"I'm a laima, one who is taking a vacation. We gave Citadel an out and Citadel took it. He's Seven Thousand Years Old, it's high time he left the nest. Speaking of which CHEESE IT!" You shout.

You make a lunge for wagon, only to freeze when a giant wall of masonry smashes into your path, blocking your way.

"WE may BE trapped HERE. our POWERS may BE draining TO THAT fool DUSK...minless CHATTER OF DUTY...OR our ungrateful CHILD...TEACH HIM A LESSON...{his true purpose all along}...BUT WE HAVE...MORE THAN enough STRENGTH...HERE..AND NOW...TO DISPOSE of YOU! All good stories have the paladin facing down a great beast! YOU WANTED TO FACE CITADEL? Here it is!"

It looms in front of you, skin of brick, wood, and bone, eyes of stained glass windows, claws of iron made from countless weapons, and the anvils they were made of. It opens its maw of plaster, and jagged wood and belches out a gout of smoke and flame from a thousand fireplaces and forges that are within its belly.

Tar and wet daub and plaster drip from its mouth as it looks at you.

"So...ANY SpeechES left to SAY?" The God-Thing says. "This time I PROMISE {to listen to the WHOLE THING.}"

Seriously? You're doing this? Can none of you take a fucking HINT?

Your child, huh? To do with as you see fit? Light preserve us, none of you know what it is to have a child. Citadel wasn't a child for you, just a tool for you to use. Citadel didn't have parents, just a group of self-centered egomaniacs telling it what to do while it tried to make the best of a shit situation. Was it too much to ask for ANY of you to ACT like a parent? Do you even know how to DO that? Citadel made it's own choice, not me. If you're unhappy with that then go find Citadel and yell at it for being stupid, Light knows you've all probably done that before. How come I get the feeling that I showed more affection for Citadel in a few moments than any of YOU in seven ages? What gives you the right?

None of you could even be bothered to get off your asses and do your fucking jobs. You're all deadbeat gods angry that you can't masturbate to your own self-absorption anymore. Maybe if you did with your lives other than tell mortals how great you are you'd feel better about yourselves.

Go ahead and throw your damned tantrum, you CHILD.

You calmly turn around to face the God-Thing, your back to the Citadel Dragon, which is now growing wings made of ice and shadow, and your certain a host of other nasty things. "Alright, Lea...could I have a little music?"

Lea's body responds automatically as she's still staring at the giant monstrosity. She starts to pluck out a tune.

"Now, let me start with this...fuck you. Fuck each and every last one of you. I'm honestly starting to get tired of these speeches, because you never listen. I mean, seriously? You're doing this? Can none of you take a fucking HINT?

"Go ahead and throw your damned tantrum, you CHILD."

"WE. Are your. GODS."

"Well, when..." You stop what was going to be a rambling speech and then smile. "Actually. I'm done. I just have one more thing to say to you, before I finish you off."

"WHAT {is} THat you WORM?"

"YOU THOUGHT ME DEAD! YOU THOUGHT ME DESTROYED! YOU THOUGHT ME HIDING, AFRAID! NOW YOU SEE THAT I WAS ONLY WAITING. WAITING FOR YOU TO APPEAR AS SOLID AS I AM AND NOW YOU ARE HERE...AND SO...AM...I"

Old One grabs the giant construct in it's claws, beats its mighty wings and lifts the thing upwards.

"I AM OLD ONE! THE LAST OF THE GREAT DRAGONS. THE GREATEST OF THE GREAT DRAGONS. THE MIGHTIEST OF THE MIGHTY. FOR SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE OLDEST STORIES, DRAGONS WERE THINGS OF FEAR AND POWER. THE FIRST OF THE GREAT BEASTS.

AND NOW I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT THAT MEANS."

Old One flips the Construct in mid air and send it smashing down to earth in a flying pile driver, crashing it into the abandoned northern part of the city, sending up a column of dust, and a mighty roar that shakes the ground.

