>Rolls and Persona Quest
When I call for a roll, I'll select the highest of the first three rolls made in response to the post calling for it. Natural 1's and natural 20's within the first five rolls count as critical failures or successes, and override the first three roll rule. Natural 1's and 20's negate each other. Only rolls linked to the post asking for them count, unless they are acting as corrections to misrolls that are linked to the proper post.

>Character sheet updates!

Unclear. It's not part of the game, it's a quest feature. But the Devil Arcana represents bondage and enslavement. Specifically, it represents how people get too attached to concepts and ideals and can't grow as a result. So...read into that what you will.

Looking at Yosuke and Chie, they've lowered their hands and seem to be relaxing.

...Teddie pokes his head out from behind his hiding spot.

"But... He smells like those masks..."

....

>Don't worry, eh's a pretty cool guy.

"Even if he does, he kept me from dying due to my own screw up," You say, turning to Teddie. "Besides, other than pulling me into the TV, he's done nothing harmful to me."

...This seems to satisfy him, and Teddie carefully removes himself from the 'hiding' place.

"Well, all right..." He starts, doubt obvious in his voice. "If you're beary serious...."

You nod. He may be suspicious, but he's been helping you, after all.

"Alright." Yosuke says, knocking you out of your thoughts. "We need to talk about what we're doing."

Chie looks at him oddly, but both Yukiko and Kanji nod, seemingly knowing where this is going...

"Satonaka, you remember that thing that threw us in here?" He asks, looking to Chie. "I think we all need to find it and take it down."

Chie seems to think about it for a moment, but nods.

"Yeah, that's too dangerous to be running around loose." She says, punching her palm.

"Exactly what I thought." Yosuke says, shaking his head.

"Thing is... I can't really do this sort of thing." He shakes his head. "I'm not a good leader at all."

...You have a suspicion where this is going...

"So I suggest we let Narukami do it!"

Called it.

Looking at the faces of your fellow students and the Shadows, you-

We take the lead. We've been more or less doing it so far, how will making it official be any different? As our first action as leader, we should order everyone who can leave the Shadow realm to do so. Yosuke and Chie are still reported as missing, they need to get home (note: tease Yosuke if rumors about them disappearing together come up). Sure, going off to find the thing that did this is tempting, but we're in no shape to do so at the moment. For now we'll just get each others' cell phone numbers so we can keep in contact, then head back home to recover for next time.

Speaking of homes, where do the Shadows live? Shadow Yu's room was wrecked by the Reaper, and I don't know where Teddie lives. Are those two going to be alright?

This, but we need Kanji to put teddy and Shadow Yu in his home. Heck, teddy can be in yukiko as a teddie bear.

But the problem is shadow yu.
>>
>>27667394
Well, we don't know if Shadows can leave this world. Sure, Teddie does in canon, but that's after he develops a Persona and grows a human body. And who knows what Shadow Yu can do. Hell, we're not even sure exactly what he is, at the moment.
>>
>>27667394
Shadow Yu seems like it knows what's on the up and up. Offering to take it home might raise suspicion with everyone else and it's waiting for it's Yu, so we could offer to escort it to a safer place.

Be nice, you know?
>>
>Don't expect me to be competent
>But you have to call me-

You sigh. No avoiding this.

"Alright, first things first." You say, pinching the bridge of your nose. "I've made it this far on luck alone. Plain and simple."

...They don't seem to be worried.

"Don't sweat it. You're doing better on the fly than I could with planning." Yosuke says, waving it off. "'sides, you really don't want me in charge."

"You'll do fine." Yukiko says, nodding. "You got us through that alive, after all."

You sigh again.

"Alright. On ONE condition." You say, as the group begins to pay attention.

"You call me Chief. Or Captain. Or Optimus Prime. Or... You get the idea."

...You can hear the mental facepalms.

"Of course, sensei!" Teddie says in his overly cheerful voice. "I'll keep on calling you sensei!"

...God dammit, Teddie.

"Jokes aside, I'm willing to do this." You continue, getting a few sighs of relief.

"Alright then." Yosuke says, nodding. "From now on, we're the Inaba Special Investigation Team."

"And our goal is to hunt down that masked freak who threw me and Satonaka in here," He continues, getting nods from the others and yourself. "And put a stop to him."

"Yeah."

"Indeed."

"Yep."

"Sure thing!"

...The Shadow is noticeably quiet.

"Uh, bud. I think it might be a bad idea if I stick with you all for your investigating." He says, rubbing the back of his head. "I'll help out in acting on them, just not in performing them."

Yosuke shrugs when you look at him.

"Your call, 'Chief'."

