One year and eight months ago, you were a Magical Girl.

Sent to visit the Eighth Officio in America, along with the Equerry of the Ninth and your direct superior.

You'd expected this to be just a simple milk run. Just be the requisite honor guard for the Equerry, not that she needed guarding in the first place. A decent chance to get out of Mitakihara and go sightseeing, bring back a couple of souvenirs for your significant other.

As it turned out, it was completely the opposite.
>>
>>26427722

You didn't expect the weather being so fucked up that you hallucinated a pink-haired girl with black pits for eyes cackling about how Kyoko was going to die in the immediate future. You didn't expect being reminded how shitty your school life was, to the point that you very nearly started an war between three Officios - including your own.

You didn't expect being asked to go into a deactivated Silent Room, where a Magical Girl was being caged like an animal. A crazed animal that could corrode anything metal and flesh just by being in the same vicinity. To get close enough to her to slap a Culexus collar around her neck, which would...make her easier to deal with, or something. You're not too sure about the particulars, there, but that's what you've been told.

But of all the things you didn't anticipate, it's wearing this...strange suit of armor that they've stolen from god knows where, and actually being comfortable in it. As if you've worn it before, somehow. As if it was made to fit you exactly, molded to your own shape.

It's probably just a convenient coincidence, though. You probably would have been weirded out by it, how the armor seemed to fit you like a glove, if you were just as superstitious and irrational as most of your fellow Magical Girls. You've heard some of them murmur prayers and appeals to a 'Blessed Lady', whispering her name for luck just before throwing themselves into the fray. Nothing harmful, all told, but it spoke of a reliance to something ethereal, something unknowable - something that probably doesn't exist.

...Then again, you've seen weirder things in your tour of duty. Things that really have no right to exist, no matter how much Kyuubey reassures you that they're nothing to worry about. There were also your dreams, which you've never really taken seriously, despite them being so frighteningly real that you stayed awake for nearly a week after a particularly-harrowing one.

[1/2]
>>
>>26427727

Afraid that if you closed your eyes, you'd see Kyoko impaled at the end of your sword again, her limp form twitching around the blade as it cut into her spine.

Maybe...maybe a Blessed Lady isn't really that far fetched, considering you usually fought a twisted manifestation of despair incarnate two, maybe three times a week.

Maybe it wasn't such a sign of weakness to at least say something. If she didn't exist, fine, all you wasted was a breath and a couple of words you won't be needing back.

But if she's real...well, it probably coudn't hurt. May at least improve your chances of getting back to Kyoko in one piece.

Not a bad tradeoff, then.

"Alright, Sayaka, do you hear me?" Malal's vox-corrupted voice is scratchy through the headset you're now wearing underneath the helmet. "Checking to see if we've got comms straightened out."

You reply to the affirmative as you stand in front of the inner entrance leading into Sub Zero, the Eighth's biggest Silent Room. Malal, Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake, and Amber are outside the outer entrance, which had slammed closed and locked behind you earlier with the sepuchral finality of a heavy coffin door being shut.

"Good. Now, you've got the collar with you, right? And the two Grief Seeds in case you need them?"

Yes. You've got them. Malal saw you place them in your inventory. Reckless as you've sometimes been, you're not as stupid as to get into this kind of thing without a spare Grief Seed or two.

"Good. Now, the Anti-Magic Field for the Silent Room proper is still up. The moment we open the inner door is the moment we're turning it off completely. So you need to get inside the room as quickly as you can, because we'll only be giving you a couple of moments before we close it again. This is in case Sabrina gets it into her mind to try and break out."

Fully armored Sayaka-chan!
>>
>>26427729

Of course. Perfectly logical. It's what you would do, anyway.

"...Right." A moment of seeming hesitation from the Equerry. "Is...is there anything you'd like to say before we get this op started, Sayaka?"

What, your last words? Your chuckle echoes around the metal helmet you've clamped down on your skull. What does she think this is, some third-rate anime or soap opera?

"...No. I'm just trying to ask you if you've got a message to pass to someone, just in case."