The God-Thing's human form just stares at you, open mouthed and shocked past words.

Everyone else is also looking pretty stunned too.

You have this image of a giant of a figure. Clad in furs and blood, a great beard on his face, laughing as he watched his warriors row.

You see the figure solemnly taking off his helmet to a figure that you can't look at. He surrenders and takes a knee. He knows his war is over, and he has lost. He surrenders and asks for his people's lives.

The bright one puts a hand on the warrior's shoulder. He fought with all his strength to the end, and would fight more...but knows the difference between war and slaughter. He is a God of His People first.

For his services...he will be rewarded. There is always a need, sadly, some days for words and reason to stop...and for others to get a crack across the jaw.

Beacon has loved his retirement.

He blocks Soma effortlessly, and you smirk and your friends just TEAR into the God-Thing with all that they have.

Beacon sings in your hand as it blurs. One strike and the arm of ice is shattered. Another and the light from it burns the arm of shadow away. A third and the plume of feathers is ripped open and scattered to ashes.

The last is just as before, piercing the mask of the God-Thing and going straight into the skull. You rip it free and the God-Thing drops to its knees.

Lea shoves it back and it just lies there. No fancy immolation, no great burst of light, not even Dusk's dignified presence escorting them to Beyond.

Kingfisher, the Fifth, the Phoenix Manifest (or at least the fragment of it that existed in the colony that made Kingfisher his avatar), the Crafter God, the Dragon Who Was Of Shadow, and Peace...all die.

Not with a bang, but a sad little whimper.

And with that, the story of the Paladin Serpent and the Dawnchasers, and how they helped bring the First New Age, comes to a close.

I guess that means we start making that epilogue list for whenever Echo decides to wrap this quest up once and for all.

>Ssen
>Tricia
>Mage
>Meri
>Peri
>Lea
>Ssah
>Ssai
>Granny
>Isen
>Tara
>Mumei
>Adahn
>Ava
>Sideways
>Sun and the rest of the Birds
>Stone Hall
>The Fey Court
>White Tree
>Coral Gate
>River's Cross
>Purple Sands
>Bronze Peak
>The Southern Colony

Am I forgetting anything? Obviously these epilogues aren't all going to be the same length.

In any case, thank you Echo for everything you've done in this quest. The worldbuilding, the story, the plots, the twists, the dialogue. Everything was perfect.

And lo, upon her death bed, Ssen could only account for one major regret (excluding her name), missing her opportunity for the perfect one liner.

EPILOGUE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvZgKRAacFc

The immediate aftermath of what happened that day is a little jumbled. Most of it talks about how King Itzak and Queen Consort Tara were there to greet Old One.

Schola Nitor scribes say that records of the fight between Old One and the Construct, epic in its scope, was mostly fabricated...but since that King Itzak and Old One were the ones who fabricated them, no one questions their truthfulness.

Still, people prefer that His Magnificence, the Old One, had an amazing duel with the last vestiges of the False God's power, rather than the one sided beat-down that it was.

It was said that also said His Majesty and His Magnificence got along quite well, mostly when King Itzak joined Old One in the battle.

The truth is that Itzak just slugged the first soldier that didn't instantly bow to Old One when he made his presence known to the army.

A good balance of deference and authority...plus King Itzak was always known to be able to be any person's friend.

Most of those days were just long and logistical. Helping people find their families, their homes, their new homes, and so on.

Strangely the record of the Paladin Serpent's involvement in that are rather scant. Although there are witness reports of a Wagon pulled by a Nightmare headed towards River's Crossing...and said Nightmare being seen at River's Crossing for a week. But those aren't the most reliable.

The remains of Shadow Company remained at the Ruins of Citadel. Helping with the reclamation and resettlement. Attempts were make to reform the Shadow Company now and again, but none had the same leadership as Janos' did. They're seen as imitations at best, or name stealers.

Princess and her owner/pet spent their days helping restore New Citadel. They were quite happy.

Leslie became High Judge Leslie and was one of New Citadel's founding judges. A good number of his salvage rights case law is still consulted.

