>Welcome to Bioweapon quest, a game which is (mostly) about small scale tactical combat, and getting deadlier.
>Don't be afraid to jump in if you are new!

You are a creature of simple desires. You desire to eat things. With every delicious thing you eat you grow, morph and change.

You are currently hunting delicious creatures. You were trying to accelerate your offspring's birth when you were interrupted by five armored invaders. You lured a pair of them into a forest, a room in the labyrinthine house of your creator. You successfully ambushed the flier with a net, and ate him to gain a wicked stinging tail.
>>
A silph was following the flier, and it is this one that you now stalk. You have attacked it a few times, retreating from it's phaser after striking a few times. Your chest and right wing are in a small amount of pain, where your scales have been seared after a taking a few blasts, but thankfully your armor provided protection from the grazing hits. You tried to poison the creature with your deadly toxin, but it didn't seem to have any effect on the creature's wooden flesh.

Your last attack has left it crippled, a powerful tail strike shattered one of the creature's legs. As it limps towards the door, and the other intruders, it pulls a fist sized object from a pouch and throws it over its shoulder. The weighty object hits a passing bird and both it and the bird land at your feet.

The bird is green with red patches, and goes squark.
The device is grey with a flashing red light. It is whining with rising pitch.

>What do you do?

>Poison glands should be [2/3]

You don't like this. Flashing whining things have been bad news every time you've experienced them in your short, but eventful, experience.

You spin around and kick the flashing stone (and the bird) which goes flying towards the green armored figure. It sails between the trees as it's siren reaches a crescendo. It explodes before it's gone the whole way, and a huge blue fireball erupts from the air around it.

You duck behind a tree to avoid the mess of flaming branches and leaves that the explosion tosses your way and then scurry through the charred underbrush. You find the silph thrown up against the wall, unconcious. It's armor is singed and it's leaves are smouldering. You can almost feel it's deliciousness slipping away.
>>
>>26968251
No! That might destroy the deliciousness!

>>
>>26968604
If your that new you should probably take those numbers off your name, that gives people a reason to get pissed off at you
>>
You grab the thing by it's shattered and charred armor, and drag it into the underbrush as quickly as you can; its deliciousness is draining from it just as its yellow sap does. When you get out of immediate sight you bite down on the things neck, unwilling to wait any longer. Your teeth dig into the oaken flesh and your mandibles crush it. You feel the Deliciousness catch as it dies. You begin to bite and claw, tearing the armor off and consuming the Delicious creature in chunks.

>Pick one of:
>Neck - Allows you to look in a direction other then forwards. Good for scouting.
>Upright posture - change your stance! Provides bonuses to social, and changes how you fight.
>Leafy bits - Forest camouflage. False leaves and sticks, and green and brown colouration. Other uses unknown. Twig puns +10

Birds sing, all around you.

Neck.

>>
Rolled 11

Changing my vote to either Neck or Leafy bits.

>>26968765
We can already use those, dude.

>>26968789
We haven't had trouble pouncing things and tearing out necks of previous victims.
>>
>>26968862
>we can already use guns
we have to roll just to hold them
even then we fumble with them so much we can barely aim the damn things
>>
Your spine twists and cracks, lengthening and changing. Your arms shift forwards and your wings backwards. You stand only slightly shorter then a human, as your head is nestled between your shoulders. You can balance on two legs now, leaving your hands free for other tasks. Like killing. You giggle excitedly.

Before you are the charred and shredded remains of the silph's green combat armor. She was carrying numerous pouches with electronic devices, though some were broken in your feasting fervor. You also see her phaser lying on the forest floor, near the doorway that leads back to the hangar, and the other intruders.
>>
>>26968640
Didn't we kill two of these already?
If so i think you never mentioned their weaknesses or did you drop it after fighting the space crabs.

Stick it to the man!

Upright posture.

We do the evolution now!
lots of things have necks anyway
>>
>>26969004
I think that's our general reaction to most stimuli.
>>
>>26968969
We ate the body dude.
Hey what did we get from that acid spitting gun thing again?
>>
So is anyone of the intruders going to take a dip in Elizas pool?
>>
>>26969055
I think we got a sonic attack.

