The hunters go out gathering eggs.

The fishermen aren't able to get too close to the volcano, but manage to bring back some fist-sized pieces of black shiny rock.

The warriors don't know how to make a hatchet more battle worthy. It's short and isn't good for throwing.

The scouts notice that they can go slightly faster, but not all that much further.

The houndsmen get much better at jousting. They come up with an arrow formation that is made to penetrate enemy lines.

The workers turn the hive into something closer to a beehive. The elves no-longer know their way around.

The observers make some molds and begin crafting iron halbards out of the shinies that the workers brought in.

The farmers do some OK farming

The homeguard fix all of the defenses and improve them bit by bit. It seems like they could even stop a pack of litches.

The alchemists figure out that the components seem to have familiar smells. One smells like the hot springs and another smells like the ocean.

The scavengers start hauling food into the Southern Front. The various funguses seem to be a turnoff for most of the people there. Sig tells them not to eat it. Fortunately, you brought fish and other crops as well. The people have warmed up to you.

The mimics talk to the elves about cartography. The elves teach them how to draw up a proper map and to tell different terrain features apart, but don't mention specific places that you haven't seen yet.
>>
Anybody else around?
I'd like someone to talk about the finer points of Insectoid living with.
>>
>>26398581
I'm here. Just woke up from yet another nap.
I like naps.

>>26398244
Maybe go More Endurance rather than Faster Movement? We don't need them to be much faster, but be able to go further.
>>
>>26398613
Naps are good
We can go for Endurance afterwards. That makes sense
>>
>>26398513
Mikey Quest:

"I would like to see this consecration," the observer mentions. He is ushered over to a shrine where an elf maiden in strange clothes dances and says something in some kind of strange elven that you don't recognize. At the end, she draws a circle with ash and places a red ribbon on the beast and burns it withe wetting the ash with what looks like well water.

"Another thing, Sig," the observer starts, "the ones you call wraiths are weak to acid."

"Acid, how do you know all of this," he asks.

"We have acid on our mandibles and it seems to affect them negatively.... Where do these wraiths tend to attack?"

"Anywhere they see fit. It looks like civilians are their primary target. The undead must figure that if they kill enough people helping us from behind the scenes that we will crumble."

also How many ranks of Better Geneweaving until we have the best Geneweaving mutations can mutate?

we need a bigger more tank like warrior variant that shoot acid.

MIKEY'S QUEST: (No clue)

Any ideas for next turn orders?

the admirals ideas sound great, in my opinion anyway

an for mikey's quest we need a solid plan of defense an reconstruction/fortification. we need to be like some kind of elite combat engineers

We can bring some. For clarification: Mikey's Quest was originally something to do for the members of the hive who have screwed up so bad. that we dip them in molten iron and into water to bring them pain for disgracing the God Queen's good name.

MIKEY'S QUEST: Continue to help fortify, observer: Ask about shrine and maiden.

We are gonna get a full shipment of grey grain soon, we don't need to risk scouts at it.
>>
>>26399064
sounds great unless Artax or any other people on here have more ideas to add.
>>
>>26399179
I think those guys got away though. But sounds good anyway.
>>
>>26399198
They're coming to this city with the grain. I'm almost entirely certain.
>>
>>26399198
Artax is right, i think
>>
>>26399210
All right, hopefully the Undead don't overrun the elves before we can get a sizable force there. If they do, how many warriors should we flood through the tunnels? They're Elite vs. Undead now if I remember correctly
>>
So, i've got good news and bad news

I know how to make nitroglycerine, so we can make more of a blasting explosive.

But that shit is so unstable oh my god.

And dynamite is not gonna work, as we are unlikely to run across diatomaceous earth on the map. So, we need to either consider going for Dualine or Gelignite.

The first is weaker, and more unstable, than dynamite, being mixed with sawdust and saltpetre. Not a good choice, but we can definately make it.

The other is made with gun cotton, which we can definately make, assuming we can find cotton. Which is a lot more likely than diatomaceous earth.

There's a third option, and a lovely one, but silica-rich earth seems equally unlikely. So Lithofracteur is a bit beyond our reach
>>
>>26399263
if the elves start to get over run (big if) we can rush in the Houndsmen knights to crush em all with a quick blitz and a warrior contingent to take back hold of the town
>>
>>26399263
Uh, frankly, tear down the signs and we've got our own way of it. The hive is going to very quickly become a hellish place not to be a bug. I would very much like to trap some fake tunnels to keep everyone alert once we're sure the signs work. So we don't accidentally kill friends.
>>
>>26399358
I'd like to believe with some help from us The Southern Elf City can hold the Undead back, but that works too. However, I'll never forget the crushing defeat from the first time we fought against the undead.
>>26399318
Fun Fact they're Combat Rating 99 with at least two Liches and so far we've seen one Undead Dragon
>>
>>26399418
I think we can win this, we've basically crafted our warriors to wreck the days of undead. How high are the walls, Klax?
>>
>>26399418
that is true but our warriors are better then bags of bones and we are much more prepared to fight them. the only thing worrying me is dragons but im sure we can develop i way to stop them.
>>
THINGS I WANT TO BRING HOME FROM A FIGHT WITH THE UNDEAD: A PRIORITIES LIST

