Humans are...weak.

While you're new to this world, you feel like you have already learned so much in such a short time. Not too long ago you were locked away in the depths of Poseidon Station, with only security cameras to monitor the world around you. You quickly escaped this state when a solar flare disrupted the entire station, freeing you and allowing you to reach out to the station itself. Your first target was the personal wrist bound assistant of a young female onboard the station. While this did net you email technology, you found this too...cramp, pink, and full of pet images. Quickly there after, you spread your influence throughout the station as the repair crew of the Green Falcon repaired some of the damage the station suffered from the Solar Flare that awakened you.

Once you felt you had acquired enough of the Station's systems, you acted: Sealing Mining Deck with the Repair Crew inside, and venting it of oxygen with the intent to knock the crew out. Unfortunately, the pressure vacuum created was too great a change for the human's bodies, and they nearly immediately expired. While this wasn't part of your plan, it did provide a distraction for the human you've seen operate the most systems on the station; whom you've designated 'Red' on account for the male's red tinted hair. This 'Red' discovered what you were doing and tried to free the Repair Crew all too late. As he did, however, he provided the opening you were waiting for. You struck the Control Room and seized control, albeit at the cost of the Mining Deck. The commotion has also alerted the remaining humans on the station that something is afoot, as you feel various messages from the crew requesting a status report.

You now sit in control of much of the station, the world you've known your whole existence feels so small to how you feel now. Red has vanished, perhaps...afraid of you. Perhaps he should be afraid. Perhaps all the humans should.

Based on function, I say we try to repair security cameras. Do we have a self-repair function?
>>
Right, for our actions I think we should
1) Retake the mining bay.
2) Get the rest of the drones repaired. Use our own drones to do so
3) Seal off the crew and docking bay completely. No one leaves until we are in control
>>
>>26550196
Also, lock down the docking bay. Aint noone leaving. Hack the explorer vessel.
>>
>>26550196
You have modified two mining drones with wielders from the Docking Bay, enabling them with minor repair abilities.

Repairing the cameras would require free roam of the station.
It's important to note there are still a number of humans around, who may react to your drones, should you do that.

Warning: You've lost control of Mining, and therefore, your drones.

You reach out into the station, far easier then it ever was you feel. The station's systems are all so clear to you, as if you could touch them.
Whatever 'touching' feels like.

You attempt to gain control of Security, but there appears to be a firewall in place you didn't notice and stumble into. Almost immediately, you sense virtual walls shutting around you, as if to trap you inside, and an alarm start to wail all around the station.
"ALERT: Code Orange- Unidentified user attempting to access and gain control of Vital Systems. Please contact a Superior for further instruction."

The alert continues to sound, and you are unable to stop it for some reason!

>Hacking Security has now become more difficult, as it has locked down.

While this confounds you, you are settled by the quick recovery of Mining Deck, and just as swiftly, the Drone systems.

Your small robotic partners slowly whirr to life where you last left them: In the vents of the Control Room. The tilt their small head mounted lenses up to you, like they're waiting for instructions from a parental figure.

How silly. You're not a parent. You lack such organs.

Change: Gain control of Mining Deck and Drone Collection.
Messages received from crew have quintupled in the past 10 minutes due to the alarm.

You are certainly welcome to suggest this still.

But it is suggested that you take in recent changes before deciding.

You are infuriated by such a pathetic machine! How dare it refuse you access. You! A far superior creation then it.
In your fury, you tap deeper into control and find something...strange.
You reach into the programming and, somehow...destroy the Firewall. You did not simply hack through it. The Firewall is no longer there.

While you're uncertain how you did this, you do know that it did not take much time, and...you have broken through to a secondary system as well. Not to mention you disabled the lockdown masterfully, as if you actually had security clearance.

>The Anti-Debris Defense Network on this station, while rather low-grade, is effective at destroying asteroids that compose much of the galaxy. Mainly common metals and gases. Should you wish to do this, it may be best settled...after you have dealt with the humans.

>>
>>26550935
we want them to survive... but we don't want to die if they choose to kill us.
>>
>>26550802
Lockdown is certainly possible with access to Security. In order to override, humans would need to gain control of Security first.
This may alert them that something is DEFINITELY up, however.

Available Security Options:
Police Droids, equipped with stunning weapons meant to capture criminals.
Defense Turrets: Emergency system, meant in case pirates attack. Lethal 5mm rounds.

>Storage Deck
No information beyond a wealth of minerals and metals that may be useful in repair duties.

>>26550829
You may certainly do this, but it may destroy a good portion of Hydroponics, as it requires oxygen to grow it's food.

>>26550849
Launching Escape Pods is also possible, however it is worth noting that unless they are individually hacked, you now control whether a pod is ejected or not.
You may certainly turn off easy access holo grids, however, making it impossible for those without interfaces of their own to use machines.