Dao and Memai went back to the Southern Colony to secure Sun's daughter and to start the ground work on their bid for independence.

Sun, after speaking to you about Nakai's work, was able to eventually hear his daughter sing.

Sideways, despite offers to stay, went back with Sun and His Daughter when she was ready. She was a girl of the Empire, and the UFK would be a place she visited, but not her home. She did however, leave by way of kissing Ssen...and Tricia...and Mage. (Lea and Peri/Mari were busy that day)

The Southern Colony's story of how they achieved independence from the Immortal Emperor is a long one. They're still contention between the Land of Open Sky (it sounds better in Phoenix Tongue) and the Empire. However, the UFK is always there to help the LOS, should Empire ships start to get too close.

Princess Mumei lived as a 'jilted bride' until her 89th year. She took a husband from her flying class. They soared together for many years. Her children still make wings to this day.

Her Illuminated Self and High Father Billings were slain in the riots of White Tree.

Said White Tree Riots happened when information on how the Blessed had engaged in premarital sex was leaked when the Quartermaster admitted to the parents of White Tree about it, and how he was supplying them with contraceptives.

HIS and HFB, were forced to comment on it and in their panic, they tried to shift blame onto the Blessed. Saying how they had put their own souls at risk by indulging in carnal desires. This had the effect of dividing the town even further. Since the Blessed had the higher technology weapons, and did not like the idea that they were now damned. Grudges came out, and the powder keg exploded.

The death toll was pretty high, including many Blessed by each other's hands, and most of White Tree was burnt to the ground. The technology remains through.

The next Illuminated One was not chosen for many year. When she was found it was a lovely Mer girl from the rebuilt and resettled Coral Gate.

The Teachings from that time are very interesting...also the only ones in verse.

The Orc Tribes of the North were a problem for the longest time. Slavery and savagery were ways of life up in the north. It seemed that nothing would change them, save full scale genocide. Some orc tribes got the bright idea to 'sell' slaves to the UFK so they could free them. Slave raids became more common.

However the UFK was progress, and change. It also didn't hurt that every month more and more orcs left to find their fortune as mercenaries to fight for the LOS, or the UFK, either way killing Empire birds became a wealthy past time. Which made orcs rich, which they spent on finding out fun things to do with people. Which led to them bringing some of those things back to the North, bringing their families down to them...or just not coming back at all.

Eventually orcs became part of the UFK, and while they were still severe in behavior, they came to embrace the modern world.

When the last Northern Slaving Orc tribe was wiped out, it was orcs that did it.

The tundra is now being settled as best it can, and the Crafter Cities up in the ice are just now starting to be explored. CAREFULLY.

Purple Sands was the first city that the Open Sky rebellion worked out of. It was traded back to the UFK in exchange for their help in reclaiming the Southern Colony.

Mage's sister survived the riots. Most in the asylum did, safe as they were. They were moved to Stone Hall, where they slowly integrated with the rest of society, and forgot the nightmare of the Ghoul Occupation. Mage's Sister joined the Scholar Nitor and gave her brother merry hell over his endless paramours, and delighted in blackmailing him to keep her mouth shut about how intimate they had been in their youth. She married a rich Cups boy, and their kids are now conclave brats and have NO interest in anything to do with the Dawnchasers.

The vampire girl was cured, and spent the rest of her time helping Cups in the New Citadel reclamation.

Most the members of those who followed you on the 'Stone Hall Trail' adapted to their lives in Stone Hall and lived rather simple lives. They entertain their grandchildren with tales of how they travelled with the Paladin Serpent, and lie.

Witney Widdershins is the exception. He was rather old, but he was one of the people on the boat to the Eastern Continent, to try and settle the Splinter Coast, as it was called. "Place is boring." were said to be his last words.

Coral Gate was resettled, rebuilt, and is now a thriving coast down, and one of the few places with buildings that are underwater. Jessi's rose bush now completely covers the tree and is a tourist photo spot.