Wouldn't we demand to be called "Battle Convoy", not Optimus Prime? Just saying. We are in Japan, we'd use the Tomy-Takara names, not the Hasbro ones.

Anyway, I'm fine with Shadow Yu sitting out the majority of the investigations. He's somehow connected to the False Shadows, he might be susceptible to influence by whatever is controlling them. Hell, we know he has some control on him, keeping him from saying what he is. If he feels it isn't safe for him to be around while we're trying to uncover the secrets, I'd say we trust him.

Straight-up ask Yukiko about the Velvet Room and Igor.

...We have been to the Velvet Room already, right? I forget.
>>
>>27669917
Well then. Looks like Yukiko's going to have her fortune told.

And it looks like she's going to have to Social Link it up, too. Note to self: don't step on her toes with the Rank 10 Strength. Hell hath no fury.

(And who are we going to get for our Priestess, then, if Yuki's a Fool?)

>>27670011
'course it is.
>>
>>27670017
You've been IN the Velvet Room, briefly, at the start of your Strange Journey.
>>
>>27670017
We have: Igor offered us a choice of cards, and we took the whole deck.

But unless the key is a most peculiar shade of blue (which I seem to remember that it is, in-game: is it here, OP?) then we don't have any IC reason to connect the key to the Room yet.
>>
>>27669917
So Yukiko's a Wild Card, too? Or at least she can access the Velvet Room. I'm not sure how I feel about that. She already copied our "no Shadow confrontation" thing, now she gets the other Protagonist special trait? Will all our party eventually get to visit the Velvet Room, then? That could be a cool result for having taken the whole deck instead of a single card.

Well, let's ask Yukiko if she's got a weird key in her pocket, then. We can compare them, see if they're the same sort of thing. Magic keys appearing in peoples' pockets unbidden is weird and deserves bringing attention to.
>>
>>27670048
>(And who are we going to get for our Priestess, then, if Yuki's a Fool?)

You don't need a Fool Arcana to have a Wild Card, it's just more likely. ALL of the Persona 1 and 2 playable characters could equip multiple Personae, meaning they were ALL Wild Cards.
>>
>>27669917
We got Yosuke, Yukiko and Kanji as S-Links all at once, but no Chie? What's up with that, lady? Is this because we left during the fight with Shadow Chie to back up Yukiko? Or just because of the lesser time we've interacted with her, compared to the dungeon crawling we did with the others?
>>
>>27670162
Yes.
>>
>>27670180
So it's one of those reasons, and it's NOT that it's the Fool social link for the entire Investigation Team?
>>
>>27670180
I really should have learned by now, shouldn't I? Whatever, we'll still get her S-Link. She'll let us help her through her personal growth whether she likes it or not, damn it!

Yep. One of those. Not saying which, but it's one of them.

Pulling the key out of your pocket, you examine it...

Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Yukiko doing the same.

...They're the same key.

The others are looking at both of you with odd expressions.

"...Alright, this is odd." You say, getting a nod from Yukiko. "Any of you suddenly have a key in your pocket?"

...Only ou and Yukiko seem to have the keys...

Why is Marie worst girl? She was actually a pretty cute tsundere. As far as I'm concerned she was a very nice change from what people typically think of when they here the word 'tsundere' these days.
>>
>>27676367
She doesn't really have any traits that make tsundere "cute". In fact she doesn't have feelings for you until you get the lovers flag (which I have to admit is a nice change of pace), so she's really not one, and just a rude bastard
>>
>>27676715
Actually she does. When you read one of her poems it says, 'You Killed Me
You are a murderer
By your silent smile, by your composed voice,
By your dark eyes, by your bashful fingers
I am slain.
I am a corpse.
Foolish, wretched, happy.
Surely, I’ll simply rot away….
My last words….
adieu, au revoir….mon cheri(french for my love or my sweetheart, a term of endearment.'

She then calls you murderer in her little word babble. It even counts as a little bit of myth lore since Yu has Izanagi and she is Izanami-no-mikoto

You sigh at the noise.

"Alright. I'm going to go check on that." You say, turning and heading towards the ladder. "Probably best if it's just me that goes."

You can hear confused murmuring among the rest of your group, but pay it no mind as you start climbing.

Eventually arriving at the top, you look around...

Nothing really seems out of place, aside from the door where you had felt that presence earlier...

Wait. Door?

As you carefully approach to investigate, you hear the sound of footsteps behind you.

Turning, you see the rest of your group in various states of climbing off the ladder and looking around.

From the new shine it's taken, it looks like they're related...

Sensing a change in the door's presence, you make up your mind.

Time to open this door.

Reaching out to it, you give the handle a turn, and it creaks, opening outwards slowly.

Looking in, you see the limo from when you awakened, with the large nosed man waiting, hands bowed in his seat. To his left is a woman dressed in blue, who turns to look at you.