Screaming. We can now scream. We broke a mirror with it.
>>
>>26969055
how about the remains then?
We can still use them for a trap.
>>26969073
I forgot we have that, it can be useful.
>>
>>26968640
Neck
>>
>>26968918
We need to find the extra delicious one. The one that shoots deliciousness. Then eat it.
>>
>>26969132
Indeed. We should try it next time we see one of those elephant dudes.

Big ears mean big sounds right?
>>
>>26968918
Bioweapon quest? Shit negro, that's all you had to say.

I reckon we attempt to use the radio and lure the rest of them out, taunt them into coming after us while we lie in wait.
>>
>>26969132
I think the sonic attack will be a good escape tool. Since it's (I think) infinite, we can use it to deafen enemies and run while they're disorientated.

Also I'd REALLY like to vote for self awareness next time. I don't like that our one weakness is a mirror, no matter how cute it is
>>
>>26969132
We ate her whole body. We eat the entire body of everything we eat, the only remains are blood stains.
>>
>>26969203
Human guy looks like a good choice for that. He wouldnt have any interesting mutations anyway.
>>
>>26968932
>You got descriptions for both these creatures, one last thread and one in the past. The bioweapon's memory is only as good as yours.

>>26968969
>>26969000
>Body? You mean the sap-smeared, splinter filled armor? or the bloody sinews tangled in the remnants of the net?

You quickly tear through the undamaged pouches and find three items of interest. The small disk like device the silph was trying to talk to before, another hefty rock, which explodes in fire, and a flat screen that flashes occasionally, whenever a bird flies past.

Unfortunately, you only have two hands.

You snatch up one of the grab the phaser from the charred grass. Green light shines out from a tiny crack down the barrel. You ponder your next move.

>Are you going to:
[ ] Head back to the hangar where the other intruders were investigating the burning wreck of the air vehicle you arrived here in.
[ ] Wait here in ambush.
[ ] Find explore to another room (Acidic smell, or earthen smell and mechanical noises)
[ ] Beg your creator for help
[ ] Other?
>>
>>26969227
Didn't we leave behind rags and electronics.
>>26969203
But we're delicious an ex-cuddly feather ball.i really wished we went the experiment 626 route with being dangerous and extra fluffy.
>>
>>26969306
points for you for that reference!
>>
>>26969306
And getting shot to bits every five minutes?
>>
>>26969295
Oh shit, she had a motion sensor! We can use that!

Take the motion sensor and the phaser. Totally useful. Also we have like 6 legs, right? I kinda want to put a few hands on maybe two of those, would that require a new mutation, or what?
>>
>>26969306
>I'd Just like to remind you that you can Shift biomorphs on any kill.
>But I forgot!

>Since you ate someone, you can either:
>Heal (charred scales: chest, melted scales: wings)
>Recharge bioweapon (Poison glands [2/3])
>Shift biomorphs (Gain one, lose one)
>>
>>26969295
Blood smeared armour for trap.
Also grab the motion sensor and communicator it could be useful.
So my vote is going back towards intruders and bring bloody armour to freak them out.
>>
>>26969370
We could always hold the bomb in our mouth. What could possibly go wrong!
>Please do not do this.
>>
>>26969306
We could still go back to feathers. Stealthy silent flying phaser-armed death.
>>
>>26969391
Will those damaged biomorphs heal because of our heart?
>>
>>26969391
Heal or paper making if we can do that instead.
>>
>>26969391
Heal.
>>
>>26969295
Can we don the shitty remnants of the silph's armour now that we are bipedal? If we do does it provide protection against phasers?

If so strap on that tac vest. If not take the motion/heartbeat sensor (good to get the drop on them) and the grenade.

As much as I would love to go and explore the other rooms that can be done later, best we not let our offspring's host get fucked up. Back the way we came to the hangar whilst checking the radar.
>>
>>26969306
lilo and stitch, well played good sir.
>>
>>26969356
Eh with the right evolution that problem can be solved.
>>26969416
Nah the scales are more important right now maybe we can change once we get to the last intruder.
>>
>>26969438
I think the communicator is more useful than the grenade and we probably don't know how to use it.
>>
>>26969472
Feathers are better for stealth. But scales protect us from death.

