all do as instructed.

Moments later, you find yourself on the Eldar Transport, 'Isha's Embrace'. Particularly, the inner deck, one of the most spacious places within the ship.

Before you have even moments to readjust your vision to the bright lights and pristine white of the transport, however, you hear a booming voice cry out.

"FOUL XENOS!! DIE BY HY HAND!!"

Titus' Power Sword flies in a horizontal arc...aimed right at Macha!!

You increase the friction on the Power Sword, and have Low Rider hold your Chainsword! Low Rider's Chainsword clashes with the now-slower Power Sword!! To anyone who couldn't see Stands, it would seem that a Chainsword floating in midair stopped the mighty blow!!

"Captain Titus! This woman is our friend! Please stop!"

Macha just sighs. "Next you're going to say...'This xenos, your FRIEND? ARE YOU ALL HERETICS?!', right?"

"This xenos, your FRIEND? ARE YOU ALL HERETICS?! ...wait, eh?!" Titus said, just as expected.

"I'll just keep the long story short, Space Marine" Macha puts her hands on her hips before delivering her following words: "Your Emperor can still communicate with certain people, those who have abilities like your rescuers. I just so happen to have similar abilities. In short, your Emperor asked me for a favor, and I decided to comply. Satisfied?"

"Why would a xenos witch like you...aid our most holy Emperor?! And why would the Emperor ask for help to a foul creation such as you!?"

"...'Equivalent Exchange'. I'll have you know you're currently in my transport, and I'm going to take you to speak to him directly. You might as well, want to keep your righteous fury in check for a while, Mister Astartes" Macha ended her little delivery somewhat mockingly.

"Sir Titus." You intervene. "This is true. This woman saved our lives from an Exterminatus at the Emperor's request, shortly after I had spoken to His Eminence's spirit-message. What is most interesting, however, is the fact that 'those who destroyed that planet', and 'those that sentenced you to death unfairly' are one and the same. The Emperor told us to find the 'Wrongfully Accused' in Ultramar...and that's you. That's why it was not the Emperor's Will you'd die today!!"

Titus lowers his blade with much effort, the extra friction still affecting the weapon. "I suppose I can go along with this...for now." He turns back towards the unarmed Guardsmen, who were being watched by a few members of the Eldar crew. "Are you all right with this, brave warriors of the 203rd?"

"Yes, sir!"

"As far as I know, they saved us!"

"Even a xenos can be gifted by the Emperor's grace...amazing!"

Titus turns back to you. You feel it is now safe to remove the friction effects from his weapon, and you do so.

"We haven't truly introduced each other yet, Guardsman." He extends his gigantic free hand towards you in a friendly gesture. "Since you saved my life, I do owe you at least that much."

"My name is Joachim Joestar, Captain." your hands meet for a handshake. "From the late Stella Platina 2nd Regiment, known as the 'Battlers'."

"It is nice to meet you, Guardsman Joestar." the Astartes responds with a smile. "My name is Titus. Titus Zeppeli.

Stand's can varry wildly in power levels, A rank strength means it's punching holes through peoples torso's, A rank speed means they're punching roughly light speed to FTL.

Then you have all the brokeness of their abilities, Jotaro and Dio, prehaps the most iconic of the Jojo characters can *stop time*, and even characters with really weak sounding powers can be dangerous as fuck-all in a fight.

For example Bucellati has the power to create zippers, that means he can place a dozen zippers on you faster than you can blink, and unzip them all to turn you into a human slinky.

See picture.

Futhermore, higher level Stands are freakisly powerful, Bohemian Rhapsody can summon fictional characters like Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star.

Gold Experience Requiem is one of the contenders for 'most broken character' in all of fiction, with the ability to nullify any action before it occurs, this was done when time didn't even exist, since his opponent had the ability to skip/erase time. He also punched the concept of 'Death' out of his opponent, putting him in a state of dying, but without being able to die. This caused the BBEG to basically die infinitely.
>>
I personally rate the stands as following in their strenght.

S rank = Stands that have combat abilities that cannot be resisted or overpowered. Low Rider, Gold Experience Requiem fall to this category.
A rank = Stands that have have good physical stats, while still having an ability that provides utility in case the strenght isn't enough. Crazy Diamond and Gold Experience fall to this category.
B rank = Purely combat stands that when put toe-to-toe against enemy stand will almost always win in a straight melee. Silver Chariot and The Hand fall into this category.
C rank = Stands with not combat ability, but provide valuable utility. Hermit's purple and Thoth fall to this category.
D rank = Combat stands that mainly specialize in killing non-stand users. Sex Pistols and the Emperor fall to this category.
E rank = Stand that require an elaborate setup and offer no help if the guy just decides to blow your brains out with a gun.
