"No, nothing like that. I planned on looking into the matter regarding murders on my own, just wanted to check if you knew anything about this. Anyway I wanted to made sure you know of these murders and rumors before you had to ask me yourself." you tell Marina.

“Well it would save me the sigh then asking of you if you had gone out in the town drunk in your shadow form.” Marina replies.

“Oh perish the thought!” You tell Marina. “Anyways that is all I needed to discuss with you.”

“Very well, nearly just in time for me to officially gain control of Fort Hope.” Ada says, looking out over the town with a satisfied sigh. While you admit that you do not like Ada’s reason of taking over Fort Hope just because she simply wants to rule the town, she is certainly better than Langy ever was.

“Will you be coming in?” you ask Marina.

“...Hm? O-Oh yes, I’ll be coming back inside in a minute. Just... Spending some time to enjoy myself is all.” Marina replies. “I trust you’ll be ready for the show down in the bunker?”

“Most definitely, I made sure my reserves are topped for such a thing.” you tell Marina.

“Good. That’d be it then. You can head on inside, I’ll be there momentarily.” Marina says as she returns her gaze out over the town.

As you head in, you notice that you still have some time left in this proper gala. Amanda still appears to be busy chatting with some higher ups, only this time teamed up with Stacy herself. Katlin is nearby Stacy appearing to be somewhat bored as she sips wine at a nearby table. Leona still appears to be talking with her friends, but a few young nobles appear to be courting her for a dance. The inspectors themselves appear to be in a rather tight knit group up near the front of the ball, near dining tables for the high nobles. Most of their eyes appear to be gazing the crowd, but you are unsure if they appear to be scanning for something in particular or if they are just bored.

You decide to head on over to see how Amanda and Stacy are doing in more detail.

“That’s before the Richardson’s managed to team up with the Nitorin family my good sir.” Stacy replies, wearing a green dress and a wide smile. “Compared to the McMatterson family, you’d be saving about 2 coppers per *liter* of water.”

“...2 coppers per liter?” another interested noble asks.

“Indeed!” Amanda says reaching into her purse, handing the men what appears to be old world business cards with spirographs on them. “These are our cards! If you have any questions, then feel free to meet up with any one of us!”

The man looks at the card for a few seconds, almost looking puzzled as he does so. “...Will do... Will do...” he says muttering to himself as he walks off.

“Like taking candy from a baby.” Stacy says with a smirk to Amanda.

“More like buying out the entire store.” Amanda then adds.

“A few nobles are quite worried about what it means for them, so we’re taking advantage of the... new openings in the market caused by panicked nobles.” Stacy explains.

“Close. The McMatterson’s are a caravan company. They’re extremely popular within Ontario province.” Stacy says.

“They don’t deal in water in particular, but rather sell it to many of the outlying communities by purchasing the water from other traders or providing a safe caravan to travel along.” Amanda states. “But the problem with Fort Hope is that all of the traders within Fort Hope charge a lot for nearly anything further than some of the minor outlaying communities, mainly due to the weather problems this far up north.”

“We simply plan to undercut the McMatterson’s, which should be easy since we Amanda and I have worked out a water deal.” Stacy replies.

“It is peace of mind to know that we are protected from bandits and other monsters of the North or even inter-city conflicts, but that’s also a mixed blessing.” Amanda says.

“We were wondering when we were planning on heading to Old TO actually.” Amanda asks. “I’m excited about travelling to the city, ripe with opportunities.”

You seem to be on fire tonight, as not only does your tongue seem to spill honey out to feed some of the noble girls, they appear almost all too eager to lap it up. After a dance with a few of them, you have a few young girls who are more than willing to dance with you, and just as many who are very impressed by your dancing skills. You tell them that you’re more than capable of using magic in more mundane fashions too.

The ceremony of Ada herself getting appointed as ruler of Fort Hope is... well rather long winded from the both of them. You are always seemingly amazed at how anyone who works directly with the Pride demons can hold all that hot air into them without bursting wide open.