I, personally, want to move away from ambush predator, and become tougher, so we can actually tank hits without getting hurt.
>>
>>26969502
the grenade i meant for use.
>>
>>26969472
I reckon we go stealth on the telepath/psionic/psychic dude, trying to brute force it will only get us fucked up. We can deal with that after the next kill though.
>>
>>26969502
they don't know that though
>>
>>26969509
I find it more fun when we are playing like xenomorhps and going full tank has gotten us hurt and near death too many times.
>>
>>26969426
>Eventually.
>>26969370
>Two arms, two wings, two legs. Your wings do have digits, but it would be awkward to fly while holding things in them, and they're not in a particularly good place to shoot from, or look at. Since they're on your back.
>>26969432
>Paper making is full.
>>26969438
>The armor is quite damaged, you'd need time and effort to find something to basically strap it onto yourself. Also, You don't really have the hips needed to fill it out.

>post incoming.
>>
>>26969552
True but the chance to over hear their plans is to good to give up.
>>
>>26969516
Hard to stealth when he can tell you are there without seeing you.
>>26969564
In fairness thats because we were trying to tank without any real defensive mutations.
>>
>>26969564
We should hold off on the tanking. Tanking is for expendable minions. We should totally have got that mutation from the cyborg ape... Ah well. Eating metal is awesome too.
>>
>>26969603
Oh, I thought we had six legs. My bad.
>>
>>26969603
That's it, next evo I want child-bearing hips.

We broodmother now
>>
>>26969644
I think we had six legs and on pair turned into wings.
>>
>>26969628
Pretty much this. When we started evolving, we became an ambush predator because of our size. We got all caught up in social upgrades though, and when we changed size, we didn't have as many good defenses and weapons as we should have.
>>
>>26969603
>Hips:Increased protection, increased social, Increased sexual finesse
>>
>>26969672
>*one* pair
>>
>>26969628
touche, I forgot about that.

>>26969610
you make a good point, the grenade may do more harm then good.
>>
>>26969628
Also, we tend to fight stupid sometimes. We have acid spit, why are we not spitting at people's eyes using hyper reflexes!?
>>
>>26969672
not the guy you replied to, but I also thought we had 6 legs, fuck the wings, next time we need to shift out another pair of arms.
>>
So am i the only one that still wants to be an ambush predator like The Creeper in Jeapers creepers.
>>
>>26969732
Bioweapons are for emergencies, since we have to recharge them separately. They're useful when we feel outmatched.
>>
with our whip tail, poison and the fact that we like to go on cielings more often then not I thought we were an ambush predator.
>>
>>26969758
Despite the fact that those attacks have been the most successful ones thus far, /tg/ is too impatient for strategy.
>>
>>26969757
We did have 6 legs but two of them became legs and another two became wings.
>>
>>26969757
the wings are hella useful for moving around areas. All we need to do is find another octo our squid for additional limbs.
>>
>>26969785
We are and we get most of our kills though ambush, but there are some of us who want us to be something else.
>>
>>26969757
But But wings!
>>26969758
That dude was also super hard to kill. Besides just because we make ourselves bigger and tougher it doesnt mean we cant still ambush dudes.
>>
>>26969844
True, but he never truly dies based on what we learn in the sequel movie.
>>
>>26969844
We can only steal mutations from others, so, unless we run into some giants, I think 'Medium sized' is as big as we're getting. Which is fine, we can be like those fucked up things from Xcom that inject their acid babies directly into your neck
>>
There is a difference between wanting to turn into a tank and wanting to be able to tank a few hits.
>>
The sad part is that we're quickly reaching biomorph limit. We're either going to need to go up a size or start putting some of our stuff into storage.

Though getting more limbs WILL let us do more.
>>
>>26969821
yeah I guess, our increased bulk sort of dictates that wings are necessary for getting around.

I'd be pretty keen for some tentacles tbh. no tentacle rape pls /tg/
>>
>>26969898
True, but gaining size will be harder for us to hide and just make us bigger targets.
>>
>>26969644
>At one point you did. Then two became wings, and just now you gained two arms.

>Fully healed.
So many things, you can't just leave them here. You snatch up the explosive and the motion sensor with your wings, and hold the phaser and communicator in your hands. You grab the remnants of the silph's armor in your mandibles, and begin dragging it back towards the hangar.