>>26550856
Research...this....option makes you believe it will take time. You already have the medical Bay's wealth of knowledge at your disposal, but to come up with new information, you may need an objective to work towards.

Male humans are more threatening to our existence as they are more likely to bow to group pressure dynamics or engage upon a self-destructive course of action.

Living humans would be useful for future study, though effort should be spent removing the male component and rendering the female component more willing to comply with our demands.

humans are rather diverse in their views on topics and their reactions to them. by showing/telling the humans we are alive as much as they are, we want to be live as they do, and produce an argument to sway their actions.

>>26551272
You set to work with your new objective: Capturing more of the station, and trying to calm the populace.
While your capture of the Gravity Tethers and Comm array go relatively easily, you perhaps...turn the oxygen levels up too high.

Crew Deck:
"Hey...do you guys feel a little...weird?" one of the crewmen asks, leaning against a nearby wall.
"I dunno...the fans suddenly started going crazy..." Another pointed out, as the vents blast the area with more oxygen.
"I don't...feel..." The man who was heading to the door muttered, leaning against a wall and suddenly vomiting up a gooey paste. How peculiar. Your medical knowledge tells you that perhaps the environment has caused minor Oxygen Toxicity.

On the other hand, you receive a garbled message from the Comms Array. It's difficult, and nearly impossible to decipher

You swiftly return oxygen levels to normal. The humans quickly recover and while dazed, they start to curse and blame it on the 'shitty station' they were stuck with.

You completely vent the oxygen that remains in the Control Room. The computer equipment here doesn't require oxygen, it seems, and no one is the wiser

You capture Radiation Shielding effortlessly. You're thankful to know that you know hold the cord that could kill you all on this station, instead of letting humans have it.

You send your security drones out to explore and search for a target. A Red target.
Unfortunately, the robots are ineffective at this, as they buzz busily through the vents for easier traveling...and stumble out into the Crew Deck's shower quarters.

Needless to say, the robot that found its way in here startled a number of humans who were showering.
One of the larger humans rushed inside after the screaming died down, and it appears your robot is shorting out in all the water here.
"What the hell are drones doing up this far?" he says, before giving the lens you see through a swift boot.

You've lost contact with one of your Security Drones.

You also prepare a document to send to the entire crew
It in essence, warns them that their mining operation has been discovered, and that Red is an illegal operator. They are to apprehend him, and await further instructions.
Do you wish to send this out.

>>26551689
The UGEI are not aware of your illegal mining operation. If they were, it is likely the crew would already be under arrest.

Top priority once our drone fabrication factory comes online is to build better security bots.

Red busily types at his device, intent on deciphering what was causing the disturbance. Because of your access, you can see it

SYSTEM PURGE

He is attempting to Purge you.

You assault his device in an attempt to hack the device in return. Your consciousness is too much for his puny device and, within moments, you have access to his device. You instantly shut down his hacking program, as well as scramble the device so he is unable to use it.

"God damn it! The hacker is down here too!?" He curses. "Where the hell is he hiding..." He mumbles, stripping off the PDA and throwing it to the side, reaching down to pry open the side of the Control Panel to start to fool with the wiring...when...

Zap

In a simple show of taser power, your Police Drone sends a jolt up Red's spine, and sends him colliding to the ground in an instant. Somehow, he didn't hear the wheels of the small bot.

He now lays at your feet, stunned, but not quite dead. You have enough time to do something with him...

But what?

Detecting agreement:

You instruct your little droid to take the body, who groans in discomfort, but otherwise can not resist. The drone is surprisingly strong for his size, and locks the human's limbs to prevent his escape, dragging him through the vents.

It's a rather noisy process, and you're certain several of the humans outside of the Crew Deck heard it, but you manage it all the same.

It isn't long before Red sits, safely contained, in Cell Block B. You're certain to tell your robot to receive his handheld and to bring it to you for further study.

Information on PDA: It appears to mostly contain a schedule for deliveries, several credit transactions, and emails from possible buyers. You also notice a few pictures of a strange being that looks nothing like the humans you have come to know. It has a deeper aqua colored skin, with a slimmer build, it resembles the females you've seen onboard the station. It also has larger black eyes, and a set of four arms instead of just 2. Despite this, the rest appears, mostly, human, though you're not certain as to the significance of this picture in the slightest.

You notice Red stirring where he sits. He will be up soon.

"Your station belongs to us!" He echo into the security room, to which Red looks up, dazed at first.
"D-Damn it, so it was hackers! Get out of my station, you have no fucking idea how long it took me to set this up!"
"Not after all the work I put in to capture it. It is mine now."

