Last time in Adero Industries we got extorted, made trade, and got hit with the side effects of SCIENCE.

The bandits have returned. There are not that many of them yet but they exist. Monsters lurk the lava flows. Dr. Picli has shown Overseer No-Mad the glories of Lava fishing. With No-Mad insisting fish can't live in lava but Picli simply replied "monsters do".

Security concerns have arisen in considering the general threats and our lack of manpower.

The Urgsha were caught of guard with the tribute refering you to as Pink Lovers and voluntary slaves to say the least. As we hit upon one of their patrols who 'escorted' us. We would of been kicked out until an unusual captain went to see what we wanted.

Can ask Urgsha questions this turn. The guy we are allowed to talk to is Captain Morgan. Who had led the warband from not so long ago...

Radio provided to team. Questions are available. Captain Morgan has given us the codes to access a secure channel if we wished to talk or something.

We offer assistance in providing intel and scouting to aid any actions the they would like to do against the bandits, we aren't many in numbers but we're willing to do what's neccessary, We could also mention that we are open to favorable trade, paying tribute isn't the only way we can give them things, there are friendlier ways as well.

If we find ourselves under besiege by them, we know not how long our shields may hold, though it should be noted that Aduro Industries shielding is far superior to any you'll find on the market and that however long we do last we garauntee none will match. Ah, but I digress, what we are really looking in to is potential aid in case of such an attack. Surely, if we can continue to provide you and your men bigger, more advanced shielding we can negotiate a deal?"
>>

Speaking of which, do we have radio communications with her?

Our teams managed to bring back some resources this time mostly because some of our mutants hit a sheet that collapsed on them. They ended in a den of some kind strangely enough the horrific creatures in there did little more then look at them before wondering off. There our team found some rare resources.

We got two prototypes tracked and wheels. Going to have to test them out to see what we can do. The terrain out here is amazingly hostile its going to take some tinkering.

Teams went back to the strange place where our guys fell before. There we started digging around for more resources. We acquired what was left but even more interesting. The creatures were watching our forces. When one appeared and waved at some of our guys. It guided them to somewhere a sealed door where it gestured, then it disapeared. When our men came to break it open a massive amount of radiation was released enough to kill a human but only enough for a mutant to feel tingly. Inside beyond the radioactive material and some corpses. We found beyond a sealed door even more resources. After that we departed when the creatures were being drawn in and the 'corpses' started moving. After that our men swore that on their return they felt like they were being watched.

Overseer No-Mad went driving around in the vehicles. Which broke down repeatedly. The terrain is hostile ashes clog everything and the heat melts it. Not to mention it feels like being in a oven in the middle of a volcano even air conditioning didn't help much. We got a lot to work on if we want good vehicles. On the plus side though the thermal shields kept our tires from melting into uselessness.

"SSS are a special I ran into with Sinner Salsho not sure what they are about exactly as their equipment is most strange. Only know that they are super soldiers. Doubt I can get something like them available any time soon."

"tribal warriors are available thanks to some strings I pulled they are amazing at unusual warfare and scouting. It was expensive getting them though they don't like mutants but unlike others don't hate them."

"Nomads I wondered into don't know what their deal is as they wrap themselves up tight. Got some mean looking shields, armor, and weapons though."

"Sinner Salsho comes from one of the kingdoms. Was former Syn user(clean now)got put into the Protector programs. Too bad for them he cleaned up so they they didn't have the usual ties to him. Somehow found him far from home and in company of the Squad over there. From what I heard he was a criminal and addict he is clean now though and free don't know much more then that though."

>>27765588
She seems rather offended about this.

"Only time you see mutants in a caravan is only in 3 ways. They travel the wastes, they are in a bandit caravan or they are the product. As is you got lucky that I don't hold the usual prejudices and am actually willing to deal. People think way to lowly of them and I found doing otherwise gives quite the advantage."
>>
>>27765633
We have plenty of humans for the caravan if the issue is that a mutant caravan would have trouble trading. (not entirely sure what the reason she's offended is)

I still support us trying to hire salsho and the SSS
>>
>>27765633
"Well, we'd be happy to speak with your engineers and mechanics and see what they have to say."

In the meantime, as for trade:
>Hydrogen
>resources 2
>Hi-Tech(biomods and medical)
These are necessity. Purchase these to the maximum limit first.
>Vehicles(hover and tracked tanks tracked APCs)
These are desirables.

Will trade food, water, and shields for them.
>>
>>27765730
I don't think we can risk an additional bonus to rep, as is we have a disadvantage of being both human and mutant (caught between the wrath of two worlds).