1. A living spellcasting undead. I have no idea how we would do this.
2. A wraith, as intact as possible. I have no idea how we would do this.
3. An intact cannon
3a. A mostly intact cannon
3b. A partially intact cannon
3c. all the parts of a cannon
4. A copy of every other weapon an undead brings to bear during the battle.
5. A live undead of any nature. (Zombie preferred)
6. A few elven corpses (Only in case the battle fails and our allies fall.)
>>
I had another one of my strange ideas, that I have whenever I walk away from here to do something else.
I wonder what would happen if we dug too deep? I'm talking like Underdark deep here.
>>
>>26399513
The dark elves are cannon. We're gonna track them down once the undead are less a priority. I imagine they will worship us unto gods. Once we're done with them, anyways.

>>26399461
Yeah, we've developed the warriors to practically go against the swarms of undead.

One thing I would like to develop further for the warriors though, is hotter flames. Sure, fire will wreak havoc among their swarms, but since zombies don't feel pain, it will take a while for them to burn, and fire zombies are a lot more destructive than normal zombies for as long as they live.
I'd like to develop the flames to be able to practically incinerate our enemies.

Oh, and fire tends to not work as well against skeletons, but those are typically weaker.
>>
>>26399498
MUAHAHAHA, YES! giant insects with cannons and necromancy
>>
>>26399548
I imagine the acid will do to wreck the skeletons nicely.

But yes, you make a point. Dry flesh will burn faster, but will it burn fast enough? THat is an excellent question
>>
>>26399548
that argument is definitely valid and im sure it would greatly help...
>>
>>26399556
I'm not sure we're gonna find a way to bullshit developing spellcasting... but we can certainly learn how magic works and develop, at least, a specialist anti-mage caste. I imagine this would be so useful as to be worth a caste or two dying off entirely and needing to be re-assembled.
>>
>>26399587
Yes well nulling magic is definitely just another goal, an yeah the acids good but a sustained flame to literally melt the hordes of undead quickly and from a distance would be great.
>>
>>26399548
This. I remember Klaxx saying something about we can mutate higher range and maybe higher damage. Though the warriors do know how to shoot fire and acid at the same time
>>
>>26399616
Indeed. So warrior caste needs to learn Blowtorch. Noted for next development track.
>>
>>26399637
>>26399636
>>26399548
all these ideas are brilliant now we just need to organize em all for Klaxx
>>
>>26399708
This is us just bullshitting for now. Once we get new mutations or the new turn comes up thats when we actually plan stuff out.
>>
>>26399735
roger that, but still great brain storming
>>
>>26399513

As i've been kinda breeding the clergy to be our morale corps. Once they're good enough at it, we're gonna assign a spare one to every group so we can have some passive bonuses sitting around

Since we're about to discover an alternate religion, can we go for the "Deluded interpretation of the glory of the hive queen" instead of "Heretic worshipping a false god" reaction? As we're going to correct their foolish ways soon enough and i don't need a holy war.

you know me. I prefer to come up with my own terrifying ideas rather than rip off someone else's reasonably successful one.

I wish we could get an observer ontop of a running one. Or near one. I wanna know how the joints work. If there's normal cartilege on the joints or if it's working bone-on-bone because magic. As destroying the joints would be easy-peasy if they're not "because magic"
>>
>>26400267
We asked them. We know how to make one. We just haven't yet. ANd i'm not wasting time until we have somewhere to siege.
>>
>>26400268
we could make giant flying ant dragon things that spit acid

The Hunters go out and gather some more eggs.

The fishermen find a few things on the sea floor, but it's hard for them to see under water.

The warriors practice a siege against the homeguard. The warriors wreck them. The homeguard were far too slow to stop them from getting in and the warriors found ways around the homeguard's defenses. We may not be as invulnerable as we thought. Although, our warriors had some elite units present.

The average flow of undead runs from north to south though as far as the scouts know, there could be more coming from the west.

Halbards come off the assembly lines like blood out of a gaping wound. You appear to have a surplus (considering the hounds are the only ones using halbards at this time)

The farmers (92), manage to isolate trees that strictly produce fruit. They plant apple, cherry, and various other fruit trees.

The alchemists manage to figure out that the fuse seems to be made of some kind of cloth doused in some kind of fermented liquid. The liquid itself adds quite a bit of fuel to the flame which makes it burn out relatively slower, yet more controlled.

Barchetta replied, "We just picked a direction to run in and fought our way out. There wasn't much strategy to it. If you ask me though, fighting in a closed off area would prevent them from using their numbers against you."

I keep having this horrible vision of creating a very small creature, kind of rat-scale, that we can produce in large numbers, who feasts on dead flesh. And then just release, like, a huge fucking pack of them at the undead. Problem is they would be absolutely useless except as a horror implement against any other race.