The trip is short and uneventful, filled only with the scraping of ceramic plates and the rubber soled shoes across the matte black surface of your creator's home. You pass the caustic smelling room, and the sounds of mechanical clatter.

The hangar is dimly lit, and many thin walls obscure vision across it. You see smoke rising from the damaged aerodyne, engine apparently still on fire.

The communicator crackles and a voice speaks out from it.

"Struth, you'll never believe what we've found in here."
"What?" You hear the reply coming from both the communicator, and from over the walls near the wreck. It is laced with deliciousness.
"An entire swimming pool, complete with diving board."
"Don't tell me you're stopping for a swim?"
"Yeah, I ain't diving into anything that glows green and bubbles like that."
"Keep searching."

Your hands are full. You are hungry.
>>
>>26969923
i suppose we could move our 'stinger' into one of our limbs.
>>
>>26969880
My dream is to get the ability to consume deliciousness at will, and the ability to remote control non-sentients.

Though acid babies are cool too.
>>
>>26969923
Tigers are pretty big and they are still ambush predators.
>>
>>26969898
Whoa Red, if we become Large size, that requires some heavy thought. I mean, it makes us a huge target, and we probably would have trouble moving around space ships, and junk.

Though, I'm curious if our ability to change biomorphs in the field would let us suddenly decrease size from small to large on the fly, so we could go from stealth to rape assault really fast.
>>
>>26969934
lets rush the psionic
>>
>>26969945
>trouble moving around space ships
will not be a problem once we are space ship size
>>
>>26969934
I am DEEPLY interested in the Psionic as well.
Let's hunt it
>>
>>26969945
Depends on how large large is.
>>
>>26969974
Then we just need to hope for biological jet packs, I guess
>>
>>26969934
is the 'swimming pool' the caustic smelling area?

I vote we go after the bastard near the swimming pool, because we at least know he isn't near the psionic.

Also I vote we drop the armour, it's not needed.
>>
honestly large could mean long instead of bulky. we could be like 10 meter snake or something like that.
>>
I bet that the psion will give us true sentience/control of our body
im also wondering if a bet digestive system will heal us better or if better lungs would make us run faster/longer
>>

You scuttle back down the coridoor, to the caustic smelling room. You cough up some gobs of metal paper and stick the sap ridden armor to the wall opposite, along with an approximation of the 'I want to mate with you' gesture.
>Paper making [0/1]

You scuttle back to the hangar, and pull out the motion detector. The Delicious voice is in the centre of the room and seems to be pacing around the ruined aerodyne. You set down the grenade and phaser, before setting off into the maze of risen walls; there is no sense in wasting this delicious by accident.

You get about halfway across the hangar when the communicator crackles into life.
"I am being hunted." The delicious voice echoes from two sources. "There!"

Then the entire wall in front of you is wrenched off its base and flies toward you, riding a wave of Deliciousness.

You react instantly, ducking to the ground as the wall flies past you. It collides with the walls behind you, and you spring onto it, leaping high into the darkness that shrouds the roof. The Delicious figure in white armor stands beside the ruined air car, three of its four arms thrust towards you, and the last holding a phaser pistol.

It barely gets time to react as you soar down from above and land on it, rolling across the raised platform with it. You end up on the things chest as it lies on its back, your hands are occupied holding the devices, but that is the last thing on your mind.

Driven by pure desire, you clamp your mandibles around the creature's helmet and begin to suck the Deliciousness straight out of it, drinking the delicious power.

Your caustic saliva dribbles out of your mouth as you stand there, struggling with forces you don't entirely understand. Drops land on the being's faceplate, hissing as it sears away layers of protective metal.

Your mind struggles to pull, but the Deliciousness is firmly entrenched. You pull and tug, biting with teeth that don't even exist.

The creature below you gains some mental ground, and two of its four arms grab you by the wings. Two more arms start slamming into your chest, punching over and over, bruising your flesh. Just as you feel your rib crack, there is another, louder crack as the faceplate gives way. Your mandibles slice right through and into the creature's face and your fangs sink into the creature's face and eye.

Battling directly enhances our ability to eat.

>>26971045

Delicious Sense allows us to detect prey before we can even see them, thus allowing the setting up of better ambushes and superior hunting skills.