You step into the room, ignoring the shouts of surprise from your companions as you do so.

The door creaks shut behind you as you sit down.

"Good to see you again." You say, stepping up to the table, before turning to the woman. "I'm guessing that you're Igor's assistant, Miss...?"

"Margaret." She says, nodding. "And your guess is correct. I am here to serve as a guide to those on journeys of self discovery."

"So, you're here to help me." You say, getting another nod from her. "Good to know."

Igor seems to rouse himself again, adjusting his seating to look directly at you.

"Several actions yesterday have altered the path you shall take." He says, shaking his head. "The source of these actions is hidden from me, but you have seen their results already."

"You mean how Hanamura and Satonaka were thrown into the TV, don't you?" You ask after a moment.

"Indeed I do." He replies, before looking you in the eye. "Now, I notice that you have... Obtained a Persona. Excellent."

"How exactly does that work? Hanamura and Satonaka got their own by assimilating their Shadows, but Amagi and I.... didn't. Is that related to the keys we just got, somehow?" You ask.

Igor's eyebrows rise at that.

"My my. You certainly have been busy." He says, grinning. "Though the latter development is quite interesting."

"In the case of most, a Persona is gained when they face an unpleasant truth about themself, often in the form of a Shadow Self, and come to accept it. The Persona acts as a symbol of their new revelation." He continues, holding out one hand. "However..."

"A being can be granted a Persona by a sufficiently powerful entity, bypassing the 'facing oneself' requirement. Their initial powers are, alas, less well suited than a natural Persona, yet have far greater potential as the person's power is added to the gifted power."

"And, of course, there are artificial Persona, made through human effort and science, but you are unlikely to encounter any during your stay here." He finishes, clasping his hands back together.

"...So Amagi and I had ours granted to us?" You ask, after a moment to digest everything.

"Of this Amagi you speak, most certainly. Your own, I cannot say."

...Not encouraging.
"Alright. Next, what is a Wild Card?" You say, shaking your head. "Both Satonaka and Hanamura had two Shadows that I fought, and only one turned into a Persona. The non-Persona one of Satonaka called me that in an odd voice before it was destroyed."

Igor seems to think about that for a moment, before Margaret speaks.

"A Wild Card is a person with the capacity to use multiple Persona." She says, holding up the book at her side. "I have the ability to record Persona in this tome, for later recalling"

...Huh. Another burst of that information seems to seep into your brain with that information. Merely think of the Persona that you want to use to summon it, huh?

>THE KEYS
"...You know, you never answered me about the keys." You say, turning slightly to face Igor again. "Why do both I and Amagi have them, and what do they do?"

"They allow one to access the Velvet Room." He says, shaking his head. "If there are two now, there will most certainly be more later."

That doesn't sound too bad...

"Which is a pity, since the Velvet Room is currently unable to support much more than one Wild Card due to our master's absence." He continues, letting realization form.

"But worry not. As I said, I suspect our fortunes are soon taking a turn for the better. Just recently, a new well of power we can draw upon has opened, and we shall be back to our former glory should things play out as I expect."

"...Well, that's something. Should I be worried?" You ask, looking at Igor curiously.

"Not at all." He says, shaking his head. "In fact, it should prove quite beneficial to yourself, as well."

"...Alright." You pause, thinking of your next question. "There's a... I guess bear out there that said those two Shadows I mentioned that didn't become Persona smell 'wrong'. He also said that a Shadow that looks like me and sounds like me, and claim's he 'Yu Narukami's' Shadow, but hasn't tried to attack me smells wrong."

"Know what's up with that?" You ask.

Igor is silent for a short while, seemingly thinking about his answer.

"It seems that you have proven yourself to be a figurative Wild Card, as well as literal." He says finally, nodding. "Those Shadows sound much like artificial ones. Be wary around them, for they are created to kill and -replace- the original, not merely a person's defense mechanism for their own faults."

"It sounds very much like this Shadow of which you speak has taken on the aspects of the Fool arcana, and perhaps even some of the reversed aspects. Recklessness and rebellion first among them." He continues, his grin widening. "This shall be a more interesting year than I had first guessed."

>>
>>27685275
I believe this is the first time the Arcana have been mentioned. But it's not implausible that Yu could have a casual knowledge of Tarot and be able to extrapolate from there.

