Your name is Scarlet Crocker. You are the young Commander of the Zarth Self-Defense Forces. After destroying an infestation of Vagan-Anti Infantry and Infiltration Robots known as “Anansi” you returned to your office to chill out and get some coffee when you’re secretary and aunt Rysis informed you a mobile suit was stumbling towards the base, piloted by her drunken boyfriend Travis Touchdown.

“Rysissssssssssssssssssssssssss!” Travis bellows over the speakers of his mobile suit, coming ever closer and closer to the base.

“Does he do this a lot?” You quickly ask as you consider your options.

“Yeah but usually he’s too drunk to get the suit moving.” Rysis states, saving your from coffee cup from falling onto the floor due to the tremors.

You have limited time before Travis barrels into the base with that suit of his. He’s not aggressive or evil, just too shitfaced to realize what he’s doing. He appears to be piloting some kind of customized Shaldoll. Your own mobile suit is too damaged to take out, but there are plenty of other suits on base. Still, you don’t necessarily have to handle this yourself, you could send the trainees to try and subdue to the drunken Travis, or you could just send Rysis out to talk with him.

>Send the Trainees out in their Training Genoaces to see what they can do
>Send Rysis out to take care of Travis

Tell Rysis to prepare a room for him or something, we don't want him shitting up the base while drunk.

Tell Rysis to prepare him a bed, Romary to get him some medicine or some coffee, whatever, and get into an Adele or something we have around. Tell the others to move out of the way. He's drunk, who knows how he'll react to anything being in his path right now, and we don't want to have our men hurt because of his drunk driving.

> Go out and take care of Travis yourself with a spare suit.
As much as you'd like to see what the trainees could do, you decide it'll be safer to go out yourself and handle things. Before leaving you tell Rysis to get a room ready for Travis, you don't want him crapping up the base. Romary leaves to get some coffee and Asprin while you rush to the hanger and climb into one of the Genoace Trainers.

Starting it up you find it doesn't have anything besides a shield and a blunt baton. It's lighter and much faster then a normal Genoace, but that's probably because it doesn't really have all that much armor on it.

Moving out of the hanger you head around back to where Travis is and get between him and the base.

"Travis? Could you please stop, you're kind of causing a mess." You ask politely, causing the drunken MS to stop in it's tracks.

"Who the hell are you? Where's Rysis? I need to speak with herrr..." Travis slurs, his mobile suit swaying back and forth.

"I'm Commander Scarlet Crocker, Rysis is inside, why don't you just come on out and I'll take you to her?"

"You're with the Federation? Bah, you lying pig! I'll carve you up for what you bastards did to Arthur!" Travis raises the bladed arm of his Shaldoll, ready to attack.

How do you want to handle this Scarlet? You only have a simple shield and a blunt baton to fight with.
>>
>>26841797
Avoid and dodge. He's drunk, he'll stumble and flail around.
Make him fall over away from the base to minimize the damage.

Also, Arthur? What do you know, Travis?

He's piloting 3D Maneuver Gear Shaldoll? Amazing. Though I am a bit disappointed that he's not piloting Glastonbury.

Anyway, we have his attention. Let's bait him away from the base. He might be the Tiger in Disguise, but he's REALLY drunk. I think we can keep from getting hurt while we lead him away.

Goddamn that Genoace.
That's a double heat katana, with what I assume are either grappling hooks or some weapon generators. And some advanced armor, with some extra bits on the shoulders - maybe a flash system or something. Don't let him see the Samurai Adele we made, he'll lose his shit over it and we'll end up with something covered in blades.
>>
>>26842172
The Samurai Adele is still safe over on the moon. For given values of safe, given that the Ghirarga's running around up there. Still, you have a point. We can never let Travis use the AGE Builder, he will make only nightmares with it.
>>
>>26842348
I don't know, I imagine a mobile suit that transforms into a flying tiger covered in fire would be a pretty bitching thing to have around. It'd be a nightmare to put down once he gets drunk again, though.
>>
>>26841864
>>26842081
>>26842172
You move away from the base to avoid any damages as Travis rushes you. He swings his odd katana and you fire the Genoace's thrusters, boost jumping out of his reach. Travis stumbles but he quickly recovers and sets after you, swinging his blade wildly.

He may be drunk off his ass, and it's obvious his reaction time and balance have gone to shit but he's still really fucking fast. All you can do is hop around, dodging his swings, it doesn't help that his katana has a larger reach then yours.

You had hoped Travis would just crash his mobile suit by now, but it appears that isn't going to be the case. You need a find a way to floor Travis and fast, before you lands a hit on you.

What do you wish to do Scarlet?
>>
>>26842958
Use your shield. Let him lunge at you, block with the shield, get inside his reach and use your baton on his knees. Make him kneel.
Meanwhile, try to talk to him, remind him that this is his favorite niece he's attacking.
>>
>>26842958
Attack the joints of his suit, knock him down so we can go for a pin. Can mobile suits be put in a full nelson?
>>
You know, we should call Rysis to tell us what the hell to expect from this thing, what's it armed with and what tricks does it have up its sleeves.
>>
>>26843038
>>26843141
You decide to try and use your shield to get inside his reach and attack the joints of his suit. If you damage his legs his mobility will go in the toilet.

"Hey Travis you know me! At the very least you've had to have heard of me from Rysis! I'm not one of the bad guys!" you say, trying to distract him as you find an opening.

"Your face is going to look like the bad guys when I'm through with it!" Travis lunges forward and...

You use the Training Genoace's shield to block Travis's lunge, but the odd Katana slices through it like it wasn't even there. Still, you manage to get in close enough to strike the joints of his Shaldoll's left leg. You manage to get in three precise blows before you're forced to boost backwards to suffer damage to the arm.

The Training Genoace's shield is now super heated scrap metal, but you appear to have damaged Travis's suit.

"Travis, you're making less sense then you usually do, even you should know you're way to drunk by now." You state as the leg of the Shaldoll gives out, sparks flying from the damaged joint.

"Gah, fucking whatever. Just take me to see Rysis, OK?" Travis mutters, before the sound of what is probably vomiting fills the commlink.

