>Current World Alignment: 0. Serious Business.
>Current Waifu Level: 0.27+0.20 Waifu points capable of being drained from Konoko.

>Competing Waifu: Konoko
>Konoko's Waifu Level: Annoying Childhood Friend
>Competing Waifu: Riritu
>Riritu's Waifu Level: Unknown.

You are a waifu- an entity created to be a romantic interest for the narrative surrounding the protagonist. In this case, a total jerk. You are supposed to hang on every word, fawn over every deed, sigh wistfully at the mere thought of him.

You have other plans.

"Miko? Are you okay?" Konoko is looking at you with some concern. You've got the bridge of your nose firmly gripped between thumb and forefinger.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," You just got the absolute worst sense of deja vu there, "So, Riritu lives here? How'd you find this out?" The prospect of having to share living space with that was not a welcome prospect. It wasn't right though- things were moving far too fast. This kind of plot twist should take more time-

"Well, I was doing more normal childhood friend thing, fussing over Anon, and then suddenly the door opens, and the bitch is there with a bag of chicken nuggets and a worried expression on her face. She got awful self righteous too, all like, 'Oh how could you not tell me this had happened to poor Anon-kun!' and stuff, saying that she was lucky she had come home tonight to see him," Konoko is kind of taking this well, you think.
"Does she have any kind of justification for living here?"
"Well, I didn't get a chance to ask her- I heard you come home and figured we might come up with a plan. For dealing with her. Permanently," Ah, there's the old 'violence can solve anything' Konoko you know.

You really don't want to deal with this shit. This has been a long ass night already, without Konoko getting paranoid. You glance at Anon's room- yep, evildar is pinging from there. Riritu would be in there alone with Anon. Oh noooo.

>Your move.
>>
>>27474570
Well, for now, let's act in character. We sense evil. Let's barge in with Konoko.

Anon may like having multiple women fuss over him, and it would open up a window for us to question Riritu on what she's doing here, how long she's been living here, and where.
>>
Fuck yeah, Waifu quest.

"Yeah, we can remove her right now, but lets make sure we can't use her. If we get her into a damsel spiral, we can completely ignore this. I'd also like to make sure it's not this girl who's the one who killed Deadoko."

Also, hey, Twen, what did you mean by 'Running out of time' on the twitters?
>>
>>27474570
How enthusiastic was Anon when he saw her?
>>
>>27474570
We should go make sure she isn't trying to pull that control thing on Anon like she kept trying to do with us. Konoko you shouldn't have left her alone up there with him
>>
Anon's still kinda out of it, so I don't think he was doing anything.
>>
>>27474645
She could be killing him.
>>
>>27474570
>>27474635
>Yeah, we can remove her right now, but lets make sure we can't use her.
Let's not say this. It makes us sound manipulative.

Rather, let's just default back to what we said to her earlier when we came home; she may be annoying, but she might not be that bad.
>>
Okay, so, roughly speaking it seems we want to bust in to make sure nothing bad is going on, while trying to cool Konoko's jets.
>>
>>27474664
>she may be annoying, but she might not be that bad
Yet. Still, I also think we should wait and see what she plans on doing.

I think >>27474629 has a good idea, and it means we can get Anon to explain Riritu's presence.

>>27474639
He's still unconscious.
>>
>>27474702
Yep.
>>
>>27474664
>Rather, let's just default back to what we said to her earlier when we came home; she may be annoying, but she might not be that bad.

Anon's still knocked out. Goth-genki is an invader, and is badly fucking with the Narrative. She -could- be fucking it so badly that no Actual-Konoko is studying Nerco-soccer. If we can use her to have the MC hating her, but a buffer between him and us, I'm all four it.

Of course, if Anon -isn't- awake, yeah, I think we should go with >>27474635 Seeing as the damn bastard has this uncanny knack of being the biggest pain in the ass.
>>
>>27474702
No.

I want to feed her murderlust. Then it will grow. Nourish the need for blood. Let it GROW.
>>
>>27474635
Oh, also, the running out of time business means that basically I need to finish Waifu Quest before the end of October because of other engagements. I'd expound more, but that would be douchey when there's a post needing to be written.

So, I'm going to be kicking things in to overdrive as much as possible while hopefully keeping things cogent.

Anyway, enough crosschat, back to writing.
>>
>>27474754
But Waifu quest is awesome! It reminds me of Thursday next only set in Japan, not an Emily Bronte novel.

But, alright.
>>
>>27474570
When I saw this thread I thought it said "Wakfu Quest". I was disappointed...
>>
>>27474702
Sounds good to me.

>>27474657
If we could only be so lucky.
>>
"Ugh. Konoko, chill, in all probability, it's Anon's doing at this rate. I'm sure he'd be the sort to love coincidentally living with a bunch of hot chicks fighting over his dick-" You really wish this night would end.
"Or it could be her getting a better angle to plot against us! If Deadoko-"
"Hah, you're using that name too."
"Shut up, but if what she says is right, maybe Riritu is the one doing it?"
"Don't know, but I do know narrative wise, I'm sensing EVIL that way, so we can bust in. God, why'd you leave Anon alone?"
"Because I didn't want to get cornered by her. You're the one that's good at this backstabbing stuff."

"I'll ignore the implication, and take that as a compliment," You draw yourself up to your full height, and take, one, two, three deep breaths. You bring a hand up to your chest (Oh, you need some kind of amulet thing to hold on to for focusing on stuff. Maybe have an angsty background for it.) and wear a determined look on your face. Probably in character, you make the run for Anon's room.

"Anon-kunnnnnnn!" You shout in an unnecessarily whiny voice, pulling open the door. Still the dim angst ridden hole of a jerk, only lit by a dim candle on the dresser. In the flickering light, you see Riritu kneeling by Anon. She glances up at you, looking completely innocent. Wearing her school uniform. Looks like some chicken nugget crumbs at the corner of her lip. Drawing what seems to be a pentagon around Anon in a red glow in the dark ink. You see Riritu snap a pen shut as soon as you enter.
>>
>>27475145
Or we could be suggesting that she is.

But we already have one Antaginost.
>>
"Wha- Bullshit! I was gone for maybe two minutes at most!" Shouts Konoko over your shoulder.
"Fufufufufu~<3" Riritu's eyes narrow, her pupils focus in to slits, and in the light you swear her corneas turn red, "So, you've found me out so soon, then, Ahura Mazda's chew toy?" You gotta give her props, that may well be the stupidest thing you've heard all day, "Kuku, I had hoped to twist you subtly- to make you renounce JUSTICE willingly...But I see I must be more active now- I must reveal who I truly am! I am not Riritu, mere exchange student, I am-"

"Lilith, yeah, biblical Lilith, or Akkadian Lilith?"

It's really hard to stay in character when all the plot twists are this transparent. You do enjoy Lilith's moment of confusion, as she starts at that.
"Wha- but how? How could you have known?"
"I don't suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome?" You glance around Anon's room- hm. A lot of those blank undetailed books turned occult in the mean time. Great, you'd have to work to clean that up.

"Can I kick her now?" Konoko pipes up, eagerly, "I mean, I totally should be able to, right?"
"Ohhh, you might try," Riritu stands from the floor, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow, "But, you'll be the one left moaning and sweating on the floor after wards, dear~"
"Are you allergic to grammar, or something?" You're exasperated. Right. The evil waifu. Every angsty fucker needs a femme fatale. You glance at Anon. Out cold still, thankfully. Wow. What a wuss master. You don't have to worry about staying in character, at least. You seriously hope you don't have to do some sort of dream diving or something-

Actually, come to think of it, you frown at the pentagram around Anon. Maybe you could turn this thing around, assuming Riritu wasn't sentient and wasn't pushing for her own story.