"Is this a Tarot thing? That would explain the numbers on the masks the artificial Shadows left behind, if they corresponded to major arcana. Yosuke's had a "I" on it, so that would be the Magician. And Satonaka's was "VII", which is Chariot, I think. So a Shadow's traits are somehow connected to their arcana, then? Is it just the major arcana that are important, or do the lesser suites matter, too?"
>>
>>27685275
"What is the black and orange thing dragging people into TV? What did it mean when we chose the Deck over one of the cards? Did that make me a Wild Card, or something else?"
>>
>...Clusterfuck, huh?
>Tarot thing?
>Orange and black monster

"This is just a huge mess, isn't it?" You ask, reaching up to rub the bridge of your nose.

"Oh, quite possibly the worst I have intervened in in more than a decade." Igor replies, his tone one of joy. "Which is quite revitalizing, since it means the game is once more in motion."

"Fear not, though. You, I am quite certain, are safe from having a Shadow form of you, natural or artificial." He continues, getting a look of surprise from you. "I cannot say why at this moment, but you may rest assured that no such Shadow will spontaneously appear to harass you."

"Alright." You say, shaking your head. "You mentioned the Fool. Is that a tarot thing? It would explain the marks on these masks those fake Shadows dropped. Magician and Chariot, if I recall the deck correctly."

You set the masks on the table, getting a look of surprise from both Igor and Margaret.

"My, my... " Igor says, looking at them. "This year keeps getting more and more interesting..."

"These appear to be the catalysts used to form the Shadows you vanquished." He says after a moment's examination. "If these were regained by their creator, they could be called forth once more."

"Alas, I cannot keep these in here." He shakes his head sadly. "I must ask that you keep them in a safe place instead of taking them into my care."

...You get to hold onto the monster forming masks. Fun.

"One more thing," You say, getting a small snort from Margaret. "Both Hanamura and Satonaka said a black-suited clown with an orange mask threw them-"

Igor's hands slam onto the table, cutting you off. Looking at his face, his insane grin has vanished .

"That abomination is but a symptom of what is occuring." He says, now glaring at the masks. "It is an abomination known as JOKER, that has not been seen in more than a decade, that, when last seen, at least, relied upon a human host to grant it power."

(1/2)
>>

Gathering the masks, you give a nod to both.

"I apologize for the questioning." You say, standing up. "Thank you for the information. I'll see you two later."

Heading towards the door, you feel a spark of intuition.

"...Say, this place feels a little.. Empty." You say, turning back around. "Why do I feel like there's someone else who should be here?"

Igor just smiles.

"Ah, we had a much higher occupancy previously, when my master was still around." He says, waving offhandedly. "Perhaps it is just echoes of their presences you are feeling."

...No arguing with that.

"Alright, alright." You say, shaking your head at this. "I'm not really sure myself. But the person I was speaking to knows a lot about Shadows and Persona. At the worst, he's not against us."

Yosuke shakes his head.

"Man, first the Midnight Channel, now this. You're just full of surprises, aren't you?" He says, looking at you. "Give us a rundown."

....You passed on the basics of what Igor told you...

"...So, on top of whatever's throwing people in here, there's something making fake Shadows?" Chie asks, shaking her head. "Man, this case is getting tougher to solve the more we know..."

"No kiddin'..." Kanji says, shaking his head. "I'm having trouble believin' all of this, even havin' seen it myself..."

"Yeah." You say, looking around.

You can tell that everyone seems tired... Yosuke seems to be thinking about something,.

"You know... We aren't in the best of shape." He says, shaking his head. "We should probably leave."

"Yes..." Yukiko says, before turning to you. "You do know how to get out, don't you?"

"Yeah." You say, before pointing at the Shadow. "He can open a portal back to our world."

The Shadow shakes his head.

"Sorry, bud. I'm spent." He says, sighing.

...Of course.

"So what?" Yosuke seems upset. "Does that mean we-"

"Well, if you're willing to bear with me, I can open a portal to your world for you instead!" Teddie interrupts , seemingly starting to concentrate.

A stack of TVs falls from the sky suddenly, landing and turning on with a crackle.

They nod, pausing for a moment.

>Ask both about the day, then Kanji about relationship to fabric store, then Yukiko about odd dreams

"So," You say, cutting into the conversation. "What do you think about the weirdness that was today?"

They both seem to think about it.

"Really," Yukiko starts, shaking her head. "It's a lot to take in. I've found out that there's an entire world filed with monsters made out of the human subconscious... That I have magical powers... A whole load of things."

Kanji nods at that.

"Yeah. Looks like we're gonna be in for a wild ride..." He says, shaking his head.

"I can see that." You reply, shrugging. "But we've got to do this, since we're the only ones who can."

This gets a nod from the two.

"Say, Tatsumi..." You start after a brief lull in the conversation. "You aren't one of the Tatsumi of Tatsumi Textiles, are you?"

He expression is a bit startled.

"What's it to ya?" He asks, expression changing to something of a glare.

"I'm planning to make a doll for my cousin, and was wondering if you know any good materials to use."