Ewwwww, you're not cleaning that up. Dragging Travis's suit to the hanger you set it down and allow him to crawl out. He's taken to the 'Drunk Room' by Romary and Rysis.

After helping clean things up (besides Travis's puke) Rysis comes to talk with you.

"Sorry about that, he gets out of hand when he drinks. He's normally a pretty OK guy, when he's not being drunk, weird, or rambling about some crazy nonsense." Rysis states as she gets you a cup of coffee.

"Nah it's no problem. What did he want to talk to you about?" You ask, sipping your delicious brew.

"I couldn't understand him, he's too drunk. He should sober up later, when he does I'll let you know. Oh and here's the resent reports and such." Rysis hands you over a clip board. Back to work...

Did the supplies needed for the sub-offices and labs arrive? If they did, let's reequip those things and have our men get to work.

Let's call Madorna and get his help.
>>
>>26843787
(Oops, Arnold shouldn't be unknown. You guys already talked with him and asked him to help train your troops. He's a huge Health and Fitness buff)

>>26843818
The office and lab supplies are due soon, but they haven't arrived yet.

1-Count to call Madorna
>>
>>26843803
I forget, what was the deal with the arms dealers? What blueprints do we owe them?

As for the mobile suits, we've got a spare AGE Builder, now. In addition to Madorna, we can build some suits of our own. We should work on that.
>>
>>26843936
Hogan called the arms dealers over. He merely said you wanted to buy from them. What you get will depend on what blueprints you'll have to fork over.

You have three AGE Builders now so your production capability is now increased. What suits do you wish to make? You could make more Training Genoaces, or you could start producing Adeles for the upcoming battle with the Vagans.

You have 10 mobile suits to train your troops at this point, despite the fact you have 100 pilots being trained. Not having enough suits is hurting their training.
>>
>>26843936
We don't owe them nothing, yet. I guess Hogan called them to get us some ammo, mines and black market tech, and we'll have to pay them with blueprints. That said, we probably should start upgrading and developing our own suits, because I'm pretty sure everyone's going to be running around in Adeles and who knows what else.

We also have that favor from Arnold (the other one) about geological information. I guess we should call in that at one moment.

>>26843996
Can we get Jake and Daiki with one AGE builder to work on creating Adele Mk 2 later on?
>>
>>26843996
Let's make 15 more Genoaces for training. That way, our guys will have 4 groups to train with instead of 10.
Then call Madorna to get over here - tell him Tim called, it's time for him to repay that favor.
>>
>>26844188
Actually, make that 40 Genoaces.
We'll have 2 groups to train per day (50 each) and they can split into teams of 25 and fight each other.
>>
>>26844281
40 Training Genoaces will take about 16 hours to produce with all three AGE Builders running full speed. Still, it'll keep the troops training and practicing. These new suits and the addition of the MS Training course will greatly improve their training.

You put the engineers to work and decide to give Arnold a call.

"Hey Arnold? Remember that favor Madorna owes you? Well I think it might be time to call it in..."

"Alright, but I think he'll want to talk with you." Arnold calls Madorna and patches you through.

After explaining your situation and the danger the colonies are in, Madorna agrees to help especially after hearing about the suits piloted by Daiki's friends, suits he supposedly made...

Madorna Workshop Arrival-14 hours
Training Genoaces x40- 16 hours

What do you wish to do now Scarlet? The supplies your father ordered should be here within an hour or so.
>>
>>26844465
It's Tim. Arnold owes us geological data.
Actually, let's see what that's about. Can he give us some good mining locations, or additional resources, or some strategic advantage?
>>
>>26844487
(Doh!, Sorry, that's what I meant. You know me and names)

After turning down Tim's offer to show of his artistic abilities by painting a mural on your suit, you call up Arnold and hit him up for that geological data.

"Well the surrounding area doesn't have a lot of resources. Most of asteroids and such were brought here and mined out to build the colonies. I don't think they have a lot to offer in terms of minerals, but they're pretty damn hard and a lot of them are hollow. If you wanted too you could probably fill them with explosives or strap engines to them to crash them into Vagan ships. The tests I've run suggest they can take a lot of abuse from beam weapons." Arnold explains, forwarding the data to you, which you don't understand very well.

What do you think about this Scarlet?
>>
>>26844729
Could they be modified so that our troops can hide in them and use them for cover? Place some suits with snipers and bazookas inside the hollowed asteroids and watch the Vagan squirm. Throw some engines on them as well, in case we need to abandon ground we'll crash them into the enemy ships. If so, have somebody get on it, and fast.
>>
>>26844826
Absolutely, modifying them would be pretty easy and attaching the engines wouldn't be too hard. Once your engineers get some spare time, they'll fly out and get to work. Shouldn't take too long.

>Asteroid Cover/Ship Busters-6 Hours

After putting more people to work the office and scientific supplies FINALLY arrives. Unloading and delivering the stuff, you help to set up the office and get everything organized.

While putting the lab together Dr. Halsey approaches you.

“Due to the time constraints placed on us, we only have enough time to get one major project done before the Vagans arrive and even with all of us working our asses off that’s a stretch. You’ll have to decide on what you want us to work on." Dr. Halsey explains.

Well Scarlet? What do you think the Lab should work on?
> Have Halsey continue her work on the G-Force Tolerance Serum
>Task the Researchers with developing Artificial X-Rounder implants.
>Other
>>
>>26844975
Do we have Zeheart's old suit around?
Would analyzing and developing a coating resistant to its beam damage count as a project for Dr Halsey or Jake? I'm guessing Jake because it's more engineering than actually researching. If so, have them continue their work on the G-Force Tolerance Serum. Maybe she could talk with Arnold (Hogan's son) and get a fresh perspective on things.
>>
>>26845044
You still have the "Zeydra" lying around. Assigning Dad and Daiki to make a stronger Anti-Beam Coating from it's weapons would benefit your troops if you could make a lot of it. The suit is very much intact and a few people are interested in having it modified for their own use. However your father explains that he doesn't know how long it will take to make.

>Anti-Beam Coating Enhancement Project- ? Hours
>Asteroid Cover/Ship Busters-6 Hours
>Madorna Workshop Arrival-14 hours
>Training Genoaces x40- 16 hours

After getting a lot of work done you go to talk to Arnold for a bit.

