Last time in Mutant Hivemind quest we saw the wrath of ghoulish hordes. Which sorta wiped out the ENTIRE Eastern Marsh...nothing left after that. We also tried out a new parasite that attacks zombies and discovered much to our horror that it backfired on us. We were nearly wiped out if not for the timely intervention of Richard. Now however what it was knows about us...and it hungers.

Now however we got bigger problems.

WARNING
HUGE zombies hordes detected.
Increased presence of Super Mutant Mobile Bases detected.
Enemy Bandits are rallying their forces in opposition.
Ghouls have unleashed MASSIVE numbers of ferals into the swamp.
Monster presence continues to build. Deep Monster Mayhem will begin in Unknown period of time.

The coalition representatives are still present.

Actually they were SWH's original enemies from before the end of the world. Their descendants of the old world military from before the fall. They've been fighting her for centuries.

If anything they're the only ones besides us not corrupted from her in anyway shape or form

Huge Zombies hordes are detected everywhere...only problem is ALL the nearby ones are heading in our direction and you know that GIGANTIC zombie hive? Its spewing forth even more zombies heading right towards us. A.I. Burk has alerted me that he has detected massive zombie presence underground.

The bandits that are still red are hostile. Other bases have turned purple to represent their new allegiance.

Ghouls explain that the massive number of ferals being pushed out by the ghouls is an attempt to fuck with zombies.
>>
>>27553853
>The bandits that are still red are hostile.
I'm guessing those are the guys who didn't show up to the coalition meeting.
Damn, I'm hoping we can offer a tribute of fuel for some kind of nonagression deal. We don't need more problems.
>>
>>27553770
suggestion for base name. base "Foresight" or "stepping stone" to reflect that we have learned and it's only the start.

>>27553810
Oh, but then I will assume that it would be safe to actually use a modified version of the parasite versus them? I know that I pushed the parasite hard the last time. But the supermutants don't pose the Psychic risk that SWH does. So they would be an ideal target for the parasite. just saying.

Proposing

1. scavenge
2. improve base , make fleshvats where we extract biological matter from the swamp passively and reform it, either into food, possible fuel or material for fleshbeasts.
3. take the digga drilla, novaks etc etc to set up tons of traps and ambushes for the zombies, we need to thin the horde. If we got spare fuel we couldfor example dig trenches that we fill with fuel, then let a sizeble Group of zombies cross Before we ignite it, cutting them off from the rest of the horde and then exterminate them in manageable numbers. this way we could possibly try to flush out the underground zombies too by strategic digging and flooding the tunnels with fire.

mad science: have Richard work on offensive nano-bots. selfreplicating swarms of nano-bots that hunt zombies (or other designated targets)
>>

>>27553919
They did show up and their reps are still around even.
>>
>>27553971
Ah, well. let us approach them to try to get them to join us, the ones closer to us are the prioritised.
Let us offer protection from the zombies in co-ordination. We all share our information, what is effective, what is not etc to better be able to fight them. We also offer a fallback Point if they should be overrun and sanctuary as our people. And you know, other Incentives.
>>
>>27553936
All psionic users pose the risk of being overcome by She Who Hungers, especially now that she's learned how to hijack the parasite. On top of that it's been proven her brute strength can overcome any logical failsafes we attempt.

>>27553971
"Bandits, do you not see the very ground teems with the common enemy that is the zombies? Surely you can see that, whereas we still offer the olive branch and promise of cooperative prosperity, the zombies do not see as you more than food. We see you are mobilizing your forces. Let it be known that if we meet it is in our every desire to fight alongside your troops, not against them, against this common foe. Surely you see the every downside there is in hostility between our forces"

>>27554019
We tried that last thread. They think we're not strong enough yet and want to test us. We will prove ourselves in time
>>
>>27554019
Oh if you mean cooperation, even they won't join, then by all means yes.
>>
exactly :) and when they benefit from our assistance and see how much more effective when we organize they will be more keen on the whole joining up with is part.
>>
>>27553936
We had nanites, but they were incredibly rare and extremely dangerous. Far too many times we were nearly been killed by that gone wrong (such as a Grey Goo scenario, basically they eat our entire base in moments). Even Richard nearly lost his life in a bad accident. We had to destroy our nanite beds.
Plus, that kinda tech has been around for centuries and somebody would've thought of it by now.

But that is still a pretty good use of imagination.
>>
>>27554080
I have another plan for getting them to join of their own accord as well. But we need peace.

Now is the time for war, and I don't want it to be with the bandits.
>>
>>27554091
hmm, ok. lets change it to sonic cannons that disrupt and confuse the focus of zombies and other creatures, (preferable with settings depending on the enemy) that we can put by the battlefield to make the enemies less coherent and effective. (It would also be great as a deterrent seeing as people and monsters usually try to get away from the painful sound so we could use it to try to drive away monsters from where we don't want them into where we want them 8[among the enemy])
>>
>>27554172
Yes the infrasonic subwoofers, I proposed that last thread to work in conjunction with Silent Megaphones to debilitating effect. It's likely a lot monsters might be immune to sound or hunger would drive them forward, so psionics would fit here.
I'd like that to work in tandum, but for now Psionic research is a bit dangerous until we can set up a safe lab in the wastes away from our base.
>>
>>27554091
and If we still maybe have some of the nanites in some sealed containers we could possibly drop some of them on the supermutant bases to let them go grey goo there,

Also, have we tried approaching the supermutants about the zombies? If the supermutants aren't fans of SWH they would probably love to join in on the fight against her.

Two new bandit heroes have joined us.

Witch Luna an unusual female hero who even bandits dread. Its said even Reavers come to her for 'consultations'.

bonus to Banditry
bonus to negotiation

Mojo- Witch has special abilities that mimic psionics yet are not.

Magic Juice- Enhances the drinker

Cursed Brew- Poison and worse.

Welcome to my Garden- Receives a bonus when on home ground and enemies are penalized.

Warlord Slag an older 'retired' warlord. Came out to the swamp for one last pillaging yet somehow ended up sticking around and adopting a bunch of fresh-meat bandits who would of died if it wasn't for him.

Free military action
Free banditry action

Old ass bastard- has seen much and more.

Retired Badass- If you thought badesses are AWESOME you clearly have never seen a one who managed to live to retirement.