You roll your pauldron-encased shoulders, trying to get used to the armor just a bit more. Sure, this is all nice and snug and maybe comfortable, but you're not going to be able to move as quickly or as fluidly as you could with just your costume.

Just in case, huh...?

How do you respond?

You bounce on your feet a couple of times, trying to get rid of the tension in your frame, amused at how much of a din you're making. With all the armor plates banging around with your every move, you sound like a fucking kitchen during an earthquake.

"Sayaka? Sayaka, are you there? Mary, are you sure the Anti-Magic Field is off where Sayaka is? I can't--" You hear Malal panic slightly on air, and you chuckle again before replying.

No, no last words, you say with a grin hidden by your helmet's faceplate. Nothing you can't tell the person concerned in person when you come back - and besides, even if you were that much inclined to leave a message, it's none of their business anyway.

"...Alright, Sayaka. We'll open the door and shut down the field on your mark. Once you've got her collar on, just send a signal and we'll get you out of there. Good hunting--"

There's a sudden fumble of microphones at the other end, followed by a muffled vox-corrupted squawk of surprise - and suddenly, Mary Sue's voice comes on.

"Sorry 'bout that. Sorry, sorry...Mickey!" She all but shouts your stupid nickname into your ear, making you wince. "I'm just, uh, I meant what I said earlier! If you don't want to got through with this, it's okay to chicken out! We'll just send someone else--"

What? She's telling you this now? ...No, seriously, it's fine. For fuck's sake, you already told her in the coolest way possible. Is she trying to upstage you or something? ...Goddamn americans, really can't read the mood...

"Hahah..! S-sorry, just...t-this really means a lot, ya know. Not just to the Officio an' everyone here, but...to me, too." Mary Sue's voice, excitable and irritatingly cheerful as it is, becomes subdued, low-key. "Whatever happens, Mickey, I owe you one. An' a Springfield never forgets."

What, like an elephant, then?

[1/2]
>>
>>26428252

"Exactly! ...Wait, what? Didja just call me an elephant--"

You shake your helmeted head, before telling Mary to get off the frequency and get Malal back on. Besides, it's too early for any gratitude - you haven't even stepped into the room proper, for fuck's sake.

"Y-yeah. Sorry." A giggle. "Uh, Miss Malal, here you go--" Another series of muffled talking, and the reassuring voice of the Culexus replaces that of the Warmaster in Training. "Right. Before we were unexpectedly interrupted...good luck, Sayaka. The Blessed Lady protects."

...Heh. The Blessed Lady protects, indeed.

You give them the signal, and the metal double doors in front of you unlock themselves with a series of clicks, before sliding apart. Showing nothing inside beyond a misty, smoky darkness.

Well, here goes. You step forward, your new armor clanking with every step. Into the room, into the darkness.

The door behind you slams shut literally a moment after you've cleared the threshold.

"Both entrances on total lockdown. Anti Magic Fields disabled." Malal intones. "You're on your own, Sayaka. Operation Start."

Right. Operation Start, indeed.

You walk forward, deeper into the room, making sure to keep your eyes open and your ears sharp. ...As sharp as they could be, anyway, trapped inside a strange helmet that looks like something out of some eldritchian nightmare.

For a Silent Room belonging to the highly-funded, much-lauded Eighth...the insides of Sub Zero resembles that of an untidy, abandoned stockroom.

Even in the horrible lighting conditions - with only a few flickering lights here and there to provide illumination to some of the wide and vast room's corners - you could easily see that Sub Zero didn't start out, exactly, as a holding pen for contracted prisoners.

From the suggestion of what could have been living areas, and the still-disassembled frames of bunk beds, and the rusting lockers...this was supposed to be a Culexus housing facility. For Culexus to be able to enjoy interaction, at least with each other, without fear of making people around them throw up or get an embolism or something.

...As much flak as you give them, as frank you are to their faces that you're uncomfortable around them - you can't help but admire someone who'd sacrifice so much to serve. You're pretty sure they didn't wish for something that'd benefit themselves, as no one would probably wish to live such a cursed existence. No, they probably wished for something so altruistic, so selfless, that they ended up cursing themselves. Their wish benefited someone else completely, with nothing left for them but the karmic check to pay for. Not a wish at all, but a curse.