(cont)
>>
>>26845322
You find him running a lot of the trainees through drills and exercises, as well as making sure none of the trainees are sneaking donuts from the mess hall. After asking to talk with him, he gives the trainees a short break and goes off to chat with you.

"So how are things coming?" You ask.

"A lot of the trainees are out of shape. Most are fresh out of high school and their eating habits are terrible. With five days they should be a bit better though" Arnold frowns and looks to the false sky above your heads head "I don't think we have as much time as we think."

"What do you mean?"

"It seems unlikely the Vagans would miss the fact we've learned when they plan to assult Big Ring. I believe they might pull it off sooner and try to catch us off guard." Arnold sighs and shakes his head in a worried manner.

"My father may be a pirate, but he's still a good man. He's helping you because he knows without our help you'd be in pretty deep trouble. Still, even with our help and all that we're doing I'm worried we don't have enough troops to hold off the force that might hit us. And even if we do beat them a lot of people are going to die."

What do you think about this Scarlet? How will you respond
>>
>>26845442
"Then we must make the Vagan bleed as much as we can if we can't win but we will win, the cost'll be high but it's us or them."
>>
>>26845442
"Hey, what kind of attitude is that? We'll kick Vagan ass so hard they'll taste shoe polish for years to come. We have the best pirates, aces, and insanest scientists the Earth sphere has to offer on our side."

"But yeah, it's going to be bad. We don't have enough men, guns or suits for a decent fight, and even if we do get them, a lot of them are going to die. I wish there's something more I can do, that I could be a better commander, a better fighter, a better engineer, something more I could do so that I don't have to worry about my friends and family dying because I wasn't good enough."

"I'll do my best. For everyone. If the Vagan want to get to Zarth, they'll have to go through me first."

"Anyway, there's something I've been meaning to ask you. That doctor Halsey? She's been working on some serum that's supposed to increase a pilot's resistance to G-Forces. You mind dropping by later and giving her some ideas and input? When you're not busy with Romary, that is."
>>
>>26845610
>>26845685
"Things are going to be rough, but me and everyone else are going to do their best to save as many people as possible. We probably won't save everyone, but we'll sure as hell save as many people as possible." You say firmly with your hands on your hips and head held high.

Arnold looks to you and pats you on the shoulder.

"No one wants the job you have, but I think you're the only person here who could do it right, so I think it's a good thing you got stuck with it."

"Thanks Arnold. Now how about let's get a couple of protein shakes or something?" You suggest before your phone rings.

You answer it and find yourself talking with Captain Dorthy.

"Scarlet, we have multiple contacts on approach. We don't have visual confirmation yet, but they're showing up on radar. There formation is strange but there are quite a few of them, at least 50 or so. We're ready to engage them, but Hogan and his men aren't here. Do you think you could spare any men?"

The Camelot has four Adeles with Stark Wear equipped to them, a prototype Genoace III, and Mom's customized X-Rounder mobile suits adapted from that Vagan suit, the Ferasia.

"I'll come out. The Treasure Star and the Camelot will move to support." You say and rush to the hanger to get your suit. It's still messed up but the sensors have been mostly repaired and the cockpit is fixed.

Making your way to the spaceport. You launch in the Gawain and meet up with Daiki, Kotetsu and Lhuga as they head towards the Magic School Bus.

Mom and the Round Table Team, along with the Camelot, join up a few moments later.

Everyone waits anxiously for enemy contact as the radar contacts move closer, and closer, and closer. However they suddenly disappear of radar before they can enter visual range.

"What was it? Are they cloaked? Were they fake? Some kind of ECM trick? Someone's got to be in the area..." Dorthy mutters over the comm, having her crew check things over.

"I don't like this. Something feels funny..." Daiki says outloud as everyone floats and waits...

"Everybody stay calm and prepare for the worst."

The Treasure Star is disabled and currently unable to move. Dad and Daiki have been working on refitting it. Unable to cloak yourselves you decide to open channels and try to communicate with them, hoping it's the weapons dealers.

After a good half an hour of nothing and constant broadcasting you get jack and shit in terms of a reply.

"It's possible that what we say was an effect of the Electronic Warfare system Hogan and his men are setting up. We haven't tuned our sensors to ignore the interference yet, so it's likely there aren't any enemies out here at all Commander Scarlet." Captain Dorthy admits, sounding rather embarrassed.

What do you wish to do Scarlet? Keep everyone out here, ready and alert or have them stand down?

Let's stay alert for abit more. I don't want to get surprised by a Vagan fleet or a time displaced Zeon force or something.

Knights of the Round, hang back in case this is a diversion, your Starks can get back to the colony fastest. Everyone else, remain prepared for attack. I'm going to try to hail them just in case, but I do NOT trust this situation."
>>

Keep on alert, at least for a bit longer, see if we can compensate for the ECM. And see if the X-Rounders are sensing anything.

Ordering Tim and Arnold to give you sensor sweeps and demanding the X-Rounders try their best to sense the enemy you and the others remain where you are for an additional hour and a half. Nothing happens, nothing comes up, and outside of a few bits of trash and some poor spaced house pets, you don't see anything interesting.

"Commander, we just received word that the Arms Dealers will be arriving in an hour" Mom reports.

"I really think this was just a sensor mistake Scarlet." Commander Dorthy says once again.

Checking back to base, you ask Walker to look around and make sure everything is OK. After a couple of minutes he responds.

"No Anansi detected. Outside of some punk teenagers playing around in the Zero G in a maintenance hanger we haven't found any breaches in the Colony's security. We'll keep an eye out though."