Way of War- Has special strategic insights.
>>
>>27554209
Use the free military action to set traps and ambushes for the zombies.
Use free bandit action to conduct a small raid on the human cities where we stealthily plant some eggs for various fleshbeasts etc for them to procreate there and then be of future use.
>>
>>27554208
That'd probably not work, the swamp has healed over nanites before and they're very expensive.

>Plan East/Right
We send a major force from our base against the great zombies hive. Our allies and the ghouls (who have promised to help whenever we are planning to purge zombies) will drive the entire hive toward our forces entrenched and reinforced by artillery direct from our base. If things get too bad, we have our allies retreat from their positions and reinforce central army as we fall back.
>Plan west/left
Similar. We ask the Ghouls if we can reinforce one of their bases. Then our forces also drive them toward it, and we make a stand.

In addition, the expected paths of the zombies will be mined and webbed and trapped by our spiders and spiderborg forces lying in wait.

Any objections or alternate plans are welcome.
>>
>>27554282
>>27554348
Hmm, maybe we could let them "intercept some top secret messages" that indicate that we (SWH) are conducting a vital project that will increase our Power manyfold and pose a great risk to the supermutants. This Project will be located in a location among SWHs forces, the project will be reaching a critical point which would cause the super mutants to need to strike fast and decisively there to stop it from coming to fruition.
>>
>>27554397
Assuming we can do that and they won't sniff a lie like that in seconds, where would we lead them? What happens once they find out it was all a ruse?
>>
>>27554390
sounds pretty good. how about we Contact the marauders and ask if they want in on this as well? We will supply the fuel they would use up ofc, and they could drop fuelbombs, which would mean all they have to lose as long as they maintain a high altitude is some time. They could also possibly bomb the hive this way and cause damage or destroy it (depending on how the hive is made up and how flameable it is)
>>
>>27554445
One bombing a year, and we used that up already. In addition we gave away half our high grade fuel (i'm presuming their planes came and took it) and we need to restocpile.

>>27554348
"You want our support you earn it the bandit way but you are not true bandits and you are weak. So basically go fuck yourselves and your shitty pact."

>>27554445
You have only 1 bomb run still availabe for the rest of the year.

In any case what is the consensus?
>>
>>27554436
we could lead them to hives or deeper into SWHs terrain, and if we make the message impy that the best/easiest way to stop the Project (possibly due to some failsafes etc) would be to just destroy the area completely them finding out afterwards is a moot point. And seeing as how supermutants hate fleshbeasts and the like, I don't Think they would be able to very much tell the difference between a normal zombie hive etc and one where they have a special Project. and even if they do discover aren't we already their great mortal enemy that must be vanquished no matter what. Atleast this way they woul suffer losses and attract some of SWHs Wrath away from us towards them Before (if now that they fight SWH more) they strike us.
>>
>>27554462
We have 2 per year due to giving 2/3 instead.

>>27554487
So they would not agree to fight a common threat while we also supply the extra fuel etc they expend? :/ darn.

Expanded plan

Gonna think of what we should do for actions as well
>>
>>27554568
How are they going to scout the inside of a hive? That's called attacking.
And if they don't fall for it they just continue as earlier. Really, what do we have to lose? And we have Everything to gain. We could also set up some kind of scenario where they get the information, maybe sacrificing 10-20 memor or something for the greater good by having them be posted in a new outpost in a Place we know the supermutants will find them and have that info there, with other non-vital but true and easily comfirmed info that we don't mind them knowing.
>>
>>27554618
>How are they going to scout the inside of a hive?
Our tectus and heroes have done it before.

And they are supermutants, they have a strange powerful and swift force of infantry that managed to wreck our SST's somehow.
>>
>Zombies are attacking us because they're under SWH influence, She has a deal with some of the sentient-psionic-director ones
>We woke her up with the Psy-Field
>Then we got her specific attention with the parasite

By the way, if we use the parasite on anything else will take over them too. It works thus: a sentient has an automatic resistance to being psionically dominated, the parasite subdues them by physical means, then SWH only has to dominate a simple cattle-like mind to control the sentients

>Anyway, we're being attacked by zombies and there's a small extremely advanced (and as-yet uncontacted) faction to our North East that's been doing research on the zombies since we've been in the swamp.

>>
>>27554640
yes... we should probably Contact them... didn't It bypass and not subdue the resistance? the reason that SWH used the parasites to attack us was because she was already in Control of the pre-existing zombie hivemind. EDE can correct me if I'm wrong.

>>27554630
Still, what are the downsides? And the scouts still have to recognize a zombie Project, we can just say that the hive is learning making alterations to make super duper zombies. or make all zombies able to copy themselves, or be more resistant to whatever and it would be nigh impossible for them to find out wether it's true or not.
>>
Rolled 90

>>27554694

>>
>>27554694
we should try to send assistance with some kind of deal, assist them or try to get some of them to safety, ofcourse we'd also like to save any information they have on the zombies.
>>
>>27554710

You strapped something psionically sensitive (it would've been bad enough it they were just inert) onto the zombies brain. SWH didn't have control over their hivemind (unless you didn't get what EDE was hinting at with those conversations between sentient-psionic-director zombies [including Carl] last thread) She had made them a deal.

THEN we came along an put tiny little brains in control of much bigger and stronger brains. She took advantage of this and hijacked their hivemind/the minds of the infected and poured that rage and strength into breaking ours.

You are Carl currently your kicking some science ass if the panicked screams of the researchers are anything to go by. At least you were supposed to you didn't really have to do anything as the some experimental subjects broke free doing all the work for you. So you kinda just snooping around in between taking down the occasional guard. Who have some really kickass armor goddamn you actually had to stop trying to shoot them because it didn't do anything. Ah well if only you could find where that delicious scent was coming from...its been a long time since you smelt something that good. Especially considering you can't munch too many zombies. Hah this is sorta boring...then you heard a shriek followed by sudden quite then rumbling. Well looks like whatever it is they do to dissuade zombies isn't working any more. Ah damn now your gonna have to hurry about finding that meal. Man this was only supposed to be a quick pit stop on your way home for a quick bite to eat.
>>
>>27554815

Sounds like a good plan, except we haven't scouted our enemies, we have very few forces, we won't get the "on-home-turf" bonus of our new hero, the zombies will probably ambush us from below once we've dedicated our forces, and SWH is undoubtedly marshaling some as-yet-unknown forces underground that would take our bases while our troops were gone.

