Dry clothes? Check. Hopefully un-screwed up Yukari? Check. Worked out a plan to hopefully get the rest of girls who had witnessed the great All-Male Water Fight? Check. You hope. You are the commander of the M26E1 Pershing Heavy Tank "Black Jack" and you've got one last thing to do before class resumes- You need to speak with the council. Luckily, Anzu and her retinue are nothing if not easy to find- they spend most of their lunches in the council room, using the time outside of class to discuss important school business ahead of official meetings. And so, as you enter their sanctum, you find President Anzu reclining in the chair listening to music, Momo tapping away at her phone, and Yuzu cleaning the room. You've got a lot to discuss with the Student Council, but first you want to discuss something that's been bugging you since last night. "So why did Darjeeling give us that Excelsior?" You say casually. You hadn't exactly thought about it at the time, but the wager, even if Darjeeling had won the bet, was nowhere near in her favor.Anzu looks at you. "Well, she lost a bet. I'm not sure how you Americans do it but the loser of the bet has to-""BULL!" You shout, in one smooth movement pulling your feet down and leaning over to pound the table. "She gave us that tank- the bet was just a way to give it to us. She's seen Rose shoot- she knows how good she is and yet she put a tank as rare as the Excelsior up against getting to use Black Jack for one fight?" You shake your head. "You know Darjeeling better than me- so why did she give us a tank? And volunteering to go that toadfish float, for that matter?!"Anzu is quiet for a moment, looking over at Momo and Yuzu, who's stopped dusting shelves of school pictures and awards. She sighs. You look at her, suddenly serious. "Alright, you've got my silence then. Let's hear it." You say, relaxing back into your chair again. "So, as I told you, Darjeeling and myself are old friends- we actually went to the same Junior High School my parents had me attend Oorai."You nod. "Yeah? So she gave you a tank as a friendly gift?""Not exactly, though I did ask for her help. You see, Russells, as the Student Council President, though the student body elects me, I serve at the pleasure of the Principal, Superintendant, and the Ministry of Education." She sighs, turning to look over at the shelves Yuzu had been dusting. "With the lack of budget, they've wanted me to cut even more programs but I've been resisting that. Right now Oorai is running in the red because I refused to cut several programs." She's actually being quiet sincere at the moment, surprisingly. She looks back over to you. "If we win this Senshado tournement, there will be a large budgetary prize for the winner- we'll be able to fund the Senshado program as well as all the current programs. We might even be able to bring back a few that were cut. However, at the end of the semester if the Superintendant find that my choices have kept us in the red, the Student Council will be out of our job.">"So we're doing all this to save your job?">"So winning the tournement is something more than just bragging rights for the school?">Other.

>>26422060It's a miracle that the thing even made it to the town, really
>>26421981Probably. There's only one fully functional Maus in existence. I assume they took the time to recreate the tank with modern metals in an attempt to maintain the armour standards of Panzerfahren as well as the intended strength without using the absurd amounts of steel originally intended, fit the gun, and stick a brand new engine on it.
>>26422060over sized you say? YOU FOOL! you can never have enough DRAKA! even though buildings that cannon and knock out ANY of the tanks we can field! even black jack! and besides Black Jack (and the stunt they pulled to kill it in the show), they would be powerless to KILL IT!
>>26421981Alternate theory: the Maus was privately owned by Shiho, but she let Maho use it because fuck Miho and her dishonor
>>26422101Question is, why would they buy such a ludicrous tank when they could use the resources to buy more practical tanks?
>>26422119>over sized you say?Yes. It's impractically long, and has terrible depression. You know the scene in Kelly's Heroes, where the Tiger can't turn the turret around in the narrow alleyway? The Maus, in an urban engagement, has that problem cranked up to 11. Originally, it was going to have a far more practical main armament. But Hitler said it looked like a toy gun, and demanded they put a bigger one on it.

>>26422312There is no kill like overkill.
>>26422312Consider outside of the context of one tank against one tank. A Maus properly supported is near invincible if all your opponent can get are angled shots. To prevent the other team from moving around to get better shots you need the other tanks.