First Wood and the Fey Court had more troubles as the days went on. It was the same story, elves felt that the UFK and their integration ways were destroying elven traditions. There was even more than a few revenge attacks on Julian Graves for his past crimes.

As a result, Queen Mab tightened her security and tried to keep the upstarts in line, but eventually gave up on a peaceful settlement. She drew a line in the bark, it was clear that the UFK and their strength, especially with all those freed from Citadel, were the future. Keep with the time, or shackle yourselves to the past and die. She even let Julian into the throne-banquet room and sat beside him. The glove was thrown, and unlike before, she wouldn't turn a blind eye to terrorism.

Her reign was very very troubled and bloody. Three times there were coup attempts. However, First Wood is now part of the UFK, and Mab's children still sit upon the throne. (She CLAIMS it was a spiritual birth by the soul of Dagda, but you KNOW that Mage was with you, helping the Birds nine months prior nowhere near First Wood...although Julian was.)

Still Elven Extremists are a present concern, even though the values they spout are NOTHING like original elven tales.

Old One is still alive. Bastard still says he's planning on waiting out His Light for when HE takes physical form. Until then he has read EVERY book he can on His Light to 'study his enemy'...and is now considered to be one of the foremost religious scholars on the planet.

The souls in his horde have long been freed. 'They lost their luster' Old One says as he looks over his horde of collected texts on the Teachings, as well as the original Iron Books, and their translations. (The Lighthouse keeps a full translation of all the Iron Books' information and copies are widespread.) His horde is now a very impressive library.

A library that the Dragon Servants now curate. They are professional and courteous and chop off the hands of anyone who DARE steals one of Old One's treasures...and if you spill things on them, they keep a finger as a lesson.

The harpies slowed their birth rate, and were able to mingle with the populous of Bronze Peak. They're a common race now. Although the humanization has slightly edged their features, before Nakai's treatment could begin. No harpies have beaks anymore, which they view as a shame, and when one is born with one it's considered a sign that the child will be of great importance...so naturally they force you to see the screeching brat.

Nakai and Ava lived quite well for many years. Nakai developed a treatment for Sun's daughter as well as a treatment for the humanization effect. It came a little late for some races' features. But there's no threat of races being bred out of existence.

Nakai spent most of her life in her lab working, while Ava spent most of her life relaxing and serving Nakai meals when the scientist remembered to eat.

At the end of her life, Nakai converted her features back to that of a Crafter, along with Ava, and they returned to their homeland, as was their tradition. The last crafters were buried with dignity by the orcs and their gravesite is in a park.

There's been so many Robin Goodfellows over the years, you've lost count. The Lysander family name however doesn't hold them anymore. But they did for many many versions. The rhyming Robin was a huge help in the Open Sky campaign...you're pretty sure that it's now a capital crime in the Empire to pun or rhyme without authorization from the Emperor.

Robin Goodfellow has actually become a mythic figure again. An immortal thief, and champion of virtues. The Shadow Paladin, as it were.

Bronze Peak is once more a big tourist draw, and once more it's thanks to Sandover. However, it's not a whorehouse, but a Casino. That's not to say that whorehouses have STOPPED. But as they say, 'What happens in the Mountain, stays in the Mountain' and 'It's the one place where His Light can't see you.' You're pretty sure that there's an organized, multi-species crime ring forming inside that damn rock, but they're smart enough to keep their heads down when the Paladins roll in.

Jeremy Sandover served the town well and saw it become a different den of vice than it had been. He passed away with his wife and children at his side. Loved.

The Dwarf Siblings didn't live as peacefully, mostly they spent it bickering with each other. Still, they ruled the town well and passed away in bed. Sadly alone, but peacefully.

Tallow pulled his head out of that blue smoke womb he almost crawled back into, and was Bronze Peak's Mayor for a while. He was decent. History has recorded worse, and better than he. Tallow gracefully retired at 80, and spent his remaining days in a lovely Blue Smoke haze, dictating his time with Liam and Ssen Patrick.