Also, sending out the BorgSTs. They're not numerous or upgraded enough to be useful in the battle, but their loss will significantly eat into reproduction rates for the BorgSTs as a whole.
>>
>>27554880
Not really. It's the mothers who can do all the work.
We can make 5 BorgST's with 1 resource on the mothers alone, and we don't have the number for the bonus.
For now they're expendable.

Also this is merely preparation phase, we're not going to attack this turn. Simply preparing our forces. and of course we're going to scout the shit out of everywhere.

>>
>>27554907
I try to listen as best I can.
>>
>>27554896

No, the regular BorgSTs gather resources for/protect the matriarchs. The matriarchs themselves are capable of hunting but are primarily reproducer-units. That is, of course when they have enough BorgSTs to do the resource collecting.
>>
>>27554907
yeah, If you've made some of the posts I Think you have, you are a voice of reason. But yes, sending out too many troops into uncertain territory wouldn't be smart, setting up traps etc could be fine though.
And for the hives. Why don't we try making the supermutants attack them first? And since we've apparently managed to infiltrate hives before do so again, and this time maybe set off some kind of bomb, maybe the entropy virus in the middle of the hive, that should clear it out.
>>
>>27554931
True enough. But then again, the BorgST's are only going to be hleping laying traps. If they're precious, we simply have them fall back while the thousands of spiderlings and our skirmishers slow the zombie hives down and fall back as well.

We'll keep them safe where we can. We're not thrusting them to battle.
>>
>>27554957
Which is why we'll be ensuring we're not uncertain about the territory via scouting, that way if something is amiss we can quickly redraw a plan to adapt to the new danger.

Also I'd rather not lead the supermutants anywhere near our base. Because the next thing they'll be after they get the hives, is us.
>>
>>27554957

We've actually not managed to infiltrate a hive consistently, I don't know why someone thought we had. I think Alexis might've done it on her introduction/a roll of 100.

If we pull the supermutants over to near our base then they'll smash us. That is, unless SWH gets some reason to want them dead more than us and sends the zombies after them. This is a distinct possibility if we can capture some of their psionic operatives (not likely) and manage to get them to draw SWH's attention. But they'd be attached to their hivemind the whole time, so that might be more trouble than good.

The entropy virus is becoming less and less effective against zombies. The hives have likely converted all zombies to be immune to it after the massive effect it had on the battle of last thread. We don't have any bombs big enough to blow up the hive either, though if we set Torg to it (I think we got Torg back) he might be able to make one.
>>
Rolled 60

I'll vote for this if it includes scouting every nook and cranny and only preparing to attack.

I suggest we also set some buggers and feelers around the tunnel ruins to detect even the slightest hint of zombies popping up.

>>27554974
We could lead them to one of the hives further from our base.
And the infiltration to deploy bomb/virus is still a sound plan that we should attempt before commiting major forces to the hive, we could do this while scouting and to several hives at once as well. Just because there is one special hive near us doesn't mean we don't want to destroy them all :D
>>
>>27555035
The more we use it the less likely it'll be effective, since zombies are such adaptive creatures.

I'd suggest Richard researching on a new entropic virus strain once we clean out his labs and safely deliver him there.
>>
Rolled 99

>>27555078
Richard here go fuck yourselves that Entropic Virus is one of kind. It would be hell incarnate making something that could mimic it even remotely.
>>
>>27555014
The virus is still effective against the zombies, it's just that since we were only using the single target version they started avoiding the areas we had bombed where the virus was active so they no longer just kept dying and dying. In a hive where they are not at first aware we deployed the virus? especially if we use the full out version instead of singletarget version it should be a massacre. And even if the infiltrator fails to infiltrate all the way in it could still release the virus and wreak havoc since the all out version of the virus will spread and probably kill off the base anyway.
>>27555078
And if we are going to make a new strain anyway we should use this version full out now to good use before they actually become able to resist it, try to infiltrate all Hives we know of at the same time and release it so they won't have time to build up a resistance.
>>
>>27555115
We are fighitng hell itself. Fact is your entropic virus isn't getting any stronger.

You don't need to do something quite as... messy and flashy. A virus that causes the body to produce blockers on the neural pathways for example would be just as effective.
And leave more bodies for the fleshbeasts.
Or a virus that induces bloodlust towards anything like itself (some kind of rabies strain) that would cause any affected group to turn on itself. Or maybe just a virus that attacks the Visual nerves and leaves the victim blind. the point is it doesn't need to be quite so... powerful... it can be just as effective while not as advanced if used correctly

Anyway, I propose

>Banditry
Send a force to the White Factions base. Their objectives are to save as many scientists as they can, salvage/loot/steal/etc. as much specialized equipment as they can, and capture Carl if they can (that would preferably be peaceful, have Irewin cook something scrumptious up to try and get him to come along). Dedicate Irewin,Warlord Slag, Ramona and Witch Luna to this.

Witch Luna and some Vizen, of course should persuade the scientists that we're just evaccing them and will return them to their greater faction ASAP.

>Military
Scout out everything with Tectus and Vizen. Particularly I'd like to know where tunnel mouths are, even hidden ones (especially hidden ones). Send Torg and Alexis along and have them all place remote-detonated explosives in the tunnel entrances so they can be collapsed when we want.

>Basic 1
Research into our Psionic Zombies just sitting in a containment bubble somewhere in our base. (Clora and Claire)

>Basic 2
Gather resources

>Basic 3
Produce 3 more spider matriarchs (we can do that right, because each matriarch can make one? Otherwise just make one more I guess) (1 or 3 resources)

>Mad Science
Richard researches a new entropic virus strain that is tailored for zombies.

Whatever ghoul forces and bandit forces that are available should be sent out with the banditry force, a few vizen, and a lot of vehicles so they can carry things/people etc. away.

Btw EDE, Was it ever comfirmed that the zombies are building up a resistance towards the entropic virus or was it just that they were Learning to avoid the missile strikes carrying the virus etc?
>>
>>27555300

No, they're not more likely to integrate it on the battlefield. The hives are the centers of zombie-production/reproduction. They're where more advanced zombies are manufactured, and that's not a simple process. Let loose an entropic virus in there and we're just as likely to kill them as to get a new kind of zombie that causes whatever it touches to turn into a pile of bio-organic goop.

I've been interested in them since the 1st chapter the showed up ages ago. But we never bothered with them until now.

Kind of like how he mentioned them last thread, and again right now.