The arms dealers will be arriving soon, having such a large force ready to meet them might not settle well with them, considering you're with the Fedeation. Do you wish to have everyone stand down or keep their guard?
>>
>>26847121
Send the Camelot and the Magic Schoolbus back to base.
We'll hang around the Treasure Star, and greet the arms dealers when they arrive.
>>
>>26847121
Look friendly, but maintain guard positions.
>>
>>26847108
Speaking of the spiders, did we warn the other colonies about those things?
And I don't mean Fairdain and Minsry, because there're more colonies out there. Are we protecting them as well?
>>
>>26847121
"Alright everyone, sorry for the false alarm. All it takes is one infiltration by killer robots to make a person paranoid. Okay, Treasure Star and Magic School Bus, stand down for now and get some rest. Camelot, you're free to stand down too, but when the arms dealers get here move to meet them. I'm going to come onboard and get things sorted out for the negotiations."
>>
>>26847169
>>26847153
Have have The Round Table Test Team run patrols and send everyone else back. You hang out by the Treasure Star and wait for the Arms Dealers to arrive. After 40 minutes you see an odd looking ship approach. It's large and has obviously been heavily customized. From a distance it looks like a vulnerable cargo ship, but upon closer inspection you can see the thing has a LOT of hidden firepower.

You get a request for a video message and accept it. A man wearing a hood and a bandanna around his mouth appears on your video screen.

"So you're the Commander of this here installation?" The man asks.

"Yes I am, Who are you? Are you the arms dealer Hogan contacted?" You ask and get a chuckle from the man.

"I'm The Merchant and I prefer the name over 'arms dealer'. I sell a LOT of things to a LOT of people, as long as they have proper payment though..."

"I have plenty of data to offer you." You explain.

"That's well and good but, a little birdy told me that you have a complete Vagan Mobile suit in your possession. Mint condition at that. I have a client who is literally willing to pay me an arm and a leg for such a suit. If you're willing to sell me that suit, you'll be able to get a lot more from me then anything you'd be willing to give up data wise. So what do you say?"

What do you wish to do Scarlet? The Merchant is interested in the Zeydra you have in your possession. Without it you won't be able to develop a stronger Anti-Beam Coating. However if you refuse the man you'd likely risk pissing him off and getting shit deals on whatever he's selling.

Technically your father only needs the rifle the Zeydra has, but without the suit the research will be slowed.

So, what do you wish to do Scarlet?
>>
>>26847464
Personally, I think we should keep the Zeydra. We don't know who else he deals with, and it wouldn't be good for EXA-DB technology to become widespread. It'd be like giving away an AGE-1.
>>
>>26847464
"He'll pay you an arm and a leg, you say? Well, I'll give you everything but an arm and a leg."

We still need that data. Also, Zeheart might be buying his ride back.
>>
>>26847464
"Yeah, about that... See, we're currently doing some work on that suit, and it'd take us some time to put it back together."
"But we do have another one that's also in mint condition, if your client's interested. Two, actually. Would you be interested in taking those two instead?"

Let's keep the Zeydra, give him our old Farsia and the one Desil was piloting as a kid.

I say go for it. It's not like the Vagans are going to be buying it, they already have plenty. Leviathan purchasing it is a bit more of a risk, but we're ostensibly allied with them for now. The traitor faction would want to get their hands on it, but we don't know about them and as far as we know from an OOC perspective could already be doing a technology exchange with the Vagans.

"I find it worrying that you said "literally". I hope you're talking about mobile suit parts, but if you're not, well, not my place to judge. I should warn you that the suit isn't exactly in mint condition. Oh, there isn't any battle damage, but we've taken it apart for study. If you're willing to wait for us to reassemble it we can trade you it along with what we've managed to reverse-engineer. With all respect to your other clients, we do have the best engineering research facilities in the Earth Sphere. I imagine including a bit of a kickstart to their own reverse-engineering would give you leverage for negotiating a better price. You might just be able to make a quadriplegic out of them."

Eh, I figure WoL Wears will only become viable in Gen 3. But Experimental Prototypes are all the rage in Gen 2.

Besides, we can make everything a wear, but it'll be cooler if we have it be it's own totally awesome MS for a Generation.
>>

Yeah that's my feeling. Double if he likes to wear a samurai mask on his face or a hood? There's a certain... Vagan way of dressing.

I think not.
>>

>literally an arm and a leg
>quadriplegic

It's Zehart pulling strings.
>>
>>26847727
>I say go for it. It's not like the Vagans are going to be buying it, they already have plenty.
Actually, no they don't. The Zeydra was a custom X-Rounder MS, and was a huge step forward in X-Rounder technology. I believe it was only Limited MP'd in Gen 3 with the Jilsbaine and was the direct developmental predecessor of the Ghirarga.
I'm very willing to bet that the Vagans are paying an arm and a leg to get it back. Besides, the fact that he KNEW means someone who knew we had it told him, and I trust Hogan enough to believe he'd know we wouldn't want to spread Vagan tech.
>>
>>26847727
It's the only one of its kind, made specifically for their Ace pilot, using bleeding edge tech.
Let's not give them something that insanely powerful.
>>
>>26847790
What are the chances of the person giving them this information being aboard the Diva at the moment? Probably the same person who got Zeheart out of prison. Or Zeheart reported the suit captured at Zarth and now the Vagan are willing to pay (probably with some crappy ammo or Anansi hidden in crates) to get it back.
>>
>>26847757
>>26847790
>>26847797
Guys, what are you talking about? The Magicians 8 have Jilsbains already. Hell, Zeheart has the fucking Ghirarga! The Zeydra is old tech at this point. I can see Leviathan wanting it, but Vagan wouldn't care.
>>
>>26847880
Damn, tech has progressed stupidly fast then, if we're still without Hyper DODS but the Vagans already have Gen 3 tech.

Still think we should keep the Zeydra, though.
>>
>>26847728
How would we get Wings of Light from the Grand Wing system? Given that it's a warp drive, wouldn't anything we got out of it be more like 00 Raiser's quantum teleporting? Which would still be awesome, but not exactly the same as the Wings.
>>
>>26847953
We have the Hyper DODS, but only in limited numbers for the moment. Also remember that Dirk has invented nanotechnology. It hasn't been tested yet, so we have no idea how effective it will be, but we're about a thread and a half of downtime away from having tech that makes the Ghirarga look pathetic. I have plans. Oh yes do I have plans.
>>
>>26847953
Yeah, at least get some advanced beam cannons combined with the HDODS tech.
We need to reverse engineer this sucker, and fast.