After the crowning in of itself, the investigators ask Marina to take them to the bunker and show them the report, taking you along with them since the castle doesn’t have an official mechanic or Engineer and you’re the person qualified. In actuality it’s because you and Ada had been preparing for this.

Neither of you want that robot junked, as it could certainly prove to be a potent playing piece later on. So what you did was lace a bunch of empty boxes and crates around the cargo bay while carefully setting up some runes in the mech ahead of time. Just before the Investigators enter the room, you activate the spell which puts scaffolding over the robot while filling the crates with fictional parts one would expect from a giant robot.

It appears to go fairly well, though you nearly have a heart attack when one Inspector picks up a piece of junk. Thankfully he doesn’t think much of it and tosses it back into the crate. Instead of a ‘Thank you’, the Investigator merely tells Marina that she should’ve had this done long ago, to make sure that the ‘horrors’ from the ‘Dark World’ can never again trouble man. You’re not surprised if the man even suggested tearing down the Fort Hope wall because it too was from the ‘Dark World’.

To make such a large and detailed illusion certainly did hit your aether pools, but in the end it was worth it.

You and Marina head back to the party once again afterwards. It’s starting to get late, so most of the people are now beginning to leave. You can try to do some other things at the ball or just call it a night.

You spend some time finally cracking down on that book the twins gave you. While you admit the basics are not mind blowingly impressive, they do seem useful in their own right with the next level being a fairly big leap in of itself. Not only that, but you feel that conquering this book has further enriched yourself to the possibilities of aetheric theory in general.

To prepare for Old TO in general, you begin to gather all of the girls in preparation for it. Amazingly enough, Sebastien himself agrees to tag along with you, claiming he can get some information sources while there himself for various... things. Leona herself appears to be more than happy to have Erika along with the trip.

“...So you’re telling me she learned how to fly just like that while you crashed into the lake?” Erika asks you in the tavern as you discuss the story of learning how to fly.

“It took me nearly a half hour to learn basic after that...” you mutter into the drink.

“Brooklyn... Join the club.” Erika says patting you on the back. “I remember when we first tried ice skating. I was sliding all over the rink and crashing about, but Leona... Well after she fell down once she never tripped the entire time.”

“...Ouch...” you say.

“Then she... applied for a figure skating contest later that year and got accepted...” Erika then mutters.

“YEA! DON’T STOP CUZ... REASONS!” Brodin drunkenly says next to you.

The rest of gathering goes a bit more smoothly. Stacy and Amanda show you their own little underground building area in Fort Hope, bought from an abandoned house. Even before you leave they have only managed to get what appears to be a furnace into it, but you’re quite impressed with how Stacy is progressing with her own powers. Amanda seems to be showing amazing promise as well, as she seemed to have created what is a personal force field device from just plain old junk she bought from scavenge shops around the market.

Your personal friends are a bit sad to see you go on an extended trip, but they understand the reasons because of your new job. Before you do leave, you do hold that one game you had been reading up about, something called X-COM.

Brodin himself appears to be sad to go back to work... or at least a week after his boss left. He claimed that his boss did such a great job that there is almost no undead or spiritual problems left in Fort Hope. He agrees to come with you, but you think he’s only doing it to have an excuse to dodge work longer...

As a precaution, you summon a messenger Imp to the castle, figuring that such a ritual is safe enough to use around mortals. You tell Royal Guard Captain or Linda to use him in case anything in Fort Hope goes horribly wrong.

Sure enough, the day comes when you’re all ready to travel to Fort Hope. Amanda herself loads up a wagon with ‘sample products’ then has her family hire a squad of mercenaries. She claimed her family said she was crazy, but Amanda hopes to prove them wrong. You and Marina travel into the royal cart area along with Leona. Amanda and the twins go in Amanda’s kart. Brodin, Sebastien, Erika, and the Adventurers travel in the mercenary cart. Once the ripe time of 9 AM, the caravan sets forth towards Old TO.