...His expression changes once more to one of shock.

"Wait. You sew too?" He asks.

"I'll take that as a 'yes'." You say, shrugging. "And yeah, I'm just starting to learn. I figured it might come in handy."

He nods at this, before looking at his watch. .

"Aw, crap. Ma's gonna be pissed if I don't get home for dinner..." He mutters, shaking his head. "See you two around."

With that, he leaves, giving a wave at the two of you.

There's an awkward silence, before-

"Um, do you know what-"

"Tell me, have you had any-"

Both you and Yukiko pause, looking at each other as the questions stop.

"You first." She says, shrugging.

"Well..." You start, looking around briefly. "Have you had any odd dreams lately?"

She seems surprised by this.

"No, nothing out of the ordinary." She says, shaking her head. "When you summoned your Persona for the first time, did you see a blue light out of the corner of your eye?"

Yo OP, any word on those moonsaults?
>>
>>27695492
You know, I kind of get the feeling that Yukiko gets to be special this time around to capitalize on /tg/'s tendency to waifu hard in quests, and set up your OTP.

Am I close? Honestly, I don't mind if that's the case, personally.
>>
>>27695584
Dude its a Persona 4 quest. Everyone is the waifu.
Only for once waifuing provides mechanical benefits.
>>
>>27695611
Well, I meant it as a not-so-subtle push to get us to pick Yukiko specifically.

I haven't actually played much P4, but I know in P3 you can't actually hook up with more than one person unless you're playing the girl in P3P. Could you actually go for a legit harem in P4?
>>
>>27695637
I think it is just an implied fade to black but I am pretty sure you can.
>>
>>27695637
Pretty much really.

EVERYONE, the guys and gals all want Yu pretty damn hard. As far as actually seeing a pairing here, I'd go with Kanji over any of the other options. But that's partly because I'd like to see a thread where /tg/ picks a husbando over a waifu.

Granted, waifuing/husbandoing of all genders is what Social Links does.
>>
>>27695584
Off the mark by a bit. If Kanji had rolled better, he'd ALSO have caught sight of the light. I don't even pair Yukiko with Yu.

>>27695611
Hah. True enough.

>>
>>27695676
>But that's partly because I'd like to see a thread where /tg/ picks a husbando over a waifu.

I don't see that being terribly likely, seeing as /tg/ loves manning the /u/boats if we're playing a girl in a quest.

If the anime is anything to go by then I am pretty sure Yu isn't gay.
>>
>>27695851
Far as I'm concerned, I take the anime's worth as a grain of salt. In the game, Yu can flirt with the guys all he wants and then there's all the stuff with Teddie in Golden as well.
>>
>>27695887
At the end of the day, Yu is very definitely bi is basically what I'm saying.
>>
>>27695684
But we didn't, as far as I recall. I'm looking at the thread where we got Izanagi, and there's no mention of it. We did hear a voice calling out to us, though, that could be related.
>>
>>27696032
Speaking of Izanagi, Did we get reverse Izanagi from that card we found?
>>
>>27695684
>>27696032
If we did, tell her so. If not, tell her so, but mention the voice.
>>
>>27696067
I think it was just the Reversed Fool we found. I don't actually remember if we got a description or not.
>>
>>27695955
I always saw that as being more about trolling than genuine attraction. Not that Yu couldn't be bi, it's just that his sexual orientation doesn't have anything to do with his hitting on his friends. Yu is the king of gay chicken.
>>
>>27696117
Do I need to get the Teddie kissing screencap again? It's more than 'trolling'.
>>
>>27696067
>>27696092
Hey.

What if.

Hear me out.

What if Shadow Yu gets a natural Shadow confronting him about his conflicted feelings towards wanting to help us vs his programming as a tool of Joker/Nyarly/whatever, and he beats and and gets Magatsu Izanagi as his Persona?

Wouldn't that be cool?
>>
>>27696092
From the thread where we go it:
>A quick glance shows that it's gained a picture on it, the same as on your own card, but... Upside down, regardless of how you turn it.

So definitely the Reversed Fool. Might not be Magatsu Izanagi, but it's probably something interesting.
>>
>>27696143
Not that guy but Technically teddie Is a stuffed animal shadow who grew a body so Its iffy if he counts.
>>
>>27696178
I'd personally count it since he does identify as male and all, but that's a whole other debate than the present one.
>>
>>27696143
Teddie doesn't count. Everyone's gay for Teddie. Besides, I acknowledge that he could be bi. I just think that he mostly flirts because he's flirtatious, not because of any genuine attraction. It's the same as when he flirts with the female party members. Yu's sexual preferences are entirely unrelated to his desire to make people flustered.
>>
>>27696144
And this would be insanely badass.