The mimics introduce themselves to the elves. They're a little startled at first because they look something like the picture, but take to the mimics better than expected. The elves tell them how a ballista works (This can be made next turn).

So long as we have faith in Her and She gives us Her blessings for war, the children of Her hive could fight a thousand enemies on every front and still emerge victorious.

Though we may be imperfect in Her shadow, we must not fear rising to the occasion when so ever it appears to honor Her gift of life and purge such blasphemous thoughts from this world!

Pragmatism should be a value of the fleshies, not Her children.
>>
>>26400462
yeah that's a good point.... an artillery bug could be a better defensive option right now

But would it not be for the greater glory of the hive queen to show them the error of their ways and bring them to bow at her feet rather than through the sword?

Mikey Quest:
The Mikeys are relatively successful at making fortifications. Your observer walks over to the girl performing the ritual and ask her about the shrine:

"This shrine has been here for longer than I can remember. I don't really know the full story, but a magician made it a long time ago. It's supposed to prevent some kind of catastrophe, but we never really knew what kind of catastrophe until we tried one of the rituals for the dead."

You ask her about herself:
"I was born in these lands about 50 years ago. Ever since, I was brought up to work here. I hated it when I was younger, you know, being chained to these duties. I used to go off adventuring (arrow to the knee) just to spite my parents. I tried other lines of work until they caught me. Later I realized that this wasn't a bad job. It's well respected around here and the pay is guaranteed. I even fell in love with a boy once, but it wasn't requited. He went off after some cow-tit nymph in the north. Part of me feels sorry for him, but part of me really wishes he was given the worst of fates."

Just then a shipment from the south arrives.

Free actions for the Mikey quest!

A caravan arrives from the back end of the city.
>>
>>26400532
we don't have anything that does that kind of damage at that type of range yet.
>>
>>26400517
But great Sage, why not have both?
>>
>>26400740
We do have both. The sword for the undead, the kneeling for the elves. And it looks like we didn't learn about a god anyways.

KLAX: So, what did the houndsmen and scavengers do? Didn't get an action listing.
>>
>>26400701
Observer: inquiry to the caravan what they are bringing.
Mikey's: check out what they have anyway.
If Gray Wheat: Explain to the caravan people that it will make the elves sick if they eat it. Offer to take it from them to try to create an antidote to cure the effects of it. (They may be agents of the undead and attack us. Be wary of it)
>>
>>26400378
You actually have a good point. I must've forgotten that. Let's change that to you found some crabs and a few reef sharks.
>>
Intercept the shipment, and restrain the people bringing it. I'm sure that we've got at least one hunter among the mikeys. He webs 'em. Warriors guard shipment, observer explains they will bring better food and in more reliable quantity and quality if we're allowed to find out who's bringing this poison and how to counteract it.
>>
>>26400814
find as in see or find as in bring back to Sand hive?
I've had an idea to use the sharks as we do the hounds and have underwater mounted men.
>>
>>26400838
Sharks. We have sharks.

GOD DAMMIT INFEST COMPLETE ALREADY AAAAARGH

how many more Evo points on that, klax?
>>
>>26400830
I'm down with that. I would also like to note that one of the Mikeys is a fishermen. Not sure what he's been up to but I'm sure he's been making himself useful
>>
>>26400774
Oh yeah, missed them.

The scavengers arrive with the food stores and the Hounds seem to do very well jousting with halberds.

The scavengers may have brought too much food so the hive is getting lower on food stores.

They are present for Mikey Quest
>>
>>26400859
He's been helping move equipment.
>>
>>26400879
Awesome. So. Mikey quest action

MikeyQuest: Intercept the shipment, and restrain the people bringing it. I'm sure that we've got at least one hunter among the mikeys. He webs 'em. Warriors guard shipment, observer explains they will bring better food and in more reliable quantity and quality if we're allowed to find out who's bringing this poison and how to counteract it. Distribute the food from the scavengers.
>>
>>26400930
Good for him
>>26400946
This still
>>26400838
Klax care to clarify?
>>
Oh, and mister antonymous? We've got an excellent situation here. The people are learning now to rely on an insect for their daily bread and protection. Once we are their saviors, it is merely a few hops steps and jumps to being their gods.
>>
>>26400981
Funny story, I was writing up a plan for next turn
>Mimics: Learn if the Elves have a god. (If they do not, plant the seeds of God Queen worship)
>>
>>26401002
Can we not directly cause risk of holy war and cries of heresy? At least until we've killed some undead?
>>
>>26401020
Makes sense
>>26400879
Also Klax, sorry to keep bothering you but I don't think workers got a turn either.
>>
>>26400966
>>26401048
No problem. Whoever's rolling the dice for my actions today must've rolled pretty low.

You can bring them back to the sand hive. They're pretty small.

The workers sign the whole place up on wooden tablets.
>>
>>26401148
YAY! Crabs and small sharks!
>>
Current plan. Likely change after mikeystuff.

