Ah, the only game that makes FATAL look simplistic, well thought out and streamlined in comparison.

>>
>>27780571
>>27780597
The problem with FATAL character sheets is the combination of HUGE NUMBERS (10D100/5 stat rolls), EVERYTHING'S RANDOM, and completely nonsensical derived stats that can openly conflict with each other. Tracking dot counts isn't that bad.
>>
>>27780616
GURPS vehicle rules level of complicated?

Oh and open the books, OP. We want to see the horror. How bad are the illustration? I have a feeling they chose a really obnoxious font, too, with textured background. That seems like the kind of idiot thing that this game would do.

>>27780675
I never read it. Why is it awesome if it's worse than FATAL?
>>
>>27780520
Okay, other than that weird chick in the top middle this doesn't look that bad to me.

On the top left you have your stats, of which there are too many but whatever. Then you've got a WoD like virtue/vice track on the right. Again too many things, but not a weird inclusion on its own. Then theres a big chunk for skills below that. It's poorly laid out, but it's fairly restrained in it's skill selection compared to many games. Then you've got a section for relevant combat stats at the bottom.

Like I said, I don't know what the fuck is going on in the top middle, but otherwise there's nothing that crazy.
>>
>>27780657

Alright now that I revelead the prize in the box I'll be responding to your questions.

It's the perfect plan.
>>
>>27780713
If I were to guess, you put one dot wherever you happen to sit on that x-y grid.
>>
>>27780840
>comfortably

Clearly you're not deep and artistic enough to make a brilliant, deep and artistic roleplaying game like Eoris.
>>
>>27780902
Cue endless arguments about exactly where on the grid the dot should be. I have a feeling this was never playtested. Or it was, and the writers ignored all feedback because the fool playtesters clearly didn't understand the genius of the designer.
>>
>>27780484
No, all of the art is actually hand-drawn art. I mean, it's why the game was so delayed originally to the preorder purchasers, they had to have it entirely redone on new paper because the paper they had wasn't good enough and didn't hold up well enough for the massive amount of ink their stupid art needed.

>>
>>27780966
No, seriously. The devs are/were active on RPG.net when Eoris was a BIG THING in development. The publishers are also foreigners I think Brazilian?) and they sent it to publishing, the proofs they got were 'not up to the standard of the gorgeous full color art they wanted to include' and so scrapped the order for that paper and got heavier and more expensive paper.

Also, they pissed off a LOT of their preorder people in that they took the print copies to a convention and sold them there rather than filling their preorders.

Though I did just find out the amazon listing is only for the Essence book, which is disappointing.
>>
>>27781414
I haven't played it so I can't comment too much. It seems solid enough if you love d20's. The core mechanic is roll a pool of d20's (attribute + skill IIRC). A '15'-'19' is one success, a '20' is two successes and a '1' is -1 success. Total up your successes and see if you have enough to succeed at what you're doing.

BUT THEN it's more complex than that. You select one die out of your pool to be your "essence die", ether by picking one of a different colour or just rolling it separately or something. The essence die contributes successes as normal but effects the severity of the success or failure.

So if you have enough successes overall but rolled a '1' on your essence die then perhaps you succeeded, but barely. Or even just at a cost to yourself. Wheras if you got a '20' on your essence die then you fucking owned at whatever it is you were doing.
>>

Meh, I've seen worse sheets.
There's not even that much actual stuff on there, it just looks busy because they did everything with dots instead of numbers. Numbers are just too pleb for some systems, I guess.
Though I suppose it makes the twin-axis stats easier to track.

Really, the 'emotional status' one seems like a neat idea.. but why the fuck do you need a status screen for appearance? Implying that it will change and be a major factor often enough to share center stage on the character sheet.
What the heck kind of game is this?

You mean verbal diarrhea and an incompetent editor that doesn't know how to reign her in?

Don't make me bitch about how retarded it was to have a short story breaking in every. single. fucking. section. of Weapons of the Gods

Also oh lawds the races are not described in detail in the game book. Then again they intended you to slog through the setting book and then the mechanics.

Anyway to begin we got three "race types"

You go Sil which are like Mer from TES, descended from divinity and shit. They also have some sort wings and flight ability.

Xylen which are non-divine critters. Who's special ability is a Stand err spirit critter I mean "Eko" which you can create.

Then Kalei which are divinity based critters or some fucking shit involving the cosmology I have not bothered reading yet. Apparently they killed the "Great spirit" and are following orders from God.

Also they get "song" magic so if you need your singan waifus from Arc tonelico this is the group you go to.

Anyway the actual things you play range from Humanoid, anima, and bipedal animal.

According to the pictures:
The humans are Sinarie, Eorisian, and Baarin.
Eorsian is like your vanilla human, Baarin has horns on head, and no fucking clue on Sinarie except they all have like some sort of name after them on. And Sinarie Rinn have blue wimminz dressed in Indian garb.