...Well, that, or they just wanted to be able to wear leather 24/7. Who knew, really?

With nothing but your own breathing at the clanking of your armor as company - and no Sabrina Blackburn spotted so far - you let out a sigh in frustration, before stopping as you see a dark form huddle against the corner of the farthest end of the room. A light flickers above it, making it flinch - revealing itself as a young woman, slightly taller than you, wearing a grimy hospital gown, her dirty ashen-blonde hair hanging down her shoulders in tangled clumps. She seems to be pressing her hands against the metal of the walls, making wet handprints the color of rusting blood.

Visual on the target, you notify Malal. She acknowledges this with a burst of static, before reminding you not to damage her too much. Just to subdue her, nothing more.

Right. Well. You're not melting yet at least, so maybe this could turn out peacefully.

How do you approach Sabrina?

You decide to go for the friendly approach. Hopefully it goes over okay - friendly isn't something you do very often. Or very well, at that.

"Yo!" You raise an armored hand towards her, slowly and carefully, trying your best to be as non-threatening as possible. Your voice sounding weird and hollow from inside the helmet, and spoken in the thin air of the Silent Room. "Sabrina, right? My name's Miki Sayaka, I'm from the Eighth Officio."

The silence in the Silent Room - even if Malal had all but confirmed that the Anti-Magic Field's been turned off - is so thick it's palpable. The girl doesn't even turn around or even move to acknowledge you. You take this as a good sign - at least she's not being aggro, which is the main thing here.

You try to fill the empty air, here. Get her accustomed to hearing you talk. "Listen, I know this armor looks freaky as hell, but I'm here to help you." You pause here, to see if she'd react at all. The girl remains motionless, and you continue. "You wanna leave this room, right? I can help you get out of here--"

"Why?" Sabrina suddenly speaks, her voice rough, hoarse, deep from too much crying, too much screaming. "Why'd they turn it off? I'm hearing their voices again. I-it was fine, it was quiet, before they turned it off."

O...kay. Apparently she wasn't even listening to you.

Probably means the Anti-Magic Field, huh...

"I was okay before they turned it off, I...I couldn't hear them before they turned it off." She rests her head against the blood-smeared wall, her shoulders shaking as she continues to speak - her words tumbling out of her mouth in a panicked, desperate torrent. "W-why'd they turn it off? Please, they need to turn it back on again." Sabrina's voice rises to a keening wail as she bangs her bloodied fists against the metal wall.

uhoh
>>
>>26428678

Screeching, crying up to the ceiling above her, where the rusted husk of a surveillance camera rotted in its perch.

"TURN IT ON! PLEASE, TURN IT BACK ON! I DON'T WANNA HEAR THEM AGAIN, PLEASE! TURN THE ROOM BACK ON, I PROMISE I WON'T TRY TO SNEAK OUT AGAIN! I PROMISE TO BE GOOD! PLEASE!"

You step forward, to try and calm the hysterial Magical Girl down - before you catch a whiff of scorched metal. You glance down, and see that the tips of your gauntlets are glowing red, as if you've just stuck your hands into a furnace. You grind thumb and forefinger tip together carefully - and you notice flakes of crimson rust fall down to the ground from the point of contact.

It's not even warm, despite all appearances - but even you know that the metal's being slowly eaten through. You look down at the rest of your suit, and notice the same thing happening to the various points and edges of the armor's plates. Burning, smoking pockmarks here and there, rust flaking off with every movement.

...Shit. Not much time to fuck around, then.

How do you react?

They will turn it back on soon but first we have some equipment for you that will help stop the voices, once we get it sorted out you won't hear the voices ever again and you will be able to go outside, you will be able to see the sun again. Wouldn't you like that?

Sabrina is referencing Sabitsuki from .flow, a Yume Nikki clone notable for trying to have some discernable story (although it's still very vague and open to interpretation). The gist is basically as we've seen here, Sabi is host to some form of virulent infection or biological agent that "rusts" everything around her, eventually including her own flesh and mind, and is either pursued or held captive by a squad of gas-masked nurses with violent tendencies.