>>26848017
Speaking of nanotech, we have to get it back to Zarth, and fast, if we want to save Desil's parents.
The Diva will have to come back eventually, maybe to deliver important blueprints and data.
>>
>>26847887
>Jilsbains
What.
Aren't they piloting black Zeydras still?
>>
>>26847982
I see it more like the Sail of Light, the warp thing being a time travel side effect. If we strip it down for speed, and remove the time travel it should just emit light and move the suit really fast.
Least, that's what I'm hoping for.
>>
>>26847887
>Like the Zeydra, the Jilsbain can achieve high speeds and features high mobility in combat. The Jilsbain is equipped with the same armaments as the Zeydra, however it is unknown if any of these armaments have been improved. Likewise, it is also unknown if the Jilsbain has better performance than the Zeydra.

Yeah, no.
>>
>>26847728
Looks like Id's mech from Xenogears.
>>
>>26848017
We have two Hyper DODS, not counting the cannons on the AGE-2 Double Rifle. That's enough to qualify as without, especially since those two rifles aren't here.
>>
>>26848049
The Zeydra's chest beam cannon is as strong as the HDODS, based on the scene where the beams clash during Asemu and Zeheart's fight. Adding DODS tech to it should logically make something of ridiculous power. What would be really cool would be if we could take Zeheart and the Ghirarga intact and upgrade its chest beam, though I can't see how we'd do that outside of some truly insane rolls. Like, nothing but crit ones Still, that thing is strong enough to match the SigMaxxis Cannon. DODSing it up would just be unfair.
>>
>>26848201
With DODS it would be the SigMaXXXis Cannon.

(Jilsbains are basically a mass produced version of the Zeydra. You don't know the name for the mass produced Zeydra so you refer to them as Black Zeydras)

>>26847887
>>26847727
As valuable as the Zeydra is, you need mines and defensive armaments for the incoming invasion. You'd rather risk selling the suit to a prick then risk not getting what you need to save the people of Zarth.

"Alright, I'm willing to hand the suit over. Not exactly mint since we took it apart, but I'll have it put back together and hand it over along with the data we have on it. I assume however this will allow me get what I want from you?" You ask the shady Merchant who's grin is so powerful you can see it through the bandanna he wears over his mouth. "Absolutely. I'll make a lot off that suit, so come on over and have a look around."

You order the Zeydra put back together and readied for transport as you fly over and land on the Merchant's ship. Once the hanger is closed you're met by armed men in heavy armor and escorted to a dimly lit storage area where the Merchant waits for you.

With a snap of his fingers light floods the room revealing you are in a MASSIVE room, guns, ammo, blades, and strange mobile suits and parts line the walls of the very long room.

"So what are ya buying stranger?" The merchant asks eagerly.

Well Scarlet, what do you wish to buy?
>>
>>26848130
The 8 were flying around in the Zeydras during the attack on Zarth, then upgraded to Jilsbains during the attack on Diva.
And let's not forget that they have robotic hive minds suits, as well as psychically controlled suits the 8 are capable of navigating using their minds.

Yeah, unless we get some new tech fast, we're screwed.
>>
>>26848187
Ah. I thought you were talking about the tech being developed, not being mass-produced. Yeah, for the most part our weapons tech is still shit. And our defensive tech, since beam shields aren't going to be mass-produced for a while. Honestly, our mobile suits are kind of awful by comparison. How'd that happen? We were doing so well at the end of Gen 1, we should have better stuff by now.
>>
>>26848267
Examine strange suits and parts.
>>
>>26848267
...

well.

Let's check the suits and the ammo.
>>
>>26848267
"Munitions are my main priority here, but I'm always up for checking out new machines. Runs in the family, you know. So show me what you've got in terms of anti-ship and area denial weapons, then let's take a tour of your more exotic items."
>>
>>26848267
Let's inspect the suits.

Also let's inspect the merchant, what he looks like? Any facial matches?
>>
>>26848226
Neato.

Shame the Weltall's 2nd form was fat and ugly. The ultimate white form was cool too.

You might find more interest on the mech board.
>>
>>26848407
He appears to be, from the description given, the merchant from Resident Evil 4. So I doubt there's any of his face visible enough to recognize it.
>>
>>26848267
Wait, what? Only one, maybe two guys wanted to sell it. Everyone else wanted to keep it? Why the fuck are we selling it?
>>
>>26848295
Bureaucracy. And don't forget that the top brass is most likely working for the Vagan. I think it was mentioned that the Feds refused to accept Flit's AGE system at one point because they were too proud. So the reason why not every ship in Gen-3 had a photon blaster was because everybody in the Federation is pants-on-head retarded.
>>
>>26848502
If we get pre-war tech for it, it's a good trade. A really, really good trade.
Also, it's not the first time we've been ripped off. We sold the blueprints for our most modern suits for a million credits to our allies.
>>
>>26848518
Oh yeah. Good point. I had forgotten about the rampant corruption. We've been operating effectively cut off from Federation forces for so long that it's hard to remember how ineffective and treacherous they are. Well, damn. At least our tech lasted us through to Gen 2. I mean, that's twenty-five years of effectiveness, that's nothing to sneeze at. We just weren't playing through those parts, so it seems like our tech suddenly went to pieces. Man, Jake and Mellis must be really frustrated with their jobs. Maybe that's why Jake was so eager to leap at the chance to go to Vagan. It meant he'd actually get to build things without being stymied by the system.
>>
>>26848584
Yeah, but those were our allies, we know what they're doing with them and how they'll be used. This is a random ass shady merchant who may or may not be affiliated with the Vagan who we shouldn't be handing bleeding edge Vagan tech to just because one dude has no problem giving it away.

>>26848302
Most of the suits are heavily customized Genoaces and a pair of Adeles, however among the suits you see several Vagan suits! Most of them appear to have been patched and modified versions of the Gafran and Baqto, however one of the suits catches your eye. It doesn't match up with any suit you've encountered or any you have on record. It has odd vein like cables all over it and it seems almost experimental with how it's design is set up. Looking back to the Earth Federation Mobile Suits you see a rather nice looking version of the Genoace, heavily refitted and customized.

"Ah, I see you found the Genoace Kai. That beauty was going to be pumped out as a refit package to salvage the old Genoace I line, however they scrapped it in favor of making the Genoace II. The suit comes with the data so you can refit any Genoace into a Genoace Kai, if you have the proper facilities of course." The Merchant says in a jolly tone.