Especially since Magatsu Izanagi is Izanagi after returning from the Underworld, but before washing it's filth off.
>>
>>27696217
All I was thinking was if he had the capacity to grow body's could he potentially grow a girl body?
>>
>>27696239
Especially if we get a Fusion Spell between the two of the using Magatsu Izanagi and Izanagi-no-Okami. I don't know what we'd call it, but it would be pretty amazing.
>>
>>27696253
Did he really grow a "boy" body though? Haven't played the games (when I have time I'll fix that I swear!) but so far he's come off as pretty much a non-gendered animated teddie bear. So not really a guy so much as an oversized plushy who just wants to be hugged/safe (and may or may not have a hidden sinister agenda).
>>
>Nope, ask about other weirdness

You shake your head.

"All I heard was a voice." You say.

"I heard one, too." Yukiko replies. "It said something about 'from the sea of' that got cut off, and I knew what to do to the card."

Information flashes into your head- the entire thing said by your card is instantly known.
'I art thou, thou art I... From the sea of souls, I awaken', huh? Interesting....

"Well, nothing we can do about that." You sigh. "I don't suppose you've noticed anything strange in town before today?"

She shakes her head.

"Just the fog, though... the girl working at the hobby shop has been acting oddly when I've gone by to pick up orders from the textile store."

You file that away for later as she takes a look at her watch.

"Oh, I need to be getting home now. We're a little shorthanded at the moment, so I'm chipping in." She says, giving you a wave and running off.

...

Only thing that would be even better is combining all of the Izanagi's for a combo.

>>27696316
Yes, he did grow a male human body over time. Pretty easy to find an image of it if you wanna bother.

>>27696330
Let's head on home. It's time to have a nice dinner and get some well earned rest. I'm sure Dojima and Nanako are probably wondering where we are as well.
>>
Rolled 19

>>27696316
Pretty sure he spends a fair bit of time trying to tap on to the girls.
>>
>>27696316
Probably, yeah. Teddie gets a medical examination at one point, and the results come back normal, so presumably the doctor would have commented on him being intersex or neuter. His human form is presumably male, then. Though he does get more gendered after growing a body, so he could be neuter and it's the act of acquiring neurochemistry that gives him a definite gender. He certainly doesn't have his fascination with girls until after he becomes a real boy. So it could be that it was an arbitrary choice to grow a male body instead of a female one, and that naturally lead to it imprinting a gender on him. Maybe Teddie decided to be a boy because he wanted to be more like Yu, I don't know.
>>
>>27696403
Only one way to test this. Next time we see Teddie we have to tie a giant pink ow on one of his/her/its ears.
>>
>>27696403
>Maybe Teddie decided to be a boy because he wanted to be more like Yu, I don't know.

I think this actually is his canon reason, been awhile since I've seen the scene.
>>
>>27696330
So the hobby shop girl, who we've all been guessing is Marie, responds oddly to Yukiko? Well, that has some unsettling implications if we're right about that assumption.

>Go home
We just fought a bunch of horrible monsters, got magic powers, and learned that Inaba is home to a serial killer possessed by an eldritch horror. We need a rest after all that. We'll hug our adorable cousin/ little sister, make a nice dinner, and get some sleep. Things like repairing our sword at Daidara's or telling Uncle Dojima about the TV World can come later.
>>
>So, home it is?
>>
>>27696741

>>
>>27696741
Yep. Silver Wild Card needs food badly.
>>
Can someone remind me again why we were going to tell Dojima about the TV world?
>>
>>27697013
Because there is no good reason not to.
>>
>>27697025
There's not a good reason too either. After all by doing so we basically give the rest of the group carte blanch to tell whoever they want as well.
>>
>>27697081
Well he is a detective who is trying to figure out this case and he is related to us, so he is pretty trustworthy.
He is also an adult who I imagine would be much better at fighting shadows than random fifteen year olds, even without access to his gun.
>>
>>27697125
I personally think we might wanna wait another day as to telling him. But he would indeed be better at fighting them as even without his gun, I wouldn't be surprised if he had some combat training.
>>
>>27697159
As long as we tell him I don't mind. We don't have to do it today. We should take some time to rest up anyway.
>>
>>27697125
>>27697159
To me it's more of the fact that we might be breaking the groups trust. Plus Dojima is probably not the best person to take to the TV world. He is not exactly all there, as Nanako can attest too.

Plus what about the others in the group telling their parents? Or telling the police. By talking to Dojima about this a who mess of doors open. Cause and effect is a bitch. Do remember how badly he reacted to finding out Yu was involved with the Cases in the game and that was after starting up his social link, which we aren't even close to doing here. What makes you think he would continue to let us keep going there?
>>
>>27697159
Agreed. Talk to the rest of the Investigation Team about it, first. We'll all work out together how much we're going to tell other people about this. Besides, Dojima probably isn't home tonight. He'll be working, still.
>>
>As an aside... Telling ANY of the police WILL have a consequence.

