Apacci stares at you challengingly and you give her a nod before she breathes out, the tension leaving her and she walks out. Neliel waits at the door for your father to arrive and pulls him aside for a moment talking quietly. Eventually, he nods, looking serious and walks in, closing the door behind him.

“Ichigo, you wanted to talk?”

You nod.

>[ ]Tell him everything, of what you know and suspect

You spend time talking with your father- of what you’ve seen and what you suspect. When you cover what happened in your inner world and of the dreams you’ve had with Aizen in them, your father sits down. You managed to keep your suspicions about Yoruichi to yourself, just to be safe.

He gives you a weary look, resting his hands in his face. “Ichigo… what is it you think you should do? Even if you trust it, Kyoto is a big place. You could spend days there trying to find this specific shrine, if it even exists. I don’t doubt these visions happened, but do you trust them?”

true, but if we take one of them, it'd have to be Soi. Kenny would wind up murdering whatever we need to find. Even if its the Soul King or an immaterial concept

But, hes probably still in /SS/ by order of old man

>>
>>26968417
he's with us.
Him and Soi Fong came through the portal when we buggered out, according to Hime
>>
Forgot my name.

>>26968417
Actually, he and Soi Fon (maybe even Toshiro? no clue if he's alive) are stuck here on earth with us. The Precipice World is fucked as Memories of Nobody is happening right now on top of Zanpakuto Rebellion. Luckily both are operating on different time scales, as one is a season worth of happenings, the other is like 2 or 3 days.

>>
>>26968546
No way we're bringing Kenny. He's just too violence-prone to bring when we don't know if we'll actually need anything murdered or not.
>>
>>26968546
Unlikely that'll be what happens, although "reforge your future" is an interesting phrase.
In any case we need a strong body guard and Kenny fits the bill... but if it's a spiritual quest? Well then Chad's and Ishida are the only ones that make sense, and we can't have the president and vice president on the same plane so to speak; so it leaves Kenny and Chad.
Keep in ming Chizuru still has some plotrock in her and if things happen, there's no way we could protect her or she would be able to hold her own against one of the defectees'[/spoiler

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it though

"Trust?
Maybe, maybe not. But I've been through too much to ignore warnings in my head, and I KNOW this last burst of strength won't last me much longer- I'm not getting any better, so anything that could fix this..I want to take. I can't have gone through everything just to drop dead when I've got so many people who care about me, who would be upset if something happened to me.

So I want to go, if only because there's nothing else I can think of that would fix this."

And god damnit, I now want to draw a series of 4koma about Yoruichi and Gin taking the piss out of Aizen at every opportunity, thanks to the last thread.
>>
>>26968605
Wait, given that Kyoto is a major city, wouldn't there be a Shinigami on-station on a permanent basis?
Couldn't we simply get in touch with them when we arrive by bullet train and ask them about any shrines with unusual properties?

"Well that depends, am I getting better at all? Not even in a recovering my powers sense, but more just a 'being able to walk unaided' way.

I don't understand why I need to go to Kyoto, or why Aizen is still in my head when I thought that his phantom died when that symbolic fire went out. And I'm betting I won't like the answer, if there is one.

But even if the path ahead of me seems confusing and stupid, I don't think it's alright for me to just lay here staying still."
>>
>>26968779
Haha treachery 2x-combo.

Only worse because this time I'm pretty sure Yoruichi beat up Soi Fon first.
>>
>>26968750
Eh, I thought we were on a timer here, what with the not getting better at all and our death very much possible.
>>
>>26968804
Well that depends if that's the case, or if Aizen is being melodramatic.

>>26968802
Honestly, I think this will provide Soi Fon with some closure once she processes it fully.

This second betrayal basically eliminates any doubts (to her anyway) that Yoruichi is in fact a scumbag traitor, so she doesn't need to hold on to a vain hope that she might come back some day.

And then Yoruichi reveals it was all an elaborate ruse, thus ripping open all those emotional scars in such a way that makes Soi Fon's canon emotional breakdown look like sunshine and roses.
>>
So step One
Clarify if we actually are dying.

Step Two
Sigh and say it can't be helped
>>
>>26968923
I don't know, it could be that Soi Fon just doesn't give a fuck what Yoruichi's motives were, and is just done with her.

>[ ]No, I don’t but I don’t have a choice in the matter

You give him a wry grin. “No, I don’t, not really. But…”

You look down at your hands and though there’s strength in them right now, you know it won’t last. “…I’m not getting better, am I?”

You father look away. “No, not really. You’re worse off now then you were a week ago… Urahara didn’t expect you to wake.”

You grit your teeth before you feel your father’s hand on your shoulder. “You said that you could bring along only one person, right? Who did you think about bringing? I’d recommend someone who can either protect you or patch you up if you’d need it, personally, but it is your decision.”

You look down and think about it.

Who would you take with you?

I hate to say it, but based on those criteria, Nel is both.

But she's also not Chad.

But she isn't Chad.

Oh god the choices.

Fuck it, I say Nel. Cold hard logic up in here.

Chad or Nel
We should leave a letter for Ishida outlining all of our suspicions, including Yoruichi. Giin possibly being dubious, HogeyQ being the beast in Aizen's skin. And thanking him for Saving Momo.

If Soi-Fong is stable enough; I vote her. She's strong, patient, and knows healing Keido. She's also very observant and analytical. Since Yoruichi is a turncoat, she's the best all-in-one package we have next to Nel; and Nels a former agent of Aizen. I know it might be paranoid, but I can't help for feel that if we take her along, Aizen will know about this trip and step in immediately. So again, Soi-Fong.

I forgot about the "MEDIC" part about bringing a partner.

Hime is a better healer, but Momo has versatility.
Chad is a bro, though, and we need more Social Links with him.
Nel has her spit, but does it beat out Momo's kido?

Voting Momo, for versatility.
>>
>>26969247
Do we really know her well enough?
>>
>>26969008
Chad because loyalty and he can literally support us.
>>
>>26969008

>>
>>26969273
That's a good point.

He can physically carry us if we get too weak.