>OPPORTUNITY:
>You may, with the expenditure of 0.1 waifu points, raise the world alignment. May be discounted if you think of a good cheery scenario.
>Your move.
>>
>>27475172
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit alignment get.

Maybe we can, like, Divine Holy Justice Mark of Cain Magic Lillith's ass? Smite the unholy and everything turns bright and sunny?
>>
>>27475172
What qualifies in general terms?

Like we think of a cheery reason for said pentagram?

Or just think really happy thoughts?
>>
>>27475172
>OPPORTUNITY:
>You may, with the expenditure of 0.1 waifu points, raise the world alignment. May be discounted if you think of a good cheery scenario.

>>
>>27475172
>"So. Chicken nuggets. They're somehow.....important for this ritual..."

Point out something humorous. Chicken nuggets make any situation hilarious.
>>
>>27475172

We could throw some kinda priestess energy charm to counter her pentagram or repurporse it?

Or we could say we feel the pain of betrayal she suffered and heal the old metaphorical wounds with our kiss power and use that hilarious awkwardness to raise the world alignment maybe?
>>
>>27475172
*kiss the ammulet*
*take a running start*
"MIKO-KIIIIIIIIIICK!"

fucking kick that bitch through the window.

"STRIKE!"
>>
>>27475172
>>27475261
Addendum: Have Cringer leap out and lick around for crumbs. And he ends up smudging the pentagram by accident. It'd be cute.
>>
>>27475172
RAAAAIISIE!

"Sorry for this, Konoko." Cough, adjust silly hat. "You, oh demon of lust, shall not taint this house with your evil! Justice, in this pure soul, in my warrior friend, will defeat you!" Cough again. Nod to Konoko "Ok, kick her teeth in."
>>
>>27475261
>>27475264
Hm. Funny, or serious?

I think serious, let's do >>27475264
>>
>>27475172
Burn the 0.1 point. I want the world alignment as high as it will go.

Also see if Konoko's willing to split the cost down the middle; this helps both of us.

And I can only hope somebody more creative than me can think of a cheery twist. The only thing I've got is having us know she would've summoned a rather polite and kind demon on accident.
>>
I'm thinking more like what's it called- Sleepy Hollow, where the weird pentagram ward thing was actually a protection spell?

We recognize "wow it's actually a healing thing Riritu-chan is being nice after allllll" have a bonding moment, things get sunnier due to FRIENDSHIP.
>>
>>27475281
Or this.
>>
>>27475290
Funny is better, it would give us a discount for raising the world alignment. Which is what we want.

>>27475264
>>27475281
>>27475287
Let's not treat Riritu's antics with any sort of legitimacy. If we treat the situation as her just being an inept occult fanatic, it may give us a discount to the cost of raising the world alignment.
>>
>>27475283
>>27475261
These
>>
>>27475172
Point out that the chicken nugget crumbs she spilled made it into a ritual of healing and love.
>>
>>27475345
>>27475336
>>27475261
Meant to connect.
>>
>>27475172
Gotta get that alignment. Give Konoko a holy magic boost so she can JUSTICE KICK Lilith in the face. JUSTICE and FRIENDSHIP in one combo, evil cannot survive.
>>
>>27475317
Aye. Making sure she's seen as an inept occult fanatic, and denying legitimacy to her stunts is probably the best way to go here. It might also manage to cut stereotypical Lovecraftian horrors from the narrative, which can only be a good thing.

>>27475283
The involvement of chicken nuggets is also a good idea, better than what I came up with.
>>
>>27475345
Eh....this is a bit corny.
>>
Okay, two routes then.

Option A:
The first, involving kicking Riritu's ass with the power of friendship.

0.5 cost to you, and Konoko would pitch in the rest eagerly.

Option B:
"Wow you're bad at this Lilith."

0.5 cost, chance of neutering Riritu's designs- but would require a roll. 5 1d100 rolls, need at least two above 65, try to avoid the 90-100 band.

Six minutes vote, then calling it and writing.
>>
>>27475391
Enh, going A.

Our rolls have been pretty shitty.
>>
>>27475391
Wait, they both cost the same?
>>
>>27475391
Voting for Option B.
>>
>>27475391
I like A. /tg/ dice tend to be unkind.
>>
>>27475391
I vote A.

Makes Konoko happy, and annoys Riritu minimally, in the event we want to work with her later.
>>
>>27475391
>B
>>
>>27475410
Yup- but one involves making Riritu mad. The other rests on /tg/ dice.
>>
>>27475391
Why not both?
>>
>>27475391
Wait a minute, 0.5? Did you perhaps mean 0.05?

What about the option for a world alignment change?
>>
>>27475410
No, the first costs double, but Konoko is eating half the cost so we pay the same.
>>
>>27475444
...

You make a good point I fear. I should have made that an option.

>>27475448
Durp. Yeah, I'm a titanic moron.

0.05 cost for both.
>>
>>27475391
Option B.
>>
>>27475441
I don't get how making Ritiru look like an idiot makes her less mad than kicking her in the face.
>>
>>27475459
Both it is!
>>
>>27475467
Well. For one thing. Getting kicked in the face would hurt her. Being shown the problems with her scenario would embarrass her. And people who are embarrassed aren't necessarily angry at the person who embarrassed them, but rather, at themselves for not having seen it.
>>
>>27475492
What this guy said
>>
>>27475467
Kicking her in the face doesn't involve putting our fate in /tg/ dice, which have a tendency to fuck us over.
>>
I say option 2.
>>
>>27475492
But in this case we'd be burning points to MAKE her summoning not work.

She did it correctly, we just fucked with the world to add errors.

So it not working is 100% our fault.

Assuming she's sentient, that is.
>>

No, we fucked with her. That is to say, we manipulate the narrative to show that she doesn't really understand what she's doing.
>>
"Hold on Konoko!" You shout, raising a hand, "I don't think 'Lilith' here knows what she did."
Lilith narrows her eyes, stepping over Anon- a lithe, scaly tail falling from out of her skirt as she does so. Konoko makes a noise of utter frustration as she hops from one foot to the other behind you, but otherwise stays still.

"Ahhh~, you think you know better than I, Lilith, eater of men's souls, stealer of hearts, and stalker of shadows does?"
"I sincerely doubt that."
"Oh?" She raises a hand, and fire sprouts from the palm of it, "What more proof do you need?"

Unbeknownst to her, a shadow speeds between your legs, drawn by the smell of deep fried chicken.

"Well, for one thing, using a glitter pen to make an occult sigil is hardly tier one material- you couldn't get some blood?"
"I make do with what I can get," She pouts.
"Secondly, I can't read what you had planned for Anon here-" You cock your head at the sigil, as Cringer dives in to the paper bag of grease and hardening arteries, "It looks like a seal of Solomon, maybe with some kind of Ebonite writing?"
"Fufufu, so you aren't as stupid as you look-"
"Yeah, and the chicken nuggets really bring it all together. I remember well the day that Ronald McDonald overthrew Belial as Arch Duke of the Plane of Terror, it's how they manage to get those low low prices on their fries."
"That- that is completely beyond the point! I was TRYING to bring out Anon's shadow soul, the darkness he keeps hidden inside-"

Their's a flop and scratching noise, and then your kitten's meow as Lilith looks back at Cringer flipping out in her bag of food.

>0.05 waifu points spent.
>World Alignment, +1!

Konoko flips on the switch for a helpful dose of metaphorical reinforcement as Cringer runs around, paper bag on head, skittering across Anon's floor, treading little red ink cat prints all over the place.
>>
"No, no! My rite!" Your possibly demonic opponent dives after your kitten, her menacing aura neutered.

