You clamber out of the car, looking around.

Dojima motions you to hurry up, and you begin to follow him.

Soon, you find yourself near that table you've passed on your way to school. Off in the grass, there's a crouched over figure- female, from the looks of that dress- petting a dog.


A glance at the table shows that a bag is sitting there, along with a small bowl.

Probably the food mentioned.

"Hey!" Dojima shouts, waving. "We're here."

The girl stands, turning to face you. Looks like she's wearing a dress and blouse.

"Ah, there you are." She says in cheerful voice, smiling as she approaches. In this light, you can see her a bit more clearly. Dark brown hair, about neck length and loose. The blouse is more like what you'd expect someone to wear to work- it even has the logo of that hobby shop embroidered on its shoulder... So this is the girl who saved the shop. "Good to see you again, Mr. Dojima. And you must be his nephew."

"Yeah, yeah." Dojima replies, shaking his head with a sigh. "Get the information you need from Yu so we can go home. It's a school night, after all."

You shrug.

"Anyway, what I saw wasn't anyone I'd consider a true love. I saw a woman I -think- was Mayumi Yamano getting chased down and killed by Shadows."

Dojima's expression changes. You can't quite tell if he's angry or shocked. Or worried.

"So I checked to see if it was real, and my hand went through the screen." You continue, shaking your head. "Something latched on, and I got pulled through."

"I found myself talking to a yellow-eyed copy of, well me, who introduced himself as 'Yu Narukami's Shadow', and said he pulled me to kill me, but evidently made a mistake."

This gets a raised eyebrow from Minako.

"So, it was able to talk?" She asks, looking at you oddly. "And was humanoid? That's... Rare. Even moreso when they're courteous. "

"No kidding." You shake your head. "Anyway, we talked, he opened an exit for me, and I went to bed. The next day- yesterday, actually- I, uh... Basically told Hanamura, Satonaka, and Amagi about the midnight channel part, noticed... Something outside of the metalworks."

She nods.
"Yeah, I know what that thing is. That friend of mine I mentioned clued me in. It's nothing to worry about for us." Minako sighs. "Of course, if she were in town, she'd have probably noticed you already."

...Interesting.

"Anyway, after that, I went home, and decided to see what I could find out about that other world." You shrug. "I went back into the TV, and that Shadow and I started exploring."

"Turns out that there's an entire 'Shadow-Inaba' there, filled with a yellow fog. The Shadow I mentioned and I made our way to the middle of it, avoiding Shadows, and found a big pagoda where Junes would be. We were hiding in an empty office building when heard chains rattling."

Minako's face goes pale at that.

"Don't tell me..." She whispers. "Big black thing. Guns. Chains."

...You nod. Seems like she's encountered it before.

"The Reaper shouldn't be here." She mutters, shaking her head. "Tatarus is gone. He's holding her back. It should have vanished."

"...We ran. Like death itself was after us." You continue, getting interrupted again.

"It was."

...Well shit.

"...That's disturbing." You manage to get out. "Especially since I stabbed it in the face about five hours ago and ran."

Dojima's expression is hard to tell at this point. Either he's REALLY angry, or REALLY worried. You can't quite tell, but if you had to guess... Both.

"Anyway." You continue, shaking your head after the lull. "We made it into the pagoda, that Shadow called it a 'Dungeon', and said something about it being someone's weaknesses and self-doubts given form. Unfortunately, the run, plus narrowly escaping death left me exhausted. The Shadow pulled out some sort of charm that got us back to the place I went in at."

"I crashed, and when I woke up today, went to school. Satonaka and Hanamura weren't there, and Amagi seemed worried, so I asked what was up."

"Turns out that Satonaka wasn't answering calls, and hadn't been seen since she said she was going to Junes last night."

"So she got pushed into a TV at Junes?" Dojima asks, shaking his head.

You nod.

"...That punk kid who's been beating up gangs?" Dojima asks, shaking his head. "Don't tell me you brought him in on it too..."

"...So, I showed the two of them, told them about that pagoda, and we decided to stage a rescue." You continue, pretending to ignore the muttered complaint. "I took Nanako home, told the Shadow where to meet me, and met with Amagi and Tatsumi at Junes, where I opened the TV-portal for them."

Both Dojima and Minako groan.