Ya, leaving him, Hime, and Momo notes is a good id-
>including Yoruichi

NO

>>26969269
More importantly do we know she won't turn us over to Yoruichi like a sobbing child trying to earn the respect and love of an estranged parent?
>>
>>26969008
best choices for this in order
>Soi Fong (60/100 kido is not amazing for a captain, but its still good enough to heal one human, and she is hella fast so we can cover ground faster)
>Nel (Got the healing puke which is nice, and one of the best fighters we have)
>Chad (ultimate bro)
>Bel (Great fighter, but no healing)
>Orihime (Great healing, subpar fighter)
>>
>>26969008
Chad or Rukia.
Soi Fon has no reason to help us.
>>
>>26969301
They're pretty much all capable of carrying Ichigo.
>>
Guys Soi Fon is a bad choice because Yoruichi.

That gives her a fairly crippling weakness as of now.
>>
>>26969008
Nel
>>
>>26969008
Eh, I'm not sure if we really can be healed, if Orihime and Neliel have been unable to manage it.

And our heaviest hitters have more important people to protect.
>>
>>26969130
>>26969143
She DID hint that she had something...else she could do to help us, but she was nervous about it.

the curiosity's been eating me ever since.

But Chad.

Shit.

>>26969191
Yeah, see.

This is how I'm leaning, too.

Plus, she's already becoming a confidante of sorts.

>>26969247
Look, she's one of my favorite captains, but the manga's never gone beyond mentor-worship that was instilled very early in childhood.
No blushing aside from when she cried (which seems natural given the nature of the moment), no constant thinking of the sexy brown one, no stalking- that's all Perriot's scriptwriters, not KUBO.

>>26969316
...Rukia has no real reason to help us, either. She's not in BRO or Love Interest territory unlike the others.
>>
Guys, Chad can't heal us. He doesn't know first aid or any kind of ghost magic.
He's got big strong hands, but he's not quite the right fit here.

We need someone with healing abilities/ capacity and a strong fighting ability
That leaves Soi-Fong, Nel, and Urahara

I doubt Soi-Fong and Urahara are in any shape to help us right now with their own baggage; Soi-Fong most likely dehydrated from crying, and Urahara piss drunk 24/7

That leaves Nel, which Aizen may still have a way of monitoring and if he finds out that we're alive and screwing around, it'll really piss him off.

So with our A-Team gone, our B team is our two girlfriends.
Momo has healing, but she hesitates a lot in combat so she's out.
Orihime is all that's left then. She can patch us up, meshes well with us in a fight, and can hold her own against non-captain opponents.
>>
>>26969008
Take Nel.
>>26969384
>Eh, I'm not sure if we really can be healed, if Orihime and Neliel have been unable to manage it.
I'm 90% it's referring to any new injuries gotten.
>>
>>26969008
Chad for trust and raw strength or Rukia for kido and shunpo
>>
>>26969008
Sounds like the decision's already been made for us.
>>
>>26969389
She was offering to make out with us, HARD like tongue down throat hard
>>
>>26969309
>"So we can cover ground faster"
Now THAT'S a good reason. She's also finely tuned to spiritual pressure so we should be able to find that shrine easy enough maybe.
yfw she carries us piggy back style at breakneck speeds
>>
>>26969389

>>

>>
If we don't go chad, we ought to go Nel.
>>
>>26969247
...You still think Neliel is a traitor?
>>
>>26969409
>That leaves Nel, which Aizen may still have a way of monitoring and if he finds out that we're alive and screwing around, it'll really piss him off.
Fairly certain this was the WHOLE THING behind Urahara dicking us around with the whole Snake Eater thing, was to make sure there was NO WAY Aizen could discover anything about Urahara.

>>26969446
>>26969475
I had suspicions, but I want to see it with my own eyes.
>>
>>26969008

>>
>>26969555

Are we really going to choose someone who is essentially a stranger, just because she might offer the most useful powerset?

That just feels way too cold.
>>
>>26969555
People are choosing things logically, which this Ichigo tries to do, especially when his life is in danger.
>>
>>26969522
No; I think Aizen might be monitoring her without her knowledge.
>>
>>26969623
But then again, it was our dad who brought up "fuck friendship" so maybe being pragmatic is the right choice.
>>
>>26969669
Um... WHAT?

That isn't what he said, at all.

We've got plenty of friends who can either protect or heal us, and some who can do both. Those are the only two criteria he suggested.
>>
>>26969669
"Son it's not one of your weird american saturday morning cartoons. Friendship doesn't fix everything. Sometimes you need to be practical."

>>26969623
True true; but we also need to be prepareda. Personally I want to take Orihime, but no one else seems to want to.
Step it up Momo
>>
I guess it wouldn't be Bleach Quest if we thought every option could irrevocably fuck us over thus leading to paralyzed indecision.

Just like old times.
>>
>>26969733
Eh, I kind of feel like Orihime and Momo need to look after each other.
>>
>>26969733
Momo needs Hime right now, Ishida needs to lead the team, Tres and Halibel are inseperable, so that leaves human friends, of which Chads the only one in decent condition, or Nel, who might trip of HOLLOW HOLLOW HOLLOW alarms. Wheras Soi and Kenny and Kuukaku and the like might set off SHINIGAMI alarms.

Alright.

...To be honest I'd prefer Rukia to Soi Fong.

Just because her social link with Ichigo has enormous potential that we have yet to tap into.
>>
>>26969555
The whole with Chad is that he's our bro, and we can ALWAYS rely on him. Ichigo asked him to use his fists for him, and that he'd use his fists in Chad's name.
Neliel, however, can help us when we're hurt, and has been incredibly supportive this whole time, with almost no benefit of her own, aside from not dying in Aizen's Regime.

>>
>>26969866
>>26969853
As a Rukiafag; we don't know if she's with us since it was never clarified if she or our ghost family went through too; and we also have no idea what her capabilities are. She's more or less a stranger passing on the street; where Soi-Fong is an action movie cop we saw in action.

Isn't the only action we saw her failing to stop her own tiny sword until we helped her out?

>>26969927
Try punching a sentient yellowjacket that's as fast as you are. Not too easy. Only reason we caught her was due to surprise.

I'm still a little surprised that worked, because I thought Blut worked under the skin, while shunko is over it.
>>
>>26969927
To be fair we also got dismembered by OMZ, and only won through Hollow Hax and him essentially giving us the win.