"Can I kick her now?" Konoko asks.

With world alignment +1, your cat has more than enough plot armor to survive Lilith's comedic swipes and prat falls. He sprints out of the room, bag still on his head, running between your legs. Lilith comes to a halt an inch in front of your face. Her eyes have returned to their usual blue as she stares after your kitten, then looks at you. She narrows her eyes.

"Hmph! You win this time...Miko-chan. But rest assured-" Insert usual rival speech here. She certainly doesn't seem sentient. Seeing how quickly she rolled with that punch, and her outlandish idea of what was subtle with Anon didn't exactly seem smart.

But you can't shake off the worry as she lectures you, doing the usual laughing behind her hand, thinly veiled references to how her big tits are better, leaning over you, and all that crap.

"-So, watch yourself, dear! I'll have you yet, you and Anon, you can be sure of that!"

>Riritu lost unknown amount of waifu points!

That's interesting. You glance to Anon as stealthily as you can- did he just turn his head away?

If only you could surgically remove your sense of shame, you would be awesome at this. Still, time to act concerned.

"Okay, okay, enough, of this," You grab Riritu and start pushing her out of the room, "Konoko, would you mind getting her out of here? We have to check on Anon-kun- he can't afford to miss school."
"Huh? Oh, yeah, sure," Konoko grabs Riritu, dragging her outside, "C'mon, loony."
"Wha- how dare you lay hands on Lilith! I am not to be mocked, I won't forget thiiiii-" Whatever other protests she might have had are muted when you shut the door. Leaving you alone with Anon.

Caring, caring, being nurturing and shit- you glance around the room, looking for helpful towels, maybe a thermometer, change of blankets? A pillow? Is it cute to swap out pillows? Whatever.

You kneel down next to Anon and put a hand on his forehead. Fever? One moment, he's got his ass kicked, now he has a fever? This narrative is so shoddy you wouldn't be able to recognize if it was coming apart at the seams. Leave it alone.

You carefully hold his head up, and put a new, fluffy pillow under it, taking away the sweat soaked one. You look at him. Still with the sleeping beauty act? Great, whatever, hopefully he'll appreciate this. With a sigh, you stand up- And then feel his hand on your wrist.

"Ko-Konoko?" He whispers. No, no, no, NO. You're supposed to do this shit like halfway through, when you're faltering on your course. God, the guy had no idea of pacing. You blush, and shake your head.

"No, I'm sorry. It's just Miko-chan."
"Ohhh. I'm sorry," His eyes open, weak and watery- one eye red, the other green. Merry Christmas, "I, I should thank you Miko-chan. I overheard...You really helped me back there."
"Konoko was there too, Anon," You try your best to shimmy your wrist out of his grip, "Wasn't all just me."
"...You remind me of...Never mind," His eyes focus, and you see a twitch of a grin cross his face.

"Is Riritu causing you trouble?"

I like this one, too.

Also, I -know- this pacing is all kinda messed up, but maybe we should chance it: Push him to tell us about his sister, see if we can drag her out of 'I am evil story-wrath' ASAP?
>>
Eh, none of these really super conflict. Putting it all together.
>>
"Eh?" You blink, and then shake your head, "No, no, not at all. She's just... A little strange is all," You grin at him, then reach back and hand Anon a convenient bottle of water. Thankfully, he takes the hint and lets go of you, so you can scootch away, "Don't you know her, Anon-kun?"

Anon stares at you.

>0.01 waifu points lost. New level, 0.21!

"I'm sorry Miko-chan," He's not stuttering anymore. He sits up, to stare at you levelly, "I don't want to talk about that right now."

You wonder if he's aware of what he's doing. The way he tenses up, stares at you- maybe he's trying to be conflicted. Trying to show that he's been hurt before, and has a rough exterior you've gotta push through, to get to that soft and tender side within. He might be just unaware how much of a god damn mine field he makes ordinary conversation. Or maybe he was at heart just an asshole.

"Miko?" You glance back up. Oh, now he's staring at you like YOU'RE being weird.

You contemplate for a moment being honest with him. Then think better of it.

"Eh, oh, I'm sorry, Anon," You whisper, "I...Do you mind if I ask a question?"
"I never mind," He says it with a smile.
"You said I reminded you of someone. Can I ask who?"
"Oh...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. She was...She was a girl I used to know. She...Well," Anon frowns at this, shakes his head, "I'm sorry, Miko-chan. I just, I just can't."

"Ah. It wouldn't happen to be-"

"I felt you. Earlier," Anon interrupts, "When I was hurt," Yeah, how DID that happen anyway? "I was in a bad way, but...I felt you, and suddenly I felt a lot better. And. Something else- do you know what happened, Miko-chan?"

You're about to say it in the most frank and blunt way possible, but hesitate. Maybe he'd be a fan of making you a victim. You could net a lot of waifu points out of it, maybe. But then he'd know a weakness of yours.

>Your move.

By narrative logic, we have to tell him so he can have his big stupid angstfest and we can be maximum sadface and everything is so horrible because we can never be together boo hoo hoo. So, we really should tell him.

If he wants to play at being conflicted and mysterious, we can do the same thing. Make him curious about what we did for him, hinting that it was a difficult thing for us to do, but without outright saying it because we don't want him to tell us never to do it again.

>>
>>27476567
The problem is that he'd find out about ways to make us the damsel more easily.

This god damn punk thinks he can out mysterious reference you? Fuck that. You aren't a damsel, and you're not going to just gush all over him at the quickest opportunity.

"...I'm just glad you're alright, Anon."
"Miko?"

"I'm sorry, I should let you sleep. We have a busy day tomorrow."
"He-hey, I was asking you something!"
"I'm sorry, Anon-kun. I just can't."

>0.03 waifu points lost! New level, 0.18!

This rampaging cuntasaurus asshole. He glares at you, looking annoyed and confused. Great. He thinks you're a victim, and he's confused why you're not being blubbery and sad. Too bad, Anon-kun, too fucking bad.

"Aren't you curious about what happened to me?"

He sounds almost plaintive there. Whiny. You stand up, walk to the door, "Of course I am. But if you don't feel like talking..."

>PROTAGONIST OPPORTUNITY.

You wait for the shoe to drop, then...Nothing. Apparently, Anon feels that this is a very important moment. You don't look at him, but you use your Ki sense to check behind you. Sure enough, his fucked up essence looks to be bent in on itself, thinking, thinking. Will he actually do something sane, you wonder. You glance back. He's staring to the side, thinking. Chewing his lip. Not deciding. You guess you've given him food for thought.

Oh well, jerks will be jerks. You slide shut the door behind you.

You see further inside the house, Konoko is working in the kitchen. Riritu is nowhere to be seen. You walk to interrogate Konoko about the missing harlot.

"Riritu?" Konoko frowns over her rice that she's cooking, "Apparently, she lives over down that hall," She waves her knife down the way. Weird, you never noticed that hallway before, "And she flounced over there. Started crying actually, part way through."
"Crying? Seriously?"
"Yeah, but don't worry too much about it, they were the big gushy tears, no actual meaning behind them," Konoko stares at her knife, then at the rice, "Why am I cooking rice with a knife?"

Poor writing, you guess.

Anyway, chatting with Konoko.

>>
>>27477193
>And airing plans to become protagonist on your own.
Wait, who said this? No one did, I think.
>>
>>27477193

You know, I am surprised that no one else isn't more worried that Anon may have just heard our extremely meta discussion with Riritu. I'm guessing him catching that would be a VERY bad thing.

