>"...You've just completely destroyed my faith in the NYPD, I hope you're happy."
>Sorry, my mother always told me not to play with bad girls
>That was fast

You shake your head. “Wow, that was fast. You know, you’ve just completely destroyed my faith in the NYPD, I hope you’re happy.”

She leans in, tracing circles on your chest. “Extremely so.”

You raise a finger and shake it, your voice full of jest. “Sorry, my mother always told me not to play with bad girls.”

Her eyes hood as she lightly bites down on your finger, not doing anything buy applying light pressure before letting go. She must not have any malicious plans because your Spider Sense isn’t reacting. “Oh, but we bad girls are all the fun, Spider.

“Besides, you can always punish me for being naughty.”

She’s leaning in as she whispers into your ear.

“Besides, you’re the only one to know what I look like, and I /am/ at your mercy.”

>[ ]Continue bantering
>[ ]Well, there is this one thing, but I don’t know if you’re up to it…

“Cat, I don’t think you’re at /anyone’s/ mercy. After all, didn’t you just escape police custody?”

She pulls back and smiles as you check behind your glove, seeing the money in there. “Oh, you charmer. Checking to see if I took Jameson’s reward?”

She’s amused as she leans in. “Don’t worry, I don’t plan to steal that from you, Spider. After all, we /both/ got what we wanted, after all.”

You make a motion of being shocked. “"...It was never about the money or the adrenaline at all, was it?

“Your whole thieving career was just a ridiculously convoluted way of getting a date."

Her eyes widen in surprise before she grins, leaning against you further, causing you both to topple over, her straddling you. “Well, no. But it is a good idea. How about it, Spider? You and me on a daring date where two individuals should never be found.”

She leans down and you feel her chest press down on yours as you feel her breath against her mask as her voice seems to promise very indecent things. And you think, if there wasn’t anything you wouldn’t want her help with. And you know of one thing.

“Well, there is one thing… But I don’t know if you’re up to it.”

Her eyes widen in excitement as she adjusts herself to be straddling your hips, her voice heavy and breathy. “Really? Do go on.”

“Well, There is this company named Oscorp who I need to find out what they’ve been up to. It’d require only the best, you know. Are you /sure/ you’d be up to it?”

As you teasingly ask her, you see a spark of real consideration and interest light up in her eyes and with that you know that you’d hooked her on the idea. “The best, Spider? There’s none better. And going after Norman Osborn? Oooh, you do know how to get a girl interested.”

You smirk behind your mask. “Well, assuming you are a girl. After all, that’s all assuming that all you’re wearing is a domino mask and catsuit, right now.”

She grins, pulling down the zipper of the catsuit, revealing pale flesh as she grabs your hand and puts it inside, cupping a breast. “Well, I am wearing a wig, but it /is/ my natural hair color. And that’s all natural. Go on, give a feel.” As she grinds down on you with her derriere, causing a very natural reaction to the feeling. You gulp as she gives a light moan.

“Oh, is that webbing in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?"

You’re flustered by all of the contact and your mind goes blank for a second. “I uh, huzahwhat? I think I need an adult.”

She grins as you play it off jokingly, as she leans in, mouth right next to your ear. “But Spider, I /am/ an adult.”

She puts her hands at the base of your mask and moves it up some, but you decide to trust her as she only moves it up to reveal your mouth. She gives you a grin before pulling you into a kiss.

Its amateurish but deep and needy as she grinds against you, arms wrapping around your back pulling you deeper into the kiss. You try not to respond, but its so hard not to, your hand resting on her breat, the other goes to rest on her rear.

Finally, she breaks the kiss and pulls back, a trail of saliva following. She’s flushed but pleased looking as she smiles at you, her chest heaving as she breathes deeply.

“That was my first kiss Spider, I hope you like my gift.”

She leans to your barely expose earlobe and gently nips on it as she whispers. “I think I’ve decided what I plan to take from you, too.”

She pulls back as you tense up, a teasing grin on her face as she traces a heart shape on your chest.

“Your heart will definitely be stolen by this Black Cat. That’s my public warning to you, Spider, can you stop me?”

