The cigarillo you were smoking earlier already nothing more than a bitter memory on your tongue. You find your squashed, double-spare pack, and you coax a bent cigarette from it. A click from your zippo and a puff of smoke, and you could breathe again.

"I've received word from 2020 Productions - Kirishima's agency and our de facto client - that they will be cutting the operation time by half. Meaning, the mission ends formally tomorrow morning."

The official excuse, which will be released to news agencies tomorrow, is that Kirishima has come down with a temporary illness that requires a lot of bed rest. There will be refunds, I imagine, and televised apologies. Of course, they're still paying for the entire duration - this was after the contract with us was signed, after all." He looks at you. "I'm sure you're very disappointed. You were looking forward to spending more time with the principal, weren't you?"