Assuming that to not be the case, the fact of the matter is that this angsty douche is going to ride this occult train into oblivion.
>>
>>27477193
What will happen to Konoko, Deadoko and everyone else if we wrestle Protagonist powers off Anon?
Will everyone, including himself be forced to suck up to us if they don't want to risk deletion by irrelevance?
>>
>>27477193

So, let's put it in perspective, we have only a small amount of plot power at the moment centralizing around the whole lab scene. We should leverage that as much as possible, use it to get Deadoko her rightful place in life back and then figure out a way to punch the angst out of King Derp himself.
>>
>>27477193
Well, Anon decided not to follow up on his confrontation chance.

Fucking hell, he's cooking up something nasty right now in place of the confrontation.
>>
>>27477248
I certainly don't object. Though, maybe co-protagonist with Konoko would work better.
>>
>>27477193

I think one possible solution for all of this would be to try to place the lab as some sort of Ki refinery (through foreshadowing), a facility devoted to taking natural Ki levels and amplifying them by ridding them of impurities. In that way, we stand a chance of this whole arc ending in the King of All Crackpots getting the angst powers purified the fuck out of him. Best case scenario is if it leaves him sterile and thus well out of our way as we assume our new protagonist status.
>>
>>27477043

Does anyone else think that it might be a good idea to go ahead and undercut Lillith's narrative by just outing her to Anon directly. She can't foreshadow and build power in the background if she is suddenly revealed. And as a matter of fact we have the proof in the (presumably still there bed sheets). Of course, I am beginning to suspect that Anon brought her into existence to perpetuate the angst. We have established that he is very dangerous to our continued existence when upset.

The safer plan is simply to make an idiot out of Lilith, which shouldn't be hard. Turn each of her "dark and mysterious" attempts on their head, and she won't last long. I call this "the Team Rocket" approach
>>
"I am not having a good night Konoko. First, I meet a narrative zombie, come home to learn I live with an incompetent demonic slut, and then Anon burned a bunch of my points because I had the temerity to ask some questions, I tell you, I have had to deal with some douchecanoes before, but this guy is pretty fucking bad as is."

"That sucks," Konoko sets aside her knife and turns to you, leaning against the counter, "And just when you made things brighter for him. Were you...Sarcastic?"
"I have my pride, damn it. I'm no damsel."
"Y'know, you could just roll with damseling for a bit- then come back from that?"
"Yeah, sure, 'oh I'll just get caught in this trap, no big, no big, oh sure I'll just let myself get tied to these railroad tracks, just a little bit, that's all,' then the next thing you know, you're a functional illiterate that gets up staged by some floozy that can do all of tying her shoes together, no, no, NO," You think. Contemplate the knife, "We can still hijack this plot, Konoko."

"Agh, not this again," Konoko groans, turning back to her rice.
"No, think about it. He wants ME to be the sick girl- but he just went out like a chump. The narrative will roll with it- all we need to do is make him over exert himself, just a little bit in training. Today was GREAT while he was out."
"Yeah, I'm low, and you're lower on points because he was out."
"Only because he wasn't out long enough," You start to pace, "We hit him with an accident, relegate him to the hospital- or, or, banish him to some kind of negative zone inside of a trophy, and have to win the soccer championship to bust him loose!"

Konoko is quiet. Good sign. You press on.

"It's been done before, we can do it again!"
"...We'll need power for that though. We'd have to last long enough for the narrative to realize," She's starting to think on your lines. Good.

"Well, yeah. Hence me coming to you."
>>
>>27477419
Also works to brighten the narrative. So, we'd essentially be using her to make a more light-hearted story. I find the irony in this delicious.
>>
"I have an idea. But-" She points at you, "You're going to have to swallow your pride."

"This is going to be ecchi as shit, isn't it?"
"What? No, no! I'm trying to get things innocent!"
"Really. Then what POSSIBLY will interest Anon if not that?"
"Well," Konoko thinks, "Riritu just pushed this in to an occult bent. So, we feed off of that. Just. I don't know, say that there's a monster sealed under the soccer field. Tomorrow, we practice out in the field, you accidentally trip the wards on it, it pops out, we have a quick fight, Anon gets a chance to be cool, we bask in his post-murder high."

"A monster sealed under the soccer field?" You're getting a headache, and try your best to push it aside with a hand on your forehead.
"What, do you want to push on in to your lab already?"
"...Maybe? Maybe the lab's actually staffed by good guys, that are misunderstood- there's plenty of fodder for Anon to be the antagonist."
"Nope, nope, nope, that's a quick road to you being the antagonist. Not to mention that leaves me out in the cold. AND you had that jackass mind control me earlier. How are you going to explain him?"
"Well I don't want to be an idiot that unleashes a monster! Anon's already frustrated I'm not a vulnerable ditz!"
"Well, who else will do it?"

You both pause. Then look to Riritu's room. Konoko seems to be thinking.

"Y'know. I always wondered what happened to characters that disappeared...Off screen."
"Wait, I was thinking that Riritu would trip the soccer monster for us. What are you thinking, Konoko?"
"Hm? Oh, oh, yeah, definitely the soccer monster thing," Konoko rapidly nods, "Nothing else."

Setting aside Konoko's rabid hatred for Riritu, you have some inadequate options. You're low on power though- you can feel yourself on the edge of the narrative as is. Something must be done.

>Your move.

>>27477248
>I'm doing this as sort of an apology for making people get hyped for the chance of going protagonist. Just wanted to lay out some ideas.
>>
>>27477458
>"Y'know. I always wondered what happened to characters that disappeared...Off screen."
While we're talking about Riritu, we should tell Konoko that Anon-kun got pissed because we mentioned Riritu. Combined with how displeased he was with her back during the tryouts, Anon-kun may not like Riritu, but tolerates her for some reason.

At the very least, if she's really gung-ho about doing away with her, we should at least find out everything about her first, because she seems to have a connection with Anon-kun. Maybe connected to his 'inner darkness'. And getting rid of her may just lead to Anon replacing her with something worse. At least with Riritu, we can still render her ineffectual, like in the scene earlier.
>>
>>27477458
First, we need points. Vulnerable's a no-go. But, adorable, socially-awkward ditz we can do. We can do Konoko's soccer monster idea tomorrow, do our buff bot thing, blush furiously and act embarrassed when we're thanked for our help and bask in the sweet sweet waifu points.
>>
>>27477458
I'm also thinking we should tell her about the other 'personalities' we've felt.

Also, we have Science-magic, Lilly has bad demonology. Pushing the Occult angle might not be too bad, we jsut have to find a smart way to do it.

So, we were -gonna- be sports based, but someone, maybe Anon, maybe Konoko, maybe someone else fucked with the prolog - and Anon seems like he was never gonna let this be strictly Sports...

Maybe a Youma team. First cheer leading session, first soccer match...against Demon soccer players.
>>
>>27477555
>But, adorable, socially-awkward ditz we can do
Yep. That sounds safe enough without dumping us into damsel in distress territory.

Don't think we'll manage any more points from Anon tonight, so sleep and timeskip to tomorrow?
>>
>>27477518

>>
>>27477586
Plus being unironically offensively lewd without understanding why it's wrong is hilarious.
>>
>>27477458

So, summoning monster soccer players? That could work, but it takes this narrative just south of daffy in terms of looniness. I honestly have to say that sports is no longer a possible theme within a sensible narrative. Konoko won't want to hear that, though.
>>
>>27477633
Nonono. A monster, under the soccer field.

Just a regular monster. Big, ugly, vicious, that sort of thing.

>>27477628
Indeed
>>
What if the old coach that got fired was a lich and his lair is under the field?

Think about it. Soccer Lich and his team of zombies.