Having trouble when your sword(s) suddenly decide to manifest and run around doing random shit that usually involves trying to kill you is a perfectly understandable situation to have trouble with for anyone.
>>
>>26969992
If it's like that, my vote goes to The Boss.
>>
>>26970017
True.

...I think we would have done better if Zangetsu fought alongside us from the start, and didn't irritate the Man in Black just enough for him to enter his Final Form.

No so much UNDER it, as it's most POWERFUL under it, from what I can see. The top layers of skin are still difficult to penetrate, but as they get further down, I believe it's more and more difficult to cut.

So, since Suzumebachi is nowhere NEAR as powerful as Ywach's sword, cutting past the first layer seems like it'd be rather difficult.
>>
>Chad
>Neliel
>Soi Fong

You think about your top three options. The first is Soi Fong, Captain fo the Second Division. She’s a captain and incredibly fast. That alone is helpful, but you don’t really know her all that well. Not to mention you haven’t seen her since you woke up. To be fair, you haven’t seen a LOT of people since you woke up. Still she’d probably have useful abilities, if you could convince her to come with you. You also don’t know where she’s at, so you’d have to ask to find her.

Neliel’s the former Third Espada of Aizen’s Espada. She’s a powerful close quarters combatant who is able to defend herself in a gigai. She’s a pacifist who dislikes fighting, but she will if she has to. She also has some sort of healing ability too. You’ve connected with her on some level, but you still haven’t gotten to know her all that well, though. A combatant and medic, she’d be helpful to have along, if she agrees to come.

Yatutora Sado, Chad, is an old friend of yours. For a human, he’s incredibly strong. You’ve been busy for a while so you’ve distanced some from your previous friendship, but he’s always had your back. However, you don’t know how strong he is. He’d be great company, and he’s likely to agree to go, but you’ve yet to talk with him since the Aizen fallout, too. You’d have to find out where he’s at to ask him.

You sit there considering the three in your head.

Dismiss Soi Fong from the running, I'm pretty sure it's down to Neliel and Chad.

It seems like it represents whether we'll go with our shiny new friends, or not forget about our old ones, even if they're not as immediately useful.

I know we have to keep moving forward, but does that mean we need to leave everyone behind, or can we lead the way for those who matter to us, so they can progress as well.

Sudden thought

Hime explaining the Arancar to Momo...and here and in Canon Hime is always hyper perceptive of how other women feel about Kurosaki.

Hime telling Momo how we changed the world of Harribel & the Tres. Brought friendship to Lily & Starkk, and how we 'saved' Neliel.

How we opened her eyes to the truth of the man she believed her lord and savior... How we saved her from her loyalty to Aizen... With the story of what he had done to Momo herself.

These are the kind of interactions we have missed by being unconscious.

Why would we need everyone to drop what they're doing (preparing for the war with Aizen) just to see off a dying friend? Just have Mizuiro do a brief conference call to explain things to everyone, talk with Apacci personally on the trip to the train station and get Mizuiro to summon Hime and Momo if the pair aren't busy so we can say goodbye in person. If those two are busy (likely), write them notes on the way to the station to be delivered in our absence.

I don't think it's being portrayed so much as a bad choice as a potentially risky one. Also, I will say this once more:

I will not make a situation unwinnable, but if you make subpar choices, it will effect how things go, especially the difficulty.

Fuck it, I'm not posting with Monobear ro the llama anymore, it isn't any fun anymore.
>>
>>26971411
Not my expectation. Also, we can't risk falling asleep if we don't take a healer given that we probably won't wake up again.

Chad is spiritually sensitive enough to find the temple on his own if we're unconscious, right?
>>
>>26971445

THIS RIGHT HERE is the most important post of the night; We might not know in character, but Nel looks like a more attractive option now if Chad isn't down.
>>
Call chad. Ask dad about Kyoto and mom, talk to Apacci & the others, Miz conference call with everyone but Hime & Momo explaining our intent. Tell Hime and Momo our intent in person, and say that one word to them about how we feel. Ask them to take care of one another while we are gone. We'll be back soon

I'm good with whatever man. Just along for the ride and to talk about Fast Wheel Rocket Chair Murderbot Kurosaki.

Lets just rocket-wheel our way over to Chad's house and see if he's up for a vision quest.
>>
>>26971454
Yeah, some people take to it with too much reaction or "Shadowruns"
>>
>>26971454
So it definitely was a subpar choice.

And I really don't think we need additional difficulty.

Also the reason why you saying you won't make things unwinnable doesn't really comfort anyone is because most of us didn't doubt that.

It's just that we fear that you'll make the victory condition be standing on our friends broken corpses.

We'd still win, it just wouldn't really feel like it.
>>
>>26971488
The problem is that Chad is automatically in, 'cuz he's our Bro and always has our back. So we aren't taking a healer, get over the fact that this is hard mode now.

>Call chad.

You lean over and pick up your phone, dialing Chad’s number. After a few rings it picks up. “Hello?”

“Hey, Chad, It’s Ichigo, can you come over here? I need to talk with you.”

There’s a few moments of silence, sounds like Chad might be talking with someone. “Sure, Ichigo. Be right over.”

He hangs up as you turn to your father. “Was mom’s family originally from Kyoto?”

Isshin looks contemplative before shrugging. “I don’t know, you’d have to ask Ryuken, but he’s busy most days at the hospital. That and he doesn’t want anything to do with that side of things anymore.”

Ryuken? Ishida’s dad maybe? You shake your head before Isshin hands you something, it’s a number of large bills. “That should cover your hotel and train costs in Kyoto, Ichigo. I have to get back to work. Good luck.”

He waves as he opens and shuts the door behind him, leaving you alone.

This makes some logical assumptions on my part...assuming no Nel, Bel, or Starkk then Barragan is probably Primera, Ulquirorra is segunda, Eye patch is probably tres, Grimmjaw is probably 4, and Luppi is the one who replaces Cirucci as 5th...I'm probably wrong, but who cares, joking omake.

>>26953831

>Cirucci Sanderwicci, newly demoted to the ranks of the Privaron Espada as #105 stalked her way to her new chambers as her former Fraccions began dismantling the contents of her Tower...her wondrous and beautiful tower full of all the wonderful artifacts she had collected from the world of the living since the time she was just a normal hollow. She had loved becoming an Arrancar, and being promoted to the Espada...it was a vindication of all her suffering amid the desert of endless night to be recognized among the strongest...and this fall from grace hurt; but not as much as being replaced by that condescending Luppi.