“Oh and there’s books and tea to buy in the marketplace too!” you say trying to lighten up the mood.

As the trip goes on, you can see why you were thankful of bringing as many books as you have. You’ve only been on a major roadtrip like this once before, and that was a long time ago which you can barely remember the trip. Which is good as most of the time it’s just endless white snow dunes. The few forests you pass through are however breathtaking in of themselves, allowing you appreciate the finer beauty the world contains in of itself. Your nights are spent mingling with the crowd, getting to know everyone just a little bit better as you talk to everyone. Stops in towns however are by far more rowdy, with some wild parties within the local inns. While it was somewhat humorous to see Erika sloshed, you encourage the rest of the girls to be careful to avoid any... accident. Be it a new corpse or accidently getting knocked up, but Mina said that only happens to REALLY drunk Succubi.

“Are we there yet?” Mina asks.

“No.” Marina replies.

“Are we there yet?” Mina asks.

“No.” Marina replies.

“No...” Marina’s tone starts to get a little annoyed.

“Hey Ada.” Mina says.

“WHAT!?” Marina replies crushing a cup in her hands.

Marina’s entire face appears to go red and opens her mouth to give Mina what appears to be a verbal smackdown when...

“Everyone! We’ve arrived at Old TO!” the driver of the caravan calls out down the line.

As if on cue, everyone in the wagon opens up their windows in order to gaze outside. What head of you can only be described as still standing ruins of the Old World, towering above the street to make you appear as an ant, but beautiful and awe-inspiring in of themselves for the tower of lights not only it, but nearly several dozen other buildings appear to be. The husks of the buildings themselves still appearing to be functional after all these years. Approaching the city, you can see that things still appear to be lively down on the street. Buildings made out of old world scrap pieces, but done so with amazing craftsmanship as street vendors still appear to be selling their wares admist hanging lanterns. Dozens upon dozens of smells seem to assault your nose as your caravan travels down the street, a small group of dwarves seeming to inspect the wheels on Amanda’s wagon.

“Customized by yours truly.” Amanda says with a smirk as she notices the dwarves looking at the wheels of her wagon.

Eventually the wagon comes to a stop in what appears to be a section of town reserved for the Nitorin family caravan. You’re more than eager to step outside, noticing the slightly warmer temperature compared to Fort Hope, but you don’t care as right now you’re overjoyed just to be outside.

“Oh man... It’s so nice to be able to stretch myself once more...” you say bending back, a few cricks being heard in your spine.

“Yes! It’s been so long since I was able to let my traits out freely!” Mina replies, only dressed in her chongasm and her demonic traits out.

“...Mina isn’t that dangerous?” you ask her.

“No one cares Brooklyn.” Marina says as she points down the street.

“STAND UP AND FIGHT AGAINST INEQUALITY!” One Succubus says holding up a sign saying “Succubi are demons too!”

“NEARLY 400 YEARS OF INJUSTICE AGAINST SUCCUBI! JOIN US IN OUR RALLY AND GET A FREE MASSAGE AT STACY’S!” Another Succubi says holding a sign up that appears to be an advertisement.

A third one seems to be sitting in between them both, lost in her old little world as she reads a book, hat in between her legs for collecting coins.

“Get a life.” a man with a soot stained uniform says as he walks past the group.

“...Uh...” you say staring at the scene.

“Now come on Brooklyn, you’re going to need to direct these morons on where to put the things you brought up from Fort Hope.” Marina tells you.

“...Coming.” you say as you walk off with Marina and the rest of the girls.

It doesn’t take that long for you to get your packages tucked away, as it was nearly the last things loaded so it was one of the first few off. A few of Doctor Gaterkin’s accelerated healing potions, magical spell components, and of course your tea set.

Speaking of tea, you begin to get a bit thirsty yourself, so you head back to the royal wagon and begin to heat the fireplace up for boiling water. You could use magic to boil it yes, but some things in this world aren’t meant to be touched by magic.