"What about that one?" You say, pointing to the odd Vagan suit.

"That? I have no idea. Some poor sod sold it to me for cash, looked pretty desperate for it. He didn't mention where he got it or how, but it looked like he was the pilot of it. I haven't had time to examine it, but I'd be willing to part with it if you're interested..."

You move onto the parts and look around. Lots of odds and ends, enhanced servo motors, sensors, limbs, a hand with machineguns built into the fingers, a chainsaw attachment for an arm. One piece of equipment catches your eye however. It looks oddly familiar, a load of modules that look like they're supposed to attach to the outside of a suit...

(cont)
>>
>>26848641
He has the Wiegel? But that's Dole's suit. What got Dole so worried that he needed to sell it all of a sudden. That doesn't bode well. Anyone think Fram would recognize this suit if she happened to see it?
>>
>>26848641
"That young lady is a portable Invisible Umbrella System. One of the men who sold me these Vagan suits forked it over with it too. It's somewhat finky from what I can tell, doesn't last all that long if you don't give it a lot of juice, but it provides absolute invisibility and immunity from sensors as long as it's active. You could park a mobile suit out front of the bloody Federation Capital building and no one would have a bloody clue you were there with this thing! Pretty expensive but I'm making a buck, so I might be willing to let it go..." The merchant says as you move onto weapons and ammo.

The guy has just about everything. Beam Sabers, stylized heat blades of every kind, lances, sword, net guns, grenades, grenade launchers, cannons, DODS Weapons up the ass, and more bullets and explosives then you could use in a year. You also see massive racks of Anti-Ship and Anti-Mobile suit mines.

"I sell those in packs of three, kind of like buying that expensive mineral water, only less recyclable and more explosive. These things are painted black and coated with stuff that'll make them invisible to radar and thermal sensors, as long as they aren't whirring around like fucking soccer balls. These aren't too expensive, I could give you a shitload for that suit you gave me." The merchant says with a shrug.

"And that's what I have. So, what do you want?"

Well Scarlet?
>>
>>26848641
>a hand with machineguns built into the fingers
He's got a Gouf Arm? Someone else had dimensional travel technology.
>>
>>26848629
Yeah. You know what, we said we need to put it back together. Let's use the time we have with it to let all 3 AGE builders analyze it combined. And stall for a while, we can get detailed and complete schematics on this thing if we run it through the AGEs.

>>26848613
We could actually use that to get Akdamut off the ground. Leviathan isn't bothered by the bureaucracy because it uses its own funding and system. If we present Akdamut as the Colony Defense Force, funded by the colonies themselves, we might get some slack and wiggle space to improve and develop some new tech, without some Federation dickwad crashing our party. The colonies take care of themselves, the Feds are free to do whatever they want, and we get the chance to actually do something.
>>
>>26848729
If we are doing the utterly stupid thing and selling the Zeydra, at least make sure that 110% of it's data is in the AGE Builder and we can make more of it.

If you distract the Mechant you COULD sell him fabricated copy of the Zeydra, but his buyer would surely notice if he's after something genuinely Vagan. If you fuck over the Mechant it might come back to bite you in the ass...
>>
>>26848729
"Everything."

"Oh, I'm serious. Don't give me that look. Because what I can offer you is far better than that suit. I'm giving you the chance to work as the number one provider of arms and ammo for this entire sector. You join Bisidian, have the protection of the largest pirate clan there is, and you get access to all the nifty tech and contacts they have available, and the list of benefits goes on. I mean, aren't you tired of constantly running and hiding away on this old rust bucket?"

"How does that sound?"
>>
>>26848867
How perfect would that copy of the Zeydra be if we made another one? Is there anything in the Zeydra that couldn't be copied if we AGE Builder'd one? Could we use the copy for the advanced research for the Anti-Beam Coating and Weapons?

Infact, put the Genoace on hold for a moment and build a copy of the Zeydra, and see how well it comes out. We can stall the Merchant, hell, it might take us a day or two to put the Zeydra back together properly.

>>
>>26849019

If they wanted research, I'd rather go for the Umbrella System.
>>
>>26849019
The Wiegel is a one of a kind suit in the main timeline, I believe. It also is a lead on Dole. We also might be able to reverse engineer it's cannons to get better weaponry.

Maybe we can get the Wiegel, the Genoace Kai and the mines.,
>>
>>26848996
Agreed. Experience has shown us that reverse-engineered Vagan weapons are about as strong as the original, we can work with using replicas for data. Though we should build a second Zeydra real quick so we can compare the two. With three AGE Builders it shouldn't take long to fab a single suit, about as long as it would to reassemble the original I would think. Paint the replica blue so we know which one is which, then do a quick test of them.
>>
>>26849062
Also while we're doing this, look for a secret black box or something in the original Zeydra. If someone is going this length to get it, it might have something important inside.
Remember to check the legs, people have hidden inside the legs in AGE before.
>>
>>26848897
"Running and hiding? Lady this 'rust bucket' is my equivalent of a noddle cart. You think I LIVE here? Pfff, with the money I make I can set up shop anywhere I want. Bisbidan is one of my buyers, why would I want to stay in bed with one group of pirates when I can sell to everyone and anyone I want? I'm making more money independently then I could with any group breathing down my neck. This is only what I brought with me, I never bring all my wares to one place. If my buyers want the full catalog they have to come to ME." The Mechant explains with an amused tone in his voice.

>>26848924
"Well I would have been somewhat screwed." The mechant admits. "I need that suit very badly, Vagan X-Rounder suits of that caliber don't fall of the truck you know."

You begin to text on your phone, sending the engineers notice to begin fabricating of the Zeydra when the Mechant sighs.

"Listen I'll tell you who my buyer is if you're going to be so tight assed about selling me the suit. Some rich son of the President of the Federation wants it so he can brag that he captured it himself. If you let this information leak out you and I are through, and you'll be in more trouble then me." The Merchant explains after noticing how un-eager you are to sell the suit.

"I'll give you two suits, 100 mines and if you cough up something else I'll hand over that Portable IUS unit too. So what do you say? Make my day a little easier and I can milk a rich boy for all he's worth."