Casino bronze peak sounds great. I'm glad the criminals know to just stay out of the way when we're in town, much better for everyone. Glad tallow and the dwarves made it work, sad the dwarves didn't find some fancy partners.

And tallow briefly emerged from his blue smoke haze to be mayor, and then returned to it feeling much better about himself. Progress.

Right, sorry Aya...my bad. THIS is what happened to Ava/Lilly.

She now has a franchise of hair salons across the UFK and in the LOS too. Lightbringer Style is the biggest player in the fashion world.

Adahn trained and ruled the Arma Nitor well and strictly for years. He was first in the fray at the battle of Purple Sands to push out the Empire and helped the LOS gain a foothold in the southern colony.

The Last Lightbringers did not get back together, but remained close friends. Ava married a few times, Adahn once. Their children keep up their parent's duties in Fashion and Military respectively. Ava is buried in the graveyard next to her husband.

Adahn is entombed with the other Last Paladins, his epitaph reads 'HERE LIES THE LAST LIGHTBRINGER. TOO GREAT TO SACRIFICE.' which was King Itzak's idea.

Barney Pits' picture is on the seal of Pits Manufacturing. One of the UFK's premier industrial companies. He didn't marry Lea, but they were together for many years.

Ambrose passed away a decade after the Liberation of Citadel. Ssen was by his side, he could not have been more content with his work. He is buried with his Caligo Clarus medallion in the tomb of the Last Paladins.

Gregory's children are still keepers of the Lighthouse as well as helping run the Arma Nitor and the Scholar Nitor (he had a big family when he found his wife...a refugee from the Empire.) He was a crabby old man to the end, but happy.

Shame that the order was more adahn's than ours. A good thing he ran it well, though.
And Ava's hair salons are just great. I bet we use them regularly.
I'm glad our other friends stayed our friends. We were even able to be at one of their sides when they died. What a good archivist he was. Even if nobody but Ssen thought it was a good idea at the time.
I wonder if gregory's kids also are tailors. Greg was a damn miracle worker, made the prettiest dresses.

River's Crossing, in a strange twist of fate, suffered the fate that Peace wanted for it. It was swallowed up by a bigger city. That city in question is River's Crossing. It's not a giant metropolis like Stone Hall is, but big. Elias' family STILL runs the biggest hotel there.

Your birth place is now a national park and tourist spot, along with Father's grave.

Father Uriah saw you and Tricia married. He passed in his sleep, but the wooden town clock that he diligently wound every month is still standing and still wound properly by the caretakers.

Granny's memory problems got worse before a treatment could be found. She didn't forget who you were, or Ssai and Ssah...but the rest could be a bit tricky. Still, she remained a cantankerous pain in the ass for you, memory or no, and even taught you a little magic.

She was killed by a Phoenix Empire assassin who was pretending to be a member of the Schola Nitor, to whom she was tell her history.

You know who it was. Kingfisher's unloved daughter. She escaped back to the Empire, and the UFK spies haven't found her.

The body count on that day when you and the Dawnchasers learned of the murder was four digits high.

Itzak gave his sister a full pardon. One that you deeply deeply regretted. She disappeared on that horrible day and hasn't been found. You know she was involved.

The taunting note she left for you, that you didn't show to Isen, confirmed it.

The rest of the Newgates lived fairly well, most of them took up political positions in the New Citadel, or the rebuilt White Tree or elsewhere. Otherwise Itzak found places for them, or just places to stay.

Ssah is a star of stage and screen. Her most famous role? You. If the two of you were to slither down the street, and Ssah was wearing her red wig, they'd ask HER for Ssen Patrick's autograph. She plans to play the role, and enjoy the fame, for a long long time. You think she does you credit...but her puns need work.

Ssai, the sensible one, is the head of the Schola Nitor now. She chose to have children with a very nice lizard-hybrid boy that you like. She's had five children already, probably will have one or two more, and is looking to be a grandmother. (The issue with that one couple you solved a while ago, so no worries there.)