As you wait for the fire to build up, you notice the three Succubi outside. They still appear to be picketing, but soon enough you see them stare in a direction down the road before fleeing in terror. You wonder why this is the case, before you suddenly realize an extremely elaborate wagon coming down the street, guarded by no less than six of those brutes that were guarding Blizzarios. This isn’t any ordinary wagon, this is a Pride Demon’s wagon.

You then notice it stops directly aside the picketing area, the only Succubus being there still is the one absorbed in her book. You turn on your aether sight to see what appears to be a Pride Demon in green armor, strolling out down the wagon. His aura is a bit larger than Blizzarios’s as grey hair seems to flow behind him, his hooves making heavy sounding impacts against the stairs of his wagon before finally coming down. As if that wasn’t enough, another one in red armor and brown hair comes down after him. Both are nearly as tall as Blizzarios, seeming to tower over most mortal men with ease. The one in green armor is admitting what appears to be a bright red aura (anger).

The book reading Succubi takes a few seconds to notice her light source as been blocked, but when she does look up and see the large Pride Demon, her aura immediately changes to a deep orange (fear) colour.

You’re too far away to hear a small exchange, but it is then the green armored Pride Demon kicks the Succubus looking up at him. You gasp in horror as he seems to continue kicking her in the stomach even when she’s down. What do notice about the Succubus though is that she now appears to be enveloped in some sort of shield, a glowing sphere of light blue energy that stands out plain as day to aether sight.

“Enough Daven!” the Pride Demon in red armor and glasses says, holding back the fist of the green armored one. “You should’ve stopped when you saw that shield! It isn’t worth enraging the Fighter’s Guild over something like this!”

“You mean the Belkarian dojo!” The Green one snaps.

“Who have ties with the Ashurans, and if you keep this up they’ll be making sure that we’ll never be able to hire mercenaries from them ever again!” The Red one replies to him.

The green armored one stares at him for a few seconds before taking his hand back out of his grip, mumbling something to the Red armored one before heading back onto the wagon and riding off.

As you look back at the fallen Succubus on the ground, you can tell with your aether sight that she’s still alive at least, but that was a fairly serious beating she took, shield or no.

Head over to her with Mina, see how she's doing, see if she's still conscious. If she's conscious help her over to our wagon, make sure she gets medical care, make tea, and get her some tea and once she's feeling a bit better we can ask some questions about what happened. If she's unconscious bring her over, give her somewhere to lie down and get fixed up, probably by Leona.

On another note, how big was the Red Pride Demon's Aura in comparison to the Green one's.

“MINA! NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE!” you call out to Mina as you rush over to the Succubus on the ground.

You look down over her and notice that she does indeed have some fairly serious injuries in of themselves, and you can tell that with only a bit of medical training. Blood is coming out of both her mouth and nose. From the force of those kicks, you’re probably pretty sure that her ribs are broken as well.

“Hey Brooklyn! What’s u OH GOD!” Mina says noticing you kneeling next to a wounded Succubi.

“Mina! Pick her up gently and bring her back to the cabin!” you instruct Mina.

“Is she going to be alright!?” Mina asks as she gently kneels down to pick up the Succubus.

“I’m not sure! We may be able to save her if we move fast! I’m going to get Leona! Her healing abilities should help out here!” you tell Mina.

Heading over to fetch Leona and asking her to help an injured anyone is a fairly easy thing to do. It only takes Leona placing her hands on the Succubus’s bruised stomach accompanied by a soft silvery sort of light to begin the healing process. You can actually hear some of the bones within her body crack and snap back to normal before Leona takes her hands away.

“T-That’s it for now...” Leona says taking her hands away.

“Will she be alright?” Mina asks Leona.

“I-I don’t know. I only used my healing powers to address small cuts and burns Amanda took when building things.” Leona states. “But why’d such a demon do such a thing!?”

“Pride demons like being in charge.” Mina says with contempt.

“I think she just needs some rest for now.” you tell the girls as you put a moist cloth on the Succubus head.