She gives you a teasing grin as she gets up, being sure to give you a show. She extends her hand to help you get up.

Her voice is teasing, but there’s a note of seriousness in it. She shrugs, pulling up her zipper as she leans over and gives you one more kiss over your mask. “For luck, Spider.

“Though, I will be one cross Cat if I find you cheating on me!”

She waves a finger while showing off the emerald cat statue with the other before she jumps over the ledge. You go over to look, see if you have to react, but there’s nothing down there. She’s vanished without a trace.

>Sit on the rooftop for a while.
>Check money

You sit on the rooftops for a while, sorting things out in your head, or at least trying to make things less muddled. It isn’t easy, because the Black Cat’s pretty much stuck in your head.

You decide to check your money, pulling it out of your clove. Counting it, it is all there, but in he middle of the roll is a white card, with a black cat printed on it. Flipping it over, you see a note written it begins with a telephone number.

-”My number, don’t be afraid to give me a call, Spider.

-“Black Cat”-

How? How the hell did she manage that? Stupid sexy thieves. After a while, you decide to head on back. You have something more important to think about.

How exactly are you going to actually GIVE this money to Aunt May or Uncle Ben?

-“SPIDER-MAN! HERO OR MENACE?!”-

The figure sets down the paper, leaving red handprints on it. “Spidah-Mahn, eh? Interstin‘. Very Interestin’. Ah’ll have to give him a lookssee when Ah get there.”

The figure looks at the room its in, a red smiley face drawn on the wall. One of the figures on the ground, a child, tries to say something. “r-r-ed”

The figure grins, licking its lips. “That’s right. It’s my favorite color, ya see. But now now little child, yah best go to sleep. Forever.”

Finishing off its last victim, the figure leaves the room, whistling merrily, leaving behind a scene of total and complete carnage.

>>
Willpower
Fellowship
Bio Student
Chemist

We need Bio for Symbiote/spider study. Which will be helpful if we get a sample of carnage.
Chemist for creating alternate formulas to the webbing solutions along with perhaps making flashbangs or chemical bombs.
Willpower to resist Symbiote influence. and Fellowship to befriend symbiote as well as dealing with our current entourage.
>>
>>26920244
Engineering could help bring in more money and provide a better cover for being out and about late because we were fixing shit for people, no?
>>
>>26920244
I don't think it's actually Carnage, yet, just Cletus Cassidy. Bringing out the red symbiote when the black one has only been hinted at doesn't make much sense, so he's probably just a serial killer. In which case Webcrafter might be a better investment than strength. Web him down, keep him from pulling a knife on us, and we should be fine. Not that it will stop him from killing Uncle Ben along the way somehow.
>>
We should probably prepare for the most general challenges we can.

>>26920459
>Yeah...but he's Richards...
That line sums it up. Hell, I would prefer SHIELD over Richards... Really just don't like that guy.
>>
>>26920416
Yeah this is why I suggested strength, agility, and spider-sense.

The first two help with the Symbiotes and everything else. The last one doesn't help with symbiotes, but helps with everything else and is generally a good investment for danger, let alone combat.

It generally also keeps him safe from changing where someone can see him. Better spider-sense means safer.
>>
>>26920385

Yeah, right now nonsymbiote Cletus is still a big threat.

Searching a city is *hard* even for a webslinger. If Cassidy is stealthy about it, he can run around the city butchering folks for days - and we'd have no way to find him short of luck and maybe bugging Gwen for police info.

...actually, Black Cat might be really useful here. If she actually *sells* what she steals, she might have "plot-convenient black market contacts".
>>
>>26920455
>JUSTICE does not need money!!
BULLSHIT, fighting people burns tons of calories and an enhanced body makes it even worse.
>>
Anyone else find it odd that at the end of Arc 1 Uncle Ben is still alive?
>>
>>26920345
That is certainly an option, and making sure our cover is harder to see through is in my mind more important than dealing with the symbiote. Because that will likely come down to a roll anyway and we can always nab a +8 from spending a spectacular point on it.

Engineering is kind of important because if we need to advance or modify any of our gear, that will be an engineering roll, and we might still have to roll engineering to replace some of our current stuff, so there' that.

