Predator Quest: Episode 54

You are Three-Claw, a Yautja hunter of the Cloud Viper clan. You have been tasked by your clan Matriarch to investigate breaches of forbidden knowledge by clan Weyland on the planet Fey'lenn, or Pandora, as it is known in the human tongue. Your investigations have ultimately led you to Earth - where you will strike out at Weyland-Yutani's headquarters.

You rush into the research chamber and shut the door. You stash the human scientist's unconscious form behind a cabinet, out of sight. You quickly look around to make sure no one's looking, and you turn your attention to the prototype plasma cannon in the middle of the room.

Upon closer inspection, the reactor, sitting in the corner and providing the power, is definitely of Yautja origin. The cannon itself, on the other hand, seems to be constructed from primitive human technology.

To your surprise, however, it seems to be functional.

Do you:

A. Quietly destroy the reactor with your combi-stick.
B. Set the prototype cannon to fire at its own reactor.
C. Rig the reactor to overload the next time it's activated.

You extend your combi-stick and carefully whittle the reactor to pieces. As a final guarantee of its destruction, you fire a tight burst of needles into its shielded core, releasing a trickle of corrosive coolant which washes over the sensitive electronics and dissolves them into paste.

Suddenly, you hear footsteps approaching from the corridor outside. You quickly raise your head and peer through the glass. You see two synthetics approaching you. You recognize them as two of the four synthetics you tampered with.

Do you:

A. Keep your head down and hope they pass.
B. Pre-emptively strike out and take them down silently. (DC: Medium)

They try a second time.

"Doctor, your presence is required in the testing chamber."

"Doctor, the experiment begins in ten minutes." Receiving no reply, the synthetics turn and head back out.

You wait until their footsteps pass.

>OP, for B, don't you mean: "Head to the chamber containing the prototype plasma casters."? I thought last thread we entered the room with the plasma cannon.

Ah, right, my mistake. Good catch.

A. Take some time to search the room for anything useful.
B. Head to the chamber containing the prototype plasma casters.
C. Head to the chamber containing the prototype smartgun.

You gesture your teammates to search the room for something useful.

After several minutes of scanning through the various pieces of furniture and personal computers, you find a small access card on the scientist's unconscious body and a set of data slates containing a large variety of research data.

You pocket those for study later.

Do you:

B. Head to the chamber containing the prototype smartgun.
C. Leave the labs.

You motion your team to follow you as you exit the current chamber. You suddenly hear the whirring of a hover drone. You press your body against the wall as it passes you.

Security is becoming tighter.

You quickly cross the corridor and lay low outside of the plasma caster chamber. You peer inside. The room seems to be empty.

The door is locked. The lock has a slot on it which takes a keycard.

Do you:

A. Use the keycard you found on the scientist to open the door.

The door slides open. Moments after you enter, the ceiling opens and a camera descends. A voice booms over the intercom. "Doctor Grey? What are you doing here? You're needed in the testing chambers."

Do you:

A. Attempt to synthesize a human audio recording, telling him you'll be there shortly.
B. Stay silent, and out of sight of the camera.

You reconstruct a 3d hologram of the doctor and show him entering the room. He waves at the camera.

"Good. Let me remind you, doctor, that this experiment is of paramount importance, so finish whatever it is you're doing now, and join us."

With that, the camera once again rises into the ceiling. You disengage the hologram, relieved.

You glance around. Several personal plasma-casters are mounted on a series of test racks around the room. You begin to examine them. Most are extremely crude replicas in various states of functionality - but one of them is clearly of Yautja design.

Do you:

You make your way to the bio labs, and notice the technicians and their cargo up ahead. You sneak by as they unload.