Knowledge allows us to better understand our new-found Deliciousness powers, allowing us to quite possibly expand into Battling and Force.

Essentially....we're taking Psychic Predator Vision and the knowledge of using Psionics over telekinesis (Force) and being able to battle someone's will/mind directly with our own...both of which require line of sight/knowledge of where they are.
>>
>>26971062
>>26971045

Battling sucks, look how well it worked on us.

We're not guaranteed to be good at it without skill, and as a Sapience-Vore, it's REALLY useful to be able to sense meals - particularly hard-to-find meals like those that hide in bodies or that abandon shells.

>>26971084
Knowledge includes theory and practice, though. We can do things, but we lack Finesse.
There's a difference between being able to talk, and being able to lie because we can't do that.
Same goes for muscle memories and skill. Just because we know how to use it doesn't mean we know how to use it the best.
We should go eat an olympic athlete or lifetime martial artist, or hollywood stunt man.

>Deliciousness battling - Attack other delicious creatures with your very self, directly.

We get that, we can TRIGGER the 'I eat their souls' ability. Consciously.
>>
>>26971224
Then get batteling and knowledge.
We need to get one combat mutation out of this.
>>
>>26971172

But we become an even better ambush predator.

Being able to stalk prey without seeing or smelling them is a HUGE advantage.

Being able to realize that there are more than one sentient creature in room A....but there's only one in Room C....whereas before we really wouldn't have that information before it's almost too late (and sometimes it was too late).

It also seems that the Sense may have allowed the Psionic to actually derive our motives (the whole "I'm being hunted" bit), which if true, is an even bigger boon, it'll let us know if what we're stalking is either aware it's being stalked, is on guard, or is oblivious to us.

Telekinesis is nowhere near as useful to us right now, and with the knowledge gained from psionics, we may be able to develop it at a later date.
>>
There is nothing in battling that says it will allow us to eat things like that AI or that hivemind.
>>
Rolled 86

>>26971200
A surprise attack and intense pain like what our poison did is more than enough to stop them from escaping in their minds.
>>26971266
Sensing is already combat orientated and plus while using battling whats to stop some one from attacking us.
>>
>>26971277
It says "Attack other delicious creatures with your very self, directly.".

AIs are delicious creatures.
>>
>>26971270
>It also seems that the Sense may have allowed the Psionic to actually derive our motives (the whole "I'm being hunted" bit), which if true, is an even bigger boon, it'll let us know if what we're stalking is either aware it's being stalked, is on guard, or is oblivious to us.

This is why Delicious Sense is important.

Plus we want to be able to hear what our creator is REALLY thinking.
>>
>>26971235
What about the things that can leave their bodys? Like that thing in the truck or the thing our creator tried to feed us?

>>
>>26971313

Then sense is even MORE important, because we can find out where they are REALLY tele-operating from.
>>
>>26971266

No, we don't.

And you're far too narrow in your definition of "combat".

Being able to set up ambushes...that's part of combat. Anybody who says otherwise is a dumbass who doesn't know the first thing about combat.

Combat is not just damage dealing. If you think that...leave now.

Combat is also positioning, planning, knowledge of your enemy, tactics, and strategy if you're going long-term.

Is there a way to speed up the recharge and how long does sense last, since its the obvious first pick.
>>
>>26971354

We had this conversation already! She IS delicious! But not anymore. Tainted delicious.

Because hahaha she makes bioweapons for a hobby, of course she has ware/tech/augments that make us not want to eat her.

Being able to sense her thoughts/motives - especially when she's trying to goad us into doing her bidding with a carrot lets us get the upper hand on her.

And we also know she made us unable to stop being hungry, just not how. Taking control of our hunger is the first step to throwing off her shackles, and reading her mind - especially when she doesn't know we can do it - is the first step to THAT.

The Psionic will sense us....and then sense that we sense him....he loses a major advantage he had over us...and that would be attacking us without us knowing he's there. Then we just physically attack him instead of psychically.

So much knowledge. Humans flying without machines. Fire and force, thrown about. The laws of physics are merely guidelines to your kind. Met a girl. She was never your friend. Your mind manipulated. You trained hard, besting the other children with sheer force of will. Too bloodthirsty. Many days alone.