He challenges everyone to a game of living vs dead. Like space jam or something, except with skeletons.
>>
>>27477458

So, we are going to attempt to summon soccer oni to the field (maybe during an actual soccer match). This could work and be hilarious (especially if this is Riritu's doing and she is expecting kill murder demons). Not sure how many points we would need to spend to make them rockus frat brothers who were sealed away after they lost a in their words "completely heinous game of <insert sport here>.
>>
>>27477682
Suitably ridiculous for a positive alignment world.
>>
>>27477574
This, the soccer monster becomes a demon-youkai sports team. And some curse or whatever will be unleashed to the world (soccer themed of course) and anon-kun has to agree to a challenge against the soccer demon. The rest of the demons are themed as different sports and they swear revenge after the first one is defeated, scattering to all directions.
The vessel would be an ancient-legendary trophy that was broken and nobody knew about the demons save for some old thome in the school library or something.

Might work too well, different sports themed adventures, episodic and everybody gets a chance to shine.

>>27477666
Well, a big ugly monster would be boring after a while and we need to keep the rating in the positives

>>
>>27477458

As the person who suggested the "Ki purification factory plan", I would like to explain myself more clearly. "Pure Ki" doesn't mean nice Ki. In fact, one could argue that a truly pure Ki host would have to be stripped of just about everything, and the process of doing that is not nice. Mr. Evil who we summoned, a sociopath stripped of his memories, purified, and then escaped to find himself suddenly super powered.

Long and short, I'm not suggesting the labs be a nice place, just a place that attempts to create the most powerful weapons they can. That's morally grey as hell.
>>
"Well, in any case, nothing can be done here. It's dark o'clock, so I can go sleep. Keep me abreast though, yeah? I don't want to get blindsided."
"Sure, sure," Konoko waves you off, "Go ahead and sleep. I won't do anything without giving you a head's up. We're in this together, partner."

You give a nod, and walk to the hallway, watching it blend and whirl away as you go to your room.

You shut the door, teeter over to the bed, and in an exagerated show of exhaustion, flop on to it. One good thing going for this shit, when you want to sleep in this story, you just fucking SLEEP.

"Why are you trying to stop me?"

"Hm?" You mumble in to your pillow, on the border of consciousness and sleep.

You glance up. Look around the room. Check the ceiling. No one there. Whose voice was that? You would've recognized Lilith. You scan the corners. Look for creepy dolls-

Wait. You're in fucking Deadoko's room. You roll out of bed with a yell. Why are you experiencing this? You going to bed is supposed to be inconsequential shit. You tumble away, open the door, and back out of the room.

>Unknown is attempting to affect the World Alignment.

It's a lot darker in that room than you expected. You ping it with ki sense- a presence, just a momentary ghost of a presence that immediately disappears. You look around, try to find any way to brighten things up, put a stop to this-

>Unknown has canceled attempt.

That was a late ass notification. You really don't know why you were so unsettled by that. You entered the wrong room, that's all. You stand up, brushing away the dirt. Get a grip.

But it was the same fucking person from that time in the locker room. That's all you can be sure of. Some angsty fucker. Fuck that shit.

>Character arc. 08%.

Growling the whole way, you find your way to a room that you force to be yours not decorated by dead little sister crap, and flop in to the bed there.
>>
You're surprised when you wake up, walking through the hall in cute pajamas, going to the breakfast table, to the smell of cooking food. Oh boy. Breakfast table drama.

Strangely, Anon sees you coming, and immediately grabs his bookbag and heads out. Lilith on the other hand is devouring all that she can grab hold of. Weird to see her so brazenly sitting at the table. Konoko comes out of the kitchen with another steaming plate of something, and smiles at your presence.

"Hey, Miko-chan!" She shouts it. Perhaps a bit too loudly. Anon hesitates on the way out, before pressing on and leaving. Lilith on the other hand, waves happily at you.

"Mikochan!" She winks right before appending the honorific. Her mood has much improved, "I'm so happy to see you~ we can all walk together to school now, can't we?"

"It's funny I've never seen you at the breakfast table before," You mumble, still a bit unwilling to get close to her. For a girl swearing vengeance on you earlier, she's calmed down.

Konoko lays out a place for you, and clears her throat, "Lilith actually had something very important to mention."
"Ah~ Yes," She has a sorrowful look as she wipes away food enough to feed an African village from her face, "I'm very sorry, Miko-chan for being so bad last night," A tear comes to her eyes, "I never meant to say such mean things. I...Well," She blushes, looks away, "I know now what Anon-kun means to you, and to Konoko- and I stepped far beyond the boundaries of politeness!" She bows down to you, "Please, forgive me! I don't know what came over me!"

You glance up to Konoko. She shrugs. You really don't have time for this shit, and you're not sure why exactly you're having this pointless scene in the first place. An unproductive moment, over all.

"Lilith...What are you exactly?" Konoko asks softly.

"Well," She stays flat for an awkward moment, "Ummm~, not if it's too much trouble, but can I get forgiveness from Miko-chan first?"

Persistent, isn't she.

Konoko in the kitchen pantomimes vomiting. Yeah, yeah, laugh it up bitch. After Lilith thoroughly soaks your shoulder and back in snot and tears, you manage to disentangle her. She's still crying, as she falls to her knees.

"I...I'm so sorryyyy..." She brings up the hem of her skirt to wipe away at her face, oh Christ, black lacy thong, you desperately get interested in the ceiling, "I just...I just want to have friiiiieeeennnnddddsssss..."

"All clear. He's gone."

"Ah, thank you Konoko. Lilith-chan?" You smile at her, "Do you know waterboarding is?"
"Is it like surfing?"
"No, but I can show you, if you don't tell me what's going on between you and Anon," Cringer chooses this moment to jump in your lap as you kneel down across from her. Lilith stares blankly. Konoko meanwhile looks disturbed.

The gears in Lilith's head turn and she gets a coy look, "Ohohoho, I get it...Are we getting jealous<3?"

Oh god the hearts are back. You keep still, but Cringer fluffs out in fury.
"Stick to the point, Miss Lilith."

"So, what, you're a devil?"
"Oh god please don't make her say it-"

"Hmm," She looks up at you, "Why don't you ask Anon about that?"
"Okay, let's leave that alone- what, specifically, has Anon made you do?"
"It's a S-E-C-R-"
"Never mind, Konoko, all I need is duct tape, a wet towel and a board."
"As fun as that would be," Konoko starts, "We do have to go to school. Now. Before Anon suspects anything."

"URGH. FINE, you!" You point at Lilith, "You're going to answer some questions, secrets or no secrets when we're through in school."
"Oooooh," Lilith stands, happily, "Truth or dare? I love that game!"

Lilith is definitely not sentient, you conclude. At least you learned that. Konoko seems pretty confused about the chronology however- her first memories are of Anon coming in at the airport, and then her taking him to his manor, then going to the diner to meet with you. She's hard pressed to think of a time wherein Anon could have gotten away with a demon summoning.
>>
"Maybe he did it as a kid?" You and Konoko are standing in front of the gates of the school again, ready in your uniforms. Lilith flounces past in her get up stolen from a particularly trashy amateur porn.

"I don't think so," Konoko frowns, "Something just doesn't add up. I don't know- whatever, we'll worry about it later. I gotta go to class. You prepare whatever the Hell we're doing. I'll drag Anon to the soccer field, you do your part."

"Whatever you say."

Konoko jogs off for class. Fortunately for you, you don't have the reputation for being a delinquent, so you can walk in to class whenever and be on time.

Then your evildar pings. You groan, roll your eyes, and glance across the bland crowd of kids streaming in.

Smug asshole in a mesh shirt and white hair, 7 o'clock. That antagonist you created earlier, heading your way.