Malal wasn't kidding when she said that Sabrina might have a few screws loose after her stint here, fine. But this isn't just being slightly unhinged - this is crazy. Pure, undiluted, the sort you don't get involved with. Someone broken hard enough that they're just desperately clinging into whatever scraps of sanity they had left.

...You can't help but feel sorry for Sabrina. No one deserves their Wish to turn around and bite them in the ass like this. In fact, you feel sorry enough that it loops around to being...well, slightly puzzled about the Eighth. About Mary. Surely, even with their often overbearing sentimentality, the Americans would've recognized a lost cause the moment they saw it? That keeping Sabrina locked away like some caged animal was far more inhumane and cruel than just giving her the bullet to the Soul Gem that she deserved? ...You could do that, right now. Grant her the mercy she deserved.

You let out a sigh between gritted teeth. ...No, no time for doubt, not right now. Your orders are to get the stupid collar on her, nothing else. And orders are rarely up for interpretation, no matter how much you wanted them to be.

Pulling out the collar from your inventory - the obsidian ring glowing a faint red, as angular veins of crimson light pulsed across its surface, in time with an unheard heartbeat - it's here that you step forward. Carefully. Cautiously. Slowly, with both your hands raised.

You try to tell her - above her sobbing - that you have something to help with the voices. You just need to put it on her, and the voices'll stop for good. And it won't hurt a bit - it's just some sort of fancy collar, after all. She just has to wear it and it's done. Nothing to be afraid of, right?

"It...it can help?" Sabrina seems to snap out of her crying, turning to look at you with bloodshot eyes. "You...you can make it stop?"

[1/2]
>>
>>26429688

You nod, trying to look as reassuring as you could while wearing a helmet with eyeless, gaping pits for eyes and a fanged, toothy grimace for a mouth. You take another cautious step. And another. Closing the distance between you little by little.

She seems to be calming down, at least. Sneaking a look at your gauntlets, the scorch marks seem to be cooling, no longer glowing red-hot as before. Good. That's good. Maybe this won't be too bad after all. Maybe this'll go off without a hitch--

By the time you spotted the rusted length of metal pipe in her hand, gripped by fingers wrapped in blood-encrusted gauze - it was already being swung towards your face in a brutal arc towards your face. Even with the helmet on, you could tell that this was going to hurt.

And it did. In fact, she had enough force in the blow - a blow she shouldn't have had enough room to gather that much momentum - to send you hurtling backward, the bell-toll of the pipe's impact against the helmet still ringing in your ears. Even with the armor weighing you down, she managed to make you fly. You only had a moment to curse your fucking horrible luck before a rotting wooden bedframe broke your fall, crumbling into soggy, worm-tunneled flinders underneath you.

Only as Sabrina started to stalk towards you, her back hunched as she gripped her rusty pipe in both hands - did you idly realize that her sudden attack had made you lose grip of the collar as well. It would be somewhere in the room, on the ground, in the dark.

Fuck.

"LIAR! YOU...YOU MADE THEM TURN IT OFF, DIDN'T YOU?!" Sabrina shrieked, the unclean edge of insanity making her accusation shrill, scraping painfully against your ears. With surprising agility - almost bestial, feral in how she flung herself on top of you, she brought her pipe down right into your already-dented helmet in another crushing blow. "TELL THEM! TELL THEM TO FUCKING TURN IT BACK ON! TELL THEM IT'S NOT MY FAULT! IT WAS NEVER MY FAULT!"

[2/3]
>>
>>26429696

You reach up with a gauntleted hand to ward off her blows, to protect yourself while still being in a stunned daze - only to find out that your entire left arm, up to the elbow, had been reduced to a melted, fused stump. Cancerous, rotting bone jutting out where the joint should have been.

...Man. That's not even fair at all.