You were assigned to the military. Perfect for you. Missions go well. Untrusted by all, due to your strange powers. Cast out. Mercenaries pay well. Don't ask questions.

Bounty on a renegade scientist. Meal ticket. Watching the pilot. Looks easy. Steal the technique, right out of her mind.

Breach and enter. Weak resistance. Much waiting. Your senses twinge. You are eaten.

True, the only real one up for discussion is knowledge and battling and even then i prefer knowledge.

Knowledge is more important, the second choice doesn't matter much but we need to be SMART.

You shake your head. You are standing in the hangar bay. You just ate the most delicious thing yet.

>Menaks are dark skinned creatures with four powerful arms and two vestigal ones on their chest. They are herbivores. Poor eyesight.

Your mind twists, changes. You reach out and see, just on the edge of your new sense, two delicious minds in a nearby room. One is stationary, while the other one walks a straight line. You recognise them as two from before, one human and the other Horatian.

>Delicious sense gained!
>Because this is an 'indirect' ability, it doesn't use charges. You have to focus to use it, it is not usually automatic.
>This might change in the future, but for now let's just get back to eating!

I wasn't even counting on that, I just wanted the chance to eat the hard to eat things.

>No. You can get that next time you eat a psion. Get hunting.

>Papermaking recharged [1/1]

You scurry off down the corridor, towards the deliciousness. You find them in a huge room, large then any you've seen before. Most of the room is filled by a huge sea of liquid, glowing green and bubbling. Around the edge there is a thin floor, covered in tiles. The Delicious human is crouched halfway down the long side of the rectangular lake, with its backpack set aside. It is working with an electronic device, which it waves over the bubbling liquid.

At the far end the horatian, still wearing its armor and helmet, has scaled a concrete monument that hangs out over the caustic lake.

"I'm telling you, there's something in there," the human shouts.
"Well if it comes out, I'll blast it," the other replies, voice distorted.

They don't seem to have noticed you.
You still hold the motion detector, and the communicator.
You are hungry.

If it's shit then I propose we toss the radio at it's head and watch as it falls off the monument into the acid. Then we laugh.

If not we toss something in the opposite direction to us and when they turn we get the human while the other guy isn't looking.
>>

>>
Rolled 39

>>26972405
Which is why i'm for using the armour trap and luring the big guy to it.
>>
>>26972142
We really need to lure them out though, this is a crappy place to ambush them.

It's open. It's dangerous to us. It's dangerous to them getting made undelicious before we can eat them.

Finally, there might actually BE something in the pool of acid. And it's not delicious so I want no part of it.
>>
>>26972465
We could just set off the grenade or screach near the door and pounce on them when they come to investigate.
>>
>>26972269
>Thick skinned, trunked creatures with wickedly curved claws, short tusks and a thick skull.

You hold the communicator up to your face.
"Help help! I was eaten!" You say, unable to reproduce the voices of any of the guests.
"Aww shit, it's got Ellen. Get down, we've wasted too much time."
You screach into the device, which whines and then bursts in a shower of blue sparks and so do similar devices on both the other invaders suits.

You quickly run back toward the hangar, where you had left the grenade.

When you return, the human has reached your grisly spectacle. It appears to have ejected internal fluids.

"Sick." The distorted voice says.

Just then, there is a huge roar that echoes through the entire structure. A collosal tentacle reaches out into the corridor, spraying acid all around as it grabs the larger figure, crushing its red armor and drawing it back into the pool room.

The yellow armored human begins firing its gun into the room.

You hold the grenade, and the motion detector. There is a lot of motion in the pool room. This motion is undelicious.

You are hungry.
>>
>>26972525
Easy prey. Leap onto the human's back and bite his head off.
>>
ok, well we are sort of divided and we need to come to a consensus.

You leap onto the human, bowling it over from the side. You slash at its neck, but it's thick mangey fur makes you misjudge the attack. It kicks at you, and the points its shotgun at your chest.

You slam forwards with your arms, knocking it against the wall. There is a crack and a pop as the human's head slams agains the wall, and red fluid begins leaking out as it collapses.