>Just not one you'd expect.
>>
>>27697190
A good point. Even if we do decide to tell him, it's way too early right now. We need to think our options through carefully rather than haphazardly considering who could bring more to the table as a party member.

>>27697225
And this does make me think that waiting to see following events after this day is a good option.
>>
>>27697190
We don't bring anyone but teens with emotional problems into the TV world anyway how would Dojima be much worse off?
To be honest the police would probably be better suited to all this anyway.
>>
>>27697190
Because we have magic powers, and he doesn't. How can he keep us from going in when he can't even enter on his own? That means it's in his interest to let us go in, because he has no other choice to deal with this case. And then he'd be coordinating with us to make sure we have the information and resources to do it safely. Or as safe as going into another dimension to fight shadow-fiends can be.
>>
>Home!

You decided to head home for dinner.

After a brief walk, you step into the Dojima residence, your coat set aside for later... Repair, you guess.

Heading into the living room, you see Dojima and Nanako sitting at the small table, eating. A place seems to be set aside for you.

"Ah, there you are." Dojima says, frown on his face. "I thought I asked you to head straight home from school with Nanako..."

"You did. But a couple of friends of mine invited me to go with them to Junes' food court, so..." You shrug. "Well, you didn't say anything about after getting home."

He chuckles.

"Well, you got me there." He says, shaking his head. "But be careful, would you? Your mother would have my head if I let anything happen to you..."

You nod and take a seat.

....

Dinner goes by quickly, and you're soon sitting and watching the news with Nanako...

>>
>>27697294
You know that everyone who goes in can get magic powers right? I mean kanji still doesn't have any.
>>
>>27697266
Because their emotional problems aren't as bad. Dojima is actively avoiding spending time with Nanako and doesn't see what he is doing. He throws himself into his work and avoids everything else, being solely focused on the murder of his wife. the worst that the Investigation teams problems get it Naoto thinking that she has to change how people perceive her gender in order to pursue the dreams of being a detective.

As for the police, read above. Plus I still feel iffy about Adachi who is also on the police force.
>>
>>27697225

>>
>>27697359

>>
>>27697328
>Talk to Nanako

>>27697350
Agreed. In the game, it was stated that the power of a person's Shadow depended on how deeply in denial they are of what the Shadow represents. And Dojima is PRETTY deep in the denial department.
>>
>>27697294
He can force us to just act as a bridge between the real world and the TV world for the police. We don't have jack shit on him, because if we refuse we are saying to him that we are willing to people die if it means that he will let us continue to get involved. No one takes a teenager as seriously as they do an adult.
>>
>>27697328
>Talk to Dojima

>>
>>27697350
>Dojima is actively avoiding spending time with Nanako and doesn't see what he is doing.
I thought he just kept getting shafted by people getting sick and stuff. I remember at least one time he stuck Adachi with all the work so he could hang out with Nanako at some fair.
Also whats wrong with Adachi? He's such a friendly fellow.
>>
>>27697387
Yeah but if he gets over his denial he will have a way stronger Persona than a normal.
>>
>>27697423
He is genuinely overworked, but he's also afraid to spend time with Nanako because he thinks he's unfit as a father. He has no idea how to do this nurturing thing, so he hides from it instead of risking making a mistake raising her. The idea that not being there is just as bad does not occur to him, at least not consciously, until Yu confronts him with it.

Tell him, demonstrate TV thing. Then explain EVERYTHING. There may or may not still be a human culprit, if the Shadow is cooperating with it. Or more than one culprit, but supernatural forces are at work.

If we do tell Dojima (possibly as a reaction to him pressuring us because he just saw through our Bluff), ask him to touch the TV screen first.

Then go up and touch it ourselves.

Then tell him everything about the incident today. Suggest that he leave it out of the official report.
>>
>>27698518
I guess the thing is I don't see it as pointless. It could turn into a very big deal. The only reason other people were brought in was because of the fact that other people were forcefully involved. Once you start bringing people in though a lot of things start happening and a lot of bad possibilities come forth. After all Look at how Adachi was playing the team for suckers even when they hadn't let the police know about things.

I think it's still a bit too early to tell Dojima what we know, because, in-character anyway, WE barely know what we know. The second one is just a terrible idea.