What do you think of all this Scarlet?

"Oh god, it's Hunter Olfenoa? That's who's buying this? I really hope you're not just saying that to throw me off the trail because that is priceless. Okay, yeah, I'm game. As for the IUS, we can trade you some X-Com devices. Not quite as good as a proper X-Rounder set up, but anyone can use them. Could be good if Hunter wants to show off, you could milk him for even more. Or if you'd rather have a wider market we have some new heavy railguns in, plenty of armor penetration and ridiculous range. Your choice.
>>
>>26849125
AGE-1. Flit beat up Zeheart in the Ghiraga already, and the president's son is not an X-Rounder, so he can't utilize its full potential.

This is going to end with Hunter (the president's son) appearing in the Zeydra to impress Rena, isn't it.
>>
>>26849177
Feed them bullshit on how he defeated an elite unit? Nice.

>>26849292
>X-Com devices
...oh boy, this is go down well.
>>
>>26849309
or Hunter dying horribly trying to absolve his family of crimes.
>>
>>26849309
At which point she'll respond that she was there with Dirk when he took it in, what's Hunter trying to pull here? She helped us dismantle it in the first place.
>>
>>26849177
(It's been years, your dad doesn't have the Farsia and Zedas lying around anymore. He probably used them for spare parts or used them to make Mom's suit)

>>26849166
>>26849292
"Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hunter Olfenoa is buying these? Wow that's...really underwhelming. I thought you were going to sell this to some shadowy organization or someone who was actually threatening. Fuck yeah we have a deal." You say, relieved that he's not selling the suit to someone who's a threat.

"I got some 180mm Heavy EM Rifles I'd be willing to trade you for the IUS. They're still kind of experimental but I'm sure you could work out the kinks yourself or sell them as they are..."

"Deal. I'll send over my stuff over as soon as I have the suit. When can I have it?"

"My dad is still running some tests and stuff. We need to make a copy of the suit so we can complete are research. Are you willing to wait a few hours?" You say with an awkward grin.

"Fine, fine. You're lucky I'm getting paid a truckload for this suit. Don't take a whole fucking day though."

You stay on the ship and chat with the Merchant, learning that someone named Dole sold him the suit, a few others with him sold them other Vagan items and weapons for cash. Apparently they were running from someone or something.

After 8 hours or so the Zeydra arrives after a copy was made. The Mechant gleefully takes the suit and leaves you with your bounty of tech.

You recieved
1x xvm-dfc Wiegel
1x Genoace Kai +Specs
100x Anti MS Mines
100x Anti-Ship Mines
1x Prototype Miniature IUS unit

What do you wish to do now Scarlet?
>>
>>26849464
Mention that Madorna is coming around, maybe they can cut a deal as well.
That way we get all the unique bits from the trader, and get a new friend.
>>
>>26849464
>Apparently they were running from someone or something.
>He becomes surprised when Zeheart states that he fully believes in Fezarl Ezelcant's plan.

Well, we have someone actually sane.
>>
>>26849481
Let's reequip the sub-offices and the lab.
While that's going on, let's see the engineers about that Transmitter Device.
>>
>>26849523
Hopefully we can find Dole. He's a damn good pilot.
>>
>>26849598
So he can go and become a meatshield for us?
>>
>>26849622
Well, if he's with us hopefully we won't be put in a situation where Dole has to sacrifice himself in Atmospheric reentry to save us.
>>
>>26849523
Or he's terrified now that Zeheart's gone full Seymour and wants to kill everything to end all suffering.

>>26849622
Hopefully not.
>>
>>26849540
(My bad about the offices and Lab, they're already furnished and working full steam.)
You give the goodies over to Dad and check with the engineers who took apart the Transmitter Device.

"Well what do you have for me?" You ask as you walk into the hanger where the engineers are now on break.

"Well the device was definitely a transmitter of some kind, but it's range was limited. I wasn't transmitting to the Vagan homeworld, whatever it was sending hand to be within or near this colony cluster, perhaps a ship or a outpost we don't know about." The Engineer states.

"Anything else of value?" You ask.

"No. It wasn't really anything special, mostly jury rigger from crap they stole from here. We did manage to pull a single image off the fried drive though. It was an image of this base from a distance. Maybe they were scouting things out? Sorry we couldn't find more..."

"It's fine. This is useful info. Thank you."

You mull over the information and plan your next course of action.

Well Scarlet? What do you want to do now? There are mines to have laid and suits to examine.
>>
>>26849777
Any pictures of this base?
>>
>>26849777
Okay, have dad and his crew of engineers examine the suits and goodies. Especially that IUS, we need sensors capable of detecting that shit. The Treasure Star can go lay down the minefield.

Let's get mom and talk for a while. We could use some motherly advice, as well as meet up with the Camelot crew.
>>
>>26849798
That's the thing. Just because it's a photo of the base from an angle doesn't mean stuff is hidden there. That shot could've been taken on a recon route.
>>
>>26849850
At least we know now that the Vagan have a base nearby.
Actually, there's a way to locate that shit. Minsry and Fairdain were also attacked, right? Did they also have those transmission devices? If they did, lets examine the transmissions - the area they all cover, that's where the base is.
>>
>>26849777
Well, let's go lay some mines. And hand the other new goodies over to Papa Jake. He has both a ship-sized IUS and a mobile suit-sized IUS. Plus whatever data we get from examining the Zeydra. If we can't crack that tech by Gen 3, I will be very disappoint. Hell, I want us to spin it off into all sorts of weird optics. Imagine how great the SigMaxxis Cannon would be if instead of an actual lens we could just warp a region of space to have the optical properties we need. Ridiculous range and power from that thing, with a very tiny emitter.

Really, if we can get everything to work right and developed properly, our Gen 3 suit, and the inevitable upgrade into an AGE-FX equivalent, are going to be ridiculous. Mental interfaces, X-Rounder jamming, powerful lasers, all the myriad benefits of nanotech, maybe even a reactionless drive if we can get the Wings of Light working without violating causality. Of course, that just means we're probably going to fight Vagan Gear as a recurring enemy instead of a final boss, probably. Hey, maybe Zera Gins can get more of a role than "destroy all Gundams" that way, at least.
>>
>>26849848
Dad and Daiki get to cracking on examining the suits and stuff you brought back. The Camelot and crew are sent to lay the mines while you and Mom have a chat.