"TELL THEM OR I'LL MELT YOUR OTHER ARM OFF, YOU FUCKING METAL DEMON THING!" Sabrina shrieks again, this time trying to jab the end of her pipe into one of the eye holes of your helmet. ...She's not succeeding, but it'll be a few moments she'll be punching it right through your brain.

How do you react?

Sweet unbelievable fuck. It's 10am and the thread's still up? Awesome.

I'd like to take this time to point out to everyone theorizing and speculating and so on about the Eighth Officio that ALL KINDS of shit has already been explained, mentioned, described, and covered in Wendy Cooldown's writeups.

You know, those things that used to come after the end of an MGNQ thread that you breezed right past and probably dismissed as pointless faggotry?

http://pastebin.com/u/WendyCooldown
It's all in there, guys. Go fucking read them already. They aren't crappy, and from what I can see, they're definitely canon.

...And if that little mention of the Seventeenth's Warmaster last thread was any indication, then Prose Magica (the story by archivalfag) is canon, too. I don't know if the Toronto Officio is going to figure prominently at all at some point, but if nothing else, it's been acknowledged in the main story, now.

I'll be honest and say that I don't remember every detail of every write-up. The request was to make her look "tired" so if she looks "dead" instead, that isn't really what I was aiming for.

Unless it's "dead-tired" in which case I can accept that as a compromise, hahaha

You reach up with your other hand - the entire gauntlet there already glowing magma-red, rust flaking off with every movement - and you take a hold of the pipe the crazed Magical Girl on top of you is trying to fit through the eyehole of your helmet's visor. Stopping it in mid-stab, making its wielder scream and shriek and shake in frustration.

"TELL THEEEEMMMM! TELL THEM TO TURN IT BACK OR I SWEAR I'LL FUCKING EAT YOUR FACE--"

...Hahaha, really? REALLY? Yeah, no. You've had enough. Actually, you had enough the moment you realized that she was too far gone to reason with. It shouldn't have taken your left arm being melted to slag for you to catch up with the situation. Way back then...you'd have gone for the most obvious option. The quickest and easiest.

Putting everything you've got into your grip, you grit your teeth as you clench your fist around the pipe. The moment you feel the metal give the slightest bit is when you all but tear the bludgeon from Sabrina's own white-knuckled grip. You fling the makeshift weapon away, before reaching up again and grabbing a fistful of the crazed girl's gown and hauling her face towards your metal helmed forehead.

...The second nose you've broken in one day. If only Kyoko was around to see it.

Sabrina tilts back on her mount, dazed by the blow, blood pouring out of her nose and mouth, to drip down her chin - the fresh crimson already clotting, already decomposing even before it's dried on her gown. On her skin. You prop yourself up with your remaining hand - and throwing fair play to the wind, acknowledging that this was somewhere you had to play dirty, it's here that you punch her in the face. As hard as you possibly can.

With your freshly-regenerated hand, grown back with pure and utter rage, at the cost of searing pain comparable to that of dipping a limb into slow-burning lava. Plainly said, it hurt like a fucking bitch.

>>
>>26430273
Kyoko is so proud
>>
>>26430273

The skin on your knuckles hadn't even had time to set yet before it's already split by the force of your punch - Sabrina's eyes going wide, before going blank as she crumples to the floor. Her jaw curiously and amusingly dislocated from the rest of her skull.

You kick her off you, spitting curses and oaths against the entire Western world in general, before scrambling back onto your feet. Reaching up with both hands to tear your helmet off - which, at this point, was a rusting, dented mess. It drops to the floor with a clatter as you suck in deep, rasping breaths, tasting your own blood in your mouth, already turned rancid by the corruption of whatever the hell Sabrina actually does. ...You wince as you feel some of your teeth come loose. Fucking hell, Expiry Date Chick! You'll pay for that!

Spitting out a molar, you look around for the collar, squinting at the ground, hoping to catch a glimpse of its crimson glow. Luckily, you find it easily enough, and you slip your arm through it, this time, like a makeshift bangle. Should at least help you from losing it so easily like the last time.

You turn back to where you left Sabrina unconscious, to finish this once and for all - only to find that she's gone.

Shit. Shit shit shit.