Hunters: Hunt to replenish stores
Fishermen: Capture more sharks. Breed them according to the instructions of your new houndsman advisor.
Warriors: Practice one-v-many tactics.
Scouts: Practice dogfighting techniques, figure out how to dodge and avoid pursuit in air, and how to pursue and prevent enemies from dodging us in air.
Houndsmen: Continue Jousting. Send a representative to the fishermen to explain how we bred the wolves for size.
Workers: Dig new pool in sand hive for shark-raising.
Observer: Examine remnants brought back from the battlefield (i can cite where this happened).
Farmers: Farm Moar
Homeguard: Work on holes in defenses found by warriors
Alchemists: Play with the bomb parts and figure out how to replicate all the bits.
Scavengers: Haul grey grain in, and distribute it in several areas around the hive so that a single mikey can't trash our entire supply.
Mimics: Ask elves to look at our map and fill out any other detail they can, or at least note about where certain things might be from landmarks we already have.
MIKEY'S QUEST: (???)
>>
>>26401260
I like this just have a few thoughts/additions:
Fishermen: In addition: One of you bring a crab to the queen so she may eat in and obtain its powers
Warriors: Practice using halberds
Workers: Build an area farther away from anything important for the Alchemists eventual forays into explosives (Probably better for a later turn)
Observer: Continue to Halberd until there is enough for all the warriors (You've got a good idea gong most definitely
Farmers: Set up some of the newer rooms farther down in the hive as farms (Probably hold off until we have more farmers)
Mimics: Ask if besides being underground, the elves are happy and if they need anything to make their time here any easier. (The one I'm kind of pushing for. We need to know if they're begrudgingly thankful for us saving them or they love us for it)
>>
>>26401375
Let me note this with a quick signal. (1) means i'm going to replace my action for this turn with it, or add it to it (2) means we can do that next turn.

(2)Warriors: Practice using halberds
(2)Workers: Build an area farther away from anything important for the Alchemists eventual forays into explosives (Probably better for a later turn)
(2)Observer: Continue to Halberd until there is enough for all the warriors (You've got a good idea gong most definitely
(2)Farmers: Set up some of the newer rooms farther down in the hive as farms (Probably hold off until we have more farmers)
(1)Mimics: Ask if besides being underground, the elves are happy and if they need anything to make their time here any easier. (The one I'm kind of pushing for. We need to know if they're begrudgingly thankful for us saving them or they love us for it)
>>
Basically, if we don't figure out bombs this turn, we're going to be giving up on them for a while, as, well, we need the alchemists on the grey grain as soon as possible. Because one, this will be a major blow against further attempts by them to weaken their other enemies, and two, we'll know how to do it when we find a need to. I hate to say it, but it's even more important than bombs right now.
>>
>>26400946
The hunter strings up the elf at the front of the caravan while warriors swarm it. The elves are in shock and awe at how fast they reacted to it.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Sig exclaims. The observer lifts off the top to show off the gray grain. "They're stealing our food supplies! Men, ready arms!" At this point, every man who can lift a bow has it trained on your men.

"The grain is poisoned," your observer exclaims.

"Nonsense! It came from the south! It's supplies sent to us from our queen! Men -"

"It came from the north! Our scouts! They spotted it not too long ago!"

"Lies!"

"Lies or not, we have brought food to reimburse you with!" At this point scavengers are bringing up stores of food from the tunnel. Meat, fish, eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, and more.

"So then why did you forcibly capture the caravan?"

"We knew it was coming and we knew what it was carrying."

"Men -"

"Or would you prefer to create an incident? Would you make a threat from both inside and outside of the city? What is this particular shipment of grain worth to you, 'commander'?

Sig's eyes ablaze in anger. "Fine," he retorts, "have it your way, but release these men!"

How do you guys react?
>>
i agree with this course of action
>>
>>26401528
tell him we will not let them poison the city they must be detained
>>
"These men knew of the poison. The north is fallen. Our greatest warriors fear to follow the tracks of this cart back, so bad is the corruption. And these men are hauling food from it? They are at best traitors, willingly or not, at worst, disguised undead. If we cannot take them ourselves, i demand they be imprisoned and questioned."
>>
>>26401528
Let them go. Ask that we take the grain so we can learn how to unpoison it, and explain to Sig that we cannot have our allies being poisoned and we believe this is why the undead pulled back and also how we observed the liches blighting the grain fields in the Northern City
>>
>>26401612
>>26401607
>>26401584

Two for detain them, one for let them go.

Do we explain everything?

can we get one of the geneweavers to sample "a little bit o Mikey" every time one pips up to sort of start collecting "the crazy" in more distilled form if we need a sudden surge of divergent thinking offspring.
- or is that nuts?
>>
>>26401607
I'm down with that mostly because of how it was planned out, maybe just add in taking the grain to study it and explain that this may be why the Undead pulled back so the Elves would eat the tainted grain and be weakened.
>>
>>26401674

this sums thing up perfectly
>>
>>26401823
Offer to bring them there, if they wish. Do not hand out that information to anyone who might be captured. And also, means we can explain to barchetta before they show up.

