You tell your war buddy, Heihachiro Hojo, about everything that has happened, about the rebellion, about the Sidarxi, and about your “friend” in high places. You finish off the glass of bourbon as you tell the story while Hojo listens intently.

You write down your real intentions on a note and pass it to Hojo along with your suspicions of surveillance.

“So, what's in it for me?” asks Hojo, not skipping a beat.

“According to her, the fact that we won't be exterminated. Perhaps she knows about your marriage.”

Hojo looks down at the plain wedding band on his finger. He'd gotten it after moving to America.

“I haven't seen my wife since '39, you know,” he replies.

“INTERESTED. WOULD LOVE TO FIGHT AGAIN,” says his note.

“Perhaps, but since she was able to find my sister, maybe you can find your wife.”

“She probably died in the invasion, Fritz. I've almost given up,” says Hojo.

“THANKS. HOW TO RECRUIT? WHERE?”

“What do you say, buddy?” you ask, passing back your response.

“Anything for a friend. If anything, this is the lesser evil. Best to deal with the devil you know, right?” he says.

“I suppose so, Hojo.”

“REBELS, OTHER VETS. YOU KNOW WHERE THEY FREQUENT.”

You nod.

“Thanks Heihachiro, I appreciate it.”

You shake his hand.

“Up for a smoke, Fritz?”

He pulls out a box of cigarettes and a lighter from a drawer. The orange flames catch one corner of the paper, turning your correspondence to ash. He smiles wickedly and then offers to light your cigarette.

You decide to take a taxi back to your apartment so you can actually get some sleep. As you look into the mirror, you realize just how bad you look. Your bleary, bloodshot eyes are set deep into the sockets. You're covered in bruises from the fight. You can barely stand. You shower and take go straight to bed. Your sleep is untroubled by nightmares and memories of old battlefields.

You are woken by the sound of someone knocking at your door. This time, instead of waiting for you to get up, whoever it is just waltzes in. You slowly open your eyes and get ready to hurl a pillow at the intruder.

The door to your small bedroom opens and you see that it is Yezrina. You throw the pillow at her anyway. She throws it back.

“Good morning, Mr. Heller.”

“Good morning, Captain. I'm afraid that now is not the best time.”

She smiles sweetly and replied, “I don't really care about your time. What I need is for you to be on task. How have things gone so far?”

“Hojo said that he was interested. I need to find a few more people.”

“Hmm, that's decent progress, but you need to get four more people over the next two days. Is there anything you would like to report?”

Here's a notebook sketch from when I was mulling over the idea. This is to show the evolution of sorts of the general design. There are a few problems with it, one of which is (aside from my artistic abilities or lack thereof) is the two-piece of breastplate. Later sketches have a one-piece breastplate. A further issue is the length of the tassets. Later drawings have them longer to protect the "muscles" which extend from the hips down to just above the knees.

“Well, Hojo was a little reluctant, like I was at first. Eventually, he agreed to go along with it. How are things on your end?”

She sighs.

“Waiting on your end. Time is of the essence. Get out of bed.”

You wave her away to respect your privacy and get dressed.

“I'll get the coffee started,” she says.

The breakfast is simple, bread and margarine washed down with bitter coffee. She must not be familiar with the human beverage. Time has healed some wounds, but your body still aches. She reads the newspaper and sips some of the coffee herself.

You get up to leave when she says, “Best of luck to you.”

You nod and go out the door as she remains behind. You stew at the thought of her there in your house, eating your food, reading your books. You shake your head to clear such thoughts. You'll at least be able to drink them away later.

You make your way over to the shantytown that sprung up after the war. It just developed into it's own little city, a mess of buildings jumbled together and untouched by any real architect's hand. Hojo was right, you do know where to go.

The bar is called “The Ka-Bar,” after that American fighting knife they developed to replace the old trench knife. They made a bigger, heavy duty version that more resembled a large machete for their power armor units. It's nestled between a brothel and some club. It's barred windows and the bullet holes in the front tell a story of conflict. You were there when the ISF decided to sweep the area. As it turned out, the residents were willing to shoot, and police weren't willing to kick in doors and eat a bullet on the way in.

You walk in, light up, and sit at the bar. You wait for the bartender to come to you and order a steak sandwich and a beer. You'll need a lot of beer before your through. It's a better vice than amphetamines, thankfully.

There are a few faces at this point in time. There's a woman with an iron hand in the corner, blonde hair closely cropped. You'd heard it was bad enough that the Yanks decided to send some women on the front in armor, but this was the first time you'd seen anyone who might fit the bill. There's a young guy at the bar with a raging high and tight, an EGA tattoo and another tattoo of the borrowed totenkopf that Marine Armored Infantry units used during the war. These seem like your most obvious prospects, but there are a few more candidates

Actually, if we do it right, we may end up with both.