After that Webslinger is practically required. We have a 12 con which isn't going to help us when we're up against the wire so boosting that 2 will be good, Stealthy lets us get more information, and engage on our terms, which leaves us with 1 point we should probably just put into Fellowship.

So I think we should pick up:
Engineer: -3
Stealthy: -3
Webslinger: -4
+1 Fellowship: -1
+2 Constitution: -4
>>
>>26920564

One of the smartest, most capable scientists in the Marvel setting, has technology that could end wars, unite the world, or at least cure at least one disease, doesn't do anything with any of it.
>>
>>26920650
He generally follows through with a plan to fix or solve a problem without consulting anyway.

Basically, he gets caught up in being a super scientist and forgets to be a human being/a father/etc.

He's a good man but, to flip a turn of phrase over, he misses the trees for the forest.

No Mary Jane!

If anyone besides Black Cat and Gwen show up, I'll take anyone but her, Kitty, Dazzler, anyone but her!
>>
>>26920672
See, the reason I boosted Con is because we're going to get caught out, and going to need to make like a DC 17+ roll to black out, rolling at a +1 means we have 25% chance of making it without any use of spectacular points, and failing that roll could cost us far more. A 14 con gives a +2 iirc, which gives a 30% chance. Not that big an improvement, but rolling in the upper 3/10ths is just more wiggle room, especially if we get a larger tollerance before we make that roll.

I believe we have a better overall chance of survival and meeting our goals with a more generalist approach than with one more focused. Marvel-verse engineering can cover a multitude of sins.

And your math's off, going off of my breakdown, we'd need to drop all stat advancement for the improved Spider-sense.
>>
>>26920672
The stronger Spider-Sense would help avoiding needing to roll for constitution. As well as other things.

How open is this quest?
Can we do such a thing as enviromental, plot convenience points? or just tell the DM to change the setting when we want?
Like we have enough time to go inside a manhole, we fight Venom on a subway train and we get some options; either we retreat more easily by pushing Venom off the train, or we kick his ass with electricity.

Also can we change our spiderman suit to nanobots?

Television.
>>
>>26921467
Well Gwen actually likes us for who we are. As far as we know, Black Cat is just a slutty adrenaline junkie with a cosplay fetish.

In any case; easy sex to a teenager is a difficult thing for them to pass up and will more than likely cause one hell of a crisis within Peter.
>>
>>26921510
You're expecting a thief and master of disguise to tell use the truth? That not only is she an adult, but that we're her first kiss?
That is straight up and down playing to fantasy right there and she knows it.
There's no way someone could be THAT forward and still be a kissless virgin.
>>
>>26921571
Yep. This is kind of the big thing. All told, we can trust Gwen. Hell, we used that trust in a gambit to see if it really was Gwen earlier. Our trust in Black Cat will only go as far as we maintain her interest. Betting on that without leverage over her? A fool's gambit.

...I'm honestly annoyed of that being more and more what people think what the symbiote does. The symbiote didn't do that in its original appearances. It was just an alien costume that was tiring peter because fighting crime for him as he slept. The only thing it influenced was Peter not going to see Reed Richards so what it was wouldn't be revealed. It only started to even learn of hate when Peter started rejecting it.

Others have adapted that later on and its become the norm for most adaptations since then. Which is fine for later on because of years and years of being on angry villains, but it shouldn't be like that in its origin.

It never originally did any of that. It just wanted a bond with Peter.

616 Reed told baby Valeria a bed time story once, basically lamenting getting his friends and himself turned into freaks, and that everything he has done since was to cure or make the world accept them through the science of celebrity, that's why he makes science that isn't for the masses. If he did things that pissed off the powers that be, his family would be fair game.
>>
>>26924547
So his justification is that he's a raging coward who'd rather do the safe thing than help mankind.
Again, he's a dick.