And he's dressed in a school uniform. Great. You could probably just try to avoid him- you do NOT want to get pulled in to another side plot right now.

On the other hand...

You stop, stare at him as he comes walking to you. He's got long white hair, and a smug look on his face. His nose is long, and he has stitches coming from the corners of his eyes, working back into the long white hair. That doesn't, that doesn't even make sense. You've heard of Glasgow smiles, but this is retarded. Experimentally, you switch the ki senses- yep, he's got some serious ki flow, this punk does.

He approaches, and coincidentally, the crowds start giving the two of you a wide berth. You squeeze the handle of your book bag as he walks up to you. This moron might be useful, actually. Aaaand he's walked past you- wait, no. He's doing that thing where you walk right past someone and talk in to the air.

"So. Subject Zarathustra."
"That's not my name..."
He chuckles, "Do you think dogs come up with their own names? That's what you are after all," He licks his lips obnoxiously, "A bitch."

Oh shit, he used a swear. You can tell he's the real deal.

"I wonder," You hear a match strike on paper, and then a cigarette catch. You smell tobacco on the air, as he inhales for a gratuitously long time, "Do you think you can live a normal life, the way you are? You're so stupid. A pet trying to live like a person. Heh. No one will ever look at you as anything but a monster."

>0.01 waifu points spent! New total 0.22.

"You're wrong," You try not to let the boredom leak in to your voice, "I...I have friends. I've found my place. I don't need you, don't need the lab."

"Hmm?" The smoke blows past you again, "I thought I heard the barking of a dog just now," You feel his hand grab your shoulder, and spin you around, to face him, his hands gripping your shoulders hard enough to hurt. His nasty expression is sharp with anger, "I didn't say 'speak,' now did I, bitch?"
"Let go of me," You stare impassively back at him.
"Feh. You've gone feral, bitch," Jesus, drop the dog metaphor already, it's fucking dead, "What? You play fetch for someone?"
>>
"Nope, cheer team, for the soccer or football depending on your country of origin team, we're actually going to play a game tonight, what a wacky coincidence."

Your antagonist narrows his eyes, then gets a cruel look on his face, "Heh. Guess somebody's going to get some rolled up newspaper-" You hope this won't be his running theme, if only he'd just shut up.

"Sir?" Praise God. Someone came up behind you, "Everyone's watching..."
Mesh shirt glances up over you, scowls. Then let's go, and walks to school. You scratch your shoulder. Now you're sore, what a dick.

Not really appropriate for a +1 universe, is it? You glance back, and see a plain looking man in glasses and a suit. He gives you a quick bow, before walking across the street to an unmarked van. Generic dickbags to provide excuses

You glance back to the asshole in white hair.

>##//@3/7@//##
>////sentient

Great. Another sentient too. You frown. That can't be right. Oh well. Figure it out later. A quick glance around doesn't show him anywhere. He'd be fresh, considering you just made him. Hopefully he wouldn't get too in character. You roll your shoulders, trying to will out the hurt, and go to class.

"Ahh, everyone calm down, calm down please," The teacher waves her hands feebly, trying to bring order to the class, "I know, it's very exciting, that the ban on soccer has been lifted this year."

True enough, the class is strangely excited. Guess the +1 alignment is in play here. People waving little banners, chatting up their players- you note with some pride Konoko's name is mentioned. Fujiwara is waiting for you when you arrive, she practically blitzes to you when you open the door. She talks about cheerleading junk- proper cheers, the proper motivations of spirit, yadda yadda.

You keep an eye out over the school courtyard. Right now, you have +1. No problem. You can't shake the worry though.

Well, first things first.

In the middle of Fujiwara's endless speech (Really, it's quite impressive the amount of lecturing she's producing) you remember Cringer, and wonder where he is.

True to form, her rant is interrupted by a mew.

Fujiwara stops mid rant to stare down at your bag, then up to you, eyes narrowed, "Archimboldi-san?"
"Mm?"
"Was that a-" Mew.

Fujiwara puts up her hands and throws her self back against the far wall, "W-w-w-w-was that a cat?!"

"Yessss?"
"Cat?" Some other girl says, approaching curious. Fujiwara meanwhile is having a minor conniption, staring. Obligingly, you open your book bag. A cloud of class mates manifest around your bookbag, daaawing- before noticing the third eye on the kitten, and making a mixture of daws and noises of confusion. Fujiwara, however-
"I forbid it! I absolutely forbid it!"
"You haven't even seen the cat yet, class rep."
"I don't care, it, it, it, it's terrible! Bad luck! Unhygienic! Ecologically devastating!"

You stare at Fujiwara, fuming and sweating, fist clenched. Weird. Thankfully, the bell saves you, "Ah! Lunch time, thank you class representative Fujiwara, have a nice lunch!"
"B-b-b-" Fujiwara shrinks from you as you walk past, Cringer under your hat.

You head up to the roof top, changing in to your cheerleader uniform- and true enough Konoko was there, sitting against the chain link fence. She smiles at the sight of you. Strange that no one else is on the roof.

"Yo! Oh, hey, cool, you brought your cat."
"Cringer's only a kitten."
"...You're sticking with that name, huh?"
"Never changing."
"Right, silly me," Konoko sighs, "So, everything set?"
"Yep!" You practice your jumps, waving around the pom poms, "That guy from when we first met? The one that mind controlled you?" You turn, setting your pom poms on your hips, "Jeez Konoko, your face is going to get whiplash from all the smiles and frowns you're doing."
"Why."
>>
>>27479009
Well more than anything there was that supposed background character that was helping him out who might be sentient while the antagonist isn't

Everyone else in that scene we either would have pinged as sentient or seen already and saw them as the one dimensional background characters they are
>>
"He was going to bug me- by the by, we gotta get the world alignment up to point where it censors swears, I'm getting real tired of that guy real fast."
"So, you just invited him in?"
"We already had an antagonist, figured we should use him. How do you practice cheerleading anyway," You wave your pom poms experimentally, "I have no idea how this crap works."

Konoko scratches the back of her head, "Well. We do have a positive world alignment. Side from that, I'm hoping I can give him a real good kick in the head," She smiles at the thought, "Been owing him that for a long time."
"Yeah..." You frown, "Hey, when did you learn I was sentient?"
"Hm?" Konoko thinks, "I dunno. I mean, when you dropped the childhood friend thing I suppose."
"Well, yeah... But, do you...Do you get a notification?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like, 2 of 7, or something like that?"
Konoko raises an eyebrow, "No, no, I don't get anything like that. Do you?"
"Yeah. After we had our agreement, I got that idea in my head," You shrug, "You don't huh?"
"Nope," Konoko goes back to looking over the school, "Why do you bring it up?"
"I got that thought when I met up with the antagonist."
Konoko raises an eyebrow, "But he was just created."
"Yeah."
"Then there's no way he's sentient," Konoko looks up at the sky, "I would have known."
"Wait, what do you mean by that?"
"I had him take a walk in my head. I would have known."

Konoko's tone makes it clear that line of conversation was over.

After enough time hopping around and waving your pom poms (You even tried a somersault!) you judge enough time has passed in your montage to let you get through with the rest of your classes. The only highlight was the lack of Lilith. Well, that and Fujiwara hissing urgently about the cat menace to you. Finally the day ends, and your cheesecake teacher indicates that you can go.

School's out. Time for extracurricular activities.
>>
The objective of the soccer game is to wound Anon, right? What about we "arrange" things so that the Antagonist is killed in it too?

You come to the soccer field at a jog. There's a few milling people, but you're the first to arrive. You mill about, seeing soccer players and cheerleaders alike assembling, and make small talk with background characters. A few mentions of the cursed soccer team of '88 raise your eyebrow, but you leave it be. Eventually, you do see a sulky Anon being hounded to the field by Konoko, who waves you over.