The rebellion is a massive success, yet we do something that makes exterminating us a non-option. Either because of the damages or the cost. So the Drow end up trying to make us an actual ally/partner instead of a disposable puppet.

How? This is what I want to know. For one, I doubt OP is going to just screw us over since he liked the idea of us being double agents.

Maybe not all of them. But as terrorist groups have shown throughout history, there's always a faction of hardcore believers that will gladly accept whatever costs are required so long as they can hurt their hated enemy one last time.
>>
>>27355599
>and not go through a war
That was never necessary to begin with.
It wouldn't be:
"Lets wipe them out because they're suddenly a fucking threat for rebelling with their hyper advanced 20th century technology and propeller planes."
It's more:
"Humans aren't worth taming, lets just wipe them out like we wanted to"

I know it's a technicality, but yeah. We want them to come to a negotiating table or just fuck off. They can have their highway without actually controlling Earth.

>>27355628

Yeah, but then they lose out on all of the easily-accessible transuranic elements and hydrocarbon reserves. Not to mention, in order to make sure that humans don't become a threat, they'd have to keep up continual patrols to prevent any kind of human space program from developing.
Less problems in the long-run to simply wipe humans out.

>We haven't actually done anything yet but try to build up our own network.
We already brought Hojo in with the deal that we're going to backstab the Sindarxi and make the rebellion actually a real threat.

They could use it either way, and you're making an implication that we'd manage to outpace their own technological development. IRL we're pretty damn far off anything like FTL.

>>We already brought Hojo in with the deal that we're going to backstab the Sindarxi and make the rebellion actually a real threat.

Yes. It doesn't mean we rush into things, though.

“Would you like step outside for a bit?” you ask.

She gives you a scrutinizing look before shrugging and agreeing to come with you. You take out the small notebook you brought with you and write down the situation, your little scheme, and pass it to her. She reads it and her eyes widen.

“Smoke?” you ask.

She nods, and you pull out two cigarettes, and destroy the evidence.

“That's a harebrained plan, but it has a better chance of success,” she whispers, “I have one problem, though.”

“What's that?”

“Is there any real benefit to going against your handler? That seems like the best possible outcome for this.”

You lean against the brick wall as your finger idly traces the rough edges of a bullet hole.

We are not dealing with jihadists, or 'bad guy extremist terrorists' though.
>>
>>27356144
No, we're dealing with desperate men who used a nuke to cover their retreat and have a kill-on-sight order out on them if they're caught, who endured some of the worst fighting at Stalingrad, who have nursed a hatred of the Sindarxi and the ISF for the past 5 years.
They don't have a plan beyond going out there in patched together power armor and killing as many ISF and Sindarxi personnel, and collaborators, as they can, before they're inevitably wiped out.
I suppose they may be hoping for a Tet Offensive-like situation where they may all be killed but the Sindarxi media coverage will cause the Sindarxi populace to demand that the Empire pull out of Earth like the US pulled out of Vietnam.

But that depends completely on the mentality and culture of the Sindarxi; for all we know, they'll instead demand orbital bombardment of human population centers in retribution.

She leans in, pressing her hand against the wall, “So, what's your plan?”

You sigh and admit, “I don't know how much I can trust her, but I'm thinking more long term, almost like the Visigoths and Rome.”

“Okay, but I'm not sure how that is going to happen,” she says, “By the time there is an opportunity for that, we'll be long dead.”

“I know,” you say, “But we shouldn't settle for a lesser evil if we don't have to.”

She punches the wall and the iron fist makes crack in the facade. You look at her, and you see her smiling.

“I'll at least want to leave something that my kids can remember. They can't ask me what I did, and I can only say that I was out sucking dick to make ends meet while the world crashed down. Count me in, you crazy kraut.”

We're dealing with partisans fighting against occupation, that's what.

We have no knowledge of their plans. All we know is that the Choco Elves who didn't just bomb us instead of fighting a normal terrestrial war may bomb us now for getting uppity.

Seriously? The marine came out here to pick a fight when we invited Natalie outside to talk in private?

This might be a good question to ask next time Dread gives the option of talking with Yezrina
>>
>>27356395
OP & I think Yez addressed it.

One just wanted to bomb those savages out.

The other wanted to make peaceful first contact.

Instead a compromise was reached where they landed on our planet, fought us in a 'fair' war and made us surrender.

The setting is space elf dominated, but that doesn't mean it will be elf femdom quest.

OP was enthusiastic about peoples decision to not really cooperate as her bitch and you can kind of see it in the PC's monologue too. He was visibly disgusted and angered by interacting with the Sidarxi and ISF-goon.
>>
>>27356577
What do you mean unfortunately? Did you even read MCs EXTREME PTSD description of the shit he put up with in battle against these bastards.