Admittedly it doesn't really matter. Everything around this is basically just the result of Marvel not wanting to have the setting be significantly different from present-day earth.
>>
>>26924387
I believe the explanation that's been used in a fair number of comics is pretty close to this, only tempered with Reed's own failings. He built his own spaceship, rocketed off to the high frontier in search of adventure...and horribly mutated his closest loved ones. Sure, Ben's the only one who shows it externally, but they all became something other than human because of his hubris. How can he trust any of the technology he devises to be safe, then? He'll play with it for the sake of pure science, maybe use a gadget or two to fight whatever Victor's come up with this week, but he ultimately does not believe his creations can genuinely help people. Too much potential for things to go bad even if approached with the best of intentions, like that time a company tried reverse-engineering unstable molecule fabric and wound up disintegrating everyone in their research building.
>>
>>26924380
He could be recovering from all the biopsies to remove the tumors. He's so pale because of the chemo. He has silver hair because he's actually wearing a wig. He chose a silver one because he wanted to feel closer to his big sister, who he and his father haven't heard from in years.

>>
>>26924611
Sometime's that's inconsistent.

When Scott got the power of the Phoenix and decided to forcibly turn Earth into a utopia, Reed was one of the few ones who didn't go "Let's fuck up his shit because status quo is inherently good".
>>
>>26924766
It's kinda funny, because when Cyclops and co were super Phoenix charged and went around giving everyone impossible supertech and eliminating hunger and shit he was like the only superhero to go "Yeah... this is cool. This is some cool shit, they're making the world a better place. Don't antagonize them please."

Meanwhile Tony and Cap were all "HOW CAN THE WORLD BE BETTER IF THEY HAVE ALL THE POWER" and "AMURRIKA SHOULD BE THE MOST BEST, NOT MUTANTSTAN."

Seriously, fuck Marvel's awful inconsistent event writing.

>>
>>26924740
Does he? I must have missed that detail. Well, the biopsies explanation could still work in that case. Not that Pete is impolite/brave enough to ask just what disease Felix has, anyway.

Though really, it would be kind of disappointing if there was a reasonable answer for Felix. Playing "Guess! That! GENDER!" is half the fun. I suppose we'll have to wait for the inevitable moment where Felix responds to Peter being supportive with a kiss only for Pete to find it feeling oddly familiar for it to be settled one way or another.

>Why does that appeal to me?
>Seriously, what's happened with my life that I find reverse-traps kind of hot?
>>
>>26924832
Yep.

He and five other X-Men got hit with some Phoenix. For about five days they went around solving all the world's problems and establishing a paradise. The the president ordered Captain America to stop them, so they started attacking them with Wanda's 'chaos force' and assaulting them telepathically.

Cue Dark Phoenix.

Now Scott is a wanted terrorist but beloved by the world, and has totally dropped any pretense of turning the other cheek. He carves an X into the faces of dudes who produce Sentinels and has Magik literally send them to Hell.

You mean he treats them like they aren't as intelligent as him because they aren't. They can't be trusted when every fucking villain would turn whatever is helpful into weapons.
>who could be helped by his work are dying every day
So why shouldn't he just use a time machine and prevent bad things from happening? It isn't his fucking responsibility to fix things that aren't his problems just because he can.
>But we move the fuck on.

>>
>>26924910
It's pretty awful.

It bends over backwards to try to make the Avengers come out right, but it fails at every turn and manages to make Scott and company infinitely more sympathetic. This has put Marvel in an awkward position, as everyone's rooting for the guy they wanted to turn into a villain. So now they've got Scott as this extremely popular anti-hero who gives no fucks and spares no mercy.
>>
>>26924063
Yeah, I hear you.

That's why I'm all for, when we finally do get the symbiote, we find a way to establish communication with the symbiote, assuming we're getting "alien from another dimension" symbiote, and not the "bioengineered ball of RAGE" symbiote.

Establish some ground rules, such as "please don't take my body crimefighting while I'm sleeping", and "[x] and [y] and [z] are friends. Please don't hurt them."

Don't phrase them like demands, but ask the symbiote not to do these things. If the symbiote does develop feelings for us, because come on, let's face it, the symbiote turned into a textbook axe-crazy ex-girlfriend when Peter forcefully separated it from his body. then chances are, it would actually listen to us and we could potentially avoid having a Spider-sense proof villain added to our rogues gallery.