Of course, it could just be a trap. But we're damned if we don't because we have SWH's active attention and she has many more conventional military forces at her disposal than we have conventional or unconventional means to deal with them.

Our forces got sent to the White Base. (bandit bonus activated speed freak able to arrive in under one turn). Our forces arrived but the place was nearly overrun. They place had either been largely evacuated/overrun already. We managed to break in and start looting at least we tried anyway place was crawling with zombies. We did find Carl however if you consider we found him floating around in a large pool full of gore.

On our way back however we encountered one of their wrecked craft with some survivors to boot who we took with us. Even the craft itself.

Alexis found some entrances and collapsed some but is considered about the access points in ruins. Which are not nearly so easy to find.

Crews sent out while everyone was busy and brought back some resources. 5 points acquired.

1 spider Matriarch under construction.

Cursing all the while Richard tried to create a new entropic virus focusing on zombies. Found him around hanging around the Swarm vats and hell hole...pouring in some Entropic Virus solutions cackling madly. Then a strange spiked tendril covered in eyes erupted from the Hellhole grabbed and slammed him around before dragging him in. He is yet to be seen. Even though Clora'Zel roused herself to check it out even.

Talk to the scientist survivors using Witch Luna and some Vizen, have Tabula Rasa outside the room, and have him step in if it looks like things are about to get rowdy (I suspect that their scientific interest would trump their desire to get rowdy).Get the general lowdown on their faction, and ask them if they know why their deterrence fields stopped working, and tell them that we can offer them resources to continue their research here, but that until we deal with the zombie problem we can't safely extract them back to their faction. If they help us deal with the zombies, we can help them in various ways.

(Did Carl come peacefully?) Talk to Carl, ask him what he was out and about to. Ask him what's up with the zombies, and if he knows anything about them, and if he's willing to help us save our asses from them/SWH.

>Banditry
Have Warlord Slag and allied bandit forces shore up the defenses around the bandit bases. (Resources: 4)

>Military
Have Alexis head out and scout out the ruins specifically (but also the paths between us and the zombie hives) for tunnel entrances. Don't have her collapse any, just note their locations.

>Basic 1
Torg makes a shitload of really strong explosives, we're going to trap the tunnel entrances (or maybe the entirety of the ruins) with these so we can blow them up when SWH starts to send her forces out of them. (Resources: 4)

Carl states that he was just getting something good to eat that is why he was wondering around. Zombies be and do what zombies do. What I know about them? Well not much just that they can mutate...somtimes and are driven by hunger. Save you from them and who? I can't really help you zombies ignore me for whatever doesn't mean I want to antagonize them enough to STOP ignoring me. Or on your own there plus something like She Who Hungers being under the swamp is quite funny. They didn't volunteer any additional information we might find useful? Something we might use against the zombies perhaps?

I would suggest that we use action
2 to reverse-engineer the vehicle and and the Equipment and action 3 to Incite the supermutants to try to attack SWH where it really hurts, her home (it could work and be really awesome) with false (and real) messages etc they could intercept.
Either that or use it to infiltrate hives to try to destroy them from within.
>>
>>27556062
And just where pray tell is her home, why wouldn't they have attacked it by now if they could, why on earth would they believe we would be there?

We either tell about the hives (further away from us), send them towards somewhere in the Deep swamp where we think it might be. And didn't we sense SWH psychicly since we first started searching for broodmothers? We could just use that to find out somewhat where she is.
>>

Ask them if we may keep their vehicle when they leave (we did save them. Also, ask what their vehicle is/does/specializes in). Tell them that we may be able to collect zombies for them if they don't intend/want to re-establish operations in the swamp again. We would keep them detained until they came to pick them up, payment would be negotiable.

Mention off-hand that we have, right now, a sample from a creature that zombies always ignore. Managed to grab a piece off of it while it was floating in a pool of gore in the middle of their base. Are they interested in it?
>>
>>27556166
We just took the wreckage. Don't ask unless they ask for it back.

Asides from that I support it.
>>
>>27556166

Mention that we have reason to suspect that the sample is from a zombie capable of leading massive numbers of other zombies (that's not meta, he was Bob's friend and saved our ass using a horde of zombies once if I recall)
>>
>>27556140
"We mean a peaceful exchange of you of course. We will be happy to return you to your superiors. We can supply you with what little zombie information we have if you are interested. In fact, in future times, we will be happy to offer any military assistance against the zombies, as we tried to do now."

"We take value in the cure, and your work."

>>27556166
I'm thinking more on the lines of adding a token gift of a single crate of high grade fuel over asking them to buy back their forces. I also don't want supersoldiers and mercenaries wrecking shit up on the way here to extract them.
>>
>>27556166
>>27556197

Well they're corporate (or government and lying) remnants. Their technology is far more advanced than ours, I doubt they even use biofuel. They ARE, however, very interested in zombies. And we just happen to have practically the very first one...

>>
We since we're not going for hives yet, I have another suggestion.

An effort must be undergone to study the monsters proper. The heart of the swamp created the monsters for her own benefit. How is that our creations, the SST's and the behemoths, require vast amounts of nuclear energy and high grade fuel to function while these creatures of equal or greater size manage to do so on a purely carnivorous diet, without so much as a hint of artificial fuel? It is possible they have some sort of biological nuclear reactor as part of their digestive system, as we have found plasma spewing monsters. We must unlock the monsters secret. How they can turn meat into a fuel that rivals nuclear energy, or possibly IS nuclear.

If we can unlock this, we can Apply it to our own machinery or creations.

When it is possible I recommend an immediate capture of monsters as live specimens for research. This can be done with our assortment of Spiders and STborgs, fleshbeasts, in addition to our well trained hunters. Webbeys and Webbers shall construct a massive trapdoor web. Fleshbeasts will act as psuedo-bait, while our hunters drive the monster to where we need it. Once it falls into the web, the Webbers will cocoon it as sprayers and spewers use their stingers to inject a powerful neurotoxin and anisthetic.

Once a few have been collected as such, they will be brought to Richards laboratorys for vivisisection and analysis, live specimens for experiments, as well as the releasing of monsters with trackers and cameras to view their habbits.

