You watch as the two contestants enter the arena. Your thoughts race with the exchange you just witnessed, and the mysterious capsule hidden in Dark-Spike's palm. Whatever it is, you're certain it bodes ill for Sharp-Strike.

You quickly scan the arena. You glance at the judge's panel. Though four of the seven judges there are of clan Night-Prowler, you're certain they are not able to ignore such a blatant act of cheating - if you can prove it.

The contestants are now being introduced. You have only a few minutes before the fight begins in earnest. You notice the guard, Dark-Spike's accomplice, casually walking away.

Do you:

A. Shout out a warning to Sharp-Strike, to let him know his opponent has something hidden in his palm.
B. Dart out and attempt to intercept the guard, before he leaves.
C. Leap towards Dark-Spike and force his hand open to reveal the capsule.
D. Do nothing, and watch.

Let's try B
>>
>>26443223
>>B

You quickly dart to the left and make your way to the arena ring. You sprint down the set of narrow stairs towards the side door, attempting to bar him from the exit.

Suddenly, you hear more frantic footsteps crashing down from the other direction. You slam your back against the wall and peer around the corner. You see the guard in a full sprint towards you. He's being chased by someone.

Do you:

A. Leap out and tackle the guard to the ground.
B. Wait until both run past you, and attempt to identify his pursuer.
>>
A. I guess. Alternately we could maybe trip him as he goes past.
>>
>>26443327
A
>>
>>26443327
B
>>
>>26443462
>>A

You dash outwards from cover and slam into the guard with your body. You pound your right fist into his gut and drive him hard into the ground.

He reflexively swipes at you with his extended wrist-blades as his back hits the ground, but you dodge his blow easily. You ram your knee into his groin, and pin him to the ground.

You glance behind you, but see no sign of his pursuer.

Do you:

A. Interrogate him where he is.
B. Attempt to drag him to a nearby storage room.
>>
>>26443607
B, drag him and do this quietly.
>>
>>26443607
A.

There's no time, Sharp Strike is in peril.
>>
>>26443607
A. WHATS IN THE BOX?
>>
>>26443681
>>26443732
>>A

Once again, the guard attempts to swipe at you with his blades, but a quick elbow strike to his chest dissuades him from further attempts.

"What's in the capsule?" you ask him.

He grits his jaws, looks up at you, and growls in defiance. "Get off me, whelp, before something bad happens to you."

Do you:

A. Repeat the question.
B. Threaten to kill him if he doesn't answer.
C. Break his wrist.
>>
>>26443841
C.
We're not fucking around.
>>
>>26443841
C. What are we, Jack Bauer?
>>
>>26443841
Break his fucking wrist, we don't have time for his bullshit
>>
>>26443857
>>26443889
>>C. Break his wrist.

You grab his right wrist with one hand and twist hard until you hear the crunch and shatter of the joint underneath. You squeeze down on his windpipe with your other hand to squelch the cries of pain.

You loosen your grip, and ask him once again. "What's in the capsule?" On a whim, you quickly set your wrist-computer to record.

The guard sputters, but manages to stutter out an answer.

"P... p... p... poison. Dark-Spike wanted to... p... plant on his opponent."

You growl thoughtfully as you come to understand their devious plan. Win or lose, Dark-Spike would perform a sleight of hand and claim Sharp-Strike had the poison capsule hidden in an attempt to cheat. Sharp-Strike would then be tried, and given the circumstances, there wouldn't be much sympathy for Sharp-Strike here, in Night-Prowler territory. You'll need to act fast.

Do you:

A. Drag the guard to his feet and march him in front of the judges.
B. Knock the guard out and approach the judges, and play back the recording of his confession.
C. Leave the guard where he is and get back to the arena.
>>
>>26444192
Drag the guard. We have the recording if they don't believe us.
>>
>>26444192
Drag this asshole.
>>
>>26444192
B.

A seems way too cocky
>>
>>26444236
>>A

You pull the guard up to his feet by his collar bones, pin his good arm behind his back, grip him by the back of his neck, and drag him behind you.

You make your way around the perimeter of the arena and head to the balcony, where the judges sit. Several guards raise their weapons as you approach, but warily keep their distance as you hold one of their own hostage.

The seven judges turn to see your approach. You stop before them, and press the apprehended guard to his knees.

Do you:

A. Immediately play back the recording.
B. Explain, as politely as possible, to the judges what you saw and why you're here.
C. Order the guard to talk and tell the judges what he told you. Remind him you have it all on recording.
>>
>>26444422
C.
>>
>>26444422
C. And who was the guy chasing him down earlier?
>>
>>26444531
>>26444459
>>C

At your request, the guard begins to stammer. "I...It wasn't my idea. To... plant the p...p...poison on the next contestant."

One of the judges, a Night-Prowler, suddenly stands up and inspects the stammering guard.

Another judge, an elder from clan Sky-Spear, clicks thoughtfully. " Is that true, Judge Ebon-Claw? One of your guards..."

The Night-Prowler judge growls. "Not one of mine," he snarls. "I know the face of every guard in this arena. I trained them myself. This one is an imposter."

He grips the guard by his chest harness and pulls him to his feet. "Who are you?" He slams a fist into the guard's face. "Where did you get the uniform?" He swings his fist again.

You're certain the guard won't take much more of the beating, and may very well die under a few more blows.

Do you:

A. Urge restraint and attempt to stop the judge from killing the witness.
B. Allow the beating to continue and appraise the reactions from the other judges.
C. Appeal to the other judges and remind them about the cheating attempt being carried out right now in the ring.
>>
>>26444678
A but also focus on C.
>>
>>26444724
Yeah, A is most important, this guy could be trying to kill someone we could still get useful information out of.

C is also important.
>>
>>26444678
>>Agreed, Let's go with A
>>
>>26444678

C, A if we can manage.
>>
>>26444724
>>A

You bring up your hand and deflect Ebon-Claw's next blow.

"You won't find out much by killing him," you say.

Ebon-Claw grunts, and casually throws the guard against the wall. He shouts an order to the nearby guards. "Throw him in the cells. Find out how this happened." The guards obey, and approach the unconscious guard, slumped against the wall.

Ebon-Claw turns to you, and is about to say something, when a loud cheer erupts from below. You look to the ring. Sharp-Strike has pinned Dark-Spike to the ground, and has both his opponent's arms locked down tight. It looks like a solid victory for Sharp-Strike. Suddenly, Dark-Spike's voice booms across the arena, as he holds up something between his fingers.

"Cheat! He's a cheat!"

You look to the judges. "Have them both arrested and thrown in cells," Ebon-Claw orders.

Do you:

A. Appeal to the rest of the judges, and question the need to arrest Sharp-Strike when it's clear Dark-Spike is the cheater.
B. Appeal to the judges to sponsor a trial now, with the evidence present.
C. Demand that the judges clear Sharp-Strike's name right now, in order to not sully his honor.
>>
>>26445010
>B. Appeal to the judges to sponsor a trial now, with the evidence present.
>>
>>26445010
C - and we play the recording for them right now.
>>
>>26445010
Let's stop here for the moment, and resume next time, see if there will be somewhat more activity.

Is your work schedule going to be a bit more lax? It's been incredibly irregular as of late.