>You mean he treats them like they aren't as intelligent as him because they aren't.

>They can't be trusted when every fucking villain would turn whatever is helpful into weapons.
Yes, because everything ever can be weaponized. That's why in the real world we have to worry about the dangers of weaponized solar panels.
>why shouldn't he just use a time machine and prevent bad things from happening?
Because of the Novikov Self-Consistency Principle. You can't change things with time travel, because if your time traveling would change anything, you would have already changed it. Any attempt to alter the past will simply ensure that events occur exactly as they already did.
>Who does? Oh right, not everyone.
What did Reed do, really? He gave himself, his lover, and her little brother bitchin' superpowers. The only one he should feel anything APPROACHING that level of crippling guilt over is Ben, who got the short end of that stick.

>>
>>26924956
I think the problem was that Peter didn't really realize the symbiote was sapient until the very end of his partnership with it, so establishing boundaries wasn't something he even thought of. All he saw was "Oh god ooze monster fusing to my flesh kill it with church bells!". Which I suppose makes sense in the context of him getting the symbiote during the Secret Wars. He originally thought it was just a piece of advanced technology, the realization it was alive was horrifying. But that excuse doesn't fly if we're going by any alternative continuity where Secret Wars didn't happen. In those it's usually found in some sample of space rock, meaning Pete's an idiot for not assuming it might be an alien organism. Realizing its conscious and intelligent is a bit of a leap, but going from "I have bonded to an alien symbiote" to "I have bonded to an INTELLIGENT alien symbiote" is easier to cope with than the sudden realization that your pants are alive. Much less likely to freak him out. Though if we really wanted to ally with the symbiote we should still probably boost our willpower, not just our fellowship and intelligence. We're going to have to avoid a major freakout, let's stack the deck as high as we can.
>>
>>26925145

Well, we know she's petite enough to disguise herself as Gwen. So she's about the same height as a teenager, probably doesn't have the largest chest, and is good enough at changing the appearance of her face that Gwen's own father didn't notice anything. So passing as male is entirely possible. Although, that set of conditions also could work for male passing as female during heists. Just because the breast felt like flesh doesn't mean anything, you think Pete knows what boobs feel like? They could just be very convincing falsies.

Though either of those situations is kind of bizarre. Why would Cat need to do such a thing? No one knew the Black Cat's gender up to now, faking people out is meaningless. Does Felix/Felicia just think really far ahead for the day they're finally spotted? Assuming it is Felix, of course. He could just be a distraction Cosgrove is giving us for the sake of his evil. Meanwhile the actual Black Cat turns out to be Jessica Drew or something like that.

That came a bit later than mope jumping on the spidey sense wagon though. Or at least I only want it for the directional warning bit, since we are much better able to get ourself and others out of harms way if we know where the danger's coming from.
>>
>>26925796
The power armor thing is kind of odd considering how we're also planning how to powergame into having a non-evil symbiote. How many suits are we going to wear at once? I mean, insulating the symbiote from its weaknesses would be nice, but I'd imagine it would be too stuffy for it. Plus it would mean we'd have to stick with artificial web shooters instead of shooting out effectively unlimited symbiote-webbing. Though that might actually be a good idea anyway, if we're trying to make friends with it. Seems kind of unfair to make it constantly shed its mass just so we can save money on ingredients for web fluid.
>>
>>26925796
Ah, okay. Yeah, I thought you were talking about an actual proposed distribution for points. That's not going to be that likely, Cosgrove is good at building quest progression systems. So getting to be prescient would mean being weak in all other areas.

Though as >>26925842 points out, we're not really suggesting anything all that powergamey, as we aren't trying to build up Gwen as a support character building all of our stuff. Currently it's trending towards getting Gwen to be a super strong amazon of a superheroine alongside our blinktank.
>>
>>26925943
Of course that assumes we're getting normal Symbiote instead of Ultimate Symbiote.