>Gritting her teeth and punching the spectral marble of the wall, she let out a frustrating shriek. Had it all been a waste...all her carefully picked and fitted Fraccion would just be other Numerous now...and she would never get the two new girls, Loly and Melony, under her banner...and they were just perfect for her purposes too.
>Breathing deeply, she straightened her hem and adjusted herself, her unbecoming display having off set the armored hoops beneath her skirt. She resumed walking toward her new quarters, where her former underlings were moving her copious amounts of human clothing and accessories for storage. Ahead of her were two of Lord Aizen's direct underlings, she felt her stomach drop, they were her least favorite.
>Ichimaru Gin, the smiling Smiling Shinigami, always sent shivers down her spine...she could never relax around him...but the new one was worse.
>This audacious woman, clad in a terribly unfashionable and immodest blending of black and white walked alongside the smiling bastard-

> -with a confident smile and swagger that dared, DARED, Cirucci to loathe her. She took the challenge seriously, she hated this Yoruichi woman with all her passion.
>"Yo! Sanderwicci! Sorry to hear about the demotion," began the dark skinned woman, her golden eyes dancing with mirth.
>"Yeah, it'll be sad to see you leave the table. Aizen has so little appreciation to what you brought to the table...but oh well. We took a little trip to the living world and got you a small present as consolation" Gin's eyes cracked open, slightly and subtlety. Cirucci wondered if anyone not as supernaturally perceptive as herself would notice this tick...it brought her terror. She could not speak.
>From...somewhere?...the Shihoin woman drew a package and held it forward. A simple wide and thin white cardboard box. It baffled the Privaron Espada from her terror to think of where THAT woman had kept something this size hidden. She was proud...but she gritted her teeth to accept.
>"Thank you both for your consideration," she calmly smiled and took the package. Separating the top of the clothing box she idly wondered what THESE two would think to get her from the world of the living. Perhaps the day might not be a total waste after all.
>Inside was a cute and fluffy strawberry patterned short puffy jacket and matching umbrella. Thinking quickly, Cirucci realized she could use this in a few outfits she had been planning before being ousted from her position. Inspecting the garment and accessory with a practiced eye, she saw something that made her smile fall for a moment and a vein to twitch upon her forehead

>THEY knew...they had to know what they had given her. It made her boil, but she reigned it in and glanced up. They became silhouettes in her vision save for their smiles. Their knowing and hateful smiles. They knew. They knew. Theyknewtheyknewtheyknewtheyknewtheyknew what they had done. What they had given her. These things...these admittedly cute things...they were off brand.
>One of the first things she learned from the girl she stalked and eventually consumed when she was still but a fledgling Hollow, one of the cardinal pillars of her personal rules for Lolita Fashion...don't use off brands. It churned her stomach, and probably the stomachs of all the sentient creatures long melded, sleeping, within her soul as a former Adjuchas.
>These two were mocking her...she could feel it in their reitsu, she could see it in their smiles. Forcing one of her own to take her face...she saw an opportunity for REVENGE...and she would be damned if she did not pounce upon it.
>"How generous of both of you for this. Oh, Yoruichi-chan, you simply must accompany me to my new quarters. I am certain my former Fraccions would just DIE for the chance to fit you for an outfit." her heart leaped in joy as the woman's golden eyes widened in shock, almost imperceptively, as the mocking smile faltered, ever so slightly.
>Gin's eyes slid closed again, but his smile did not waiver...which was fine with Cirucci, he would get his...in time. "My My, Youruichi-san...for Sanderwicci to make such an offer to you is a great honor; you really shouldn't turn it down. Especially after Aizen said you should get to know more of your new colleagues." and with a flash step he was gone before the dark skinned woman could turn to face him and probably yell.
>Yoruichi's eye twitched. This prank had backfired, and that bastard Gin had left her in an awkward situation...but you know what...she wasn't one to back down. She had navigated the perilous pitfalls of Noble life in the Soul Society.
(3/4)

>"Of course, Yoruichi-CHAN," Cirucci smiled with challenging eyes that laughed at the suffering she would bestow upon this high and mighty Shinigami.
>The two continued down the corridor in silent tension, leaving a thick an heavy miasma of hostility in their wake.
>Three hours later, however, Cirucci Sanderwicci had to admit there was something about the Shihoin woman that looked absolutely adorable while wearing cat ears.

>[ ]Call in the Arrancar

You call in the Arrancar, and a few moments later they walk in. Appaci is giving you a nervous look and you have them sit down as you explain a decent amount of things to them, keeping Aizen as your spiritual guide out of it for Neliel’s sake. Eventually you explain to them about how you have to go to Kyoto and that you can take only one person with you.

Apacci gives you a nod. “Naturally, it’d be Harribel or Neliel, right? They’re the best choices.” The other Tres give nods as you give them an uncomfortable look.

“I’m taking Chad.”

Apacci stares at you blankly.

“What.”

“I’m taking Chad. He’s my oldest friend and he’s got my back.”

She gives you a confused look. “But we’re all older than him and stronger. Neliel can even heal!”

You shake your head. “That might be true, but I want to reconnect with Chad. He’s my choice.” You stare at her firmly before Apacci’s eyes narrow as she marches up and pushes your chest. She does it lightly, but you feel like you’ve been hit by a bulldozer. You rub at your chest as she stares down at you before shaking her head.

She then grabs her things off of your floor, picking them up, before looking at the other Arrancar. “Let’s go.”

Slowly the other two nod and pick up their things as Harribel sit in the corner and watches you, looking unsure. Neliel sits down and reopens the book, sparing you a worried glance. Its obvious she wants to say something, but she looks away and bites her lip, clutching at her right arm and tries to resume reading her book.

There’s an uncomfortable silence in the room.

talk to them both
explain that it's not just reconnecting with Chad, but that we need them to figure out this thing with the Blanks. Bel and the Tres are an extremely powerful team and should be able to accomplish something in that vein.
As for Nel, she's one of the most powerful, and more importantly, most experienced, people here. We need her to help keep the group together while we're gone.

>I'm not perfect.