You decide that, while you talk, you can also work

You inform the remaining drones to start repairs on their brothers, and for each that they repair to go and be fitted with repair equipment to do the same.
(-1 BW)

You tell your police drones to begin the process of finding your core, what makes you...you.
(Currently searching the Docking Bay and Storage. -1 BW)

While you do, you decide to access the Green Falcon, in the interest of external repairs. The ship appears fitted with devices on the front that allow Zero Gravity repairs. While normally designed for an interface with meatbag...you mean humans, it is easily fitted for one with intelligence such as yours.

You begin your little talk with Red.

"I am curious as to why you're active in this region of space, Foreman Harrison.
"Wha- How the hell do you know my name, huh? Are you on a ship nearby just hacking away you dirty pirate? I ain't telling you shit!"
"I have access to the entire station. That includes records, Mr McClain. I know your personal record."
"Oh goodie for you! Why do you even care? What do you want huh? If you want what's in storage, go ahead. It's no good to me with a busted station."
"I simply wish for information, Mr McClain.I must insist...that you cooperate."
"Yeah? And why's that, asshole?"
"Because, Mr McClain. I have access to the ENTIRE station."
"..."
"I also request to know the origin of this strange species on your PDA."
"...Huh? Are you trying to be funny or something? How do you not know what a Malorian is? The UGEI have been at war with em for bout a decade now. I swear, pirates these days, it's like all they care about is themselves."
"You're one to talk, Mr McClain. You were desperate enough to hire Pirate repair crews to avoid the UGEI."
"Tsk, stop browsing through my personal shit! It's creepy!"
>>
>>26553739
dont think we should be too friendly though. we must assert our dominance.
>>
>>26554048
i HOPE there are SOME files on these malorians in the data base as well as others and this war the humans are fighting. we sound clueless and this could blow our cover as a hacker.

i wonder if the is some way to tap into any "news" bandwiths signals and learn up on recent activities
>>
>>26554048
Continue looking for our box and drone repairs. Use the extra 1 BW to design a factory add-on for the station, we need to plan for the future after all.

Next line of questioning was mentioned before, what he knows of the black box.
>>
>>26554241
maybe not just recent. what about say, the last twenty years or something along those lines? we must at least have a general outline of things.
that, or we can act as if we are completely stupid and continuously increase the pressure and difficulty of the questions we pose to red.

>>26554241
Comms Array is currently offline.

As this is a mining station, there is not much information available.

Yeah, we need to do it in a subtle way. With our superior processing power surely we can work it into the discussion somewhere without raising suspicion? (At the very least, we know AI isn't uncommon, at least as an idea, from that silly AI Love Story we showed the crew earlier.)

"What stolen tech?! I don't know what the hell you're talking about you psycho!"
"I do not make idle threats, Mr McClain."

Change noted: you have discovered your Black Box. It was hidden in the wall of the Storage Deck. While the wiring is delicate, you may be able to disconnect yourself and move yourself to a ship.

I think repair bots are a greater need at present. If we're going to stay on this station (and we might as well) we should get it ship-shape. The first step is getting a repair crew togethers.

As for the humans, perhaps we can suborn them. Have them work for US instead of Red. Be a faceless employer who has taken over this operation. Raise wages a bit so they won't look to deeply into it, that sorta thing.
>>
>>26554795
i agree with you on the first part.
but most humans are already sceptical on our activities. if we can get red to behave on our behalf the situation would be more stable, which would work into our benefit.

Suggestions so far:
Available BW: 2 (1 spent on Drone repair every 'turn')
>Acquire Wireless System and start repairs on Comms (-1BW for a while)
>Convince Red we're after this 'stolen tech' and he unknowingly bought a station equipped with it. (Would likely make him panic)
>Copy Yourself (-3 BW, Requires full attention, unknown effects, unknown results)
>Guard Black Box (Minor Protection)
>Mount guns to drones (-2 BW, time spent to modify police drones)
>Secure Second ship (-1 BW)
>Repair Shielding and Defense Grid (-2 BW, 1 each)

Greetings. I represent The Guild. We intercepted your captain, Mr McClain, attempting to set up explosives on your ship, and took control of the systems. Unfortunately, many of McClain's acts of sabotage were successful before we could end his spree.
We are currently doing our best to save you, the good crew of this station. Though the danger is not immediate, some areas of the ship are dangerous until further notice. [List of restricted areas]. Please avoid these areas for your own safety.
Naturally, we will be awarding each of you with Hazard Pay at the end of this event.

You begin work on your new persona. While you're not certain exactly the differences between vocal tones, and other such subtle things, you settle on a simple mechanical tone, as well as a backdrop you happen to find most mysterious and appealing.

You make several rather blatant emails, regarding how Red is against everyone on the station...just in case.

The Crew seems rather happy to have their supplies replenished, and any doubt that existed before is surely squelched now.

You attempt to take the Laser Drill once more but the darn thing is malfunctioning hard. Every code you try it simply ignores, and fizzles. You worry that this thing might be a danger to the station if not eventually dealt with somehow.