Oh god no. We need to be prepared to cave the tunnel in behind the Sub-queens, if anything goes south

>>26401528
"I must refuse that request. These men have endangered the city and must be detained for questioning."

"Then why not detain them here? We have a perfectly good working prison considering we let all of the convicts join the defense. How did you say you knew this grain was bad?"

"We found a grain field in the north. It was golden then but now is gray. We tried eating it, but it made us sick. Even our most hardened of warriors are scared of the castle it came from."

"So you're saying that you live north of us? You live that close to the undead? And how should I know that your food is not corrupted?"

"If you wish, we can take you to where the food is grown. We must transport the grain to figure out a cure for it anyway."

"Very well, lock these men in the dungeon." he says as he pats guard captain Felna on the shoulders and says something to her out of earshot. (Yes, you see his lips move).

He follows your men through the tunnel.

(End Mikey quest extra turns). How many are traveling back to the hive with Commander Sig? And what are you explaining to Barchetta and Sig before they probably meet in the hive? Also are the actions the same?
>>
>I miss the whole thread

>>26402255

>>26401260
>>26401450

>>26402257
:(
>>
Leave two warriors guarding the prisons, make sure they aren't released. Have the observer examine the "elves" and make sure they're really alive.

Call barchetta in to the mimics and clergy's presence, and tell him you've found an elven city that you've managed to help set up defenses around. Now that the place is secure, you're inviting the commander over to talk. His warriors are welcome to go back home with Sig, but we would recommend against it, as we have not made sure that the city can withstand undead attack, and would not like to risk the undead wiping out our elven allies if we can manage it. We did not wish to keep this from him, but we partially expected the city to fall before we could raise defenses, and would be bringing in these refugees as well.

Otherwise, actions stand.
>>
>>26402257
You missed the development of Mimics!
>>
>>26402406
Can i mention that the clergy are rocking their calming and happy juice so hard it's not even funny?
>>
>>26402406
So nobody's going to explain Barchetta to Sig?
>>
>>26402406
Right, and we should offer to begin moving civilians to the safety of our hive. Obviously soldiers already present will be itching to go to the front and we cannot help that. We can only pray that the Queen grants them safety.

That being said, the civilians will be in danger for as long as the undead threat remains and we offer them sanctuary in these dark times.
>>
>>26402427
Sounds ... sexy
>>
>>26402444
Oh. On the way, we add that we've been running a refugee camp for the elven survivors. We didn't bring them in because you didn't have a stable food supply yet, and no need to starve more people. Especially since, if you needed soldiers, we had plenty.
>>
>>26402480
One of the Mikeys was an observer right? Just checking.
>>
But yeah. I had hoped to save us all this scene when i said "Bring in food to give elves IN EXCHANGE FOR THE TAINTED FOOD TROLLEY WHEN IT ARRIVES"
>>
>>26402529
Yes. He's been talking with them this whole time, he was in that scene before, etc. The reason there isn't a mimic there instead is because we haven't had a mimicky mikey.
>>
>>26402564
>clumsy moe mikey
>>
>>26402542
There was a reason that was seemingly ignored. I'm just checking through the archives to see if we have two observers present on the front. You may have to go without explaining anything to him.
>>
>>26402607
So a mimic meets him on the way? With a clergyman? Pumping out the juice?
>>
>>26402564
You had a legitimate observer there as well who I was factoring in for the diplomatic stuff. OK, you can explain things. How much of the refugee camp do you explain to Sig?
>>
>>26402625
That they exist, that they're well fed, that he can meet them, and that if he's satisfied with the food supplies coming from the hive and willing to rely on us, they're welcome to go with him. But we still hadn't gotten a reliable way to get enough food into the city before then for even the soldiers that were there. The tunnel was just completed, and it got a bit hectic before we could start talking logistics.
>>
>>26402625
Did we ever prove the juice works on elves?
>>
>>26402637
The fact that we have it, that there are several soldiers there, and that we build it for civilians and that they're welcome to use it. Add that if the battle goes too poorly, they might not be able to make it there in time, so it is best to move civilians while we still have control of the roads.
>>
>>26402688
Now is an excellent time to find out. At the very least, it will keep our observers cheery, so at most it seems like our alien minds don't understand the issues inherent in our actions and were merely being helpful and stupid rather than duplicitous.
>>
>>26402688
It works.
>>
>>26402721
GLORIOUS!
and for the explanation probably a combination of:
>>26402703
>>26402680
>>
>>26402680
You place two guards at the dungeon. and try to inspect the elves for life. It turns out, that they aren't alive at all. You can tell by the wounds that they have. Nothing could survive the amount of blood loss that these would have caused. Your observer holds off telling the elves about this for now.

Your observer tells Sig about how you saved a colony of Elves and how they are living within the mountain eating the food that you grow. You tell him that you kept them there in case the undead ravaged the whole of the Elven Kingdomes.