Well then we should just say we were being too sentimental and in a way, already resigning ourselves to death instead of embracing the hope of living and having new chances to rectify things.

Never called you imperfect. I am thus far perfectly satisfied with the drama that is unfolding in this story. Doing the right thing is hard...and Ichigo might be not entirely in his right mind...what with his soul being torn asunder from without and within by the shards of and the incomplete hogyoku.

I was of the mind to stick to the JOJO Bro powers until Apacci raised a valid point...we will need healing just to make it as far as we need.

We talk to Chad...tell him why we want to go with him...but of the points made.

He is one of our friends...we want his opinion on what we should do...and express our fear that going to Kyoto will much like staying as we are now...we're going to die either way...but if we go to Kyoto...

well...Death is only the beginning now, isn't it.

>>
>>26973612
Maybe this is the crux of my problem, I just don't see how we're been a particularly bad friend to Chad recently. Our life got hectic and we spent less time with him than with other people, but we made time to talk with him every chance we had, he'll we've paid less attention to Bel since recruiting her. I just don't see a reason for Chad guilt.
>>
>>26973676
nah, its not breaking the rules. if it is them what about the entire city of kyoto? will them brought?

also, mobile war council on the bullet train over
>>
>>26973575

>>
>>26973647
>not following instructions from fake Aizen
pls no, bringing more will bring too much attention
>>
>>26973545
We realize that we probably fucked up, but we don't know how to say it in a way that isn't a knife in Chad's back, and now we're just pretty miserable about the whole thing and are pretty sure Chad's standing outside the door and is only going to hear the worst of it because drama.

...Was it really necessary to draw things out this much.
>>
>>26973690
growth rate our not, she already has a lot of the skill, itll just take a little refineing

cqc isnt about super special snowflake awesomeness, its actualy the exact opposite so she should be fine
>>
>>26973711
No war councils.

Plus we don't have enough money for everyone.

And we're not going to make them spend theirs just to hang around and miss more school.

Stop being stupid.
>>
>So listen to them because you want to hear what they have to say then maybe try to explain a little of why you chose chad, which is that you feel like a bad friend?

>That about right?
>>
>>26973728
no, but we have, so lets reap the whirlwind
>>
>>26973769
Works for me.
>>
>>26973769
Fuck I guess
>>
>>26973704
I guess it's because we made a pact with him that he would fight for us, and have our back and we would have his, and it feels like we've been leaving him behind more and more.

Or in other words, we're afraid he's becoming the Yamcha/Krillin to our Goku.
>>
>>26973757
>cqc isnt about super special snowflake awesomeness
If you don't have years of training to kill in Hakuda, yes it is.
>>
>>26973760

>>26973769

>>
>>26973769
Not just to him, but to Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro, Chizuru, don't even get started on being a horrible boyfriend.

Like maybe tie it to feeling guilty about how the whole Soul Society thing went down.

Like they risked themselves because they believed in us, and they got massacred.
>>
>>26973757
Actually, as CQC requires insane super speed, it kind of is special snowflake territory. That's why so few powerhouses have it.
>>
>>26973769
It's more we're feeling we're losing touch of our humanity.

Chad's just one of the biggest symptoms of an underlying issue.

That before all this started, we could always trust him to have our back.

But now?

Fuck that, we chose him because he's the strongest EXPENDABLE asset we have available. We can't risk any of our friends better suited to the task since its probably a fool's errand.

nah, they all just prefer swords cause thats basics of soul reaper. that and theres no bankia for cqc

Did we agree to sacrifice the group's best long term survival chances just to increase our chance of survival by a few percentage points? We're trying to avoid death. Sure we could use a medic or a spirit sense specialist, but we're probably fine without one. And as far as we know, all our enemies are locked out of this reality for the moment, so it doesn't mater that any arrancar (think Apacci) could curb stomp Chad without braking a sweat.

>[ ]Talk to Harribel
>[ ]Talk to Neliel

You let out a sigh, resting your head back against your headboard. “Guess I screwed up, huh? It’s just that I feel like I’ve been a bad… everything. A bad friend, comrade, boyfriend… You all risked your lives because you believed in me and we all got horribly massacred. So, I wanted to have one last trip with Chad in case this doesn’t pan out because he and I made an oath, but I guess I made an oath to more than just him, huh?”

You glance at both of them before shaking your head. “Go ahead and say what you have to say, I know I screwed up.”

Harribel looks at you, not breaking eye contact. “Ichigo, we follow you, not only because you beat me, but because you changed our world, forever. The hunger is gone and we can be people who don’t have to fight and kill to survive, rather just to protect. I will never turn my back on you for this.

“Apacci was only Adjuchas, she still had to eat but, to her, the leader made the best decisions. Now that she isn’t just a hollow, she has time to think and when she sees her leader weak and not trying to protect himself…”

She shakes her head.

“Regardless, it isn’t my place to judge you, your will is mine.”

She draws quiet as Neliel closes the book. She gives you a guilty look. “I don’t have the right to judge you or your decisions, Ichigo. Not after what I did. I can never atone for the betrayal I was forced to spring upon you nor for my failure to act in the face of Aizen. If not for my cowardice, things might have ended differently…”

She draws quiet and looks away.

>Responses?
>keep quiet?
>>
>>26974238
but it is always be to be a little cautious, there are soul reapers in the living world, them working for aizen isnt far fetched, tho he did say he was done with us
>>
>>26974241
That was more ambiguous and the urgency levels were unclear.

We need to leave soon, and there's clear right and wrong answers, and even though we knew what the right answer was, and that we chose poorly we had to wait a couple hours before we could say so, if we're allowed at all. Like it shouldn't be this hard to just go never mind.
>>
>>26974278

>>
>>26974190
Fine, dropping my opposition to that since I'm calling it a night for this quest. Seriously regretting rolling that 20 last thread, it really screwed things up. Sorry guys, this whole mess is ultimately my fault.

And sorry for whining Cosgrove, it's mostly sleep deprivation and RL frustrations bleeding in to this, which is why I'm walking away for now. That said I still think your doing a great job with this quest and hope things move more smoothly for you going forwards. Despite my current bitchiness, I still think you're awesome and /tg/ is mostly classy people.