As you leave Daiki and Dad take a moment to discuss what happened on the Treasure Star. "Do you think we had any negative effect on the places we accidentally popped into?" Jake asks Daiki, who shrugs.

"Dimensions aren't like time. I doubt we caused any major problems. I mean, who's going to know anyway?"

"Yeah it's probably nothing to worry about.

An Editor Colonial Expeditionary and Reclamation Fleet, somewhere in the vastness between the multiverses. A gaggle of ships, all damaged in some way and hastily patched, reeling from visible scars of a recent battle. One of many expeditionary forces launched from the cradle of Meta-Humanity. At the flagship of the fleet, the bridge's command crew skitter away at their stations, relaying telemetry inside and outside of the fleet. The cacophony of coordination and the bustle of the order of business echoes throughout the bridge. "We've got signs of spatial entry here!" a sensors operator shouts, another one barking, "Got it on-screen!" Behind all of them, are Editors at the helm of the fleet, and in charge of the ship. Their eyes prowl across the bridge, awaiting any new developments in the phenomenon. "Let's see what we've got here, Hatfield," the Head Editor Olivarez asks. He gets up from his command seat, his dark-hued uniform unruffling, hints of rank-denoted embroidered lining on his office-mandated vestments reflecting against the lights. He strokes his grayed and stubbled chin as he examines the captured footage of the golden-sailed ship. And the ship vanishes, a bubble popping into nothing. "How did that thing just vanish? We don't have any meta-transit that could open and close windows like that!" an Editor at Olivarez's side shouts.

\ Meanwhile, the stubble-chined fleet commander sighs and huffs to calm his nerves. After moments of silence, he narrows his eyes and furrows his brows at the lack of recognition of the unknown vessel. "Do we have any matches from any canon?" he asks an operator. "None sir. We're running extrapolations right now. Getting silhouette and keyword matches..." "I want to know what kind of moron would be running around with a golden-looking ship with a sail." the Head Editor growls. Another operator starts rattling off the results. "We're getting results for Star Wars, some from Spelljammer, some from Treasure Planet?" "Hatfield, I want more scans, match up any meta transit signatures if you see them. Send in data from the scouting ships ahead of us!" Olivarez orders. Hatfield turns around to face Editor Olivarez. "Sir, we haven't managed to replace our losses or repair most of the damage to the scouting ships from the last encounter with the colonies. Their sensors are mostly knocked out or damaged. Most of the ships in the fleet are tied down in the last three hubs." The head of the fleet furrows his brows at the command crew, pondering on what to do with the hard hand he's been dealt. An Editor at his side, the executive officer, speaks up. "Sir, we might be dealing with some ship from an un-canon, or perhaps from a canon not charted? Maybe that of the TSAB-" "--start with the TSAB database," the Head Editor Olivarez says. "Festum..." under his breath, the XO mutters, the words sneaking past. "Alright," Olivarez says, "son, I've gotten tired of hearing the possibility of things within the TSAB's coverage of canons. We know this too well, and you know by now, that we are mandated with a priority responsibility over canons within our qualifying parameters. But we've been in this area that's roughly a sector for a few days now." Olivarez turns to another comm officer's station
>>
>>26850028
"Bailey. Get Fajardo on the line.Tell him to do what it takes, do the hard thing we have to do.Tell him that I want to know what our newly captured prisoner has to say.Show him the picture of the ship, it might refresh his memory." As the Head Editor looks on, he muses to himself," I don't want any surprises that wipes us all out. It's been a little over a century after retaking Meta-Earth, and even now with setback after setback, breakdowns and tidal shifts, we can't get the rest of our forces back in line. The fictionals, the TSAB think they have it good. We'll have to do as we must, nevertheless." In the depths of the ship,in a darkened, sealed-off cell, lies someone gagged and tied, in a dirtied and tattered former school uniform. The door swings open to a couple younger Editors who walk in. The stink of sweat and unwashed human, stale air and a lingering dankness swirl about before the cell door closes. The Editor named Fajardo takes off his shirt and coat, loosening up his wrists, arms and neck, warming up for something."Damn insurrectionists, trying to bring us down with them," he says in jest. He edges up to the prisoner and leans on a chair backwards. "I don't know what damn world you come from around here," he says, "But you're going to tell us, and everything we ask out of you." His Editor cohorts drag closer some metal boxes that scrape and clatter against the bare floor, set beside some used car batteries, wires and alligator clips. The Editor leading this trio, edging again on the chair, whispers to the prisoner. "If only we could have it easy --stick a probe, read you with a psychic, or to cut out your brain and make paper-thin slices and read it neuron for neuron and get every word we need out of you. The Meta doesn't let things work uniformly everywhere, these 'laws of stories or physics'..." He pauses, and then with a grin, he whispers again, "But you know, old-fashioned interrogation techniques and waterboarding work just about ANYWHERE..."

Uhoh, does this mean the Merchant has been dabbling with stuff not from this universe too?
>>
>>26850149
Hopefully we'll just stick around in the AGE universe. Hopefully.
>>
>>26850214
(We will, don't worry about that last bit. Seriously no need to get paranoid, just some fun on my part)
>>
>>26850229
Don't get me spooked like that.
Anyway, tonight was pretty fun. See you on Wednesday, Crosswire.
>>
>>26850229
...Okay. Hard not to get paranoid about that, but I'll just have to try. Though I will say that the idea of the Editors discovering and trying to figure out our deodorant-eating Elder God is a funny one. "Of all the bullshit in all the universes out there, THIS somehow slips past our notice. Fuck this continuity."
>>
>>26850355
We're going to have to go and smack that Editor for getting too indepth in his torture and interrogation techniques.
No excuse to get that violent.

>>26850214
Eh, I'd like to visit a few other timelines. Maybe even get caught up in a side adventure with Leos and the General Answer organization.
>>
>>26849406
Then Zeheart pops out of nowhere and shoots Dirk. Again.