The nomads seem interesting. But Graz are potentially very useful for radiation and dangerous energy experiments.
>>
>>27765826
*an additional penalty to rep

Hire them how exactly and offer them what?

She is offended because she is very independent, has many trade secrets and is well aware how bad for business you would be.

>>27765795
The usual huh? Very well then.

Biomods(heat tolerance, Ash filter, and Iron lungs) Medical is basicaly medicine(hi-tech) surgical tools and medicinal healing units. VERY expensive both types.

Resources VERY expensive as well. Especially considering you want both.

Hydrogen is as usual traded for water as per the agreement.

Luckily we have the stores for it but damn does Isabella knows her business.

>>27765826
"Feel free to talk/bargain with the potential hires."
>>
Man it really sucks that we didn't survive the fall unmutated. Damned leaky reactors, even with the shields.

She's given us radio contact with the hires so even after this turn we can attempt to bargain with them yes?
>>
Rolled 61

>>27765978
Nope once their gone they may very well be gone forever.
>>
>>27765896
First off we offer them comfortable accomodations (I'd assume that our tower has some of the most comfortable rooms in this area that is not filled with ash and is airconditioned), We also offer them a (quite) small share in our Corporation (bigger for Salsho). We also give them a stipend to use to requsition any materials, gems, equipment they need for the job or personal reasons (within reasons).

As for the rest we want all the bio mods and the resources, we might want to consider aborting the hydrogen deal (provided our volcanic gasses covers that).
As for payment we pay food, water and upgrading the Caravan with shields and cloaking units.
I assume it's understood that us hiring the SSS and Salsho is on the down low and should not be spread around.
>>
>>27765896

>Resources
Exchange for food, water, fertilizerQ
>Hydrogen
Already agreed upon

Ask the SSS and Sinner Solsho what their starting price is? We can offer advanced shields, and we'll get them some advanced energy weapons eventually. They'd also get all the food and water they could want.

We should definitely try to acquire the Nomads and Tribals, for their scouting and scavenging proficiencies.
>>
>>27766039
>>27765328
Resources are the most important. Get 2 of them. Whatever we have leftover to be used for the biomods and medicine.

"Thank you for your continued trade, Isabella. Remind your engineer's to voice any concerns or questions about potential shield imrpovements, and please tell them to actively take logs on their performance for us to make improvements. Aduro Industries greatly values customer and business partner input."

As for the contacts, let's open up individualized inquiry with them. Use Dr. Picli's speechcraft bonus.
Ask them about themselves, what are they pertaining to share, what do they think we can provide them or would like us to provide them, and how do they feel about coming under our employ?
>>
>>27766197

We NEED to recruit the Tribals and Nomads at least for their scouting and scavenging proficiency respectively.

Ideally we'd get the SSS and Sinner Solsho, but it's more than likely that they're too expensive for us.
>>
>>27766279
Yes, We add the tribals and nomads.
Hopefully we can just adopt them easily with our superior living conditions.
>>
>>27766279
Hmmm, quite. Nomads would also be good because of their affinity or familiarity to shielding technology and usage.
>>
>>27766310

You have to talk to them personally in order to see what terms they want. No one's going to join a group of (multiple different types of mutants) for cheap.

We might also consider getting more Gral. They might be able to detect what's been picking off our patrols in the tunnels.
>>
>>27766344
In addition we should also checkup on the wax skinned creatures in time. They've shown friendliness to us, have been seen to have a knowledge of the lay of the land and resources, and we have MUCH to profit should we sucessful return the favor.

Dr. Picli had to bribe them with some shields and water to get them to open up.

Graz are mutants who normally run around in the usual packs in the outlands or gangs in the ruins. Until they ran into smarties who loved to hire them thanks to their abilities ever since then its proven quite profitable for them. Sure hard business to get into but well worth it thanks to all the stuff they get.

>Contract requires tech payment to seal.

>Regular payments include food and water.

>Contract extensions require all of the above.

Are available in order to help out their tribes and home. Times can be tough having a fraction of warriors hire themselves off can help alleviate issues.
>Tribal Warriors require large food and water shipments for their tribe and a smaller fraction for themselves if only in water.

>Contract Extensions require an extra large of the above as well as tech.

Nomads go around wanting materials for their wanderings. Food and water are easy enough to get on the move refined materials/finished product on the other hand much harder.

Nomads are the strangest wanting only materials.

The demons have postulated it might be Lurklas, which are very sneaky. Monsters are possible, but they would've left a mess by now and often there aren't even smear stains on the walls.

Well looky here, we're up to our noses in the stuff. Can't even use them for resources.