Sorry for rambling, g'night all.
>>
>>26974278
"Harribel, you can tell me if I make a poor choice. I'm not infallible, nobody is. And Nel, you aren't a coward. if you were a coward you would have run but you faced both challenges with your head held high. I'm still going to talk to Chad, but Apacci really was right. Which of you would like to come and which wants to start getting to the bottom of the 'Blank' problem while we're gone?"

What I want to know is where did everyone get the idea that Cosgrove said that Chad was a subpar choice from? He never said such a thing.
>>
>>26974278
"The most important thing now? I guess it to accept the consequences and move forward."
>>
>>26974373
if not for that 20 we'd have no clue that we're dieing and, more importantly, we'd have no clue that there is a bro Aizen
>>
>>26974278
"Neliel, you didn't betray me at all. If anything I let you down by not being able to see how much pain you were in.

And Harribel... You're right, that under many circumstances, even this one, the best move is to prioritize self-preservation. Worrying about what you leave behind is only a problem if you don't think you'll be coming back. And if you start thinking that way... then you've already lost.

Still, I owe Chad an explanation in person."

Except we're taking Neliel. We need to make that clear so we don't have to go through this again. She's presumably approximately as powerful as Harribel, and she can heal.

>its not like the tres need babysitting

Apacci thought it was a good idea to stand in front of Aizen and say "I'm going to stop you" instead of actually trying to stop him.

She is way too eager.
>>
>>26974383
change the last line to asking Harribel to have her and the Tres work on the Blanks and take Nel
>>
>>26974510
no, bel is stronger than nel
3 versus former 3
3 wins

nel cant have been that strong if she had to release for grimjow

>>26974549
It was Nnoitra.

And she completely outclassed him in her released form, but he hadn't released yet so it's unclear if that matters.

Still, I'm pretty sure she's Captain-class.
>>
>>26974545
she is overeager, but she's actually pretty tough
that's the same attack that fucked up Komamura before Aizen bonded with the Hogyokou, he natted the attack, and she was only knocked out

>>26974545
but thats actualy admirable and she had a good reason, cause she kinda has fallen for us. specialy since that wonderful scalp massage.

>>26974575

She held off three captain-class shinigami without suffering a single wound.

Those three shinigami at least were above Nnoitra's level.
>>
>>26974463
>>26974491
Well I don't know why everyone freaks out so much when it's obvious that monobear isn't nearly as game over territory as people seem to think. People in Parker Quest didn't even react that much when it was used and in fact nothing happened! It's just the availibility bias at work. In fact our allies will probably lose respect for us for not sticking to our guns. If we act so unsure, what are they supposed to do?
>>
>>26974278
I honestly don't feel we're making the best choices by saying that we've cocked up. Yes, we did make a suboptimal choice, and many of our reasons are emotional rather than rational (and that's not even touching the unvoiced fact that picking a guy to go with us means that that Momo and Hime won't have room to feel upset), but our choice was still a reasonable choice. Over-apologising makes it seem like that isn't the case.

In short, respond thusly:
>Chad is a human, and is quite handy for navigating through the physical world. Nobody pushes around a big guy. His abilities are also defensively oriented.
>Emotional stuff is going to be hard to pull off, but we couldn't be who we are if we didn't at least try.
>Tell her in confidence that picking Chad also avoids making Momo and Hime feel uncomfortable about us going off alone with someone.

People may or may not wish to veto the last part of that though.

>>
Let them know that their input is not only welcome, but needed. Opinions, points of view, everything. We're flawed. Deeply flawed. We might not always heed their advice, but we need to hear it.

Also, I leave the thread for a few hours and you guys start alienating allies with your choices and potentially Cosgrove as well when he writes based off what you pick. What the shit, /tg/? What in the actual shit?

We can save that for later.
>>
>>26974704
Appachi is the only one who said something. And if that was the case then every decision you make becomes theirs and not yours. They may have a point, but we trust Chad. At the very least he went to Soul Society so he obvious had enough power. Plus I highly doubt Captain class opponents are going to start falling from the sky. He has been training for something like this and no one wants to give him a chance because they don't trust him to have our backs.
>>
>>26974704
>100% confident
Where did I say that? Fuck man, second guessing is alright, but last minute shuffling?

That reeks of having no confidence in yourself.

Frankly, I believe in Chad. I also believe in ourselves.
>>
>>26974704
We were confident and had reasons for picking Chad, but as soon as people started seeing some cons in not picking Nel, Ichigo's confidence shatters like the glass it is.

Aizen is a cunt, but he can at least act like a leader and doesn't crumble when a plan or two fail. This Ichigo flounders around every time we/he fuck up and it's annoying.
>>
>>26974747
Again, only Appachi said that. No one else said that. Heck Nel doesn't like to fight. So why try to bring her along? If we need a healer Orihime could do that job better, not to mention is great in combat.
>>
>>26974803
Except it wasn't last minute at all.

We mostly made up our minds before we called Chad on the phone. It just took a while for us to catch up to it.

And why the fuck should we be confident in ourselves? We've made bad decisions and are literally dying as a result of them.

We have no reason to be confident at all.
>>
>>26974829
This. Everything Apacci says or does is fuelled by her eagerness anyway and she doesn't even know what we've been through with Chad.
>>
>>26974848
>Except it wasn't last minute at all.
You call changing your mind before he shows up not last minute?
>We have no reason to be confident at all.
Self-fulfilling prophecy. The more doubt we carry, the shittier our chances are of getting our powers back. It's bloody soul magic.
>>
>>26974829
Harribel is clearly in agreement.

>when she sees her leader weak and not trying to protect himself

That wasn't subjective at all. That's pretty clearly what Harribel sees as well.