>>26422361>A Maus properly supported is near invincible if all your opponent can get are angled shots.No.It's not.It tops out at 8.1 MPH under ideal conditions (read: a flat paved road in a straight line). Fun, but not realistic.
>>26422369Not even that, she was going to disown her for being a heretic against the Nishizumi-Ryu.
>>26422346T54 is the type of cannon that we have in Black Jack, numbnuts.
>>26422346Beg to differ on that. Black Jack was one of the two tanks modified with the T54 90mm gun. The gun was eventually replaced with the M3 90mm cannon before it was put into service during the Korean War. Post-Korea it was modified back to it's World War II configuration to be used for Tanking before eventually being stored on Grandpa's farm.
I think the use of the Maus relates to the matter of overwhelming force and 'superior' tactics. Imagine the reaction when said team lost to a plucky upstart school with handme down tanks.
>>26422518"Oh crap, we're not the ones with plot armor and deus ex, are we?"

>>26422555hence why I put ' around it as it was stupidly dependant on Maho's leadership which after she was cut off, they fell apart.Though I get the feeling if someone tried to face them in a more normal fashion, they'd get crushed.
>>26422618Just infiltrating an enemy hetzer into their lines completely fucked their attack.
>>26422618>"Though I get the feeling if someone tried to face them in a more normal fashion, they'd get crushed."That's what the Nishizumi-ryo is about, apparently. The moment someone with enough tactical acumen comes along to wreck their shit (E.g. Miho), they'll get stomped. Miho lost Kuromorimine's championship to Pravda because one of the tanks in her convoy drowned and she tried to save the crew. Granted, she might have tried to call the match to a stop first but it's what she did.
>>26422149Not likely since Katyusha knew about it, and apparently expected to see it.
>>26422657Well I don't think they ever prepared for that. As they point out, it's completely suicidal and thus, unexpected.
>>26422675Well, she was also an observer of the final match and we saw spectators wandering around the tank garages. Like Yukari said, pre-match scouting is allowed. Miho just neglected it
>>26422618Honestly, the tournament is practically BUILT so Kuroromine has the edge. The "Flag Tank" match type heavily favors the use of one obscenely well armored tank. Hell, they could have made the Maus their FT , and camped all day. Forced the other team to come to them and get ripped apart by late-war German TDs.
>>26422714I was under the impression that the judges designated the flag tank for each team
>>26422675There's a great deal of information gathering on other schools. Yukari infiltrating Saunders, Arisa knew that Ooarai was being shut down and presumably other things. So Katyusha probably heard that a Maus was recently sold and/or acquired by Kuromorimine.
>>26422729And they just happened to designate the two Nishizumi sisters as flag for the final battle. That's official misconduct and abuse of power. To the point where where Kuromorimine could probably get the results thrown out by lodging a protest.
>>26422759Saunders had an instrument to intercept Oorai's radio signals strapped up to a dirigible for Chris'sakes!>>26422707It's not like Miho to neglect something like that. At least, as far as I've watched. (Up to Ep 6)
>>26422729It's never out right stated. I always assumed it was up to the teams before hand, though they had to make it known to their opponent what tank was the flag tank.
>>26422799What's exactly misconduct about making the tank with each team's commander in it the flag tank?
>>26422816>Saunders had an instrument to intercept Oorai's radio signals strapped up to a dirigible for Chris'sakes! That's not TECHNICALLY a rules violation, though.Arisa just kept it a secret due to the fact that Kay is an awesome girl who wouldn't stand for any dirty tricks, because the tanks would be sad.