King Itzak served his kingdom well, and really reduced the power of the monarchy. Although the Council doesn't have full power, there's balances and such made by Ambrose and Ssai. Also Itzak said that no one could be on the council who never took a punch to the face...and that the King would be the one who did the punching.

His Queen Consort was by his side throughout his reign and bore him nine children. They all shamed the Newgate name in excellent ways.

The throne is currently held by her Majesty Queen Scheherazade III, who currently sits upon the throne with her husband.

King Itzak and Queen Tara are entombed together.

Isen the Audacious and his lover Tara, spent many MORE years of adventuring, helping the LOS, and just raising havoc whenever they could get away from being the King and Queen.

Actually...technically Isen and Tara are still alive. Stories of their adventures are still being told, their either tearing up the Splinter Coast, delving into Crafter Ruins, attacking the Empire, or even going into space. They're always together, and always more over the top than is believable.

You suspect that Isen and Tara's stories will last longer than yours. They're the immortal ones.

Okay, before I hit the last ones and go intot he Dawnchasers...am I missing anyone?

She IS directly related to the new HIS, but mer lineages, especially with pure mer, is slightly screwy. But Dana said so before she passed, so it's gospel.

Loyal Guardsman Frederick did indeed survive the riots...mostly because he was outside the wall, diligently manning his post. He got married, had children, and passed. He was never promoted, but his title and role were never taken away from him or his family...mostly because no one in White Tree remembered him, and when they did Isen ordered it to remain in perpetuity.

His children now maintain the sacred honor of keeping the toll bridge.

Julian Graves died in First Wood. There were whispers of poison and terrorists, but you know the truth. He was old, and he sat down one day, very tired, and didn't get up.

Avery died in the LOS campaign.

Balles died in an building accident that claimed him and four other lives.

Toll died in the LOS campaign.

Kincaid...well...you all SAY that he died in the LOS campaign, but you all KNOW that he died from a STD. But it was during the campaign, so there you go.

Lea remained by your side, and served as your moral center for years. She never forgot what it was like to be a God for those few moments, or what it meant to give it up. She wrote it all down, and her 'Serpent Teachings' are considered to be one of the more groundbreaking modern religious texts. No Lightkeeper Priest doesn't know her name.

The reason Barney didn't get to have a relationship with Lea was because Lea never made it back from the LOS campaign. She won the battle, but her wounds were severe and her age and wrecked body caught up to her. She passed with you all by her side. She told you not to cry until she was gone. Before she passed, you gave her the rank of High Paladin, which she accepted.

Her statue is of her bandaged body, but her face is shown...with the disfiguring marks. Comics and art have...altered it so that her scars and marks aren't as bad as they were. Not Citadel bad but still...you wonder if she'll still be shown as ugly in another Age or two.

Beacon you gave to the Schola Arma after it was clear that you wouldn't be seeing too much heavy combat for long periods of years. It felt like a shame to deny the Old Man his fun. You're not sure where it is, but you know that it is being wielded by someone who follow His Light, because Beacon wouldn't work for anyone else.

Persephone and Marietta made good on their plan. The swap into Marietta's body after Peri's was spent (especially after the bloody LOS campaign) was seamless, and before long it was as if nothing had changed. Adventures were still had, cracks were give, and Mari/Peri did have a lively love life with multiple partners, multiple species, and other multiples that you were told were very private. The mischief they got into is epic, and the Empire is still missing many national treasures that they'll NEVER get back thanks to her. Although she never DID mean to break that last vase.

The Legion plan...well...it worked...but not great. I mean, you liked Jessica, she was fun, and a good fit for the group...but...well...Jessica/Peri/Mari wasn't the same. And Rachel/Jessica/Peri/Mari was even less so. Also, Peri and Mari found themselves less 'there' and more 'along for the ride' as the people were added.

So, when it got 'too crowded' Persephone, and Marietta released themselves into soul gems, and then has 'Sensa' (The name for the being that they were. A form of Census.) release them. You were there for the ritual. It was very sweet and they told you not to cry until they were gone.