Hmm, fair point. Not to my knowledge more that what we passively do all the time.
I still consider it Worth it though, SWH can just send more and more at us untill we take it out. And for that we need a location.
>>27556864
Ok. But the rest of the salvage? possible Power armors, maybe biological stuff we found in the base etc.
>>
>>27556863
Yeah, we'll have to, but we don't have the forces to outright fight them and we don't have a sneaky udnerhanded way of taking them out right now either.
>>
>>27556900
But we do have our allies, and a plan at least. And it won't be so much as outright as it is leading them to the places we want them to go. Which of it's own, is rather underhanded.
>>
>>27556887

That's an excellent suggestion, but only the very big ones would have those and I'm not sure we're able to capture them. Capturing some of the small plasma-creatures that inhabit the tunnels is much more feasible though, and would likely reveal some interesting things.
>>
>>27556887
Okay, This might work instead of the salvage action.

How about
action 1:>>27556887
action 2: psionically search for SWH, have the search channeled through some unneccesary poor sod in a partitioned hivemind while directed by more powerful and experienced members. We should have people outside the hivemind (robots or ghouls or something) be on standby to kill the poor sod we channel it through in case SHW attacks psionically.
>>
>>27556891

I'm actually beginning to suspect that SWH isn't a physical entity at all, but something purely psionic in nature.
>>
>>27556943
I've had that suspicion as well. If we search this way we might get an answer and be able to adabt accordingly.
>>
>>27556943
Also very possible, she could simply be hunger incarnate.

Though the sliver of escaped sample that caused the fall has me doubting if it didn't grow into something as massive.
>>
>>27556941

No, don't search for goddamn SWH using psionics! Don't you get how bad an idea it is to mess around with psionics and SWH yet??
>>
>>27556961
What sliver of escaped sample that caused The Fall? Clora was formed from a sliver of an escaped sample of (we think) the Heart of the Swamp.
>>
>>27556981
I meant the escaped sample directly, my bad.
I thought that escaped sample was the first to escape and eventually become SWH and contribute to the end of the world.

>>27556935
We only need to capture the ones the size of the Behemoths and see what the hell it is that powers them that isn't a minireactor.

And since we're the best biologist in town with our own broodqueen, we'll be able to reverse engineer it in time.
>>
>>27556963
Yes, it might be dangerous. But do we have any other real way to do it? Eventually SWH will get us, one way or Another as this zombie horde proves. SWH has woken and if we are to do anything about it we need to know about location/state of being, I don't particurarly like us taking too many risk either, But it's neccessary.
We could possibly try to learn this by researching one of the psionic zombies that made a deal with "her" though. to learn exactly how they get their orders etc.

What we are already doing. Growing in strength, biding our time, until we can devise a SAFE solution to attacking her. Until this swamp is unified, we cannot risk it.

> But do you agree with the whole researching the psionic zombies that have contacted SWH to try to find out?
I agree with researching psionic zombies, to an extent. Not to trying to find SWH.
And by extent, I mean I'm still in favor of the creation of a psionics laboratory in the waste for any further psionic research.

We're not the only ones growing and researching, don't think that SWH doesn't grow stronger as well, How long until SHW takes over our hivemind without us being able to do anything about it?
>>
>>27557237

Beats me, but maybe by that point we'll be able to do something about it. We don't have nearly the resources to attack her right now so knowing her location is less-than-useless because it wastes resources and endangers us. Finding out where she is before we're ready to strike just means that we're likely to make a move on outdated information when we are.
>>
>>27557267
We could give the information to the supermutants, or try to have the marauders drop a bunch of jerryrigged nuclear reactors to blow "her" up, We could develop a virus to drop there, we could sneak in with operatives and assasinate. Would that be wasting more Resources than fighting nigh endless hordes of zombies? constant monster uprisings that flood us? having to deal with being afraid that our hivemind will be subverted and not being able to utilize our psionics?
>>
>>27557136
I would like to prepare to strike, as I feel in time once we scout the area and are secure in our information, we should deal with the hives and bring faith to the members of the pact that it si worthwhile

>Basic 1
Slag assess our allied bandits strength, and what he thinks about our combined ability to strike on the hives
>Basic 2
Gather resources
>Basic 3
Have some teams helping the Matriarchs set up nests around the base proper, to assist in BorgST production for future efforts.
>Military
Send Irewin as an envoy to the nearby Ghoul camps, specifically the one we may plan to use as a point of defense, and prepare to coordinate a strike
>Bandit
Send Luna to the Vileblood base, have her and those heroes try to reclaim Richards labs from whatever accident was caused. She should have a bonus in her territory.

>Extra:
Relocate the scientists to a moderately secure, but easy to see from outside, location for their extraction teams. With a black flag or something to indicate them.

>>27557237
>How long until SHW takes over our hivemind without us being able to do anything about it?
So long as we don't touch her, we are safe. Giving her the shred of ability to take over our hivemind even faster is of no help at all.
>>
>>27557231

Hmm, that'd be a pleasant surprise.

Let's start this turn by asking our New Heroes about their pasts. Where'd they come from originally/recently, ask Luna about her not-psionics and why Reavers 'consult' her, and Warlord Slag about any notable past battles, ask both of them if they know anything about the swamp, Richard, brood mothers, or psionic entities.

While we're at it, ask Tabula Rasa what he sensed when the hivemind was attacked. Has he been able to feel any psionic presences of power around? Is it possible for an entity to be purely psionic, without any physical form?
>>
>>27557311
If we can reach out with our psionics and connect with hers (which is what we are risking) then so could she. That she hasn't done so yet would either point towards that it's not possible or that she's not quite strong enough to break through our blocks without the collective hunger of hundreds of thousands of zombies.
>>
Rolled 42

>>27557311

>>

>And the reason she hasn't broken through with the zombies is that she still can't break directly into their minds unless something, say a parasite or psionic device, overpowers it and allows here to
And now she no longer has the the ability to use the zombies seeing as they no longer have parasites on them.
And we don't try to connect to her, we just sense around and see if we sense something that might be her. Under no circumstances would we try to connect.
>>
>>27557399
Psionic feelers are a gateway to connection.
>>
>>27557417
But with this logic we can't even risk sending any of our Soldiers out to fight, or do anything where they might be captured and serve as an entry point for SWH.
>>
>>27557461
This is also true, and something we shall have to deal with.
We have been fortunate she has not tried to undergo such a tactic.
>>
>>27557461
>>27557495
Actually, scratch there. She HAS tried to do something like that. An Arch Brood King told us this. For a long time we were slowly being corrupted by her. Even the supermutant psionic users noticed this.