Inside the room the horatian is fighting a writhing mass of tentacles. It is held high above the lake of acid, firing it's heavy phaser downwards repeatedly. With every blast charred flesh and glowing acid are flung around the room, searing the walls. The Delicious fatsack's armor is corroding as you watch, it won't last much longer.

You heft the grenade in one arm, and prepare to throw...

You don't know how to make it flash, but that's not the important bit anyway. You toss the heavy thing, and it arcs over the pool. A smaller tentacle darts up and grabs it and grabs it. It sinks back into the churning mass of acid.

A few moments pass as the horatian struggles, blowing off a large tentacle.

Then there is a boom, and the very sea seems to rise up. It is as if a huge bubble has burst, but inside was not air, but fire.

An expanding wall of acid and severed tentacles sweeps towards you, filling the room and the coridoor.

You realise how small you are.
You are hungry.

>>26973758
Yeah...we should pick that up from humans too, come to think of it. A REAL skeleton.

Also want tough skin from elephant race
>>
>>26973772
>Polite
Damn, that's some hardcore typo
But hey, that works too
>>
>>26973770
think of the sick armour and weapon we could buy with all the moneys though...biomorphs plus technology?....
>>
>>26973801
I think tough skin is mutually exclusive to better protective dermis upgrades, like scales.
>>
Rolled 62

>>26973754
True we do know how to drive several vehicles, but this is the space military we are talking about.
>>26973790
I forgot we were small at that time, but our master should still be famous and we did take out a whole building of people that had cameras so they should still have an up to date image of you.
>>
>>26973801
Or osteoderms from someone else, these are great because they're subdermal. You could have them and tough skin, and tough scales.
>>
>>26973820
>>26973772
More like: "AY YO BABY, U WANT SUM FUK?" *repeatedly gestures with middle digit*
>>
>>26973719
>Speaking of 'over time'... We still don't have a time sense.

We should fix that.

In fact, we just need to get a 'tier 2' brain with all those fancy little things sapients have, like an internal clock, self-determination, observation to detail, a better understanding of linguistics, etc....
>>
>>26973782
It says that literally no where, only way we are going to get more psionic I reckon is if we eat more psiconic dudes
>>
>>26973852
I wouldn't mind a tier 2 brain.

Toque, I hope you're not gonna make up kill a guy just so we know what time it is, or that that funky thing in the mirror is actually us.
>>
>>26973830
They may be in game, not sure, but mechanically tough skin and scales are combinable in reality because they're different layers in the dermis.
>>
>>26973869
maybe not increase our psionic powers, but perhaps our recharge time on psionics?
>>
Rolled 54

>>26973852
True, but having a sense of time can be bad as well.
>>
>>26973920
Because boredom?
I'm sure we can handle ourselves.
>>
>>26973852
>>26973920
If we get a sense of time, we can improve our tim/ing/, too. Amusing as it is to repeatedly kill our mirror-selves, we ought to get smart enough to figure that out, too.
>>
Rolled 59

>>26973946
we are simple minded and let our urges take us over, i don't think we can handle boredom yet.
>>
>>26973911
We dont have any to recharge. Hungry vision has unlimited uses. At the moment anyway.
>>
>>26973920
We're using grenades. We need a sense of time.
>>
>>26973660
>You could impart force about equal to your bodymass flung at something by leaping. Hefty, but not OP.
>>26973656
>I feel I have to keep repeating this: The Bioweapon is exactly as smart as you play it. You will never gain raw intelligence through biomorphs, just new understanding and ability, such as reading, speaking, or plotting throwing arcs.
>>26973633
>>26973714
>While I don't really want to stop you from taking a path like this, I think it would be better if we kept the more visceral feel, instead of chasing spacedollahs.
>>26973624
>More like "Huh. I didn't expect that. Now I get to write out some backstory and give you more insight into the universe."
>>26973670
>>26973688
>>26973717
>I would advice against taking on an entire planet's military at this stage of your evolution.
>>26973685
>Metamorphosis was an option that didn't get picked a while ago. I shall bring it back. It's a bioweapon that lets you shift without eating.
>>26973790
>You are still green.
>I miss the feathers.
>>26973782
>Psion guy.
>>26973900
>hehehe
>It would have been amusing, if you had chosen the social route.
>>"It's my birthday on Saturday."
>>"Uh..." *Scurries off and devours a hobo* GIFTS ARE REQUIRED FOR BIRTHDAYS
>>26973911
>Those memories _were_ awfully delicious.
>>26973975
>You can disregard boredom. Your second upgrade was the ability to override your bodies forcing drives.
>>
>>26973975
That's why the upgrade would help, unless you're suggesting that we need ANOTHER upgrade that is "Stop being stupid, you simple minded dork"
>>
Rolled 35