"Okay, Konoko, you dragged me out here-" Anon catches sight of you, and looks away, suddenly interested in a crowd further off, "Uh, so, uhm, what are we doing?"

"Anonnnnn," Konoko whines, "I wanted you to see me play! Come on," Konoko puts her hands on her hips, and frowns, "I've always been there for you."
"Sure. Sure Konoko," Anon still is interested in the far side of the field, "I...Guess I don't have anything better to do. I'll be sitting over there. Have a good time, Konoko," He glances back, nods at her, then looks at you, and nods. That's all. With that, he walks off. Wow, he's totally ignoring you. Konoko shakes her head, "Sheesh, maybe it'll be a lot harder to get points off of him than I thought."

"Eh, he's a perv. A few backflips, and we're golden."
"Do you know what your antagonist's plan is?"
"Nope," You smile at Konoko, "But it can't be that bad, right?"

"Sure, sure," Konoko sighs, "Whatever you say."

>>
You make especially sure to follow all the directions of Fujiwara. You manage to even improvise a cheer picked up by the crowd!

In the middle of a spinning quadruple backflip launched by your fellow cheerleaders, you glance out at the crowd. Hah, Anon's staring at you. This almost makes the pain of Cringer clinging on to your scalp underneath your hat worth it. You give him a smile as you plummet down like a red comet with your braid after you and are caught by your fellows. Anon almost looks uncomfortable. That's right, fucker. Your adolescent hormones can't resist the power of a cheerleader's uniform.

"Rah!" You all shout as you recover from the landing. Shit, this is actually kinda tiring. You glance out on the field and see Konoko launch a soccer ball in to a goalie, sending him hurling in to the net. You can't help but wonder if that actually counts as a goal, but before you can figure it out, you see your antagonist pull something out from under his seat and put it on. Some kind of stupid shiny oval mask. He touches something on the back of the mask, and with a flash, his trench coat of belts, leather pants, and plate greaves show up on him. Naturally, no one in the crowd notices.

Half is over. Everyone's jogging back to their places, the announcer is talking about something involving the rest rooms nearest the east side being closed, when you see the antagonist get up and start pushing his way to the announcer's. You glance over at Anon-kun. He's moping still. Oh well. Fujiwara approaches you with a smile.
"I'm sorry for doubting you, Archimboldi-san! You were great!"
"Sure, sure, no problem Fujiwara," You glance up at the announcer's to see your antagonist enter it, "Uh, though, you might want to get back to the lockers real quick."
"Huh?"
>>
>>27479204
Yay!

Now if we can stop spending them on creepy antagonists like they're going out of fashion, we might be able to make Protagonist yet.

Maybe we can just smother Anon in his sleep, or something.
>>
"Attention vermin!" Your antagonist's voice has hit a strange register- huh, mask has a pitch changer built in you guess. Anon glances up, eye brow raised. The crowd dies down, as all turn as one to look to the announcer's. Konoko walks back on to the field, curious.

"I come bearing good news! Your lives, now have meaning! I am Knight Exodium," The Yu-Gi-Oh monster? "Of the Anti-Order of CRUCIFIX. Among you, you have something only marginally better than you filth- a runaway dog. This...Dog holds value in this pathetic sport. I have watched it- and found it wanting."

There's a tap on your shoulder- you turn, but no one's there. Just a hand waving to you from the rest rooms. That's a good thirty yards away from you.

"Your sport, like your liiiiiives, is meaningless! But, I am merciful!" The confused crowd are milling around. Anon is still sitting still. Come on, jackass, get going! "Your great flaw, is that there is no challenge, no thrill to watching you play- like insects, fighting over a chunk of cheese. So, I shall aid you. For this, this football was mastered, centuries, millenia, EONS ago- you are but hollow simulacra of those greats!"

There's a rumbling all around you, and you see cracks showing up in the soccer field. You see the hand waving more frantically at you.

"Reflections- meet that which you reflect!" Something huge, shifts the ground, and you see sod and dirt torn asunder, as a vast creature rises out from the dirt, "The true masters of soccer!"

"This is so god damn stupid," You can't help but whisper.
"Oh fuck YES!" You hear Anon shout from the stands.

A massive, skeletal tyrannosaurus rex rears it's fleshless skull back, silently roaring defiance to the heavens- but flames grow from the ground, surrounding and surmounting the creature, giving it an all too terrible roar that shakes you to your bone.

"Really? Fucking REALLY?!" Konoko shouts to the announcer's booth.
>>
"Hmm? Who is this...Ah. There you are, you vermin."
"Dinosaurs! WHY dinosaurs! I don't think there were even any t-rexes in Japan!"
"Hmhmhmhmhmmm," Your antagonist chuckles over the mic a particularly moist chuckle, "Oh, I think we have our first volunteer. Execution method: Jurassic!" The ghost fire illuminated T-Rex turns to regard Konoko, green flames swelling and spilling from its jaws.

"Tyrannosaurus Rexes were from the Cretaceous period, asshole!" Konoko shouts, dodging out of the way of the creature's fire breath. This knocks the crowd out of its daze, sending them fleeing in all directions.

Anon meanwhile is still in his seat, his expression at once a look of absolute joy and tortured despair. For some reason, he's not moving.

"Please!" You hear from the rest rooms. A male voice, strangely. Familiar. The hand is still beckoning you, "Over here!"

Skeletal dinosaur attack. You frown, glancing at Anon. Was this his fault? He seems happy- if strangely paralyzed. Whatever- you see Konoko running across the field, dodging green fire that devours all it touches- you feel the heat from where you're at. Your douchey antagonist cackling with glee all the while. Fujiwara is tugging on your arm, "R-r-run Archimboldi-san! The curse! The curse is upon us!"

God damn, why is it NOW everyone wants to talk to you all at once?

Yes. Shout to Konoko to get her attention and point to Anon-kun. If it seems like she gets the message (Anon is paralyzed; get him moving), go see whoever it is that's calling us.

Also, let's take Fujiwara with us.

You thinking of ending soon, Twen?
>>
"Konoko!" You lean on the railing, shouting down to her, trying to get her attention. But she's too far, and too distracted.

"Dinosaurs didn't invent soccer!" She's shouting at the announcer stand.
"They didn't? Then why do they have such huge legs and heads, and such little arms! You can't use arms in soccer! It stands to reason they're the perfect players!" You can't argue with that logic.

"No! No it doesn't!" Konoko slides between the skelerex's legs, and performs a bicycle kick to it's ankle- which just results in her shoe catching fire, leaving her to hop away, "And why does it breathe fire? There's no fire breathing in soccer!"

Right, enough of that, Fujiwara is still fruitlessly tugging on you, shivering in terror. You look back at Anon, sitting still alone in the bleachers. "You, why aren't you down there helping her!"
"Uh-" Anon glances down, then to you, "Gimme a bit."
"Wha- there's a flaming dinosaur, right there! Anon, Konoko needs help!" You glance at Konoko. She's looking scuffed up. Then up to Anon. He's still sitting there. Why?

Focus. Some jerk is waving to you. Hopefully, he'll have some kind of ass pull power to save you, "C'mon Fujiwara," You tug her after you, going for the rest rooms.
"Wait, Archimboldi-san-"
"Follow me, or run, Fujiwara. It's up to you," You pull toward the restroom- the hand slips away around the corner, "I'm going to go see what the friendliest ghost wants."
"A-Archimboldi-san..." Fujiwara lets go of your arm. You care not. Then she picks up speed, trotting after you.