"Sayaka?" Malal's voice is disjointed, but there, on your headset speaker. "Sayaka, report. We heard something happen in there. What's going on? Sayaka!"

"...Fuck this. I should've gone instead. Malal, I'm takin' over, I'm gonna send in--"

"No. Shut up and let us do this."

"But Mickey's not--"

"Sayaka will see this through." Malal's voice, while patient, was clearly irritated. "Sayaka? Sayaka, respond, please. What's going on? Did you get the collar onto her?"

A lone girl walked the streets of Mitakihara, ruby-red eyes scanning the streets around her as the cool spring air brushed across her face. She hunkered down in her jacket, wondering for a moment if it was worth trying to wrestle her long, green hair into the hood. …Probably not. It wasn’t THAT cold. No colder than it had been the last few months, anyway, the gently-falling snow a cruel underscore for the wild changes in her life lately.

Not something she wanted to think about, at the moment. Not when she’d finally gotten a little peace from a certain senselessly cheery redhead and the sycophants surrounding her…boss. Someone she would have liked to call her friend, even with the circumstances as they were. …Despite all her worries, this city made her feel warm. An old, nostalgic glow filled her soul gem, along with the gentle gnawing of an old, obnoxious friend.

She was trying to quit. Really, she was. And for a while, in spite of everything, she was winning. But the siren call of the cigarette machines made the old, forged Taspo card in her pocket burn. One of the passerby gave her a look as she stepped up to it – she was a little young, wasn’t she?

…No, it was his imagination. A trick of the light. The woman he’d thought was a teenager just then was most assuredly an adult. Not a nice, productive office lady or some college student, though. Just a curvy young woman with tired, sunken eyes and a bustline that was working hard at demolishing an old yellow t-shirt. An escort, most probably. He was entirely sure he’d seen her walking here from the red light district…

An old, smoky bar. An ageless black man. A bottle of expensive whiskey. That was what she’d resorted to that night, in the end. A thousand and one memories rushed back to the green-haired girl. Maybe this wasn’t where she needed to be – no, she knew this wasn’t where she needed to be, thanks to years of experience in her field and the Chirpee app on her phone. Murderface – Matsuda Chiaki, this time around – wasn’t going to be out. She was babysitting now. Warmaster, now. Part of the Idol Voices Around the World event, or whatever it was. She might have even been safe in bed right then, with Kirishima Ruri’s head between her legs.

…No. That didn’t sound like her. But it made the girl’s blood boil just thinking about it, and the only way she could think of to cool it down was another shot, under the watchful but indifferent eyes of Charles. Not that it mattered. She couldn’t afford to get falling-down drunk. She never could, anymore. She was a Callidus. A professional. Not even when she was here, back in this bar, in this city, thinking about that person, could she just drink like a normal fucking person anymore.

The red-eyed girl reminded herself after another couple of shots that she didn’t have much time to waste here. It wasn’t a vacation, much as she wanted it to be. The air had changed in Mitakihara. It had gotten heavier, or maybe it was a sort of underlying scent; a sugar-and-corpses smell that lingered in her nose now, no matter where in the city she was. Or maybe…

Maybe it was just that, as she knew better than anyone, things here were going to get much, much worse.

It'd be strange if Chiaki used to know someone else from Midori's family. Of course, it's easily possible for whoever this is to not have said anything to Midori about it, for a variety of reasons, but it would still be a huge coincidence.

The text really, really heavily implies it's not Midori. The way Chiaki's described makes it clear that it's someone she's not met since she was Murderface, after all (and knows about her amnesia to boot).

'Used to frequent' seems a bit strong, did we really go more than once? You'd think we'd be less...mythical to Midori if we were even rare regulars, since she worked there a ton. Plus, if we'd met anyone from her family there, would she REALLY not have mentioned anything about it? I've been assuming that if it's her relative, she hasn't said anything because she didn't know, which goes out the window if we got to know them right in front of her.

The current Idol job, sure. But I meant both that and the Warmaster bit.