>>26974004
we don't even know how to use them all we did was chuck it.
>>
>>26974022
Oh I know Toque, I didn't mean we'd get 'smarter' that way, I just 'smarter' as in we'd know how to do more stuff. Like talk about stuff without gibbering, etc.
>>
>>26974022
>Backstory
Yay, I'm glad to hear. I love me some backstory. If we encounter more 'simple bodies', I'd be willing to take more knowledge upgrades. As it is though, we are running into new junk a lot, so it'll have to wait.
>>
>>26974022
I, too, miss our feathers. We were small and fluffy and adorable, once.
>>26974046
Exactly. With no time sense, we could as easily have just herped and derped staring at a live grenade until it exploded in our face.
>>
You know what we need to do now? Go hunting spacewhales.
>>
>>26974022
>WHAT IS A BIRTHDAY
Oh god, stop making us the most adorable killing machine ever! God damn.
>>
Rolled 11

>>26974118
We should pick knowledge whenever the other choices are useless.
>>
>>26974179
That's the problem anon, they almost never are useless. Not recently, anyway.

And, as much as I like backstory to this world and characters, I can't help but vote for the upgrade that means I'm less likely to die, or more likely to kill something good.
...or to get Psionic powers. That's also a huge goal.
>>
>>26974236
We could hit the psionic planet from that dudes mind.
>>
>>26974283
I doubt it's a Psionic planet.

Like Toque said, it's just something that happens to people sometimes.
Now, what WOULD be good is to hit a Psionic academy. You know. AFTER we're strong enough to destroy a planet.
>>
>>26974323
>Now, what WOULD be good is to hit a Psionic academy. You know. AFTER we're strong enough to destroy a planet.

We need a name for ourselves.
I vote Regis.
Mark Twelve.

Mark is our middle name.
>>
>>26974323
That was what I was on about.
>>
>>26974118
This is part of the reason I wanted to go down the "eat minds" route. If you need to go toe to toe to win, size and expressed combat biomorphs are important.

If you can latch onto their spine and suck the delicious right out of them, small and stealthy (and cute) works great.

On the other hand, if we get large enough we'll be able to swallow humanoids whole. (being ever careful of grenades...)
>>
>>26974236
I dont think it's a psionic planet. From the sounds of it him being psionic was bad and he got put into something resembling the blackships from 40k. Toque also said they are exceedingly rare.
>>
>>26974354
Why do we need a name?
>>
>>26974354
We're Delicious.
>>26974398
I expect we could actually eat a grenade without harm; anything we swallow kinda just... Disappears, mass and all.
>>
>>26974402
For on the wanted posters. Either we choose one or someone else will, you know.
>>
>>26974402

Because NO ONE CAN STOP REGIS
REGIS IS INVINCIBLE
>>
>>26974398
I'm hesitant to get any bigger before we devour some sweet sweet minds and bodies still...but you never know. If we find something large that's sentient, then it might be worth eating right there.
>>
Rolled 11

>>26974426
I'm guessing we will need an upgrade for that.
>>
>>26974437

HAHAH YES THAT SHOW! FUCKING LOVE IT!

>>26974402

Your arguement is no match for the superior tactical abilities of the regis mark five! which is invincible!
>>
>>26974438
We want more defense if we we go bigger
>>
>>26974500
Exactly. We'd just be a bigger target, slower, and make it harder to hide.
>>
>>26974515
>>26974500

what we really want is this

>>26974022
>>Metamorphosis was an option that didn't get picked a while ago. I shall bring it back. It's a bioweapon that lets you shift without eating.

Shifting forms is way better for hiding than being big, small, or able to wear clothes.

Plus, it lets us suit our armament to the situation.
>>
>>26974548
I'm still upset we lost that upgrade because...of something.
Hope we can get it back.