These guys are a must, but others should gotten of course, but just saying we have what they want.

We hire the SSS to clear out the tunnels, and then I really mean clear out, we want whatever that has been killing our men dead, all it's relatives and friends dead, its home pissed on, shot a bit and then cleared again to make sure everything is dead. Then they get payment.

And then hire the rest.
What does Salsho ask for?

>"Shields along with 'fresh' food, 'pure' water and nice board with first pick of equipment as well as loot then you got yourselves our services for a turn or two or enough for a mission anyway."
How about selective protection? That is, we don't know when we might come under attack from. . .certain forces, but when we do we would like aid. We'd also not like to come under the attentino of them, so sending you to attack them isn't desriable.

We can provide you 7/10's of the food, water, and what tech you like. When we come under siege, we provide the rest (and a hefty bonus) for you to come to our aid.

All mutants are deformed most of the time hideously.

The memor hard large eyes, pale hair, nigh translucent skin and all manner horrific skin problems.

Graz veins glow...different colors at random. Their have two eyes lids and three eyes all in a line. Their skin has a strange husky glow. Their 'hair' is a bunch of fluffy tentacles that move around at random. They have a single large eyebrow that pulses seemingly at random with the hair going straight out.

The demons well look like demons.

The Urgsha big ass motherfuckers their skin ranges from yellowish green to orange. They don't have any hair. Their the white of their eyes blood veins are pronounced and blue in color. their eye color is completely black that seems to become larger and smaller at random with both of their eyes. Their nails end in claws their fingers thick but surprisingly nimble. Their skin is thick and can have little issue with weaker weapons. Their Jaws and neck are thick. Their teeth clearly meant for gnashing and grinding bone to dust.

ok since sss are coming back soon i have an idea on how to secure the tunnels and possibly catch one of the sneaky fucks that we just had murderized.
we set up several barrier projectors along the walls in a tunnel (3 or 4 rings of 3-5 projectors) with barriers blocking the tunnels on either side of the trap as backup containment/keep somthing else from freeing what we catch.
so basicly when somthing comes into the center of our trap all the projectors activate and just create an ever shrinking ball of barriers until whatever is inside can no longer move (or is crushed to death oops) which we can then figure out how to deal with it best

Demons attended thanks to Dr. Picli checking in they even brought some of their own strange cuisine.

Mercs stuck around for the celebration even the Salvage mercs though they left afterwards payment in hand.

The Urgsha meanwhile were quite loss their hatred of humans and having no knowledge in this made them bad company. They didn't cause any trouble though for some reason. Captain Morgan meanwhile desperately tried convincing us to ditch the humans and 'stay pure' basically going into detail about the evils of humanity and injustices. ok since we got the shields set up for the traders we should now work on our own (if i remember correctly our tanks can stealth but only for a short time) depending on what the problem is i have a suggestion:
1. if the problem is somthing faulty/hardware cant handle extended running we need to do further work on the actual shield
2. if the problem is simply that it takes too much energy we should work on making a good vehicle portable form of energy storage. this would be good for the initial purpous and also later in the game when we find people who are interested in buying energy we will have the ability to give them a truckload of charged batteries

They found suspicious areas that couldn't be access(until the found tunnels that had been secretly made even around our base). Which all hinted at facilities of some kind. They areas seemed to all over the place.

Purge- Those sickened can get their entire body flushed.

Gateway- Can open a portal to strange realm...

Mad Science

So we created some batteries...though I don't think we can call them that anymore as in their a literal sphere of energy that cannot seem to burn out(or rather you just have to spark it to get it working again). Also Dr. Picli sorta can turn into a being of PURE energy now. About all that its a Long story involving Mr. Light who showed up to help.

In any case it turns out a Aduro Corp Reunion has commenced. As Mr. Light has returned in order to bring the world out of the darkness and into the light once more. In that regard he has a reunion so plans can be determined.

The Nomads were wondering around the world in order to get a hold of Aduro interests and earn their trust/loyalty. So that way they would all attend.

Nomahur- Nomads turned out to be mutants and humans. Most prevelant being the Nomahur.

>>27771787
Of course of course.
It's just, what with all these delicious treats poured forth, one tends to get hungry.
>>
>>27771787
>>27771815

Yeah, we should definitely delve into shields, and lasers now. I guess our reactor and geothermal spike are obsolete now that we have infinite energy 'batteries' (though the reactor still produces weapons-grade uranium...and we have a ninja that can infiltrate anywhere.)