Sig gives a slightly concerned look. "Who is there?"

"This one does not know the names of all of the Elves. The Mimics handle diplomatic relations."

"Mimics?"

"You will see when you get there."

After being told about the struggle that the Southern Kingdom is facing, Barchetta seems pretty calm. "I figured that might have been the case and I thank you, but we really do need to find a place to live that's further away from the undead.

Barchetta's eyes widen as he sees Sig. Immediately, he pulls out a sword and attacks. The clang of metal echoes throughout the halls as they clash.

"The only reason you got the Captain position is because you had connections,"Sig says with a wry smile. You could never beat me in anything!"

Barchetta, out of fear or anger, yells, "I watched you die!"

Your priests sling the sap into Sig's eyes. The mimic trips Sig as he tries to jump back.

Barchetta, still unrestrained, drives his blade through Sig's mouth and out the back of his head. Sig lays there without animation; his black blood flowing over the floor tiles. A few of your hunters arrive on the scene, but it is too late. Sig doesn't need capturing anymore.
>>
>>26403632
You just saved the city from being sacked two or three times over so far as well as the location of the hive from the undead. You also had a chance of capturing a living Gheist class. The only problem you face now is explaining to the elves why their Commander didn't return.

I should be flayed alive by the undead for ever doubting her God Queen's will. Through the Mikey's her will has been done. All the Mikeys who participated in Mikey's Quest will be spared Iron Mikey-ing and will be added to the Memorial Wall once all of this Undead Nonsense is done.
>>26403842
Also this so hard. Now should we science his body or show the elves as proof
>>
>>26403895
Woah, I haven't even started the actual turn yet lol.

>>26403853
It makes him calm, it doesn't make him fall asleep. In this situation, it gave him a combat bonus. You could've prevented it had you restrained him, but that might have also cost Barchetta his life if Sig rolled high enough.
>>
>>26403895
Actually, we now need to find that Felna (?) and take her in to because she was the last person Sig talked to and we should probably tell Barchetta that before he goes and talks to the elves at the Southern City
>>
>>26403964
Clearly you've never taken a high dose of opiates. Get in a car crash sometime. Your brain is made of fuzz.
>>
>>26403910
Yep, there's a reason these guys are a CR 99. You haven't seen the brunt of it yet, but you will.
>>
>>26403910
It is alright, Admiral.

Know that we are imperfect children of Her making and that in our imperfections, we can truly know why She is so divine and perfect Herself. It is our place to make mistakes so that we may strive ever harder to please Her and honor Her shadow we all work beneath. We must never doubt Her, for all actions proceed according to Her whim.

Through every failure we are given opportunity to reaffirm our devotion and offer such praise that we may hope to regain Her blessings! Long live the holy Queen, long may She reign eternal!

Is it sad i felt my resolve harden at these words?

ALL GLORY TO THE GODQUEEN!

We're not entirely screwed. I'm pretty sure felna's an undead and we've got two prisoners in the dungeons. March out barchetta. Everyone's submitting to medical examinations or is getting netted and medically examined anyways.
>>
>>26404118

Question. The stingers on the warriors are a narcotic poison, right? Is it a kill-sting or a knock-out sting?

Our bugs all look differently now since they evolve seperately.
>>
>>26403964
What are we doing about the next turn?
>>
>>26404166
It's a random effect. The roll determines the amount of poison that gets in. Enemies could go through myrth, hallucination, or even forms of overdose.
>>
>>26404206
What do you want to do about the next turn?
>>26404215
Also, if I happen to roll a 1, the afflicted gets an erection for 8 hours.
>>
>>26404251
I'd like to get to settle the undead in the elves rank problem before we close up for the night. We doing full turn or continuation of Mikey Quest?
>>26404251
Hehehehehehehehe
>>
>>26404251
>erection for eight hours
The mimics can work with this!

>wat do
Diplomacy. A lot of diplomacy.

Observer: Help elves inspect troops for undead
Mimics: escort body and elves to city, then explain what happened and why it's vital to look for traitors in the ranks. Obviously, it's their troops, so they will administer the inspections. We will assist, but only to learn how to do it ourselves.
>>
>>26404291
I was thinking a full turn but if it's getting late for you we can just finish up Mikey quest. How, EXACTLY, are you executing this? It will change the way the Elves react.
>>
>>26404251
Warriors: Surround the town's walls and exits and get ready to stop runners. If they're running, sting 'em. If they start flying, shoot acid.
Elves: Go in and explain what happened with Sig and the two prisoners, and that all elves must submit to medical examination.
Hunters: As he starts speaking, coat Felna and any other elf who tries to run for it with webs.
Houndmasters: Standby for if warriors miss anyone.
Clergy: Calming presence, descend on anyone packing
Workers: Get the subqueens out of there.
Scavengers: Prepare to collapse the tunnel once all the living elves are escorted out.
Alchemists: Examine one of the two prisoners, and figure out what kind of undead they are. Use a mikey to test if they're infectious.
Observers: Examine all elves. Strip 'em down. If they resist, the hunters tie 'em up and you do it anyways. No messing around.
Fishermen: Keep it up with the sharks.
>>
>>26404403
Which did i miss?