Torg invented some sort of psionic bomb from a rare and unkown element he had forgotten, and completely severed any and all connections to her.
>>
>>27557495
The thing is, as long as SWH exists we're in mortal peril. She could do this at any time, take one of our scavenging parties etc, or just someone that wandered off. Atleast of we make efforts to locate and take care of her we know when we're at risk and can atleast take some precautions.
The sooner we do this the less risk.
>>
>>27557537
see above >>27557530
Memor have been cleaned of potential corruption by Torgs bomb.
Zombies haven't.

We make another of those, you'll be damned sure we'll be interested in zombies.
>>
>>27557551
Have the other races we've included been? And are we immune to further attempts to create a new Connection? if we were truly safe then the feelers wouldn't be any risk.
Or she might take all the others with hiveminds and take them over, becoming that much more powerful and completely impossible for us to withstand.
But yes, we should try to get Another of those bombs.
>>
>>27557595
We can presume the cleansing is genetically passed on or has psionically affects all Memor who join part of our mind.
The Supermutants have their way of dealing with her.
Zombies naturally were not very connected to her, slaves to their own instinctual hunger, until we opened the way for that particular group.

As for the bomb, I honestly feel that was a once in a lifetime event.

Well, analyze the disc and see what tunnels are between us and the zombie hives/around our bases. Look for likely staging areas for large-scale infantry attacks (consult Warlord Slag for all these), look for psionic specialized research facilities (if it's that detailed a map), and look for anything else of interest. See if there's any easy ways of getting to the water-purifiers way below us.

Warlord Slag has had a long and prosperous career. I was one of the only bastards alive who ever gave the guard a run for their money. As for how I stated out a nomad wondering the dustlands in a faraway land. One day my was lost to the dust. In order to survive I started stealing got caught nearly lost a hand until a some raiders came buy and released me during their pillaging. After that I joined up with them. I served with bandits, raiders, pirates, and even slavers. One day I got strong enough to start my own band known as the Slag Slug Sluggers. There was no where you could be that we couldn't find you. We had a long prosperous career many joined even former marauders. One day the guard came to protect the 'innocent' and enforce their own code of laws. We fought long and hard. We may of been good but we were up against paramilitary tier mutants. So I had us do what we did best. Guard were used to this but they had never dealt with me and mine. We were one of the few groups capabling of striking deep into Guard protected lands. I must admit we made killing. Eventually though I got bored and was getting old. And my men were filthy rich so we went our separate ways. Instead of retiring right away I wanted to go on one last job.

Notable past battles includes the rape of Nakora. Pillaging of the Corporations of Alanc. Busting of government bunkers. Deep strikes on the Guard. The raiding of the Kingdoms. The battle of the Baylor.

What I know about the swamp is its a treasure trove of advanced tech very advanced even by pre fall standards.

Hm don't really know much about Richard other then his willingness to deal with bandits and the quality he provides. Don't know anything about broodmothers other then they command entire broods. I hate fighting broods nothing worth pillaging or raping. Ever.

We focus soley on the west two hives with our combined forces.
If things go bad, we have reserves.
We can also call in the Vilebloods to assist.

We must bring faith in the pact that we can eradicate the hives.

>Preparation of deadly forrest of spiders and skirmishers, loaded with webs, mines, and radiation from Novakon
>Entrenching deep into Ghoul base with SST's AND Irewin and our own ghouls
>Mass conglomeration of what forces we can spare on two hivepoints
>Scouting, scouting, scouting, and more scouting
>>
>>27558132
We could MAYBE take out the smallest nest with the combined forces. Lets not go on 2 hives. maybe 1.
>>
>>27558183
Problem is their so close, that the other cuts of half our forces. It is likely anyway that attacking one will attrack the other, so better to lead them to where we want them to be than have them go where we don't.
>>
>>27558132
I would go for it. I don't know where or what the original plan the ghouls were to attack. If they think they have a better one that ours (that is combining Memor, Bandit, and Ghoul) let's ask them.
As well as consulting Slag on it.
>>
>>27558196
How about we set up all our traps to try to cut the hives off from eachother and then focus on one hive, once that one is taken out we go around the trapped area and attack the other hive with out concerted forces. We also leave a small troop to keep an eye on the other hive the whole time.
>>
>>27558132

Figure out a way to account for the mass of zombies underground waiting to come out via tunnels, the impending Monster Mayhem, the inevitable attack that'll come from the big hive to the rear of our attack, and incorporate hero bonuses and you might have something.
>>
>>27558230
Like I said, we attack one hive the other will follow. If we attack the one west, it shall have to be both at the same time because both will respond at the same time to an attack on either.

The traps aren't meant to stop them, only slow them and attrition. And putting forces in the middle is like putting a hand between an anvil and a hammer.
>>
>>27558132

Also, any attack on the hives should wait until Alexis is back. Tell the ghouls that we'll throw our full force in if they wait or whatever, but we shouldn't attack until she's back.
>>
>>27558281
exactly, Hopefully the traps slow them down enough to allow us to take the first hive out before the other joins the battle. And we're not putting any troops in the middle. We just have them Watch the other hive and report about it while possibly trying to distract the zombies there.

We could try to use the grid we found to know where we should avoid tunnels.

>Figure out a way to account for the mass of zombies underground waiting to come out via tunnels
We'll use the grid map for that and set up a watch. If any show up, we'll unfortunatly have to divert troops. I'm aslo considering possibility of laying explosives, or drowning the tunnels in acid with our new Sprayers. For what it's worth.

>the impending Monster Mayhem
This is an issue of it's own that we shall deal with when it arrives. I'm hoping we can at least get these camps before monster mayhem.

In any event if we don't, we better convince the ghouls not to attack or they will destroy themselves (and end neither of us like).

>the inevitable attack that'll come from the big hive to the rear of our attack
For that we have our allies to the east and the vilebloods. I'm thinking of an emergency reserve line to slow down forces there, while we deal with the west hives. If things get really bad, we pull out from the west entirely

>and incorporate hero bonuses and you might have something.
I need a list of all our heroes, I've only incorporated the two new ones and Irewin and his four men defend the Ghoul fort

Really I'm pressing for an attack once alexis returns because I don't want the ghouls to do it alone, get killed, and we lose allies

>>27558316
Thing is if we attack the one directly west, the one further will still make it and then we have 2 hives headed in our fortress direction.