Frankly, I think it's just Midori, but super depressed about taking what seems to be a leisure job without her. Letting her imagination get the best of her.
>>
>>26431440
Midori does look like she gets into some dark moods when she's jealous.
>>
>>26431440

Can't be Midori. Charle's Bar is right in front of her house. She drops by the bar and doesn't visit her parents to make sure they're alright? That isn't her.
>>
>>26431440
>>26431451

Except that it doesnt make much sense. If she wathcing the Webcast like we think she did anyway its pretty obvious that we`re not very fond of Midori.

If this Shotstory is supposed to show how Midori REALLY is like then this would be a HUGE retcon if you remember that we were in head in the Syberia-Arc and while it was apparent that she has a fairly low self-esteem there was nothing that ever hinted she is like that.

tl;dr: If this is canon its a huge asspull.
>>
>>26431709

It can be canon without being an asspull if it isn't Midori.
>>
>>26431709
>that we`re not very fond of Midori.

>>
>>26431580

>>26431709
Maybe. But emotions have a way of changing your outlook, and at the time she was in full-on "Save Murderface-Senpai" mode. Now she's starting to wallow in jealousy and depression, assuming this is her.

Not a big deal, though. We're going to find out eventually. No need to fight over it now.
>>
>>26431776
Guys, it's obviously not Midori based on (in addition to the fact that this person is completely different from when we controlled her):
>Murderface – Matsuda Chiaki, this time around - wasn't going to be out.
Even if Midori actually was like this somehow, only people we knew before the first thread who actually used the 'Murderface' moniker would think that way. Midori has no reason to think of Chiaki as Murderface at all, and she 100% definitely wouldn't give any particular weight to our changing names (unless we secretly knew Midori before everything and she's a master of deception, which would also be a huge ret-con).
>>
>>26431860
didn't mean to link, by the way
also despite everything, the idea of Midori being so good a callidus that she hid her previous knowledge of Chiaki not only from everyone in-story, but even people literally reading her thoughts and moods, is amusing.
>>
>>26431860

Midori did call Chiaki Murderface at first.

Everyone knew Chiaki as Murderface because Murderface is the most infamous magical girl worldwide.

Midori only started calling Chiaki "Matsuda-sempai" when she was driving us to Garcia's mansion and we told her to stop calling us Murderface.
>>
>>26431860
>>26431872

She certainly knew ABOUT us before, both by reputation and by the fact that we'd gone to her family's ramen shop more than once with Kharn in the past.

Oh definitely, but A: there's no reason (or sign) that she thinks of her as Murderface over Chiaki, B: using Chiaki's last name makes it seem like the person doesn't know her by that name at all, and C: she has no real reason to tie the name-change with our amnesia (she could probably reason out the connection, true, but there's no reason for that to have any meaning to her beyond that since she used the name Chiaki both before and after the only time she - presumably - observed said memory-loss).

>>
>>26431957
Entirely possible. We still don't have any idea how Homura and Pinky got to this timeline, so there's still room for others.
>>
>>26432217
Chiaki probably timeline-hopped, assuming she's the REAL Homura and not somehow a clone. Pinky is an omnipresent god-witch who exists in ALL timelines, assuming she's the witch form of the real Madokami.
>>
>>26432257
But it doesn't seem like a normal timehop, as there's already a Homura in this world, and Decu confirmed it. And there was also already a Pinky here.

>She hunkered down in her jacket, wondering for a moment if it was worth trying to wrestle her long, green hair into the hood.
>Just a curvy young woman with tired, sunken eyes and a bustline that was working hard at demolishing an old yellow t-shirt.
Writer mistake, or intentional discrepancy?
I guess she could be wearing the t-shirt under an unbuttoned/unzipped jacket, but you'd think that'd have been mentioned.

Or just part of the J̶e̶d̶i̶ Callidus mind trick she used then.
>>
>>26432335
Madokami saved Magical Girls wo witched out long before Madoka would have existed. If Faust is just the witch form of Madokami, why wouldn't she be able to make time her bitch in much the same way?

And she did already say in this flashback that she's not very good with linear time.

As for Chiaki, maybe this is what happens when she tries to jump timelines with a broken shield?