And expansion to our manufacturing abilities is important, but I think the Mobile Fortress probably has extensive manufacturing centers, and our base had large manufacturing abilities, we just didn't have the resources to use them. So I'd rank it below improving our shield and laser (defensive and offensive) technologies.
>>
>>27771767
This time we'll be offering Isabella a seat on the board for our appreciations of her efforts. With enough time, I'm sure the prospect of a fleet of caravans under her personal control will be tempting to say the least.

All in due time of course. All in due time.
>>
>>27771815

Control your hunger! That's just Umbra Corp. infiltrating your brain! Listen to this man! >>27771787
And this one! >>27771868

Infrastructure! Secure our Tower, then secure our Mobile fortress and Mobile Bases, then secure our volcano, then secure our area!

Securing the Volcano is far more daunting than we might've guessed before our glorious scouts discovered all of the tunnels below us, but it is incredibly important.
>>
So here's an idea, we talk to Captain Morgan and see who's above him in the chain of command...then use our Ninja to eliminate them, thereby getting a friendly Commander of the Urgsha forces that owes us a favor.

We might or might not want to discuss this with him first. It would depend on that roll, also might want to try to see how intense his loyalty/anti-humanism is.

Malzon

Started of a simple child who always loved exploring. then one day he ran into our scouts with his small pack and joined us. After all it was a perfect excuse to leave the city ruins and explore what lied beyond.

Lootcha Skav

Since he was born could always find, take and fix then improve whatever it was. Thus he quickly rose the ranks and grew ever increasingly skilled. When he was little more then a boy he was already a master and when he he hit puberty he was the Grand master.

MK Ninja was a scout and average member of the journey who loved sneaking up on people, snatching things, and being a test subject(even if it means 'testing'(taking) experimental things). He was real troublemaker but valuable in the fact he always volunteered for dangerious scouting or experiments. Dr. Picli was rather fond of him thanks to that.

Living Water
Simply existed then one day felt a call and found a world that could use some help...so helped it did. It seems though that for the most part it largely floated around from wherever it came from aimlessly unless something caught its interest.

Right. We are literally and figuratively standing on what could be the next biggest bomb since the Great Storm of Memor and the Continental Crusade.

Presuming we even do something remotely that we'll have to discuss it to him carefully, subtly. He may be so loyal the the very notion could mean war.

Speaking of careful speech, our illustrious neighbors could prove quite the potent allies. I wonder if the world of socio-economics and politics would prove remotely interesting to them.

Chill out there bro, I chided fuckers left and right in the Memor threads about jumping ahead. I know how to be careful.

We may have several Mobile Bases and a Mobile Fortress, but none of those are military-oriented, we still don't have weapons tech or military training.

However, we now have what would've been a fortune back in the swamp...so a fuck of a lot more than that in our current situation.

In other words: We sit upon a treasure trove, and have no means of defending it.

>>
>>27772254

We're not even at hell and nature yet. We're not even on taking down the Heart of the Swamp yet. We couldn't take down Clora'Zel as she stood at the Fall of the Memor yet.

The Mobile Fortress is specialized as a Corporate HQ/Manufacturing hub, it probably has defense weapons but it isn't a military fortress and (while I'm sure it has security forces) its members aren't particularly combat-trained.

The Mobile Bases probably have more weaponry proportionally than the Mobile Fortress, because they were nomad bases and so had to be able to defend themselves wandering the world...their inhabitants are likely proportionally more skilled at combat, but still aren't military or even paramilitary tier.

This is a great boon, but it's no where near an instant-win button. We basically have hugely expanded Megacorp. Remnants capabilities with a heavy helping of Nomad civ. abilities.

We'll need to invest into our research, and come up with ways to defend ourselves...then ways to fight back at other people...then we'll have to learn how to fight back or get people who can do it for us. And in the meantime we're MASSIVE SOFT TARGETS for every other big player in the region who worked for what they have.
>>
>>27772275
i would say that that was a compliment, you always found ways of letting us know that we werent on top without actualy shitting on us(unless the rolls let you) you run a great quest ede and personaly i wouldent hold it against you if you decided that a global civ was too much for you to process and just give us a continental expantion. but i know whatever you come up with will be fantastic.

Okay, I've mulled it over and have some questions:

Do the Mobile Bases and Mobile Fortress have their own food production and water supplies/recycling systems?

What sort of combat ability do the Mobile Bases and Fortress have? Research facilities? Manufacturing facilities?

What Aduro Ind. research have we acquired from getting into contact with all of the remnants, and from the Mobile Fortress HQ? I'm guessing very little because 'the research facilities were mostly looted (filthy Umbra). Do we have the facilities to reproduce the tech required to take advantage of this research?