I'd rather a stand against 2 hives be made on a ghoul fortress instead
>>
>>27558390
How about we do that, but then when they reach they fortress we sweep in from behind and take out the hives while their forces are out. We should also bury lots of pipes filled with single target entropic virus in large circles, when the horde moves over the circle we activate it, creates a circle they can't move through and then when they can't avoid the missiles any longer without Walking through the circle and dying we virusbomb the insides, this way we both kill large numbers of them and creave artificial chokepoints to slow them down.
>>
>>27558390
While we wait for alexis, at least for now we can lay the traps and prepare

Thus I propose
>Basic 1
Spiders and Spiderborgs lay their traps on the map as described above. Skirmishers also prepare layout the territory without arousing Zombie suspicion, as well as setting Buggers and feelers and sprayers on the tunnels mapped in the grid. In addition, outlier scouting outposts will be set up to detect monster movement in case of Mayhem event.
>Basic 2
Feed our (4?) Martirarchs 4 resources for 20 BorgST's. We'll need them.
>Basic 3
Gather resources
>Military
Gather the Ghoul, Bandit, and our own generals to fully coordinate the future attack. Consult them all, especially Slag
>Bandit
Luna tries to convince any of the other Bandits who really hate zombies to our aid.

>>27558450
The plan generally involves pushing the zombies out of their hives as is. But I want it to not be our fortress that does the holding.
>>
>>27558494
ofcourse we try to do this by a ghoul fortress. But the entropic virus plan is sound. I really think that should be worked into our strategy.
>>
>>27558494
Actually, consultation of military leaders isn't an action it's an extra. For military it should be

>Set up defensive lines to the east of our base (sandbags, barbedwire, turrets, webts, bandit traps, ect) and on the Ghoul fortress we plan to make a stand
>>
>>27558525
We still haven't tailored it to target Zombies only. And that thing could easily spread to us.
>>
>>27558540
No it wouldn't. The single target version can't spread.
>>
>>27558551
Ah, well then. So be it. We lay minor entropic bombs as part of our traps. But only activate them once the area is lost and there's none of our troops to be affected.

Well, we should do the circles thing tbh, or lines that constantly spew out low ammounts of the virus, this way we have areas where anything that passes through dies and we can controll their path. if we make the circles we not only force them to cluster up between them to get through alive which gives us easy targets, it gives us huge Groups of zombies that are trapped inside ande which will simply die due to subsequent bombs.

Traps have begun to be laid despite the heavy presence of zombie hordes.

20 BorgSTs constructed thanks to Matriarchs.

Our forces got hit hard when they went scavenging for resources. They knew what to expect for basic zombies but some mutants showed up took down a SST and while our forces were destructed a zombie horde descended on them.

2 resouce points acquired

Ghouls suggest dirty bombs to break them unleash the ferals followed by soldier and armor support.

General Slag insights state that the zombies got leaders among them who are not stupid. Said he fought some during the Clean Up of Alastrad. Then you got mutant zombies who can even take down a tank solo or more easily. He even states that some zombies have enough brain cells to even pilot or even operate computers. All thanks to some variants that are capable of mutating or even waking up certain parts of brain.

Luna got a hold of some roaming Raiders who are willing to help. Shit even a Reaver or three showed up.

Mad Science

Richard came up with a virus that should wreak some havoc among hives thanks to samples Irewin got him. Not sure long it will be good for but aught to give the zombies one of a mean surprise.

This is strong hints aganist an attack isn't it?

>Ghouls suggest dirty bombs to break them unleash the ferals followed by soldier and armor support.
See but that's the thing. The ghouls are going to attack anyway with or without us. And when they do, they'll be no better off and we lose them.
>>
>>27558913
Sometimes there's nothing we can do about the folly of others. Best to leave the hives alone, it's clear we can't deal with them.
But the traps should still work, and if their bases DO come under attack, we'll be there to help.
>>
>>27558957
Yes. We can at least fortify their bases and give them good places to fall back.

On a brighter note, maybe we're underestimating the ghouls.
>>
>>27558957
We can still infiltrade and unleash the new virus. Hell, we could probably even launch missiles filled with it at the hives, probably best to keep the missiles as backups in case the infiltration fails.
>>
>>27559028
How are we supposed to do that? Did you see what some of their mutant zombies did our SST? (shit we can't even build those anymore)
>>
>>27559028

We don't have missiles designed to carry and dispense biological payloads. I don't think we even have missiles.
>>
>>27559048
we infiltrade.... you know SNEAK in. we don't try to fight. So their zombies ability to wreck shit doesn't matter. And also, how are they supposed to be able to punch the backup missile in case the infiltration fails?
>>
>>27559085
The ones we used to disperse the parasite or our entropic virus.
>>
>>27559096
>you know SNEAK in.
You know how many times we tried that? With our greatest heroes to boot.
You know how many times we failed?
You know we've never EVER suceeded except once, and that was only one hero. And Carl was with her so that was cheating.
And that was without this new revelation.

Having the two bandit heroes guard the scavengers does nothing. How well they do is entirely dependent on roll, the scale of resources we get goes 1-10 correlated to the first digit of the roll and the danger. Seemingly regardless of who we send along or what have you, danger/loss is based on ambient conditions and the roll. I theorize anything less than a 60 will have us lose troops right now.
>>
>>27559336
Well then by all means, we should consider good alternative uses for them. any suggestions?
>>
>>27559228
well, the hordes are mostly centered around the hives. right? so if we release the virus among the hives as well as among the various hordes we could possibly take out most of them, and since we're taking out the hives we'd have taken out their main way to adapt to the virus and improve. the key part is timing, releasing it by all the hives and hordes at the same time to prevent them from having any time to adapt.
>>
>>27559412
The hives are where they are strongest. They probably have some kind of healing bonus there, like we have clora and viroz in case of viral attack.
>>
>>27559412
we do this correctly and there won't be any zombie invasion any more. at all. problem solved without us risking any real losses, just a few minions delivering it

>>
>>27559430
sure, but if we do that then we wipe out most of the zombies and should easily be able to go in in force and destroy the hives even if they actually manage to survive the virus in the hives since most of the surrounding zombies will be dead.
>>

>>
>>27559514
more zombies means more people that infect eachother. the more people in an area the more devastating a virus is since they spread it to eachother.
>>27559553

But everyone seems pretty set on attacking so whatevs.

