Not really, if you move backwards with a punch then that will lose some of its power to movement. If you manage to stand there thanks to the friction, then you'll get hit by its full power. If you can just shake that away like its nothing then you wouldnt have needed the friction power to stand your ground in the first place.

A good way to use friction in defence would be with parrying. Just make your own body or your oppenenst fist frictionless and it'll just slide off without harming you and throwing the other guy out of balance.