There's no sign on the restroom door, but you shoulder it open. As soon as the door swings shut behind you, the noise of the combat is blotted out behind you. Fujiwara jumps at that, and grabs on to you. She's shivering. Poor girl didn't have enough personality to cope with this. You look at her. She's ground her face in to your shoulder, eyes squeezed shut behind her glasses.

"Don't worry."

>Unknown is attempting to reduce the world alignment.
>>
You know what we need? MISUNDERSTANDINGS. Have us be seen with a boy only for it to turn out completely innocent. Not now though, only a bit further down the line. Shit like that is a perfect attention-grabber and puts us into center stage with a free two episode arc being included in the package.
>>
You jump at that. Fujiwara glances around in confusion.
"Archimboldi-san? What? What is it?"

Why is it so dark in this rest room? You frown, reach for the light switch, give it a few experimental flicks. Nothing. You get an ominous feeling.

"You came," You hear it further in the restroom. Your evildar isn't pinging. You blink, switch to Ki- nothing. You recall you have good night vision, and blink, squint. Vague outlines.

Cringer under your hat starts shivering.

"Oh, thank God you came. I was worried. But..." That voice. A masculine voice. He sounds very sad, "I don't know what to make of this now."

"Who are you?" You step carefully in front of Fujiwara. You don't have any narrative reason for it, but something's twigging you out.

"You don't remember- of course you don't," He sounds bitter, "I did...I did ruin it after all."
"Ruin what? Fujiwara, get out of here," You whisper the second part to Fujiwara. This is that generic guy, you bet. Of course. Any moron that shouts about dinosaur soccer isn't going to be sentient.

You hear a rattle behind you.

"It-It's locked, Archimboldi-san!"
"Archimboldi?" The voice in front of you draws forward- you see a shape, roughly in the shape of a man down the way, "Oh. Is that your name now?"
"Help! Help! HEEEEELPPPP!"
"Fujiwara, get a grip," You hiss. Fujiwara's shrieks descend in to whimpers.

The shape nods, "You're always so kind, aren't you? Always so kind. But- she isn't real, you know? Oh, but never mind her."

This is a cliche all its own, but not one that you're used to being on the other side of. You hold your ground as he draws forward. The generic man in glasses. His brow is furrowed, his very posture bent, on the edge of tears.

"You're always beautiful," He whispers. He raises a hand- then retracts it, and steps back.

"I'm sorry. I'm...I'm still me. I can't take back what I did," He turns away, shuffling back in to the bathroom, "But I want you at least safe."

>Your move.

Wait, crap, I can't sleep. I need to dish out rewards for fanart.

Let's see...

Three fanarts, so let's just offer three choices. I'll see what the vote totals are like when I wake up again.

1) Sob story with a uplifting/depressing moral. You can pull out this item at any point to shift the World Alignment up or down 1 level, with difficulty rolls based on how things are at the moment. Will require one scene and one named character to babble this at for it to take effect.

2) Ranged ki transfer. Enter a meditative state, and have your spirit merge with another to grant a link between you and them for them to draw ki from. Great for buffing friends. Only work within sight range.

3) Fossil sense! You can sense fossils within one hundred meters. Basically, come across dino bones whenever plot convenient. There is a long long road to animating dinosaur skeletons to do your bidding. This is the first step.
>>
>>27479911
3
>>
>>27479911
KI TRANSFER.
>>
>>27479911
2.

3 just doesn't jive with us.....and I'd rather we not associate ourselves too much with dinosaurs. Just so that we can expand away from it, thematically.
>>
>>27479911
Option number two. I want something to do in fights, now the plot is picking up.

Three sounds like it'll take ages to get something useful out of it.

One we don't need because we're at a decently safe point at the moment.

>>27479942
>Taking the bait
It's like you want Anon to have the capability to long range ki-suck us
>>
>>27479951
Why yes, it gives us excuses to stay away.
>>
>>27479951
No, our spirit will only be projected outward when we meditate, so we'll be fine.
>>
>>27479911
1 and 3 seem like a option that can badly backfire so im going with the 2
>>27479951

>Only work within sight range.
>>
>>27479951
We can choose when to use it, and who gets our ki. We just won't link with him if we can't absolutely avoid it.

We've already got enough abilities which have limited immediate use but could sue development - no need to get yet another.

Upvotes on the archives will slightly decline after or during your first four sessions, at times coupled with a spike in downvotes. Don’t overthink this. People always get bored and move on, start to hate the game or simply find out about it and vote it down. Always look at the total amount of votes on a thread. A low positive/negative score coupled with a high amount of votes usually points to your game having left enough of an impression to make people get into vote wars over it, make of that what you will. OC by newcomers tends to get lower scores at or around 17 to 24 while games by established QM or in established universes are usually higher rated. Always take that into account as well. Older threads tend to “age up”, meaning that their rating can climb months after the thread happened. Quests where the oldest entry has a score of 50+ and the newest sits around 20 are not unusual.
>>
>>27479766

>>27480220
>Ahhh, that was hilariously sad.
I think it was rather that he tried for the wrong kind of subject and atmosphere. Or it at least contributed. I hope he slowly weans himself off of fanfic in favour of OC on any count.
>>
>>27480236
Well, it was the fans that came in and were expecting Bleach/Spiderman.

Actually, that's one good thing about not having a single tripcode. You can't get branded as being only here for one thing another. You can have a range, without a fanbase following you around trying to make it one thing or another. You don't have to get stuck to expectations.
>>
>>27480202
A single name means any people who dislike you or want to hijack the thread also follow over.

Plus you'll get people talking about your other quests while you're running one.

There's also no need to do so - if your quest is good and interesting it'll get plenty of people. (Twen is a new trip, but not a new QM)

I'm very tired, so I can't go in to it, but basically, slow writing, player expectations vs QM expectations, and...Well, this is my opinion, but Cosgrove is actually kind of a poor writer. When doing something original, and more than that, doing something original in something that's been done over so many times like a generic 'cyborg quest,' you gotta work hard.

>>27480307
This is my problem right here. I write good beginnings, get fine accolades- then it's a long slide down.

I can never get people talking about events after the beginning like Shadow Quest, or Hollow Quest or fucking Blatant Fetish Quest. It's demoralizing. I write good beginnings, but they can't go anywhere I think.

>>
>>27480360

>>
>>27480333
Quests aren't really so much about great writing so much as they are about keeping attention and interest and being able to think on your feet.

Really, only a very few quests are so well written that I'd consider reading them without participating.
>>
>>27480397
Name 'em.
>>
>>27480412
Waifu quest, for a theme I haven't ever seen before. (if I wasn't already participating)

I have considered reading magical girl noir quest, for similar reasons, but have yet to find the time.

The other quests I've participated in really aren't worth reading once the thread's done. A few jokes that were funny at the time, some epic rolls, but nothing I'd call excellent writing.
>>
>>27480458
>I have considered reading magical girl noir quest, for similar reasons, but have yet to find the time.
I should probably note that I don't know whether it's actually good enough to be worth reading, having not read it yet.

The early posts look promising, however.
>>
>>27480523
>>27480458
It's worth it. It gets shit for the "Noir" part of the title but it's pretty decent.

>>27480360
Kind of like Magica only that he improved.
>>
>>27480523
I have read it from the start, story wise it is great but sometimes you just have to skip all the retardedness that goes on in the side comments

Sadly the choices steered it away from noir rather quickly but it still manages a nice darkish tone
>>
>>27480726
I think there was a site which catalogued all the QM posts, as well as the post he was responding too. If I read it I'll probably use that, or just ctrl-f on the QM's trip.
>>
>>27480754
There is an ebook that should be mostly up to date at
http://pastebin.com/kbGzcbDb

Some guy does it for most the quests I think