When our forces went to the former base we found nothing...at all its a bunch of empty space and filled holes left over.

Bandits training with the rest of our forces went amazingly well surprisingly enough. Despite the lack of training and general creepyness.

Turned out they were right about ghouls being massive pains in the ass to modify by anyway. Research is improving immensely painful and slow.

Explosives have been sent around known entrances to the tunnels and collapsed.

Can only produce even serum to modify one group at time. Memor have been handed out the symbionts that enhance toughness and strength. Only problem is it will require more food/water to sustain them after all you got to take care of the helpful lifeforms as well if you want to keep enjoying the benefits.

Mad science was performed to create human versions. Then word quickly spread Vilebloods state they will send a caravan for pick up of new stock in a few turns. They'll even bring payment of some kind.

assorted vehicles. Most of them converted to bandit.

Bandit cohesion with our current forces is currently underway. May take a while though.

Massive amounts of human symbionts have been produced.

The horrors unleashed the day we upgraded the brewery will be forever remembered as the day that that horrible horrible fluids were produced.

So any reason why I saw Irewin charging into the garden waving around a machete while screaming about hops that then tried to attack and eat a GHOUL of all things

...not my fault I grabbed Dr. Claires new hops during my experiments.

That is because you ASKED FOR IT.

Oh yeah what about forgetting to mention that you WATERED THE DAMN THINGS with Luna's whatever.

How was I supposed to know both of them would interact in such a way?

There was a piling of increasingly dead seeming bandits and wasted Viroz stumbling around muttering about weird ass mojo. Meanwhile some representatives sent by the Hilly Billy family were also not spared when they came by to renegotiate trade. Mostly in the fact that after taking a sip they become lethargically depressed and muttered about how it even better then Grandmas special.

Finger biter fish research concluded that we could it has potential. As in interesting properties. Considering they can bite your finger off then replace said finger as itself. Not to mention being able to massively adjust their mouth and body to enable it. Creepy.

>>27561271
Erh correction 35 resource points.
>>
>>27561223
>27900 people excluding fleshies and borgs and stuff
Oh god we're getting there, if it weren't for those damned zombie hives.
>>
>>27561274
Partially.

Ghouls wont say just saying that they are waiting for a certain resupply.

>>27561276
I'm not sure what direction the finerger biter fish can be taken in...
>>
>>27561260
Gonna thread tommorow EDE?

>>27561315
I. . .hmm, I'll have to sleep on that.
>>
>>27561340
Hopefully.
>>
>>27561315
>>27561340
I got IT.
An arm fish.
That bites the stump of a severed arm.
The molds right back into a perfectly good arm.

Two strongarms for the strongarms.
>>
Rolled 75

>>27561367

What sort of interesting properties do the fingerbiters have? Or does it require more research?
>>
>>27561381
Requires more research.
>>
>>27561377
Or. . .or. . .a bigger fish that bites somethings head off and replaces it as the brain, for control of the body.
>>
Rolled 53

>>27561395

We should set Richard to this. (War-Criminal tier scientist...looking at fish.)
>>
Rolled 63

Well, we suddenly have a shitload of trade goods...

Props to the guy who's idea it was to make the brewery.
>>
>>27561475
We better plan to start selling Memor Mojo and beat out any competitors.

And then if we're being threatened "no more Memor Mojo". That ought to get them running to our aid.
>>
>>27561475
Brewery has some kinks to work out considering how many heroes you assigned to it.
>>
>>27561475
Thanks. It's yet another step towards a sucessful Operation Market Garden.

>>27561504
We'll work out the kinks later. Heh, maybe something good'll come out of that too if we're lucky.
>>
Rolled 18

>>27561475

We could combine the hops plants with genes from the plant that grows massively with radiation (though it sounds like Claire might've already done that).

>>27561500
Or we say "Hey guys, if these guys attack us we'll have to cut back on the Memor Mojo." And a ravening horde of Hillbillies descends upon them.
>>
Rolled 74

>>27561504

What sort of kinks? Aside from the ghoul-eating plants, that is.

On another note, we should probably just go out and raid hostile bandit bases the next few times we need resources. We need to be careful not to piss off the stronger bandit factions though.

EDE, do the bandits have population growth?
>>
Rolled 88

>>27561560

Like, our bandits.
>>
>>27561590
>>27561560
Also on that note, what is Bandit society like?
Do they have wives and families? Or is growth via recruitment? Specifically ours.
>>
Rolled 47

>>27561504

Also, does our disc of the bases show any bases hitherto unknown and/or unoccupied (like Burke's base was)?

Let's name Burke's base "Lair Burke" you know, keep the theme and keep it simple.
>>
>>27561641
I'm so used to calling in Base 02. Does that make us Lair EDE?
>>
>>27561504

I think I'll try to find and collate information on all the heroes and their traits/abilities, and information on the traits/abilities of all the units we have names for. I'm thinking I'll also try to get together a list of researchable items.

Would you like me to look for anything else? Can anyone here think of anything else that needs to be collated across threads?
>>
>>27561668
See : >>27553640

Usually he calls it "Lair EDE".
>>
>>27561668

Though "Lair" might be a bit of a misnomer in this case because we never converted it to a lair.
>>
>>27561701
Not sure. You could gather all of EDE's post on a month by month basis, like a history of our people.

Oh, also our numerous "guests" still avaliable and research items that we have hiterhto untouched.
>>
>>27561730

Maybe also important characters, named and unnamed?
>>
>>27561504
The Umbra corp extraction, what was it like? What did the team look like?
>>
>>27561750

And factions+info
>>
>>27561773
Yes, were they in advanced power armor? What vehicles did they come in? etc.
>>
And can we get a link to the last thread?
>>
>>27561858
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/27521902/
>>
Jesus fuck EDE, you're messy.
>>
>>27562466
What do you mean?
>>
>>27562523

I'm trying to compose a guide/collate pertinent information from all the threads. It was a headache just to straighten out the chronological order of all the links in the archives.
>>
>>27562538
Haven't you tried Suptg?
>>
>>27562560

Yeah, it's the numbers on the threads themselves are wrong sometimes, and sometimes the months don't advance per turn like they should, and sometimes the links between threads are broken.... blech.
>>
>>27562634
Looks like EDE is in need of a major update to his programming
>>
>>27562720

Bah, I won't be able to finish this by tomorrow. Maybe by Tuesday but not tomorrow.