So you, Leona, and Mina begin to relax and wait to see if the Succubus will come to later in the night. Mina seems to pace back and forth while Leona just seems to fidget endlessly in a worried posture.

“Uh...” the Succubus moans after a few hours.

“Oh! You’re awake!” Mina says in an excited tone as she walks over to the Succubus.

“Where... am I?” the Succubus asks as she takes off the moist towel and rubs her forehead.

The Succubus looks down at herself, giving a few pokes at her ribs. “Hm... I think they are fine, but they’re still a bit tender.” she says in a monotone voice, her face only making a slight wince from some pain. Looking over her, you can see that her hair is a pitch black color cut fairly short while her eyes are a soft brown.

“Oh! You’re an Okarian!” Mina says clapping her hands.

“Was it that obvious?” she asks in the same monotone voice.

“I’m... sorry if I couldn’t heal it completely.” Leona says apologizing to the Okarian.

“No. If anything I am extremely happy that I got some kind of treatment.” the Okarian says in a monotone voice.

“...Really?” Leona asks, confused by the complete lack of emotion in her voice.

“Yes I am. Why do you ask such a thing.” the Okarian asks, but the tone makes it sound more like a statement.

“Okarian, your tone.” Mina points out.

The Okarian looks at Mina for a few seconds, her face appearing to be somewhat of blank before something seems to click. “Panicked. Apologies, I did not mean to confuse you. Worried, I hope you are not offended by my lack of manners.”

As to the Lord thing, while I think that when the queens are freed, others can be made Lords with the help of a few Ley Line Condensers, I don't think there's an easy way to do this due to the Aether requirements (the Queens didn't even try again for a few CENTURIES after their imprisonment, and who knows how much Aether they had saved before-hand).

I want to use Miyan armour, as a so far downsides of Amanda's inventions have shown to be relatively minor. Plus, The Miyan armor will boost Light and Dark, which is much more important than Boosting water, since we don't use that anyway. we might even be able to off set the flaws with the Magic... eg; the Miyan aspect creates a 'doll' around the user providing sensory feedback to the extent of feeling as though it was always a part of the users body. Flaw; white doll appearence. Okarian aspect - Light Solidogram - Covers the doll in a 'skin' similar to that of the users and 'colours' the dolls other parts (such as eyes, partial interiors such as the mouth...)

would probably make it one hell of a power drain, both electrically and aetherically, but has the potential to get Lamians as close to having adult bodies as possible...

“Unless you’re from the church of Pamille. No one touches people from the church.” Wilhelmina says. “You won’t be attacked, but at the same time you won’t get much done.”

“How did this all get started anyways?” you ask as you sip your tea.

“I think... It was shortly after the Pride Demons took over Earth and split it into the continents, they attacked the Succubi races and drove them into Old TO. Back then Old TO had real population problems, especially when food sources for the Succubi started to fracture. While Old TO was considered the capital for Succubi back in the day, Okarians always had a stronger than normal grip. Some races accused the Okarians of favoritism, but the Miyians were the most vocal as the Okarians seemed to bend to the Pride Demon’s moreso than others in an effort to preserve culture aspects, but at the same time destroying Miyian research centers. It then started during a Miyian protest when a demon Lord belonging to the Okarians attempted to make a speech for peace. I’m... unsure what happened then, but the final chain of events lead to the Okarian Demon Lord getting killed by a Miyian Death Ray. This enraged the Okarians, who took it as a declaration of war.” Wilhelmina says. “I’m not from Old TO though, and I was born... way after all of this took place.”

“Then over time the flames of hatred spread over both clans...” Leona says.

“Exactly. Since then there have been a lot of Okarian and Miyian splinter clans, but the Okarians control the east side of Old TO and the Miyians the West side.” Wilhelmina says.