"I admit, you didn't have much information." Minako says, shaking her head. "But that was just stupid. Taking two teenagers into a world filled with Shadows without even planning a day?"

"Hey, I was working with what I had, and thought that if I took this to the police, it'd just sound crazy.' You say defensively. "I had no idea about this 'Security Department' until about fifteen minutes ago."

Dojima rubs his forehead, before signaling you to go on.

"We got in there, and met... I guess a Shadow in the shape of a bear, who called himself 'Teddie', on the platform we landed on." You continue, shaking your head. "There was a presence like the one by the metalworks, but nothing solid. I took a glance over the edge, saw something at the bottom of the pagoda that confirmed itself as the Shadow I had met last night, and then saw it getting into a fight with... Something."

Minako seems to take notice of the name, but says nothing.

"...The nightclub was filled with Shadows, wasn't it?" Dojima asks, holding his head again.

"Yeah, but that's not all it had. I got separated from the others, and met a thing that looks like Hanamura, but with red eyes." You reply. "It wasn't his Shadow, but it was a lot like it, and it tried to kill me as soon as it met me."

...Dojima's expression is again halfway between worry and anger.

"I beat it, and it dropped a mask and headphones." You continue, setting the masks on the table. "We went through the place and eventually found the REAL Hanamura and his real Shadow."

"Exactly. We beat his Shadow, he accepted it, and awoke his own Persona." You say, nodding. "With one person rescued, we realized that Satonaka must be in the pagoda below us, and went in."

"It was extremely disturbing to go through something with relatively few Shadows like that, especially since we kept coming to rooms that looked like they were set up for something big and nasty to fight us in." You continue, shaking your head. "Until Hanamura pointed out the fact that Satonaka is a martial-arts flick fan, and then it made sense."

"We made our way down, until we came to the first floor, which was horribly damaged. I'm talking rubble, holes everywhere, scorch marks, the works. That motivated us to find Satonaka and get out. Hanamura and I went down a hatch we found, and basically found Satonaka and her Shadow having an argument."

"We didn't get very far before it went berserk, and the fog cleared. Hanamura and I started to fight it, until I noticed sounds of fighting coming from where we had left Amagi, Tatsumi, and the bear. Turns out there was a red-eyed Satonaka up there, and Amagi somehow awakened a Persona while fighting it."

"So I left Hanamura to deal with the real Shadow while I helped Amagi with the fake one, and it dropped the second of these masks." You tap the 'Chariot' mask, getting a nod from both. "Luckily, Amagi's Persona came with some healing, so we patched up , then noticed that Teddie was missing."


"Hanamura and I went to retrieve him. He was terrified of something, and as it turned out, the Reaper was stalking the bottom floor, hunting for that Shadow I had met."

Minako sighs.

"You rescued your Shadow from the Reaper." She says, clutching the bridge of her nose. "Probably at personal risk."

"...Yes." You reply sheepishly. "Not my best idea, but hey, it worked."

"I hid, stabbed the Reaper in the face, and that Shadow and I ran off. When we got to the roof, the Reaper seemed to stop following us, and we relaxed."

"Hanamura and Satonaka explained what had happened to them, and we agreed that we'd work to hunt down whatever it was that did it." You continue. "Then Amagi and I both had a key suddenly appear in our pockets."

"Turns out that presence was a door to-"

"A place called the Velvet Room." Minako interrupts, shaking her head. "You met with 'Igor', he told you about Persona, and... What else?"

I wound up involved too, after I bumped into one of his friends." She continues, sighing sadly. "In the end, though, that incident ended, and he died the day after graduation."

"Perception-related?" You ask. Seems she knows a LOT more than you do...

"Think of them as 'Support', to the 'Combat' ones that most have." She replies, shrugging. "I never really got how they worked. Something about connecting to something or another. A friend of mine has what's got to be the most powerful one in recent years, and she sensed something up here from halfway across the country. When we arrived, the trail was cold, but I still felt something was off."

"The fake-Shadows spewed that kind of smoke when they were wounded." You say to Minako, thinking back.

"I've fought things that do the same." Mianko replies, evidently checking on her firearm, before muttering. "Wish she had left that one with me this time."

The smoke disappears under the crest of the hill, and you can feel an oppressive presence nearby...