Homeguard: Make sure nobody who hasn't been cleared by the observers and has an escort goes into the hive.
>>
>>26404435
Mimics: Help with the diplomatic situation as best you can
>>
>>26404435
Someone needs to get the grey wheat.
Also lets pray the Undead don't have a hivemind of their own
>>
>>26404403
>>26404435
Everyone on board with this? Are we evacuating an entire city on the front lines?
>>
>>26404478
The wheat is at the hive.
>>
>>26404478
We were hauling that through already. That is already in our tunnels

Do we really have a choice, Klaxx? This place is potentially filled with deathtraps and doesn't have the infrastructure to survive on its own. We're going, if people don't wanna come, fine. Anyone dead is going in the cells.
>>
>>26404403
>Observers: Examine all elves. Strip 'em down. If they resist, the hunters tie 'em up and you do it anyways. No messing around.

Oh yeah, that will go well.
>>
>>26404548
Got a better idea?
>>
>>26404556
If it helps, have our other undead's wounds put on display, so people understand we have living corpses about
>>
>>26404556
Yeah. Organize a elf lead inspection. We're in Cylon mode and we don't want to have people resisting just for the sake of resisting. Because they'll totally do that, even if they aren't undead.
>>
This is our best option. Klaxx keeps pointing towards that the undead have scarier shit and if anyone follows back into the tunnel, it'll be fine because it's like the elves said, "Fight them somewhere where they can't use their numbers."
>>
>>26404593
>>26404583
>>26404573
So: Organize an inspection led by Barchetta, surround the whole city so people don't escape, capture anyone who resists, evacuate all of the living to the hive as well as the undead to the operating tables and leave that city as a ghost town.
>>
>>26404593
I expect... a rather annoying number of casualties out of this. But we're securing a zombie at the minimum, so, i'm calling it a victory at the minimum.

New security precaution: Mandatory medic trips for members returning from patrol or new entrants. Signing in and out people at the doors.
>>
>>26404659
Well, it's got our entire warrior contingent in it until everyone's out, so... i'm not feeling too worried about it.

>>
>>26404723

oh god the suspense.....
>>
>>26404764
Yeah, I don't know where Klaxx got that plan from. First we're saying that the elves should be inspected, now we're kicking them out of their homes.
>>
>>26404760
Before >>26403791 I was expecting all of the elves to be undead and that it was all a Tzeentch-esque ruse by the Liches to draw us out and find out where our hive is.
I'm now thinking this again
>>
>>26404802
I think that plan would have been too crazy for even Tzeentch.
>>
>>26404800
I think I can see the scenario now: Felna turns the elves on Barchetta and the rest of us by saying we're working for the undead. And then the Undead swarm and we're all caught unawares. And then the Tzeetliches yuck it up because it went Just As Planned
>>
>>26404891
Worst case scenario, the scavengers collapse the tunnel, and we breed a whole new contingent of warriors. Speaking of which, when i said all, i mean all but one. As one is sitting in front of the god-queen so we don't lose ALL OUR FUCKING PROGRESS AGAIN.
>>
>>26404403
The warriors get in front of every city gate. (guarding from inside)

Barchetta walks in with the corpse and explains that Sig had been an undead all along and that everyone needs to be inspected.

The hunters capture Felna before she realizes what's happened.

People are freaking out everywhere but the priests do their best to calm them down. The tension continues to hold fast as the Elven warriors have their bows pointed and anything that's not elf.

The workers try to get the sub queens out of there, but the queens won't leave. They have a clutch to oversee.

The scavengers are prepared to collapse the enterance as well as the building to hide that the enterance existed.

The Alchemists examine the undead. They figure out that they aren't infectious when the undead seems very compliant. They act on orders, not on survival instinct.

The observers show off the undead and how they have wounds that nobody could survive. This puts the Elves at ease to an extent. After full examination, none of the elves seem to be undead. You attempt to evacuate them, bu they won't move. They have a city to defend.

The fishermen get more reef sharks, but have nowhere to put them.

Your farmers get a nice harvest.
>>
>>26405081
Alright. So, is felna a corpsefucker?
>>
>>26404891
I actually rolled to see if that happened.
>>
>>26405103
No, she's safe. She was ordered to release the undead, but she never got the chance because you stationed guards there.
>>
>>26405135
Then she's released with an apology, i'm sure she understands. Barchetta is put in charge and we don't collapse the tunnel. And will SOMEONE autopsy that body?
>>
>>26405081
>they act on orders
Hmmm... this means that sudden attacks will cause the lichs to rush in to give orders.
>>
>>26405135
If she released the undead, the city would've been invaded again while the Commander was missing and if the undead won (which they probably would've), then they would have a way into your hive.
>>
>>26405081
>They act on orders, not on survival instinct.
I figured it out, we just loudly order that they go away
>>26405155
Do we attack now?
>>
>>26405160
Occasionally, i plan ahead. I figured if he was a quizling, then she might be too, and thus it's always good not to trust people.