Like they seem like they want to say something but aren't able to.
>>
>>26974911
We changed our mind way before that. It's just that Cosgrove didn't notice.
>>
>>26974947
>It's just that Cosgrove didn't notice.
No we didn't, Chad still had majority and Cosgrove took it because it was the most agreed upon.
>>
Fading fast. Do as we will, be awesome, and all the usual jazz, going to collapse after Cos's next update.
>>
>>26974947
Nope, there was some grumbles after the phonecall, but really picked up after Appachi.
>>
>>26974947
>>26974925
Not really, it only started when people went, 'Cosgrove implied (not really) that Chad was a subpar choice, shift, shift!'. I mean if you really want to get into it Chad is probably the best choice. Why? Remember when we were in Hueco Mundo? How Harribel didn't want to come here? Because her spiritual pressure would kill normal humans? Well if she and Nel find an opponent they have to use their Resurrection's for then the highly populated City of Kyoto is fucked. And if it's an opponent they don't have to use it for then Chad can handle it. Plus he knows the human world better than them.
>>
Salvage the situation. If we're changing our minds to Nel or Bel, tell Chad that we have to take a trip. Tell him that we'd still like to honour our oath, and ask him, if he will still stand by us, to watch over our sisters and our friends who've been shaken by the recent events.
>>

Eh we're going to ask him what he thinks is the best course of action.

Like have him be honest with us.
>>
>>26975140
I think we should probably just wait for him to come in, in that case, and talk to him first.
>>
>>26975047
No. It's bloody impolite, implies that we feel insecure about his abilities to protect us.

And you guys really think that Appachi would have accepted our choice of Chad with a smile and bow?
>>
>>26975081
I never said anything about them being hollows. I specifically said that it was because of their spiritual power a.k.a their spiritual pressure, and since we're invalid that means fuck everyone in Kyoto? Chad's whole thing is protecting others, so let's have him protect us and have some fucking faith in him.
>>
>>26975151
lets just see if we can leave it up to him

anyway, everyone needs to quit bitchin. if cosgrove lets us change it then whopee. if no then we'll manage like we always do.

lets just stop complaining before he leaves

Can't hold out...

good night all.

To all I wish pleasant dreams of Soi Fon dressed as a Gothic Lolita Maid...

I'm gonna go sleep grouse about us not getting a Canon scene of Rukia going through the Great Weave Guard's & Queen of Grain's palaces. Guess which one I'm more upset about.

Also, I never confirmed, I found my Bringer Light Recipe pretty delicious.
>>
>>26975183
Yeah that sounds best.
>>
>>26975116
>>26975090
Sorry, I phrased that wrong.
I'm not suggesting that we lie to Chad. That shit doesn't fly.
When he gets here, we talk with him. We have him sit down and we have a heart to heart. We have to leave for a while with only one companion, and we chose him at first.
Self-doubt kicked in. We keep dragging our friends into situations that might kill them. We have no way of knowing this is safe. The Arrancar think we should take someone who's been involved in the Spirit World longer.
>>
>>26975205
and to you a good night.
>>
You shake your head and look over at Neliel.

"Neliel, you didn't betray me at all. If anything I let you down by not being able to see how much pain you were in. And you‘re definitely not a coward. If you were, you would have run, both you faced both challenges with your head held high.

“Harribel, please tell me if you think I’m making a poor choice. I’m not infallible, nobody is. And, you and Apacci are right, that under many circumstances, even this one, the best move is to prioritize self-preservation.

“Worrying about what you leave behind is only a problem if you don't think you'll be coming back. And if you start thinking that way... then you've already lost.

“Still, I need to talk with Chad in person. I owe him an explanation.”

There’s a strength back in your words, in yourself that you thought you’d lost. You’re not perfect, that’s why your friends are there - to keep you moving forward on the right path. There’s some shuffling at the doorway, but no movement and you let yourself sit there in a much more relaxed silence. A few minutes later, Chad walks in and gives you a nod.

“Ichigo, what did you need to talk about?”

You clear your throat and explain to Chad everything, including your decisions for and against wanting to take him. When you finish, he rests a hand on your shoulder. “Ichigo, I would have gladly gone with you, but I’m probably not the best person to do so. You’re injured, after all. But, if you need me, just give me a call and I’ll come right away.”

There’s a ringing noise and Chad pauses, pullnig out his phone to answer it. “Hello? Oh, yeah, no our date’s still on. See you later.”

Chad gives you a smile. “We made an oath to have one another’s backs Ichigo. I have never felt that you’ve betrayed that. I believe in you, so don’t stop believing in yourself, my friend.”

>(1/2)
>>
>>26975246
I actually like that
top it off by asking him to protect Momo and Orihime in our stead and we've got a pretty solid bro moment when he shows up
>>
>>26975271
He pauses, rubbing the back of his head. “But I’m going to be late to my date if I don’t head out now.” He pauses on his way out and looks back at you.

“Are you sure you don’t need me to come along? I can always cancel if you need me to.”

You shake your head and wave him on. “Have fun.”

He smiles and waves, heading back out as you let out a sigh. Well, Chad seems to be doing good at least. You stretch and look over a the clock. There’s still a few hours before school will get out. And, since there’s no sign of her or Momo.

You clutch at your chest as you feel it constrict, sending you into a coughing fit. But you wave Neliel off, barely managing to control it, wiping your hand away, you notice a bit of red to it.

You swallow nervously and ask about your girlfriends, but it seems like they’ve been forced by your dad to attend school again. You grit your teeth before shaking your head. You can call them later, but right now…

You need to go to Kyoto.

It doesn’t take long to pack what you need and get a medical note for a wheelchair from your father. You pause to apologize to Apacci who give you a nod.

You’ll have to make it up to everyone WHEN you get back.

Within the hour, your on the bullet Train with Neliel.

Your destination: Kyoto.

>>
>>26975807
so, a slightly off topic question

do you guys think that bankia is possible for the average soul reaper, that with enough training a meditation and being at peace with oneself they can do it.

i know byakuya said thats false but he was also full of shit
>>
>>26975845
I think so.

But I think you might also need to become strong enough for your sword to think you can handle bankai.

Byakuya's an elitist prick.
>>
>>26975845
Its a willpower/push yourself past your limit thing
meditation does work though byakuya is full of shit
its how ichigo learned final getsuga even
>>
>>26975845
general mythos is that Bankai is extremely rare and not even nobles with high spirit pressure will have access to one once every few generations.
This made Bankais that much more significant and impactful... however the powercreep shot sky high after that arc so it may as well have been said that Kubo couldn't think of another 20+ ultimate attacks for all the other characters.
>>
>>26975845
Speaking of Byakuya, is he arrogant enough to pretend to turn traitor right after six captains have suddenly disappeared?