You look over at Anzu. "So, winning this tournement will actually help the school?" You say. "More than just 'Oh hey! We won at tanks! We're great!'?" You think about the Volleyball team and remember how short the list of electives you'd gotten actually was. "So whether we win this tournement determines that much?"Anzu nods. "I didn't want to tell the rest of the team because they're already going to be under pressure to win. I'm not sure how many of them would perform knowing how much rides on this tournement." She reaches over and grabs a sweet potato chip. "I want you to keep this a secret, commander. Even to your crew."You nods. "Got it." It's a bit sobering, knowing the prosperity of the entire school is in your not-quite-so-capable hands. "And thanks for being forthright about it. An argument could very easily be made that the judges acted outside their purview to unfairly influence the match. Especially because Kuromorimine demonstrably lost because of the flag tank choices.Though were it the case the judges would have already been drummed out after the Saunders flag tank just happened to be the one with the radio interception equipment while Oorai's was the one with the thinnest armor. There's really no way to avoid constant allegations of misconduct unless the flag is decided by random or by one of the teams.
>>26423061I'm still on the Kitty. My lack of focus means I tend to advance pretty slowly, and my new work schedule means I don't have as much free time as I'd like. The pay is better than before, but I could do without the hours.
>>26423035They need more hands that know what they're doing. They didn't need help from someone like MC and at least he knew something about the tanks.Sending people that know nothing of the engineering relevant there will only get us yelled at more.
>>26423125Oorai does need more tanks with crews though. They aren't even a full team (10 tanks) by the time Kuromorimine comes along.
>>26423061I have both tier 9s. I already have the T110E3 researched, but I lack the dosh to buy it.That said, I love both tanks. The T95 is absolute murder on a straight line...though the abysmal speed will get you killed when you don't know what you're doing. The T30 has bad armor, but has a godly turret, and you can actually move. It's best played behind the frontliners, where you can get a shot in and not get shot back. Oh, and hull-down, it's pure rape.sage for WoT talk. Carry on guys.
>>26423071And a further 25% hoping the RNG for how accurate your shots are doesn't feel like making every shot that round off-center.
>>26423192Fuck dude don't remind me. 8.6 just like added a 1 in 10 chance that your shit will just miss period. That fully aimed 250 meter shot on a heavy's engine? Yeah it's going so wide it's not even going to splash the tracks. Thanks, 8.6

>>26423125not.. exactly, it doesn't take much to clean tanks, repaint them, and fetch things for the other auto club members. how ever, it might be better if we made teams of the new help to LOOK THOUGH OUT THE SHIP TO HUNT DOWN THE MISSING TANKS!
>>264232438.6 changed the RNG for the better, it just also happened to blanket nerf all arty at the same time.

>>26423243What are you on about? Before 8.6%, 20% of your shots would be on the edge of your reticle, and no closer. Now, it's down to 4%. Go read how their RNG works and work that confirmation bias out of your system.

>>26423559When it happens on 80% of your shots in one match it's still a bitch.
>>26423565The T95 tops out at 13km/h on flat ground. It's only going that fast because I have five tanks pushing my ass.
>>26423561>M4 Sherman>high-pen gunPick one
>>26423561>Using the 76mm>Not the 105mm Derp. There's your problem, the Derp can 1-shot T4s frontally using HE only. I've managed to 1-shot opposing M4s by hitting them in the rear with an HE shell.
>>26423559Have you seen how fucking big the SPG reticle is now? It doesn't have to be on the edge--it could be 15% in and it would still sail perfectly clear of anything resembling a target.
>>26423635Of course with the recent changes in shell mechanics, spaced armor like tracks will REALLY eat up HE shells.
>>26423670True, but at least you don't have to worry about penetration. Just shoot and scoot.
I mostly play the T-34. It's fun. Well, was. Seems like the most recent patch hurt its performance a lot.
You're about to ask something else when you realise something. "Wait, why are you guys acting normal?" You say, sitting up with surprise. "Just talking to me completely normal and not freaking out?"The student council looks at you like you're crazy. Well, crazier than normal. Yuzu speaks first, with concern. "Are you okay, Commander?" She says slowly like she was talking to someone in the midst of a psychotic break? "Have you been getting enough sleep?" "Why wouldn't we be talking to you normally, Commander?" Anzu says, grabbing a sweet potato chip. You blink. "Wait, didn't you guys see the water fight this morning?" You ask. "The 38(t) was right next to us! And all the other girls have been freaking out since they saw us." You look around. "Like, they saw us spraying each other down with water and now none of the girls can look us in the face without blushing and turning away."Anzu blinks. "So wait, there were a bunch of, and please don't take this personally, hot guys spraying each other with water in our tank hanger? And I missed it?" She turns to Yuzu and throws the chip at her. "Yuzu! This is your fault!"Yuzu cowers a bit. "Well, so far the plan is a frank and honest discussion about-" You begin, but Anzu cuts you off."So no encores. Hope that paperwork was important, Yuzu!" She calls back behind her. "Bah! I'm never around for stuff like that!"You blink. "...So yeah, I was wondering if you had any advice or anything? Maybe want to help us get the girls back into a proper frame of mind." You say, a bit annoyed. "Going to be hard to win a tank match if they're all preoccupied with with they'll impress sempai...""Actually..." Anzu says, bolting upright, "Maybe we can use this!