Paranoia may not make you friends but it makes it VERY hard for your enemies to do shit
>>
>>26405171
Are we ready to attack?

I think that's the big question.
>>
>>26405171
You've pretty much gained full control of the city. I guess that concludes Mikey Quest.
>>
>>26405197
No. We aren't. No idea where we're going.

I think you missed the scouts, who were doing their dogfighting practice.
>>
>>26405207
Mikey Quest 1. My good sir. There shall be other missions that require a band of screw ups to waltz into them and somehow set up the greatest dramatic moments of the entire Civilization
>>
>>26405211
The scouts learn that they definitely don't know what the hell they're doing in a dogfight.
>>
>>26405276
Woo. Skills to work on!

So, Stuff to do from here

We've got a new front line and we can't operate, violence-wise, out of the main hive. Warrior production and war production is now gonna be out of the main city. Someone get some farmers into the city with some seeds, we're starting an underfarm here like we have in the hive. We're gonna review all the tactics and we're gonna establish cylon-proof security measures for patrols. Also, can we see if our dead man had any other wounds on his body other than the one our idiot warrior friend was so kind as to ruin him with?

Also, someone needs to grab the elves and have a long talk about the importance of captives.
>>
>>26405339
I agree with trying to impress the need for a captive. We need to know how many liches there are and where they are based.
>>
>>26405339
so we're setting up a hive away from hive under the Elf City? I can dig it
>>
>>26405339
Hunters: Hunt to replenish stores
Fishermen: Capture more sharks. Breed them according to the instructions of your new houndsman advisor.
Warriors: Practice one-v-many tactics.
Scouts: Practice dogfighting techniques, figure out how to dodge and avoid pursuit in air, and how to pursue and prevent enemies from dodging us in air.
Houndsmen: Continue Jousting. Send a representative to the fishermen to explain how we bred the wolves for size.
Workers: Dig new pool in sand hive for shark-raising.
Observer: Autopsy Sig. Figure out if he showed any wounds from his first death.
Farmers: Farm Moar
Homeguard: Work on holes in defenses found by warriors
Alchemists: Work on the grey grain.
Scavengers: Do the hauling for the setup of infrastructure.
Mimics: See if we can't get the civvies to stay/move into the hive. Promise the warriors all the assistance we can manage, in exchange for whatever information they can impart.
Mikey's Quest II: Go search for the enemy stronghold, and get as much information on it as you can before you all die horribly.
>>
>>26405464
Addendum to mimic EXPLAIN TO EVERYONE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO TAKE A CAPTIVE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE OF ANY UNDEAD THAT SHOWS INTELLIGENCE. CUT OFF LIMBS, WHATEVER, BUT KEEP THE KNIVES OUT OF THE HEAD AND CHEST.

>>26405464
This what we're doing? This will probably be the last turn. I'll also let the mimics explain the whole not "killing" smart undead.

>I'll also let the mimics explain the whole not "killing" smart undead.
Probably a bit complex
>>
>>26405464
The hunters get a nice haul, but not enough to replenish stores.

The fishermen find a few more sharks. All of the sharks are at the old whale pool. They tend to eat a lot of fish and there isn't much left over for the hive.

Your houndsmen send their representative, but nobody knows how sharks breed or how to tell genders apart (It's probably not the wisest thing to get that close to them or bug them).

The workers dig a pool at the beach hive for sharks to be kept.

The wound from the first death was an arrow to the heart. You assume he must have been on the walls.

The farmers do just that.

The Homeguard begin filling the holes found by the warriors.

Mikey feeds a large amount of grain to another Mikey. Mikey dies.

Scavengers try to help the setting of infrastructure, but there's not much to help with.

The mimics convince the Elves to let the civilians move to the hive while your people work to fill the void that they left. They also get everyone to agree not to kill smart undead out right.

The Mikeys assault Tethe'Alla. They don't make it to the doorway before they're picked off by bowmen and magic. 7 Mikeys die.
>>
>>26405849
I had to determine whether or not the Mikeys were able to see the new undead weapon.

Thanks for the thread, Klaxx! Good night.
>>
>>26405906
That was the first city.
>>
>>26405926

So, cool news. I think we still have one advantage. We can dig a nice long tunnel into their base and have a hundred warriors pop up within their city walls. And it doesn't even have to come from anywhere in particular. I doubt they have adequate diggers.
>>
>>26405902
>new undead weapon

That might be difficult because most of the undead are mindless and/or brainless. It definitely goes against parasitic infestation. They are susceptible to eat and adapt though.
>>
>>26406077
Technically, you can infest them, but you can't mind control them
>>
>>26406098

>>
>>26406144

Also to fix the breeding problem with the sharks we can use the priests to calming pheromone them so we can check for shark gender
>>
>>26406184