“Most other clans don’t want anything to do with this. Pride Demon Peacekeeper forces work to suppress any sort of gang related activity. But since the Miyian and Okarian heads ‘officially’” Wilhelmina uses her fingers to point out the sarcasm. “say nothing is going on in between them, the Pride Demons cannot move in to attack the main headquarters. Laminians, Ayarians, Gemelli, and Belkarians remain neutral in this, but the Aides have always seemed to give some sort of covert support to the Okarians. Since I’m not attuned to Miyian politics, I’m not sure any private backers they may have.”

“What can you tell me about Okarian and Miyian leadership over here?" you ask.

“I never paid much attention to the Miyian view, but I know that the current ruler, some say unofficial Queen, of the Okarians is one of the late Queen Oksana’s daughters.” Wilhelmina says.

You can never have too many Shadowruns. Besides, I'm not entirely sure the Pride Demons would want to mess with the current status quo. Sure make it look like they're dealing with this sort of thing for public opinion and whatnot, but in reality they want the Miyians and Okarians to be at each other's throats instead of working together towards anything.

If you keep them bickering with each other they're easier to control and subjugate.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if the "Miyian Death Ray" was made by Sloth Demons and used by a Pride Demon in order to set all of this off. The Miyians were very vocal about being against the Pride Demons and not kowtowing to them, having the Okarians keep them down for them would be a lot easier than doing it themselves.

I don’t know much else as many of the Okarians at the library won’t talk about her.” Wilhelmina replies. “But back to Wendy... I’ve never actually talked to her. I’ve sat in one of her lectures once and often see her reading in the library. I was hoping to apply to be one of her bodyguards, but you need something like... 15 years experience. She’s also the only one to approve non-Okarians into the library.”

“Non-Okarians can enter the library?” you ask.

“Yes, but it is very, very rare she allows this. She only did it recently to allow a Gemelli pair to be a part of her bodyguard group.” Wilhelmina replies.

Mina is fairly easy. I based her looks heavily on Nanako, sans she appears to be older (so most likely a bit taller, but generally has a youthful appearance). Picture is of Nanako from VH.

Sebastien himself has two. First is his armor, which is basically the ranger armor from New Vegas, but outside his armor he appears to be an old man who generally tries to shave (make sure his mask fits), and still has a head of very shaggy hair despite it being white. He has brown eyes, and is quite old.

I’m a Belkarian so that place is like my home base to me!” Mina says, before she begins to chuckle. “I remember when I first came here and I hardly knew any English whatsoever, it wasn’t until some people from the warrior guild helped introduce me to the city, gave me a few jobs where I didn’t need that much English, and other things.”

Wilhelmina’s aura turns to a Dark Green upon hearing this (envy). “Curious, where you any good in the fighting rankings?”

Mina seems to think for a few seconds before making a ‘so-so’ expression with her pinkie and thumb while the other hand sips tea. “I was no where NEAR the level of the top, but I was certainly able to hold my own.”

Wilhelmina’s aura turns into a dark green (envy) and deep red (desire) mix. “...Happy. I’m glad that you made it like that.”

Wilhelmina’s aura switches back and forth between violet (joy) and silver (sad). In fact you call tell her emotional state without the aura sight because tears are coming out her eyes even though her poker face is still on.

It’s then it seems the mask that Wilhelmina has on her face begins to crack. A few face twitches can be seen before she begins to sniffle, and finally begins to crack. Streams of tears begin to fall down her face before she suddenly begins to cry.

Except its not just a title. Demon Lords supposedly have faster power growth than normal Succubi. So its not just "I AM SUPER SPESHUL" so much as it is "Yeah, I can probably pick up stuff faster than normal, just a heads up". Could potentially make us a more worthwhile asset to befriend and help for the established succubi clans. Help them warm upto us, since we're not just random Okarian #357.

Except we're walking into a minefield where we don't know who to trust. I empathize with Hel, but I doubt Brooklyn cares about her more then Mina + Ada + the Twins + Amanda + Erika + Leona combined. And the Queens.

Then there's the fact that Demon Lords don't just APPEAR. We're on a SECRET mission to break the queens out of their hiding place/prison, and revealing that we've been empowered by an unknown source is a really great way to stop that.