That guy sucks.
>>
>>26925943
Huh, I thought we'd just give the symbiotic a little bioengineered upgrade package (put together with the symbiote's help and collaboration of course) instead of messing with external solutions.
>>
>>26926199
He looks pretty cool, at least. Much more feral and savage-looking than the standard symbiote. We'd get some neat fights from him, if nothing else.

Clearly NYC needs a new police unit trained specifically to deal with people with special abilities. Basically, a new paramilitary group based off of Shield with limited access to Richards tech and boosted humans/powered people on the pay roll. Just make sure it has a tightly written, very narrow mandate and sufficient resources to do the job.

I was the one who originally suggested that. Becoming Galactus would solve the problem of Uncle Ben's inevitable death, also because the comic page is funny.

While the idea itself is funny, becoming Galactus would effectively end Peter Parker Quest and maybe start up Galactus Quest instead.

So, how much fellowship do people want to upgrade. It is currently at 14. Bonuses only increase at even numbers and which, if any other talents/powers would people be interested in.

>After Webslinger and Engineer, that leaves8 points left!

Hey, are we archived? I have trouble archiving from my phone.

>>
>>26928682

>>
>>26928738
Detectiving would be really useful, especially since we have a serial killer gunning for us...I guess I just want spider sense too much to make the smart play. But then detective plus +1 to fellowship seems like an almost fair trade...
>>
>>26928595
>Webslinger 4
>Fellowship 15 (1) 16 (2) 3
>Engineer 3
>Spider Sense 5

15 points used.

or

>Webslinger 4
>Fellowship 15 (1) 16 (2) 3
>Engineer 3
>Tutor 3

Leaving 2 points

or

>Webslinger 4
>Fellowship 15 (1) 16 (2) 3
>Engineer 3
>Stealthy 3

Also leaving 2 points.

Or we can drop Fellowship in favor for something else. (Free's up three points).

I think my math is right...
>>
>>26920588
>Engineer: -3
>Stealthy: -3
>Webslinger: -4
>+1 Fellowship: -1
>+2 Constitution: -4
I'm going to repeat my suggestion, which leaves us at 0, but rounds us out a little more.
>>
>>26928799
>Detective
>+1 to Fellowship
I'm ok with this
>>
>>26928917
>>+1 Fellowship: -1
>>+2 Constitution: -4

But those do nothing to our rolls. We would need to wait for another arc to end to up those again...

>Bonuses only increase at even numbers
>>
>>26928650
please
>>
>>26928810
>Webslinger 4
>Fellowship 15 (1) 16 (2) 3
>Engineer 3
>Spider Sense 5

I'll go with this, personally.
>>
>>26928595
Wait, am I misreading this, or is webslinger only applicable during combat or when we're under a lot of stress? Can we travel in general without rolling already, or do we hope fore the best right now?

Thanks as sorry for the confusion on my part...
>>
>>26928959
True for Fellowship (which is only a gimmie because otherwise we'd be at 1 point), but Toughness (not Constitution) gives us HP equal to 2x our Toughness, and by bumbing it 2 it goes from 12 to 14 which is a +1 to the modifier.
>>
ummm.....Wild Webslinging Wonder?
>>
Oh, missed the fact that voting hadn't been called yet. I think I'm gonna offer some slightly different votes from the mainstream though.

-Webcrafter (-4)
-Webslinger (-4)
-Fellowship x2 (-2)
-Spider sense (-5)
>>
>>26929049
>and bumbing it 2 it goes from 12 to 14 which is a +1 to the modifier.

I missed read how many points for tier three would have taken, oops. But still I think those four(five dropping fellowship) points can be better severed else where for time being.
>>
>>26928996
this seems to be a good idea
>>
>>26928810
>Webslinger 4
>Fellowship 15 (1) 16 (2) 3

this

>>26929221

>>
>>26929153
Although I might have miscalculated, depending on whether going from 15->16 takes one point or two. If two, then I'll switch out Spider sense for an extra two intelligence.

General stat points are frankly more useful to get than specific bonuses unless we have specific things we're going to be using them for.
>>
Alright, compiling votes now, will update the pastebin later.

So, as an arc has ended, I allow people to ask a question and I answer the majority's question, though sometimes I opt out from answering if its plot important.