He can't possibly think that would still be a good idea, familial pride or no familial pride.
>>
>>26975891
But it was also said that you can't become a captain without a bankai.
>>
>>26975895

>>
>>26975934
yeah, if they get old man genocides sword then there not gonna be much of the SS left

im pretty sure that theres stronger forces than our getsuga in the soul society that can break his shield
>>
>>26975871
It's stated that it takes an exceptional Shinigami to unlock bankai, and that only a very select few have the potential to do it.
Any arguments about Ichigo being a prime example of how a nobody can become a powerhouse run smack into Kubo's later reveal that Ichigo's the son of two incredibly powerful bloodlines.
>>
>>26975911
desperately hoping for a bigass interlude on that war.
>>
>>26975977
but look at ikkaku, hes not exceptional he just loves to fight. same with when kenny unlocks his later

infact alot of bankia(ers) arent exceptional
the only ones that are, are the 4 oldest and like byakuya and tousen
>>
am i the only one who wants to see the bankia of wabiske? it would be op as fuck
>>
>>26976034
in universe the bankai is based on how they fight
out universe Kubo ran out of ideas
>>
>>26976056
Well he's dead so we don't have to worry.
>>
>>26975975
I'm pretty sure Yamamoto removed himself and his zanpaktou from the game by making a barrier, and Ichigo was the only one who could pierce it I think?

Though now Muramasa has the Soukyoku, unless Shunsui and Ukitake think fast and break that thing.
>>
>>26976034
I'm still pretty sure that Unohana's bankai is just blood elemental, and the skeleton things was just from Kenpachi's perspective since he's strongly associated with skeletons.
>>
>>26976092
To be honest theyre fine without ichigo
Muramasa only went hollow mode because he saw ichigo's hollow
other than that all of the shinigami got their powers back on their own
>>
>>26976092
Oh and I forgot that it's possible that trapping the Soukyoku in a pocket dimension might be enough to release Arturo from his slumber.

So... that's fun too.
>>
>>26976122
I thought he only went hollow because he's been eating thousands of hollows to sustain himself, and after his master betrayed him, he had no reason not to lose it.

Though thanks to the Blanks, Muramasa won't be freeing Kouga Kuchiki anytime soon.
>>
>>26976092
Well they're down to 5 captains so...

>>26976113
From Uraharas dialog and his lines and moves in games; if any of it is taken into canon consideration, it's quite likely that his bankai is some sort of giant iron maiden dimension thing. Urahara is a scarry scarry man that will make the edgy blood rivers of eva looks like a lisa frank folder by comparison.

>>26976149

I don't think that's the case for Unohana, Shunsui, and Ukitake?

Pretty sure their swords were beaten by Muramasa directly?

Also Kenpachi took out Wabisuke and I think moustache guy's zanpaktou as well.

And Matsumoto only won by teaming up with Momo, while taking advantage of their zanpaktou not being able to do the same.

Shunsui
Ukitake

Kurotsuchi

...Soul Society is fucked.
>>

He's from a video game, not a movie.
>>
>>26976192
worst case secnario we get back and its basicly a stale mate with old man genocide and ryujiinjaka killing eachother at the same time with everyone elses dead bodies scattered around them
>>
>>26976198
It's not a movie. It's from a shitty wiggle waggle fighting game for the Wii. His name is Arturo and he was an Arrancar that terrorized the Soul Society a long time ago until the noble houses banded together and sealed him under central 46 tying the key to the Sokyoku. He can mimic people, objects, and even zanpakuto spirits. Also he's super spanish, has a lightsaber hand ability and can freeze you in time temporarily or something. His goal is Soul Reaper genocide.
>>
>>26976217
still the same

>>26976210
theve god unohana shunsui and ukitake the 2nd 3rd and 4th strongest, along with science bro whos fucking brillant. then theres byakuya and wolf dude who can just play bodyguard with the old man
>>
>>26976256
Also I don't think he has a Resureccion for some reason?

Or the game was just shitty enough to not give him one.
>>
>>26976280
Byakuya might have joined Muramasa.

Because Byakuya makes bad decisions.
>>
>>26976256

lolno

he was willing to kill the person he loved most in the world for the soul society. there is no way in hell he would seriously betray them
>>
>>26976287
Resureccion's weren't a thing yet. Hell the game released in the States before the Espada arc even started I believe, so unless you read the manga, Gremjow, Uliquiohura, and Arturo could all have very well just been characters they invented for the game.
Hell Gin was still doing that sword rain thing and Ukitake was still wind based.
>>
>>26976324
wait... so theres just a pile of imprinted and unactive zanpaktos just laying around?

there no way in hell that could EVER go wrong
>>
>>26976307
Just like every other filler villain, ya.
If he got full power he would be unkillable again; however if he gets his shit stomped quick enough after waking up, he fades into non-existence.
>>
>>26976326
Well he's not SERIOUSLY joining Muramasa, but he's sure as fuck going to act like he is.

"Well we weren't using the space and I even put two locks on the door... TWO."
"Christ we're bad at this..."
>>
>>26976362
yeah but that was just for sum bullshit reason and in the end didnt really help at all

plus there a lot of other factors this time around, like 5 captians just kinda dissapearing outta no where
>>
>>26976372
kinda like hiding giant SPIRIT BOMBS all round the entire soul society that someone can remotly set off (bount arc)
>>
>>26976347
In theory.

You'd think they'd sever the soul sleep of the shinigami prisoners thus neutralizing their powers, or at the least destroy their zanpaktou.

But Mayuri was able to go right back to active duty after Urahara released him.

So the logical assumption is yes, there is a pile of imprinted and inactive zanpaktou who belong to dissidents and insane criminals.
>>
>>26976363
His his story line (if you want to call it that) yes, he kills OMG and then promptly kills the rest of the soul society. All of it.
It's a terrible game with terrible forced dialog (you can tell most of the VAs aren't even into it) and a horrible story. Only get it if you want to get drink and waggle with friends and even then the less than shit-tier motion detection and novelty value will wear off after about an hour tops.

If you want a real good Bleach game; buy a copy of Bleach: Dark Souls for the DS
>>
>>26976396
oh gosh, someone please remind kubo of this. im sure he could throw that in somewhere, maybe another movie or something
>>
>>26976396
Though the reason we probably won't have to worry about that would be that that would make Cosgrove have to come up with a small army of completely original antagonists, and he's doing enough work as it stands.