For the bidpedal animal races you got Hurun, Silthen, and Enlil.

Hurun looks like an Ewok, Silthen is this manlet beaver DYEL, and the Silthen is a bearmode beaver/bear thing.

Last types are Doge(wolf).
You got white magical doge with flowing fur, magical red doge which looks like Red XII with goofy tats, and doge

Aight this is gonna be a bit long winded
>The Essence system provides a comprehensive methodology to keep track of Character's psychological and mental states.

Anyway it's a really kinda clunky represented subset for social combat stuff.

Anyway take FATE's social/mental stress track and combine it with Exalted's virtues and limit break thing and you got a rough idea of how it is.

Anyways you got stress which is your jimmies than can be rustled. They get rustled if you act against your urge which you can only resist so much.

Then you just derp

Emotional Alteration is how well you can into social combat. A derived stat formula of (mind+charisma+presence)/2.

Then you got the three emotional resistance traits.

Emotional barrier is basically how sensitive/open you are to others.

Hope is kinda weird, in that it's like fate points for doing shit that would otherwise not be possible. Also if you run out you despair and become a phantom... ignore that last part. But yeah you kinda become "dead".

Last part is patience, will power + mind divided by two.

Then you got the impulse in which is like your virtues/limit break in exalted except it's more like an overall personality mindset towards reacting to shit. And that if you try resisting it too much you derp.

With that out of the way we start getting into the social combat type stuff.

You got two types of way with social rolls. Interaction checks and influence check.

Interaction is your general roll for social stuff.
Influence is when you try and rustle their jimmies/ affect the target's emotional status. And is where that grid comes in play.

HAHA TIME FOR GRID SOON!

Okay so basically what social combat involves is you roll your pool and the opponents in an opposing roll. If you as the attacker win you do damage to their emotional hit points. If you destroy it they go back to full again with a reduction in pool size until you halve it.

NOW WE GOT TO GIRD GET HYPE SON!

Aight so as we are aware, you got two grids. One for the emotional state and the other for appearance.

They both operate the same it says the book. Basically you scribble in the area where you think your character is. The more you are away from the circle the more altered you are.

And depending on which side you are close to you get bonus die or penalties. One affecting your social and the other for non-social stuff. It also has a scale of 0-4 with zero being neutral/chill and four being wrapped up in whatever state you are in.

The four stats are Exalted-Depressed and Secure-Frightened.

Now lets get to appearance!

Elegance-roughness don't do anything immediate and are situational. But menacing and approachable do and give you bonuses in their obvious applications.

You can change it by doing a roll so you can look nice for the bitches but not too dressed up niggas decide to rob your ass.

Also there is a modifier to your successes needed based on your appearance tendency. Which you pick at char gen and gives modifiers based on whether you move with the flow or against it.

And that is it for the grids
>>
>>27785570
can you just put the book on the shelf where it looks nice and play GURPS?
>>
>>27785570
Also I forgot to add, the "damage" means that they'd have their dots moved wherever you're wanting it too. Which means you might end up trying to crush a dude's emo HP while trying to cheer him up for dat dere dicepool buff
>>
>>27785645
It's not even that bad, it's just the grid making it look more complicated than it already is. The core of it is fine, just the presentation.

Also it's still more simpler than Exalted's social combat

Why hello there, bad teenage romance poetry. I thought I'd left you behind years ago.
>Cherish the night, the dark, the impossible, foster the child, the wake, the rearing, sinister the one, intense to fade, desire the craze, craving for the son
Okay, I'm not sure what 'sinister the one' means, but I think this is about incest.
>One poem mentions yaks out of nowhere as their stereotypical Earth animal

>The gates are open for those who know the chant
'Mellon'
>Amber dark, Solemn Cyan, Crimson Garnet, etc

>>27802999
It's not that bad, it's just the presentation being clunky.

And also the fact that there's some fluff related stuff tied to the characters. As the writers expected you to read the setting book first then the rules.

Also how's the quality?

I tried to get the image quality as good as possible with the art and text. Although the "bloom" on certain images made me mess with the contrast so shit could be visible
>>
>>27803076
Quality is good. Some cut-offs here and there, but if I remember right, its not your standard 8.5x11 so thats to be expected

And ya, I wanted to make a comparison to WoD, where you have to read some of the bullshit to get to the actual meat, except while it isnt as fluff heavy as a White Wolf rulebook, its all setting specific, so its somehow harder to get through
>>
>>27803207
The mechanics are kinda straightforward.
Only real confusing mess is the character creation section with three main types. Since the context is provided in the fluff book which they wanted to be read first. Which I will get to scanning and uploading.

On the plus side you can easily roll magical doge as your character using the critter creation rules. And try abusing vehicle rules for giggles too.