Mage married Sophie. They had four kids. Sophie had an amazingly happy life. (The LOS time notwithstanding.)

Mage then outlived Sophie. Natural causes. Unofficially, you know that he and Mab, who was also grey then, shacked up for a while.

Mage outlived her too.

Mage outlived his children, but not his grandchildren.

Now, this is not a sad story. (Well the LOS part is brutal, but that was the worst war on record.) This is a happy story of a man who loved his loved ones, mourned them, lived, and lived well. His research into magic, electricity, and genetics will live on. He has his picture in almost every Conclave building. He appeared on children's programs that explained the basics of Science, Magic, and how they all work together.

He died one day going to get his morning coffee. His great-grandchild found him on the floor.

Yeah, the western concept has gotten wrecked with these epilogues.
But it could be set in a region that's still being settled or resettled. The South, perhaps, with some adventures up north.
It could be about folk who are sick of the easy life in the UFK and crave the adventure that the old days offered. Little do they realize they're just bringing civilization along with them.

Oh god...

I-I wasn't ready for this
>>
>>27081379
Legacy will have you as unrelated to the Patricks.
>>
>>27081182
Tricia, your wife, your love, looked wonderful in that wedding dress...didn't compare to the absurdly long trail on yours...but still.

You were partners in arms for ages. You tried to adopt once. There was a baby girl after the LOS campaign but...it didn't end well. Drugs and a bad decision. You tried. Tricia tried. Everyone did, but...well...

You have very very dark suspicions about how the Little One back on the horse. Later, thanks to Mage and DNA testing they were confirmed. You couldn't tell Tricia though. She would fall to pieces. But you swore that Kingfisher's family, and that fucking traitorous whore would know pain that would surpass any you've give before.

But life, and other things happened, most importantly Tricia kept you away from revenge, and more towards living. She kept you sane.

You haven't been able to follow up on that revenge promise. Kingfisher's kin and that bitch are probably long dead now...you get the feeling that they aren't though. People that miserable tend to survive...but stay miserable.
>>
>>27081404
But enough of sad things. Mage said that it was possible that you could have Tricia's child. This was right before he passed...and he was right!

Your lives focused around your child from then on. She grew up strong, happy, and healthy. Red hair, and a fondness for honey, her belly's striped like a wasp. She has a good tongue for puns, and she can listen to insects...but not command them.

She is your and Tricia's life. You wouldn't trade it for anything.

Tricia's gone now. She went to bed in your mass of coils (35 feet long), and when you woke up...she was gone. A mass of wasps and moths, but no cliche butterflies, had left the room...and taken her with it.

And you know that you'll be next. You're tired, and sleepy a lot. But it's warm on the rock, and your Dragonfly is here. You smile at her, and say something that you know your father would have smiled and rolled his eyes at.

And then there's Dusk, Citadel who looks older, but still young, at his side. Behind them are Lea, Peri, Mari, Mage, and Tricia. Of course they waited for you.

Your Journey begins.

'Dragonfly' wiped her eyes as she sat in the empty house. Mother and Momma had been gone for a month. The funeral was over, people had paid there respect, and the country mourned their hero. Now they moved on.

The house was filled with her scent, Momma's too, along with Uncle Mage's and the others.

She needed to clear her head. The Nitor was gearing up for something, right? Or there was the bounty board...plus there was always money for a lamia to make getting furs.

A little time away from home would be good for her, stretch her tail and shake out her mind.

Yeah...that's just what she needed. She opened the door to her house, and stepped out into the warm light.

Across the sea, an oracle for the Phoenix Empire shrieks in terror and collapses.

Dragonfly dual wields shields clearly

I was hoping for a pistol in there somewhere. Maybe a scimitar too, since it's conan-tier traditional for snakemen.

>New Vegas.
Hah. No, however the flow of ideas is returning. Expect to start off on the southern continent gents.