I've been convinced not to tell him now but still eventually it will get hard to justify. It is (or will be don't remember if we've gotten confirmation yet) a string of murders anything we do or don't do is a big deal. The risk of more people dying because we didn't want to involve at least one person more competent then us with much better resources should be just as big a concern as them not letting us personally be the ones to investigate. This is also just my personal bias but, I'd find it refreshing to see a character in this situation not to immediately think they aren't the only ones who can handle it and adults will only get in the way and make us brush our teeth and go to bed early.

At the moment and possibly altogether? Yeah, I am. I have already listed my reasons so I won't bother putting them in this post. People want to run things off the rails so badly that they seem to not be taking into consideration things that could backfire.
>>
>>27699123
This is pretty much the entire fucking reason I've heard in ALL of the threads with this argument. Only NOW are there even starting to be arguments of resources.

Compared to the arguments of how telling too many people can go badly, the level of denial Dojima faces in regards to Shadow potential, and not to mention OP flatout stating there's gonna be "unexpected consequences" and his love of Kotomine, this sounds like nothing but a bad idea at the rate it's going.

We need some fucking time for this option people, rushing it is going to hurt.
>>
>>27699123
Oh calm down. We let him go get himself and most of the police department killed, then we won't have nearly as much interference to tiptoe around. Heck, with the collapse of law enforcement, we could justify a takeover of the town "for the protection of the citizenry" or what not. Quite agreed, WickedWitch. Not telling Dojima now is not the same as never telling him. We can't just blurt out "Uncle Dojima I know what happened to them they're in a magic world inside the TV and I went there and now I can shoot lightning!" Even if we show him the proof of it, that sudden info dump is going to freak him the hell out. We have to put some thought into how we tell him. It can wait at least one night. Telling him right now will do absolutely nothing. Mayumi Yamano's already dead, we're in no shape to hunt for Namatame, and we can't bring Dojima in there without risking our having to fight a really nasty Shadow. We will cause more harm than good if we go traipsing off into the TV again for the sake of a demonstration.
>>
>>27699292
>>We know this IC? hurr

Kanji isn't a rational-minded adult who could have us put in a mental institution "for our own good."

Plus, we didn't know as much then as we do now.
>>
>>27699375
We were under pretty heavy pressure to run off and save Yosuke and Chie at that time. We've got at least some breathing room for now.
>>
>>27699375
We didn't know the dangers, then. When we recruited Kanji the most we knew was that Shadows get nasty if you deny them, and could hurt Yosuke and Chie. Now we know there are evil clones and an otherworldly demon-parasite at work here. We have to be careful in how we introduce him to that.

Semi, I don't expect to take over the town (/tg/ would never go for it anyway), but I do expect him to do...less than idea things in light of the new information. Like alerting his department and mounting a raid. You know, escalate things and create an escalating failure/clusterfuck of chaos.

I was mostly being facetious, but my point was that we can't actually do anything with Dojima right now that will be in any way productive. We can't take him in to show him, and putting our hand in the TV isn't, in itself, a big enough deal to convince him. It could just be a prank. And summoning Izanagi wouldn't work. P2 and P3 imply you can't see a Persona unless you have one or are in a spirit world. Which leaves smashing things with the naginata or summoning lightning as means of demonstrating we're not talking out of our ass. You think those are going to do anything but scare him?

One a familial connection doesn't mean that much considering we have no idea what he is like. Second he may be a detective, but the thing about that is that this is firmly embedded in the supernatural which Dojima has no experience in just like us. And unlike us he doesn't have a big nosed wise man to explain things. Third, if you are going with the familial connection thing why would Dojima let his newphew who he is responsible for get into this shit? Heck why wouldn't he tell our parents and get us out of here?

...You know, it's pointless to just keep trying to deceive him. He's a DETECTIVE, for crying out loud.

You sigh and stand up.

"Alright," You say, walking towards the powered off TV. "Uncle Ryo, mind coming over here for a second?"

He gives you an odd look, but stands, walking over to the TV set.

"Sure. What is it, Yu?"

You shake your head.

"Touch the screen for me, would you?" You ask, pointing to it.

He does so, hand stopping on the smooth glass.

"Alright, so?" He asks, giving you another curious look as he takes a step back."Feels normal to me."

...Now or never.

You take a step forwards, and rap on the screen. The ripples spread, and Dojima's confused expression changes to one of shock.

"You... What...?" He sputters out, as you stick your hand through.

"There's an entire world in there. Satonaka and Hanamura were somehow pushed into it," You say, pulling your hand out and shaking your head. "It's filled with things called 'Shadows', manifestations-"

"-of the lower parts of the human psyche, that prey on the minds of humans." Your uncle finishes, seemingly having found his voice.

...How does he-

"Go out to the car, Yu. We're going to see someone now." He says, pulling out his cell and shaking his head. "Why am I even surprised that this case involves them..."