You know that if you control the Memor you have to make them behave sufficiently Chaotic Evil right? Or make something up about how the Many became One (that is, /tg/ became just you).

What's covered under "A cheap shot action per turn"?
What's covered under a "Water Action"?
We get one Research action (can mimic Mad SCIENCE without the usual penalty/danger) and one MAD SCIENCE action per turn, right?
What's covered under "free scavenge action"?
What's covered under "free scouting action"?

We get 3 or 4 basic actions per turn now, right?

Can we get an updated Weapons list?

What size and power output are our infinite-energy batteries? Man-portable? Do they render, say, our nuclear reactor obsolete? And do we have the ability to manufacture them?

Do we have the ability to manufacture our let's call them Phase Shields? (the stealth shields)

Back to the 'batteries'. Can we expect just a general increase in how good our shields are, because they now have such a god-tier powersource, or will we need to do a turn or two of research to integrate them into the shields?

Do the Mobile Bases+Fortress have shields and/or lasers integrated into them?

Additionally, I'd like to present a further consideration of an unpleasant meta-knowledge related possibility to the Board the players.

We have been down into the tunnels and had our scouts taken out by an extremely stealthy, ruthless/deadly and precise enemy that 'slithers'.
The Memor's Tectus were reptilian.
There are tunnels coated in flesh below our base.

Now, if it IS the Memor down there, we are obviously in an extremely delicate situation. We would have to ally or eliminate them with extreme haste. More on that later.

If the Memor are below us, and the Urgsha find out...the Urgsha are mutant purists and the Memor were about the most pure expression of mutant purism that the Post-Apoc has seen. Right before their final battle, they directed one of the most fierce streams on monsters the Post-Apoc has ever seen on their human BANDIT ALLIES! Their ALLIES! Not even the human bandit ENEMIES they had been at war with, but their allies! This demonstrates their absolute hate of humans, as they sacrificed the strategic advantage of destroying their enemies (who had been concentrated into one base that would've been completely wiped out) to do penance for associating with filthy humans!

That sort of extremism, this humble Board Member believes, would ring strongly with the Mutant Purist Urgsha.

Recruiting the Urgsha would be the only practical way to kill the Memor (we ourselves have little to no experience in the ways of combat, as was demonstrated repeatedly with our patrols when they were unable to defend themselves against the smallest numbers of monsters or zombies)..but as has been discussed, the Urgsha would likely kill us for suggesting such a thing.

So, pending more information...if it is confirmed that it is the Memor below us, we must do whatever it takes to ally them. Otherwise we will face a militant mutant faction below us, and one of two dominant paramilitary factions in the area coming at us from the land.

I'd certainly like to see it, maybe as a pastebine.
Even the us corporate remnants know of the legends of their brilliant minds.

>we must do whatever it takes to ally them.
Dear god man, do you have any idea what you are saying? Even supposing the legends prove true (and personally there are some of us here who still think the wicked Memor are a superstition to explain the great storm and the crusade, or made up story told by mothers to bad children) the Memor turned on their own allies! Celebrated the event with fireworks and music in a horrific slaughter that killed those members with monsters (don't you know the stories? It was a dark sacrificial ritual to their cursed gods to summon the terrible storm and creatures from hell). We cannot trust them!

Additionally, fellow board member, your innate knowledge of this terrifying race is startling. It's almost as if you were divinely inspired or had some other wordly source.

alright, the story is told in 3 segments now. I'm trying to leave it open in case EDE wants to use it as an NPC faction, and because I want to leave the heroes open to being Evil or Good.

Here you go. http://pastebin.com/ya1s3zgS

The 'fluff' is told in a short narrative, an Overseer's report, and a pamphlet/propaganda advertisement after the Dr. takes over.

The pamphlet somewhat develops my ideas on how it would work, and tries to differentiate it slightly from the Memor hivemind. I'll likely expand on those points later.

Heh.

Hmm, interesting take on it. I love it.
I was thinking of elaborating on Mentis Industria myself. And I'll try to ensure that any similarities (no mutation needed, potentially less "One"ism) end there.
To the best of my abilities of course.

Speaking of which, I wonder how our other remnant brothers are/will react to the return of Mr Light (how is it being spread? By word of mouth? oh dear). There are factions out there who believed Mr. Light a myth. There are also factions out there that are extremely devoted to the corporate cult (we treat it at best as formal tradition, at worst as a supersition), some more radical but unconfirmed reports are of one or several remnants even commiting live sentient sacrifices. In addition reports those same remnants being directly aided by the energy gods of the cult are most concerning. If these things are true. . .even if Mr. Light is with us. . .their loyalty will not be assured, not by a long shot.

More on that in time.