I'm hoping she falls in love with us and we still go through with our plans to completely, and utterly ruin her day, destroy her people's hold on the planet, and ultimately deliver the killing bullet on her personally.
>>
>>27356806
I want to see all of this go off, and then one of the factions that the Sindarxi are fighting against comes in, wipes away the defending Sindarxi fleet, and then starts using chemical weapons to wipe out all humans from orbit.
I want to see the humans, in their moment of victory, realize that they've only just ensured their own extinction, and cost the Sindarxi Empire an annoyance.
I want to see that irony.
>>
OP settle it now. Will there be space elf femdom? No, but there could've been?

“Hey,” you say, “Don't worry, buddy. I wasn't doing anything bad to her.”

“I can vouch,” adds Natalie.

The marine calms down at this.

“Alright, that's good. I was worried that there would be some commotion with y'all, no offense” he says with that distinct Texas twang.

“None taken,” you say.

“Y'all want to bring it back inside?”

You smile at him, “Would you like a drink?”

He pulls out a challenge coin. You didn't have that same tradition in the Fatherland, but you understand. You whistle appreciatively as he tosses the heavy bronze coin to you.

“5th Marine Raider Armored Infantry Regiment. That's nice, I remember reading about you crazy Yanks fighting to defend your capital. I don't have that, but I was part of the 36th Armored Grenadiers Battalion in the Wehrmacht.”

“Congratulations on making it out alive,” he says, as you decide that you really like his variation of the Texan accent, “I ought to give you an American welcome. The name is Kenny Logan.”

The three of you go back into the Ka-Bar, and you order a round. Afterward, you go outside for a smoke where you explain the situation to Kenny Logan much like you did to Natalie.

He mulls it over and replied, “I can help find a few more people, but-”

“But what?” you ask.

“They're supposed to be dead.”

“Really,” you say, laughing, “Well so am I, but look at me now.”

For clarification, Yezrina's faction wants the rebellion to start and do some damage, but to control the damage so that it's not enough for the warhawks to get enough support for complete extinction of humanity, enough damage for the humans to think that they gave the Sindarxi a black eye, but have the rebellion so thoroughly put down that everyone will accept that humans completely lost this second round of the fight; is that correct?
>>
>>27357189
Yes.

Space Drow or Chocolate Elves?
Space Elf Femdom Y/N? Was it an option at least?
Why Space Elves?

Is there another way of contacting you?

This is meta, but the route we're going for (Win without being wiped out or becoming vassals) actually possible?

Which is more delicious? Or which is a better descriptor for our alien conquerors?

>Space Elf Femdom Y/N? Was it an option at least?
It can be an option. I'll leave it at that.

>Why Space Elves?
It is my fetish. In all seriousness, it sort of built up. I wanted an alien faction that could relate to and could be related to by humans, but was sufficiently distinct. Space elves seemed like a fun and pulpy antagonist that fit those criteria.

I'm not quite sure, but I do recall doing worldbuilding a few years back for a novel or campaign about WW2 vs aliens with power armor developed due to alien energy weapons. That was more like Muv-Luv Alternative than this setting.

>>27357535
>This is meta, but the route we're going for (Win without being wiped out or becoming vassals) actually possible?

Yes, but it's a real tightrope.

>What do we know about Kurt?
We know about him from when he was Frit'z squad leader and their escape to America. After that, Fritz and Kurt didn't really keep in touch until the beginning of the quest.

>>27357591

More drow-ish than generic choco elves, but I'm trying write them in a way that they were smart enough not to have killed themselves off in internecine strife.

>More field manual

Organization

1. The Squad: The squad is the smallest unit containing the personnel and equipment for fire and maneuver. It is composed of five men, a squad leader who carries a modified .30 cal machine gun, a gunner who carries a modified .50 cal machine gun, a grenadier who carries a 77mm “Bazooka” rocket launcher or a breech-loading 60mm mortar, and two riflemen who carry modified .30 cal machine guns

2. The Platoon: The platoon consists of a headquarters team of a platoon leader and platoon sergeant and three squads.

3. The Company: The company consists of a command section consisting of a company commander, company first sergeant, and company guide, three combat platoons, and a support platoon containing six suit-portable 37mm anti-tank guns.

4. The Battalion: The battalion consists of a command platoon led by a Battalion Commander, Executive Officer, and Sergeant Major. It consists of a three companies and a transport company.
>>
>>27358398
>Squad
>5 People

That's not a squad. That's a fireteam, which did exist informally in many militaries during WW2 combat, but not official.
>>
>>27358554
I'm doing it more along the lines of a tank unit organization (5 men=1 tank, 3-5 tanks per platoon). This is because the capabilities of firepower and protection are more analogous to a light tank unit than an infantry unit.
>>
>>27358554
dude, its his setting, a squad could be 0.3 of a person for all I give a shit, this ain't based on reality...
>>
>>27358639
I really don't mind. That's why I post this bit of worldbuilding here. I enjoy arguing about and explaining why I picked certain things.
>>
>>27358639
It's his setting, so there's no need for you to defend him as if he's infallible.
